AFTER DRIVING FOR 2 HOURS AT HIGHWAY SPEED, 90+ DEGREES AMBIENT, I STOPPED THE CAR TO DISCHARGE A PASSENGER. WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR, THE POWER ASSIST HAD FAILED. I WAS ABLE TO PARK THE CAR WITH CONSIDERABLE MANUAL EFFORT. 2 HOURS LATER I STARTED THE CAR AND THE POWER ASSIST STEERING WORKED NORMALLY. AFTER ABOUT A MONTH THERE HAVE BEEN NO RECURRENCES. WHEN I REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO MY DEALER THE SERVICE REP WANTED TO CHARGE ME $100 TO READ THE DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER.
IT ONLY HAS 40,000 MILES ON IT BUT I GOT A "TRANSMISSION FAULT. SERVICE NOW" WARNING LIGHT AND THE CAR JERKED VIOLENTLY. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED (80 MPH) ON A HIGH WAY - I LIVE IN TEXAS WHERE 80 MPH IS LEGAL. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT RISK AND CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS AS A CAR BEHIND ME COULD HAVE EASILY RAN INTO ME AS I LOST SPEED WHEN TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. PLEASE HAVE FORD RECALL THESE DANGEROUS VEHICLES IN ORDER TO PREVENT ACCIDENTS FROM HAPPENING.
I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY ROAD WHEN THE CAR STALLED WHILE I WAS IN MOTION. I PULLED OVER SAFELY AND IT WOULD NOT START BACK UP.
TAKATA INFLATORS. THIS CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, WHEN YOU GET TO A RED LIGHT, THE CAR JERKED YOU ,WHEN YOU PLACE YOUR FEET ON THE BRAKES. THEN WHEN YOU PRESS THE ACCELERATOR TO GO IT JERK BACK AND PULLED YOU FORWARD. CHANGING GEERS WOULD HARD TO SHIFT AND SOMETIMES STICK. THE ENGINE LIGHT WOULD COME ON, THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO FORD DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES AND TESTED, THEY NEVER FIXED THE PROBLEM. I ALMOST CRASED AT THE STOP SIGN TRYING TO STOP, THE BRAKES GOT STUCK. I HAD THE CAR FOR ONE MONTH, AND FILLED A LEMMON LAW COMPLAINT ON LINE, AND THEY INSISTED I HAD TO WAIT A PERIOD OF TIME, BECAUSE I JUST PURCHASED THE CAR. AFTER THE 3RD, TIME VISTING THE FORD REPAIR SHOP, IN ONE MONTH TIME, I WAS DISAPPOINTED AND WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM AT A KIA DEALERSHIP, THEY WOULD NOT GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK , ONLY OFFERED TO TRADE THE FORD FOCUS IN BACK TO THEM AND BUY A KIA CAR FROM THEM, I LOSS MY DOWN PAYMENT, AND GOT STUCK WITH A ROLL OVER FEE OF 4,500 FROM THE REMAINING BALANCE OF THE FORD FUSION ADDED ON TO THE NEW KIA. AND A HIGHER CAR PAYMENT. THEY SOLD E A LEMON, AND HAD A WARRANTY AND STILL REFUSE TO FIX THE CAR. THE TRANSMISSION WAS BAD AND THEY SOLD THE FORD TO THE AUCTION TO GET IT OFF THEIR HANDS. I WAS STALLED FOR 30 DAYS BELIEVING THEY WOULD FIX THE CAR, THE LEMON LAW COULDN'T HELP ME AFTER I FAXED ALL THE PAPERS TO THEM. THE FORD FOCUS WAS ON THE RECALL LIST, AND I DON'T HAVE THE CAR NOW, IS THERE ANYWAY I CAN GET CREDITED FOR THE $4.500 IN A LAW SUIT FOR BUYING THE FORD UNDER WARRANTY AND THEY REFUSE TO FIX THE CAR RIGHT.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A STATE ROAD ABOUT 100 YARDS AWAY FROM THE ROAD I LIVE ON. I TURNED MY TURN SIGNAL ON AND BEGAN SLOWING DOWN. WHEN I WAS ABLE TO TURN I BEGAN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR TO TURN, UPON DOING SO MY STEERING LOCKED UP. I LOST MY POWER STEERING AND WASN'T ABLE TO TURN. A CAR WAS APPROACHING AND HAD TO STOP TO PREVENT FROM HITTING MY ON MY PASSENGER SIDE. I HAVE NO CLUE WHY THERE HASN'T BEEN A RECALL AFTER RESEARCHING THIS DEFECT. THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN IN CRASHES INCLUDING DEATHS. I'M THANKFUL NO ONE WAS HURT IN THIS SITUATION BUT I CANT IMAGINE IF MY DAUGHTER WOULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING AS WE PURCHASED THIS CAR FOR HER. I PRAY YOU LOOK INTO THIS AND ISSUE A RECALL.
RECALL RECEIVED ON DOOR LATCHES. HOWEVER WHEN CALLING DEALER TO SCHEDULE NO RETURN CALL ONLY SOLICITATION CALLS ON WARRANTY. TRUNK USED TO OPEN 1 PUSH OF BUTTON NOW TRUNK WILL NOT OPEN HOWEVER WHEN IN REVERSE TRUNK CHIME COMES ON SAYING TRUNK IS OPEN. WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOPPED POSITION VEHICLE STARTS TO GO THEN COMPLETELY LOSES POWER HAPPENS AFTER CLUTCH IS COMPLETELY RELEASED IN MOTION JUST FALLS ON ITS FACE THEN IMMEDIATELY COMES OUT OF IT INFREQUENT BUT DANGEROUS EVEIDENT SINCE NEW.. TRACTION CONTROL IS ACCESSED THROUGH RADIO. RADIO STOPPED WORKING 22000. SOME DOORS DO NOT ALL UNLOCK INFREQUENTLY. WIPER INFREQUENTLY STOP WORKING AND PARK IN MIDDLE OF WINSHIELD
PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT LATCH. DOOR HAS TO BE DUCT TAPED TO KEEP CLOSED. DEALERSHIP RELEASED AN OBVIOUSLY UNSAFE VEHICLE TO THE OWNER SAYING IT HAD BEEN FIXED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS LOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE JERKED IN AND OUT OF GEAR WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. DARCARS FORD LANHAM (9020 LANHAM SEVERN RD, LANHAM, MARYLAND 20706, (301) 459-1100) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION MODULE; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE CONTACT REPORTED THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER OF THE VEHICLE HAD THE TRANSMISSION CHECKED AND SERVICED AT 20,600 MILES ON AUGUST 2, 2016. THE CONTACT SERVICED THE VEHICLE FOR THE TRANSMISSION FAILURE ON JULY 18, 2018. THE SAME DEALER RECOMMENDED THAT THE CONTACT DRIVE THE VEHICLE APPROXIMATELY 1,500 MILES TO ALLOW THE POWER TRAIN MODULE TO ADJUST ITSELF. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,320. *TT CONSUMER STATED CLUTCH WAS REPLACED AT DARCARS FORD. *JB
WE'RE JUST NOW FINDING OUT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON OUR CAR THAT CAUSES IT TO STALL OUT WHILE DRIVING AND NOW ARE CARS IN THE SHOP AND THERE ARE SAYING ITHAT THE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, WE WHERE ON A HIGHWAY GOING AT ABOUT 60-70 MPH AT THE MOST WE HEARD A BANG COME FROM THE ENGINE AND A CLOUD OF SMOKE POURD OUT FROM BEHIND US, T
AT 42000 MILES MY CAR DEVELOPED SOME NOISE WITH THE STEERING. THERE WAS RUBBING NOISE COMING FROM BEHIND THE STEERING WHEEL WHENEVER I WAS TURNING AT LOW SPEEDS SUCH AS WHEN I'M PULLING IN OR OUT OF PARKING. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO A FORD DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE STEERING RACK AND IT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. I'M AWARE THERE'S A RECALL 14S18 THAT ADDRESSES THIS ISSUE, BUT MY CAR ISN'T COVERED BECAUSE IT WASN'T MANUFACTURED AT THE DATE THAT AFFECTS THAT RECALL, SO I'M ASKING FOR RECALL 14S18 TO BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE VEHICLES BUILT AT THE SAME TIME AS MINE.
DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE IN ATLANTA, GA TRAVELING AROUND 65 MPH AND THE CAR LOST POWER AND THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED TO SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL. I HAD TO COAST TO THE SLOW LANE TO BE ABLE TO PULL ON THE SHOULDER, AS I HAD NO POWER. AFTER TURNING THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON, I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE AND EXIT THE INTERSTATE, BUT THE CAR LOST POWER AGAIN SHORTLY AFTER AND I HAD TO PULL OVER AND POWER CYCLE AGAIN. AT THAT POINT, I PULLED INTO A BUSINESS PARKING LOT AND CALLED A TOW TRUCK. THE CAR WOULD NOT EVEN START UP AGAIN AT THIS POINT.
JERKING AND HESITATION IN TAKE OFF OF TRANSMISSION
"DOOR AJAR" WARNING APPEARS FOR FRONT PASSENGER DOOR EVEN WHEN DOOR IS CORRECTLY CLOSED. LEADS TO A CASCADE OF OTHER ISSUES, BIGGEST SAFETY ISSUE WOULD BE DOORS MAY ALL REFUSE TO LOCK AT VARIOUS TIMES. ALSO RUNS VARIOUS LIGHTS AFTER PARKING VEHICLE, MIGHT AFFECT BATTERY CHARGE. I BELIEVE THE DOOR CLOSED SENSOR IS FAILING, THIS IS THE LOCK MECHANISM THAT WAS REPLACED IN AN EARLIER RECALL. PROBLEM BEGAN ABOUT A MONTH AGO, AT AROUND 33,000 MILES. MY DOOR LATCHES WERE REPLACED IN DECEMBER 2017 AT 21,000 MILES.
STEERING FAILED WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON THE I 4 A ROAD WHERE THE SPEED LIMIT VARIES FROM 65 TO 70 MILES AN HOUR. NOT A GREAT TIME TO NOT BE ABLE TO CONTROL OF YOUR CAR MADE IT HOME BUT THE CAR IS TO DIFFICULT TO DRIVE. AND NOW I FIND OUT FORD KNEW THIS WAS ISSUE SINCE 2013!.
TODAY, MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS CAME ON BY THEMSELVES WHEN I WAS IN A PARKED IN A PARKING LOT AND TURNED THE CAR ON TO TURN ON THE AC. I THOUGHT I BUMPED THE WIPER STALK HANDLE WITH MY KNEE. BUT WHEN I TRIED TO TURN IT OFF, IT WOULDN'T TURN OFF. I CHECKED MY MANUAL TO MAKE SURE I WAS DOING IT CORRECTLY. I WAS. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE THINKING IT WOULD STOP THE WIPERS, IT DIDN'T. SOMETHING WAS WRONG, SO I KNEW I HAD TO TAKE IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. LUCKILY, THE DEALERSHIP WAS ONLY 5-10 MILES AWAY AND THE WEATHER WAS NICE. HOWEVER, I FELT RIDICULOUS HAVING TO SQUIRT WATER INTERMITTENTLY ON MY WINDSHIELD WORRYING THAT THE WIPERS MIGHT DO DAMAGE TO MY WINDSHIELD IF I CAN'T TURN THEM OFF. I DID TAKE IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP, BUT THEY WON'T BE ABLE TO LOOK AT IT UNTIL NOON TOMORROW AND THEY CAN'T TURN OFF THE WIPERS EITHER, BUT TOLD ME IT WON'T DAMAGE MY WINDSHIELD. THE DIAGNOSTIC COST WILL BE $125.00 BEFORE ANY REPAIR IS DONE. I GOT A RIDE HOME FROM THEM. WHEN I GOT HOME I STARTED TO INVESTIGATE IF THE WIPER PROBLEM I JUST ENCOUNTERED, ANY OTHER FORD FOCUS SE 2014 OWNERS HAD. THERE HAS BEEN RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM ON EARLIER MODELS OF FORD FOCUS, 140,000 2012 MODELS AND ALSO 2013 MODELS. NONE FOR 2014. APPARENTLY, THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND I JUST SAW THERE HAVE BEEN 89 COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AND IT INCLUDES FORD FOCUS 2012, 2013, AND 2014 MODELS, ETC. THIS SHOULD BE A FORD RECALL ITEM AS THE WIPER PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED ON SUBSEQUENT MODELS. I LOOKED UP THE ESTIMATED COST FOR REPAIR FOR PARTS, REPLACEMENT, & LABOR AND IT'S PRICEY. I LOVE MY 2014 FORD FOCUS SE AND NEVER EXPECTED TO ENCOUNTER A WIPERS SAFETY MALFUNCTION LIKE THIS. I COULD ONLY IMAGINE IN A SEVERE RAINSTORM WITH THUNDER, LIGHTENING, AND HAIL WHAT A DRIVER AND PASSENGERS SAFETY ISSUE THIS COULD PRESENT.
WENT TO DEALER FOR OIL CHANGE & TIRE ROTATION AND WAS TOLD ALL LUG NUTS HAD TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE RUST MADE THEM SWELL. CAP WAS NEVER SEALED TO PREVENT RUST FROM BUILDING UP BETWEEN SILVER CAP ON LUG NUT AND STEEL NUT ITSELF, ONLY FOUR YEARS OLD AND HAD TO REPLACE ALL 20 LUG NUTS
WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR I HAD ISSUES WITH THE STEERING WHEEL THEY TOOK CARE OF THE PROBLEMS SO RECENTLY MY STEERING WHEEL ACTING UP AGAIN MAKING NOISES AND JUST YESTERDAY IT SAY STEERING LOSS SAFELY STOP SO I CHECK ONLINE THERE BEEN RECALLS ON STEERING ISSUES LUCKILY IT HAPPEN WHEN I PARK OR I WOULD OF BEEN IN A SERIOUS CRASH
WHEN ENTERING HIGH WAY AND STEP ON GAS CAR STRUGGLES AND STAYS AT A LOW SPEED AND WILL NO SPEED UP UNTIL AFTER AWHILE IT STARTS TO SHIFT GEARS. WHEN GOING AT A HIGH SPEED WHEELS START TO SHAKE CAR CAN'T GO FASTER THAN 55MPH. WHEN MAKING A COMPLETE STOP AND THE. STEP ON GAS IT STRUGGLES TO SHIFT GEARS, WHEN TURNING CAR OFF AND THEN TURNING IT ON AFTER 10 MINUTES CAR WILL NOT TURN ON EVEN WITH A NEW BATTERY. YOU HAVE TO KEEP TRYING TO IDLE UNTIL CAR TURNS ON.
FORD REPLACED TRANSMISSION MODULE/SENDOR CAR KEPT STALLING. WAS IN HIGHSPEED LANE CAR JUST CUT OFF. HAPPENED 2X IN 8 DAYS. FORD SAYS NO RECALLS BUT SAME ISSUE KEEPS HAPPENING. IT IS UNSAFE IT COULD HAVE BEEN FATAL I WAS IN RUSH HR TRAFFIC. THANK GOD I WAS GOING DOWN AN INCLINE AND COULD COAST ENOUGH TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD.

VEHICLE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT PROMPTLY, RPM'S REV OVER 3 TO 4 RPM'S BEFORE SHIFTING CASING JERKING, SHUDDERING, JOLT CAR BACKWARDS COMING TO A SLOW AND STEADY STOP. RED WARNING LIGHTS ON DASH CONSOLE INDICATING EMERGENCY PROBLEM & UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON A CITY STREET AND I GOT A WARNING LIGHT THAT SAID "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" AND I SUDDENLY LOST MY POWER STEERING. WHILE DOING AN INTERNET SEARCH ON THE PROBLEM I FOUND A SITE WITH MANY COMPLAINTS AND THEY SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2013 FORD FOCUS MODELS FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, SO THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH FORD.
STEERING ASSIST MESSAGE CAME ON DURING ENGINE STAR ,VEHICLE WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN STEER OUT OF PARKING LOT .CAR HAS ONLY 73000 MILES . DEALER REPAIRED AT OWNER COST OF OVER $2100 .COMPLETE STEERING MECHANISM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED .
THIS VEHICLE BOGS DOWN, HAS LOW POWER, AND SLOW ACCELERATION. DOES NOT SHOW ANY FAULT CODES OR SERVICE LIGHTS. I TOOK THIS FORD FOCUS TO TWO DIFFERENT SHOPS; ONE OF THEM BEING A FORD DEALER. THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. NO PART FAILURES. NO CODES TO TROUBLESHOOT. THEY SAID THAT THEY CAN NOT EXPLAIN THE REASONING FOR THIS BY THE CAR SEEMS FINE ALTHOUGH IT HAS THIS ISSUE. IT MAKES LEAVING FROM A STOP VERY DANGEROUS AS THE CAR IS REALLY SLOW TO ACCELERATE. IT HAS ALMOST CAUSED TWO ACCIDENTS WHERE OTHER DRIVERS ARENT EXPECTING MY SLOW ACCELERATION. THIS IS COMMON IN THE VEHICLES WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. BUT MY FOCUS HAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. SO FORD DEALERS AND SERVICE SUPPORT ONLINE ARE AT A MISS FOR WHAT THE ISSUE WOULD BE AS THE VEHICLE SHOWS NO ISSUES IN THE HEALTH REPORT. AFTER TALKING TO FORD SERVICE ONLINE THEY HAVE ASKED FOR ME TO GO TO THE NHTSA AND PLACE AN OFFICIAL REPORT SO THAT THIS ISSUE CAN BE INVESTIGATED AS IT IS NOT THE FIRST. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD THE SPARK PLUGS, COILS REPLACED AND STILL NO DIFFERENCE. THIS IS A DANGER FOR ANYONE DRIVING OR NEAR THIS VEHICLE WHILE DRIVING.
HELLO, TODAY I GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT. I HYDROPLANED AND WENT INTO A GUIDE RAIL ON THE INTERSTATE GOING ABOUT 50MPH. MY FRIEND AND I ARE HAVING MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH OUR BACKS AND NECKS AND MY AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME I'VE GOTTEN INTO ACCIDENT AND THEY DIDN'T DEPLOY. THE FIRST TIME WASN'T LIFE THREATENING BUT THIS ONE WAS. I DON'T HAVE ANY RECOLLECTION OF THE ACCIDENT AND I AM NOT ABLE TO REMEMBER MUCH OF YESTERDAY EITHER. FORD REPLACED THE DOOR LATCHES UNDER RECALL 9 MONTHS AGO AND THE DRIVER DOOR LATCH HAS BROKEN, AGAIN. FORD STATES THAT WARRANTY FOR RECALL PARTS IS 12 MONTHS/12,000 MILES. I HAVE DRIVEN 14,000 SINCE THE REPAIR. THIS IS STILL AN ACTIVE RECALL AND YET THE DEALER IS CHARGING APPROXIMATELY $300.00 FOR THE REPAIR. THIS IS SO WRONG, IT'S STILL A SAFETY ISSUE AS NOW MY DRIVER DOOR WON'T STAY CLOSED.
PURCHASED USED IN JUNE 2018. HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTING WHILE DRIVING. THE CAR WON'T SHIFT INTO REVERSE AT ALL. TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER THEIR POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. WAS TOLD IT WAS A CLUTCH ISSUE AND WAS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS THAT FORD FAILED TO FIX.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. TSS FORD (1733 US-97, MADRAS, OR 97741, (541) 475-7204) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE.
MY 2014 FORD FOCUS WAS SOLD WITH A DEFECTIVE EVAPORATION EMISSION CONTROL (EVAP) SYSTEM. BECAUSE OF THE DEFECT, RAW FUEL CAN BE SUCKED THROUGH THE EVAP CANISTER THROUGH THE PURGE VALVE DIRECTLY INTO THE ENGINE, CAUSING THE CAR TO STALL OR HESITATE WHILE DRIVING, WHICH CAN BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO DRIVERS AND PEDESTRIANS. MY CAR IS A 2014 AND HAS APPROX. 27K MILES ON IT. I NOW WILL HAVE TO PAY $1960 IN REPAIRS TO REPLACE THE EVAP PURGE VALVE, THE FUEL TANK, THE FUEL PUMP, AND THE FUEL SENDING UNIT, WHICH HAVE ALL BEEN DAMAGED AS A RESULT OF THE VALVE FAILURE. I HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS IDENTICAL COMPLAINTS ON CARCOMPLAINTS.COM AND THE NHTSA GOVERNMENT WEBSITE, INCLUDING COMPLAINTS THAT PEOPLE COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HARMED, AS THEY LOST CONTROL OF THEIR VEHICLE ON HIGHWAY OR MAJOR ROAD. THERE WAS A LAWSUIT IN 2017 (JON RIVERA, ET. AL., V. FORD MOTOR COMPANY) BUT FORD WON AND THE DEFECT WAS NOT CONSIDERED A RECALL. I BELIEVE FORD SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR MANUFACTURING A FAULTY PART AND PUTTING CONSUMERS IN DANGER THAT THEY MAY NOT REALIZE. FORD SHOULD ABSORB THE COSTS THAT ARE RESULTING FROM THE FAILURE OF DEFECTIVE PARTS IN RELATIVELY NEW CARS.

MY CAR IS NOT ABLE TO DRIVE IN REVERSE. IT IS NOT ABLE TO GO OVER 40 MILES PER HOUR. IT DOES A JERKING WHILE CHANGING GEARS. IT ALSO DO THIS WHILE IN PARK WITH KEY IN AND WITH KEY OUT. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED OR DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE AND JERK. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE POWER SHIFTER WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE OCCURRED THE NEXT DAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND OFFERED TO BUY-BACK THE VEHICLE AS A DOWN PAYMENT FOR A NEW VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,000.

I TOOK THE CAR TO FORD AND THEY REPLACED THE CLUTCH. FOR ABOUT 2MTHS IT WAS FINE. THEN IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE PROBABLY. THE CAR THEN STARTS TURNING OFF IN TRAFFIC AND I ALMOST WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT. I THEN REPLACED THE BATTERY. THEN I FINALLY DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO FORD AND THAT'S WHEN THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED MY ENTIRE FUEL SYSTEM REPLACED. I CAN NOT AFFORD THAT AND I AM UNABLE TO PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY WHICH WILL NOT EVEN COVER THE EXISTING ISSUES EVEN IF I DID PURCHASE IT. I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE MY CREDIT ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH TO OBTAIN ANOTHER CAR. I PAY A MORE EVERY MONTH AND I NEED SOME HELP.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving from a complete stop, the accelerator pedal was depressed but the vehicle hesitated to respond and jerked. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission clutch had failed and the failure was associated to an unknown recall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that the recall repair could not be completed unless the transmission had completely failed. However, the failure persisted and caused the vehicle to roll backwards while driving uphill. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Hiawatha Ford (1812 Oregon St, Hiawatha, KS 66434), who informed the contact that the recall repair could not be performed as the recall had already expired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL INJECTORS WERE FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.

THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DISCLOSE THE DETAILS OF THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V523000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE DUAL CLUTCH HAS BEEN REPLACED NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE OUR PURCHASE OF THE CAR. WE BOUGHT IT USED FROM A FORD DEALERSHIP AND LOOKING AT MAINTENANCE RECORDS THIS HAD ALREADY BEEN AN ISSUE BEFORE IT WAS SOLD TO US. THIS INFORMATION WAS NEVER DISCLOSED TO US PRIOR TO PURCHASE. THE CAR UNEXPECTEDLY JOLTS FORWARD CAUSING AN ISSUE WITH ACCELERATION. THE DUAL CLUTCH HAS HAD TO CONTINUALLY BE REPLACED EVERY FEW MONTHS INCURRING HIGH MAINTENANCE COSTS. WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THE CAR AND THE HIGH MAINTENANCE COSTS INCURRED BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION HAS NOT YET BEEN RECALLED. IF THIS IS KNOWN TO BE THE ISSUE, THE CONSUMER SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR TEMPORARY FIXES, WHEN THE PROBLEM COULD BE RESOLVED BY THE REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION.
THE WIPERS FREEZE WHEN IN THE INTERMITTENT MODE. IN TOOK MY FOCUS INTO PALM BAY FORD. THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE WIPERS, THEY WERE JUST DIRTY. THEY CLEANED THEM WITH SOAP AND WATER. THE NEXT IN THE RAIN THE WIPERS FROZE UP AGAIN.
I WAS DRIVING AND WAS SLOWING DOWN TO TAKE A SHARP CURVE WHEN THE IDLE SPEED SPED UP THE SUDDENLY DROPPED AND THEN THE ENGINE DIED. I RESTARTED THE CAR BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IT DID THE SAME THING AS I WAS DRIVING BEHIND OTHER TRAFFIC WHICH WAS GOING SLOW. I DROVE TO MY MECHANIC HE TEST DROVE THE CAR AND SAID THE THROTTLE BODY WAS GOING BAD. IN MAY 2018 I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK STATING THE SAME ISSUE BUT WORST. THEY SAID IT'S THE TCM AND IT WOULD COST ME $1850. I COMPLAINED TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY. FORD SAID THEY FIXED IT. THE NEXT DAY I HAD TO BRING THE CAR BACK BECAUSE THE DASHBOARD SAID "TRANSMISSION OVERHEATING PLEASE STOP" THEN IT STALL ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. I TOOK IT BACK TO THEM AND ASKED WHAT DID THEY FIXED. THEY HAD THE CAR FOR 2 DAYS THEN CALLED ME TO TELL ME IT'S THE CLUTCH AND IT'S NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY AND IT COSTS $2400. THE CLUTCH IS PART OF THE TRANSMISSION SO WHY ISN'T IT? THEY ARE NOW TELLING ME BECAUSE MY CAR HAS 94000 MILES ON IT THAT IT IS NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. WHO BUYS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE FOR IT TO CONK OUT ON THEM AT 94000? THEY WILL NOT FIX MY CAR WITHOUT ME PAYING FOR IT. THIS IS A DEFECTIVE PART THAT FORD HAS AND THEY REFUSE TO TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE MATTER AND RESOLVE IT. I HAD TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST FORD REGARDING THIS. SEVERAL OTHERS ARE NOW BEING COMPENSATED BUT THEY ARE RESIDENTS OF CA WHICH HAS STRICTER LEMON LAWS. THE SUIT IS NOW ON HOLD.
