I was driving at about 40mph and everything shut off for about 5 seconds. It was long enough for all the gages on the instrument cluster to go to their off positions. The desolation screen went blank as did the infotainment system and all lights.
I recently purchased a new 2023 Ford F150, XL Trim, Crew Cab truck. This weekend on a trip, the vehicle's air conditioning began to malfunction. After operating for less than an hour and without adjusting the fan motor speed, the volume of air coming out of the vents gradually decreases to nothing and the cab of the vehicle begins to warm. With only 350 miles on the vehicle, I pulled off of the road, turned off the engine, and let the vehicle set for 20 minutes, hoping everything would reset. After the 20-minute period, I started the vehicle and the AC seemed to be working as it should. After driving another 20-30 minutes, the cab began to warm again and upon checking the air coming from the vents, it was minimal to none. I turned up the fan to max speed and the volume of air coming from the vents remained minimal and the temperature in the cab continued to rise. This time I turned the system AC off (no compressor) and left the fan on to bring in outside air in hopes of dropping the cabin temp. Immediately after turning the AC system off the air flow from the vents increased to a normal level. After operating with the AC off for 20 minutes, I turned the AC back on and the system, and yet again, the AC System operated as it should. This went on for my entire 8-hour trip. Not only an uncomfortable inconvenience, but this issue could also be safety issue (visibility) when depending on the vehicle's defog/defrost system as the AC system (compressor and condenser) is used for defogging/defrosting the vehicles windows. A similar issue has been noted in previous year models under Ford Tech Service Bulletin 22-2089. Being my issue is duplicated in the issue section of the service bulletin, the year model of my vehicle is not included. In performing some internet research, it seems that many owners of 2023 Ford F150 models are experiencing this exact issue. This issue does not cause panel lights to illuminate. Currently awaiting call back from Ford Dealer.
I recently took my truck to the dealer because I have been experiencing a clicking and rattling noise that I believe is coming from the drivetrain. The service adviser stated to me , "According to Ford , this is a normal condition and there is nothing to be fixed." The same problem/condition that I am experiencing is described in NHSTA Campaign ID 23V896000 which appears to be Ford Recall # 23S65. What should I do ?
I recently took my truck to the dealer to have it looked at because I have been consistently hearing a clicking and rattling noise coming from the drivetrain. The service adviser stated "According to Ford , this is a normal condition and there is nothing to be fixed." The same problem/condition that I am experiencing is described in a Ford Recall # S2365. This is NHTSA Campaign ID 23V896000. What should I do
I would like to report an issue The motor fan or actuator on the vents doesn’t work properly and my windshield becomes foggy even though when I turn the AC on or heat on, it does not defrost the fog And gives poor visibility on the road I have to pull over roll the windows down to make sure it’s safe to travel. It’s very important. Should be part of safety issue to have clear visibility while driving. Don’t reason reason why I’m reporting this because my friend has the same issue and he’s been at the dealer to get the problem fixed. They can just fix it. There should recall this issue.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while her husband was reversing down the driveway, the vehicle suddenly accelerated independently. Upon depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal went to the floorboard and failed to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. As a result of the failure, the driver lost control of the vehicle, coming to a complete stop after striking a tree. The vehicle continued to accelerate, requiring the driver to turn off the engine. The air bags did not deploy. The blank warning light was illuminated. A Police report was not filed, and no injuries were reported. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 251.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle unintendedly accelerated. The brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to decelerate. The contact shifted into neutral, and the brake pedal responded as needed. The contact merged to the side of the road. A local dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,060.
Randomly the ac line will freeze over and no air flow will come out of the vents although the fans can be heard working. Issues is not a simple thing to be duplicated and have brought it to 3 ford locations and still having the issue. They won’t attempt to repair anything else that could be the issue like the compressor because of fear of ford giving a bad review to the shop and mechanic. Just this week 2/28 I took the vehicle in while issue was happening and once the line defrosted and air flow came back I was again sent away because they could not replicate. This is a huge problem as I cannot defrost or defog my windshield in cold weather.
I have only had this vehicle for maybe 300-400 miles. Bought it new. Three times I’ve had the parking break engage on its own when trying to accelerate at intersections. For no reason the red parking break will light up and cause the truck to screech to a hault, then disengages when I engage the throttle again. I’ve not noticed any messages in the instrument cluster beyond the red parking light indicator. It’s intermittent and I’ve been unable to figure the triggers to recreate, but I’m scared about this happening at a time when it would cause a serious accident with my kids in the truck.
So I was driving for an hour & it felt like my AC went out. You could hear the AC blowing but it felt like it was restricted through the air vent. I had it on 7 & it felt like I had it on 1 the air was barely coming out. You could definitely hear the air trying to blow when I raised it up to 7 but no air was getting thru the vents. Felt like it clogged up. Also the temperature of the very little air that was coming through the vent was warm. So I had to lower down the windows just to get fresh air in the cab as my family was complaining it was getting hot. All of this happening at 550 miles
Bought brand new truck in December 2023. Immediately the Air/AC/Heat would intermittingly malfunction resulting in inability to defrost windshield. This resulted in hindering the drivers visibility, automatic emergency braking, front camera visibility, and other safety features. If the AC/Heat malfunctions at a time of need for defrosting/defogging the windshield, it will put anyone in the vicinity of the moving vehicle at risk. Truck was taken into the dealership during this malfunctioning period 3 different times over 2 or 3 months. The first time a service technician diagnosed a failed module, module was replaced but did not fix the issue. The second time, the service manager and shop supervisor diagnosed a failed temp senser inside the HVAC system. Senser was reading below freezing levels, supervisor took a picture of the reading to show the electrical tech. This would cause the HVAC system to give incorrect readings to other components. After further diagnosing from the dealerships master electrical tech during the second time, tech deemed it to need an update and recalibration. Update & recalibration was completed but did not fix the issue. during the third time, the Ford Engineer, shop supervisor and master electrical tech inspected the truck and BELIEVED replacing HVAC would fix issue. It is unknown if issues were diagnosed to be failing or if it a guess. HVAC has not been replaced due to no known acknowledgement from Ford into this issue. They will replace HVAC with the exact SAME part. After discussing with other Ford owners, the same issue occurs in 2023 Ford Expedition. Multiple videos were taking over this 2–3 month timeframe, before and after multiple attempts by dealership attempting to fix the issue. Vehicle has not been inspected by police, insurance reps, or others. Warning lamps/messages displayed "Front Camera Low Visibility Clean Screen" during period of malfunctioning.
The a/c fails to operate in hot weather. You can hear the internal fans blowing, but no air comes out when it is hot outside, and the car idles for a few minutes. Has been in the shop twice to fix this.
Vehicle accelerates at low speeds when applying brake. It has happened 3 times in the past 6 months. Dealer was contacted and said no reports of this issue were on file. Most recent incident resulted in a minor collision.

The contact owned a 2023 Ford F150. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at 70 MPH, the driver's side wheel and axle detached, the driver lost control, and she crashed into the guard rail. There were no warning lights illuminated. The driver sustained injuries to her body, including burns, bruises, and neck and shoulder pain. The driver received medical attention in the emergency room. The air bags were deployed. There was no reported fire. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not informed about the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 178.
During rain and snow events, water leaks into the interior of the vehicle through the roof area. The intrusion appears to occur during moderate to heavy precipitation and results in water collecting inside the cabin. This moisture has led to a persistent, moldy odor throughout the vehicle. The presence of mold poses a health concern, especially for my children and family members who ride in the truck. We are concerned about the potential inhalation of mold-contaminated air and the associated respiratory risks. This issue affects the safe and healthy use of the vehicle and requires attention, as the leak continues to worsen over time. First noticed this issue February of 2024, ongoing
When selecting the tow menu on the display if you select trailer tpms or try to use the down button to scroll the instrument cluster will blank out and reboot while you are driving. You loose the entire cluster so you cannot see speed or anything.
On [XXX] as I was going in reverse the car started to accelerate out of control, I pumped the breaks and it increased speed, I then tried to power down truck and that did not work. My vehicle ended up going in ditch backwards and I hit a mailbox and ditch. Earlier in the week when I went to go from reverse to forward it felt like it was locked and then it would engage. I do not feel this is safe and will not ride the vehicle as I think there is something wrong mechanically with the truck. Police report will be uploaded in 1-2 days. While driving random chiming occurs intermittently. No fault recorded or seen on dash. Second issue has happened 3x since purchase, dash cluster shut down or cycled power or reset while driving. This to me is a safety issue.
Shortly after purchasing my new 2023 F150 Lariat (In December 2023), I noticed that the Driver side Sun Visor was extremely loose when moving the visor from the center mount to the block the sun from coming in from the side window. I noticed that the visor was bouncing in the mount (near the A-piller). I put my hand on it and it felt as if it was about to fall out. Checked the passenger side and same thing. Tried tightening the screw and no joy. There is no way that someone installed these things and didn't notice. I had a 21 XLT and didn't have this problem. I had it in the dealer twice. I tried to secure it, but didn't help. The dealer attempted to fix but then they told me it was normal. When I was leaving the dealer, I moved the driver's visor and it fell out of the mount. They put it back in and ordered a new retention nut and screw. A few months later they replaced the parts but the visors were sloppy loose. The driver side fell out again (fortunately I wasn't driving). I wound up coming up with a fix myself. In any case, If the visor falls out when someone is driving, it can absolutely cause a major distraction and possible accident. Mine is not the only vehicle that has this issue. I started a thread and received numerous responses. [XXX] . I'm sure that there are thousands of trucks out there with this issue. Rumbling vibration in the front end when driving in temps below 30 degrees F. Appears to start and stop intermittently. Searching F150 owner forums reveals numerous other owners experiencing the same issue.
I experienced a complete brake failure.
The front transfer case or wheel ends will grind causing vibration and an audible growl when the outside temperature is below 32 degrees and driven first thing in the morning before the internal components have had a chance to come up to normal operating temperature. I suspect the hubs are either not fully engaging or disengaging and thus causing the grinding. This happens regularly in the AM and will last for 30sec to 2 minutes unless you press the 4 wheel high button. This is a saftey concern due to the fact that components are being prematurely worn and at risk of sudden failure resulting in the inability of operation. No error codes or warning lights.
Burring noise coming from front end - seems 4 wheel drive partially engages approximately 2-5 miles down the road after a cold start. Hitting the 4x4 button and transitioning to 4x4 alleviates the noise. Seems to happen during cold weather. Reading online, it looks to be an issue affecting the IEW for the 4x4.
Problem affecting my 2023 f-150 along with many other owners who have 4wd and are in cold climates. See [XXX] for more. This pertains to the Electronic integrated wheel end (EIWE). In cold weather, vehicle begins to actuate the EIWE causing a grinding writhing the hub of the F-150. This grinding takes place while driving in 2H, or can be replicated by shifting from 4H back to 2H. The truck will then make the grinding noise for about 15 to 30 seconds. Ford has no fix at this time but a recall must take place to fix this faulty system! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Purchased the new truck 12/21/23 within a week or two all the Adas signals and chimes continued to flash. A sensor was ordered and arrived months later and was installed. The problems never stopped. Besides the signals all flashing my blind spot in my mirrors stopped working. The dangerous issue is that while I am driving all of a sudden at any given moment my vehicle loses power and it stops accelerating. I am afraid to drive my new vehicle because I am affraid of pulling out of my driveway or driving on the highway trying to change lanes I am going to lose power and get hit by someone. This truck is not safe to drive.
Cruise control button only requires 1 touch to engage. old system required to turn on and then set. it would be to bad, however button is on left side of wheel and is easily accidently engaged. It has happened many times in 2 months of ownership. Dealer and ford won't act. this thing will engage i have had approaching curves and even stop signs. I'm very disappointed with 2 aspects of truck remote tailgate drop another hazard and cruise control. please notify ford of this problem.
The screen in the dash consistently does not work. It's goes blank, turns blue, or continuously restarts. This screen contains the backup camera, backup camera for the pro trailer feature, climate controls, and radio. The wireless App projection also does not work. Unable to use rear view camera. Contacted Ford and was told this is "a nightmare" and "there are currently no known fixes". This is a known issue from Ford and causes significant risk to the consumer and other drivers on the road. I've contacted Ford Corporate after my dealership could not help me and I was given the same response, but in more politically correct terms.
IWE four wheel drive system is engaging while driving the vehicle. Rough shaking in the front end of vehicle and grinding noise while driving. Ford has acknowledged there is a defect but the truck is operating normally and they are trying to fix the issue. Initially I was told it was unsafe to drive , but now that they do not know how to fix the issues they told me to just drive it until it completely breaks down. This is very unsafe. The vehicle is a 2023 F150 with 6,000 miles
The headlights in cars that use these super bright ass lights are ridiculous! They need to be changed into normal headlights. The lights in auto parts stores say for offroad use only! The lights in cars now , they are brighter than the ones with the offroad use only warning. Please fix this crap. We can't see when there's oncoming traffic. It's going to cause much more than just accidents. Fix it.
WHITSTLING NOISE COMING FROM TRANSMISSION. NOISE BECOMES LOUDER WHEN TRANSMISSION IS WARM. NOTICED ON DAY OF PURCHASE AFTER DRIVING HOME. HAVE BROUGHT TO DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES FOR ISSUE. NOISE PROGRESSIVELY GETTING WORSE/ LOUDER WITH MILEAGE IN ADDITION TO ABOVE. VEHICLE IS ALSO SHIFTING HARD IN LOWER GEARS WHEN DOWNSHIFTING. VEHICLE IS ALSO HAVING ISSUE WITH TRAILER CONNECTION/ BREAK SYSTEM. CAN PROVIDE VIDEOS OF ISSUES UPON REQUEST.

When it’s below freezing, I am experiencing a loud humming/rumbling noise while driving. It last for a mile or two then stop. I haven't drove the vehicle much in fear or damaging anything. There are 2 other vehicle in my area experiencing the same issue & they have the same vehicle. I've been to dealer, they werent able to duplicate the issue but informed me a sales advisor there with the same truck is also having this issue but havent found a fix as it continues to happen. There are many compliants and videos online regarding this issue. Ford need to open an inverstigation into this issue and provide a recall/remedy.
We just purchased this truck through our business and have complained to the dealer. The dealer made a claim through Ford and Ford responded by stating they will not repair/replace the windshield. They claim that our issue with the extremely distorted view when the sun hits is caused by an outside force. This is extremely disappointing to say the least and leaves us with a bad impression/customer experience. This truck was delivered to us this way, brand new and we made the complaint right away. We have not had an incident yet, but as the sun is more apparent the probability of an accident becomes more likely. If there is anyway you can help, please advise.
Whenever temperatures are below freezing, the TCCM engages the front IWE system and hubs to warm up for the first 2 miles of driving. However, when the system disengages, the hubs are not fully disengaging from the IWE shaft and a loud grinding noise happens. I have taken my vehicle to the Ford dealer and they gave a contradictory answer by saying that it was a “issue,” but that it was “operating normally.“ It is definitely not normal and they know it is a defective system that is damaging the drive system on a brand new vehicle with less than 800 miles on it.
The truck has a grinding noise in the front end that goes way after switching it into 4WD and then back to 2WD. The is also a smell of metal heating up. I took it to a Ford dealer to have it fixed. The dealer said it was a bad IWE and parts were on backorder. Once they came in I took the truck back to the dealer to have it repaired and they advised me that Ford had put a halt on them repairing the IWE.
The 360 camara does not always come on for several minutes after starting up. This prevents me from using the bachup canera and therefore I ciuld run over something or somebody when backing out of my garage or out if a parking spot. I have taken the truck in to to different dealers and all they say is they can't duplicate the problem. I even show them a viseo of it happening to me but say they have to see it to fix it. I see all of the ford SUV's are on recall, so wht aren't the F150's? This is a very dangerous situation that needs to be corrected asap. I swe many owners on tge internet with the same problem. Please help!
My truck worked fine for six months and then Ford did an update(power up) on December 14, 2023. On December 15, 2023 I took my truck to a dealership to find out why my phone, making and receiving calls, produced a static response. In order to make phone calls, I need to stop my vehicle, turn off the vehicle and open and close the door. Dealership techs had no idea why. Have talked to Ford Motors half a dozen times since then and was told Ford is aware of the problem, most likely caused by the December 14, 2023 update. Six weeks later and each time I have called I'm told that Ford is working on it. My call yesterday left me with the impression that Ford isn't all that interested in resolving the matter. Why isn't there a recall on this problem, since I'm told the static on cell phone calls through the sync 4 system is quite common.Thank you.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 45 MPH and slowing down to make a right turn, the vehicle independently activated the brake and jerked the vehicle to the left. The contact lost control of the vehicle and stated that the vehicle climbed the curb on the passenger side. The contact stopped the vehicle and stated that there was no damage. The contact stated that a crash warning and the parking brake lights were illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle had been repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V509000 (Parking Brake) in November 2023 and related the failure to the recall. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 8,762.
Loud humming noise coming from the driver side front end. It comes on randomly when temps are below freezing. It is something near the wheel such, likely the IWE as it grows higher pitch at higher speeds and lower at lower at lower speeds. When you hit the button to go from 2H to 4H or switching to 4 wheel drive, the humming goes away. Switching back to 2 wheel drive and it comes back sometimes. I see a lot of posts online with others having the same similar issue. This is on a 2023 xlt f150 with the 2.7 liter ecoboost. I contacted the dealer and they are aware of the issue but have not heard of any solutions from Ford. It does not appear to be a formal recall issue yet, but my guess is that it is something that should be recalled. This noise is fairly loud, I can send a recording of it. It also makes the steering wheel shake a little bit with it happening, fairly minor, but obviously not good. Sounds like they need a redesign on the electronic IWE.
The sunroof of the vehicle spontaneously shattered. At 65mph Glass rained down on myself (driver) and my occupants. Nothing impacted the roof of the vehicle. The sunroof just exploded, causing a loud bang, and prompting me to break quickly. Sharp shards of glass went all over the vehicle focused on the backseat.
Loud buzzing noise interrupts driver focus. This happens intermittently, but has occurred while braking at busy intersections, while backing into urban parking spaces, while attempting to use the camera for safe maneuvering - or just at random times while driving. Navigation has been interrupted, preventing the ability to make safe decisions to arrive at a desired location. Voice-based services have been interrupted, prompting the need for physical interaction (which entices the driver away from hands-free operation and taking their eyes off the road). Backup camera has been disabled (blank screen) while switching to Reverse preventing detection of objects behind the vehicle. Infotainment/vehicle operations are disrupted while system randomly reboots (and often buzzes loudly). Additional issues render the audio system as annoying, buzzing during songs whether on Carplay or via USB music. The optional (and expensive) B&O Unleashed audio system has been rendered almost useless. Noise has been so disruptive as to startle me during operation of the vehicle on multiple occasions since purchasing the vehicle in July 2023. Updates have been hinted at to address this problem but have not been delivered or realized - and yes Auto Update is on and I'm manually checking for updates as well. October OTA did not address this issue (and may have made it worse - although my high hopes for this update may have just increased my annoyance at its persistence). I have reported this to my Ford dealer. Date listed below is last occurrence.
This vehicle is equipped with Blue Cruise, a hands-free driving feature. While in hands-free drive mode (Blue Cruise), the vehicle abruptly disengaged and aggressively pulled off the highway. In icy conditions and at high speeds. This is abnormal for the system. Typically, if the Blue Cruise disengages, it gives a timed warning, about 5-10 seconds, and then will disengage. This was dangerously different. The dealership serviced the vehicle and updated the system. However, Blue C still wanders in the lane and randomly disconnects. With the Blue Cruise system turned off/disengaged and the adaptive cruise control engaged, the system also acts erratically, randomly disengaging for no reason.
IWE issues in 2WD mode, experiencing random vibration from the front end, particularly when cold 32 degrees and below. Vibration wont stop until you pull over and stop vehicle. Sounds like hitting rumble strips. It is an intermittent problem. It has happened so far 3 times since ownership. Once in Decemeber, February, and March with each time 2 miles away from my home and the temps being 32 degrees and below. There are numerous reports on this problem with the 2023 F150 on the f-150 forum page. Some users have tagged ford as they posted their frustration over this annoying problem. You pay so much for these vehicles only to be left with additional problems and the company not doing anything for you to remedy the issue. These vehicles are are mortgages anymore.
while driving in gears between 8-10 I experienced a loss of power (Possible mis-firing) while at speed between 50-60 miles per hour. This occurs every time the vehicle is driven.
When driving my truck using adaptive speed control. Vehicle reacts as it should to speed limit signs until it sees any sign with the number 80 on it, e.g.- state hwy. 80. As soon as it reads the number 80 it immediately accelerates to 80 mph. This happens no matter what speed zone you are in. I called Ford motor company and they referred me to my local dealership. The dealership said they were aware of the problem because one of their managers had the same issue with his vehicle. They told me that the Ford tech. told him to shut it off if that happens. I don't believe this is a viable fix because you never know when it is going to happen. This will happen anytime it sees the number 80 whether you are in a 25 mph zone, a 55 mph or any speed zone. This is a very dangerous situation for both occupants and pedestrians. I just got off an hour long phone call with Ford vehicle technology assist and they insist I find my own solution by going to local dealerships. I know for sure this condition affects at least two but more than likely thousands of vehicles. Please look in to this before somebody gets killed. I can tell Ford is not going to.
Truck is not capable of intermittent temperature settings. It is either HOT or COLD. Setting manually to 63 degrees and it’s blowing 80 degree air. the final setting, towards the colder option is LO, and that blows ambient air, in this case cold. So. You options are COLD or HOT making maintaining a reasonable temperature in the cabin and clear windows impossible.
The contact owns a 2023 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance system engaged while there was no other vehicle nearby. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle turned off temporarily while driving on the same day. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the cause of the failure could not be determined. The dealer performed several software updates: however, the failure reoccurred. The contact stated that while driving 65 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance system engaged while there was no vehicle nearby. The contact stated that the vehicle turned off temporarily later that day. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was filed. The manufacturer advised the contact to take the vehicle back to the dealer, and to contact the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.
Loud vibration while driving, similar to passing over a rumble strip, believed to originate from IWES operating in colder weather. Fear of damage from grinding parts effecting operation of 4WD system.
