THE VEHICLE ENGINE HAS A RATTLE NOISE EVER TIME ITS STARTED. IT CONCERNS ME THAT IT MAY COME APART WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. UPON CHECKING THERE ARE OTHER YEAR MODELS INCLUDING THE 2017 FORD F150 WITH THE 3.5L ECO ENGINE THAT HAS HAD RECALLS, BUT THIS VEHICLE DOESNT.
I've added all 4 doors not latch closed at different times. I also had my front driver's door pop open while driving, this happens when the temperature is cold and freezing. I've spoken with two different Ford dealers and they both said they haven ne er heard of this problem. I have spoken with people who own the same vehicle and they say it's common and Ford really doesn't have a fix or if something is done it's shot term and starts happening again. I feel this is a very dangerous situation.

According to my local Ford Dealer, my 2017 F150 3.5 L EcoBoost Engine needs the Cam Phasers replaced. When the engine is cold and started it creates a metal “rattle” sound for a few seconds practically every time now. My motor has 131,348 miles on it. Ford previously had a recall 21B10, 21N03 and 21N08 for this issue but according to my call to Ford Motor Company today, December 4, 2023, the recall program is closed. I have a Ford Case Number that was provided to me today during the call. Therefore they cannot help me at this time; even though they previously did a nationwide recall for certain other models and model years for this engine. When I checked my VIN in your recall database, I could not find a Cam Phaser Recall Notice or that a repair had been previously made. Please investigate to determine if Ford Motor Company should issue an updated or another public safety recall for those vehicles that may have been missed or not repaired during the previous recalls.
THE FRONT DOORS HAS ISSUES SHUTTING AND STAYING LATCHED. I WENT TO MAKE A LEFT TURN THIS AM AND THE PASSENGER DOOR FLEW OPEN. I STOPPED TO SHUT IT AND THEN NEITHER OF THE FRONT DOORS WOULD SHUT AND STAY SHUT. I HELD THE 2 DOORS SHUT WITH A BELT TILL I COULD TURN AROUND AND GET BACK TO THE HOUSE
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the vehicle made an abnormal clicking sound. The contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 21B10 (Powertrain Control Module Reprogram for Cam Phaser Rattle); however, the VIN was not included. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the Customer Satisfaction Program and referred the contact to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 62,000.
There is an issue with the transmission slipping or not engaging properly. There is a strong and often loud jolt with a hard shift at times. It will also simply not engage in the next gear other times. I can be pushing down on the gas and you can hear the engine revving but the truck isn't picking up speed. This has been the most dangerous part of the transmission issues. If I'm pulling out to cross an intersection or turn onto a street and the truck isn't moving, my family is in extreme danger of being hit by oncoming traffic. The vehicle was looked at for this issue at the Ford dealership, Mel Hambelton, in Wichita, KS previously. The issue seemed to be better, almost non-existent, after I believe they reset some code. The problem has returned in the last couple of weeks and is much worse. We have an appointment Nov. 1st to have it looked into again. I don't feel very safe driving my vehicle and we couldn't get it in for at least 3 weeks to the same dealership so we are using the Ford Dealership in Hutchinson, KS to hopefully get it fixed sooner. There is no warning/check engine associate with this issue.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed and upon activating the rear window defroster, she observed smoke filling the interior of the vehicle. After a visual inspection of the rear window, the contact observed the rear window lower wire cover on fire. After turning the vehicle off, the fire extinguished on its own, after which the rear window shattered. Emergency services were not called. A fire report was not filed, and no injuries were reported. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who determined that the rear defroster wiring had shorted, causing the wiring to catch fire. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 106,000.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the instrument panel failed to illuminate. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.
My truck went to Bolton Ford in Lake Charles, Louisiana for a Brake Master Cylinder Recall on September 07, 2023. Upon receiving my truck back that afternoon, the repair was stated to have been successfully completed. After driving about twenty miles, a loud alert came on in the truck, and an alert came on the dash stating, "Check Brake System", also the Brake light by the tachometer. I immediately pulled over and called the dealership service department. I checked under the hood, and only found that the fluid reservoir cap was slightly loose. They advised watching the truck and getting it back as soon as I could. Turning the key off, cleared the warning. The warning happened two more times that day on my way home. I returned the truck back to the dealer for service two more times again after this time for the same problem. They have worked on my vehicle a total of three times for the same problem and still not fixed. It went in for a preventative recall, and now is constantly malfunctioning. I picked it up yesterday (10/12/2023) after the third repair attempt. I drove on the interstate 35 miles. Returning, the same "Check Brake" warning alerted, and the brakes were almost impossible to apply when I pressed them. Finally, the brakes applied. This has become a very dangerous situation. Please advise where to go from here.
Frame & suspension problem. Left front wheel attaches to frame was rusted and the wheel tilted in so it was not drivable. Fortunately, I was not driving at highway speed. Otherwise, I easily could have lost control of my truck. Navarre Ford Body Shop, St. Louis, Michigan looked at the damage & shipped it to Grand Rapids Michigan, ProAm Collision & Mechanical for repairs to frame & suspension. They are calling it a fractured frame. The two parties above have inspected the vehicle. There was no police report filed. No warning lights etc. Noticed issue with left front wheel while driving in residential area.
While driving the truck will suddenly shift down, lose power and transmission will shift from 10 to 1 very fast causing near accidents many times. I have had it in a repair shop and have been told it is a faulty transmission. This happens every time we are on a road where speed is over 50

On Sunday, October 8th 2023, my wife and I were returning home on a remote stretch of US Highway 24, 15 miles east of Buena Vista, Colorado, when we got a flat rear passenger tire. I pulled over at a safe location to change the tire. While attempting to remove the flat tire, I was unable to get the factory supplied lug wrench on any of the 6 lug nuts. Because of the remote location we had very limited cell service and were having challenges contacting a towing service. I eventually found a rock and was able to pound the lug wrench socket onto several of the lug nuts and managed to remove 4 of 6 lug nuts. The final 2 nuts became stripped and I could not remove them. Meanwhile, my wife contacted a tow service and 3 hours later, they arrived. The tow truck drive used a large hammer to pound a 7/8" socket onto the remaining nuts and used an impact wrench to remove them and then to put all the lug nuts back on. He informed me this is a common issue with my year and make of truck and they are called "Swollen lug nuts." I was very surprised that this was a known issue and there was not a recall issued to replace defective parts. It is extremely irresponsible to not notify owners of this issue, especially when I was sold a 4x4 wheel drive, off road vehicle and live in a state (Colorado) where cell service can be limited to non-existent. This issue could easily lead to death by not being able to replace a flat tire.
I was driving at highway speeds (60mph) in congested traffic on a road with a steep incline with no shoulder when the truck suddenly went into limp mode when it downshifted. The engine went to idle and I had to coast to the far edge of the right line before coming to a stop. Multiple cars around me had to take evasive action. This could have been catastrophic if I had been crossing an intersection. Similar reports online indicates issue with the Electronic Throttle Body which creates an error that causes the truck to go into limp mode. Turning the truck off and back on again reset the condition so I could safely pull off to a side road to further evaluate. The limp mode feature is entirely unsafe and places the safety of the vehicle's mechanical components over the safety of the occupants. I would rather damage or destroy my engine in the process of safely exiting the roadway than come to an unexpected stop in an unsafe location.
My truck's instrument cluster fails to turn on preventing me from seeing mph, fuel level, etc. Ford has a recall number(17C01) for this exact issue but my vehicle's VIN is not included
When the auto start/stop function kicks back on at a stop light, it often causes the truck to lurch forward suddenly. Then, it occasionally cuts out, momentarily stalling the vehicle in the middle of the intersection. After a couple of seconds, it re-engages and takes off. The lurching is jarring and potentially harmful; stalling in an intersection is dangerous.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V236000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle hesitated to respond, causing the braking distance to be extended. There was no warning light illuminated. The local dealer was contacted, and an appointment was scheduled for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that they would partially cover the repair. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 46,500.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated while decelerating, the transmission seized in third gear. The contact stated that later while attempting to accelerate from a stop light, the vehicle failed to immediately accelerate forward. The contact stated that while driving at highway speeds, the transmission failed to shift from fifth to six gear. During the failure, the RPMs increased but the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who replaced the transmission fluid, but the failure persisted. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 120,000.
Unexpected down shift with acceleration usually between gear 3 and 4. Shifts hard like ive been hit. Very startling. Doesnt always happen. Usually on hotter days. No warning lamps. No crash occured. Had machanic diagnose and flush and conditioning treatment on the 6r80 transmission and also replaced internal transmission wiring harness that showed signs of over heating at 115k.
The engine oil pan and drain plugs are plastic and tend to develop a leak over time that drips directly on the exhaust. This could become a fire hazard if your vehicle is hot enough. Has been replaced with OEM parts and eventually the same thing happens. No warning lamps.

The IMRC fails on the intake manifold causing a massive loss of power to potential limp mode at any point during driving speeds. This ia known issue for 2015 to 2017 F150's and mustangs with the coyote 5.0 V8.
I am filing this incident with you before I take my 2017 Ford F-150 to my local Ford dealership tomorrow. My truck was parked on a church parking lot September 3, 2023 . The truck was placed and left in park. I walked away from the truck and walked into a building went upstairs. According to the church security video my pickup truck started rolling across the lot until it was stopped by flower bed timbers just short of the Church Sanctuary building. I was upstairs and happened to look out the window and saw my truck in the flower bed. It was still in park!!! Thirty minutes later and a group of small children would have been crossing that area. Already my Ford dealership is telling me because my vin shows no recall (even though other 17/18 pickups have this issue) they will not cover the diagnosis or repair. How many more trucks like mine are out there? I am frustrated. Ford may or may not be aware of this. That is why I am reaching out to you. I do not trust them. 1
Ford 10R80 transmission suddenly began slipping in 10th gear while on an Interstate highway traveling across a mountain pass. This resulted in a sudden drop in speed from 75mph to 45mph. I was able to resume forward travel at highway speed by selecting a lower gear and avoiding 10th for the duration on the trip (2 hrs). The wrench icon was displayed and the an error code of P07F7 (10th gear incorrect ratio) was set in the OBD system. The transmission temperature gauge remained in the normal zone throughout the incident. Upon inspection I observed that transmission fluid had been spraying the undercarriage area. Local AAMCO dealer confirmed no 10th gear engagement and fluid had vented from vent hole atop transmission. Transmission was rebuilt with new CDF drum, valve body, torque convertor and typical wear parts. Mileage was 129,860 and transmission had received a fluid and filter change previously.

The failure mileage was 58,000.
2017 F150 with approximately 71k miles. The front passenger-side flexible brake line split and sprayed out all brake fluid from the system. This happened while parked and in the process of shifting into gear with the brake pedal pushed down. The pedal went to the floor without resistance due to loss of brake fluid pressure. The truck was towed to a Ford dealer for inspection with the expectation this would be covered under the extended warranty. The dealer service center reviewed the issue and recommended replacement of the hose due to it "spewing fluid near crimp connection". The dealer is not covering this under warranty even though the same issue is a recall item on Ford Edge and Fusion models. It is extremely fortunate this happened while parked and not while driving. This could have easily resulted in significant damage, injury, or death with a complete loss of brakes while driving.

The VCT units were replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. Additionally, while driving at various speeds, there was a whistling sound underneath the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission separator plate was faulty due to corrosion buildup and was pushing against the torque converter. The transmission separator plate was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 39,500.
The rear sliding window top rail has dislodged itself and the sliding window is now loose and does not create a proper seal.
Transmission does not complete all shifts and becomes neutral for extended time, unresponsive to throttle demand. Transmission spontaneously downshifts (ex 7-2) at speed during steady state operation and no throttle demand. Transmission stays in high gear when stopped and won’t pull away. Transmission exhibits extremely harsh shifts while moving. All conditions are intermittent and unpredictable.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, he heard an abnormal rattling sound coming from the engine compartment. No warning lights were illuminated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 145,000.
I had a complete engine failure in my 2017 Ford F-150 2.7-liter V6 turbocharged (twin turbo) truck. The safety of myself and four family members were put at risk when this engine failure occurred, as we were driving at approximately 55 mph. My truck was taken to a Ford dealership were they confirmed the engine failure. I am currently awaiting new engine from Ford (a remanufactured engine), but they are currently on back order with no estimated time of arrival provided. I will happily make the vehicle available for inspection (via the Ford dealership). The vehicle has not been inspected by another party (outside the Ford dealership). There were no warning lamps or messages that appeared before the failure. One symptom, a strange "muffler sounding" noise, did start about 5-10 minutes before the failure. This failure seems like it could be related to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration current investigation into this particular motor. See reference here - [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

According to a ford representative my vehicle should have been included in the 21N03 recall but was not. Because of this the cam phasers are failing and I have to repair them. Fords warranty expired 1 January 2023 but my millage is low for the vehicle. Mu vehicle no longer qualified for the repairs. Even tho the defective parts did fail under 65k miles.
Entire rear window appears to have bulged outward and shattered....Outside temperature in 90s (not unusual for this time of year) ...parked in driveway...no contact with anything else...no one in vehicle

On 07-15-2023 A girl rana stop sign and hit my truck quite hard on the Drivers side just in front of the door. It was so violent that my head, shoulder, arm, and left hand shattered the drivers window in each place they hit. Pictures show all 4 definitive places where each body part hit. I incurred a fracture on my left hand, shoulder, and head pain. I had to really force the drivers door open. It bent the front end around and I had to force the passenger door open. The side airbags didn't deploy. At the time of the accident all I felt was my hand and was slightly dizzy but didn't feel like I needed medical attention. The next day I knew I needed medical attention and went to the urgent care. I am now getting unusual headaches on the left and rear side of my head. I do not normally get headaches and am rarely ever sick. I have an appointment with my doctor to get checked out on Monday. I really feel that the side airbags should have deployed. Why even have them if they done deploy.
