On [XXX] i was traveling on [XXX] coming home from Nashville, TN the cruise control was set at approx 75mph, my truck was in 10th gear. I suddenly heard a loud clunk , looked at the instrument cluster and the gear indicator showed i was in 3rd gear, I promptly pulled over and stopped to inspect for any type of damage. There was none so i proceeded to a nearby exit and gas station, put the truck in park, shut it off for a more thorough inspection. Nothing was found so i cautiously proceeded the remaining 75 miles to my home, i have not had that issue again, yet. 2019 Ford F150 , 85,000 miles. One owner vehicle. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Transmission has hard shifting at various speeds even if you let go of gas. HARD & Delayed shift from park to reverse sometimes park to drive! There’s multiple TSB from ford stating the reason and cause for this! This is a manufacture defect that people have to pay out of pocket for if we aren’t under manufacturing warranty! I think they knew before hand but neglected it they should be the one covering the payment for getting transmission fixed not the owner when it was a manufacturer problem
The transmission went out after only having the truck 1 year. Hard shifting, sluggish shifting and now it’s gone from what the dealership said. It’s the Eco boost V6 with the 10 speed transmission 10R80. I see lawsuits but no recalls from Ford. Couldn’t get up a small hill. The truck is still in the shop
While leaving the parking spot at Winco the truck turned itself off and displayed the following message. Auto start-stop shift to P restart engine I was able to restart the engine after putting it in park, if that had happened at an intersection it could have been very severe. I am getting the truck serviced. ASAP
Wrench light came on. Skipped shifts and over revs. Truck has been at Ford service for a month. Parts ordered. Tore into and ordered more parts. Truck has 69,000 miles so it is 9,000 miles outside of powertrain warranty. Estimated repair cost is $4,800. FORD customer service offered nothing beside we're sorry. Truck has not shifted right since day one. Ford did a transmission reprogram flash at about 10,000 which helped a little. Cross lane traffic turns had to be planned and timed in case the transmission decided to think about shifting gears while coasting.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150, The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked, his daughter observed a crack under the Ford emblem where the air bag was located. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was 78,327.
I purchased a 2019 F150 in 2023 to date the car has roughly 60,000miles on it. Recently I noticed it "slipping" when driving. I brought it to the dealer where the car was purchased to be looked at. Upon dropping the car off, a service tech said this was a common issue in this type of vehicle. Ford called a few days later, the vehicle needs a full transmission rebuild and they are not willing to help cover the cost even though they sold the vehicle with a faulty transmission and without disclosing a material fact about the vehicle. The transmission is the system that failed/is failing and it is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle got stuck in 4th gear which prevented it from properly shifting and maintaining an appropriate speed on an interstate. This put and will put myself and every vehicle around me in danger.
The transmission shifts hard and delays when shifting gears. It slips and loses power which shifts hard. Also have o2 sensor issues
Well, my motor has already been replaced with less than 80,000 miles because of an engine oil consumption issue. My transmission is not shifting correctly. It jerks and shifts hard. It’s been an issue since I bought it.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated when the vehicle was started, the contact noticed a fuel leaking sound. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was confirmed to be a fuel leak. The contact was informed that the failure was due to rodents. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact stated that the failure had occurred twice, and this was the third time the rodents had chewed through a fuel line. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.
Hard transmission shifting and hesitation. It puts the driver and others in danger from the hard shifting and unexpected shifting and hesitation when shifting.
Windshield wipers suddenly stopped working on a trip and I had to drive without wipers in snow and slush, which was difficult. I took apart the wiper assembly and the center, passenger side wiper shaft was frozen solid with corrosion, I had to drill 2 holes in the casting to get lubrication on the shaft to free it up in order to get home. From what I see online this appears to be a common problem.
I purchased a 2019 Ford F-150 new from Muzi Ford in Needham Ma. Starting in the winter of 2021 with less than 35,000 miles the truck was sometimes slow in shifting through the gears, ( it is an automatic transmission ) it seemed as though it was slipping on ice . I assumed it was due to cold weather. The same situation occurred occasionally the following winter and seemed worse the colder it was. Several months ago it began to happen more frequently, and now it it has become constant and much worse. The truck stalls , revs up, slips into neutral, then suddenly lunges forward creating a very unpredictable and dangerous situation. It is now nearly impossible to operate this vehicle safely. I took the truck to Madden Ford in Norwood Ma on [XXX] of this year to have it looked at. I was told , much to my surprise that the transmission is beyond repair and would need to be replaced . They also told me that it was no longer covered under the warranty as the truck now has just over 60,000 miles. The cost quoted to replace the transmission is $ 9,877 plus tax. I was also told at the dealership that this is a common problem with this model and year and that it was too bad that I had not brought the truck in sooner as it would have been replaced at no cost to me. I have subsequently discovered that indeed this has been and continues to be an ongoing problem, and that Ford Motor Company knew of these transmission problems and yet continued to manufacture and sell them to unknowing customers. This has been very upsetting and disturbing. I do not have the nearly ten thousand dollars required to replace this and do not own another vehicle. I called the Ford customer service center on February the first and have had no response. I have also sent a letter to them explaining the situation and the dangerous operating condition of this vehicle and also have not had a response. I hope that someone will help with this serious problem before there is any fatal results. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION A
Transmission issues on 10r80: Vehicle has delayed shifting from 3rd to 4th, occasional jolting forward or lagging on acceleration. When coming to stop, can lurch forward when it lowers gerars. Also has occasional difficulty shifting from drive to reverse or park.
Five weeks ago, my transmission service light came on. I drove to Phil Long Ford, by nursing the vehicle along, and left it to be repaired. I was told today that the 10 speed transmission is a common problem, and they are backed up for repairs for many of these same problems. I have had to wait for parts due the frequent occurrence of this issue, and lack of trained personnel to handle it. I was also told today that it would be two more weeks before I can get back the vehicle. If this is so common that the dealers are having issued repairing, there should be a quality recall of these vehicles, to repair or replace or compensate the owners.

While towing a motorcycle, the wrench light came on. The transmission over revved and slipped out of gear shifting from 1-3 and 7-8. It continued to slip in and out of gear while driving.
65,000 miles towing a motorcycle trailer and the wrench light comes on. Transmission would sometimes slam shift, other times slip out of gear completely. It also shifted from 3-8, slipped out of gear and over revved 1500-2000 rpms. Ford says CDF drum and valve body needs replacement. Trans rebuild. $4,500 covered by personal extended warranty, co pay $787. Parts on backorder. No get well date. Dealer says has a backlog of transmission repairs. Internet says a known issue. On waiting list for loaner car. Possible 2-3 months without truck. Truck is at dealership.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the contact heard an abnormal rattling sound coming from the engine compartment, after which the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the cam phasers, resulting in damage to the engine and requiring the engine to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 139,000.
10 speed transmission shifting erratically between gears sometimes delayed shifts other times hard shifts. Transmission has also went into neutral while in gear. Dealer says my vehicle isn't affected by current recalls. I'd strongly disagree. Dealer says CDF drum needs replaced likely due to CDF clutch drum bushing movement blocking flow of fluid to properly operate transmission. Dealer was asked if there is an updated part number to fix issue of bushing movement. I was told no. I asked Dealer if it was likely this could happen again and was told yes. Vehicle currently has 62,137 miles.
10 speed transmission when cold jumps / bangs into gear , sometimes slips first start of day . Only when easy on throttle and scary till it fi ds gear. Only after sitting and 1st drive of day.
Sudden loss of power due to transmission issue at highway speeds. Ford had a waiting list for a replacements on the transmission and it was indicated by the dealer that they have many issues with this particular transmission and they were hoping ford would issue a recall. I needed the vehicle and had a rebuilt transmission (from Ford) which failed AGAIN under power at highway speeds causing sudden loss of power in traffic causing a very dangerous situation for all vehicles adjacent.
Driving down the freeway at 80 MPH with my cruise control set at 80 MPH when my truck suddenly shifted from 10th gear down to first.
At about 80K on my truck I noticed severe slipping of the transmission while accelerating. Most noticeable when getting on the freeway, or accelerating to pass someone. I called our local dealership and the service person said there was no recall, but they could take a look at it. I saw online many reports of the same issue. They give possible fixes, fluid levels, reset adaptive tables, software updates, but it seems none of that works. I am a senior on a fixed income and a new transmission cost would be terrible. I have been very careful while accelerating and back off every time it slips. Just would like to get on a list.
At cruising speeds on the highway, the transmission will shift from 10th to 1st gear. This has occurred on several occasions, forcing me to pull over onto the shoulder. The transmission will then be stuck in 1st gear until I place it in Park. I sometimes have to shift from Park to Drive several times before it will proceed again. The transmission will also lag between gear shifts when accelerating from a stop. It feels like it goes into neutral and abruptly upshifts. When attempting to accelerate under normal driving conditions on the highway, there is a violent down shift. All of this causes the transmission to overheat. I cannot drive in the city under stop and go conditions for more than a short period of time before it overheats and I have to pull over. I have notified the Ford Dealership and they have confirmed my experience. They have stated this is a common issue but no recall has been issued.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 60 MPH, the transmission inadvertently downshifted to first gear, causing the vehicle to come to a complete stop. The transmission then inadvertently upshifted back to fifth and sixth gears. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to two independent mechanics and the dealer, where it was determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.
Transmission has hard shifting in lower gears. It gets stuck in 4th gear and loses power. It also will lunge forward sometimes once it gets stuck in 4th gear. It puts mine and others safety in jeopardy because if it loses power on the road it might cause a acciden it might also cause one when it lunges forward. The problem seems to happen everyday I drive the vehicle. There has been no warning lights on the dash about this issue. Ford released a technical service bulletin about it but is should be a recall.
The contact owns a 2019 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon starting the vehicle, he briefly heard an abnormal rattling sound emanating from the engine compartment. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, he also heard a ticking sound emanating from the engine compartment. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 21N03. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 69,000.
The first item to malfunction was the transmission gear indicator on the dash, that started about a year after I bought the truck and would intermittently work. I had multiple oil changes in the truck at various dealers and brought it up but nothing ever came up from it since it was intermittent. Then in 2023 a warning popped up that the blind spot indicators were malfunctioning. I was planning to bring it in to be looked at but did not have time to with work and family. Then at 95,000 miles the transmission failed while towing a loaded trailer and began to shift erratically, sending the engine to extremely dangerous RPM levels while trying to downshift. Every gear began to clunk into place with a severe jerking motion and then eventually could only be operated with any sort of safety at low speeds. There were initially NO warning lamps that popped up for the transmission failure either. It went out at night 2.5hours away from my home so I spent 15minutes limping it to a gas station at low very low speeds. Only moving it around a bit the next day did it show any warning and it just said to see the dealer.

The transmission completely loses power at random intervals. It will also shift gears without changing throttle ( from 7th to 1st and back) The vehicle will ‘hunt’ for a gear while turning causes the vehicle to stall This is a life threatening issue.
my drivers side tail light burned out. I replaced with the recommended bulb Sylvania 3057. several months later, the same tail light became very dim, and upon removing the assembly, I noticed the sockets for the bulbs were melting. I was told by the Ford dealer service writer that this was caused by poor quality bulbs. The tail light assembly was damaged requiring a new assembly, new sockets. I am concerned that this could be a fire hazard, and wondering why there was no fuse to protect the wiring. The repair facility discarded the damaged part, but I do have a photo.

I purchased this truck as a Ford blue certified vehicle with 6,800 miles. Driving home, I heard a loud rattle coming from the front passenger door area that was consistent on all road types. Upon further inspection, I found that the crash bar inside the front passenger door was not fastened. It requires a paint cutting acorn nut, and it is clear from the intact paint on all of the stud threads that it was never fastened at the factory. I do not know how this may have affected the function of the crash bar in the event of a side impact. I repaired it myself and did not take the vehicle to a dealer for inspection.
