TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 FORD F-250. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SEAT BELT WOULD EXPERIENCE DIFFICULTY LATCHING INTO THE BUCKLE. THE FAILURE PROGRESSED UNTIL THE SEAT BELT COULD NO LONGER BE REMOVED FROM THE BUCKLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

CONSUMERS VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION AT 55 MPH, HOWEVER THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY, AS A RESULT THE CONSUMER SUSTAINED A BROKEN NECK AND CLOSED HEAD INJURIES. NLM
MY FORD TRUCK WAS IMPACTED AT 55 MILES AN HOUR HEAD-ON. I KNOW OF AT LEAST FOUR OTHER PEOPLE PERSONALLY, WHOSE FORD AIRBAGS DID NOT BEEN EMPLOYED ON THEIR TRUCKS DURING COLLISION. YET I SEE NO REPORTS ON THE NTSA AS FAR AS AS COMPLAINTS GO. I KNOW THAT THERE'S A PROBLEM AND I HAVE A FEELING THAT YOU DO TOO WAND IT'S NOT BEEN REPORTED. I INTEND ON CONTACTING MY CONGRESSMAN ABOUT THE NHTSA'S LACK OF RECOGNITION IN THIS PROBLEM. MY CAREER WAS ENDED BY A 55 MILES AN HOUR HEAD-ON IMPACT IN MY FORD TRUCK. ON 2/10/01 I WAS INVOLVED IN A ONE CAR ACCIDENT IN THE FOOTHILLS NORTH OF BOULDER CO, WENT OFF A CURVE, ROLLED AN EMBANKMENT AND LANDED IN A RIVER. AIRBAGS DID NOT ACTIVATE. SUFFERED MUTIPLE BROKEN FACIAL BONES. HAVE PICTURES TO PROVE THIS. PLEASE CONTACT.*AK

WHEN FORD WAS CONTATCED AND IT WAS REQUESTED THEY EXAMINE THE VEHICLE TO DETERMINE CAUSE OF FAILURE AND TO ENSURE THAT THERE WOULD BE NO SUBSEQUENT PROBLEMS, THEY DECLINED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE RAIN PULLING A 30' CAMPER FOOT AIR STREAM, ANOTHER VEHICLE IN FRONT LOST CONTROL, CAME ACROSS THE MEDIAN, SPINNING/STRUCK THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE. UPON IMPACT, NEITHER AIRBAG DEPLOYED. CONTACTED MANUFACTURER AND DEALER, THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO HELP. *AK *ML
WHEN THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT BELTS ARE IN USE, THEY WOULD TIGHTEN UP FOR NO REASON. WOULD HAVE NO WARNING WHEN THIS WOULD HAPPEN. THE LOCKING MECHANISM ON THE SEAT WOULD FAIL TO RELEASE THE BELT. WOULD HAVE CUT THE BELT TO RELEASE INDIVIDUAL. BRAKES WERE USED AT TIME OF TIGHTENING INCIDENT. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER & MECHANIC ORDERED A NEW BELT SYSTEM FOR REAR OF VEHICLE. *AK *YC
DRIVER'S AUTOMATIC SEAT BELT DOES NOT PROPERLY FIT THE DRIVER, IT COMES ACROSS THE NECK AND NOT THE SHOULDER. DEALER STATES THAT THISIS A MANUFACTURES DESIGN FLAW. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
