CLUTCH IN TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED 3 TIMES BY FORD DEALERSHIPS UNDER THE 36K MILE WARRANTY. CAR STILL HAS THE SAME SHUTTERING AND JERKING TRANSMISSION WHILE ACCELERATING PROBLEM IT ORIGINALLY HAD.
DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH, CANNOT SHUT DOOR, HAD TO HOLD IT DRIVING TO THE DEALERSHIP. HUGE LIABILITY EXPOSURE. I UNDERSTAND THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS SAFETY RECALLS, BUT WAS TOLD BY SERVICE THIS VEHICLE NOT ONE OF THEM? EXCUSE ME, THIS IS ABSOLUTELY A SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL VEHICLES OVER THE YEARS, AND NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM. VEHICLE WAS BOUGHT CERTIFIED USED, WE PURCHASED BEST WARRANTY, BUT THIS AND A FEW OTHER ITEMS NOT COVER. I AM APPALLED THAT SOMETHING I CONSIDER A SAFETY ISSUE WOULD NOT BE COVERED. I WORK IN THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY AS AN ADJUSTER. THEY WANT TO CHARGE US $482.00 . . .
SINCE THE FIRST WEEK OF PURCHASE THE CAR HAS HAD TRANS FAILURE. IT HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF THE SHOP AT LEAST 4-5 TIMES FOR REPAIRS WITH NO AVAIL.. THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS, MAKES LOUD GRINDING NOISES, STALLS, LOSES POWER THEN VIOLENTLY JERKS WHEN ACCELERATING. BECAUSE OF THIS MANY TIMES I HAVE NARROWLY MISSED HITTING OTHER CARS CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I DRIVE EVERYDAY WITH FEAR AND ANXIETY, THIS CAR IS DOWNRIGHT DANGEROUS. TO TOP THINGS OFF, SUDDENLY, MY REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL NOT STAY SHUT,. IT APPEARS THAT THE LATCH IS BROKEN EVEN THOUGH I RARELY IF AT ALL OPEN OR CLOSE THIS DOOR. THERE ARE SO MANY ISSUES WITH THIS CAR. FORD SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR THIS ATROCITY THEY BROUGHT UPON THEIR CUSTOMERS.
THE TRANSMISSON STUDERS, GRIND, LAGS, AND IS UNSAFE. THE CAR HAS DONE THE SENCE IVE HAD IT AND ITS BEEN TO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD TO DRIVE IT AND IT WILL GET BETTER WITH TIME AND GUESS WHAT IT GETS WORST. HEADING TO THE DEALER TO LET THEM LOOK AT THE FORD FOCUS AGAIN WEDNESDAY. I ALREADY KNOW WHAT IM GOING TO BE TOLD ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION BUT I CANT HELP BUT THING HOW CAN FORD GET AWAY WITH SELLING A AUTOMOBILE TO THE PUBLIC THAT HAS ALL OF THE ISSUES THAT ARE UNSAFE AND CAN GET PEOPLE THAT ARE OR WHERE FORD LOVERS HURT OR EVEN WORST KILLED. FORD SHOULD ATLEAST DO A BUY BACK FOR A POOR PRODUCT LIKE SOME OF THERE COMPETITORS HAVE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW BATTERY CABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR THE CAR WILL SHUDDER LIKE IT WANTS TO STALL. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN THE MOST WHEN THERE IS ANY KIND OF EXTRA WEIGHT IN THE CAR, WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, AND WHEN GOING UPHILL. IT WILL BE FINE FOR A WHILE THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WILL DO THIS EVERY TIME I TRY TO ACCELERATE. THE CAR ONLY HAS 52,000 MILES ON IT AND DEFINITELY SHOULDN'T HAVE THIS KIND OF A PROBLEM
I SHUT THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AND TOOK OFF DRIVING ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE DOOR AJAR CAME ON AND THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR FLEW OPEN , I CAUGHT THE DOOR , BUT IT WILL NO LONGER LATCH SHUT .
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. AFTER SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION MODULE WAS FAULTY. THE TRANSMISSION MODULE WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE AND NO FAILURE WAS FOUND. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,500.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH BROKE AND DOOR OPENED UP WHILE DRIVING. I WAS FORCED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WHILE HOLDING MY DOOR SHUT AND CLUTCH SHIFTING IN ORDER TO GET IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE FIRST DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO SERVICE IT UNTIL AUGUST 25TH 2016 (RED MCCOMBS FORD WEST). SO, I WAS FORCED TO DRIVE IT 16 MILES ON THE FREEWAY TO NORTHSIDE FORD IN SAN ANTONIO. BECAUSE IT HAS EXCEEDED THE 36K MILE WARRANTY, THE REPAIR BILL IS QUOTED AT JUST UNDER $700 BECAUSE THE "DOOR LATCH MECHANISM FAILED" AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I'M BLESSED THIS DID NOT HAPPEN WHILE TURNING RIGHT OR HAD IT BEEN THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WITH A CHILD. I'VE READ MANY REPORTS ABOUT FAILED DOOR LATCHES WITH FORD AND NOT SURE WHY THIS ISN'T BEING RECALLED AND WHY FORD ISN'T WILLING TO PUT THE SAFETY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS FIRST. NOT TO MENTION $700 TO REPLACE A FAULTY DOOR LATCH WHICH PUT ME AT RISK FOR A MAJOR INJURY. I HOPE NO ONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED UNTIL A RECALL IS FINALLY HONORED. I FEEL LIKE A GRAVE INJUSTICE HAS OCCURRED WITH FORD'S UNWILLINGNESS TO PUT MYSELF AND OTHERS' SAFETY FIRST. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE SHOP WAITING ON PARTS AND THEM TO BE INSTALLED. I WILL HAVE A STATEMENT ONCE I RETRIEVE MY CAR.
AFTER ENTERING CAR, THE DRIVER FRONT DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH. THERE WAS NO PRIOR INDICATION OF ANY MALFUNCTION WITH THE DOOR LATCH. DRIVER DOOR REQUIRED TO BE BUNGEE CORDED IN ORDER TO DRIVE VEHICLE TO FORD DEALERSHIP. THE DOOR LATCH WAS REPLACED BY FORD AT A COST ON $697.00 TO OWNER.
THIS IS MY SECOND COMPLAINT THAT I'M FILING ON YOUR WEBSITE AS I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING FROM MY FIRST COMPLAINT. I AM CURRENTLY EXPERIENCING A DOOR LATCH PROBLEM WITH MY 2013 FORD FOCUS. PLEASE READ AND REVIEW THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT WHICH DESCRIBES THE PROBLEMS I'VE BEEN HAVING AND WHAT HAS BEEN DONE SO FAR. I TRIED TO PASTE IT HERE, BUT IT'S TOO LONG FOR THIS FORM.
I TOOK MY VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE AT MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERING AND NOT ACCELERATING WHILE DRIVING AND INFORMED MY ADVISOR THE TRANSMISSION IS NOW SLIPPING MORE OFTEN, UNEXPECTEDLY AND MORE SEVERELY AND IS BECOMING A REAL DANGER WHILE ACCELERATION. THIS IS ANOTHER INSTANCE OF SEVERAL THAT I HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION RECALIBRATED OR CLUTCH REPLACED. DURING THIS OCCASION, I WAS TOLD THE PARTS NEEDED TO BE ORDERED AND WOULD BE ANOTHER 6-8 MONTHS BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION CAN BE SERVICED AND FIXED DUE TO HAVING NO PARTS. I DON'T WANT TO PUT MY 6 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER IN DANGER BY DRIVING THE CAR AND SINCE THE CAR. WHEN ASKED FOR A LOANER CAR UNTIL THE PARTS COME IN I WAS TOLD FORD COULD NOT DO THAT AND MY ONLY REMEDY WAS TO WAIT FOR THE PARTS TO COME IN. AFTER ESCALATING THE ISSUE TO FORD LEADERSHIP THROUGH EMAIL, MY TRANSMISSION WAS SERVICED WITHIN THE WEEK. HOWEVER THE TRANSMISSION STILL SHUDDERS AND SLIPS UPON ACCELERATION.
A LIGHT CAME ON WHILE WE WERE DRIVING SAYING THAT MY FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WAS OPEN. SINCE WE WERE COMING TO A STOP, IT THANKFULLY DID NOT FLY OPEN AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT, BUT IT EASILY COULD HAVE. I ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE IT REPEATEDLY AND IT WOULD NOT LATCH. I WAS FORCED TO HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED UNTIL WE COULD PULL OVER. UPON CLOSER INSPECTION, WE REALIZED THAT THE DOOR LATCH WAS ACTUALLY BROKEN AND WOULD HAVE TO BE TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP. DESPITE THERE BEING RECALLS ON SEVERAL FORD VEHICLES FOR THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM, FORD IS REFUSING TO RECALL THE FOCUS (THEY ACTUALLY TOLD ME THAT IT HAD NEVER HAPPENED TO THE 2013 MODEL BEFORE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V813000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND WHILE DRIVING AT 35 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT THE VEHICLE HESITATED BEFORE MOVING FORWARD. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
MY 2013 FORD FOCUS WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. I GOT IN AND CLOSED THE DOOR. I DIDN'T NOTICE ANYTHING WRONG. I STARTED THE CAR AND STARTED TO DRIVE OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY, BUT MY CAR INFORMED ME THAT MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS NOT CLOSED. I PUSHED ON THE DOOR (WITHOUT PULLING THE LATCH) AND THE DOOR OPENED. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO CLOSE THE DOOR, LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE DOORS, BUT THE DOOR WOULD NOT LATCH.
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD 20 MPH WHEN THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR OPENED.GOT OUT TO CLOSE DOOR AND IT WILL NOT CLOSE.LATCH DOES NOT CATCH.HAD TO TIE DOOR CLOSED TO DRIVE BACK HOME 3 MILES.I FOUND ON THIS SITE THAT FORD FUSION, LINCOLN MKZ AND FORD FIESTA HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEMS AND HAVE BEEN RECALLED FOR REPAIR.HAPPENED ON A SATURDAY AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH FORD DEALER FOR MONDAY.
DRIVERS DOOR WILL NOT LATCH
MY DRIVERS SIDE DOOR CAME OPEN WHILE I WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN WHILE DRIVING. IT DOES NOT LATCH [XXX] AND I HAD TO USE A BELT TO KEEP IT FROM OPENING SO I COULD GET HOME. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR
THE POWERSHIFT TRANSMISSION IS JUNK. THIS CAR HAS LEFT MY DAUGHTER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD SEVERAL TIMES. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST FORD FOR THIS PROBLEM. UNFORTUNATELY IT PROTECTS THE FIRST OWNER MORE THAN THE USED CAR OWNER. THE CARE WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR AT ALL OR ONLY IN FIRST. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON FOR OVERHEATING. SINCE WE HAVE HAD THE CAR IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 3 TIMES AND WE HAVE HAD THE CLUTCH REPLACED AND THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN, WHICH WE DIDN'T KNOW UNTIL WE BOUGHT THE CAR AND IT STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS.

DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR OPENED WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET AND COULD NOT CLOSE THE DOOR AS WELL AS DOOR AJAR SIGNAL BEEPING. I HAD TO HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED WITH ONE ARM AND DRIVE WITH THE OTHER, VERY UNSAFE AND SCARY. I NORMALLY DRIVE A HIGHWAY TO AND FROM WORK, BUT I HAPPENED TO BE IN MY TOWN WHEN IT OCCURRED AND STILL DRIVING 35-45 KEPT OPENING MY DOOR AND OBVIOUSLY ANY LEFT TURN, WHICH I MADE 3 OF, CAUSED THE DOOR TO OPEN.
ON OCTOBER 6, 2012 I PURCHASED THIS NEW AUTOMOBILE. FEBRUARY 27, 2013, THE AUTO WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER. THERE SEEMED TO BE A SHUDDERING/DRAGGING WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS APPLIED FROM A COMPLETE STOP. AN INSPECTION WAS DONE AND NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND (IT WAS HAPPENING SPORADICALLY). AFTER TAKING IT IN A FEW MORE TIMES THEY STILL COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. AUGUST 4, 2014 I TOOK CAR A DEALER 110 MILES AWAY. AFTER DESCRIBING WHAT WAS HAPPENING, THE MECHANIC TOLD ME IT WAS PROBABLY THE CLUTCH WAS NOT ENGAGING. THEY REPAIRED IT AND IT SEEMED TO BE DRIVING MUCH BETTER. BY MID 2015, THE CAR STARTED SHUDDERING AGAIN, SO ON NOVEMBER 11, 2015, SINCE I KNEW WHAT WAS THE PROBABLE PROBLEM WAS I TOOK THE CAR TO A LOCAL DEALER AND TOLD THEM WHAT THE OTHER DEALER HAD DONE. THEY VERIFIED THE PROBLEM AND HAD THE CAR FOR SEVERAL DAYS WHILE PARTS WERE ORDERED AND A NEW CLUTCH WAS INSTALLED. THEY TOLD ME THE CAR WAS LEAKING OIL AND THEY WOULD ORDER THE NECESSARY PARTS (NEW CLUTCH). THE CAR WAS BROUGHT IN AGAIN ON 12/8/15 AND LEFT SEVERAL DAYS. THEY AGAIN ORDERED PARTS AND REPLACED DEFECTIVE ONES WITH OTHER PARTS. ON 1/18/16 THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER BECAUSE ALL THE OIL HAD LEAKED OUT OF THE CAR. THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE AND THERE WAS A COMPUTER MESSAGE STATING THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. AGAIN THE CAR WAS AT THE DEALER FOR SEVERAL DAYS WHILE PARTS WERE ORDERED AND INSTALLED. ON 2/16/16 THE CAR AGAIN WAS BROUGHT INTO THE DEALER. THIS TIME EXTENSIVE WORK WAS DONE ON THE CAR. THREE ENGINES WERE ORDERED AND ANOTHER CLUTCH WAS INSTALLED. I RECEIVED MY CAR BACK THE WEEK OF APRIL 5 (6 WEEKS LATER). ON 7/11/16, THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALER (50+ MILES AWAY) BECAUSE THE COMPUTER MESSAGE READ TRANSMISSION HOT STOP CAR IMMEDIATELY. AGAIN ANOTHER CLUTCH WAS PUT IN WITH OTHER PARTS DUE TO THE CLUTCH BREAKING. MY CAR WAS AT THE DEALER FOR ANOTHER 6 DAYS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS MERGING INTO TRAFFIC, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE FOR APPROXIMATELY TEN SECONDS. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AND THE TRANSMISSION AND POWER CONTROL MODULE WERE REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING REALLY BAD AND GETS UP TO 3,000-4,000 RPMS THEN JERKS REALLY HARD.
DOOR WILL NOT LATCH. WHEN WE TRY TO CLOSE IT, IT BOUNCES BACK OPEN.
IN FEBRUARY 2016 CLUTCH TCM AND SEALS WERE REPLACED IN MAY 2016 VEHICLE STARTED TO ACT UP AGAIN WHILE MERGING ONTO HIGHWAY VEHICLE RPM WOULD GO TO 6K CAR WOULD NOT MOVE CAR INTERMITTENTLY STALLS WHILE IN REVERSE BACKING THIS CAR WILL END GETTING SOMEONE HURT OR KILLED ON 7/5/16 TRANS OVERHEAT MESSAGE POPPED UP TOOK TO DEALER MCCARTHY FORD CHICAGO THEY SAID IT WAS SAFE TO DRIVE.
I WAS TAKING A TURN IN MY FORD FOCUS ABOUT 35 MPH IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA AND THE DOOR FLEW OPEN. I PULLED OVER TO MAKE SURE THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE DOOR TO PREVENT IT FORM STAYING CLOSED, I FOUND NOTHING. I STARTED TO DRIVE AGAIN AND HAD TO DRIVE HOLDING MY PASSENGER DOOR CLOSED. I BROUGHT IT IMMEDIATELY TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS CHARGED REPAIR FOR THE DOOR LATCH THROUGH MY EXTENDED WARRANTY.
REAR DRIVER'S SIDE FLEW OPEN WHILE DRIVING. HAVE TO TIE IT DOWN TO STAY CLOSED. TWO DAYS LATER, THE REAR SIDE PASSENGER DOOR CAME OPEN AND WILL NOT CLOSE. HAVE TO TIE THIS DOOR TO STAY CLOSED AS WELL. THE INDICATOR LIGHT KEEPS GOING OFF, STATING THE DOORS ARE OPEN.
THIS PAST MONDAY, JULY 4TH, I ARRIVED HOME FROM HOUSE SITTING AND UNLOADED THE BACK SEAT OF MY CAR. I CLOSED THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR, LOCKED THE CAR AND TURNED THE ALARM ON. I WENT OUT TO MY CAR 1/2 HOUR LATER TO RUN AN ERRAND AND I BACKED OUT OF MY PARKING SPACE, PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AND STARTED TO DRIVE. A MESSAGE CAME ACROSS MY DASHBOARD THAT SAID "PASSENGER SIDE DOOR IS AJAR". I STOPPED THE CAR AND GOT OUT TO LOOK AT THE DOOR AND CLOSE IT AND IT WOULDN'T CLOSE. I TRIED MANY TIMES TO CLOSE THE DOOR AND IT WOULD JUST OPEN BACK UP AGAIN. THE DOOR ISN'T LATCHING AND CLOSING ALL THE WAY. I TRIED LOCKING AND UNLOCKING THE DOORS MANY TIMES AND IT STILL WILL NOT CLOSE COMPLETELY AND LATCH AND LOCK. I RESEARCHED ONLINE FOR ANY INFORMATION AND FOUND THAT SOME FORD FOCUS' FROM 2013 HAVE A RECALL AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP HOPING TO GET IT FIXED. THEY TOLD ME THAT MY CAR IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND IT WILL COST ME ALMOST $600 TO FIX IT. THE DOOR IS CURRENTLY BEING HELD CLOSED WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE SEATBELT, BUT WILL STILL OPEN A FEW INCHES WHILE TURNING CORNERS BECAUSE THE SEATBELT IS NOT COMPLETELY SECURE. I THINK THIS PROBLEM SHOULD BE PART OF THE RECALL AND BE CORRECTED AND FIXED BY FORD.
BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND THE POWER STEERING FAILED. WHEEL COULD NOT BE TURNED AT ALL. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO A DEALER SINCE AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP COULD NOT REPAIR. TOTAL COST OF THE REPAIR WAS $1793.43. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 49K MILES AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE.

I RETURNED HOME FROM WORK AND PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. I EXITED THE VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE THE DRIVERS DOOR. IT WOULD NOT STAY SHUT, I EXAMINED THE DOOR TO LOOK FOR AN OBSTRUCTION AND FOUND NONE. THE DOOR LATCH WOULD NOT ENGAGE TO KEEP THE DOOR SHUT. I TIED A ROPE BETWEEN THE TWO FRONT DOOR HANDLES SO I COULD DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO CHECK ON GETTING IT REPAIRED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE SERVICE WRITER TOLD ME THAT HE'S SEEN PLENTY OF THESE INSTANCES OF THE DOOR LATCH BREAKING AND NOT STAYING CLOSED AND THAT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST AROUND $500 TO FIX. I ASKED IF THEY HAVE UPGRADED OR REDESIGNED THE PART BECAUSE OF ALL OF THE ISSUES HE SAID PEOPLE ARE HAVING WITH THE DOOR LATCHES AND HE TOLD ME THAT THE PART NUMBER HAS NOT CHANGED SO IT IS PROBABLY THE SAME.
WHEN THE CAR SHIFTS TO FIRST GEAR THE CAR SHUDDERS, SHAKES AND JERKS AFTER CAR MOVES FROM A STATIONARY POSITION. IT HAS STOPPED WHILE PARKED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON ALL THE TIME. HAVE TAKEN TO LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO BE FIXED. SAME DAY HAD TO RETURN CAR BECAUSE IT STOPPED AGAIN. SENSOR DEALING WITH TRANSMISSION WAS CHECKED AND REPLACED. STILL SAME ISSUES KEEP HAPPENING.

FINALLY A WARNING APPEARED THAT SAID STEERING ASSIST FAILURE. IT WAS THEN I REALIZED CAR WAS TWITCHING IN / OUT OF MANUAL STEERING AND WOULD JERK STEERING WHEEL FROM MY HANDS IF I DIDN'T KEEP A DEATH GRIP ON THE WHEEL. THIS 2013 FOCUS HAS HAD CLUTCH PACK REPLACEMENT, TCM FAILURE AND HORN INTERMIT WORKING. IF YOU DON'T HOLD WHEEL TIGHT I COULD SEE A CRASH WOULD BE LIKELY. THIS CAR SCARES ME BUT CAN'T AFFORD A NEW CAR, HECK THIS IS A NEW CAR WITH 65,000 MILES ON IT. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE DEALER BILL FOR THIS. UGH

DROVE OUT OF STATE FOR A WEDDING, PARKED CAR AT A REST STOP TO USE THE BATHROOM CAME BACK OUT STARTED THE CAR TO FIND A WARNING LIGHT "STEERING ASSIST FAULT" AMBER COLORED [I] APPEARED ON THE DASH AND UNABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. MY HUSBAND TOOK THE DRIVERS SEAT TO DRIVE TO THE NEXT EXIT WHERE OUR HOTEL IS TO MANUALLY FIGHT TO TURN THE WHEEL. HAD TO BE TOWED HOME ALMOST 100 MILES, FORD SHOULD OWN UP TO THIS SEVER SAFETY ISSUE AND RECALL THIS VEHICLE PROBLEM. NOTHING CLEARED THIS CODE OR FIXED THE DIFFICULT STEERING.

SOFTWARE UPDATE 15B22: CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 14M02, TCM REPLACED, TCM-PCM REPROGRAM JUNE 2016, UNACCEPTABLE FROM FORD CORPORATION. I ASKED SERVICE DEPARTMENT IF TCM HAD REVISIONS TO TO CORRECT PROBLEM, THEY DID NOT KNOW. SO IF REPLACING WITH SAME DEFECTIVE TCM THIS WILL BE AN ONGOING PROBLEM. WAS RECOMMENDED TO SELL/TRADE CAR BEFORE 150.000 MILE DEADLINE ON WARRANTY. I HAVE TRIED TO TRADE IN BUT NO DEALER WANTS BECAUSE OF KNOWN TCM ONGOING PROBLEM. I PURCHASED THIS CAR SEPTMEBER OF 2015 WITH 39,000 MILES, JUST ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO THIS CAR HAS BEEN ACTING CRAZY AND IT'S DANGEROUS. WHEN I SEEMED TO TURN IT ON AND PUT IT IN REVERSE IT DOES NOT WANT TO GO JUST STAY STUCK. SO THEN I TURN IT OFF TO RESTART EVERYTHING AND IT DOES NOT WANT TO TURN ON. OR SOMETIMES IT'LL GO REVERSE BUT THEN I SHIFT IT TO DRIVE AND IT STAYS STUCK ON DRIVE. OR SOMETIMES AS I'M DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY THE GEARS START TO SLOW DOWN ON ME. THIS IS SUCH A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND I KNOW IT'S A RECALL ON MY CAR SO I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT JULY 6TH TO GET IT CHECKED I HOPE THEY CAN GET IT FIXED.
