THE DUAL CLUTCH POWERSHIFT TRANSMISSION HAS BEGUN TO FAIL ON ME. IT JERKS SUDDENLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, HAS RPM FLARES AND WILL NOT SHIFT INTO REVERSE. WHEN BROUGHT TO SAYVILLE FORD, LENNY TOLD ME THAT THIS PARTICULAR MODEL 2014 FORD FOCUS WAS NOT COVERED BY ANY EXTENDED WARRANTY AND WOULD THEREFORE COST ME 2200 TO REPAIR. HE DID EXPLAIN TO ME THAT THE TCM WAS UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THIS WAS APPARENTLY NOT THE ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE. I CONTINUE TO HAVE THESE ISSUES.
I HAVE A 2014 FORD FOCUS THAT HAS A DPS6 TRANSMISSION THAT NEEDS TO HAVE THE CLUTCHES REPLACED. I BOUGHT USED IN DEC 2015 AND IN EARLY 2016 I STARTED TO HAVE SHUTTERING PROBLEMS. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS WAS NORMAL. ABOUT 6 MONTHS LATER I HAD THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN. TOOK MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS LEARNING HOW YOU DRIVE AND THIS WAS NORMAL. ABOUT 6 MONTHS AFTER THAT MY ENGINE STALLED BECAUSE MY TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT GO BETWEEN GEARS. I FINALLY GOT MY CAR STARTED AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY REFLASHED MY TCM. MY CAR RAN ALRIGHT FOR AWHILE AND THEN I STARTED TO HAVE PROBLEMS AGAIN WITH SHIFTING AND SHUDDERING. TOOK MY CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD MY CLUTCHES WERE OUT OF SPECS AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $2,000 WHICH I CANNOT AFFORD. AT NO TIME DID THE DEALER GIVE ME ANY PAPERWORK. EVEN AFTER I ASKED FOR PAPERWORK. NOW I CONTINUE TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH SHUDDERING AND THE ENGINE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THE GO AWAY AFTER THE CAR SITS OVERNIGHT. WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD EVERYTHING WORKS FINE UNTIL THE ENGINE GETS WARM AND THEN I START HAVING PROBLEMS AGAIN. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH. I NOTICE THERE IS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN 16-0109. HOWEVER FORD WILL NOT FIX. THEY TELL ME MY CAR IS NOT ON THIS LIST. WHATEVER THIS MEANS. I AM TRULY FRUSTRATED WITH FORD AND I AM AFRAID THAT I MAY CAUSE A ACCIDENT. APPARENTLY I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE HAVING THESE PROBLEMS. WHY IS THERE NO RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES? FORD KNOWING KNEW ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS AND CONTINUED TO SELL THESE VEHICLES AND NOT FORCED TO FIX.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED "POWER STEERING LOSS" AND THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (ECHELON FORD, 4 S WHITE HORSE PIKE, STRATFORD, NJ 08084, 1-(856) 627-8400) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER ISSUED 95 TSBS FOR THE STEERING AND ONE STEERING RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000. *TT
VACUUM SEAL ON GAS TANK IS FAULTY AND GETS AIR BUBBLES AND THE CAR CUTS OFF AT RANDOM. IT CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION YESTERDAY AND I ALMOST GOT HIT. I'VE REPORTED THIS ISSUE MULTIPLE TIMES. SEVERAL OTHER ONES WERE RECALLED BUT NOT MY VIN NUMBER BUT IT'S THE EXACT SAME ISSUE.
THE WIPER BLADES ARE GETTING STUCK ON THE WINDOW AND MAKES IT DANGEROUS TO SEE WHEN IT IS RAINING AND I AM DRIVING. ALSO WHEN I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR (GAS PETAL) THE CAR HESITATES TO ACCELERATE WHILE DRIVING.
MY CAR ACTUALLY STOPPED ON ME ON SUNDAY MAY 13, 2018 OFF I-35 ON FREEWAY. I WAS DRIVING WITH MY SON AND DAUGHTER IN LAW IN THE CAR AND I BEGIN TO FEEL THE CAR JUST SLOW DOWN. IT WAS FRIGHTENING BECAUSE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND WITH NO WARNING, THE CAR SLOWED DOWN TO "TURTLES PACE" AND I TRIED TO EXCELERATE BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. HAD TO IMMEDIATELY GET IN LANE TO GET CAR OFF THE FREEWAY. IT STALLED OUT. WE HAD TO WAIT FOR HOURS IN THE DARK UNTIL MY SON CAME TO PICK US UP. I HAD TO LEAVE THE CAR UNTIL THE NEXT DAY. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO CAR REPAIR AND HE TOLD ME HE COULD NOT FIX IT BECAUSE OF RECALL. I HAD TO PAY THE CAR REPAIR FOR THE PART HE ORDERED THAT HE WAS NOT ABLE TO USE. I THEN HAD THE CAR TOWED TO AUTO NATION FORD IN ARLINGTON, TX AND THEY CHARGED ME TO FIX THE CAR AND DID NOT RECOGNIZE THE RECALL. I FELT LIKE AUTO NATION FORD DID NOT EVEN TRY TO SEE ANYTHING AS A RECALL THEY JUST WANTED THERE MONEY. MY CAR STILL HESITATES AND I AM REALLY AFRAID TO DRIVE IT BUT HAVE NO CHOSE
THE POWER TRAIN REPEATEDLY "SLIPS" AND MAKES UNUSUAL NOISES DURING ACCELERATION AND DEACCELERATION. 3RD PARTY OBSERVERS HAVE ALSO AND REPEATEDLY MADE SIMILAR OBSERVATIONS.
BOUGHT THE CAR IN MARCH 2018, BY MAY 2018, CAR HAD TROUBLE WITH STAYING STARTED AFTER I STARTED IT. IT WOULD SHUT OFF BEFORE REACHING THE END OF MY DRIVEWAY. BUT ONCE IT WAS JUMPED IT WOULD START BACK UP AND DRIVE AGAIN FOR A BIT. BY AUGUST, IT WAS HAPPENING AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. THEN IT STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. COULDN'T JUMP IT, REPLACED THE BATTERY, IT DIDN'T HELP, TOOK IT UP TO THE DEALER, THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE ISSUE, TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL CAR SHOP, IT WAS THERE FROM AUGUST TIL THE END OF SEPTEMBER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO IDENTIFY THE ISSUE, STILL HASN'T BEEN RESOLVED BUT IT IS CURRENTLY DRIVING ALTHOUGH IT IS HAVING ISSUES AS WELL. DASH WILL GO BLACK, WHEN IDLING IT SHUTTERS, NO SCREEN UNTIL IT'S ACTUALLY STARTED. REAR VIEW CAMERA HAD QUIT THEN STARTED TO WORK AGAIN.
INCIDENT #1 - WHILE TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE, I ATTEMPTED TO CHANGE LANES TO PREPARE FOR AN UPCOMING EXIT. NOTICING FASTER MOVING TRAFFIC APPROACHING FROM BEHIND (I HAD JUST ENTERED THE FREEWAY), I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR TO SPEED UP DURING THE LANE CHANGE. MY VEHICLE "SHIFTED" INTO NEUTRAL, CAUSING ME TO LOSE ACCELERATION WHEN I ABSOLUTELY NEEDED IT TO MATCH THE SPEED OF OVERTAKING TRAFFIC. I QUICKLY MOVED BACK TO MY ORIGINAL LANE TO AVOID BEING STRUCK FROM BEHIND. INCIDENT #2 - WHILE STOPPED AT A YIELD, WAITING TO ENTER A TRAFFIC CIRCLE, I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE INTO THE TRAFFIC CIRCLE, BUT JUST AS MY CAR BEGAN TO MOVE FORWARD, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED INTO "NEUTRAL", RPMS WENT UP TO ABOUT 4,000. WHEN I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE GAS TO APPLY BRAKE AND STOP MY ENTRANCE TO THE TRAFFIC CIRCLE, THE TRANSMISSION CAUGHT (CLUTCH ENGAGED) AND PROPELLED ME INTO THE TRAFFIC CIRCLE, WHICH BY THIS TIME HAD APPROACHING TRAFFIC. NARROWLY AVOIDED A SERIOUS COLLISION BY STEERING TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD.
TCM HAS BEEN REPROGRAMMED ONE AND 2 NEW CLUTCHES HAVE BEEN INSTALLED UNDER WARRANTY. SHUDDER HAS RETURNED AT AROUND 12,000 MILES SINCE LAST NEW CLUTCH INSTALLED. FORD REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING SINCE IT WAS 120 MILES OVER THE WARRANTY. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THESE CARS.
ON FRIDAY 27 OF APRIL 2018 I WAS DRIVING MY CAR , I MADE A STOP ON A RED LIGHT TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN THEN WHEN I ACCELERATED MY CHECK ENGINE TURN ON AND I FELT MY CAR MESS 2ND GEAR AND LOST POWER FOR 3 TO 4 SECONDS. AFTER THAT INCIDENT I PARK MY CAR AND I DECIDE TO RETURN HOME SO I TRY TO REVERSE AND MY REVERSE WASN'T WORKING. IMMEDIATELY I TOOK THE CAR TO A MECHANIC AND HE SCAN IT, SO HE GAVE ME THE CODE INDICATING IT WAS THE CLUTCH ACTUATOR B. ON MONDAY I WENT TO BUY THE PART AT THE LOCAL DEALER AND MY MECHANIC CHANGE IT AND IT FIX THE PROBLEM FOR A WEEK AND IT DID IT AGAIN ON MAY 5 2018. THIS TIME THE CAR LOSE POWER WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. I WAS DRIVING AT 55 MPH AND IT WAS RISKY FOR MYSELF AND FAMILY AND OTHER VEHICLES BECAUSE I COULD HAVE A ACCIDENT OR PUT PEOPLE IN DANGER. THE LOCAL DEALER DID THE DUAL CLUTCH REPLACEMENTS,THE SEALS AND THE TCM CONTROL MODUL AROUND 50000 MILES AGO AND EVEN AFTER THOSE REPLACEMENT AND REPAIRS THE CAR ISN'T WORKING WELL AND IT ALWAYS HAS ONE PROBLEM AND ANOTHER. THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION MOUNTS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE WE GOT THE CAR. ON BEHALF OF THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT PROBLEMS AND POOR DISIGN OF TE TRANSMISSION I HAVE TO CHANGE CONSTANTLY THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION MOUNTS.I HOPE FORD COMPANY TAKES CARE OF THIS PROBLEM AS RESPONSIBLE OF SELLING DEFECTIVE CARS AND TRYING TO ACT LIKE NOTHING IS HAPPENING AND PUTTING LIFE'S ON RISK....
WHEN ACCELERATING TO AROUND 40 MPH, ON THE FREEWAY, THE CAR STARTED SHAKING AND LOST POWER, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE SERVICE ENGINE NOW LIGHT ALSO LIT UP. TOOK THE CAR TO LOCAL DEALER AND THEY FIGURED CARS ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY (ETB) WAS DEFECTIVE AND WOULD COST $370+ TO REPAIR. AFTER INVESTIGATING THOROUGHLY, I DISCOVERED THIS WAS A DEFECT IN MORE THAN 1.6 MILLON FORD VEHICLES AND TOLD THE DEALER, BUT THE DEALER ALONG WITH FORD HQ ADVISED THEY WOULD NOT ASSIST IN THE PAYMENT OF THE PART OR REPAIR WHAT-SO-EVER.
2014 FORD FOCUS DRIVING ON RT 1 AT 40MPH JUST STOP MOVING FORWARD IN TRAFFIC. WAS LUCKY TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. CAR WOULD NOT MOVE WHILE IN DRIVE. TURN OFF CAR FOR A FEW MINUTES THEN CAR WAS ABLE TO MOVE FORWARD. DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO CAR ONLY HAS 19K MILES ON IT. PRIOR TO PURCHASING CAR USED AT FORD DEALER WITH 9K? MILES ON IT. ANOTHER TIME WHILE IN A PARKING LOT CAR WAS NOT ABLE TO GO IN REVERSE OR FORWARD AT AROUND 11K? MILES. TURN OFF CAR WAITED AND RESTARTED THEN IT WAS FINE. ALSO GET SHUDDERING IN THE TRANSMISSION ALL THE TIME. CALL FORD THEY WHERE NO HELP ON THIS MATTER AS THEY STATED THIS TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE FLUCTUATED AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL DELIVERY MODULE MALFUNCTIONED. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND TRANSFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
VEHICLE IS HESITATING FROM START AND SEEMS TO BE HAVING PROBLEMS SHIFTING INTO GEARS. IT STARTED ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO AND THESE PAST FEW WEEKS SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORSE BY THE DAY

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,980.
MY 2014 FORD FOCUS HAS RUN HIT IT WILL SAY THE TRANSMISSION IS OVERHEATING AND IT WILL CUT ITSELF OFF. I HAVE HAD IT CUT OFF ON ME TWICE.I CAN HAVE A FULL TANK OFF GAS AND ONLY RUN MY CAR LIKE 40 MILES AND IT WILL SAY ITS EMPTY. I HAVE HAD WERE MY CAR WILL NOT GO INTO REVERSE OR DRIVE THE ONLY GEAR I HAVE WOULD BE THE SPORTS MODE I HAVE LITERALLY HAD TO PUSH MY CAR.WHEN IT COOLS DOWN IT WOULD GO INTO GEAR BUT AS SOON AS THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION WOULD GET HOT IT WOULDN'T HAVE ANY GEARS ANYMORE. I HAVE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD MONTHS AGO THAT STATED THEY WOULD HAVE MY PART BY THE END OF MARCH2019 HERE IT IS THE END OF JUNE2019 AND IT STILL HASN'T BEEN FIXED
AT 61,100 MILES (1,100 MILES OVER THE WARRANTY), THE FUEL TANK COLLAPSED DUE TO A MANUFACTURER'S FLAW RESULTING IN A FAILED FUEL SENDING UNIT. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET THIS RESOLVED BY FORD HAS RENDERED FUTILE.

IN ADDITION, THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED TO SHIFT INTO THE DRIVE POSITION AND SMOKE APPEARED UNDERNEATH THE HOOD ON ONE OCCASION WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS. MORRIE'S MINNETONKA FORD (13400 WAYZATA BLVD, MINNETONKA, MINNESOTA 55305, (952) 546-5441) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO REMEDY FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,542.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. FROM THERE, THE DEALER WOULD BE ABLE TO DETERMINE IF THEY WOULD REPAIR THE VEHICLE FOR FREE BASED ON THE DIAGNOSIS. THE CONTACT WAS STILL AWAITING THE DETERMINATION FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
CLUTCH RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANEDED!!! BURNING SMELL COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD. WENT TO GET A OIL CHANGE AND SAID IT WAS THE CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE CAN CAUSE FIRE. STOPPED DRIVING BATTERY DIED, REPLACED BATTERY, SMELL WENT AWAY AND THEN CAME BACK WHILE DRIVING...YESTERDAY BEFORE I WAS EXITING THE PARKING LOT SMELLED BURNING SMELL THEN WAS EXITING THE PARKING LOT TURNING LEFT ACROSS TRAFFIC WENT TO SHIFT AND COULD MOVE GEAR BUT CAR WOULD NOT GO. WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO WORK AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AS ON COMING TRAFFIC APPROACHED. MADE IT HOME SAFELY. CAN'T AFFORD TO NOT HAVE CAR AS WE ARE STILL MAKING PAYMENTS BUT CANT DRIVE WITH KIDS IN THE CAR DUE TO FIRE RISK. CAR WAS MADE IN MICHIGAN HAS 2.0L GDI ENGINE. CURRENTLY ONLY THE GTD1 ENGINE IS RECALLED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 FORD FOCUS THAT SHE PURCHASED FROM PACIFICO FORD, INC.(6701 ESSINGTON AVE, PHILADELPHIA, PA 19153). SHE STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS WITHOUT WARNING SOON AFTER PURCHASE. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND AFTER A WEEK, THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE CONTACT. UPON RETURN OF THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY ACCELERATED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK WITHOUT WARNING. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE SLAMMED INTO A BARRIER AND FLIPPED OVER INTO SLOPE AND LANDED INTO A TREE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY UPON IMPACT. THE CONTACT WAS ASSISTED BY A BYSTANDER AND WAS TAKEN OUT OF HER VEHICLE. THE AUTHORITIES ARRIVED AT THE SCENE AND THE CONTACT WAS TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL TO BE TREATED FOR HER INJURIES. Jan.26th 2018 I purchased a 2014 Ford Focus SE from Pacifico Ford. I was told by salesman No Recalls and No safety Issues. The car was on the lot with new inspection stickers. I was given a clean car fax. I was deceived. The car was returned the next day for driving improperly. It gave too much gas or not enough, was shuddering and sticking, steering issues, drifted to the right, and steering wheel had to be crooked to park to adjust the wheels, and car had a burn smell. Ford found transmission problem, engine leaking oil, clutch problem, cpu issues, failed road test and leaky seals. A week later, I was told all was fixed as new. April 23rd 2018 the car malfunctioned disabling me for life. While I was parking, the car accelerated forward, slammed into a barrier, roared up in the air, slammed down a slope and into a tree. Malfunction codes from an auto collision center were it was towed were achieved, one of which is an acceleration malfunction code. No air bags deployed, no warning. I found out after the malfunction there were many safety issues and recalls that I was not told of day of sale. Ford, a once trusted company, disabled me for life.

WHILE DRIVING DOWN INTERSTATE 75 SOUTH AT 70 MILES PER HOUR, CAR SET ON CRUISE CONTROL, THE CAR LURCH FORWARD. WHEN ACCELERATING IT FEELS LIKE THE CLUTCH IS NOT ENGAGING. THE CAR RATTLES AND JERKS DESPITE PREVIOUS RECALL REPAIR OF THE TRANSMISSION AND RECENT REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION MODULATOR SYSTEM. THIS PROBLEM HAS EXISTED SINCE I GOT THE CAR, BUT HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE AND FEELS LIKE IT IS GOING TO STALL OR RUIN THE TRANSMISSION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CROSSROADS FORD OF CARY (877-830-1251, LOCATED AT 2333 WALNUT ST, CARY, NC 27518) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE DEALER WOULD BE CONTACTED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT CALLED BACK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED.
