I'VE HAD TO HAVE MY TIRES AND BRAKES REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES AND I STILL FEEL AND HEAR THE NOISE MY BRAKES OR ROTARS OR MAKING. DT
BRAKES DON'T HOLD WHEN APPLIED, ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. UNABLE TO STOP VEHICLE. HAD PART REPLACED SEVERAL TIME. ALSO, FRONT END SHAKES AND THERE IS A KNOCKING NOISE UNDER GAS PEDAL. *AK
WHEN SLIPPERY OUT, THE BRAKES WILL NOT GRASP PROPERLY. THEREFORE, THE VEHICLE WILL SLIDE. DEALER CAN NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM.*AK CONSUMER ALSO EXPERIENCED THESE DIFFICULTIES AS FOLLOWED, POWER STEERING SYSTEM (EXPLODED, W/3-4 WEEK REPAIRS), TRUNK LOCK WAS BROKEN, KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM WORKS IMPROPERLY, THE TRUNK LOCK HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE, THE RADIO HAS BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES & STILL OCCURS, THE WINSHIELD ARM RECENTLY BROKE, AND CONCLUDES THAT THE VEHICLE ALSO SLIDES IN DRY WEATHER. CONSUMER ADDS THAT SHE HAD FILED A COMPLAINT W/ BOARD OF FORD, THE CASE WAS LOST AFTER RECIEVING A LOANER CAR (DUE TO TAKING VEHICLE IN FOR REPAIRS) AND SAYS THAT SHE CANNOT AFFORD TO BUY OUT THE LEASE (WILL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL OCT 2002) *SCC
AFTER 400 MILES BRAKES START TO SQUEAK, CAN HEAR THEM A MILE AWAY. BRAKES HAVE BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES, LAST TIME WAS 2 WEEKS AGO AND THERE WAS SQUEAKING AGAN. CURRENTLY, VEHICLE AT REPAIR SHOP FOR A FOURTH BRAKE REPAIR. CONSUMER FEARS THAT BRAKES MAY GO OUT AT ANYTIME. *AK
CIGARETTE LIGHTER WOULD POP COMPLETELY OUT OF SOCKET ONTO FRONT SEAT/FLOOR OR ONTO REAR SEAT. VEHICLE BEEN TO DEALER ON FIVE OCCASIONS AND PROBLEM STILL OCCURRING. *AK *TT
WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ALONG BETWEEN 40 AND 50 MPH THE MOTOR WILL REV UP AND THE CAR FEELS AS IF IT GOES INTO NEUTRAL. WE HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER 6 TIMES AND EACH TIME THEY KEEP IT FOR A WEEK OR SO AND THEN TELL US THAT THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY PROBLEM WITH IT. AS SOON AS WE CONTINUE TO DRIVE IT THE PROBLEM HAPPENS AGAIN.*AK
WHEN RUNNING AIR CONDITIONER OR HEATER THERE'S A MILDEW SMELL. CONSUMER TOOK CAR TO DEALER, AND DEALER SPRAYED LYSOL INTO VENTING SYSTEM. DEALER STATED THAT SOMETIMES CONDENSATION CLOGS UP IN VENTS, AND DO NOT DRAIN COMPLETELY. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK

WHEN PUTTING VEHICLE IN REVERSE GEAR THERE IS A LOUD NOISE. DEALER CONTACTED.*AK
THESE ARE THE PROBELEMS WITH MY CAR. IT IS ONLY 8 MONTHS OLD, YET THIS CAR HAS HAD REPEATED PROBLEMS. THE FIRST MAJOR PROBLEM IS WITH THE BRAKES. THEY CONTINUALLY SQUEAK AND I WAS TOLD BY FORD THAT IT WAS DUE TO A SAFETY ISSUE. THE BRAKES AND PADS WERE REPLACED YET THE PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED SINCE. I HAVE ALSO MADE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND HAD THE BREAKS DEGLAZED AND SERVICED MANY TIMES ONLY TO HAVE THE PROBLEMS CONTINUE. THE NEXT PROBLEM IS WITH THE VENTALATION. THE ENGINE STRONGLY SMELLS OF BURNING OIL/FUEL. THIS PROBLEM WAS CHECKED AND FIXED THREE TIMES, BUT THIS PROBLEM ALSO CONTINUES. THE SMELL IS SO STRONG INSIDE THE CAR THAT PASSENGERS NOW REFUSE TO RIDE IN THE VEHICLE. THE SMELL IS ALSO VERY STRONG FROM OUT SIDE THE CAR. THE THIRD PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE IS WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. THE LOCK AND LATCH ARE VERY TIGHT AND ARE SOME TIMES IMBOSSIBLE TO TURN OR OPEN WITHOUT EXESSIVE FORCE. THE DOOR HINGES ARE ALSO STIFF. THIS IS A LOT OF FRICTION IN THE HINGES MAKING LOTS OF NOISE AND NOT ALLOWING THE DOOR TO MOVE SMOTHLEY. THE LAST PROBLEM I AM REPORTING IS WITH THE SUSPENSION. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED MORE THAN 5 TIMES AND IT IS STILL A VERY BIG PROBLEM. NEW PARTS HAVE BEEN PUT IN AND THE SQUEAKING AND HUMMING IS STILL VERY LOUD. THERE ARE ALSO LOUD CLANKING NOISES COMING FROM THE SUSPENSION.*AK
REAR WHEELS WOBBLE WHEN CONSUMER IS DRIVING, THIS PROBLEM CAN HAPPEN AT ANY SPEED. CONTACTED DEALER, AND THE DEALER WAS NOT WILLING TO ANYTHING. *AK DEALER PERFORMED RECALL 00S55B REPAIRS. CONSUMER ADDS THAT VEHICLE PULLS TO LEFT AND STEERING WHEEL IS OFF CENTER. *TT
A TRUCK TURNED IN FRONT OF CONSUMER WHO HIT THE TRUCK IN THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE AREA, THE SEATBELT STRAP FAILED, IT EXTENDED INSTEAD OF HOLDING CONSUMER IN PLACE, THE LOCKING MECHANISM ALSO PULLED OUT FROM THE CATCH, THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UNTIL AFTER THE CONSUMER'S CHIN HIT THE STEERING WHEEL, CONSUMER WAS INJURED IN ACCIDENT, VEHICLE HAS $6000 WORTH OF DAMAGE. *SLC
KEY WILL NOT TURN IN IGNITION. THIS WAS FIXED ONCE BEFORE UNDER WARRANTY IN 2001. BUT THE CAR IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY NOW. *N M
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. DEALER IS INSPECTING VEHICLE.*AK
VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A RATTLING NOISE IN THE REAR SUSPENSION, CONSUMER STATED THIS COULD BE ATTRIBUTED TO A NEW WHEEL BEARING THAT WAS ADDED FOR RECALL, ALSO DURING ONE RECALL REPAIR, THE DEALER DAMAGED THE PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT, IT WAS RETURNED IN AN UN-RETRACTABLE POSITION. *SLC
ONGOING PROBLEM WITH ABS WHEN ENGAGE IT CAUSES REAR WHEELS TO LOCK UP INTERMITTENTLY & MOMENTARILY. VEHICLE BEEN IN DEALER SHOP ON TWO OCCASIONS, AND PROBLEM STILL REOCCURRING. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS ON THIS MATTER. *AK
JACK BENT TRYING TO CHANGE A FLAT TIRE. THIS WAS FIRST TIME USING IT. DEALER TOOK JACK AND WOULD REPAIR IT, BUT IT WAS NEVER RETURNED.*AK
BRAKES NOISE RESULTING FROM LARGER THAN NORMAL CHUNK OF METAL IN PAD GROOVING THE LEFT FRONT ROTOR. TRANSMISSION- LEAK AT TRANSMISSION COOLER. SUSPENSION NOISE FRONT- THUMPING WHILE GOING OVER SPEED BUMPS, REAR SQUEEKING. WINDOW TRIM- COMING OFF OR SQUEEKING WHEN ROLLED UP. HEAD LAMP- DROPPING BLACK SILICON INTO SEALED UNIT (VISIBLE). REAR HATCHBACK WINDOW SHATTERED, NO OUTSIDE CAUSE, REAR DEFROST WAS ON AT TIME AND REAR WINDOW WIPER WAS ON. DEALER STATED WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER ALTHOUGH IT WAS NOT CAUSE BY A FOREIGN OBJECT. *AK
CAR HAD BEEN SITTING FOR ABOUT 6 HOURS WHEN IT BURSTED INTO FLAMES. CONSUMER HAD CAR TOWED TO IMPOUND YARD. *AK

WHEN TRYING TO AVIOD A CRASH WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE, VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A FENCE POST HEAD-ON, AND THERE WAS NO DEPLOYMENT OF FRONTAL AIR BAGS. FRONT END OF VEHICLE WAS SMASHED BACK TO RADIATOR. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICKE IN FOR BRAKE NOISE AND GRINDING. DEALERSHIP CLAIMED BRAKES WER FINE. ONCE AGAIN, CONSUMER TOOK BRAKES IN FOR GRINDING NOISE AND DEALERSHIP INFORMED CONSUMER THAT THE VEHILCE NEEDED NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS. *JG
THE BRAKES ON THIS VEHICAL HAVE BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIME SINCE MY PURCHASE. ROTORS, CALIPERS PADS AND SHOES ONCE AT 12,000 MILES , PADS AND SHOES AGAIN AT 23,000. CALIPERS ROTORS AND SHOES AND DRUMS AT 48,000. SOMETHING IS WRONG.*AK
I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER ABOUT THE BRAKES SQUEAKING A WEEK AFTER I BOUGHT THE CAR IN OCT. OF 2000. IT HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLME . MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SERVICE CENTER A NUMBER OF TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR AND A HALF SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. I ALSO MENTIONED THAT THERE A ROARING NOISE COMING FROM SOMEWHERE. THIS PROBLEM WAS NEVER ADDRESSED. THE NOISE HAD RECENTLY GOTTEN UNBEARBABLE. SO I TOOK THE CAR TO TWO INDEPENDENT CAR SHOPS AND THEY BOTH AGRRED THAT BEARINGS ARE GONE AND THAT THIS CAR SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THIS PROBLEM THIS SOON. ONE OF THE CAR SHOPS EVEN CONTACTED A FORD DEALER TO FIND OUT HOW MUCH TIME IT WILL TAKE ACCORDING TO THEIR BOOK TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY DID KNOW BECAUSE THEY HAVE NEVER REPLACED ANY BEARINGS ON THESE CARS BEFORE. I AM VEYR DISAPPOINTED THAT I HAVE HAD TO GO TO GREAT LENGHTS TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM FIXED AND IT STILL HAVE NOT BEEN RESOLVED. *AK
AFTER DRIVING VEHICLE FOR ABOUT AN 1/2 HOUR CONSUMER PARKED AND SHUT OFF ENGINE. AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES, CONSUMER RESTARTED VEHICLE WHEN BRAKES LOCKED UP, AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE CRUISE CONTROL REMAINED IN AN OPEN POSITION AND FAILED TO DISENGAGE. IN ADDITION, EMERGENCY BRAKE RELEASE HANDLE UNDER DASHBOARD CAME LOOSE, AND COVERED BRAKE PEDAL WHICH CAUSED CONSUMER TO RUN A RED LIGHT. DEALERSHIP HAS NOT EXAMINED VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER LEARNED OF RECALL THROUGH THE MEDIA AND NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION CONCERNING THE (00V-303)RECALL, CONSUMER IS NOT SATISFIED WITH THE AMOUNT OF RECALLS ISSUED TO THE VEHICLE AND DOES NOT FEEL SAFE. *MJS

IGNITION SWITCH WENT OUT, CAUSING VEHICLE NOT TO START. DEALER HAS BEEN CONTACTED. *AK BRAKES ALSO FAILED, CONSUMER HAD TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR SOFT BRAKES, HOWEVER DEALER FOUND NO PROBLEMS AND ONE MONTH LATER BRAKE FAILURE OCCURED. *SLC
WHILE TURNING AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON AND CONTINUES TO FLASH, AND WILL NOT GO OFF. LIGHT GOES OFF ONLY WHEN VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF. *AK
AIR CONDITIONING UNIT EMITS OZONE AS CONFIRMED BY TEST STRIPS. OZONE EXCEEDS PERMISSIBLE LIMITS. SUSPECT MOTOR OR OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. DEALER UNAWARE OF ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS.*AK
THE VEHICLE FORD FOCUS HAVE HAD 6 DIFFERENT SAFETY RECALLS IN ONE YEAR. THIS IS ANNOYING AND INCONVENIENT FOR THE CONSUMER TO HAVE TO TAKE MY TIME TO GET A NEW CAR FIXED. YOUR ORGANIZATION SHOULD MAKE SURE THE CARS MEET THE STANDARDS BEFORE THEY GO OUT. NO SAFETY DEFECT, STRICTLY INFORMATIONAL. *AK
DRIVING DOWN MINOR RD, DROVE THROUGH GREEN LIGHT. SUDDENLY CAR ACCELERATED AND WENT INTO UNCONTROLLED SKID, SLAMMING BACK WHEEL INTO CURB. JERKED STEERING WHEEL LEFT, ALMOST INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. VEERED RIGHT AGAIN, THIS TIME SLAMMING FRONT WHEEL INTO CURB BEFORE MANAGING TO STOP CAR. NO OUTWARD SIGN OF DAMAGE BESIDE COSMETIC, BUT SHORT DISTANCE LATER, CAR BEGAN CLANKING RIGHT BEFORE TIRE HIT BUMP IN ROAD, CAUSING IT TO SWING OUTWARD AT 45 DEGREE ANGLE. CAR WAS THEN IMMOBILE.*AK
REPORT WRITTEN ABOUT 2000 FORD FOCUS.*MR THERE WAS A THREE CAR ACCIDENT. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, HOWEVER THE CONSUMER DID NOT REMEMBER BEING INVOLVED IN A COLLISION, THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS AT A STOP. *TS IT WAS NOTED THAT THE AIR BAG SYSTEM DID HAVE A PREVIOUS PROBLEM WHERE SEVERAL CONTACT PINS IN THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR IN THE STEERING COLUMN WERE REPLACED. *JB
CONSUMER WAS TRAVELING ON HIGHWAY APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT, WENT TO APPLY BRAKES, AND AIRBAGS WENT OFF AND EXPLODED, CAUSING WINDSHIELD TO EXPLODE. . THERE WERE NO INJURIES. AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON TWO DAYS AFTER WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE WAS SERVICED ON JULY 7TH, 2000. *AK
BRAKES SQUEAK, EXCESSIVE BREAK DUST ON THE FRONT WHEELS.*PH THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER, THAT THE BRAKE DUST WAS NORMAL. THE REAR SHOES PAD ASSEMBLIES AND ROTORS WERE REPLACED AT LEAST FOUR TIMES. THE LAST TIME THE DEALER TOLD THE CONSUMER THE LEFT RIGHT EBRAKE CABLE SPRING RETAINER HAD POPPED OUT THE BACKING PLATE WHICH CAUSED THE SHOES TO NOT RETRACT ALL THE WAY. THE DEALER PUT THE RETAINER BACK AND RESET THE HEBRAIC. ALSO THE REAR WHEEL CYLINDERS WAS LEAKING AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. *JB
THIS CAR HAS GIVING ME NOTHING BUT TROUBLE. THIS IS THE SECOND ONE I HAVE OWNED, THE FIRST ONE FORD BOUGHT ME OUT OF BECAUSE IT WAS A LEMON, AND THIS ONE IS WORSE THAN THE FIRST ONE. THE FORD FOCUS IS NOTHING BUT A LEMON. I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER FORD FOR AS LONG AS I LIVE. FORD NEEDS TO STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT AND TAKE THIS CAR BACK. IT IS OBVIOUSLY NOT FIXABLE. I HAVE THIS CAR IN THE SHOP AT LEAST EVERY OTHER WEEK, I ONLY HAVE 5,955 MILES ON THIS THING. I HATE THIS CAR!!!!!*AK
ON 6 DIFFERENTT OCASSIONS, IN THE SAME DAY, MY CAR WOULD DECELERATE WHILE I WAS TRYING TO ACCELERATE. ON THE LAST 3 OCASSIONS, THE CAR SHUT DOWN AND THE ENGINE, OIL & BATTERY LIGHTS CAME ON. THIS OCCURRED WHILE I WAS ON MAJOR ROADS & THE HIGHWAY; I COULD HAVE BEEN INJURIED/KILLED. MY CAR WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP & THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER INFORMED ME THAT MY FOCUS WAS THE FIFTH ONE THIS WEEK HE TOWED WITH THESE PRBLEMS.*AK
WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE WILL STALL UNEXPECTEDLY AT ANY GIVEN SPEED WITHOUT WARNING. DEALER HAS ATTEMPTED TO FIX PROBLEM FOR THE THIRD TIME NOW. FIRST ATTEMPT SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM - SECOND TIME REPLACED MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR - NOW THEY ARE REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP. WE FEEL THIS CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND HAVE LOST CONFIDENCE IN THE RELIABILITY OF THIS CAR. WE FEEL LIKE IT IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. WE FEEL THAT THE DEALERSHIP IS NOT COMPETENT TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND WE WOULD LIKE TO PERSUE THE LEMON LAW RIGHTS FOR A REFUND FOR THIS CAR.*AK
DT: THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WERE MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. THE BRAKES MAKE NOISES AND PULSATED WHEN THE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE SERVICE DEALER WHERE THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND IGNITION CYLINDER SWITCHES WERE REPLACED. THE DEALER ALSO TURNED THE DRUMS, REPLACED THE BRAKE PADS AND RESURFACED THE FRONT ROTORS. THERE WAS A VIBRATION IN THE FRONT END WHEN BRAKING. THE LOWER BALL JOINT, RIGHT WHEEL BEARINGS, RIGHT FRONT SWAY BAR LINK, BONE SOCKET, STEERING RACK COLUMN AND TIE ROD ENDS WERE REPLACED IN AN ATTEMPT TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THE TAIL LIGHT COVERS RETAINED MOISTURE AND CONDENSATION BUILT UP. THE DEALER REPLACED THE TAIL LIGHT COVERS AND FUSES THAT WERE BLOWN DUE TO THE MOISTURE. LASTLY, THE CONTACT NOTICED THE REAR SEAT WAS LOOSE AND UPON INSPECTION THE DEALER DISCOVERED AN ANCHOR AND HINGE PROBLEM. THE BACK HINGE AND PILLAR WERE REPLACED. *JB
CONSUMER CONTACTED DEALER FOR RECALL 00V303000, AND PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR A MONTH. CONSUMER FELT UNSAFE DRIVING VEHICLE. *AK
VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A FRONTAL COLLISION AT 10 MPH, AND AIRBAGS DID DEPLOY.*AK ACCORDING TO FORD REPRESENTATIVE, AIRBAGS ARE DESIGNED TO DEPLOY AT GREATER THAN 14 MPH. *YH
