WHEN I COME TO A STOP AFTER DOING FREEWAY SPEEDS 70-75 MPH FOR 30 MINUTES IT GIVES ME A HIGH TEMP WARNING. WHEN I STOPPED TO CHECK UNDER THE HOOD IT DIDN'T LOOK, OR SMELL HOT, BUT THE WARNING LIGHT INDICATED HIGH TEMP IN THE ENGINE.
I HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR I'VE HAD IT FOR EIGHT MONTHS AND I AM IN A DEATH TRAP FORD IS TRYING TO KILL ME I SWEAR TO GOD I'VE TAKEN THIS CAR IN FOR TRANSMISSION ALIGNMENT TIRE ROTATION IS A FULL BLOWN BODY INSPECTION MY CAR PULLS ME LEFT ALRIGHT I NEVER WATCH BUT I NEVER KNOW WHICH WAY I'M GOING I COME OFF THE FREEWAY AND I BETTER BE PREPARED FOR HEAD ON COLLISION I HAD A FORD TEC , DRIVE WITH ME IN THIS DANGEROUS CAR AND HE TO FELT THE CAR POOL ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. WINDSHIELD WIPERS STOP MID-WIPE. WIPER CONTROL CAN BE IN ANY OPERATING POSITION (HIGH, LOW, INTERMITTENT). THIS OCCURS WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. IT IS IDENTICAL, FROM WHAT I HAVE READ ON LINE AND VIEWED IN VIDEOS, TO PREVIOUS MODEL YEARS THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED. I DID NOT SEE A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE FOR THE 2014 MODEL YEAR ON THE NHTSA WE SITE, THUS THE REASON FOR THIS SUBMISSION. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE USED IN SEPTEMBER OF 2017. ISSUE STARTED ABOUT FEBRUARY 2018.
WHEN CAR IS PARKED AND I START THE ENGINE THE DASHBOARD SHOWS "STEERING ASSIST FAULT" ERROR MESSAGE APPEARS. WHEN THE ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THE STEERING WHEEL WILL BE VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN TO THE RIGHT OR TO THE LEFT OR WILL LOCK. THIS ISSUE MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT TO MAKE TURNS IN AN INTERSECTIONS, HIGHWAYS AND CITY STREETS. PROBLEM WILL CONTINUES UNTIL CAR IS TURN OFF. WHEN THE CAR IS STARTED UP AGAIN, THE MESSAGE ERROR WILL APPEAR ON THE DASHBOARD AND THE STEERING WHEEL PROBLEM WILL CONTINUE.
2014 FORD FOCUS SE TRANSMISSION RECALL/ REPAIR. THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS AND JERKS BADLY . WAS TOLD BY FORD THAT THIS WAS A KNOW PROBLEM FOR THIS CAR WITH THIS TYPE TRANSMISSION , BUT THEY WOULD NOT HELP ME. IT IS THROWING CODES FOR THIS.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while her husband was driving on the highway approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power and was shuddering while shifting gear. The “Service Engine Now” warning light was illuminated. The driver was able to pull over to side of the roadway, turn off, and restart the vehicle and drove to the residence safely. The vehicle was then taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. Additionally, there was also an unstated failure with the engine. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 57,000.
HARD SHIFTS FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. CLUTCH REPLACED 4 TIMES ISSUE OCCURRING AGAIN. CAUSES CAR TO JUMP FORWARD DURING SHIFT. HAS ALMOST CAUSED NUMEROUS ACCIDENTS. I LEAVE 1 CAR SPACE BETWEEN ME AND THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME AT COMPLETE STOPS JUST IN CASE THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD. HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE A FEW DAYS AFTER PURCHASE IN 2014 TO PRESENT.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that the failure occurred intermittently; however, the failure previously occurred while in traffic. The contact also stated that the failure occurred while the contact and the contact's son were driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, the vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact stated that previously the failure had been repaired under warranty however, the repair only lasted for approximately nine months. The contact was informed that the repair would no longer be covered under the extended warranty under the Customer Satisfaction Program: 14M02. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 57,000.
EXTREME STALLING PROBLEMS DRIVING ON FREEWAY AND GOING ON INCLINES. CAR HAS HEAVY JERKING AT STOP AND GO SPEEDS. TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON ASKING TO PULL OVER AND WAIT 6 MINUTES FOR OVERHEATING. 3 TIMES IN LESS THAN A YEAR CAR HAS BEEN TO THE SHOP
I BOUGHT MY FIRST BRAND NEW CAR A 2014 FORD FOCUS. I DECIDED TO GO WITH A NEW CAR TO HAVE LESS PROBLEMS IN THE LONG RUN. BOY WAS I WRONG. AFTER ONLY 25000 MILES MY CAR BEGAN HAVING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. I THEN BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND FOUND OUT THAT FORD HAD ISSUED A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION MODULE. SO I HAD THAT REPLACED FREE OF CHARGE. MY CAR NOW HAS 45000 MILES ON IT AND IT BEGAN CAUSING ME PROBLEMS AGAIN, SO I THOUGHT IT WAS THE SAME THING AS BEFORE. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. AFTER A DAY OF WAITING I RECEIVED A CALL ENTAILING ALL THAT WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR. THIS TIME IT AS MUCH WORSE, MY CATALYTIC CONVERTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED WHICH I WAS TOLD THIS WAS COVERED BY MY WARRANTY. NOW THE NEXT PART I WAS TOLD IS THE REASON I AM HERE WRITING THIS COMPLIANT. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT MY FUEL TANK HAD COLLAPSED, AND IT WAS GOING TO COST ME UPWARDS OF $2100 TO BE FIXED. SO I THEN ASKED THE QUESTION, WHAT CAUSED THIS TO HAPPEN? I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A RARE OCCURRENCE AND THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD HAVE DONE TO PREVENT IT. NOW KEEP IN MIND I CHANGE MY OIL EVERY 3000 MILES AND DO ALL THE NORMAL MAINTENANCE TO KEEP ANY CAR RUNNING SMOOTHLY. I BEGAN TO RESEARCH COLLAPSED FUEL TANKS IN 2014 FORD FOCUSES, AND I FOUND THAT THIS NOT A RARE OCCURRENCE AND IN FACT IT HAS HAPPENED TO QUITE A FEW PEOPLE. I HOPE THIS IS FOUND AND READ BY CORPORATE FORD, SO A RECALL CAN BE INITIATED AND I CAN BE COMPENSATED.
THIS CAR WAS BOIUGHT IN LOUISVILLE KY AT OXMOORE FORD IN MARCH 2018 I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK 3 TIMES AT 1ST SAID IT WAS NOT FAILING THEN THE 2 ND TIME REPLACED CLUTCH IN TRANSMISSION AND 3RD REPLACED CLUTCH AGAIN AND IT IS NOW SEPT 2018 AND NOT MUCH BETTER STILL JOLTING AND SHUDDER AND HESITATION AT ACCELERATION THIS CAR IS VERY DANGEROUS IT ALSO HAS A VIBRATION AT IDLE
AUTOMATIC CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY IN GEAR ESPECIALLY WHILE IN 1ST GEAR THIS MADE IT DIFFICULT TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC AND KEEP UP SPEED WITH THE TRANSMISSION JERKING TRYING TO CHANGE GEARS. THIS ALMOST CAUSED MY DAUGHTER TO GET HIT SEVERAL TIMES. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES FOR COMPUTER PROGRAMMING. 1 TIME FOR CLUTCH REPLACEMENT AND FINALLY DEALERSHIP SAID THE CAR WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE BUT THEY COULDN'T DO AMY MORE WARRANTY WORK ON IT. CLUTCH WORE OUT LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AFTER BEING REPLACED. DEALER WANTED PAYMENT UP FRONT BEFORE THEY WOULD REPAIR THE CAR.
THE FIRST INCIDENCE (2/26/18) WAS WHILE STOPPED ON A HIGHWAY OFF-RAMP, THE ENGINE STALLED. THE CAR WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AND DRIVEN. ON A SECOND OCCASION (2/28/18), I WAS DRIVING AND IN MOTION ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET WHEN THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. THE BRAKES AND STEERING WAS NOT AFFECTED AND I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR AND RESTART THE ENGINE. PRIOR TO THIS, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I HAD SCHEDULED SERVICE ON THE CAR FOR 3/7/18 (THE EARLIEST THEY HAD AVAILABLE). THE CAR HAS HAD MULTIPLE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENTS IN THE FEW SHORT YEARS THAT I HAVE OWNED IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, A WARNING ALARM SOUNDED AND A STEERING FAILURE WARNING MESSAGE DISPLAYED. THE POWER STEERING SUDDENLY MALFUNCTIONED AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT DROVE OFF THE ROAD. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT YET DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THE CONTACT WAS INSTRUCTED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE DIAGNOSED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. I HAVE A 2014 FORD FOCUS THAT IS CURRENTLY HAVING TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A FORD DEALERSHIP HOPING IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND THAT THEY WOULD FIX IT. THEY TOLD ME THAT MY VEHICLE IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY SINCE IT WAS BUILT IN NOVEMBER OF 2013 AND THAT 14M01 ONLY APPLIES TO THOSE THAT HAVE CARS BUILT BEFORE JULY 3, 2013. MY ISSUE WITH THAT IS THAT FORD NOTED THAT "VEHICLES HAVING A BUILD DATE OF JUNE 6, 2013 OR LATER HAVE IMPROVED TRANSMISSION INPUT SHAFT SEALS THAT ARE NOT LIKELY TO EXPERIENCE LEAKS." OBVIOUSLY THEIR "IMPROVED TRANSMISSION INPUT SHAFT SEALS" ARE NOT IMPROVED SINCE MY CAR WITH 60,000 UN ABUSED MILES HAS ENCOUNTERED TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SEE WHAT MY LEGAL OPTIONS ARE WITH THIS LAWSUIT AS I DON'T THINK ITS RIGHT MY VEHICLE IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THIS LAWSUIT. I BELIEVE THAT FORD NEVER IMPROVED THEIR INPUT SHAFT SEALS SINCE I ENCOUNTERED THE SAME PROBLEM THAT WAS RECALLED.
I HAVE HAD TWO PARTICULAR INCIDENTS OF WORRY, NOT INCLUDING DAILY ISSUES WITH MY VEHICLE. ONE WAS THE WINTER OF 2018 AND ONE WAS THE FALL OF 2018. WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH MY FORD IS THINGS SUCH AS, GETTING STUCK ON HILLS WHEN IT SNOWS BECAUSE MY CAR CANNOT GET OUT OF FIRST GEAR TO MOVE. WHEN DRIVING, EVEN ON FLAT AREAS, IT WILL CHUG AND JOLT AS YOU TRY TO ACCELERATE AND GET OUT OF FIRST GEAR GOING INTO SECOND. THERE ARE ALSO TIMES WHEN IT GETS LOUD AS IF IT IS STRUGGLING TO MOVE OR PARTS ARE GIVING OUT. I HAVE HAD A CHIP IN MY CAR REPLACED DUE TO IT LOSING ABILITY TO DRIVE PROPERLY AND INABILITY TO PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE. THIS CAUSED IT TO NEED TO BE FLAT BEDDED TO A DEALER FOR REPAIR. I SPECIFICALLY WORRY ABOUT DRIVING DURING THE WINTER IN THE SNOW AND ICE BECAUSE THE JOLTING ISSUE IS SO BAD I AM AFRAID I WILL GET STUCK ON ANOTHER HILL OR IN ACCIDENT. THIS DOES CAUSE FEAR WHEN I AM DRIVING AS TO WHAT MAY HAPPEN WHEN THE WEATHER GETS BAD OUTSIDE AND NOT KNOWING HOW MY CAR WILL RESPOND AND DRIVE.
LATE IN THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY 2018 I CAME OUT TO MY CAR ON A RAINY FRIDAY AND WHEN I TURNED ON MY VEHICLE THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS BEGAN TO OPERATE ERRATICALLY AND PERSISTENTLY WITH NO ABILITY TO CONTROL THEM AS THE DRIVER. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED FOR OVER A WEEK AND THE WIPERS WOULD OPERATE UNPREDICTABLY AND EVEN WHEN THE CAR WAS FULLY SHUT OFF INCLUDING THE IGNITION POWER. THIS IS A SERIOUS HAZARD CAUSED BY A KNOWN FAULTY PART ON THIS MODEL OF CAR THAT IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO SHORTING OUT.
ON FEBRUARY 19, 2018, I WAS DRIVING MY 2014 FORD FOCUS (VIN [XXX]) IN SUGAR LAND, TX.WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE I STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION.THERE WAS ONE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT.ONCE THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I SLOWLY ACCELERATED.WHILE I WAS ACCELERATING, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED GEARS SO HARD THAT IT ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME.THE TRANSMISSION BANGED INTO GEAR VERY HARD. I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS VEHICLE HAS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT WHICH IS CAUSING THIS SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD. ON FEBRUARY 21, 2018 I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HELFMANN FORD IN STAFFORD, TX. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE WOULD BE ABLE TO LOOK AT MY TRANSMISSION FOR 2 MONTHS DUE TO THEIR TECHNICIAN BEING OUT STARTING MONDAY. I THEN WENT TO LEGACY FORD DEALERSHIP LOCATED AT 27225 SOUTH WEST FREEWAY ROSENBERG TX 77471.I MET WITH A SERVICE ADVISOR WHO IDENTIFIED HIMSELF AS JOHN SMITH. I REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO THE SERVICE ADVISOR ON FEBRUARY 21, 2018 AT APPROXIMATELY 10:30AM.I ADVISED HIM THAT I WAS CONCERNED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD A MANUFACTURING DEFECT THAT WAS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BE A SAFETY HAZARD.HE INDICATED THAT THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL VEHICLE. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW. IT HAS NEVER SUFFERED ANY UNUSUAL WEAR OR TEAR AND HAS NEVER BEEN MISUSED.ADDITIONALLY, I HAVE HAD IT INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP FOR THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AT LEAST THREE TIMES.I AM CONCERNED THAT THE ISSUE IS NOT BEING REPORTED TO NHTSA AND THAT THE AGENCY IS NOT AWARE OF THE SAFETY HAZARD ASSOCIATED WITH THIS VEHICLE. ADDITIONAL TRANSMISSION ISSUES INCLUDE VIOLENT SHUDDERING FROM A COMPLETE STOP AND WHILE DRIVING ON INCLINE. THE TRANSMISSION WILL BECOME STUCK IN FIRST AND SECOND GEARS AND WHINED UP BUT NOT SHIFT ANY FURTHER WITHOUT COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP TO "RESET" THE TRANSMISSION. *TR
MY CAR AS MOST EVERY OTHER PERSON I KNOW WITH THE "DPS6" DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION SUFFERS FROM THE JERKING AND SHUDDERING WHEN SHIFTING. SLIPPED GEARS WHEN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND SOMETIMES IT CATCHES WHEN THE RPM IS HIGH AND LITERALLY LUNGES THE CAR FORWARD FORCING ME TO SLAM MY BREAKS TO THE FLOOR. I AM THE 2ND OWNER OF THE VEHICLE AND HAVE HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPAIRED ONCE ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND I AM SEEING THE SYMPTOMS ALL COME BACK WITH TIME. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE THINKING IT WOULD BE SAFE FOR MY 3 YEAR OLD AND I AM RELUCTANT TO TAKE IT ON THE HIGHWAY WITH HER KNOWING THE ISSUE IS ONGOING AND WIDESPREAD, HAVING ALL OF THE KNOWN ISSUES MYSELF AND IT CONTINUES AFTER THE "FIX" HAS BEEN PERFORMED. CAR PURCHASED USED IN FEB 2018. 60,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. AFTER A FEW DAYS I NOTICED THE CAR WOULD SHUDDER WHENEVER I ACCELERATED FROM A STOP SIGN OR LIGHT. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALER (BATTLEFIELD FORD, MANASSAS VA) WHO TEST DROVE IT AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG AND THAT, IN FACT, "IT WAS THE BEST DRIVING 2014 FOCUS HE (THE SERVICE MANAGER) HAD EVER TEST DRIVEN." THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. A YEAR AND A HALF LATER THE PROBLEM REMAINS. NOW I SEE THERE'S AN INVESTIGATION AND THAT FORD KNEW ABOUT THIS SHUDDERING PROBLEM SINCE EVEN BEFORE PUTTING THE MODEL OUT FOR SALE.
MY 2014 FORD FOCUS (24,000 MILES) STALLED IN TRAFFIC. IT HAD NO DASH LIGHTS BUT THE VEHICLE DASHBOARD DISPLAYED THE MESSAGE "ENGINE FAILURE". AFTER TOWING TO THE FORD DEALER, THE SERVICE ADVISOR STATED THAT THE FUEL VACUUM PURGE VALVE WAS DEFECTIVE AND HAD CAUSED A DEFORMATION OF THE FUEL TANK. HE ALSO SAID THAT HIS DEALERSHIP WAS SEEING SEVERAL OF THESE DEFECTS EACH WEEK. HE MENTIONED THAT A NOTICE HAD BEEN ISSUED TO DEALERS BY FORD ABOUT THE DEFECT, BUT THAT FORD HAD NOT RECALLED THE VEHICLES FOR THE DEFECT AND THAT REPAIRS WOULD BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNERS. THE ESTIMATED COST WAS $1800. OF COURSE, THIS IS AN ENGINEERING AND PRODUCTION DEFECT CAUSED BY FORD AND REPRESENTS A SAFETY ISSUE. A RECALL SHOULD BE ORDERED IMMEDIATELY.
I WAS DRIVING LAST FEBRUARY, 2018, LOW ON GAS. ABOUT TO PULL OFF INTERSTATE TO REFUEL. LESS THAN A MILE FROM EXIT, ENGINE CUT OFF COMPLETELY. NO INDICATOR LIGHT EVER CAME ON THAT I WAS LOW ON FUEL. I PULLED OVER INTO EMERGENCY LANE. WHILE WAITING FOR TOW OPERATOR, MY FOCUS WAS SIDE SWIPED BY A TRACTOR TRAILER AND TOTALED BY CAR INSURANCE. LUCKILY, NEITHER MYSELF NOR BROTHER WERE INJURED. WE WERE IN VEHICLE. IT WAS TERRIBLE. I JUST WANTED SOMEONE WITH NHTSA TO KNOW. I DO NOT BELIEVE I HAD A TWO LITER ENGINE IN THE THING, WHICH IS WHAT THE INCOMPLETE RECALL INDICATES.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated while reversing at 3 MPH, the contact heard an abnormal sound coming from the vehicle. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was diagnosed by the dealer, and it was confirmed that the clutch shudder was the cause of the failure. The vehicle was repaired but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the vehicle was not under warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 50,001.
WHILE FILLING UP MY GAS TANK IF BELOW HALF WAY MY CAR WILL NOT START. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN LISTED ONLINE MANY TIMES AND IT SEEMS LIKE FORD REFUSES TO RECALL ALL 2014 FORD FOCUS. PLACED CAR IN PARK EXITED CAR AT WHICH TIME THE CAR BEGAN TO MOVE IN THE REVERSE CATCHING MY LEG IN THE DOOR UPON MY EXIT CAR STARTED TO MOVE AT WHICH TIME I WAS DRAGGED UNDER THE CAR. MY LEFT LEG & KNEE STOPPED THE CAR FROM CONTINUING TO MOVE WHICH TRAPPED ME PARTWAY UNDER THE CAR. WITH WHEEL WELL RESTING ON MY LOWER BODY. EARLIER IN THE TRIP I HAD DIFFICULTY MOVING THE GEAR SHIFT INTO PARK AS IT SEEMED TO GET STUCK AND MAKE IT DIFFICULT TO TRANSITION INTO PARK. THIS CAUSED A PAINFUL AND DIFFICULT ACCIDENT. HAS THIS TYPE OF ACCIDENT BEEN REPORTED BEFORE. HAVE REPORTS OF THIS TYPE OF SITUATION OCCURRED OR BEEN REPORTED AS A PROBLEM?.THIS NEEDS TO BE FULLY LOOKED INTO SO THAT NO ONE ELSE SUFFERS THE PAIN THAT I HAVE ENDURED.
THE HORN QUIT SOUNDING UPON ACTIVATION BY THE HORN RELAY SWITCH ON THE STEERING WHEEL. IT DOES NOT SOUND WHEN PRESSING THE REMOTE TWICE TO CONFIRM IT'S LOCKED UP. IT DOES NOT SOUND WHEN THE ALARM IS ACTIVATED. THE FUSE IS OK. THE HORN RELAY DOES NOT CLICK WHEN HORN RELAY SWITCH ON STEERING WHEEL IS DEPRESSED. THE WIRES ARE ALL INTACT AND CONNECTED. I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALER. THEY SAID IT WOULD COST $200-300 AND NEED THE CAR FOR 2 DAYS. ACCORDING TO ALL THE COMPLAINTS AND CONCERNS ABOUT THIS ISSUE ON VARIOUS WEBSITES, THOUSANDS OF OWNERS OF FORD FOCUS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SAME RESPONSE FROM THE DEALERSHIP.

I BOUGHT FORD FOCUS 2014 SE BUT I FOUND OUT IT HAS BIG TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS THIS CAR HAS ONLY 87000 MILES.I TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP THEY TESTED THEY SAID IT NEED TO REPLACE NEW FAMILY CLUTCH BUT NO UNDER WARRANTY COVERAGE .IT COST $1,750 THAT I HAVE TO PAY FROM MY POCKET.IT VERY BAD SO WITHOUT CAR I THINK I'M GOING TO LOSE MY JOB IT'S VERY BAD STUFF I HAVE EVER SEEN BEFORE.
WHEN YOU ARE ACCELERATION FROM FIRST TO SECOND AND SOMETIMES SECOND TO THIRD THE CAR SHAKES VERY VERY BADLY AND MAKES IT HARD TO ACCELERATE.
THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND JERKING WHILE I DRIVE. THE CLUTCH WAS REPLACED WHILE UNDER WARRANTY. BUT TRANSMISSION STILL ACTED THE SAME. NOW FORD WON'T AGREE TO FIX IT. TRANSMISSION IS UNDER RECALL #14M02 FOR TCM NOT THE CLUTCH AND FORD TELL ME I HAVE TO FIX CLUTCH. WHEN THEY REPLACED CLUTCH BEFORE THEY TOLD ME IT WOULD TAKE SEVERAL MONTHS TO GET IT BROKE IN TO THE WAY I DRIVE AND IT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY FOR 150,000 MILES . WELL I WAITED COUPLE OF MONTHS AND TOOK IT BACK. FORD SAID IT WAS PAST 30 DAY WARRANTY AND I HAD TO PAY TO FIX IT. FORD SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR REPLACING CLUTCH SINCE IT NEVER DROVE ANY DIFFERENT AFTER THEY REPLACED CLUTCH. THE CAR HAS BEEN AT AUTOMOTICE GROUP OF JASPER ALABAMA FOR 3 WEEKS AND I HAVEN'T GOT ANY RESPONSE FROM FORD EXCEPT TO CONTACT SERVICE MANAGER AT JASPER. FORD COMPANY HAS NOT EVEN CALL SERVICE MANAGER. SERVICE MANAGE HAS NOT HEARD FROM FORD.
MY STEERING LOCKED UP WHEN I PULLED AWAY FROM MY HOUSE, BUT I ORIGINALLY THOUGHT IT WAS JUST THE UNUSUALLY COLD MORNING. WHILE THE CAR WAS STILL DRIVEABLE, IT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, ESPECIALLY DURING TURNS. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR IN, I WAS TOLD THE ENTIRE RACK AND PINION STEERING HAD TO BE REPLACED, WHICH COSTS AROUND $2,000. THIS PROBLEM, CAUSED BY A SENSOR THAT CANNOT BE REPLACED ON ITS OWN BUT INSTEAD MUST HAVE THE ENTIRE STEERING REPLACED, HAS BEEN NOTED BY FORD AS A REOCCURRING PROBLEM TO THE POINT THAT MEMOS WERE SENT TO DEALERS TELLING THEM TO EXPECT CARS AT AROUND 50,000 MILES TO COME IN WITH THIS PROBLEM. MY CAR IS AT 52,000 MILES.

I STARTED MY VEHICLE AFTER I DROPPED MY 3 MONTH OLD OFF AT DAYCARE, IT WAS PARKED AND MY DASHBOARD WAS FLASHING "TRANSMISSION FAULT- SERVICE NOW". I TOOK IT TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OF MY FORD DEALER, AND THEY SAID IT IS THE TCM MODULE -- THE SAME PART THAT IS THE SUBJECT OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BECAUSE EVERYONE WHO HAS THIS ISSUE SAYS IT RECURS AFTER FORD RE PROGRAMS THE TCM, WHICH DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM WHICH GETS PROGRESSIVELY WORSE, OFTEN LOSING POWER ON THE HIGHWAY OR THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
