CONSUMER RECEIVED RECALL LETTER FOR 2000 FOCUS FUEL PUMP AND WAS REFUSED SERVICE. *TS THE CONSUMER STATED THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED THE FIRST TIME WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS FROM THE DEALER, HOWEVER THE CONSUMER RECEIVED ANOTHER LETTER WHICH STATED THE FUEL PUMP HAD BEEN RE-DESIGNED AND IT WOULD BE REPLACED WITHOUT ANY CHARGE. THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP STATING IT WAS FOR SOME MODELS NOT ALL, EVEN THOUGH THE CONSUMER WAS EXPERIENCING SYMPTOMS AT THAT TIME. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THE 3RD CYLINDER IN THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *JB

2000 FORD FOCUS KEY WILL NOT TURN THE IGNITION. *NJ THE CONSUMER WAS QUOTED A PRICE OF $400.00 TO GET THE VEHICLE STARTED TO GET THE CYLINDER REPAIRED. IF THE DEALER FOUND THE CYLINDER WAS COMPLETELY RUINED, IT WOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL $300.00. *JB
CONSUMER STATES THAT WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND NO WARNING THE VEHICLE WILL SHUT OFF CAUSING CONSUMER TO PULL OVER. DEALER NOTIFIED. TS

VEHICLE FAILED AFTER BEING REPAIRED. PH THE VEHICLE WAS SIDE SWIPED IN CHICAGO WHERE THE SALES DEALER CLAIMED TO HAVE MADE REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS TRANSPORTED TO FLORIDA WHERE IT FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS BARELY DRIVEN, AND HAD ONLY 10 MILES ON IT WHEN IT WAS PURCHASED. THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE IGNITION. THE CYLINDER WAS REPLACED. *SC THE LEFT FRONT STRUT AND SWAY BAR LINK WAS REPLACED. *JB

WHICH LED TO FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT. *LA THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER REGARDING THE FUEL PUMP, HOWEVER WHEN HE ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP, HE WAS TOLD THERE WAS A $100.00 DIAGNOSTIC CHARGE. THE CONSUMER HAD THE FUEL PUMP REPLACED PREVIOUSLY AND BELIEVED IT WAS JUST REPLACED WITH ANOTHER FAULTY FUEL PUMP. *JB

WHEN THE KEYS ARE OUT OF THE IGNITION DRIVER IS ABLE TO SHIFT GEARS. SOMETIMES THE KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION. *AK
IGNITION DOESN'T WORK, STEERING WHEEL LOCKS AND IGNITION CYLINDER OCCASIONALLY COMES OUT. THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED TWO DEFECTS WITH HER VEHICLE. *PH THE BACK PASSENGER SEAT BELT WAS PLACED IN BACKWARDS PER MANUFACTURER, THE VOLUME ON THE RADIO INCREASED AND DECREASED WITHOUT CONTROL, THE GEAR STICK SLID OFF THE POST, THE VEHICLE STALLED WHEN GOING TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE POWER KNOB TO THE RADIO WOULD BECOME STICKY WHENEVER THE SUN WAS PRESENT, THE TRUNK WOULD NOT OPEN, THE IGNITION SWITCH JAMMED TWICE, THE REAR VIEW MIRROR WAS STUCK IN THE OPEN POSITION, AND THE STEERING WHEEL ADJUSTER DID NOT EXIST. THE CONSUMER WAS INVOLVED IN A HEAD ON COLLISION AT 45 MPH, HOWEVER THE VEHICLES FRONTAL AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *NM

VEHICLE STALLED WHILE IN MOTION. SOMETIMES VEHICLE HAD TO GET A JUMP START. *AK
VEHICLE HESITATED/STALLED. ALSO, A STEERING PROBLEM AND A BURNING SMELL. THIS VEHICLE WAS RECALLED FOR THESE DEFECTS. HOWEVER, THE SAME PROBLEMS CONTINUE TO EXIST. *AK
