VEHICLE JERKS/STUTTERS THROUGH 1ST AND SECOND GEAR WHEN ACCELERATING. TAKEN VEHICLE TO MULTIPLE FORD DEALERS AT LEAST SIX TIMES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH SEVERAL UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS INOPERABLE. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WAS CALLED AND JUMP STARTED THE VEHICLE AND ADDED FUEL TO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH. ADDITIONALLY, AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE RPM REVVED UP HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE RESPOND UP TO 10 MPH. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIKE REICHENBACH FORD LINCOLN LOCATED AT (600 N COIT ST, FLORENCE, SC 29501), TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT AN UNKNOWN SOFTWARE UPDATE NEEDED TO BE PERFORMED WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.*DT CONSUMER STATED THAT VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIKE REICHENBACH ON 9/12/2019 FOR THE REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. CONSUMER FOUND OUT LATER THAT NO REPAIRS WERE ACTUALLY MADE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTO ZONE WHERE IT WAS FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE WHICH WAS PART OF THE RECALL. ON 3/2/2020 CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO RACEWAY FORD OF DARLINGTON TO BE REPAIRED. RACEWAY FORD REFUSED TO REPAIR VEHICLE BECAUSE MIKE REICHENBACH HAD CLOSED THE RECALL. CONSUMER SAYS VEHICLE CONTINUES TO STALL RANDOMLY AND THAT AFTER REFUELING VEHICLE HAS TO BE RUNNING WITH THE GAS PEDAL DEPRESSED BEFORE IT CAN BE DRIVEN. *DL
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN THE RAIN, FRONT WIPERS STOPPED WORKING CAUSING VISIBILITY ISSUES. REAR WIPERS CONTINUED TO WORK CORRECTLY. AFTER PARKING, WE TRIED THE WIPERS AGAIN, STILL WOULD NOT WORK. TRIED WIPERS AGAIN LATER IN DAY IN A GARAGE, THEY STILL WOULD NOT WORK. CHECKED FUSE, FUSE IS STILL GOOD. SWAPPED FUSE WITH ANOTHER KNOWN WORKING FUSE, BOTH FUSES WORKED BUT WIPERS STILL DID NOT WORK. LATER WIPERS STARTED WORKING WITHOUT PROMPT, AGAIN CAUSING VISIBILITY ISSUES AS IT WAS NOT RAINING, BUT WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN OR TURN OFF. SHUT CAR OFF, REMOVED KEY FROM IGNITION AND WIPERS CONTINUED TO RUN UNTIL FUSE WAS PULLED AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN AT APPROXIMATELY 7 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR OPENED. THE CONTACT HAD TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND HAVE THE PASSENGER HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SUNRISE FORD (5435 US-1, FT PIERCE, FL 34982) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SAME DEALER REPLACED ALL FOUR DOOR LATCHES IN 2017 AS PART OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V643000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES), BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE RECURRENCE. THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE TO BE REPAIRED AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN GIVING US PROBLEMS SINCE WE GOT THE VEHICLE. RIGHT NOW, IT IS AGAIN IN THE SHOP. IT IS REPAIRED AND THEN THERE IS ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH THE SAME SYSTEM. WHEN WE TAKE IT INTO THE SHOP, NUMEROUS PROBLEMS SHOW UP. WE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR ONLY A LITTLE OVER A YEAR SO IT WOULD SEEM TO INDICATE THAT THERE ARE SERIOUS PROBLEMS.
THE CAR JERKS AND SHUTTERS WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A COMPLETE STOP. THIS IS WORSE WHEN THE A/C IS ON. WHEN ACCELERATING THE CAR WILL JERK BETWEEN SHIFTING GEARS CAUSING THE CAR TO MOVE SLOWER AT TAKE OFF WHICH HAS ALMOST CAUSED MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MORLAN-SHELL FORD (1824 PORTER WAGONER BLVD, WEST PLAINS, MO 65775, (417) 256-3193) WHERE MULTIPLE DIAGNOSTIC TESTS WERE PERFORMED, WHICH DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED FIVE TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: 96-182145. POWER STEERING FAULT NUMEROUS TIMES AND CAR HAS TO BE SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES TO GET POWER STEERING TO WORK SO THE CAR IS DRIVEABLE
ONE DAY WHILE FILLING CAR UP.. I NOTICED A FEW DROPS OF GAS ON THE GROUND AFTERWARDS. TODAY I WANTED TO ADD $8 TO MY GAS TANK. THE MOMENT I STARTED PUMPING THE GAS STARTED COMING OUT. I TRIED A FEW TIMES TO CONTINUE BUT I KEPT COMING OUT.
MY 2013 FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK POWER STEERING STOP WORKING! THIS IS NOT GOOD BECAUSE NOW I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO HIT SOMETHING BECAUSE I CAN NO LONGER MANEUVER AROUND IT. THE CAR IS HARD TO STEER AND SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON ANY VEHICLE! LUCKILY THIS HAPPENED HOURS AFTER GETTING HOME FROM WORK. NOW I HAVE TO DRIVE MY CAR LIKE THIS UNTIL I PAY IT OFF OR TRADE IT IN! THAT'S CRAZY AND I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAD THIS ISSUE!
ALONG WITH THE MYRIAD OF FORD DPS6 TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, AND REPAIRS OVER THE PAST 4 YEARS, I ALSOY HAD AN EVENT THAT COULD HAVE CAUSED A FATALITY DIRECTLY RELATED TO THE PERFORMANCE OF THE POWER TRAIN AND ENGINE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A LIGHT ACCELERATION FOR A CITY GREEN TRAFFIC SIGNAL FOR A LEFT 90 DEGREE TURN THE CAR UNILATERALLY INCREASED THE SPEED AND RPM'S. THE CAR WAS MOVING SO FAST I NEARLY HIT A TREE ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE INTERSECTION AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED. I HAD TO REPEATEDLY HIT THE GAS PEDDLE WITH MY FOOT TO STOP THE ACCELERATION, WHILE MAINTAINING DIRECTIONAL CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I AM STILL WAITING FOR FORD TO CONTACT ME ABOUT THE OTHER FUEL RECALL ISSUE RELATED TO THIS VEHICLE SO THEY CAN ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AS WELL.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND THE TRANSMISSION QUIT WORKING. A LIGHT CAME ON AND SAID TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING PULL OVER. I BARELY MADE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHEN YOU HIT THE GAS PEDAL, THE CARD WOULD NOT GO.
THE WARNING IN THE ATTACHED PICTURE CAME UP AND POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING. WARNING GOES OUT WHEN YOU TURN CAR OFF BUT IT'S RIGHT BACK ON WHEN YOU START THE CAR.. I WENT TO LEAVE FOR WORK AND STARTED THE CAR AND WENT TO PULL OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND COULD BARELY TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. SO I PARKED IT AND GOT IN MY PICK UP TRUCK. HAVEN'T DRIVEN IT SINCE BECAUSE IT WON'T GO OUT. HAD ANOTHER ISSUE WITH THE CAR. I HAD IT FIXED AT FORD FOR SEVERAL HUNDRED DOLLARS AND THEN A RECALL CAME OUT. WAS WAITING TO SEE IF A RECALL CAME OUT ON THIS ISSUE.
THIS CAR REPEATEDLY THRUSTS FORWARD AT LOWER GEARS WHILST IN TRAFFIC AND WHILE IN MOTION. IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED TWICE WITHIN A 6-MONTH TIME-FRAME FOR THE FAULTY DPS6 TRANSMISSION. THE CAPLESS GAS TANK IS ALSO PRESENTING A CONSTANT ISSUE, INVOLVING A LEAK OF SOME SORT THAT CONTINUES TO REOCCUR. I HAVE BEEN IN NUMEROUS SITUATIONS THAT COULD HAVE PROVEN TO BE FATAL AS A RESULT OF THE TRANSMISSION RESPONDING TOO LATE: AS WELL AS THRUSTING AT LOWER SPEEDS WHEN COMING OUT OF A STOP OR TRAFFIC BACK-UP. THIS ISSUES HAPPEN WHILE IN MOTION, OR WHEN MAKING AN ATTEMPT TO GO INTO MOTION.
FOR AWHILE MY SPEAKERS WOULD MAKE A WEIRD POP NOISE ALMOST AS IF SOMEONE WAS DISCONNECTING AN AUX CORD AND THEN THE ENTIRE RADIO WOULD STOP WORKING. THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE IT WORK AGAIN WOULD BE TO TURN THE CAR ALL THE WAY OFF AND THEN BACK ON AGAIN. AS TIME WENT ON IT GOT WORSE. IT USED TO RANDOMLY MAKE A REALLY LOUD STATIC LIKE CRACKLING NOISE NO MATTER WHAT THE VOLUME WAS AT AND ID HAVE TO TURN THE RADIO OFF TO FIX IT. EVEN TURNING THE CAR OFF WOULDN'T WORK ANYMORE. NOW THE SCREEN IS BLANK AND THE RADIO DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. I CAN'T TURN THE RADIO OFF OR ON AND I CAN'T RECIEVE CALLS THROUGH SYNC ANYMORE. THIS ALL HAPPENED REGARDLESS IF MY CAR WAS IN MOTION OR IDLING
WHILE DRIVING DOWN A BUSY ROAD(M53) IN MICHIGAN, THE CAR LOST POWER, GOT A MESSAGE ON THE DASH SAYING TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING, PULL OVER WAIT 5 MINUTES. ONCE IT HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES, I HAD TAKEN IT TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER. AFTER $1200 REPAIR, I INVESTIGATED AND FOUND OUT ABOUT ALL OF THE ISSUES WITH THIS TRANSMISSION. WHY WOULD FORD NOT HAVE DONE A BETTER JOB AT REDESIGNING THESE OR FIXING THEM WITH MILLIONS OF THEM ON THE ROAD? WE HAD JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE 2 DAYS PRIOR, UNSURE IF WAS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY VEHICLE STARTED LAGGING AND THE RPM WAS GOING UP TO 60. STOP AT RED LIGHT THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WHEEL CAUGHT A FIRE. BRAKE CALIBER LOCKED
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO TURN. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO A MEDIAN. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME AS THE POWER STEERING AND OIL WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
THE CAR TENDS TO SHUDDER AS IT ACCELERATES, SOMETIMES MORE, SOMETIMES LESS. THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO FOR THE CAR WHICH MIGHT BE RELATED TO THIS (NHTSA RECALL NUMBER 18V735), BUT THERE IS STILL NO AVAILABLE REMEDY FOR THE PROBLEM, WHICH SEEMS LIKE A PROBLEM IN ITSELF.
I'M AT THE TAIL END OF A BUYBACK FOR MULTIPLE RECALL ISSUES THAT SEEM TO BE UNFIXABLE. THEY HAD ALSO REPLACED A WEEK ENGINE MOUNT THAT IS FAILING NOW THEY HAD TO REPLACE A SAFETY RECALL FOR GAS FUEL. ALL OF WHICH IN THE PAST DOWNTOWN FORD IN SACRAMENTO DID FOR FREE AND NOW THEY ARE TRYING TO CHARGE ME $1300 TO FIX THE RECALLS AND REPAIRS THAT THEY HAD DONE WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE. SINCE IT WAS ORDERED TO THEM BY YOU GUYS. AND NOW THEY ARE SAYING AT FUTURE FORD OF SACRAMENTO OFF OF MADISON AVENUE THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX IT FOR FREE AND THAT THEY ARE GOING TO TRY AND TAKE IT OUT OF MY SETTLEMENT WHEN THEYARE SCAM ARTISTS AND ARE CHARGING ME WAY MORE THAN ANY PART NEEDS TO BE. AND I'M ALSO BEING LIED TO BY FORD WRAP WHO TOLD ME THEY WERE GOING TO PAY FOR THE PARTS AND THEY WERE ALSO GOING TO PUT ME IN A RENTAL. ALL OF WHICH WAS A LIE. I HAVE LOST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN WAGES I'VE HAD A TON OF PAIN AND SUFFERING FROM HAVING TO BE LIED TO OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND THINKING I AM BEING HELPED WHEN IN FACT ALL THEY'RE DOING IS TRYING TO TAKE MY MONEY AND PUT ME IN A UNSAFE CAR THAT COULD'VE KILLED ME OR MY LOVED ONES MULTIPLE TIMES BECAUSE OF THEIR NEGLIGENCE AND THEY ARE NOT BEING HELD LIABLE
WE BOUGHT OUR 2013 FORD FOCUS ST IN FEBURARY 2017. STARTING IN 2018 SOMETIMES IT WOULDN'T D GO IN REVERSE. IT ALSO STARTED HESITATING WHILE WE ARE DRIVING OR PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC. NOW IN 2019 IT WILL COMPLETELY LOSE POWER GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR JUST THE STREET AND LEAVE US STRANDED. WE HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND HAVE HAD OTHER RECALLS ADDRESSED. I HAVE SEEN A RECALL FOR THE WIRING HARNESS BUT IT DOESN'T SHOW UP WITH OUR VIN NUMBER. IT WAS MANUFACTURED JAN 1ST 2013. THIS CAR IS VERY UNRELIABLE. YOU NEVER KNOW IF WILL TURN ON AND IF IT DOES IT MAY MAKE IT A MINOR OR 10+ MILES.
WHEN ACCELERATING THE CAR MAKES A LOUD NOISE WHEN TRYING TO SHIFT AND HESITATES WHEN GIVING IT GAS. CAR WAS PURCHASED IN JAN 2019 AND HAD BEEN DOING THIS SINCE WE OWNED THE CAR.
I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN THE MAIL , NOTICE# 16S30/NHTSA RECALL 16V-643 MAY, 2017 AND IN DOING SO I NOTIFIED THE VICKSBURG FORD DEALERSHIP HERE AND SCHEDULED A APPOINTMENT TO HAVE MY VEHICLE CHECKED, AND THE PART MADE IT HERE TUESDAY 5/30/17) AND IT WAS REPAIRED I WAS TOLD. NOW YESTERDAY AS I TRIED TO CLOSE MY DOOR IT WOULD NOT LATCH SO I TOOK IT BACK TO THE FORD CO TO HAVE IT CHECKED AGAIN TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NO RECALL EXISTS. OF COURSE NOT IT WAS IN 2017 THAT I CAME OUT AND IT WAS SUPPOSE TO HAVE BEEN REPAIRED, BUT THE PROBLEM IS IT HAS HAPPENED NOW. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR OUT THERE AT THE TIME I WAS ONLY FOLLOWING WHAT I WAS INSTRUCTED TO DO, NOW THE WANT ME TO PAY FOR IT BECAUSE THE SERVICEMAN TOLD ME , HE DID NOT THINK FORD WOULD PAY FOR IT BECAUSE IT IS NOT ON NOTICE AT THIS TIME. THEY WANT ME TO PAY $197.50 PLUS TAX AND $110.00 LABOR CHARGE. I DONOT FEEL THAT THIS IS RIGHT, BECAUSE THEY WAS PAID FOR DOING THE JOB IN MAY, 2017 EVENTHOUGH AT THE TIME I WAS NOT EXPERIENCING THE PROBLEM AT THE TIME, AND IT IS HAPENING NOW THEY NEED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I CANNOT RIDE AROUND WITH A DOOR THE IS NOT SHUT PROPERLY. NOW I AM STILL TRYING TO FIND MY RECEIPT FOR THE REPAIR, AND THEY DO HAVE A RECORD OF IT BECAUSE THE SECRETARY TOOK A FORLDER WITH THE SERVICE TICKET BACK IN THE BACK TO THE SERVICEMAN BUT HE ACTED LIKE THAT WAS NOT THE RECALL TICKET. I AM GOING TO CONTINUE TO LOOK FOR MY RECEIPT BUT IN THE MEANTIME I NEED TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED. I DONOT FEEL THAT THEY NEEDS TO BE PAID TWICE WHEN THE PROBLEM IS OBVIOUS TODAY. IT WAS A SAFETY RECALL ISSUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FEDERAL LAW AND I AM ENTITLED TO THAT SAFEY RECALL ACT. LUCKILY I HAD JUST MADE IT TO MY HOUSE AND PARKED WHEN I NOTICED THAT THE DOOR WOULD NOT SHUT, I HAVE ONLY THE ONE VEHICLE AND IT IS DRIVEN EVERYDAY TO WORK, ERRANDS. NOT GOOD. THX YOU. .

THE CONTACT CALLED BRANDON FORD AT 813-246-3673 (LOCATED AT 9090 E ADAMO DR, TAMPA, FL 33619) AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
POWER STOPPED OPERATING WHILE DRIVING. IT HAD SUDDENLY BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THIS IS DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY FOR A SMALLER PERSON, THE STEERING WHEEL IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN.
SINCE IVE PURCHASED MY FORD FOCUS BACK IN 2013 I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR BACK TO FORD DEALERSHIP ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS IN RELATION TO THE FAULTY TRANSMISSION AND ELECTRICAL ISSUES. ON MY 5TH ATTEMPT MY TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. THIS WAS AROUND THE END OF 2017 TO 2018. ON MAY 2ND 2019 I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND AS SOON AS I TURNED ON THE CAR THE WINDSHEILD WIPERS STARTED TO GO OFF AND FOR SOME REASON I COULD NOT TURN THEM OFF. ONCE I ARRIVED ONTO MY WORK CAMPUS I TURNED THE CORNEE TO PARK MY CAR... WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR FLASHED AN ERROR MESSAGE ON MY DASH STATING THE FOLLOWING, " TRANSMISSION FAILURE REPAIR NOW". I CALMLY PARKED THE CAR AND WITHIN SECONDS OF TURNING OFF THE CAR I SEE SMOKE AND THEN FLAMES FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY ENGINE HOOD. I QUICKLY EXITED THE CAR ABD THE FLAMES GOT BIGGER AND BIGGER. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND THE HAD TO SMASH THE BACK WINDOW DUE TO THE FLAMES THAT HAD OVER TAKEN THE FRONT OF THE CAR. UNFORTUNETLY MY CAR IS NOT A TOTAL LOSS. I WAS AT THE END OF MY CONTRACT AGREEMENT WITH FORD AND INLY HAVING TO PAY 6400 LEFT ON MY LOAN. IVE CALLED THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE TO COMPLAIN AND SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE AND WAS TOLD I WOULD GET A LETTER IN 2 WEEKS BY THEIR LEGAL COUNCIL. THIS HAS CAUSED ME TO DELAY MY ENTRY INTO NURSING SCHOOL SINCE NOW I HAVE TO WORK TO HANDLE THE CAR THE NEW CAR I JUST HAD TO BUY. I NEED TRANSPORTATION FOR WORK AND FORD TOOK THAT FROM ME. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY WHEN I THE CAR SHIFTED GEARS. I CONTINUED TO DRIVE IT NOT THINKING ANYTHING OF IT. ONCE I CAME TO A POINT WHEN I HAD TO REVERSE, I REALIZED THAT'S MY CAR DID NOT WANT TO MOVE BACK WARDS EVEN WHEN I USED THE GAS.

TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING LIGHT COMES ON, SAYING STOP SSAFELY, WAIT 5 MINUTES, JERKING FROM STOP, SHIFTING LIKE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION, WITH A PERSON WHO DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO USE THE CLUTCH.. FRONT END NOISE, VERY LOUD.TOOK TO DEALER, WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT.
FUEL PUMP WENT OUT AND HAD TO BE REPLACED IN APRIL 2019. RECENTLY RECEIVED A LETTER OF FUEL PUMP RECALL ON MY 2014 FORD FOCUS VIN [XXX]. MY 2013 FORD FOCUS DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL BUT IS HAS THE SAME ENGINE, BUILT AT THE SAME PLANT, AND BUILT WITHIN THE SAME YEAR. TRANSMISSION FAILS TO ENGAGE, SKIPS GEARS, ACCELERATOR DOES NOT MOVE CAR INITIALLY BUT WILL REV HIGH THEN ENGAGE. MULTIPLE REPAIR ATTEMPTS HAVE FAILED TO CORRECT THE SITUATION FROM REPLACED CLUTCH PLATES TO TCM REPLACEMENTS TO REPROGRAMS OF THE MODULE.
SINCE I DROVE THE VEHICLE OFF THE LOT, TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS, JERKS, VIBRATES, ROUGH UP/DOWNSHIFTS, SLIPS INTO NEUTRAL, WONT SHIFT INTO REVERSE, TRANSMISSION FAULT WARNINGS, TRANSMISSION OVERHEAT WARNINGS. THE CAR DOES NOT RELIABLY ACCELERATE/DECELERATE UNDER NORMAL OPERATING CONDITIONS. ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS HAD TO PUSH THE CAR OUT OF A PARKING SPOT BY HAND SINCE REVERSE WOULD NOT ENGAGE. HAD TO PUSH OFF THE ROAD SEVERAL TIMES AFTER VIOLENT SHIFTS/SHUDDERING AND WARNING LIGHTS. HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. INITIALLY DEALERSHIP SAID OVER THE PHONE THE NEW TECHNOLOGY HADN'T ADAPTED TO MY DRIVING STYLE YET AND IT WOULD CLEAR UP. EVENTUALLY I TOOK IT IN FOR REPAIR AFTER REPAIR AND HAVE SINCE TAKEN THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD. THE LAST EPISODE HAPPENED WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR AND IT'S NO LONGER SAFE TO TRANSPORT PASSENGERS IN.
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC FROM A STOP, THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER. PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR WAS JUST CAUSING THE ENGINE TO REV. THEN THE CAR SHIFTED INTO GEAR AND SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD. IT THEN DROPPED OUT OF GEAR AND LOST POWER AGAIN. CAR CONTINUED TO SHIFT RANDOMLY, DROP OUT OF GEAR, AND SUDDENLY SHIFT INTO GEAR AND ACCELERATE CREATING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. IT WOULD NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY AFTER THAT UNTIL I TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP AND THEY UPDATED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE. SERVICE ADVISOR AT THE DEALERSHIP SAID THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM AND WOULD LIKELY HAPPEN AGAIN.

THE POWER STEERING HAS COMPLETELY FAILED. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN THE CAR, ESPECIALLY AT LOW SPEEDS.
MY STEREO HAS DECIDED TO TERRORIZE ME WITH LOUD POPPING, CRACKLING, AND WHITE NOISE. IN THE BEGINNING MY STEREO WOULD MAKE A LOUD POP AND THEN NOT EMIT ANY SOUND. THE DISPLAY WOULD WORK, AND I COULD CHANGE THE STATIONS, INPUTS, AND VOLUME, BUT NO NOISE WOULD COME OUT OF THE SPEAKERS. I WOULD SIMPLY TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND THE PROBLEM WOULD BE RESOLVED. SINCE, THIS GREMLIN HAS TRANSFORMED INTO A CREATURE OFF A "PREDATOR" MOVIE. NOW WHEN I START MY CAR, THE MUSIC MAY PLAY FOR A COUPLE SECONDS AND THEN THE LOUD POPPING TAKES OVER. WHETHER THE VOLUME IS ON "1" OR "10" THE NOISE IS JUST AS LOUD AND STARTLING. I WOULD SIMPLY TURN OFF THE POWER TO THE STEREO, BUT THIS DID NOT SEEM TO ALLEVIATE ANYTHING. ALTHOUGH NOT AS CONSISTENT, THE NOISE SEEMS TO INTERMITTENTLY COME EVEN IF THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND THE KEY NOT IN THE IGNITION. AS STATED, THIS NOISE IS VERY LOUD AND STARTLING. IT STARTLED ME ENOUGH THAT I ACCIDENTALLY JERKED THE WHEEL OUT OF REFLEX WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY YESTERDAY. MUSIC IS A LUXURY, BUT HAVING THE CRAP SCARED OUT OF YOU BY YOUR OWN CAR WHILE DRIVING IS A GIANT SAFETY ISSUE!!
SHUDDERING CLUTCH WHILE ACCELERATING IN ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS. ROYAL OAK FORD HAS SERVICED THE CAR FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE 3 TIMES SINCE PURCHASE AND THE CLUTCH HAS BEEN REPLACED BUT THE ISSUE RETURNS. THE LAST SERVICE APPOINTMENT COST US $116 FOR ROYAL OAK FORD TO TELL US ITS THE SAME ISSUE AND THEY WEREN'T GOING TO COVER IT. IT WOULD COST US $1700.00 TO FIX WITH NO GUARANTEE THAT IT WOULD ACTUALLY RESOLVE THE ISSUE. WE CONTACTED FORD HEADQUARTERS AND THEIR RESPONSE WAS 'TO BAD YOUR CAR WAS BUILT AFTER 6-05-13 SO WE AREN'T RESPONSIBLE FOR REPAIR'. OUR CAR WAS BUILT ON 6-19-13 WITH THE SAME FAULTY TRANSMISSION AS THE CARS BUILT RE 6-5-13. AFTER READING THE FREE PRESS ARTICLE AND CONTACTING ROYAL OAK FORD AGAIN REGARDING THE ISSUE THEY ARE GOING TO 'LOOK' AT THE CAR AGAIN ON 8-6-19. ROYAL OAK FORD COULDN'T SAY IF IT WOULD BE COVERED BUT I WILL BE LETTING THEM KNOW I HAVE FILED THIS COMPLAINT. I CAN PROVIDE REPAIR DOCUMENTS AND THE LETTER FROM FORD HEADQUARTERS IF YOU NEED THEM. ONLY OWNED THIS CAR FOR 1 WEEK. MILEAGE IN THE 70K RANGE. ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS PULLING OUT ON A TURN. CAR WILL JERK SIDEWAYS AND HESITATE, LEAVING YOU OPEN TO BEING STRUCK BY ANOTHER VEHICLE.

THE DRIVER WAS DRIVING AT 35 MPH AND DECREASING TO 15 MPH IN ORDER TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH NO WARNING, AS A RESULT THE VEHICLE CRASHED A TREE. THE AIRBAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). BOTH THE DRIVER AND THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER WERE TRANSPORTED BY AMBULANCE FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED NECK, BACK, AND SHOULDER INJURIES AS WELL AS A FRACTURED KNEE. THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER REQUIRED THREE SURGERIES DUE TO THE INJURIES SUSTAINED FROM THE CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED WITH CASE NUMBER: 0046196919U. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUT A FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED AS THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE RADIO/SPEAKERS WILL SUDDENLY MAKE A LOUD POPPING SOUND/CRACKLING SOUND OUT OF NOWHERE. THE POPPING/CRACKLING IS OFTEN LOUD ENOUGH TO WHERE IT STARTLES THE DRIVER, WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. I OWNED THE CAR 3 DAYS AND THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON. CLAIMED THE TRANSMISSION MODULE WAS REPLACED. TWO HOURS AFTER GETTING THE CAR BACK IT WOULD NOT START, ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. SEE PHOTO IT WOULD APPEAR THE OBD2 WIRES HAVE BEEN TAMPERED WITH IN AN EFFORT TO DISABLE THE LIGHT CONTINUING TO COME ON. (PICTURE ATTACHED) THE CAR IS BACK IN THE SHOP. IT HAS BEEN 2 WEEKS SINCE PURCHASE I HAVE HAD THE CAR IN MY POSSESSION FOR A TOTAL OF 3 DAYS. THE USED CAR PLACE WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED WILL NOT TAKE THE CAR BACK. THERE IS A 90 DAY WARRANTY THAT WILL RUN OUT. THE CAR IS OVER THE 100K MILE WARRANTY FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX.
