WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE DASH CONTROLS, WINDOWS, RADIO ALL SHUT OFF AND TURN BACK ON OCCASIONALLY. IF THE VEHICLE STARTS AND THE CONTROLS ARE NOT CURRENTLY WORKING THE TRUCK IDLES HIGH AND CHUGS. WHEN GAGES ARE NOT WORKING THE BATTERY DOES NOT CHANGE EITHER. THE GAGES SHUT OFF WHILE MOVING, NOT MOVING AND AT TIME S ARE OFF RIGHT WHEN THE TRUCK STARTS. DOES IT WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT, TURNING, BACK ROADS HIGHWAY AND ALSO DRIVEWAY. WHILE LOOKING ON GOOGLE THERE HAVE BEEN AT LEAST 30 OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME EXACT ISSUE WITHOUT A 100% FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. FORD NEEDS TO INSPECT AND FIND A WAY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.
STALLING 2006 FORD F-250 6.0 DIESEL, I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WITH MY 2 BOYS DOING PROBLAY 60 MPH IN A 65MPH ZONE WHEN I NOTICED THAT THE TRUCK STARTED FIRST SEEMED TO LOOSE POWER THEN SPURTED, THEN 20SECONDS LATER THE RPMS DROPPED FINDING MY SELF WITHOUT NO CONTROL OF THE TRUCK WHAT SO EVER, MEANING IT HAD NO POWER BRAKES NO STEERING AND THE ENGINE COMPLETLY SHUT OFF ! , COASTING TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY BARELY MAKING IT WITHOUT GETTING REAR ENDED ! I COULDNT BELIEVE THIS. I GOT TO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY AND TRIED FOR A GOOD 5 TO 7 MINUTES BEFORE CALLING TRIPLE A FOR A TOW, THEN WHILE WAITING FOR THEM TO ARRIVE I TRIED IT ONCE AGAIN TO START THE TRUCK AND GIVE IT GAS WHILE DOING SO IT FIRED UP BUT FOR ABOUT 15 SECONDS IT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS FIRING ON 4 CYLINDERS OR MISFIRING THEN IT WENT BACK TO NORMAL AND MADE IT HOME. I THEN TOOK THE VEHILE TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP, I DON'T KNOW AS OF YET WHATS WRONG WITH IT BUT I CAN TELL YOU I WAS SCARED OVER THIS HAPPENING!

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE REAR LIGHTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT THERE WAS AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

MY FORD F250 SUPER DUTY 2006 MODEL TRUCK STARTED UP JUST FINE ON WAY TO JOB SITE AND THEN ABOUT 1:00 P.M. THAT DAY MY TRUCK OVER-HEATED EVEN THOUGH NO INDICATION ON THE ELECTRICAL PANEL. I SAW WHITE SMOKE COMING OUT OF TAIL PIPE, STARTED OVER-HEATING, AND I WAS LOSING POWER IN MOTOR. I PUT WATER IN COOLANT OVER-FILL BECAUSE ALL OF MY ANTIFREEZE DRAINED OUT AND I JUST HAD PUT IN PRIOR TO THIS DATE ABOVE ABOUT TWO WEEKS. I REGULARLY CHANGE THE OIL AND MAINTAIN ALL THE FLUIDS AND DO REQUIRED MAINTENANCE ON TRUCK PER THE MILEAGE. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO MY HOUSE WHERE I WAITED 30 MINUTES FOR TRUCK TO COOL AND THEN DROVE IMMEDIATELY TO DIESEL MECHANIC NAMED [XXX] WHO KNEW IMMEDIATELY WHAT HAD HAPPENED BECAUSE (6) OTHER TRUCKS CAME IN THE SAME WEEK WITH THE SAME ISSUE WHICH WAS TO REPLACE THE EGR'S AND ALSO THE OIL COOLER. MY BILL FOR THIS WAS OVER $3,000.00. I WAS VERY LUCKY THAT I HAD WORK AND WAS ABLE TO PAY FOR THIS HUGE EXPENSE OTHERWISE I WOULD BE OUT-OF-POCKET IN A BAD WAY BECAUSE THE TRUCK IS MY LIVELIHOOD IN MY MAKING MONEY AS I AM A GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND NEED A HEAVY DUTY TRUCK. I THINK THAT THERE SHOULD BE A RE-CALL ON THIS PART BECAUSE OF THE SIX OTHER TRUCKS THAT CAME INTO HIS DIESEL SHOP THE SAME WEEK. THIS WAS A VERY EXPENSIVE EXPERIENCE AND I FEEL LIKE FORD SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS AND CORRECT THE ERROR BECAUSE THIS PART SHOULD NOT GO OUT ON A SUPER DUTY TRUCK LIKE THIS. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED A SECOND TIME AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER ADVISED THE FAILURE WAS AN ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT WITH THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING UNKNOWN REPAIRS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 75,550.

THE DEALER TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. A REPORT WAS FILED WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY STATED THAT THE DEALER WOULD CALL THE CONTACT WITHIN FOUR DAYS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE EGR COOLER WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IF THE GAUGES HAD BEEN WORKING PROPERLY, SHE WOULD HAVE BEEN ALERTED TO THE EGR COOLER FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,000.
