The contact owns a 2008 Ford F-250. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed over a bump in the roadway, there was an abnormal sound coming from underneath the vehicle. The contact inspected underneath the vehicle and became aware that the rubber body mounts were deteriorating and detaching from the frame of the vehicle. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
All the fiberglass Bkack trim and the Gray door panels and the middle armrest are causing skin irritation to any person that come in touch with them. I havee owned this Truck for so many years, the problem started about 4 years ago, since I only use it for towing the camper I have ignored the issue for sure this very inconvenient to sell a vehicle with only 87k because of the manufactur cheap trim or other oweners didn't complain and ignored the issue. I have not taken the Truck to the Ford dealer because I have know doubt in my mind that they will tell me it's an 18 years old vehicle get another one. Yes I have the vehicle available for inspection at anytime. Thank you very much for taking the time to read my complaint.
THE BED RAILS THAT ATTACH THE BED TO THE FRAME ARE ROTTEN AND ARE DETACHED FROM EACH OTHER . THE BED FRAME MOUNTS ARE RUSTING OFF FROM THE BED ITSELF . NO OTHER RUSTING ON THE TRUCK EXCEPT FOR ONE SPOT ON THE OUTER PASSENGER SIDE BED WHEEL WELL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-250 SD. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BUSHINGS THAT CONNECT THE BED OF THE TRUCK TO THE FRAME HAD DETERIORATED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD F-250. THE VEHICLE HAS A 2006 PILOT TRAILER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRAILER CABLE THAT HOOKS ONTO THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE FAILED. THE ORIGINAL DESIGN WAS FLAWED AND CAUSED HIM TO LOSE THE TRAILER LIGHTS, AS WELL AS UNNECESSARY WEAR AND TEAR TO THE BRAKING SYSTEM. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE LESS THAN 1,200. I OWN A FORD F250, MY COMPLAINT IS ABOUT A 7 PIN TRAILER PLUG, WHAT HAPPENS IS THAT THE PLUG FALLS OFF THE CONNECTOR AS I AM DRIVING. I HAVE NOTICED THAT FORD CHANGED THERE DESIGN ON THE PLUG, THEY TURNED IT TO THE RIGHT SO THE LOCK IS SIDE, INSTEAD OF BEING ON THE TOP. I HAVE TRY TO TALK TO FORD ABOUT THIS AND THEY SAY THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO. I DO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, I LOOSE MY BRAKES TO MY TRAILER EVERYTIME THIS HAPPENS MAKING IT VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WATER WAS ENTERING THROUGH THE CABIN AND HE WAS CONCERNED THAT IT MIGHT POTENTIALLY LEAK THROUGH THE MOON ROOF. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE CAUSED A STRONG MILDEW ODOR IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON MORE THAN TWO OCCASIONS WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5.
EVERYTIME I DRIVE AND THERE ARE 'WHOOPS' IN THE ROAD, MY TRUCK VIOLENTLY BOUNCES.THIS HAPPENS EVERYTIME. AND MY STEERING FEELS VERY LOOSE FROM IT. I CAN SEE MY FRONT TIRES SHAKING HARD, LIKE THEY'RE ABOUT TO FLY OFF THE WHEEL STUDS. IT STARTED ABOUT A MONTH AGO IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD ROADS. *TR
IN THE 2008 FORD SUPER DUTY PICKUP (ALL BODY STYLES) THE DRIVER AND ALL PASSENGERS EXCEPT THE CENTER SEAT ARE APPROXIMATELY 50% IN THE CRUSH ZONE IN THE CASE OF A SIDE CRASH. THIS RENDERS THESE CONSUMERS VERY LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE SEVERE HEAD AND CHEST TRAUMA, OR MORE LIKELY DEATH IN THE CASE OF A SIDE CRASH. THIS WAS DISCOVERED NO LATER THAN 13 MONTHS BEFORE BEING RELEASED INTO THE PUBLIC, BUT THE PROGRAM LEVEL MANAGERS IN THE COMPANY CONTINUED AND EVENTUALLY LAUNCHED A VEHICLE WITH A KNOWN RISK OF FATALITIES. THE DESIGN IS BEING CHANGED IN 2010 TO PREVENT DETECTION BY NEW FMVSS TESTING ON LIGHT TRUCKS. (SIDE POLE) THE TREAD ACT WAS DESIGNED TO ENSURE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR RECKLESSLY ENDANGERING THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF CONSUMERS BY REQUIRING AUTO COMPANIES TO IMMEDIATELY NOTIFY NHTSA AS SOON AS A DANGER IS DISCOVERED. IN THE CASE OF THE 2008 SUPER DUTY F SERIES, THE SIDE IMPACT DANGER WAS A KNOWN RISK LONG BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS INTRODUCED TO THE PUBLIC, AND THE COMPANY CONTROLS WERE USED TO PROTECT THE DESIGN FROM SCRUTINY, THUS ENDANGERING LIVES. GIVEN THE PLANNED VOLUME OF 400,000 PER YEAR, THIS DESIGN FLAW MERITS THE MAXIMUM $15,000,000 FINE FOR THIS VIOLATION.
