July 2023 3.5L EcoBoost - Cold Start Ticking/Tapping/Rattle. Truck has 100,050 miles. Experiencing the same symptoms described in 21B10 and 21N03, but does not appear on VIN list. The defect will eventually cause serious damage if not repaired. This truck should have been included in the VIN list for this issue. Because the mileage is 50 miles over 100K, the dealer claims they cannot enter a claim in Orion.
This issue has happened multiple times. While driving at highway speeds, the truck downshifts too many gears and causes the back tires to almost skid, causing all the passengers in the vehicle to slam forward. When this happens, it doesn't matter if you try to accelerate, manually shift gears, put it in tow mode, nothing works. Then all of the sudden, it will shift back into a higher gear and let you accelerate again. It started a couple of years ago, but at the time Ford was just now addressing the issue with vehicles under warranty and recalled them. Ford was stating that it was a software issue, but after a few months, people that got the new software stated that the issue came back. March of 2024, Ford released a TSB on how to fix the issue, but refuses to admit that it is a safety issue and recall it. My truck was dropped off this morning at the Ford Dealership. I am hoping that the TSB is a permanent fix. IT wasn't until I got to work that I saw the news that Ford is finally being investigated for this as a safety issue. Hopefully it turns into a recall and I can get reimbursed.

I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH MY BRAKES ON MY F150 2017... ACTUALLY I WAS AMAZED HOW LONG I WENT WITH OUT BRAKES BEFORE GETTING THEM FIXED. MY PROBLEMS BEGAN WHEN I DECIDED TO GET NEW BRAKES. I ASKED FOR THE BRAKES THAT WERE ON THE CAR ORIGANALLY WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THEM. WELL I DON'T THINK THE NEW BRAKES ON THE CAR LASTED NO MORE THAT 3 - 6 WEEKS UNTIL I HAD TO BRING THE TRUCK BACK TO HAVE THEM FIX THE BUMPTYBUMP EXPERIENCE THAT I HAVE WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES WHEN COMING DOWN THE HILL. SO EVERYTIME I'M COMING DOWN THE HILL I GET NERVOUS BECAUSE I FEEL THE BRAKES WILL GIVE OUT COMPLETELY ONE DAY.
The truck begins downshifting aggressively when you are slowing down. This just started happening after 72,000 miles. I have read online that others have had the same experience. This can be extremely unsafe. My 16yr old drives the truck and he became very scared. I took the truck the Ford and wanting me to pay $7,000 for a new transmission.
2023 July: Driving on I75 S while it was raining, approximately 60 mph and Transmission suddenly dropped to 3rd gear, vehicle went sideways but I was able to control it, and a wrench figure came on the dashboard. Pulled off exit, turned off and restarted, seemed fine but it did it again several times on my way to destination. returned home, called dealer for any recalls for this but there were none. This has happened more than ten times since then. It will drop to 5th gear sometimes as well as being stuck in 3rd. Have to restart, and seems fine til it happens again. Ford should have to recall for a fix before someone gets killed.
When I went to stop as I pulled up behind another car at a gas pump, my brake pedal went completely to the floor and I had no brakes. I then left the gas station to go to my place of employment down a hill and my ability to brake was very minimal. I lost my front brakes in my F150 and later found out that only the back brakes were stopping me. I had to have my truck towed and found out that my front brake hose burst and the second one was bubbled and ready to burst as well. I have saved the brakes hoses if the NHTSA would like them for examination.

AIRBAG WARNING FAILURE A know issue with Ford F-150 and other products with the Blind Spot senor module in the rear tail lights. The vehicle has an issue with water or fluid leaking into the tail light housing causing many of the advanced features to stop working. The vehicle shows a Blind Spot Sensor Failure, Cross Traffic Sensor Failure, Front Windows will not operate, Air Conditioner stops working , Radio works but nothing can be changed and worst of all the "The Air Bag Failure Warning Light" comes on rendering the vehicle unsafe for roadway operations. The Internet (You Tube and other sites )document the failure and how to fix it. It is not confined to just My 2017 F-150 but plagues many other year and model ford products. My truck is currently at Bluebonnet Motors the Authorized and Sales Dealer for this Truck, they have confirmed the issue and are awaiting parts to repair it. They have quoted about $1,850 for parts and labor. [XXX] the service writer and myself witnessed these failures in the service reception area while checking the truck in for service. This problem puts many people at risk (including myself) if they are unaware of the entire system failures. Should a crash occur the occupants may not be provided with air bag deployment , which could result in possible injuries or death. I have not been made aware of Ford Motor Company or the dealership acknowledging this serious safety concern. Rear window exploded sitting in my closed garage. Did a lot of research on it and apparently this has been happening to numerous people dating back to 2010 on all the f series picks. FORD refuses to issue a recall. CHILDREN CAN BE HURT BY THIS. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE.
Engine start stop does not work anymore when at a stop but is causing a rough idle and sometimes will stall in traffic at low speeds.
I was driving on the highway when my truck randomly began to sound as if it was in high idle like if I had it in neutral and was still pressing on the gas peddle. A wrench light came on as well as my engine light and I immediately lost power. Once I pulled over and placed it in park all the warning lights disappeared and my truck was fine again. Then it happened a second time but this time it almost caused the person from behind to hit me. I finally got to my destination and my truck was once again fine as if nothing happened. Few days later I was on the highway and it again happened. This time I had to utilize my insurance and have my truck towed back home. It has been an ongoing issue with my gears wanting to slip or feel like they don’t want to engage. Even with my truck constantly shifting hard. I contacted Ford and I am being told that ultimately Im still responsible for charges. I know this is an ongoing problem with the manufacture and I know I am not the only person with an f150 having this issue. I am writing this complaint because it can be a dangerous situation, especially around heavy traffic.

Drivers side valve cover is prone to crack and cause oil to leak into hot turbos.
The truck started missing at about 96,000 miles. Thought it was plugs. Missing got worse, losing power, vibrations in engine and started shutting off when stopped at a stop light/stop signs. Took it to dealer where it was bought new and they said it was the cam phaser gear. Major repair. Just payed the truck off 2 weeks before I took it to dealer to see what was wrong. In doing a little research I see this is and has been a problem for many years. So I now have a truck that looks almost brand new that I can't drive.

We bought this 2017 Truck from a privately owned car lot and their mechanic said the truck passed all inspections. There was a little rattle when we bought it and brought it to the car lot owners attention and he still said everything is good with the truck. This truck has giving up problems since we bought it , 1 year ago. and the rattling noise we just found out yesterday 5-12-23 that its a phaser. Has to do with the engine. Its a lot of money to fix it. The customer care service person at Ford told us this truck is maturious for the phaser issues. Ok, if this is happening to a lot of Ford trucks why is this not a recall.
My 2017 Ford F150 truck developed a fuel leak in the line between the gas tank and the engine. The leak is located at a disconnect fitting where the steel tubing from the tank transitions to nylon tubing. This presents a fire risk. The vehicle did not provide any warning messages. I discovered the leak after smelling fuel when parked after driving.

On April 28th, 2023 at approx. 1800 this Ford F-150 malfunctioned yet again. While traveling east on Interstate I-70 in a construction zone near Saint Clairsville, OHIO, this F-150 was set on cruise speed for the construction zone. This F-150 shifted from 8th gear down to 3rd gear. This uncommanded and unprompted change of speed injured my neck and nearly ended my family's life and the lives of others. The 18 wheeler carrying thousands of gallons of fuel behind me NEARLY clipped my rear end. As this change in speed was did not included BRAKE LIGHTS, because I did not hit my brake pedal. This F-150 is a danger to society and will certainly kill a construction worker, police officer, or any one near it. Perhaps it will take out a critical bridge or other important infrastructure????? I just hope it doesn't kill a presidential motorcade. This truck is a hazard. I am NOT in control of the truck at highway speed. I will not be accountable for the impending disaster this truck will cause. YOU ARE! This F-150 does have the 10R80 transmission, so you are aware of the danger. What are you going to do???? My son has name this truck "MURDER TRUCK", he fears riding in it. He refuses to risk his life in this F150. Please contact me NOW. [XXX]. The corvair was recalled for far less. Simply driving this....is the danger/hazard. I know you don't give a [XXX]. So [XXX] you for doing nothing. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The vehicle was purchased back in March and was parked in my driveway for about a month between uses. When I drove it again, I had the "Charging System Service Now" alert pop up on the screen. This was not present when we left the dealership, and they were not willing to help me solve the problem. I checked it with a code reader at home, but it did not generate any codes. I put the battery on a charger, but it was fully charged in 5 minutes. I took the vehicle to an auto parts store to have them check the battery and alternator, and everything checked out. The serpentine belt is not warn and the fuse for the alternator was still intact. We tried discharging the PCM, but that did not solve the problem either. I am asking around at a few mechanic shops for possible solutions to try and avoid taking it to the dealer.
