TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR BECAME AJAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR DID NOT CLOSE CORRECTLY NOR WAS IT STAYING CLOSED. THE DOOR WAS BEING HELD CLOSED WITH THE VEHICLE'S SEAT BELT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A MECHANIC AND NO REPAIRS WERE MADE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
MY CAR SHUTS OFF OR STALLS WHILE DRIVING, GAS INDICATOR IS NOT ACCURATE, I CAN SMELL FUEL FOR A LONG TIME AFTER I FILL UP, THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT SMOOTH AT ALL, IT JERKS AND SHAKES, WIPER FLUID IS FULL BUT IT WON'T RELEASE.
WE BELIEVE THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS ONE OF OUR KIDS ALMOST FELL OUT OF THE CAR BECAUSE WE DIDN'T REALIZE THE DOOR DID NOT CATCH! THE REAR LEFT DOOR WILL NOT STAYED CLOSED. THE MECHANISM IS NOT CATCHING AT ALL AND THE DOOR IS A SAFETY ISSUE. A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR DID THE SAME THING. WE ENDED UP TAKING IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND IT COST $100 TO REPAIR, BUT WE DON'T FEEL THIS IS RIGHT.
FOR THE PAST FEW WEEKS I OCCASIONALLY GET THE "STEERING ASSIST FAULT" MESSAGE WHILE DRIVING AND POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING. USUALLY, WHEN I RESTART THE CAR IT RESETS AND WORKS AGAIN. TODAY I GOT THE MESSAGE WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, RESTARTED THE CARS A FEW TIMES AND IT DID NOT RESET. I HAVE CONTACTED MY DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY'VE NEVER HEARD OF THIS, DESPITE MY REPORTING IT TO THEM LAST FALL AS WELL. UPDATE 9/15/15*CW UPDATE: I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR, AND THE STEERING GEAR WAS REPLACED. SO FAR, AT 49,800 MILES, THE PROBLEM HAS NOT HAPPENED SINCE THE REPAIR. THE REPAIR QUALIFIED TO BE COVERED BY MY EXTENDED SERVICE PLAN, AND I PAID 4100 DEDUCTIBLE FOR THE WORK. THE REPAIR WAS DONE AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR. UPDATED 09/29/15*JB.... MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE FREEWAY. SHE HAD OPENED AND CLOSED THE SUNROOF ABOUT AN HOUR BEFORE THE INCIDENT. THERE WAS A LOUD POPPING/BANGING NOISE AND THE SUNROOF SHATTERED. GLASS SHARDS COVERED THE INSIDE OF THE CAR, SOME OF THEM WERE SHARP. WHEN SHE PARKED THE VEHICLE THE GLASS WAS BENT OUT AND NOT DOWN. THERE WAS NO KNOWN IMPACT OF ANY OBJECT WITH THE SUNROOF, IT APPEARS TO HAVE EXPLODED DUE TO A DEFECT.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM FAILED. THE DASH LIGHT CAME ON WITH POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. THE CAR IS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER AND CREATED A SAFETY ISSUE FAILING ON THE FREEWAY.
HESITATION ON ACCELERATION; TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS AND HAS NO POWER
AFTER HAVING THE CAR REPAIRED FROM A RECALL, THE 6TH TIME FOR REPAIR; THE CAR BROKE DOWN AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE IS OUT NOW AND IT IS IN THE SHOP FOR THE 7TH TIME RELATED TO THE SAME ISSUE. I CONSIDER THIS CAR DANGEROUS AND WILL ULTIMATELY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR DEATH. WHY ARE YOU NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE. IT IS FOR ALL 2012 FORD FOCUS VEHICLES.
IN LESS THAN A WEEK, THE POWER STEERING ON MY 2012 FORD FOCUS HAS FAILED THREE TIMES. THE FIRST TIME OCCURRED ON TUESDAY, JULY 28, 2015, AT 7:45 A.M. I HAD BEEN DRIVING FOR ABOUT TWO MINUTES WHEN THE FOLLOWING ERROR MESSAGE APPEARED ON MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER: "STEERING ASSIST FAULT/SERVICE REQUIRED." I WAS JUST ABOUT TO TAKE THE RAMP ONTO THE HIGHWAY, BUT MY GUT TOLD ME TO PULL OVER TO THE RIGHT OF THE ROAD (I HAD A CHILD WITH ME AND DID NOT WANT TO TAKE ANY RISKS). JUST AS I WAS DOING SO, MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED, AND I COULD NOT ROTATE IT. AS I PULLED UP NEXT TO THE CURB, I PLACED MY CAR IN PARK AND TURNED ON MY HAZARDS. I WAITED A FEW MOMENTS, BUT THE STEERING WHEEL STILL WOULD NOT BUDGE. I TURNED MY CAR OFF AND ON AGAIN, BUT THE STEERING WHEEL STILL WOULDN'T MOVE. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AGAIN AND WAITED ABOUT 5-10 MINUTES. UPON STARTING THE CAR THIS TIME, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS BACK TO NORMAL. I LEFT MY HAZARDS ON AND MADE RIGHT TURNS ALL THE WAY HOME (IN CASE IT WENT OUT AGAIN). THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED AGAIN ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 29 AT 4:50 P.M. AND MONDAY, AUGUST 3 AT 5:05 P.M. BOTH TIMES I TURNED OFF MY CAR, WAITED ABOUT 5 MINUTES, AND THEN STARTED IT AGAIN. THE POWER STEERING WOULD THEN BE WORKING. THIS PROBLEM IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING AND I WORRY ABOUT MY SAFETY BECAUSE I DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY TO AND FROM WORK. WHILE THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE SIDE ROADS, THERE IS NOW A CONSTANT FEAR OF THIS HAPPENING WHILE I'M ON THE HIGHWAY. I'VE READ OTHER COMPLAINTS ON ONLINE FORUMS ABOUT THIS EXACT PROBLEM, SO I WOULD LIKE TO ALSO FILE MINE. IT IS ALSO FRUSTRATING BECAUSE I HAVE HAD OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR, SUCH AS WITH THE MOONROOF, AC, AND COMPASS. I FEEL LIKE FORD SOLD ME A LEMON. I PURCHASED THIS CAR FROM A FORD DEALERSHIP AS CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED ONLY A YEAR AND A HALF AGO, SO I SHOULDNT HAVE THIS MANY PROBLEMS WITH IT.
THE FORD FOCUS 2012 SE HATCHBACK, SPORT SUSPENSION. THE CHROME SURFACE ON THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO PEEL OFF AND FLAKE SOON AFTER PURCHASE. THE SHARDS ARE METALLIC AND SHARP, AND HAVE CUT MY FINGER WHILE DRIVING. THE PROBLEM IS A MAJOR IRRITANT SINCE THIS PROBLEM IS LOCATED ON SURFACES THAT HAVE BUTTONS AND ARE USED TO CONTROL VARIOUS FEATURES. I ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A WARRANTY CLAIM ON THE ISSUE BUT OURISMAN FORD, ALEXANDRIA VA DECLINED THE CLAIM. MANY OTHER FORD OWNERS SEEM TO HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEMS BASED ON ONLINE RESEARCH. FORD SHOULD OFFER TO REPLACE THIS INEXPENSIVE PART WHICH AFFECTS DAILY DRIVING.
I BOUGHT A 2012 FORD FOCUS 2 YEARS AGO, SINCE OWNING THE CAR I HAVE EXPERIENCED MAJOR SAFETY ISSUES. DOING 55MPH IN MY HOME TOWN MY TRANSMISSION FAILED AND MY CAR CAME TO A DEAD STOP. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS MY HILL SIDE ASSISTANT. I WAS ABLE TO PULL INTO A LOT. AFTER THIS INCIDENT AND LEAVING MY CAR OFF FOR 2 MINUTES OR SO, I BEGAN TO DRIVE AND MY RPM'S JOLTED INTO THE 7,000'S AND MY CAR ACCELERATED UNCONTROLLABLY PUSHING MY SPEED TO OVER 50 WHEN I WAS ONLY DOING 30. AFTERWARDS MY VEHICLE ONCE AGAIN DE-ACCELORATED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD AND CAME TO A STOP. I HAVE BROUGHT MY CAR BACK TO FORD 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 YEARS WITH ISSUES DUE TO ACCELERATING, JERKING, HESITATION AND FAIL TO SHIFT. THIS ACCIDENT HAD ALMOST COSTED ME AND OTHERS OUR LIVES. FORD FAILED TO ASSIST ME IN THE MATTER AND TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT THE WAY THE FORD'S ELECTRIC AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SYSTEM IS MADE. THIS CAR IS A DANGEROUS VEHICLE AND BY NO MEANS SHOULD BE APPROVED TO BE DRIVEN OR SOLD UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION I REALIZED I'M ONE OUT OF THOUSANDS WHO HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUES WITH FORD FOCUS' PURCHASED BETWEEN 2010-2013.
THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN OVER. THERE WAS NO CLICKING OF THE VEHICLE TRYING TO START. AFTER 4 TRIES TO START THE CAR IT WAS LEFT TO SIT FOR 30 MIN BEFORE WE TRIED AGAIN. THE CAR THEN WAS TRIED TO START AGAIN DID NOT START UNTIL THE 4TH TRY. THEN THE CAR STARTED. IT SEEMS TO BE SKIPPING A GEAR WHILE DRIVING WILL GO FROM 6K RPM TO ALL OF THE SUDDEN JUMPING DOWN TO 2K RMP. THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CLUTCH/ TRANSMISSION WITH SHIFTING AND NOW SOMETHING GOING ON WITH THE STARTING SYSTEM.
I WAS DRIVING, AND THE TRANSMISSION STOPPED DELIVERING POWER TO THE WHEELS. THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING, AND REVVING WHEN I PUSHED THE GAS PEDAL, BUT NO ACCELERATION. THE TRANSMISSION WAS IN DRIVE. I CHANGED TO L, AND NO POWER. I PULLED OVER AND PUT THE GEAR INTO PARK, BACK TO D, AND NO POWER. I HAD TO RESTART THE ENGINE TWICE, BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION ENGAGED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED EVEN AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. AS A RESULT, THE BATTERY HAD TO BE DISCONNECTED IN ORDER FOR THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS TO TURN OFF. THE FAILURE OCCURRED A SECOND TIME AND THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS BECAME INOPERABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHERE IT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V149000 (VISIBILITY). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. SEVEN MONTHS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS SERVICED FOR THE SAME FAILURE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT GEARS AND THE ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH AND TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000.
BOUGHT THE CAR USED IN MAY. IT DROVE FINE FOR THE FIRST MONTH AND NOW THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON WITH A CODE FOR THE TRANSMISSION. THE CAR HESITATES AND SHUTTERS WHEN YOU START FROM A STOP AND WHEN YOU GET GOING IT FEELS LIKE IT SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL, RPM GOES REAL HIGH AND THEN SHIFTS HARD. THE CODE THAT POPS UP IS P2862, P2831, P2832, P2837, AND P285F. FOR 2 OF THEM THE CODE IS SHIFT FORK A AND B POSITION CIRCUIT SHIFT, AND THE OTHERS SAY NO DEFINITION FOUND.I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO FROM HERE.
CHROME SURFACE OF STEERING WHEEL TRIM BEGINS TO PEEL WITHOUT CONTACT AND IS EXCEEDINGLY SHARP WHEN IT DOES SO. I HAVE NOW CAUGHT MY FINGER ON IT TWICE, DRAWING BLOOD ON A HIGHWAY TRAVELING 70MPH.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SOUND FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT IT COULD BE THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THERE WAS A SMELL OF SMOKE INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND NOTICED THAT THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WAS SMOKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR AND THE BELT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
THIS CAR IS RELATIVELY NEW. ALL OF A SUDDEN AND WITH ANY NOTICE, BOTH DOORS ON THE DRIVER SIDE STOPPED WORKING PROPERLY. THEY CLOSE BUT DO NOT LOCK. I HAVE HAD TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH THE DOORS TIED AS THE FORD DEALERSHIP WANTS TO CHARGE ME A LARGE AMOUNT OF MONEY TO REPAIR THE SITUATION. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I CONTACTED THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE PROBLEM AND THAT I HAD TO REPAIR THE CAR MYSELF. VERY IRRESPONSIBLE BECAUSE THEY HAVE RECALLED THE FIESTA AND THE FUSION FOR EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM.
ACCELERATING FROM A TRAFFIC LIGHT THE CAR JUST DIED. I LOST ALL POWER(POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES). WE PULLED OVER AND TRIED TO JUMP THE BATTERY THINKING IT WAS THIS. I REMEMBERED A LETTER I RECEIVED FROM FORD REGARDING A VOLUNTARY RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE(TCM). THE CAR WAS TOWED TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC AND VIA A DIAGNOSTIC TEST IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE TCM WAS DEFECTIVE. AFTER A WEEK AT THE FORD DEALER THE TCM WAS REPLACED FREE AND THE WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED. THE MAJOR CONCERN THAT I HAVE IS IF I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN DIRE CONSEQUENCES - THE CAR JUST DIED AND WE WOULD HAVE BEEN SITTING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH TRAFFIC FLYING BY US. THERE NEEDS TO BE A MANDATORY RECALL FOR THIS SITUATION BEFORE PEOPLE DIE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING AT 25 MPH, THE ENGINE VIBRATED AND THE CONTACT COULD HEARD A METAL TO METAL GRINDING NOISE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE WOULD ROLL BACK AND LOSE POWER WHEN STOPPED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE TECHNICIAN CLEANED THE ENGINE AND REPLACED THE CLUTCH AND RINGS, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
ACCELERATING UP A SHALLOW HILL THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO STUTTER AND JERK AND GRIND AS IT CHANGED GEARS. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE JERKING THE CAR SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND REVVED UP. COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER AT SPEED. PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD (ON A HILL) PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. WHEN I RELEASED THE BRAKE THE CAR ROLLED BACKWARDS DOWN THE HILL - CLEARLY THE CAR WAS NOT ENGAGED IN PARK. I APPLIED THE BRAKE TO STOP THE CAR AND ENGAGED THE E BRAKE. I TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR IT WOULD NOT START. ERROR KEPT FLASHING 'PARKING AID MALFUNCTION - SERVICE REQUIRED'. THE FAILURE LEFT US STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD ON A 95 DEGREE DAY WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO START THE CAR. I AM CURRENTLY WAITING FOR FORD DEALER TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE JERKING AND STUTTERING OF THE TRANSMISSION IS A VERY REGULAR OCCURRENCE FOR MY CAR. IT HAPPENS AT ALMOST EVERY STARTUP, ESPECIALLY WHEN HOT. THE JERKING AND STUTTERING HAS IN THE PAST RESULTED IN LOSS OF POWER TO THE POINT THAT I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT BY ONCOMING CARS WHEN I TRIED TO PULL OUT INTO THE STREET. I HAD ALSO BROUGHT MY CAR TO THE DEALER PREVIOUSLY COMPLAINING OF SEVERE JERKING AND STUTTERING AND WAS TOLD THIS WAS NORMAL FOR THE TRANSMISSION.
REAR DOOR LATCH WILL NO LONGER CLOSE CORRECTLY. EVEN AFTER CLOSING WILL COME OPEN WITHOUT USE OF HANDLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE STEERING SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.
RIGHT-SIDE PASSENGER DOOR LATCH FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY. DOOR FLEW OPEN AND WOULD NOT RE-CLOSE. MY CHILD INJURED HER ARM WHEN THE DOOR BOUNCED BACK. THIS IS THE SECOND DOOR LATCH TO FAIL IN LESS THAN A WEEK.
WHILE DRIVING IN OPEN COUNTRY, VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES THE VEHICLE COULD BE RESTARTED. DROVE THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 10 ADDITIONAL MILES AFTER RESTART AND THEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY COASTED AS IF IN 'NEUTRAL" EVEN THOUGH GEAR SHIFT WAS IN "DRIVE" POSITION. THIS TIME THE GEAR INDICATOR LIGHT FLASHED AND THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN WITH THE VEHICLE IN "DRIVE." SHUT OFF VEHICLE. SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. AFTER APPROXIMATELY 10 MINUTES, RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE REMAINDER OF TRIP WITHOUT INCIDENT. NEXT DAY WHILE DRIVING IN LOCAL COUNTRY TRAFFIC, VEHICLE AGAIN COASTED AND APPEARED TO SHIFT TO "NEUTRAL" WITHOUT WARNING. GEAR INDICATOR LIGHT FLASHED AND ENGINE CONTINUED TO RUN EVEN THOUGH SHIFT LEVER WAS IN "DRIVE." HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER FOR SERVICE.
MY 2012 FORD FOCUS HAS BEEN REALLY MESSING UP LATELY. AFTER HAVING IT REPROGRAMED SINCE IT WAS SHUTTERING AND SUCH... ON 3 OCCASIONS THIS CAR HAS COMPLETELY FALLEN OUT OF GEAR, TWICE WHILE I AM GOING FULL SPEED AT APPROX 50 - 55 MILES/HOUR. THE DISPLAY BEGINS FLASHING AND THEN COMPLETE LOSS OF ACCELERATION. I HAVE HAD TO COAST INTO A TURN AND TURN OFF THE ENGINE AND THEN TURN IT BACK ON AND IT WOULD GO BACK INTO GEAR AND EVERYTHING WOULD BE FINE. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED I CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN MY TOWN AND SPOKE TO THEM ABOUT THIS AND ASKED THEM TO LOOK INTO WHY MY ENGINE WOULD LOOSE POWER COMPLETELY AND HE SAID THAT HE WOULD LOOK INTO IT AND NEVER RETURNED MY CALL. ON THE SECOND EVENT THE DRIVE INDICATOR D FLASHED AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND COMPLETE LOSS OF ACCELERATION (50-55MPH) AND THEN I COAST TO A TURN AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND TURN IT BACK ON AND AM ABLE TO PUT IT INTO DRIVE BUT THIS TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYED ON. I CALL THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE ME BRING IT IN AND THEY LOOK AT IT AND DISCOVER IT NEEDS A NEW TCM SO THEY ORDER THE PART AND THEN I TAKE THE CAR HOME. THE NEXT DAY I AM IN TOWN SHOPPING AND I TURN INTO A PARKING PLACE AND WHILE I AM IN THE PROCESS MY CAR MAKES A CLINKING, SCREECHING SOUND AND THEN ACTS LIKE IT HAS FALLEN BACK OUT OF GEAR AGAIN! THIS TIME IT DOES NOT GO BACK INTO GEAR SO I CALL THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE IT TOWED TO THEM AND THEN THE TCM WAS PUT INTO IT. I AM NOW ACTUALLY SCARED OF DRIVING THIS CAR. SO, I HAVE HAD THE CAR REPROGRAMED ONCE...3 COMPLETE GEAR FAILURES...NEW TCM... WE NEED FORD TO BUY BACK THIS CAR IT IS DANGEROUS!!!

THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO THE FORD STORE MORGAN HILL LOCATED AT (17045 CONDIT RD, MORGAN HILL, CA 95037) AND REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V515000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHILE DRIVING SLOW SPEEDS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE CAR SEEMS TO HESITATE AT ACCELERATION FROM PARKED POSITION. I NOTICED A SLIGHT "SKIPPING" OR JUMPING WHILE DRIVING OFF OF THE LOT. SINCE THEN, I HAVE NOTICED THE SAME WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE DEALER (USED CAR DEALER IN ALABAMA) TOLD ME "ITS A GOOD DEAL, GOOD CAR"!!!
CAR STALLED AND LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING, WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT. CAR WOULD NOT RESTART, AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. DIAGNOSED AND SAY THE PURGE VALVE FAILED AND THAT THEY NEED TO REPLACE FUEL PUMP, AND TANK, FOR $2K.
(AUTOMATIC HATCHBACK) THE CAR ROLLS BACK WHEN IN GEAR, ON A STEEP HILL. SHIFTING GEARS, IT WILL HESITATE ON THE HIGHWAY AND WILL JUMP GEARS AND STUDDER. A FEW DAYS AGO I WAS TRYING TO BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY TO GET TO WORK AND WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE, THE CAR DIDN'T MOVE WHATSOEVER, SO I PUT IT IN DRIVE TO TEST AND SEE IF IT WAS WORKING, AND IT GOT IN 1ST GEAR JUST FINE.SO I TRIED TO REVERSE AGAIN WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THEN THE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED, SO I LEFT THE CAR AND GOT A RIDE TO WORK, HOWEVER THAT NIGHT WHEN I CAME HOME, I TESTED THE CAR OUT AGAIN AND SAME PROBLEM, HOWEVER A MESSAGE POPPED UP "TRANSMISSION IS NOT IN PARK (P)" AND I HAD IT IN REVERSE, SO I PUT IT IN DRIVE AND THE SAME MESSAGE POPPED UP. NOW I CANNOT GET IT TO MOVE AT ALL. WHILE IN DRIVE, IT WILL REV UP, BUT IT WILL NOT MOVE! IT WILL START UP NO PROBLEM, AND SOMETIMES IT WILL DRIVE, BUT IT WILL LOSE POWER AND NOT MOVE AGAIN.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICHLE THE STEERING LOCKS UP AND IS VERY HARD TO STEER TO EVEN GET IT OFF THE ROAD. THE INDICATOR IN THE CAR CAME ON AND WARNED OF STEERING MALFUNCTION. LOST ALL POWER STEERING IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD MULTIPLE TIMES. HAD TO TURN VEHICLE OFF TO SEE IF IT WOULD HELP, DID MOMENTARILY BUT CONTINUES TO MALFUNCTION AFTER DRIVING IT. I CAN NO LONGER DRIVE MY VEHICLE BECAUSE IT IS NOT SAFE TO DO SO, NOR CAN I LET MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER DRIVE IT BECAUSE OF THE RISK IT POSES IF IT HAPPENS TO HER WHILE SHE ID DRIVING. IF IT WAS HER, SHE WOULD PROPBABLY WRECK, BECAUSE SHE WOULD NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO. FORD REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM......!!!!

BACK SEAT(DRIVERS SIDE) DOOR LATCH FAILED ON MY HUSBANDS WAY HOME FROM WORK. THE DOOR FLEW OPEN ON A TURN AND ALL OF HIS TOOLS FLEW OUT THE INTO THE STREET. (HE HAD MY CAR BECAUSE HIS FORD TRANSIT WAS IN THE SHOP FOR THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES) WE HAD TO TIE THE DOOR WITH A BUNGEE CORD. THE OTHER BACK DOOR LATCH (PASSENGER SIDE) FLEW OPEN ON THE FREEWAY WHILE ON THE WAY TO A BIRTHDAY PARTY RESULTING IN A LOST PRESENT AND CAKE. NOW BOTH BACK DOORS ARE TIED SO THE DOORS DON'T FLY OPEN. I DRIVE A CANYON ROAD TO WORK AND BACK EVERYDAY AND GOING THROUGH A TURN RESULTS IN THE DOOR LIGHT COMING ON AND MAKES THE NOISE FOR WHEN A DOOR IS OPEN. WE HAVE TRIED GOING TO FORD NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT OTHER YEARS HAVE BEEN RECALLED BUT NOT MY YEAR AND MODEL. FORD HAS OFFERED TO "FIX" THE PROBLEM FOR A MERE $700.00 DOLLARS PER DOOR. I CALLED CORPORATE AND RECEIVED THE SAME ANSWER WERE SORRY WE KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM BUT NOT FOR YOUR YEAR MAKE AND MODEL. I NOW HAVE A FOUR DOOR PASSENGER CAR THAT ONLY SITS TWO PEOPLE BECAUSE THE BACK DOORS ARE TIED TOGETHER. I PRAY EVERYDAY THAT MY FRONT DRIVERS DOOR AND PASSENGER DOOR DON'T FLY OPEN. I HAVE ALWAYS OWNED A FORD AND NEVER HAD A COMPLAINT ABOUT THEM BUT IT IS HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS SAFETY. WHAT IF MY GRANDKIDS WERE IN THE BACK SEAT AND THE DOOR FLEW OPEN WITH THEM IN THE CAR? I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER FORD THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND BIG LET DOWN. AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT A HALF HOUR IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC IN THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA, MY CAR SLIPPED FROM ACTIVE GEARS (I BELIEVE 2ND GEAR) AND RIGHT INTO NEUTRAL. I COULDN'T ACCELATE AND DRIVE WITH TRAFFFIC, WHILE TRAVELLING UP HILL MY CAR DECELLERATED QUICKLY. IN TRYING TO GET TO THE SHOULDER, I NARROWLY AVOIDED AN ACCIDENT. AFTER FINALLY REACHING THE SHOULDER I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK (IT STARTED TO ROLL DOWNHILL) AND THEN APPLY THE PARKING BRAKE. 10 SECONDS LATER MY CAR WAS RUNNING FINE AGAIN. THAT FOLLOWING MONDAY I BROUGHT MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE SERVICED. THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THAT THIS EXACT ISSUE HAPPENED. THE FIRST TIME WAS THE WEEK PRIOR TO.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR EXPERIENCED SUDDEN FAILURE OF THE POWER STEERING. I HAD TO PULL OVER AND TURN THE VEHICLE OFF FOR SEVERAL MINUTES AND RESTART THE CAR TO GET MOVING AGAIN WITH NORMAL STEERING.
LOST STEERING CONTROL, WARNING LIGHT CAME ON TO BRING VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE. STEERING BECAME VERY STIFF. WAS PASSING AN ACCIDENT ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THIS HAPPENED, SCARED ME, WAS NOT SURE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE, FOUND OUT I NEEDED TO REPLACE MY STEERING RACK AND PINNON, ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS, WILL COST ME 3,400.00 (CDN). WARRANTY RAN OUT ONE MONTH PRIOR. ONE MONTH EARLIER MY TRANSMISSION SEAL WENT AND NOW THIS, NOT VERY HAPPY WITH FORD AT ALL. FIRST NEW CAR I HAVE BOUGHT AND MAY BE THE LAST.

OPENED THE DRIVER'S REAR DOOR. PUT THE CHILD IN THE CAR SEAT. CLOSED THE DOOR AND IT SLAMMED OPEN. THINKING I MIGHT HAVE LOCKED THE DOORS HIT UNLOCK, BUT IT DID IT AGAIN. LUCKILY, I HAD A BUNGEE AND MY WIFE DROVE HOME WHILE I HELD THE DOOR SHUT.
WHILE ACCELERATING AND MERGING ONTO THE INTERSTATE, THE CAR SURGED FORWARD BRIEFLY, MADE A BANGING SOUND AND SHIFTED BY ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATING. AFTER COASTING TO A STOP ON THE SHOULDER, I PLACED THE VEHICLE INTO PARK AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, AFTER A MINUTE OR SO, I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AN PLACED IT INTO DRIVE. THE CAR ACCELERATED TO ABOUT 20 MPH AND AGAIN WENT INTO NEUTRAL. AFTER STOPPING AND RESTARTING ONE MORE TIME I PLACED THE CAR INTO LOW AND CAREFULLY DROVE TO THE NEAREST EXIT WHERE I STOPPED AND CALLED FOR A TOW TRUCK. THE CAR WAS THEN TOWED TO LITHIA FORD.
WHILE DRIVING TO A STORE, TOOK A RIGHT HAND TURN AND DRIVER SIDE DOOR FLEW WIDE OPEN. I HELD THE DOOR SHUT WHILE DRIVING WITH ONE ARM. MY BROTHER WHO HAD A 2013 FORD FIESTA HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH BOTH REAR DOORS, AND HIS PASSENGER DOOR. THIS ISSUE I HAVE HEARD OF THOUSANDS OF TIMES AND YET NO RECALL? IT'S GOING TO TAKE SOMEONE FALLING OUT OF THEIR CAR AND THE CAR HITTING INNOCENT BYSTANDERS FOR THIS TO BECOME SERIOUS FOR FORD TO FIX. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS $500 FOR THIS FIX DESPITE ITS A KNOWN MANUFACTURER DEFECT, AND TERRIBLE DESIGN. 2010+ FORD CARS IN MY OPINION ARE ALL GARBAGE, AND FORD SERVICE DOES NOT CARE.
I DROVE TO THE LIBRARY WITH MY BABY, AND PARKED. WHEN I CAME OUT I STARTED THE CAR, AND THE STEERING WHEEL SEEMED TO BE STUCK AND DIFFICULT TO TURN. I WAS ABLE WITH GREAT EFFORT TO DRIVE HOME, AND I AM GOING TO BE TAKING IT IN TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP TOMORROW. I HAVE ALREADY HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE TRANSMISSION STALLING AT LOWER GEARS, AND ALSO PROBLEMS WITH THE RADIO NOT RECOGNIZING USB DRIVES. THE SIDING ALONG THE DOORS JUST COMES RIGHT OFF, AND STARTED TEARING WITHIN A FEW WEEKS OF BUYING IT. I'VE HAD SOME OF IT REPLACED, BUT THE DEALERSHIP WOULDN'T DO IT. THE SEAT BELT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE GETS STUCK INSIDE THE CLIP, AND I HAVE TO STRUGGLE QUITE A BIT SOMETIMES TO TAKE OFF MY SEAT-BELT. THE AIR DEFLECTOR CAME RIGHT OFF ONE DAY, AND THE DEALERSHIP TRIED TO CHARGE ME $150 TO REPLACE THAT PIECE OF PLASTIC. THIS CAR SEEMS TO BE REALLY CHEAPLY MADE, AND THE DEALERSHIPS ARE ALL PRETTY CROOKED IF YOU ASK ME.
7/1/15 CAR HAD SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER. THE DOUBLE CLUTCH TRANSMISSION WAS IN D BUT ACTED AS IF IN NEUTRAL. PULLED INTO A BUSINESS DRIVEWAY. PARKED CAR. PUT SELECTOR IN P, CAR DASH SAID CAR WAS NOT IN P AND WOULD NOT ALLOW KEY TO BE REMOVED. CALLED A FORD DEALER, HAD CAR TOWED TO DEALER. WAITING ON THEM TO WORK ON CAR.
