I RECEIVED NOTICE OF AN "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL" FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY IN JUNE 2015. I DRIVE 100 TO 150 MILES A DAY FOR WORK. THE DEALERSHIP IS INSTRUCTED NOT TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP UNLESS THERE IS A PROBLEM. THE CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED AT LEAST THREE TIMES SINCE JUNE FOR UNRELATED PROBLEMS. SAFETY IS SO IMPORTANT THAT I RECEIVED A REMINDER NOTICE IN NOVEMBER. YET, THE DEALERSHIP IS UNABLE TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP UNTIL THEY CAN PROVE A PROBLEM EXISTS. I HAVE WRITTEN TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER SUPPORT (SEE DOCUMENTS ATTACHED) ONLY TO RECEIVE THE SAME RESPONSE. FORD SAYS THERE ARE LIMITED SUPPLIES OF PARTS AVAILABLE. THE PURPOSE OF THIS COMPLAINT IS TO PREVENT AN INJURY. FORDS NOTICE IS CLEAR THAT A CAR MAY STALL OR STUTTER WHILE DRIVING, WHICH CAN LEAD TO A CRASH. TO PREVENT A CRASH, INJURY OR DEATH FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD REPLACE DEFECTIVE FUEL PUMPS BEFORE THEY FAIL. YOUR ATTENTION AND INTERVENTION MAY SAVE LIVES. SINCERELY, *TR
HAVING SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION IT IS SHUDDERING HESITATING JERKING SURGING. HAS BEEN TO THE SHOP APPROX. 8 TIMES NOW AND ONLY HAS 12500 MILES ON IT PROBLEM STARTED AT 5000. THE SHOP KEPT TELLING ME IT WAS NORMAL WELL IT GOT WORSE WAS ALMOST T-BONED IN AN INTERSECTION WHEN IT DECIDED TO HESITATE IN THE MIDDLE, TOOK BACK TO DEALER AGAIN THEY KEPT IT FOR 2 DAYS THEY WERE GETTING READY TO SEND IT BACK TO ME WHEN IT FINALLY ACTED UP ON THEM, THEY ALMOST WRECKED IT IN AN INTERSECTION AS WELL. THEY REPROGRAMMED IT SEVERAL TIMES, PUT A TCM IN IT WHICH MADE IT A LITTLE BETTER FOR AWHILE NOW ITS DOING IT AGAIN THE DEALER IS FINALLY GOING TO PUT CLUTCHES IN THE TRANSMISSION BUT WAS TOLD IT WILL BE A FEW MONTHS TO GET THE PART SINCE THEY JUST DID THE 16TH REDESIGN OF THE CLUTCHES. THE NHTSA NEEDS TO GET OFF THEIR BUTTS AND RECALL THE FOCUS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED ITS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE
2014 FORD FOCUS SE WITH 6 SPEED AUTOMATIC DUAL CLUTCH (DDG) TRANSMISSION, VEHICLE IS 15 MONTHS OLD WITH APPROXIMATELY 16,600 MILES ON IT. THE TRANSMISSION HAS DEVELOPED SEVERE SHUDDERING HESITATION AND CLUNKING ESPECIALLY IN LOW GEARS AT LOW SPEEDS. VEHICLE ACCELERATION IS UNPREDICTABLE AT LOW SPEEDS AND MAY POSE A SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO LOSS OF POWER OR POSSIBLE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION. VEHICLE HAS BEEN SERVICED BY THE ORIGINAL SELLING DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES UNDER WARRANTY WITH NO POSITIVE OUTCOMES. DEALERSHIP HAS RECOMMENDED THAT THE TRANSMISSION BE REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE AND SERVICED INTERNALLY, BUT THEY STATE THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FURNISH THE APPROPRIATE REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR OVER A MONTH.
THE CAR WAS DRIVEN BY MY DAUGHTER DRIVING STRAIGHT DOWN A RESIDENTIAL STREET AT APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH.MY DAUGHTER HEAR A LOUD POP SOUND AND THE FRONT PASSENGER TIRE SUDDENLY BLEW OUT, CAUSING SEVERE RIM DAMAGE, INNER AND OUTER TIE ROD DAMAGE, DENT TO THE INNER FENDER, AND THE HUB CAP SPLIT. THERE IS A HUGE GAPING FLAP ON OF THE SIDE OF THE TIRE. THE TIRE IS MADE BY CONTINENTAL SOLD BY FORD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED, WHEN THE GEAR SHIFTER WAS SHIFTED TO THE DRIVE POSITION, THE VEHICLE HESITATED BEFORE IT ACCELERATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPROGRAMMED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,500.
TAKATA RECALL . I HAVE A 2014 FORD FOCUS BOUGHT MAY OF 14, TODAY I WAS DRIVING DOWN ROAD MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON & MY TRANSMISSION STOPPED PULLING. PUT IT ON COMPUTER AT AUTO ZONE IT SAYS CLUTCH SENSOR. WON'T EVEN GO IN GEAR NOW. I HAVE 73,000 MILES 13,000 PAST WARRANTY. I AM NOT HAPPY. ALSO MY DRIVERS SEATBELT SOMETIMES WON'T LATCH.
AT AROUND 12000 MILES, NOTICED UNSETTLING SHUDDERING OF TRANSMISSION GOING UPHILL. HAD FORD DEALER INSPECT AT 14000 MILES AT WHICH TIME THEY REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AND I WAS TOLD TO DRIVE IT FOR 1000 MILES TO SEE IF THAT FIXED IT. IT STARTED SHUDDERING AGAIN IN FIRST GEAR AT 15000 MILES. I WAS TOLD THAT IT NEEDED A CLUTCH, BUT THERE WAS A BACKORDER LIST FOR THESE CLUTCHES OF 4-6 WEEKS. I AM DRIVING IN FEAR OF WORSE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS ON THE WAY THAT MIGHT CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO PROPERTY AND PEOPLE. LETTER FROM CONGRESSMAN NEUGEBAUER ON BEHALF OF CONSTITUENTS OF THE 19TH DISTRICT OF TEXAS RE FORD SAFETY ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS SE WITH THE OPTIONAL DPS6 POWER SHIFT TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION EXHIBITED A SEVERE, ERRATIC MOVEMENT, ALONG WITH SHUDDERING/JERKING, WITH THE MOST SEVERE BEING WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE, PARK OR DRIVE ON FOUR DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. ON TWO OF THOSE OCCASIONS, IT HAPPENED WHEN THE CONSUMER WAS ACCELERATING FROM A COMPLETE STOP AND THE VEHICLE LURCHED BACKWARDS; ONCE HITTING A PEDESTRIAN AND LEAVING SCRATCHES ON THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE WITH A DENTED LICENSE PLATE. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN AND APPLYING THE BRAKE DID NOT SLOW THE VEHICLE DOWN. LAST YEAR, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND THE CONSUMER HAD TO HIT A CURB, IN ORDER TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE HAD NUMEROUS TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE LEAKS WHERE SEALS HAD TO BE REPLACED. FIVE DAYS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO PARK WHILE IN THE MIDST OF DRIVING 65 MPH/ THE VEHICLE SHOOK, AND REVVED AND THE RP'S WERE EXTREMELY HIGH, THEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SLOW DOWN WITHOUT ANY ASSISTANCE FROM THE CONSUMER. THE VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP, AN ERROR MESSAGE APPEARED THAT SAID TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK. *JB

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,475. *TT CONSUMER STATED VEHICLE SHUDDERS ON ACCELERATION, INCONSISTENT ACCELERATION NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. DEALERSHIP REPROGRAMMED & CM. ON MARCH 2016 VEHICLE SHUDDERS ON ACCELERATION INCONSISTENT ACCELERATION. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE CLUTCH. ON AUGUST 2016 RECALLED TRANSMISSION DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE CLUTCH. IN AUGUST OF 2016 RECALLED TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. ON MAY 2017 VEHICLE SHUDDERS ON ACCELERATION: INCONSISTENT ACCELERATION AND NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE CLUTCH. ON FEB. 2019 VEHICLE SHUDDERS ON ACCELERATION INCONSISTENT ACCELERATION NO ENGINE LIGHT. DEALERSHIP REPLACED CLUTCH. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS NOT ILLUMINATED DURING ANY OF THESE SITUATIONS. EACH REPLACED CLUTCH HAS FAILED TO WORK SAFELY AND PREDICTABLY. THE VEHICLE SHUDDERS AND HESITATES AT ALL SPEEDS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM ONE GEAR TO THE NEXT. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT PREDICTABILITY AND RELIABILITY ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED EACH CLUTCH. THE MANUFACTURER EXTENDED MY WARRANTY BUT WILL NOT BUY THE VEHICLE BACK. A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT EXISTS FOR THIS PROBLEM.*JB

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.

The contact took the vehicle to local dealer and had the recall repair completed. The contact stated that two years after the recall repair, while driving at an undisclosed speed speed, the vehicle independently shifted into neutral(N). The contact stated that the transmission was hot and a message to “Pull Over” was displayed. The contact was able to park on the side of the road for 15 minutes and then continued driving to her destination. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the clutch plates and an unknown sensor to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but experience the failure two years after the second repair. The contact took the vehicle a third time to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the sensor to be reset. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The contact took the vehicle back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing an unknown sensor replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure 15-minutes after the repair. The contact continued to drive to her residence. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving the vehicle at approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle shuddered like the transmission was about to shift; however, the vehicle had an automatic transmission. The contact stated while driving at unknown speeds the vehicle was slow to accelerate and while the accelerator pedal was depressed the vehicle drove sluggishly. The contact placed the car in park and waited 15 minutes, then when the vehicle was shifted into drive the failure was not replicated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer once and was diagnosed with a transmission module failure. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer several times and was diagnosed with the same failure and repaired. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken to a different dealer several times and was diagnosed with the same failure and repaired. The failure recurred and the vehicle was taken to the initial dealer where it was diagnosed with a clutch assembly failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.
A FEW WEEKS AFTER WE PURCHASED A NEW 2014 FORD FOCUS IT SHUDDERED A LITTLE A FEW TIMES UPON STARTING FROM A DEAD STOP. DEALER SAID CAR HAD A MANUAL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION & THIS WAS NORMAL. THE CAR WAS SEARCHING FOR A GEAR & AFTER A BREAK IN PERIOD IT WOULD STOP. AROUND 7,000 MILES WHILE THE CAR APPEARED TO BE RUNNING OKAY A SERVICE TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON WITH A RED TRIANGLE. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OFF INTO A PARKING LOT. I TURNED THE CAR OFF TO SEE IF THE MESSAGE WOULD STILL APPEAR. IT DIDN'T BUT ALTHOUGH THE GEAR SHIFT WENT INTO REVERSE THE CAR WOULDN'T MOVE BACKWARD EVEN AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. AFTER THE TOW TRUCK ARRIVED IT DID BACK UP BUT I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE IT THE 55 MILES TO MY HOME. TOW TRUCK DRIVER COULD SEE THAT THERE WERE WARNING MESSAGES BUT COULDN'T GET THE COMPUTER TO SHOW THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE WARNINGS. AFTER IT WAS TOWED HOME I TESTED IT AGAIN & IT WENT BACKWARDS OKAY. I DID TAKE IT TO THE DEALER WHO ADMITTED THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM & SUPPOSEDLY FIXED IT. THEN WHILE GOING FROM STORE TO STORE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING THE CAR STARTED TO SHUDDER, PRETTY VIOLENTLY NOW, UPON ACCELERATION FROM DEAD STOPS AT ALMOST EVERY RED LIGHT. I THOUGHT THE CAR WASN'T GOING TO MAKE IT THROUGH A FEW INTERSECTIONS ESPECIALLY ON HILLS. SINCE THEN THE CAR HAS ONLY SHUDDERED ONCE. SO BECAUSE IT'S SO INTERMITTENT IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER WHILE THIS IS HAPPENING. I ALSO SHARE THE SAME FEAR THAT OTHERS HAVE ABOUT PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC OR ACCELERATING TO PASS BECAUSE I ALSO EXPERIENCE LOSS OF POWER ALMOST DAILY. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH IT DROPS DOWN A GEAR OR CAN'T KICK INTO A GEAR. THESE TRANSMISSION ISSUES ARE DANGEROUS & AFTER READING MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS IT APPEARS THAT FORD IS BRUSHING THEM OFF. HAVE HAD OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE COMPUTER AS WELL. OUR FIRST NEW CAR & IT'S HEARTBREAKING TO THINK WE HAVE A LEMON. THINKING OF CONTACTING AN ATTORNEY.
VEHICLE QUIT ACCELERATING WHILE TRYING TO MAKE A TURN INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. ENGINE DIDN'T DIE BUT COASTED FOR 2-4 SECONDS. SEVERE TRANSMISSION SHUDDER AND GRINDING IN SEPARATE INCIDENTS. HAS BEEN TO DEALER 4 TIMES AND THEY CAN'T DETERMINE THE PROBLEM.
TRANSMISSION IS DEFECTIVE. FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE VEHICLE STALLED WHILE TURNING LEFT. ALMOST GOT HIT BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC
WHEN THE CAR ACCELERATES FROM A STOP, THE CAR SHUDDERS AND VIBRATES AND HAS A RATTLING NOISE. I HAVE TAKEN THIS CAR THREE TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM. THE FORD DEALER HAS TOLD ME THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE FOCUS. THEY TOLD ME THAT IT'S AN AUTOMATIC WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION EXHIBITED HESITATION IN A SEVERE JERKING MOTION. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. AFTER RESTARTING, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO SHIFT GEARS AND THE LOW TIRE PRESSURE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHERE THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE WAS RESET EACH TIME. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE AND CONFIRMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION DID NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,361. UPDATED 06/21/16*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, IT NO LONGER HESITATES. HOWEVER, IT BECAME SLOW TO ACCELERATE FROM A SLOW SPEED OR STOPPED. *JS
2014 FORD FOCUS. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE HIGH RPM SYMPTOMS AND TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS WHILE DRIVING. CONSUMER WANTS DEALERSHIP TO BUY BACK VEHICLE. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED IN HIS OPINION, THE VEHICLE WAS STILL NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY AFTER THE DEALER MADE THE REPAIRS. *JB

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, AN ABNORMAL SOUND WAS HEARD FROM THE ENGINE AND THE DRIVER SIDE FOG LIGHT ILLUMINATED INDEPENDENTLY. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE RADIO TURNED ON AND OFF INDEPENDENTLY. THE FAILURES RECURRED CONSTANTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURES WAS NOT FOUND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000.
DESPITE TAKING MY CAR IN MULTIPLE TIMES FOR REPAIR (INCLUDING SOFTWARE UPDATES AND A NEW CLUTCH AT 19466 MILES), THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SHUTTERING, SHAKING, SLIPPING, AND HAS A HESITANT/ DELAYED RESPONSE WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION (E.G. MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN TO CROSS AN INTERSECTION WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC). I FEEL EXTREMELY UNSAFE ESPECIALLY WHEN ACCELERATING TO CROSS AN INTERSECTION BECAUSE THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WILL HAVE A DELAYED RESPONSE TRANSFERRING POWER TO THE REAR WHEELS DESPITE PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR AND WILL CONTINUALLY SHUTTER, SLIP, AND SHAKE WHILE GETTING UP TO SPEED THUS MAKING A SLOW AND UNCERTAIN ACCELERATION. THIS CAN SEVERELY LIMIT MY ABILITY TO MOVE MY CAR OUT OF HARMS WAY.
CAR HAS UNDER 9000 MILES AND BOUGHT BRAND NEW WITH 12 MILES FROM DEALERSHIP 9 MONTHS AGO. DEALERSHIP SAID NOTHING WAS FOUND WRONG DURING SEVERAL TEST DRIVES. EXPERIENCED CRUNCHING/GRINDING SOUND, AND SLIPPING DURING ACCELERATION FROM STANDSTILL, JUMPING/JITTERING EFFECT UNTIL SPEED WAS OBTAINED. MADE TRIP TO DEALERSHIP ON PERSONAL TIME WITH THE SIGNIFICANT OTHER. MET UP WITH SERVICE DEPT. DID FURTHER RESEARCH AND COME TO FIND OUT THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS BEING FILED AGAINST FORD MOTOR COMPANY ABOUT THIS VERY ISSUE. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR LONG DISTANCES OR LONG PERIODS OF TIME FOR FEAR OF MECHANICAL FAILURE. THE DEALERSHIP RESET THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE TO "LEARN MY DRIVING HABITS" BUT THAT DID NOT WORK. I WAS TOLD TO DRIVE IT FOR 500-1000 MILES BEFORE IT WOULD FIX ITSELF. IT IS STILL DOING IT AFTER THE TCM RESET. I AM TAKING IT BACK AGAIN BECAUSE IT IS NOT SAFE OR RELIABLE TO DRIVE.
BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW AND EVERY TIME I ACCELERATE THEIR IS A SHUTTER WITH THE TRANSMISSION. IT FEELS LIKE IT CANNOT DETERMINE WHAT GEAR IS NEXT OR WHAT GEAR IT IS GOING TO SHIFT TOO. HAPPENS WHEN I ACCELERATE AND ALSO WHEN I SLOW DOWN AND THEN TRY TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. I WAS HOPING THAT THIS WASN'T SERIOUS BUT READING ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS, IT SEEMS LIKE IT CAN BE THE SAME OR SIMILAR ISSUE.

THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS CAR IS ABSOLUTELY AWFUL AND DANGEROUS. FORD TRIES TO SAY "SLIGHT SHUTTERING IS A NORMAL CHARACTERISTIC OF THE TRANSMISSION" AND THAT IT'S JUST SOMETHING TO GET USE TO. IT'S UNBELIEVABLE THAT THEY ARE SAYING THIS. THE CAR IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHEN IT IS GOING TO SHUDDER OR HAVE DELAYED ACCELERATION. WHENEVER YOU COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND YOU GO TO ACCELERATE THE CAR BUCKS SHAKES AND STUTTERS TO THE POINT THAT IT'S JUST PLAIN EMBARRASSING AND NOT DRIVEABLE. YOU CAN ABSOLUTELY FORGET BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC BECAUSE IT FEELS LIKE THE CAR IS GOING TO EXPLODE. ONE TOP OF ALL OF THAT IT CAN'T EVEN MAKE IT UP A PARKING GARAGE. IT WAS TERRIFYING WHEN I FOUND THIS OUT AND ALMOST CAUSED MANY ACCIDENTS. WHEN YOU GO TO PULL ONTO THE HIGHWAY OR TURN IN FRONT OF A CAR THE FOCUS WILL STUTTER AND STALL AND ALMOST CAUSED MANY ACCIDENTS THAT WAY AS WELL. ALL FORD DOES TO FIX THESE ISSUES IS RESET THE COMPUTER AND SAY THE CAR "NEEDS TO RELEARN YOUR DRIVING PATTERNS, AND NOT TO BRING IT BACK FOR AT LEAST 500 MILES." THIS IS A COMPLETE LIE AND THE CAR DRIVES GREAT FOR A WEEK AND THEN GOES BACK TO BEING AWFUL. THEN WHEN THE PROBLEM CONTINUES THEY WILL JUST SAY THEY NEED TO REPLACE PARTS BUT IT'S THE SAME AWFUL STOCK PARTS. WE DIDN'T WANT TO DEAL WITH DRIVING THIS CAR ANYMORE AND BRINGING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP ALL THE TIME. WE TRADED IT IN FOR A SUBARU CROSSTREK AND LOST A TON OF MONEY, BUT IT WAS THE BEST DECISION WE MADE. I FEEL TERRIBLE FOR WHOEVER IS GOING TO END UP BUYING THAT DANGEROUS CAR. MY VEHICLE WAS IN THE SHOP A TOTAL OF 57 DAYS SO FAR THIS YEAR, GOT IT BACK ON FRIDAY AFTER A FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER CAME TO LOOK AT IT. THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPLICATE ANY ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION, BUT WOULD NOT CERTIFY IT AS "SAFE." TODAY, I WAS DRIVING AT 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE ENGINE REVVED HIGH AND THE DASH DISPLAY SHOWED I WAS IN PARK. IT LIMPED TO A STOP ON THE HIGHWAY THEN FLASHED "TRANSMISSION NOT IN PARK P" BEFORE IT SHUT DOWN. AFTER CALMING MY NERVES JUST A BIT, I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. I WAS ABOUT 4 MILES FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT (SLOWLY) TO THEM. I WAS ABLE TO SNAP A PHOTO SHOWING THE VEHICLE IN PARK DOING 65MPH WITH AN RPM OF 3500. HOWEVER, FROM PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE, THIS IS NOT "PROOF" IF THE ISSUE IS NOT DUPLICATED BY FORD DIRECTLY. SO TO DATE AT 19,970 MILES, THE VEHICLE HAS WENT OUT OF GEAR 4 TIMES. THE VEHICLE STOPPING ON A HIGHWAY BY GOING INTO REVERSE AND PARK IS NOT A SAFE CONDITION THAT COULD LEAD TO A CRASH.
I PURCHASED MY 2014 FORD FOCUSE SE HB IN FEBRUARY OF 2015. AROUND 13,000 MILES THE CAR BEGAN ERRATICALLY SHIFTING IN SECOND AND THIRD GEAR WHILE DRIVING. HAVING TROUBLE STOPPING AND GOING AGAIN AT STOP LIGHTS. AFTER WAITING 8 WEEKS TO GET A "NEW" CLUTCH, THE NEXT DAY THE CAR WAS GRINDING HORRIBLY WHEN TURNING. TOOK IT BACK IN AND THEY SAID IT WAS "FIXED" NOW. THE CAR IS STILL HAVING SHIFTING PROBLEMS AND DRIVES VERY HARD ON BOTH CITY AND HIGHWAY. I HAVE NOTICED THE CAR LUNGING FORWARD WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP, MAKING ME VERY UNEASY FOR MY SAFETY IN THIS VEHICLE. WHEN I ASKED THEM TO FIX IT AGAIN THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO, THAT THEY DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR.

I TOOK CAR IN FOR SERVICE TODAY AND FOUND OUT THAT THE CLUTCH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED (IT'S AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION) I HAVE READ ABOUT THESE CARS AND THAT MOST OF THEM HAVE FAULTY TRANSMISSIONS AND THAT FORD ISN'T DOING ANYTHING ABOUT THIS. FORD, APPARENTLY, KNEW THAT THIS TRANSMISSION IS FAULTY AND STILL LET DEALERS SELL THEM. HOW DO I JOIN A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST THEM?

AFTER TWO REPAIRS FOR RANDOM LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER, WITH TWO REPLACEMENTS OF HIGH-VOLTAGE WIRE HARNESS, CAR CONTINUES TO DISPLAY "STOP SAFELY NOW" WARNING ON DASH AND LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER. I PURCHASED THE CAR ON 1/13/2015 AS A FORD CERTIFIED USED VEHICLE WITH 6,340 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. ON THE WAY HOME THE CAR LURCHED IN TRAFFIC NEARLY REAR ENDING A CAR COMING TO A STOP IN FRONT OF ME AND HAD A LOUD CRUNCHING NOISE. I WAS ABLE TO STOP, AND IT APPEARED TO FUNCTION WELL ENOUGH TO CONTINUE HOME ALTHOUGH IT DID NOT HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF POWER. NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON BUT I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO REPORT THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD AT THIS TIME THAT THIS "WAS SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN" AND THAT THIS WAS A "SPECIAL TYPE" OF TRANSMISSION. I DID NOT BELIEVE THIS AND ASKED TO HAVE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE CAR LOOKED AT. ON 1/20/15 IT WAS FOUND THAT SOMETHING HAD "FAILED" IN THE AUTOMATIC CLUTCH AND THAT THE CAR WOULD NEED A NEW CLUTCH. I GOT THE CAR BACK ON 1/22/15 WITH A SET OF INSTRUCTIONS FOR "GREEN CLUTCH BRAKE-IN". THE CAR APPEARED TO BE FUNCTIONING PROPERLY UNTIL APPROXIMATELY 12,000 MILES WHEN I STARTED TO NOTICE SIGNIFICANT SHUDDERING AND REDUCED POWER WHEN ACCELERATING IN TRAFFIC, THIS WAS ESPECIALLY SCARY WHEN TRYING TO MERGE WITH FREEWAY TRAFFIC. ON 5/19/15 THE CAR WAS VERIFIED TO HAVE AN ISSUE AND THE DEALERSHIP REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE TO CORRECT THE SHUDDERING. THIS APPEARED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM TEMPORARILY, BUT THE CAR BEGAN TO SHUDDER AGAIN AND ALSO APPEARED TO POP OUT OF GEAR WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE UP A HILL. THE DEALERSHIP REPROGRAMMED THE TCM AGAIN ON 10/13/15 AND DETERMINED IT SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO. THEN 10/27/15 WHILE TRAVELING AT 75 MPH ON THE FREEWAY WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON, THE TRANSMISSION EXPERIENCED ONLY WHAT CAN BE REFERRED TO AS "CATASTROPHIC FAILURE" AT 21,500 MILES. WE ARE STILL AWAITING WORD FROM THE DEALERSHIP AS TO HOW THIS IS GOING TO BE FIXED AND IF OR WHEN WE SHOULD GET THE CAR BACK. I HAVE ALL SERVICE RECORD COPIES AVAILABLE.

HAVE CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER CARE, BEEN REFERRED TO FORD REGIONAL MANAGER, AND TOLD, BASED ON OUR SERVICE HISTORY, WE DON'T MEET COMPANY "GUIDELINES" FOR A BUYBACK OR REPLACEMENT. WAS TOLD HE COULD NOT LEGALLY TELL ME WHAT THOSE "GUIDELINES" ARE. THIS IS PLAYING WITH PUBLIC SAFETY. DID NOT USE VEHICLE FOR OVER THREE WEEKS, TRIED IT YESTERDAY, SAME PROBLEM. IT IS BACK AT THE DEALER FOR SERVICING BUT WAS TOLD THEY MIGHT NOT "GET TO ME" FOR A FEW WEEKS. USELESS AS A SAFE MODE OF TRANSPORTATION.

I WAS ALMOST HIT WHEN THE POWER CUT OUT ON HIGHWAY. THEN WHEN I GET IN CITY, THE TRANSMISSION AGAIN LOST POWER, AND I WAS ALMOST HIT, CAR HAD TO SWERVE, THEN JOLTED AND SKIPPED IN INTERSECTION. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO FORD DEALER, THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL AND WERE EXTREMELY RUDE AND NEGATIVE. I TOOK IT TO A SECOND FOR DEALER AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THERE WERE OPEN RECALLS AND THEY REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION AND THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED NEW CLUTCHES. THEY SAID THEY WILL ORDER AND IT COULD TAKE SEVERAL MONTHS. THE REPROGRAMMING MADE THE VEHICLE SIGNIFICANTLY WORSE. UNSAFE. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AGAIN, THEY SAID IT WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO UNTIL THEY GET THE PART. I CONTACTED FORD MANUFACTURE. THEY INFORMED ME THEY WILL CONTACT THE DEALER. IT HAS BEEN TWO MONTHS AND THE DEALER, I HAVE CONTACTED THE DEALER 13 TIMES AND THEY INFORM ME IT WOULD BE SEVERAL MORE MONTHS, I CONTACT FORD MANUFACTURE AND THEY SAID THAT WHAT THERE TELLING ME IS INCORRECT AND THEY WILL CALL THEM. AGAIN, MONTHS INTO DRIVING AND UNSAFE CAR, THAT THEY KNOW IS UNSAFE, TWO DEALERS AND FORD INVOLVED I CANNOT GET ANY HELP EVEN WHEN THEY SAY THE CAR IS BROKEN. SO I'M DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AT LOW SPEED THREE DAYS AGO, TURING LEFT, IN RAIN AND GRAVEL AND THE THE TRANSMISSION SPUTTER, LOSES POWER, THEN JOLTS AND SKIPS INTO THE CURB. DAMAGING MY RIM, TIRE WAS SCRAPED AND MADE MY ALIGNMENT WORSE. I CALLED CSPD TO FILE POLICE REPORT AND NO OTHER PROPERTY OR CURB DAMAGE THEY DO NOT COME OUT. THIS AGAIN SCARED ME AND I SOLD THE CAR LAST NIGHT BECAUSE IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AND I COULD NOT GET FOR TO FIX IT. LOOSING SIGNIFICANT MONETARY TAXES, FEES, PRICE.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW IN OCTOBER 2013 FROM A LOCAL DEALER. IT WAS NOT DISCLOSED TO ME AT THE TIME OF PURCHASED THAT THE TRANSMISSIONS ON THIS CAR WAS ONE THAT WAS EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS AND WAS A KNOWN FACT BY FORD MOTOR CO. I STARTED EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH MY TRANSMISSION A FEW MONTHS AGO THAT HAVE PROGRESSIVELY GOTTEN WORSE: JERKING, NOISES, NOT PROPERLY SHIFTING, LURCHING FORWARD, STALLING. I HAVE RECENTLY LEARNED THAT THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN PRESENT IN THE FORD FIESTA AND FOCUS MODELS FOR A FEW YEARS. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT, ONLY TO FIND OUT WHAT I ALREADY SUSPECTED, THAT I NEED A NEW CLUTCH. ONE WAS ORDERED BUT I WAS GIVEN MY CAR WITH THE DEFECTIVE CLUTCH TO DRIVE UNTIL THE NEW CLUTCH COMES IN (4-6 WEEKS ESTIMATE). I FEEL CHEATED AND UNSAFE. BIG CORPORATE WINS AGAIN. CONSUMERS ARE OUT ON A LIMB. I HAVE FILED A COMPLAINT WITH FORD MOTOR CO.
