The transmission downshifted while driving 60 to 65 MPH and needed repairs. Transmission Specialist changed out transmission electric control unit.
Driving interstate and a wrench warning came up on dash screen. I knew that wasn’t good. Two Local mechanics diagnosed as circuit A (transmission) needs replaced. Park light not illuminating and won’t even crank to start. I got it started , finally, and wrench came back on. Loud “thunk” noise when switching into reverse Was advised NOT to drive until repaired as it is dangerous to me and others Recall was issued for 10 pin and needs to recalled for 6 pin ASAP Ford is welcome. To check it out anytime as I just have it setting waiting on recall. I need a truck, please issue recall
Truck rapidly shifted from fifth to third gear, causing the truck to jolt and lock the rear tires. This has occurred at least three times since a recall was performed on the truck’s computer several months ago. After it happened today, the truck produced the following codes: P0720 and U0102. This could be detrimental when driving at high speeds on the highway. Truck can be inspected if requested. A local Ford dealer has been informed about the issue and stated that the recall would not have caused it. No inspections have been performed due to the inconsistent occurrence of this issue.
Vehicle transmission will instantly drop to gears 3 to 5 (limp mode from what I have researched) & wrench light comes on. Very dangerous on the interstate traveling at 70mph+, seems to happen more frequently on hotter days. You can park & turn off vehicle, then crank back up, & it is out of limp mode but transmission is sluggish. Initially it was happening once per week on avg, now it is a toss up on each drive I do whether it goes into limp mode or not.
Vehicle unexpectedly downshifted and service now light came on. Speed was difficult to control as the vehicle would either rapidly decelerate or accelerate. Cruise control was unable to be used. I received a speeding ticket because I was unable to consistently maintain speed. Problem returns intermittently and is usually resolved by pulling over, turning off the vehicle and turning back on.
Vehicle stuck in 7th gear upon starting.
Random downshift, loss of engine power, then power comes back at high RPMs then truck recovers. This has happened 3 times. Today, I was driving at approximately 55mph, with no throttle variation, the truck lost power and downshifted. Whatever gear it found it was enough to bark the tires.
Cruise control randomly disabled several times while traveling. This is a known issue with the Clock spring and is a significant safety issue!
Well the last few days in colorado its been cold and every morning when i get in my truck the guage cluster does not come on. I have a few flashing lights but nothing else works. I am not sure what all is effected by this problem. After about 10 min. everything goes back to working as it should. but then the next day it happens agian. I have done some research and this is a problem that ford has had in the past that they had fixed on vehicals that were built up to the month before mine.
I was driving home from work and without any warning I lost the ability to accelerate when I was on the freeway, a message popped up on my truck screen Powertrain Malfuction/Reduce power. I was lucky this time around as I was able to cost to the shoulder Cars however were speeding up to me and around me as I could not accelerate my truck. If this would have happen when I was towing my old 35 foot trailer it could have been deadly. I noticed a recall for this exact same issue on 2011 trucks, forms online seem to suggest others have had this same issue with newer 2017 trucks also. The issue turns out to be the Molded lead frame failure. Once more same issue from recall title was6r80 recall number 19507. Seems like ford did not fix it only prolong the issue or kicked it down the road. My truck is 100K others around 77K it failed so I am assuming it will happen as trucks get around 100K.
The lead frame on valve body in transmission, most fords have this recall, truck gets stuck in gear
There is an issue with the transmission slipping or not engaging properly. There is a strong and often loud jolt with a hard shift at times. It will also simply not engage in the next gear other times. I can be pushing down on the gas and you can hear the engine revving but the truck isn't picking up speed. This has been the most dangerous part of the transmission issues. If I'm pulling out to cross an intersection or turn onto a street and the truck isn't moving, my family is in extreme danger of being hit by oncoming traffic. The vehicle was looked at for this issue at the Ford dealership, Mel Hambelton, in Wichita, KS previously. The issue seemed to be better, almost non-existent, after I believe they reset some code. The problem has returned in the last couple of weeks and is much worse. We have an appointment Nov. 1st to have it looked into again. I don't feel very safe driving my vehicle and we couldn't get it in for at least 3 weeks to the same dealership so we are using the Ford Dealership in Hutchinson, KS to hopefully get it fixed sooner. There is no warning/check engine associate with this issue.
ON TWO OCCASIONS VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO THE FLOORBOARD WITHOUT TOUCHING PEDAL, NOR FLOOR MATS HOLDING PEDAL DOWN. BOTH TIMES WAS FORCED TO PUT TRUCK IN NEUTRAL AND TURN ENGINE OFF. FORD DEALER CANNOT FIX ISSUE B/C CANNOT GET PROBLEM TO REPEAT FOR THEM

WHILE ACCELERATING TO PASS SLOW VEHICLE, I PULLED BACK IN LANE AND ATTEMPTED TO SLOW DOWN BUT THE ACCELERATOR WAS STUCK AND CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE UP TO 70 MPH BEFORE I HEARD IT RELEASE AND THEN THE TRUCK SLOWED. WITHIN 20 MINUTES I ACCELERATED AGAIN AND ONCE AGAIN THE PEDAL STUCK AND CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE WITHOUT FOOT PRESSURE.
ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGES BRAKES FOR NO APPARENT REASON. NO TRAFFIC OR OBSTACLE WAS IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE TO CAUSE IT TO ENGAGE THE BRAKES AT HIGHWAY SPEED OF 70MPH. MESSAGES AS FOLLOWS: HILL DESCENT CONTROL WARNING ILLUMINATED CAUSING BRAKES TO ENGAGE 3/14/2018. FORWARD COLLISION WARNING 3/14/2018. SELF-PARKING FEATURE BACKED MY VEHICLE INTO A LARGE BOULDER BESIDE MY TRUCK WHILE PARKING. IF IT HAD BEEN A PERSON BESIDE MY TRUCK, THEY COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. HAPPENED ABOUT FEBRUARY 15, 2018
THIS IS A BRAND NEW TRUCK I HAVE PURCHASED ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO. I HAVE NOTICED SOME STRANGE BEHAVIOR OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, I HAD AN IMPRESSION THAT SOMETIMES IT WAS GETTING A BIT STUCK OR CHANGED THE POSITION ON ITS OWN. TODAY I HAVE DISCOVERED BY MYSELF THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY IS COMPLETELY LOOSE, ALL 3 BOLTS ARE NOT TORQUED AT ALL, I COULD TURN THEM WITH MY BARE FINGERS. THIS EXPLAINS THE STRANGE BEHAVIOR I OBSERVED. LAST WEEK I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER ABOUT THE ROUGH DOWNSHIFTING, THEY DID A TEST DRIVE (!) AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG. I HAVE MADE A VIDEO, I HOPE IT WILL BETTER EXPLAIN THE NATURE OF THE PROBLEM: HTTPS://YOUTU.BE/B9IJTDTDQYA I DEFINITELY CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I SUSPECT FORD DOES NOT HAVE ADEQUATE QUALITY CONTROL TO ENSURE THAT THE ACCELERATOR ASSEMBLY IS INSTALLED CORRECTLY. I AM GOING TO SEE THE DEALER TOMORROW MORNING.
