THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS WITH DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG AND SAFETY BELT. WHEN INVOLVED IN AN HEAD-ON COLLISION, AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY, AND SAFETY BELT FAILED TO LOCK UP. THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK
WHEN DRIVING AT 2,000 OR 2,500 RPM'S THE VEHICLE VIBRATES SO BADLY THAT FEET GOT NUMB. DEALER CONTACTED,AND CANNOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. PROBLEM STILL EXIST. PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL ON & IT WOULD FAIL TO RELEASE WHEN BRAKE PEDAL OR ACCELERATOR PEDAL WERE TOUCHED. WOULD PRESS THE DECELERATOR BUTTON, BUT THAT FAILED TO RELEASE CRUISE CONTROL. PROBLEM IS INTERMITTENT. BEEN TO DEALER & INFORMED BY MECHANIC THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD BE DONE & TO WAIT TO SEE IF RECALL WILL HAPPEN. *YC
I AM NOT THE ONLY FORD F-350 TRUCK OWNER HAVING THESE CLUTCH PROBLEMS. I HAVE TALKED TO SEVERAL GUYS WHO HAVE PUT 3 OR MORE CLUTCHES REPLACED UNDER 100,000 MILES. THERE IS DEFINATELY A PROBLEM WITH THESE CLUTCH ASSEMBLIES. THESE TRUCKS ARE SOLD AS SUPER-DUTY WORK TRUCKS, BUT ARE NOT WITHSTANDING THE WORKLOADS THEY ARE SUPPOSEDLY BUILT FOR. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO SATISFACTION. I FEEL A RECALL SHOULD BE IN ORDER.
ON OCTOBER 17, 1998 AFTER DRIVING ON A US MONTANA 300 MILES I HAD A FRONT PASSENGER TIRE BLOW OUT. THE LAST I RECALL WAS JERKING THE WHEEL AND WHEN I CORRECTED I STRUCK A SMALL IRRIGATION BRIDGE IN THE ON COMING LANE CAUSING MY TRUCK TO ROLL. THIS CAUSED ME TO FRACTURE MY SKULL, BREAK MY NECK, AND BE HOSPITILIZED FOR SEVEN WEEKS. I HAD AN ENGINEER, WHO IS A PRIVATE CONSULTANT FOR GOODYEAR, EXAMINE THE PHOTOGRAPHS OF MY TIRE AND SENT ME A REPORT SAYING THE TIRE FAILED DUE TO LW AIR PRESSURE. I HAD MY TIRE CHECKED BY A CERTIFIED FORD DEALERSHIP THE DAY PRIOR TO MY ACCIDENT AND I HAVE PROOF OF THAT. IF THIS TIRE IS THE FAULT OF GOODYEAR IT SHOULD BE RECALLED BEFORE OTHERS NEARLY DIE LIKE I DID. I HAVE TWO PEICES OF THE TIRE AND THE RIM IN MY POSSESSION. THE ENGINEER SAID IF I FOUND THE TIRE I MAY FIND MELTED NYLON ON THE SIDEWALL WHICH I DID FIND THE TIRE. IT DOES HAVE MELTED NYLON ON THE RUBBER AND IT IS A 360 DEGREE SEPERATION WITH THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE TIRE STILL ON THE RIM AND THE TREAD SECTION MISSING. *AK( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: 235/85R16 )
I NEARLY DIED AS A RESULT OF A FRONT, PASSENGER TIRE THAT FAILED CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO LEAVE THE ROADWAY AFTER I TRIED TO CORRECT AFTER THE BLOWOUT. I STRUCK THE END OF AN IRRIGATION BRIDGE AND ROLLED MY TRUCK, BREAKING MY NECK, FRACTURING MY SKULL AND BEING HOSPITILIZED FOR SEVEN WEEKS. I HAD A PRIVATE ENGINEER WHO IS A CONSULTANT FOR GOODYEAR LOOK AT THE PHOTOGRAPHS OF MY TIRE AND GIVE A REPORT THAT IT WAS A FAILURE DUE TO RUNNING LOW ON AIR. I HAD MY TIRE PRESSURE CHECKED 1 DAY PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT AND HAVE PROOF OF THAT. I FOUND TWO PARTS OF THE TIRE AND THE WHEEL RECENTLY AND AS THE ENGINEER SAID I WOULD FIND MELT NYLON ON THE SIDEWALL, I DID FIND MELTED NYLON. VEHICLE GIVES A LOUD METALLIC KNOCKING SOUND FROM THE TRANSMISSION/ FLYWHEEL AREA GIVES SLUGGISH PERFORMANCE AND TRANSMISSION SLIPPAGE.
DRIVING AT 25 MPH HIT SOMETHING IN THE ROAD,LOST POWER STEERING/BRAKES . THE CONSUMER USED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND SLOWED THE VEHICLE DOWN, THE CONSUMER HAD POWER STEERING/BRAKE RADIATOR REPLACED, DEALER CAN'T DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. *AK
EXTERIOR MIRRORS ARE NOT ALLOWING CONSUMER TO SEE THE BACK END OF VEHICLE WHEN NEEDED. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
WINDSHIELS WIPER HOSES NOT SPRAYING HIGH ENOUGH ON WINDSHIELD TO CLEAN THE WINDSHIELD CAUSING POOR VISIBILITY DURING INCLEMENT CONDITIONS. NLM
THE DRIVER'S CABIN SEAT LOCATION IS OFF CENTER WHICH CAUSES THE STEERING WHEEL TO BE OFF CENTER, AND MISAPPLICATION OF THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDAL. ALSO THE DRIVER'S SEATBELT IS TOO FAR BACK. DEALER IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, BUT NO SOLUTION. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
TRANSMISSION/ENGINE CRANCKSHAFT ARE MISALIGNED. TORQUE CONVERTOR IN BIND. VEHICLE MAKES A METAL GRINDING NOISE. VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE DRIVEN BEFORE WORKING PROPERLY. *AK
WHEN TRAVELING AND UPON DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL CONSUMER NOITCED A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE, CONSUMER ALSO NOTICED PROBLEMS WHEN CARRYING A LOAD. DEALER WAS CONTACTED. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH, GOING INTO A SHARP RIGHT TURN, THE STEERING LOCKED UP, DRIVER WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL OF TRUCK AND DID NOT HAVE A CRASH. TRUCK WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. DEALER STATED THIS WAS DUE TO A BRACKET ON THE TRAILING ARM BREAKING. PARTS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDERED. *AK
BRAKES FAILED CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL.
POWER STEERING PUMP FAILED, CAUSING A LOSS OF CONTROL, PUMP ALSO CONTROLS BRAKES. (QCAW)
WHILE DRIVING AT 20MPH IF A BUMP IS HIT CONSUMER LOSES CONTROL. TRUCK WA SNOT EQIPPED WITH STEERING DAMPNER FROM FACTORY. FORD HOTLINE AND DEALER BOTH TOLD CONSUMER THAT IT WAS A SAFETY NECESSITY. BUT, INSISTED IT WAS ONSUMER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO PAY FOR IT. CONSUMER PAID FOR IT, BUT WANTS REIMBURSEMENT FROM DEALER. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED MANUFACTURER. *AK
BRAKE SHOES WORN OUT AND EMERGENCY BRAKE BURNED.
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 50 MPH CONSUMER RELEASED ACCELERATOR, AND STEPPED ON THE BRAKES PEDAL TO STOP VEHICLE. THE BRAKES PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, FORCING CONSUMER TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. ACCORDING TO CONSUMER, THE BRAKES PROBLEM OCCURRED BECAUSE THE LEFT REAR BRAKE LINE WAS UNPROTECTED. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER. *AK
DUE TO THE EXTREMELY WEAK SHOCKS THE VEHICLE WHILE BEING DRIVEN 50 MPH OR MORE SWAYS FROM THE LEFT LANE INTO THE RIGHT LANE WHICH ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. *AK
ONGOING PROBLEM WITH A CLUNKING SOUND FROM THE FRONT WHILE DRIVING AND PULLING TO THE RIGHT. VEHICLE BEEN IN/OUT OF DEALER'S SHOP ON SEVERALOCCASIONS, AND PROBLEM IS STILL REOCCURRING. *AK
FRONT PASSENGER'S AND THE REAR DRIVER /PASSENGER SEATBELTS TIGHTENED WHILE WEARING THE SEATBELTS SO HARD WHERE THE OCCUPANTS NEEDED TO TAKE OFF THE SEATBELTS, WHICH WON'T PROTECT THE OCCUPANTS IN EVENT OF A CRASH. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
SEALED BEARING FAILURE IN 1999 FORD 350 SUPER DUTY.*MR *CB *JB
CONSUMER THOUGHT THE VEHICLE HAD WHEEL BEARING PROBLEM BECAUSE OF THE NOISE IT MADE WHILE DRIVING. CONSUMER LATER HEISTED THE TRUCK UP AND NOTICED THAT THE TWO FRONT TIRES LOOKED STRANGE. WHEN THE TIRES WERE REPLACED THE NOISE STOPPED. *NM *NM
FIRESTONE STEEL TEX A/T TIRE PROBLEMS.*MR THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED THREE TREAD SEPARATIONS. THE LAST FAILURE CAUSED MAJOR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO GET AN ADJUSTMENT BUT WAS DENIED. *NM
RECALL REPAIR WORK DENIED.
BRAKE SYSTEM FAILED. ALSO, STEERING SYSTEM FAILED DUE TO A FAULTY HYDROBOOST UNIT THAT CONTROLS BRAKES AND STEERING. *AK

VEHICLE PULLING TO THE LEFT UPON APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES CAUSING LOSS OF STEERING ABILITY.
WE HAVE HAD 3 1999 SUPERDUTY'S 6-SPEED DUALLYS WHEN WE BOUGHT THEM. ALL STARTED HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AT ABOUT 3,000 MILES. EVERY TIME THAT YOU WOULD BE GOING DOWN THE ROAD AND YOU TURNED, THE REAR WOULD MAKE A BUMPING AND GRINDING NOISE. YOU CAN HEAR IT ON THE OUTSIDE REAL BAD. WE TOOK THEM TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THEY ALL STARTED LEAKING REAR END OIL. THEY PUT THE PART ON THEM, BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. THE LEAK HAD STOPPED ON ALL OF THEM, BUT THE GRINDING NOISE STILL REMAINED. WE HAD TO LET ONE OF THEM GO BACK BECAUSE IT WAS SO BAD. THE OTHERS ARE STILL DOING HORRIBLE. PLUS, WHEN YOU PUT THEM INTO GEAR, MAINLY IN REVERSE, YOU HEAR THIS GOD AWFUL POPPING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT WHEN YOU START GOING. THEY ALL MAKE THAT GRINDING NOISE IN THE REAR END EVEN WHEN BACKING UP AND TURNING. PLEASE HELP ME. I HAVE TAKEN THESE TRUCKS TO THE DEALERSHIP SO MANY TIMES AND YET THEY STILL ALL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. THANK YOU AGAIN
WHEN TAKING FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND WHEN THE ENGINE RETURNS TO IDLE, ENGINE SHUTS DOWN, CAUSING LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS VEHICLE BEGAN TO LEAK POWER STEERING FLUID WHICH CAUSED LOSS OF POWER STEERING CONTROL. ALSO, POWER STEERING HYDRAULIC UNIT IS CONNECTED TO THE POWER BRAKES WHICH CAUSED THE BRAKE PEDAL TO TRAVEL NEARLY TO THE FLOOR. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK

CREWCAB DULLY WITH SEVERE "CUPPING" OF TIRES. HIGH SPEED VIBRATIONS. NUMEROUS ALIGNMENTS DONE WITH NO CORRECTIVE ACTION. NEW TIRES PURCHASED AND CUPPING, VIBRATIONS AND ALIGNMENT PROBLEMS STILL EXIST. FORD IS NOT RECOGNIZING PROBLEM.( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: LT23585R16 )
SEAT BELT DOES NOT RETRACT PROPERLY ALLOWING STRAP TO GET CAUGHT/STUCK IN DOOR. MJS
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL LOCKED UP, CAUSING VEHICLE TO PULL TO THE LEFT. DEALER HAS REPLACED HAS REPLACED THE 2 FRONT ROTORS. *AK
TURN SIGNAL SWITCH DEACTIVATES TURN SIGNALS WITH ONLY SLIGHT ROTATION OF THE WHEEL. DURING VERY WIDE TURNS OR CURVES SIGNAL DEACTIVATE. THE SWITCH SHOULD ALLOW MORE MOVEMENT OF THE WHEEL BEFORE DEACTIVATION OF SIGNALS.
THE REAR ENDS KEEP LOCKING OR BINDING UP
WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED THE VEHICLE PULLS TO THE LEFT. DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. *AK
