THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION. IT SHAKES VIOLENTLY AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE AT TIMES. I HAVE HAD IT TO THE DEALERSHIP MANY TIMES OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS WITH NO FIX IN PLACE.
I OWN A 2013 FORD FOCUS THAT IS EXPERIENCING DOOR LATCH FAILURES. I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THEIR IS A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE FORD FOCUS DOOR LATCHES BUT BASED THE VIN FOR MY VEHICLE MY VEHICLE IS APPARENTLY NOT COVERED. (SAFETY RECALL 16S30) THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR LATCH. THE LATCH OPENED BUT THEN WOULD NO LONGER ENGAGE TO HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED. I TRIED TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY BUT THEY JUST STATE THAT MY PARTICULAR VIN IS NOT COVERED.
MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION WHEN IT CAME TO A STOP FROM LOSING POWER
THE VEHICLE SHAKES WHEN IT STARTS. SEAMS LIKE SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IT'S VERY TROUBLESOME IN THE SIGNAL LIGHT IN THE HIGHWAY.
THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY SHUT OFF WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AND SHE WAS UNABLE TO RESTART IT. THE MECHANIC STATES THAT IT IS A MALFUNCTION INVOLVING THE PURGE VALVE AND FUEL PUMP. DUE TO THIS MALFUNCTION, THE O2 SENSOR AND FUEL TANK NEEDS REPLACED AND THE PCM NEEDS REPROGRAMMED. THE MECHANIC STATES THIS SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER RECALL 18S32 AND 19S22 BUT FORD IS SAYING THAT MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL. WHY???
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the check engine and service now warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing a spark plug and the fuel injector to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The contact also stated that the vehicle was started and the parking aid fault, serviced required warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL GO ERRATIC FOR ABOUT 10-15 MINUTES WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN. WHEN THE WIPERS FINALLY TURN OFF THEY WONT COME BACK. CURRENTLY THE WIPERS WILL NOT WORK AT ALL AFTER THIS LAST INCIDENT.
WHEN STARTING THE CAR RECEIVED THE FOLLOWING ERROR "STEERING ASSIST FAULT". THE CAR HAS NO POWER STEERING AND IS UNDRIVABLE. TURNED CAR ON AND OFF TRYING TO RESET IT BUT IT WILL NOT RESET. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY LOCATED IN A PARKING LOT.
THE VEHICLE WILL STRUGGLE TO START OR FAIL TO START ONCE REFUELED. WHEN IDLE THE CAR WILL INCREASE TO 1,500-2000 RPM WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. AT TIMES WHILE IDLE, THE VEHICLE WILL ALSO FLUTTER AROUND 400-500 RPM THREATENING TO STALL (HAS DONE MORE THAN ONCE). THE FUEL GAUGE READS INACCURATE MEASURING A QUARTER TANK MORE THAN ACTUAL. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FOR A CANISTER PURGE VALUE ISSUE.
WHEN DRIVING CAR AND COME TO A STOP, IT SPLITTERS WHEN ACCELERATING. WHEN FUEL GETS LOWER THAN HALF OF A TANK, THE CAR LOSES POWER, SPUTTERS AND ENGINE MAKES A GRINDING NOISE. THIS HAPPENS ONLY WHEN DRIVING UPHILL OR FROM STOPPED POSITION.
CAR BEGAN TO STALL AND COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. WHILE IN DRIVE, WITH MY FOOT ON BRAKE AT A RED LIGHT A ERROR CODE FLASHED ON DASH " TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK" AND THEN IT SHUT OFF. CAR STALLED 4 MORE TIMES IN A MATTER OF A HOUR, TWICE WHILE IN PARK AND CAR WAS JUST RUNNING. LAST TIME AT A RED LIGHT IN DRIVE . TOOK 30-40 SECONDS TO RESTART CAR, VERY UNSAFE.
THE CAR HAS HAD SEVERAL RECALLS AND TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS SINCE THE DAY I GOT IT. IT HAS CLUTCH ISSUES THAT LEAVES ME STALLED STUCK IN GEAR IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. IT HAS LEFT ME STUCK IN MY GARAGE AND NOT BEING ABLE TO GO IN REVERSE FOR DAYS AT A TIME.
THE CARS TRANSMISSION WILL SHUDDER AND HESITATE FROM A STOPPED CONDITION. I HAVE HAD IT REPAIRED 2 TIMES AND ABOUT TO TAKE IT IN FOR A 3RD. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THIS TRANSMISSION
I'VE HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR. TWO DAYS AGO THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON - IT WAS STUCK IN THE GARAGE AT THIS TIME. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO REVERSE AND THE LIGHT WENT OFF A FEW HOURS LATER. YESTERDAY THE CAR, AGAIN, WOULD NOT REVERSE AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. THIS TIME IT WAS STUCK IN A PARKING LOT. AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS, SOME OF WHICH LEAD TO THE CAR NOT STARTING AT ALL, THE CAR FINALLY TURNED ON, AND REVERSED AFTER ROUGHLY HALF AN HOUR. THIS MORNING I TOOK THE CAR TO WEBB FORD IN HIGHLAND, IN FOR REPAIRS AS THE TRANSMISSION HAS A 100,000 MILE WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY ARE BACKED UP FOR OVER 2 WEEKS AND WOULD NOT EVEN LET ME LEAVE MY CAR. THE NEST CLOSEST DEALER IN CALUMET CITY, IL IS NOT TAKING TRANSMISSION WORK AT ALL. NOW, AFTER LEAVING WORK, MY CAR WILL NOT GO OVER 15MPH WITHOUT JERKING AND CHUGGING AND IT SEEMS THAT I HAVE NO WAY TO GET THE TRANSMISSION FIXED EVEN THOUGH IT'S UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE NO ONE WILL TAKE MY CAR.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 150,000.

The contact indicated that during the failure there was fuel in the fuel tank. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was included in the NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V515000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 120,000.
ELECTRIC POWER STEERING FAILED. THE FOLLOWING FORD ERROR OR FAULT CODES WERE IDENTIFIED: U3000:49-48 AND U3000:53-C8. FORD DEALERSHIP ADVISED REPLACEMENT COST WOULD BE APPROX. $2,600. VEHICLE IS A 2013 FORD FOCUS EV WITH APPROX. 60K MILES. BASED ON REPORTS READ ON NHTSA WEBSITE AND OTHER NOTABLE RESOURCES FORD HAS HAD ISSUES WITH ELECTRIC POWER STEERING IN SEVERAL MODELS. THOUGH THIS SPECIFIC MODEL AND YEAR ARE NOT IDENTIFIED IN A RECALL, THE ELECTRIC STEERING FAILURE AND ACCOMPANYING CODES FIT THE BILL WITH ISSUES COVERED IN A RECALL. WHEN THIS ISSUE OCCURRED THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON DOWNTOWN CITY STREETS, TRAVELING AT AN APPROX. SPEED OF 25 TO 30 MPH WHEN THE ELECTRIC STEERING FAILED. THIS EVENT CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO VEER OFF TO ONE DIRECTION AND STRIKE A CURB WHILE AT THE SAME TIME I DEPRESSED THE BRAKES TO STOP OR SLOW THE VEHICLE IN AN ATTEMPT TO REGAIN CONTROL. THE VEHICLE NEVER REGAINED ELECTRIC POWER STEERING CONTROL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AUTOMAX FORD (3301 E CENTRAL TEXAS EXPY, KILLEEN, TX 76543) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR BOX FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.
WITH NO CAUSE OR WARNING, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL NOTIFIED ME THAT "HILL ASSIST IS UNAVAILABLE". ALSO, WHEN STATIONARY, THERE APPEARS TO BE NO POWER STEERING WHEN ATTEMPTING TO TURN LEFT. THIS PROBLEM STOPS WHEN ROLLING FORWARD OR REVERSE. AFTER MOVING, THE PROBLEM DOES NOT REOCCUR (STOP SIGNS, STOP LIGHTS, ETC). IT DOES, HOWEVER, OCCUR AGAIN WHEN THE IGNITION IS TURNED OFF, THEN BACK ON. BOTH OF THESE PROBLEMS BEGAN AT THE SAME TIME.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE AN ADDITIONAL UNKNOWN SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED BUT FAILED TO FIX THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE FUEL TANK WAS DAMAGED HOWEVER, THE FUEL TANK WAS NOT REPLACED AS STATED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ALSO RECEIVED A FUEL SYSTEM CLEANING AND A FUEL INDUCTION INJECTION HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.

THE CONTACT SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH NYE FORD (1479 GENESEE ST, ONEIDA, NY 13421, (888) 769-0937) TO HAVE THE VEHICLE SERVICED. AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE FOR NEARLY A WEEK, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE SERVICED BECAUSE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER BACK AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY HAD NO EVIDENCE OF HER SPEAKING WITH A REPRESENTATIVE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT GIVEN A REFERENCE NUMBER AFTER HER CONVERSATION WITH THE INITIAL REPRESENTATIVE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESTART AFTER BEING FUELED. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AFTER A WHILE, BUT FAILED TO START AGAIN THREE DAYS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED: JOHN KENNEDY FORD (888-377-1951, LOCATED AT 1403 RIDGE PIKE, CONSHOHOCKEN, PA 19428). THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE PURGE VALVE ASSEMBLY, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE DAYS LATER. AFTER THE FUEL TANK WAS REFILLED, THE VEHICLE SHOOK, SHUDDERED, AND STALLED. ALSO, THE BATTERY AND CHECK ENGINE INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND THE FUEL CANISTER WAS REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,153.
THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T SHIFT RIGHT AND THESE DTC'S ARE PRESENT. P2831, P2832, P287B. I HAVE RAN THE TCM ADAPTIVE RELEARN SERVICE AND THESE WILL COME BACK ON SOONER OR LATER. I HAVE MAINLY BEEN ONLY WARMING UP MY CAR AND THEY WILL COME BACK ON SOMETIMES IN A FEW WEEKS. I HAVE CHANGED OUT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE DUE TO CORROSION AND I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO NOW? IS A TCM MODULE UPDATE NEEDED?
SEVERAL WEEKS AGO, RANDOM, SUDDEN THUDS BEGAN TO OCCUR ON WHAT SOUNDED LIKE THE ROOF OF THE CAR; SOMETIMES A SINGLE THUD, SOMETIMES TWO OR THREE. THIS WAS WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION; AND NOT WITH THE RADIO ON. IT HAPPENED DAILY, UNTIL THIS PAST WEEKEND, THROUGHOUT THE EVENING ON FRIDAY 10/11 AND WHENEVER DRIVING ON SATURDAY 10/12 AND SUNDAY 10/13 (WITHOUT THE RADIO OR CD PLAYER ON) LOUD, SUDDEN AND PROLONGED SIZZLING AND CRACKLING/POPPING SOUNDS WOULD BREAK OUT IN WHAT SOUNDED LIKE THE DASHBOARD(?) AND DOORS? MY GRANDDAUGHTER WAS WITNESS TO ALL OF THIS, AND WE BOTH WERE FRIGHTENED BY IT EACH TIME IT HAPPENED (A TOTAL OF 20+ TIMES?). I CONSIDERED NOT DRIVING THE CAR AT ALL, BUT HAVE NO OTHER MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION AND LIVE IN A SOMEWHAT RURAL AREA. IT OBVIOUSLY IS ELECTRICAL IN NATURE, AND IS A PROGESSION FROM THE THUDS THAT WERE INITIALLY HAPPENING SEVERAL WEEKS AGO. WHAT ON EARTH CAN BE GOING ON THIS CAR? AGAIN, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SOUND SYSTEM, BECAUSE IT ALL HAPPENS WHEN THE RADIO HASN'T EVEN BEEN TURNED ON. I'M AFRAID THAT A WIRING BREAKAGE HAS OCCURRED SOMEWHERE AND A FIRE COULD POTENTIONALLY BREAK OUT IN THE CAB!
WHILE DRIVING, THE WIPERS WILL GO OFF NON-STOP. I PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF THE CAR AND IT WAS STILL ON. I HAD TO PULL THE FUSE OFF TO GET TO MY DESTINATION. AT THIS TIME, IT'S STILL HAPPENING. ALL AT RANDOM TIMES WHILE DRIVING.
MY BATTERY UNEXPECTEDLY DIED. UPON FURTHER DIAGNOSTICS MY BATTERY IS CHARGE AND IS FINE. CAR CODE READER INDICATES TCM POWER LEVEL LOW. MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN A PARKING LOT WHERE I RECIEVED A JUMP.
THE TRANSMISSION FAIL COMES ON AND SAYS GET IT FIXED AND I JUST GOT THE CAR BACK FOR GETTING THE RECALLS FIXED ON IT NOW I'M HAVING THIS PROBLEM.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
I WAS DRIVING ON A NORMAL STREET I HADE THE GREEN LIGHT TO TURN LEFT AND AS I WAS TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL GOT REALLY HARD I ALMOST CRASH TO A POLE...THEN A (POWER STEERING SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON) THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THAT LIGHT CAME ON I WAS LOOKING FOR SOME INFORMATION ABOUT THE POWER STEERING AND IT SEEMS IM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM..

TOWED TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED TANK WAS NOW DEFORMED DUE TO THE VAPOR SYSTEM LOCK OF THE CPV SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 18S32 TECHNICIANS HAVE SENT PICTURES THAT THEY ARE IN POSSESSION OF AND SAID THEY COULD NOT GIVE US COPIES OF BUT ALLOWED US TO SEE AND SHOWED US THE TECHNICIANS RECOMMENDATIONS FOR TANK TO ALSO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE CPV . FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTERS HAVE NOT RETURNED PHONE CALLS AFTER BEING INFORMED OF OUR CONCERNS AND STATE SPECS DUE NOT MET THERE REQUIREMENT SO THEREFOR ARE REFUSING TO PAY FOR TANK TO BE REPLACED . ALTHOUGH THE SPECIALIST STATES DIFFERENT.

THE MANUFACTURER CONFIRMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE CONTACT'S HOME AND WAS CURRENTLY UNREPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE VEHICLE HAD A RECALL DONE 8 MONTHS AGO AND RECENTLY THE SAME PROBLEMS OF THE RECALL SUCH AS THE GAS TANK ISSUE AND THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES ARE STILL A PROBLEM N WENT TO FORD N TOLD WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BUT JUST 2 WEEKS AGO BEFORE I TOOK IT TO FORD ON A FRIDAY NIGHT I WAS DRIVING N MY CAR SHUT OFF AS I WAS ON A BUSY ROAD CARS PASSING ME BY MY CAR JUST SHUT OFF AND I PUSHED THE CAR TO THE SIDE STRESSED BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE MONEY FOR A TOW TRUCK AND I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG UNTIL SOMEONE SAID TRY PUTTING GAS IN IT AND I TOLD THEM MY TANK WAS HALF AND GAS MONITOR SAID I HAD 140 MILES TO GO BEFORE IT'S EMPTY BUT WHEN THE GAS WAS PUT IN THE CAR IT TURNED ON AND THE GAS MONITOR SHOWED 0 THEN IT WENT UP TO 260 AND THE OTHER ISSUE IS THE TRANSMISSION WHEN I'M DRIVING THE CAR STARTS TO JERK AND STALLS AND WHEN I COME TO A STOP MY RPM JUST GOES UP AS IF I'M STEPPING ON THE ACCELERATION BUT WHEN I LET GO OF THE BRAKE THE RPM DROPS N THE GOES SOUND LESS AS IF IT'S GOING TO TURN OFF THEN IT JERKS N DRIVES THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE A COUPLE OF TIMES I ALMOST GOT HIT FROM THE BACK AND WHILE DRIVING THIS CAR HAS TURNED OFF OR JERKS AND MAKES WEIRD NOISES AND I ONLY HAVE 61K MILEAGE ON IT SOMETHING HAS TO BE WRONG

I BROUGHT CAR TO FORD STAR BECAUSE I FEEL SHUDDER AND ALSO I RECEIVED LETTER FROM FORD ABOUT THE RECALL OF THE TRANSMISSION. AFTER 3DAYS THEY RELEASE THE CAR AND TELLING ME THAT SHUDDER AND JERKING ARE IN NORMAL LIMIT. AND THE CHARGE ME FOR THE LABOR OF $195.BECAUSE THEY SAY THAT IT HAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE CAR.

THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT IN MY CAR EARLIER IN THE DAY ON 9/17/19 WHEN I WAS MAKING SOME OF MY ROUNDS FOR WORK. I MADE A STOP AT A BUSINESS, AND WAS ONLY INSIDE FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES. I GOT BACK IN MY CAR, STARTED IT AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY HARD TO MOVE. I BACKED OUT AND WENT TO A STORE ABOUT 2 MILES DOWN THE ROAD. CHECKED SOME THINGS, BUT DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG. STARTED MY CAR AND IT WORKED. LATER THE SAME EVENING MY BOYFRIEND AND I DROPPED OFF OUR KIDS TO GO TO TOWN REAL QUICK. WE WERE ONLY GONE FROM THEM FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES WHEN WE WENT TO HEAD BACK TO GET THEM AND THE STEERING WASN'T WORKING AGAIN. THERE WAS NO NOISE, NO SIGN, NO LIGHT, NOTHING. IT JUST QUIT. WE CHECKED THE FUSE AND IT LOOKED FINE. IT DOESN'T THROW OUT ANY KIND OF CODE. IT SHOWS THAT IT HAS POWER. WE DID MAKE IT HOME, BEING VERY CAUTIOUS. IT'S NOT WORKING TODAY, SO THAT MEANS I CAN'T DO MY JOB. HOWEVER, WHEN WE STARTED SEARCHING THE INTERNET WE BOTH SEE ALL KINDS OF COMPLAINTS STATING THE SAME PROBLEMS. WHY HAS NOTHING BEEN DONE TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE? THERE WERE RECALLS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM ON OTHER VEHICLES, BUT NOT THE FOCUS. OBVIOUSLY THERE IS A PROBLEM THAT FORD NEEDS TO FIX.
I PURCHASED A 2013 FORD FOCUS SE ON OCTOBER 2014. IMMEDIATELY NOTICED ISSUES WITH CAR SHAKING UPON ACCELERATION. FIGURED IT HAD TO DO WITH THE TORQUE I DIDN'T KNOW BETTER. HAD RECALLS AND REPAIRS DONE IN 2015, A WEEK AFTER THAT HAD TO TAKE CAR BACK AGAIN FOR SAME ISSUES. IT WAS REPAIRED AGAIN. HERE WE ARE SEPTEMBER 16, 2019 AND SAME ISSUES. BUT NOW DEALERSHIP IS SAYING RECALL EXPIRES 7 YRS FROM WHEN CAR WAS MADE. NOT PURCHASED. I WAS JUST A WEEK PAST THE EXPIRATION DATE. IT WAS SEPT. 16TH, ABOUT 8:15PM. AFTER GETTING OFF WORK, I GOT INTO MY CAR AND STARTED IT UP. THERE CAME A SOUND AND WARNING ON THE DASH THAT A DOOR WAS AJAR. I TRIED MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR BUT THAT DIDN'T EFFECT THE WARNINGS. SO, I GOT OUT, OPENED AND THEN SLAM SHUT THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR. WHEN I GOT IN THE CAR, THE WARNINGS HAD STOPPED, SO I BACKED OUT, THEN PULLED FORWARD TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ONTO GARDEN GROVE BLVD., A FAIRLY BUSY STREET EVEN AT THIS LATER HOUR. WITH MY BLINKER ON AND THE WAY CLEAR, I ACCELERATED INTO THE STREET FOR MY LEFT TURN. I'D JUST GOTTEN INTO THE TURN WHEN THE PASSENGER DOOR SWUNG WIDE OPEN! BY DUMB LUCK, JUST AS THE TURN WAS FINISHED, THERE WAS AN ENTRANCE ON THE IMMEDIATE RIGHT INTO A LIQUOR STORE PARKING LOT. AFTER TRYING TO SECURELY CLOSE IT HALF A DOZEN TIMES, I TOOK OUT A CHUNK OF THICK ROPE FROM THE TRUNK AND TIED THE DOOR HANDLE TO THE CAR SEAT HEADREST POLE. WOW, PRETTY SCARY. IF SOMEONE WOULD HAVE BEEN UNBUCKLED AND SITTING THERE, THEY'D WOULD DEFINITELY NOT HAVE REMAINED IN THE CAR.
MY SON(I AM ON CAR LOAN ALSO) RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD FOR THE PURGE VALVE. HE TOOK IT TO HOPKINS FORD IN ELGIN, IL WHERE WE PURCHASED VEHICLE. THEY DID NOT REPLACE THE PURGE VALVE AND DID A FLASH PCM INSTEAD AND 3 DAYS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON FOR AN EVAPORATION LEAK-DIRECTLY RELATED TO PURGE VALVE. I HAVE CONTACTED THE OWNER OF DEALERSHIP, FORD MOTOR CO. TONY REINHART REGIONAL MANAGER FOR IL FORD AND NO ONE HAS RESPONDED.
THE FUEL TANKED IS DEFORMED AND THE FUEL GAUGE REFLECTS ONE-QUARTER TO ONE-HALF OF A TANK OF FUEL WHEN IT IS ACTUALLY EMPTY. THE RECALL NOTICE INDICATED THE FUEL TANK COULD BE REPLACED IF DEFORMED. MY FUEL TANK IS DEFORMED AND I MENTIONED THAT TO THE SERVICE ADVISOR. HE DIDN'T SEEM INTERESTED IN MY CONCERN. NOT KNOWING HOW MUCH FUEL IS REMAINING IN THE TANK IS A REAL PROBLEM. THE TANK IS DEFORMED AND SHOULD BE REPLACED AS PER THE RECALL.

I RECENTLY RECEIVED ANOTHER SAFETY RECALL. BROUGHT IN FOR SERVICE AN ALL THEY WOULD DO IS DIAGNOSE, BUT NOT FIX COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. I AM HAVING A CHALLENGING TIME DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY YET THEY TOLD ME IT'S OPERATING AS DESIGNED.
