AT THIS POINT I REFUSE TO DRIVE MY CAR ON THE FREEWAY. THE SHUDDERING AND JERKING ONLY GET WORSE WHEN THE CAR WARMS UP.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PARK THE VEHICLE AT A NEARBY FUEL STATION AND THEN DROVE HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
BACKING OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND STEERING WHEEL SIEZED UP. WARNING LIGHT COMES ON SAYING STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE. TAKE IT TO DEALER THEY SAY NEED TO REPLACE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY RACK AND PINION AND SOME MODULE. TOTAL 2647.00 WITH 88000 MILES.
STARTING TO DRIVE CAR HESITATES AND VIBRATES.
THE CAR VIBRATES WHEN YOU ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. AND IT ONLY HAPPENS FROM A STOP AND NOW WHILE DRIVING . SEVERAL FORUMS SHOW THAT THEY ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THINKING IT'S THE TRANSMISSION BUT THEY STATE IT'S FINE.
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT CAUSES A STUTTERING MOVEMENT FROM A STOP. WHEN PRESSING THE GAS FROM A STOPPED POSITION IT STARTS TO SHAKE UPON ACCELERATION. THE CAR ALMOST FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND MAY CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STOP. I FEEL THAT I AM UNSAFE WHEN THIS HAPPENS.
NEEDS ANOTHER CLUTCH REPLACEMENT AND TCM STILL SHUDDERING.

THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TIED THE DOOR CLOSED WITH A CORD. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO MIKE FITZPATRICK FORD (238 BULLSBORO DR, NEWNAN, GA 30263) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE LATCH ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE'S DOOR LATCHES WERE REPAIRED PREVIOUSLY ON AUGUST 3, 2015 AND AUGUST 6, 2017. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED FOR THE RECENT FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 103,000.
POWER STEERING ASSIST SEEMS TO HAVE FAILED ,HARD TO STEERWHEN TURNING,ALSO HARD TO DRIVE STREIGHT
WHEN DRIVING MY CAR IT STUDDERS AND SHAKES VIOLENTLY AND I'M NOT SURE WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. I HAVE READ ABOUT THE ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND WANTED TO MAKE SURE MY PROBLEM WAS ENTERED.
The system has not failed yet, but the exterior lights of this car are a safety concern to me and my family. There is no visibility at night, when it is raining, or any tough conditions on the road. With no proper illumination, the risk for an accident is higher. These exterior lights need to be replaced with better quality lights. I called the Ford dealership where I bought the car and I gave them my car pin number, and they told me there are no recalls for this vehicle regarding exterior lights.

THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V813000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH PLANET FORD (20403 I-45, SPRING, TX 77388, (281) 719-3700) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WERE UNAWARE OF ANY RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEALER BACK AND WAS INFORMED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE MAY BE DUE TO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER, WHICH FAILED PRIOR TO THE RECALL REPAIR. WHEN THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR THE RECALL REPAIR, THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WAS NOT RELATED TO THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 122,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO KEN WILSON FORD LOCATED AT (769 CHAMPION DR, CANTON, NC 28716) BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHEN I ACCELERATE FROM A STOP THE CAR SHUTTERS/JERKS. FEELS LIKE STRONG TUMBLE STRIPS. ALSO ALMOST LIKE WHEELS ARE LOCKING AND TRYING TO GRIP. I HAVE BEEN SCARED AT I INTERSECTIONS AS WITH HESITATION THE CAR DOESN'T HAVE MUCH POWER. ONCE IT SHIFTS (I HAVE AUTOMATIC) IT'S FINE. DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME EITHER.
DAILY DRIVER AFTER MULTIPLE TRANSMISSION REPAIRS STILL SHUDDERING EVERY TIME, JERKY TRANSMISSION HESITATES WITH LACK OF POWER.
2013 FORD FOCUS JERKS WHILE ACCELERATING, WAS TOLD RECALL WAS FOR EXTENDED WARRANTY ONLY VIA KINDLE FORD. ALSO THE TRUNK NO LONGER OPENS, BUT BEEPS WHEN CAR IS ON SAYING THE TRUNK IS OPEN. WAS TOLD THIS WAS A RECALL IN 2017 THAT WAS FIXED BEFORE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, BUT NOW IT'S UP TO US TO PAY FOR IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED PER THE RECALL DUE TO THE MILEAGE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS 23983015. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND STUTTERING. CAR SLIPS OUT OF GEAR WHEN DRIVING. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN HIT MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE IN MOTION PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC ONLY TO HAVE CAR SLIP OUT OF GEAR AND NOT MOVE ANYMORE. CAR HAS SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR ON HIGHWAY MANY TIMES WHILE IN MOTION
WHILE TURNING A CORNER MY CAR VIBRATES AND SHAKES AND HEAR AS IF METAL IS HITTING UNDERNEATH. WHEN PUSHING ON GAS TO GO, THE CAR WILL JERK. DOESN'T WANT TO REV LIKE IT NEEDS TO. WILL SHAKE AGGRESSIVELY WHEN BRAKING. HAVE TO LET OFF GAS THEN PUSH BACK DOWN ON IT TO MAKE IT STOP SHAKING. ALSO VIBRATES WHEN IN PARK INTENSELY
ALL DASH LIGHTS SUCH AS TRACTION CONTROL IS OFF STEERING ASSIST TURNS OFF ETC ALL APPEAR ON THE DASH AND THE CAR USUALLY STALLS AND VARIOUS MESSAGES POP UP SUCH AS ENGINE FAULT SERVICE NOW AND TRANSMISSION FAULT SERVICE NOW THIS HAS BEEN AN ON AND OFF PROBLEM AND IT WILL COME AND GO WHICH MEANS MY CAR IS AT RISK AT STALLING AT ANY MOMENT WHILE DRIVING AND WENT TO NUMEROUS REPAIR SHOPS AND EVEN WENT TO A FORD DEALER TO FIX A RECALL AND STILL THE PROBLEMS REMAINS THERE MY VEHICLE STOPPED IN A THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD NUMEROUS TIMES LEAVING ME STRANDED I EVEN LOST MY JOB BECAUSE OF MY CAR AND AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH MY GUESS IS THAT IS HAS TO BE EITHER THE WIRING HARNESS OR THE BCM OR POSSIBLY BOTH BECAUSE EVERYTIME THE VEHICLE LOSSES POWER AND TURNS BACK ON I USUALLY HOOK UP A SCAN TOOL AND SEE THE CODES AND THE CODE THAT ALWAYS POPS UP OR IT DECLARED AS PERMANENT IS "LOSS COMMUNICATION WITH TCM/PCM" I FORGOT THE NUMBER THE CODE IS ASSOCIATED WITH BUT THAT WAS THE DESCRIPTION OF THE CODE
RECALL 18V735 WAS ISSUED ALMOST A YEAR AGO. HOWEVER, FORD SEEMS UNINTERESTED IN CORRECTING THE ISSUE. SAFECAR.GOV REPORTS: "RECALL STATUS: RECALL INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE." I'M STILL WAITING AND WAITING ON A FIX., DRIVING A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS VEHICLE IN THE MEANTIME.
CAR HAS HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES SINCE WE BOUGHT IS NEW. WE TOOK THE CAR IN SEVERAL TIMES FOR HESITATION, SLOW TO CATCH GEARS WHEN ACCELERATING AND STUTTERING. REPLACED SENSOR AND TOLD US TO PUSH THE GAS TO THE FLOOR AND LET IT GO THROUGH THE GEARS TO REST THE SYSTEM (DO AS NEEDED). WE FIND OUR SELVES AGAIN NEEDING TO REPLACE TRANSMISSION PARTS. NOW THEY TELL US IF IT IS NOT FIXED SOON THE CAR COULD SLIP INTO NEUTRAL ON THE HIGHWAY OR WE COULD LOOSE REVERSE. NOT SURE WHY WE ARE NOT COVERED BY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I FEEL THAT A DEALER TELLING YOU THE CAR CAN GO INTO NEUTRAL ON THE HIGHWAY IS TELLING ME THAT THE CAR IS UNSAFE.
THIS IS A CONSUMER PROTECTION ISSUE, BUT MOREOVER THIS IS SAFETY ISSUE. I NEED HELP. THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW FOR MY DAUGHTER TO FINISH HIGH SCHOOL, GO TO COLLEGE, AND START HER CAREER. SO I BOUGHT AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE OIL HAS BEEN CHANGED EVERY 5K BY A FORD DEALER AND EVERY REPAIR SUGGESTED HAS BEEN COMPLETED. WITHIN THE FIRST TWO WEEKS, IT WAS OBVIOUS THE CAR WAS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY, AS EXHIBITED BY SHUDDERING AND FAILED ACCELERATION. IT ALSO HESITATES TO THE POINT THAT WE COULD GET HIT PULLING INTO TRAFFIC OR TRYING TO AVOID BEING HIT. THE DEALER OFFERED MANY EXCUSES OVER THE NEXT YEAR BUT I FINALLY RECEIVED THE REMEDY... "A" NEW CLUTCH. FORD THEN CALLED ME DIRECTLY TO GIVE ME A DEAL THAT WOULD HELP ME GET INTO ANOTHER CAR. THIS WAS NOTHING MORE THAN A SALES PITCH TO BUY A FUSION, WHICH I COULDN'T AFFORD. UNDER DELAWARE LAW, I HAD A CASE FOR A LEMON LAW COMPLAINT. BUT I TRUSTED FORD. SINCE THEN, I HAVE HAD REPAIRS TO THE TRANSMISSION, MOST OF WHICH PROVIDED FOR BY MY EXTENDED WARRANTY, OTHER TIMES PAID IN PART BY ME. FORD EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FOR ALL OWNERS, BUT NOT FOR ME. I SHOULD HAVE RECEIVED THE SAME EXTENSION ON TOP OF MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. ON 7/19/19, I NOTIFIED DEALER THAT THE CAR NEEDED SERVICE & I WAS STILL HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I REFERENCED THE TSB ADVISING DEALERS TO DIAGNOSE AND FIX ANY FOCUS WITH TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS (REPORTED 7/12-19,2019). MY DEALER HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND I NEED CLUTCHES. IT WILL COST ME $1800 WHICH I CANNOT AFFORD. I DRIVE A 2001 VEHICLE SO MY DAUGHTER CAN GO TO COLLEGE 14 HOURS AWAY. SHE IS LEAVING IN 2 WEEKS. WHY WOULD FORD NOT HONOR THAT GUIDANCE FOR ME? WHY IS THERE NO OTHER REMEDY, SUCH AS A REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION? BECAUSE THEY WANT TO SELL REPLACEMENT PARTS AND LABOR AT FULL COST, PASSING THE COST OF SAFETY ONTO THE CONSUMER & THE VICTIMS OF CRASHES THE PROBLEM WILL ULTIMATELY CAUSE.
JUST PICKED UP YESTERDAY AFTER 4TH TRANSMISSION VISIT. CAR WAS HARD SHIFTING IN LOW SPEEDS AND WHEN ACCELERATING THE CAR WILL HESITATE AND LUNGE. WON'T DRIVE DISTANCE OR ON FREEWAY ONLY GOOD FOR LOCAL SMALL ROUTES.
WRAY FORD IN BOSSIER TESTED IT, SAID IT WAS A PCM SOFTWARE AND THAT IT WILL COST ME 1600 DOLLARS TO FIX IT. I GAVE FORD THE RECALL NUMBER. THEY TOLD ME THAT MY CAR IS OVER 150,000 MILES AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. NOW THIS IS MY SECOND RECALL ON MY CAR, THE FIRST RECALL WAS THE LATCHES, MY DOORS WOULDN'T STAY CLOSE, FORD REPLACE ALL 4 OF MY DOORS, AND BRUCE LEE TOLD ME I HAD ANOTHER RECALL THAT I NEEDED TO GET FIX BUT I HAD TO BRING IT BACK. NOW MY CAR WILL NOT START. AND FORD IS TRYING TO CHARGE ME FOR THE RECALL

I WAS ENTERING THE ON RAMP FOR THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 15 MPH. HOWEVER, THE RPM'S WENT UP TO 4-5. I IMMEDIATELY GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE PROBLEM PERSISTED WHEN TRY TO ACCELERATE AFTER EACH STOP SIGN AND LIGHT ON CITY STREETS..
I WAS BACKING UP AT A GAS STATION AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT JUST QUIT STEERING. I WAS MOVING VERY SLOWLY SO WAS ABLE TO STOP WITH MY BRAKES, BUT IT WAS A VERY CLOSE CALL
MY 2013 FORD FOCUS HAS A SHUDDERING AND OTHER KNOWN SHIFTING PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DPS6 CLUTCH ISSUES. THE DETROIT FREE PRESS HAS OUTLINED THESE KNOWN ISSUES WITH FORD AND I AM EXPERIENCING THEM AS WELL. THESE TRANSMISSION ISSUE OCCUR WHEN I ACCELERATE AND MAY ALSO HAPPEN WHEN I AM STATIONARY. DUE TO THESE SAFETY ISSUES I AM NOT WILLING TO TRAVEL WITH MY KIDS OR WIFE IN THE CAR. I HAVE TO DRIVE THE CAR AS A DAILY DRIVER BUT THERE IS NO WAY I AM PLACING MY FAMILY IN DANGER BY DRIVING THEM IN THE CAR.
VEHICLE TRANSMISSION STUTTERING WHILE DRIVING. AC IS OUT. MULTIPLE ELECTRIC ISSUES
TRANSMISSION SHIFTING ISSUES THAT AFFECT THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE IN USE. TRANSMISSION WILL LAG, HARD SHIFT, VEHICLE WILL GET "STUCK" WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WILL VIOLENTLY SHAKE AND SHUDDER GOING AROUND SLOW TURNS OR WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. IN TRAFFIC, THE ACCELERATION LAG AS WELL AS SHE SHUDDERING ARE DANGEROUS. THE VEHICLES BRAKES DO NOT RESPOND AS WELL WHEN SHUDDERING. FORD INSISTS THAT ALL VEHICLE PARTS ARE OPERATING CORRECTLY. IF THAT IS THE CASE, FORD HAS DESIGNED AN INCREDIBLY UNSAFE VEHICLE.

FURTHERMORE, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT IMMEDIATELY START WHEN IT WAS CRANKED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO REYNOLDS FORD OF OKC (833-821-8065, LOCATED AT 7320 NW EXPY, OKLAHOMA CITY, OK 73132) WHERE THE SOFTWARE SYSTEM WAS UPDATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND CONFIRMED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR WAS TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE SYSTEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,402.

THE VEHICLE WAS NEXT TAKEN TO MIKE CASTRUCCI FORD (1020 OH-28, MILFORD, OH 45150, (513) 275-1048) HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MECHANIC PERFORMED SERVICE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000/19V515000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) WHICH FAILED TO FIX THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 220,000.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND MY CAR BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND I LOST POWER TO MY GAS AND BRAKE SYSTEM... BEFORE THIS EVERY TIME I PUT GAS INTO IT ....IT ACTS LIKE GOING TO STALE
MY SON HAD JUST DRIVEN TO ALTOONA, PA FROM WASH DC, PARKED THE CAR, AND WENT INTO HOUSE. CAME OUT OF HOUSE, GOT INTO CAR TO DRIVE TO STATE COLLEGE , PA WHERE HE IS A STUDENT AT PSU. WAS UNABLE TO STEER THE CAR. LUCKILY THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN WHILE HE WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO STUCKEY FORD IN HOLLIDAYSBURG, PA. SHOULDN'T SUCH A DANGEROUS MALFUNCTION,ESPECIALLY WITH ONLY 40,000 MILES , QUALIFY AS A RECALL ? COST OF REPAIR WAS $2495.00.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING STOPPED FUNCTIONING WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. THE 'STEERING ASSIST FAULT, SERVICE REQUIRED' MESSAGE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,604. THE VIN WAS INVALID. *TR*JB
POWER SHIFT DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION IS JUMPING AND SEEMING TO GO IN AND OUT OF GEAR. IT HAS BEEN REPLACED ONCE ALREADY BUT NOW STARTING TO DO IT AGAIN AFTER 25000 TO 35000 MILES. I HAVE BEEN NOTICING A SHUTTER MORE AND MORE LATELY. FORD KNEW ABOUT THIS SAFETY ISSUE AND DID NOTHING ABOUT IT AND NOT I DO NOT FEEL LIKE MY VEHICLE IS SAFE TO DRIVE. THERE ARE SEVERAL THINGS THAT I NOTICE ABOUT THIS TRANSMISSION THAT MAKES IT UNSAFE. SOMETIMES SLIPS OUT OF GEAR, SHUTTERS ON TAKE OFF, AND SHAKES AT AN IDLE. I AM THE 2ND OWNER ON THE VEHICLE, WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN NOV 2018 THE PREV OWNER TOLD ME THAT A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS IN PLACE WITHOUT THIS ISSUE, BUT I FOUND OUT THAT IT WAS JUST THE FORD FIX TO THE TRANSMISSION WHICH MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH AS IT WAS NOT FIXED AS A LONG TERM FIX BUT A SHORT TERM FIX.
DRIVING MY 2013 FORD FOCUS, I HAD STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN. WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE THE WARNING "HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE" FLASHED AND THEN THE CAR TURNED OFF. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS I GOT THE CAR STARTED, BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND "TRANSMISSION FAULT SERVICE NOW" FLASHED. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME AND IT WAS CHECKED OUT BY AN AUTO REPAIR GUY. HE TRIED TO REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER BUT THE THE TRANSMISSION FAULT ERROR CONTINUES TO FLASH AND THE CAR WON'T START.
SUNDAY JULY 21ST, I NOTICED THE CAR WAS LURCHING ERRATICALLY WHILE DRIVING NO MORE THAN 35 MPH AND FROM STOPS. I REALLY DIDN'T THINK MUCH ABOUT IT, BECAUSE THE CAR HAS ALWAYS DRIVEN LIKE CRAP. ON THE 22ND, I NOTICED THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON WHEN I STARTED THE CAR. I TOOK MY CHANCES AND STARTED TO DRIVE TO WORK. IT WAS A TOTAL LURCH FEST FOR THE 3 MILES I DROVE, AND I DECIDED TO DRIVE TO MY MOTHER'S HOUSE INSTEAD OF DRIVING ON TO WORK. I SOMEHOW MANAGED TO PARK IT SAFELY AT HER RESIDENCE. I CALLED FOR A TOW TO THE DEALERSHIP, SUNSET FORD OF ST. LOUIS. IT IS NOW SITTING THERE AWAITING DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN BASICALLY ALREADY INFORMED ME THAT HE EXPECTS MY REPAIR TO NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I ALREADY HAD A MAJOR TRANSMISSION OVERHAUL 2 OR 3 YEARS AGO, I THINK. THAT ONE WAS STILL COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE CAR ONLY HAS 43000 MILES ON IT. THIS IS THE 5TH TIME I HAVE BROUGHT IT IN FOR THIS ISSUE, I BELIEVE. ALSO OF NOTE, I NEVER RECEIVED THE FOLLOW UP LETTER FROM THE 18S32/18-V-735 NHTSA RECALL FROM FORD NOTIFYING ME THAT THE PARTS WERE AVAILABLE FOR REPAIR. THE TECHNICIAN LOOKED AT ME LIKE I HAD 4 HEADS WHEN I TOLD HIM I NEVER RECEIVED THE LETTER. I ASKED HIM IF HE HAD HEARD FROM ANYONE ELSE THAT THEY HAD NEVER GOTTEN THE LETTER. HE SAID NO. I DON'T BELIEVE HIM.
CAR WAS SITTING IDLING FOR APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES WITH THE AC ON, THEN PROCEEDED TO DRIVE SLOWLY OUT OF PARKING LOT AS SOON AS I GOT OUT OF PARKING LOT, ABOUT 500 FT THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT, NO WARNING THAT I WAS AWARE OF IT JUST WENT OUT. I WAS ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND WHEN I RESTARTED THE VEHICLE IT WAS FINE.
MY CAR'S DPS6 TRANSMISSION IS JUMPY, CATCHES, AND SLIPS EVERY SINGLE TIME I DRIVE MY CAR. THE CAR VIOLENTLY SHAKES EVERY TIME THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO SHIFT UP, AND SOME TIMES WILL SLIP WHEN DOWNSHIFTING TO A COMPLETE STOP. THIS HAS BEEN PERSISTING SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR RIGHT AFTER ITS INITIAL RELEASE AND HAS BEEN UNABLE TO BE MITIGATED BY REPEATED TRIPS TO MECHANICS AND FORD DEALERSHIPS. I HAVE REPEATEDLY STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS WHEN ACCELERATING BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS INTO NEUTRAL AND I MUST COME TO A STOP BEFORE IT WILL SHIFT BACK INTO GEAR.
MY 2013 FORD FOCUS STALLED OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AND WOULD NOT START DUE TO A FAULTY TCM. WE DO NOT MAKE RIGHT-HAND TURNS ON RED BECAUSE THE VEHICLE DOES ACCELERATE PROPERLY AND SHIMMERS AND SHAKES WHEN ACCELERATING. WE HAVE ADVISED FORD OF THIS ISSUE AND WAS ADVISED THIS IS NORMAL PERFORMANCE FOR THIS CAR.
MY CAR WAS ON RECALL ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION AND THE GAS THEY ONLY FIX THE GAS LEAK BUT THEY SAY THEY DON'T HAVE THE PART FOR THE TRANSMISSION
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR OUT OF THE GAS STATION AND I TURNED LEFT AND HONKED THE HORN BECAUSE SOMEONE WAS STILL SITTING AT THE GREEN LIGHT. AS I TURNED MY STEERING WHEEL BACK STRAIGHT THE WIPERS CAME ON BY THEMSELVES AND WOULDN'T GO BACK OFF. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A YEAR. THEY TURN ON BY THEMSELVES EVEN WHEN THE KEY IS OUT OF THE IGNITION. I HAVE VIDEO PROOF NOT PICTURES. THEY DON'T WORK IN THE RAIN AND I'VE TRIED JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING I CAN TO FIX THEM BUT TO NO AVAIL. IF YOU LOOK UP WIPERS COMING ON BY THEMSELVES ON 2013 FORD FOCUS YOU'LL SEE THAT MY CAR ISN'T THE ONLY ONE DOING THIS. I'M SCARED SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET INJURED OR POSSIBLY KILLED BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T SEE WHEN A RAINSTORM SNEAKS UP ON THEM.
SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW IN 2013, IT HAS HESITATED AND SHUDDERED BADLY, ESPECIALLY WHEN BEGINNING TO MOVE FROM A STOP AND WHEN SHIFTING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR. PEOPLE WHO RIDE IN THE CAR ALWAYS ASK ME WHAT'S WRONG WITH IT. I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE FORD DEALER REPEATEDLY, BUT THE SERVICE MANAGER HAS ALWAYS CLAIMED HE DOESN'T FEEL ANYTHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY. HE SAYS IT'S JUST THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTING GEARS. ONCE I GOT SO EXASPERATED I TOOK IT BACK AND TOOK THE SERVICE MANAGER FOR A RIDE IN IT MYSELF. IT SHUDDERED AND HESITATED BADLY DURING THE ENTIRE RIDE. HE STILL CLAIMED HE COULDN'T FEEL ANYTHING UNUSUAL. TWICE WHEN I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT, THE CAR HAS SHIFTED ITSELF FROM DRIVE INTO NEUTRAL AND THE VEHICLE HAS COASTED TO A STOP, TOTALLY WITHOUT POWER. WHEN I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AFTER THESE OCCURRENCES, THE SERVICE MANAGER HAS SAID THAT IT IS SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR A CAR TO SHIFT ITSELF FROM DRIVE INTO NEUTRAL. I HAVE RESPONDED THAT IT VERY CLEARLY IS POSSIBLE FOR A CAR TO SHIFT ITSELF FROM DRIVE INTO NEUTRAL, BECAUSE THE CAR HE SOLD ME HAS DONE IT TWICE NOW WHEN I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IT. THE LAST TIME WE SPOKE, I POINTED OUT TO THE SERVICE MANAGER THAT HIS DEALERSHIP SOLD ME A CAR I CAN'T DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY FOR FEAR OF LOSING POWER DOING 70 MILES AN HOUR WITH A LARGE TRUCK RIGHT BEHIND ME AND BEING RUN OVER. I ALSO POINTED OUT THAT THEY SOLD ME A CAR THAT I CAN'T IN GOOD CONSCIENCE ALLOW MY WIFE AND KIDS TO DRIVE. I ASKED HIM TO MAKE IT RIGHT. HE REPLIED THAT THE CAR IS PERFECTLY SAFE AND THAT IT IS COMPLETELY UP TO ME IF I CHOOSE NOT TO DRIVE IT IN FREEWAY TRAFFIC, AT HIGH SPEEDS, OR LET MY WIFE AND KIDS DRIVE IT. CLEARLY, FORD AND ITS DEALERS HAVE NO INTENTION OF 'DOING THE RIGHT THING' HERE. I TRUST THAT NHTSA FINALLY WILL.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED IN JULY 2014. IT HAD ABOUT 3,500 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME. WITHIN A FEW DAYS, I NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A "SHUDDER" TO IT AND MADE A HORRIBLE SCRAPING SOUND WHEN GOING AROUND CORNERS. I TOOK IT TO THE PLACE WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND A PROBLEM. SINCE THEN, IT'S REALLY BEEN JUST ONE THING AFTER ANOTHER. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP FOR SAFETY RECALLS INVOLVING (1) A SOFTWARE UPDATE TO CORRECT ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT FAILURES, (2) A SIDE DOOR LATCH REPLACEMENT, AND (3) A PROBLEM WITH THE CPV. I HAVE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE FRONT SHOCKS - A VISIT THAT UNCOVERED ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS WITH ORIGINAL PARTS THAT ALSO RESULTED IN MY VEHICLE BEING IMMOBILIZED FOR MORE THAN ONE DAY AND RESULTED IN ADDITIONAL EXPENSES OF A RENTAL VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN VERY DILIGENT IN THE UPKEEP OF THIS VEHICLE WITH OIL CHANGES, FILTER REPLACEMENTS, A NEW BATTERY, AND TIRES. STILL, I AM PRESENTLY EXPERIENCING CHALLENGES WITH THIS CAR ACCELERATING AFTER BRAKING. IT FEELS LIKE IT IS JUMPING GEARS AND IS RELUCTANT TO UP-SHIFT. THIS IS VERY SIMILAR TO THE OVERALL "BEHAVIOR" OF THE CAR BEFORE I TOOK IT IN FOR THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT FAILURE RECALL. I HAVE ALSO, ON OCCASION, NOTED THAT THERE SEEMS A DELAY WHEN I AM BRAKING (BRAKES WERE REPLACED IN JUNE 2019). I FEEL THAT THESE PROBLEMS INCREASE THE LIKELIHOOD THAT I WILL GET REAR-ENDED OR PERHAPS REAR-END SOMEONE MYSELF WHEN APPROACHING OR LEAVING STOP LIGHTS.
