FOUND 2 INCHES STANDING WATER IN PASSENGER BACK SEAT ... HAS BEEN INTO DEALER OVER 8 TIMES FOR OVER 40 TOTAL DAYS AND THE CARPET REMAINS WET. NOW CAUSING MOLD. THEY SEND IT OUT TO A SPECIAL WATER REMEDIATION VENDOR AND INSIST THAT THE ISSUE IS CORRECTED BUT WHEN YOU PUT YOUR HAND UNDER THE CARPET, EVEN AFTER IT HAS NOT RAINED FOR A COUPLE WEEKS AND YOUR HAND WILL COME OUT DRIPPING WATER. WITH HOW MANY TIMES THE CARPET HAS BEEN PULLED OUT AND REPLACED IT IS NOW ALL STRETCHED OUT AND PANELS WHERE THEY HAVE GONE INTO THE DOORS AND DASH FALL OFF TRANSMISSION ISSUES WITH SHUDDERING AND LOSING POWER , DEALERSHIP REPAIRED BUT ISSUE IS STARTING AGAIN. LOSES POWER GOING UP VERY SLIGHT HILLS, WILL LUG DOWN ON THE FLAT LIKE IT HAS BEEN DROPPED INTO A LOWER GEAR. NO POWER WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE NAVIGATION HAS GONE OUT AND REQUIRES YET ANOTHER TRIP INTO THE SERVICE CENTER CAR CURRENTLY HAS LESS THEN 8000 MILES ON ODOMETER.
TAKATA RECALL I BOUGHT MY 2014 FORD FOCUS DURING MY FIRST YEAR OF COLLEGE. I STARTED TO NOTICE THE CARS CLUTCH SLIPPING IMMEDIATELY. AFTER PERSISTENTLY TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE ISSUE FOR A YEAR, FORD FINALLY ADMITTED THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE CAR AND THAT THEY WOULD GET ME IN THE LIST FOR A NEW CLUTCH. THEY (I ASSUME INTENTIONALLY) PROLONGED THE PROCESS JUST LONG ENOUGH TO ESCAPE THE LEMON LAW. WITHIN A MONTH OF HAVING MY CLUTCH REPLACED I STARTED TO NOTICE IT SLIPPING. I HAVE NOT HAD THE CLUTCH REPLACED AGAIN BECAUSE I FEEL THERE IS NO POINT. I NEED TO SELL MY CAR AND GET A NEW ONE THAT I FEEL SAFE DRIVING, BUT I AM UPSIDE DOWN ON MY LOAN. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM FORD AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING AT 15 MPH, THE CLUTCH SLIPPED TO DIFFERENT GEARS AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILED TO ENGAGE PROPERLY. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND MADE A GRINDING NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,500. UPDATED 8/27/15*CN
THE TRANSMISSION HAS AN ISSUE THROUGH ALL GEARS WHERE IT SLIPS. BECAUSE OF THIS, YOU CAN'T GET POWER WHEN YOU NEED IT. PASSING VEHICLES AND STARTING FROM A DEAD STOP AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN CAUSES THE CAR TO REV UNTIL THE TRANSMISSION CATCHES UP AND APPLIES POWER TO THE WHEELS. THERE IS A TWO TO THREE SECOND DELAY FROM HITTING THE GAS UNTIL THE POWER REACHES THE WHEELS. THE ENGINE WORKS FINE BECAUSE IT'S REVVING RPM'S AND YOU KNOW THE PROBLEM IS IN THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE YOU CAN FEEL IT SLIPPING LIKE IT'S A MANUAL CAR WITH A BAD CLUTCH. THIS HAPPENS FROM STOP TO GO, AND WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY OR NORMAL STREET WHEN THE SPEED LIMIT CHANGES FROM SLOWER TO FASTER. THE PROBLEM IS MORE PERSISTENT THE WARMER THE CAR IS. WHEN I SEND IT TO THE DEALER FOR THE PROBLEM THEY RESET THE COMPUTER AND THE PROBLEM PERSISTS AFTER 100 MILES OR LESS AFTER THE RESET. THERE IS APPARENTLY NO WAY TO ACTUALLY FIX IT UNLESS THEY CHANGE THE DUEL CLUTCH SYSTEM IN THE TRANSMISSION OUT COMPLETELY AND THEY WILL ONLY DO THIS IF THE SLIPPAGE REACHES A CERTAIN POINT. I FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN PAST THAT POINT FOR A WHILE BUT THE PROCEED TO ONLY RESET THE COMPUTER.
WHILE DRIVING IT FEELS LIKE ENGINE IS FALLING OUT. THE WHOLE CAR VIBRATES. LIKE ITS STALLING OUT WHEN YOU TAKE OFF AND IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO GET UP AND GOING. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO LAKELAND FORD FOR A SEAL KIT THAT WAS BACK ORDERED 6-8 WEEKS IN 2015 IN 2016 I HAD TO HAVE ANOTHER SEAL KIT ALSO BACK ORDERED 6-8 WEEKS THEY DID TRANSMISSION MODULE REPLACEMENT AND MUCH MORE I'VE TAKEN THIS CAR BACK FOR THE SAME ISSUE MULTIPLE TIMES ANDHAVEBEEN TOLD IT'S NOT A LEMON L!
THE VEHICLE HESITATES WHEN DRIVING FROM A COMPLETE STOP AND GOING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. I HAVE AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THIS VEHICLE HAS DONE THIS SINCE THE 1ST WEEK I OWNED IT. THE PROBLEM GETS MUCH WORSE THE LONGER IT IS DRIVEN. AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR OF DRIVING IS WHEN THE HESITATION FEELS MORE LIKE THE VEHICLE EITHER CAN'T SHIFT PROPERLY OR THE ENGINE IS ABOUT TO DIE. WHEN THERE ARE 4 ADULTS IN THE VEHICLE THIS ISSUE IS AMPLIFIED. I HAVE TO TAKE EXTRA CAUTION WHEN ENTERING TRAFFIC FROM A STOPPED POSITION DUE TO THE MAJOR HESITATION WHEN SHIFTING GEARS AND I AM ALWAYS WORRIED WHEN MAKING LEGAL TURNS CROSSING IN FRONT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. LASTLY MY VEHICLE IS GAS NOT ELECTRIC.
CAR WAS BOUGHT NEW BY ME IN AUGUST 2014 WITH 34 MILES ON IT. AT 5,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN SHUTTERING WHEN ACCELERATED FROM A STOP AND NOW SHUTTERS FROM A STOP AND WHEN ACCELERATED IN MOTION. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS ABOUT 14,000 MILES ON IT AND IT IS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE FOR THE CAR TO SHAKE AND SHUTTER WHEN ACCELERATED.
WHEN I AM AT A COMPLETE STOP AND I ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE, MY FORD JERKS RAPIDLY. IN ORDER TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE I HAVE TO PRESS ON THE GAS FORCIBLY IN ORDER TO ACCELERATE TO A NORMAL SPEED LIMIT. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO COMPLAIN TO THE ORGINAL DEALERSHIP METRO FORD ON NOLAND ROAD OF THE ISSUE I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A SHUDDER TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. THE FORD DEALERSHIP WILL NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE AND ALTHOUGH THEY STATED THEY RESET THE ISSUE THEY TRY TO CONVINCE ME THAT IT IS NORMAL WHEN IN FACT IT IS NOT. THIS VEHICLE IS AN EXTREME HAZARD AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE FOR ME AND MY CHILDREN. I AM AFRAID IT WILL STALL AT A BUSY INTERSECTION IN THE FUTURE.
FORD FOCUS HAS HAD TRANSMISSION REPLACED, AND IT STILL SHAKES, JERKS, SHUDDERS, ETC. WHAT FORD KNOWINGLY DID IS OUTRAGEOUS. I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW. THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING ISSUE AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR.
THE CAR SPUTTERS, BUCKS AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THIS BEGAN TO HAPPEN ROUGHLY 6 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR IN FALL OF 2013. IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN TO THIS DAY. IT IS INTERMITTENT BUT EXTREMELY STRESSFUL WHEN DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC OR ON THE FREEWAY. THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN ACCELERATING EITHER OUT OF A STOP OR WHILE TRY TO INCREASE SPEED. FORD HAS ATTEMPTED SEVERAL "FIXES" BUT THE PROBLEM IS NOT RESOLVED.
I WAS DRIVING MY VEHICLE THRU A HOSPITAL PARKING LOT WITH MY FATHER IN THE CAR GOING ABOUT 3-5 MPH. I PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL AND THE ENGINE REVED HIGH BUT CAR DID NOT MOVE. IT WAS AS IF IN NEUTRAL EVEN THOUGH THE CAR WAS IN DRIVE. MADE AN APPT AT THE FORD SERVICE DEPARTMANT, BUT A DAY BEFORE THE APPT I WAS PULLING OUT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD ONTO A MAIN ROAD WHEN IT "HESITATED" SO BADLY THAT I WAS ALMOST TBONED. SERVICE SAID IT NEEDED A SOFTWARE UPDATE. THEY SAID THAT THEY RECORDED SLIPPAGE AND THAT WITH THE UPDATE IT SHOULD BE FINE. THE CAR SINCE THEN HAS CONTINUED TO HESITATE AND SHIFT ROUGHLY. IT ROLLS BACK ON HILLS NOT STOPPING UNTIL EITHER MOMENTUM RUNS OUT OR I PRESS THE BRAKE. IT HAS EVEN GONE BACKWARDS ON A FLAT SURFACE WHILE IDELING. I ALMOST HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE! I HAVE TAKEN IT IN MULTIPLE TIMES-- THEY TELL ME ITS ALL NORMAL THAT I NEED TO LEARN HOW TO DRIVE THE CAR. THAT THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. WHILE AT THE DEALERSHIP EACH TIME SEVERAL OTHER FOCUS OWNERS CAME IN WITH SIMILAR PROBLEMS. THEY REFUSE TO HELP. THEY WANT TO UP MY PAYMENTS BY 100 BUCKS JUST TO SWAP TO A SAFER CAR. I EVEN SPOKE TO A CORPORATE MANAGER. SHE DID NOTHING EXCEPT SPEAK DOWN TO ME. I FINALLY SENT IN THE OFFICIAL NOTICE ABOUT CLAIMING ITS A LEMON. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. *JS

THE DEALER REPLACED THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY AND TCM, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14. *TR*JB
TRACTION CONTROL ISSUE.... DURING SNOWSTORM , TRYING TO DRIVE UP A HILL WITH A LEFT HAND TURN , TIRES LOST TRACTION AND CAR ELECTRONICALLY REDUCED RPM SPEED... LOSS OF SPEED ALMOST SENT CAR SIDEWAYS INTO DITCH. HAD TO TURN AROUND AND GET RUN AT HILL 4 MORE TIMES.... EACH TIME WHEN TRACTION WITH TIRES WAS BROKEN ...RPMS WERE DROPPED TO NOTHING LEAVING CAR STOPPED NEAR STALLING IN MIDDLE OF HILL. WILL BE DEALING WITH DEALERSHIP SOON.. I FEEL THAT THE FIX FOR THIS IS GOING TO BE REMOVE FUSE FOR TRACTION CONTROL.....OR DISABLE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM.. THIS CAR IS A STICK SHIFT... I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH VEHICLE FROM PURCHASING IT NEW TOLD DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM IT RAN WRONG AND WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T CHECK TIL VEHICLE HAD 10000 MILES. FEEL I'VE BEEN SOLD AN UNSAFE LEMON. WAS TOLD BY ONE SERVICE MANAGER TO FLOOR WHEN CAR GRABS FROM A STOP. ALSO SYNC SYSTEM WORKS INTERMITTENTLY.
TRAVELING STRAIGHT ON THE TOLL ROAD AT 70MPH (SPEED LIMIT) WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON THE BACK END OF THE VEHICLE STARTED FISH TAILING AND WENT OUT OF CONTROL INTO A GUARDRAIL WHICH TOTAL THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS JUST PURCHASED A MONTH PRIOR. I WILL SUBMIT PHOTOS AND DOCUMENTS ON REQUEST.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO MOVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED THREE TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
WHEN I TEST DRIVE I FELT THAT CAR FEELS DIFFERENT. THE TRANSMISSION WAS A BIT DIFFERENT. THE SALES PERSON TOLD ME THAT IT'S NORMAL, AND CAR LEARNING ME. IN MY IN NEXT HALF YEAR I START TO EXPERIENCE ROUGH, HARSH SHIFTING, JERKING, GRINDING NOISE, VIBRATIONS, SHUDDERING UPON TAKING OFF AND STOPPING. ALSO CAR WAS ROLLING BACK WHEN DRIVING UP HILL. I TOOK I TOOK MY CAR TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS. THEY REPLACE CLUTCH AND REPROGRAM MY TCM MODULE. FEW MONTHS LATER AFTER REPAIR CAR START TO HAVE SIMILAR PROBLEM LIKE THE PREVIOUS TIME PLUS ROUGH SHIFTING ON 1ST AND 2ND GEAR, GRINDING NOISE. MY BIGGEST FEAR WAS TO REAR END CAR IN FRONT ON ME OR GET INTRO ACCIDENT BECAUSE CAR WAS ROLLING FORWARD EVEN IF YOU PRESS BRAKE PEDAL. I TOOK MY CAR SECOND TIME TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY KEPT MY CAR FOR TWO DAYS, AND THEY SAID THAT THAT IT'S NORMAL AND THEY ONLY REPROGRAM TCM. SURE THING EVEN AFTER THAT I DIDN'T SEE ANY IMPROVEMENT. CAR STILL ROLLING BACK HILL AND HAVE SAME ISSUES. SO I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER CENTER. AFTER TWO DAYS TALKING WITH THEM ON THE PHONE AND EXPLAINING THAT MY CAR ITS NOT SAFE TO BE USED ON THE STREET, AND PUT MY LIFE AND OTHER PEOPLE IN DANGER. I NEWER SIGNED UP FOR THAT. FORD REP TOLD ME THAT THEY CANT HELP ME AND THIS IS THE WAY TRANSMISSION WORK. SO PRETTY MUCH I AM STUCK WITH POUR ENGINEERED TRANSMISSION AND A CAR THAT ITS DANGEROUS ON THE ROAD.

AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT BUMPER DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51.
DURING DRIVING IN THE RAIN AND THE CAR HAD THE "STOP SAFELY" LIGHT COME ON AND IT STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I HAD MY KIDS WITH ME AND TRAFFIC BEHIND ME WHEN THIS HAPPENED. THIS HAPPENED TWICE IN A MATTER OF COUPLE OF HOURS. IT AGAIN HAPPENED ON DECEMBER 3, AS I BRAKED AT A RED LIGHT. *JS
TRANSMISSION STARTED SHUDDERING NOT LONG AFTER PURCHASE. FORD ACTED LIKE THEY DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS EVEN THOUGHT WE NOW FIND THAT THEY HAVE BEEN WELL DOCUMENTED FOR YEARS. MULTIPLE TRIPS TO 2 DEALERSHIPS HAVE NOT FIXED PROBLEM. THE SHUDDERING TAKES PLACE WHILE IN MOTION, SOMETIMES DRIVING STRAIGHT, OFTEN WHEN TURNING. LONGER TRIPS OR HILLY TERRAIN EXASPERATE PROBLEM. DRIVING IN WINTER CONDITIONS ( SNOW, ICE)MAKES IT DIFFICULT TO TELL IF IT IS THE TIRES OR TRANSMISSION THAT IS SLIPPING. VERY DANGEROUS DEFECT. DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS FEEL VERY UNSAFE IN THIS VEHICLE. WONDERING WHY NHTSA IS SO SLOW IN DEALING WITH THIS PROBLEM.
MY TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP OUT OF GEARS LOSE POWER WHILE ACCELERATING AND STOPS COMPLETELY WHEN THAT HAPPENS DEALERSHIP REPLACES TCM TWICE AND CLUTCH ONCE BUT THE JERKING GEARS SLIPPING OUT AND SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER HAS NEVER BEEN RESOLVED ALSO MY A/C LINES HAVE HAD HOLES RUBBED INTO THEM FROM SERPENTINE BELT ANOTHER PROBLEM IS ELECTRICAL THE SYNC AND RADIO STOPPED WORKING AT 30000 MILES WAS FIXED UNDER WARRENTY AND STOPPED WORKING AGAIN AT 70000 MILES TOLD NOT UNDER WARRENTY ANY MORE IT IS VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE OUT OF NOWHERE THE SPEAKERS WILL CRACK AT FULL VOLUME STARTLING DRIVER. ANOTHER PROBLEM AT 40000 MILES A CAR PULLES INTO MY PATH CAUSING ME TO SLAM INTO THE SIDE OF THERE CAR AT 45 MPH WITH NO TIME TO STOP MY AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSING ME TO SMASH FACE OF WINDSHIELD AND SEAT BELT WAS FASTENED TOLD DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS THEY SAID THE CAR HAS A SMART AIRBAG THAT CALCULATES THE RATE OF DECELERATION OF WHEN TO DEPLOY AIRBAGS NOT SURE HOW 45 MPH TO 0MPH IS NOT ENOUGH DECELERATION.
BRAND NEW 2014 FORD FOCUS ELECTRIC - LESS THAN 200 MILES ON ODOMETER. DRIVING ON 35MPH ROAD DURING EVENING RUSH HOUR THE CAR SUDDENLY FLASHED A "STOP SAFELY NOW" WARNING ON THE DASH. AS I LOOKED FOR A PLACE TO PULL OVER THE CAR SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY (DASH GAUGES WENT DARK...ESTIMATED LESS THAN 10 SECONDS AFTER WARNING MESSAGE). FORTUNATELY I WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT BECAUSE I WAS AT SPEED BUT I LOST POWER STEERING. HEADLIGHTS FLICKERING, RELAYS CLICKING, ETC. I CALLED FORD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE FOR A TOW. HAD THIS HAPPENED AT A FASTER SPEED ON A HIGHWAY, I OR OTHER DRIVERS COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED OR SEVERELY INJURED. FORD SUPPOSEDLY CORRECTED THIS DEFECTED IN EARLIER MODELS YEARS. AT THIS POINT I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE UNTIL I HAVE POSITIVE CONFIRMATION THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AND CORRECTED. FORD IS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE IF THEY DON'T GET THIS CORRECTED! I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE WHEN THE "STOP SAFELY NOW" (SSN) FLASHED ON THE DASH AND THE CAR STARTED BEEPING. I SLOWED DOWN AND WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD. THE CAR THEN DIED AND WAS INOPERABLE. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the accelerator pedal, the transmission failed to shift as intended and the vehicle failed to respond as needed. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the TCM module was reprogrammed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was determined that two clutches needed to be replaced inside the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.
