7 NEW STEREOS, 2 IGNITION CYLINDERS, A FEW TRUNK LATCHES, TRANSMISSION TROUBLE(DEALER CANNOT DUPLICATE), 20,000 MILES I HAVE TO REPLACE 4 TIRES AND 4 BRAKE PADS, HORRIBLE GRINDING NOISE WHEN STOPPING, SHAKES ON THE FREEWAY WHEN BRAKING, MISASSEMBLED INTERIOR RAILS, AND MANY OTHERS. I AM COMPLETELY DISSATISFIED WITH THIS VEHICLE, I WILL NEVER, EVER BUY ANOTHER FORD VEHICLE AND I WILL CERTAINLY NEVER RECCOMEND A FORD TO ANYONE.
MY WIVE ANN WAS SITTING IN A PARKING LOT WITH THE MOTOR RUNNING AND HEATER/DEF.ON WHEN SHE HEARD A CRACKING NOISE THEN SHE SEEN THE WINDSHIELD CRACK IN STRIEGHT LINE A GOOD 7 INCHES.I REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO THE DEALER THAT SAME DAY ON WHICH THEY MADE AN APPOINTMT.FOR THE 26TH(4 DAYS LATER)I KEPT THE APPT.ON WHICH A MECHANIC (I BELIEVE A BOB)SAID WE DONT DEAL IN GLASS BUT FORD TOLD ME HOW TO LOOK FOR DEFECTS,OR STONE,AND HE WENT TO MY CAR DUG A PEN IN TO THE CRACK AND SAID SEE RIGHT THERE IS A STONE CHIP.SO THE REFUSE TO HONOR THE WARRENTY.WHEN TALKED TO REAL EXSPERTS,THEY SAID THAT COULDNT DETERMINED A DEFECT NOW THAT IT WAS TAMPERD WITH.NOW,THERE WAS NO FLYING DEBRIS,NO FLYING STONES IN THE PARKING LOT.ALSO THIS GUY SAID A STONE NO BIGGER THAN A PIN HEAD MADE SUCH A CRACK...IF THIS WAS TO BE EVEN CLOSELY TRUE,THEN IN MY OPPINION IT SHOULD STILL BE DEFECTIVE,BECAUSE,THAT WINDSHIELD WOULD NOT HOLD UP TO THE SLIGHTEST,FREEZING RAIN,OR THE SMALLEST HAIL,OR A DIRT ROAD,A SANDER,AND THE LIST COULD GO ON.BUT I BELIEVE IT BROKE BECAUSE WE HAD GOOD TEMPERTURES THAT MORNING,COMPINED WITH THE HEATER CAUSED IT TO CRACK.*AK
CAR ACCELERATED ON OWN/CAUSED MAJOR ACCIDENT/FORD REFUSES RESPONSIBLITY. *AK
2000 FOCUS WITH IGNITION SWITCH FAILURE. CAR IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY (39000 MILES). FORD WILL NOT COVER REPAIR. ALSO FRONT SWAY BARS LOOSE.
KEY COULD ONLY BE INSERTED HALF WAY INTO THE IGNITION. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH HIT A BUMP IN THE STREET, DRIVER'S SIDE AND PASSENGER'S SIDE AIRBAGS CAME OUT AND BROKE THE WINDOW. *AK

THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT WHILE DRIVING CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE (FIRESTONE TIRE). NLM
AT FIRST TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SLIP. THEN VEHICLE BEGAN TO CUT OFF FROM TIME TO TIME WHEN GEAR WAS IN DRIVE/ REVERSE OR WHEN INITIALLY STARTING VEHICLE UP.*AK
WHEN OUSIDE TEMPERTURE IS HIGHER THAN 60 DEGREE, THE CAR WOULD STALL IF RESTARTED WHILE THE ENGINE IS STILL HOT. DEARLER TOLD ME IT'S BECAUSE THE PCM IS INTERACTING WITH THE WINTER FUEL ADDICTIVE AND CAUSING THE CAR TO STALL, AND THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. NOW I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE WHEN THE WHETHER IS WARM. THERE WERE FEW TIMES, THE CAR STALLED RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND BECOME VERY DANGEOUS. I HOPE NHTSA CAN LOOK INTO THIS. DEFECTIVE FRONT SUSPENSION AND STEERING. *PH WHILE DRIVING THE CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD SNAP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO DETERMINED THAT THE PASSENGER'S SIDE FRONT SUSPENSION BROKE. *MR *NM
THE VEHICLE HAD A SUSPENSION PROBLEM, (POSSIBLY A LOOSE BOLT) WHICH CAUSED THE WHEEL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE TO BECOME OUT OF ALIGNMENT.*JB
ATTEMPTED TO START VEHICLE IN PARKING LOT AND IT STARTED SPUTTERING AND SHAKING. ENGINE CHECK LIGHT/ OIL LIGHT AND BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON. THEN, VEHICLE JUST SHUT OFF. THIS HAPPENED TWICE. CONTACTED DEALER, AND VEHICLE WAS IN REPAIR SHOP FOR 3 DAYS. BUT, DEALER COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE SECOND TIME THIS HAPPENED DEALER SAID THAT FUEL PUMP MALFUNCTIONED. *AK
I PLACED MY KEY IN THE IGNITION AND IT WOULD NOT TURN TO THE START POSITION.*AK

1ST RECALL,6/2000 SHOP FOR A/C PROBLEM,9/2000 SHOP FOR 7 DAYS FOR AC PROBLEM,1/2002 SHOP 7DAYS FOR ENGINE WORK,RECALLS X 4 OR 5 NOT SURE ABOUT DATES THERE HAS BEEN SO MANY ON THIS CAR,PROBLEMS WITH NOT STARTING ,GAS GAUGE, TIRE REPLACEMENT 3 SETS IN LESS THEN 3 YEARS, HESITATION,POOR GAS MILAGE,BRAKES SQUEALING, TRUNK DOES NOT CLOSE PROPERLY,10/2003 HAS BEEN IN SHOP FOR 3 WEEKS FOR POSSIBLE ENGINE WORK. DEALER CAN NOT SEEM TO FIND OR REPAIR THE PROBLEM, I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS CAR IT HAS HAD SERIOUS PROBLEMS FROM DAY ONE THERE ARE MORE TO MENTION CAN NOT LIST THEM ALL I NEED HELP. *AK

BRAKENOISE CONTINUES EVEN AFTER DEALER REPLACED REAR BRAKE SHOES. CONDITION PLACES DRIVER AT RISK AS IT IS HARD TO DETERMINE IF BRAKES ARE FAILING DUE TO WEAR.*AK
AFTER PURCHASING MY CAR IN JAN OF 2000. I HAD TO TAKE IT INTO THE SHOP 3 DAYS AFTER FOR A LINKAGE PROBLEM. I WAS DRIVING IN REVERSE AND REVERSING IN DRIVE. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN QUITE A FEW TIMES SINCE THEN FOR A LOUD NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD, FOR IT NOT ACCELERATING WHEN ENTERING THE FREEWAY, AND FOR IT ACCELERATING FOR NO REASON AT ALL. EACH TIME I TOOK IT IN THEY SAID THAT WAS NORMAL. WHICH I KNOW IT WAS NOT BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN IN OTHER 2000 FORD FOCUS' AND THEY ARE ANY WHERE AS LOUD AS MINE IS AND THEY DO NOT TAKE OFF LIKE MINE DOES, AND THE PICK UP SPEED IS WONDERFUL. I AM AWARE THAT THERE ARE OTHER VEHICLES MANUFACTURED NEAR THAT DATE THAT ARE OR WERE ON RECALL. I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU COULD LOOK INTO THIS, SO I CAN GET IT FIXED BEFORE ANY ONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED. *JB
BOTH EXTERIOR MIRRORS GO OUT OF ADJUSTMENT, DEALER UNABLE TO REMEDY.*JB CONSUMER STATES THE INSIDE MIRROR PARTS HAD ALWAYS FELL OFF, THE DEALER NEVER TRIED TO FIX OR REPLACED THEM. *YH

AFTER TAKING VEHICLE INTO DEALER TO GET RECALL OOF001000 REPAIRS DONE ON POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE, CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER FOR CONTROL PROBLEMS. VEHICLE WOULD ACCELERATE WHEN SLOWING DOWN. CONTACTED DEALER, AND THE DEALER WAS NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING. *AK
WHEN PARKING VEHICLE ON A HILL EMERGENCY BRAKES WILL NOT INGAGE. DEALER CONTACTED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING APROXIMATELY 25 MPH HAD A FRONTAL IMPACT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE,AND DRIVER'S/PASSENGER'S AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, WHICH DID NOT PROTECT THE OCCUPANTS IN THIS CRASH. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
REPORTING A POSSIBLE FUEL TANK EXPLOSION THAT COULD HAVE OCCURRED. VEHICLE WAS REARENDED BY AN AUDI A4, 2000 VEHICLE AT AN IMPACT OF APPROXIMATELY 10 - 15 MPH. IMPACT LEFT A DENT IN BACK OF FUEL TANK. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
WE DROVE OFF THE LOT WITHOUT HAVING THE PDI PERFORMED ON THE CAR, WHCICH RESULTED IN LOW FLUIDS IN THE VECHICLE, ESPECIALLY THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. THE LOW FLUID CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO SLIP, AND REVVED THE ENGINE,WHICH MADE THE CAR RIDE AND DRIVE REAL HARD. THE 1ST DAY WE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE BATTERY, WHICH WAS ALREADY DEAD IN THE CAR. AND NOW WE RECEIVED ON DEC 12,1999 A LETTER STATING THAT THE CAR WAS RECALLED BECAUSE IT HAD PROBLEMS WITH FLUIDS LEAKING INTO THE CRUISE CONTROL PANEL, AND TO CONTACT THE DEALER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. SO WE CONTACTED THE DEALER AND LET THEM KNOW OF THE RECALL, AND ASK WHEN IT WAS POSSIBLE TO BRING THE CAR IN. WE SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER WHO STATED TO US THAT THE PARTS WERE ORDERD FOR GEORGIA LOCATIONS, BUT NONE OF THE PARTS EVER HAD REACH THEIR LOCATION.. NOW THAT LEAVES US A PROBLEM AS OF TODAY DEC 18,1999, WITH CONSTANTLY CALLING TO FIND OUT WHEN THE PART WOULD BE AVAILABLE AND NOT ONLY THAT THE CAR NEEDS TO BE SEEN ALSO FOR THE BLOWN LIGHTER FUSE,AS WELL AS THE IGNITION SIGNAL FAILURE NEEDS TO BE SERVICED ALSO. WE NEED IMMEDIATE ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER BECAUSE THE HOLIDAYS ARE COMING AND WE CANNOT USE OUR CAR THE WAY IT SUPPOSE TO BE USED, IF WE ARE TRYING TO DRIVE IT OUT OF TOWN, PLEASE HELP US IN THIS TOUGH SITUATION, BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE IS TRYING TO UNDERSTAND THAT WHEN A CAR IS PURCHASED BRAND NEW, IT SHOULD NOT HAVE THESE MANY PROBLEMS WITH IT IN THIS SHORT PERIOD OF OWNERHIP, THANK YOU.

CARPET ON PASSENGER'S SIDE WAS WET. CONTACTED DEALER, THEY INSTALLED A BOX TO CATCH THE MOISTURE OF THE CONDENSOR. NEXT DAY, COULD SMELL A MUSTY ODOR. HUSBAND HAS A LUNG CONDITION, AND HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO SIT IN THE CAR. CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER. MANUFACTURER CLAIMED IT WAS FAULTY WORKMANSHIP FROM THE DEALERSHIP.*AK

CONSUMER WAS IN AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT, CAR WAS TOWED INTO DEALERSHIP WHERE SHE WAS ADVISED THAT TIRES DID NOT CAUSE ACCIDENT AND THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES, TWO WEEKS LATER CONSUMER WENT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THAT TIRES WERE BALD AND THERE WAS METAL COMING OUT OF THEM, ALSO ROTORS WERE CRACKED AND HAD PIECES MISSING OUT OF THEM, SO ROTORS AND ALL BRAKE PADS HAD TO BE REPLACED. *JB

CRUISE CONTROL FAILED AND REPLACED, WHILE USING NEW CRUISE CONTROL VEHICLE EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION. *MJS
THROTTLE DOES NOT RETURN TO THE IDLE POSITION WHICH CAUSES UNEXPECTED ACCELERATION. NHTSA RECALL 99V346000/MANUFACTURER'S 99S35. MANUFACTURE WAS NOT AWARE OF THE RECALL. ALSO, CONTACTED DEALER, DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. *AK

STEERING WHEEL LOCKS AND YOU CANNOT TURN THE KEY IN THE IGNITION AT ALL. STEERING WHEEL, IGNITIONS, AND GEARSHIFT ARE ALL FROZEN. HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES BEFORE BUT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THAT THE ALL 3 ARE STUCK AND CAN'T GET IGNITION TO BUDGE.*AK
