I PURCHASED MY VEHICLE ON MAY 15, 2010. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO STALL ALMOST 1 MONTH LATER AT 2100 MILES. I WAS COMING TO A STOP AT A RED LIGHT WHEN I NOTICED THAT MY VEHICLE HAD LOST ALL POWER WHEN I BEGAN TO APPLY THE BRAKE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND NO CODES WERE SHOWING UP WHEN DIAGNOSED. AFTER THE FIRST TIME THE VEHICLE STALLED ON ME I STARTED TO NOTICE AN ACCELERATION PROBLEM PRIOR TO THE VEHICLE STALLING AGAIN. IT FEELS LIKE THE VEHICLE IS NOT SHIFTING GEARS CORRECTLY WHEN I'M PRESSING THE GAS FOR ACCELERATION. THE VEHICLE HAS TROUBLE ACCELERATING PROPERLY AND I FEAR THAT I MAY GET REAR ENDED. WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLS IT DOES NOT GIVE ME ANY WARNING SIGNS AND JUST LOOSES POWER. I HAVE TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION AND TURN IT BACK ON. THE VEHICLE STARTS UP RIGHT AWAY LIKE IF NOTHING HAPPENED. MEANWHILE I LOOSE POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY OR ON THE STREET, FEARING THAT I WILL GET REAR ENDED. THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED ON ME NUMEROUS TIMES AND EACH TIME I TAKE IT INTO THE DEALER THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER PLACED A FLIGHT RECORDER TO MONITOR THE VEHICLE AND THEY STILL WEREN'T ABLE TO CAPTURE ANYTHING WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED, SO THEY SAY. I HAVE CONTACT FORD CORPORATION AND HAVE NOTIFIED THEM OF THE PROBLEM BUT THEY ARE NOT WORKING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THEY KEEP CHANGING ME FROM DEALER TO DEALER AND THEY HAVE NOT SENT OUT A FORD TECHNICIAN AS PROMISED TO LOOK AT THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN THAT FORD IS NOT ADDRESSING. I HAVE PUT IN NUMEROUS CALLS TO FORD CORPORATION AND THEY HAVE NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM TO THIS DAY.
ON A HIGHWAY I STARTED FROM A STOP AND MY 2010 FORD FUSION MOVED FORWARD AND THEN DROPPED INTO IDLE WITH NO RESPONSE TO THE ACCELERATOR AND I WAS FORCED TO PULL DRIFT OFF THE HIGHWAY INTO THE NEAREST PARKING LOT. I CALLED THE DEALER AND MOVED SLOWLY TO THE DEALER FOR AN ASSESSED FAULTY ORIGINAL ELECTRONIC THROTTLE ASSEMBLY REQUIRING REPLACEMENT FOR $629.00 WITH A BACKLOG OF 9000 OF THOSE PARTS IN THE FORD SUPPLY SYSTEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION WITH MICHELIN ENERGY SAVER TIRES P225/ 50 R17. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE TRAVELING 60 MPH THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE TIRE WITH SPARE TIRE AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO HOME. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED, SINCE THERE WAS NOT A LOT OF MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT TIRE MILEAGE WAS 15,500.
ON JUNE 19, 2010 A LARGE CRACK DEVELOPED IN MY WINDSHIELD OF MY 10 MONTH-OLD 2010 FUSION HYBRID. NO FOREIGN OBJECT STRUCK IT. A FORD DEALERSHIP IS ATTEMPTING TO ATTRIBUTE THE CRACK TO A FOREIGN OBJECT WITH NO OBJECTIVE EXPLANATION. THE CRACK CONTINUED TO GROW ACROSS THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD MAKING THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO OPERATE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 3 MPH THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED UP TO 30 MPH. WHILE TRYING TO STOP THE VEHICLE THE VEHICLE IT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED DURING THE CRASH. THE CONTACT DID NOT FILE A POLICE REPORT. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND THEY DID NOT PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT NOTICED NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION PROBLEM WITH THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL AND REFUSED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE IN FEAR OF CAUSING A CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING IN EXTREMELY HEAVY TRAFFIC APPROXIMATELY BETWEEN 3-4 MPH, AN UNEXPECTED INCREASE OF ACCELERATION OCCURRED. THE CONTACT APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO THE PROCEEDING VEHICLE. THERE WAS NO PERSONAL INJURY OR DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE AUTHORIZED DEALER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE ACCELERATION FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD BE TAKEN TO THE AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 960. UPDATED 07/12/10*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE ENGINE RPM INCREASED AND THE VEHICLE JERKED WITHOUT WARNING . THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 21,000.
TAKATA RECALL ON AIR BAGS IS GOING ON AND ON NO END IN SIGHT. WHEN WILL THEY FINALLY FIX IT?
I HAVE A 2010 FORD FUSION WHICH WAS RECALLED FOR THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. I BROUGHT IT IN FOR THE HARD SHIFTS AND WHEN PUT INTO DRIVE IT FEELS AS IF THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO FALL OUT OF THE FRONT END. THEY KEEP TELLING ME NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR. THIS IS CRAZY SEEING THIS IS A NEW VEHICLE WITH ONLY 5,000 MILES ON IT. *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED DOWN HILL IT WOULD NOT ADJUST THE SPEED; YET, THE RPMS INCREASED TO 4000 WHILE THE ENGINE MADE A HIGH PITCH SCREAMING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE SOFTWARE REPAIRED; HOWEVER, IT WOULD NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT IT MUST BE A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE AND THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 13,000. UPDATED 10/21/10. *LJ THE CONSUMER STATED INSTEAD OF SLOWING THE ENGINE DOWN TO MAINTAIN SPEED WHEN GOING DOWN A STEEP GRADE, IT REVS REALLY HIGH. A SERVICE TECHNICIAN STATED THERE WAS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG, BUT THERE WAS NO FIX FOR IT. UPDATED 10/26/10
I OWN A 2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID. I WAS PULLING MY CAR INTO MY GARAGE TO PARK IT. I HAD SLOWED MY CAR DOWN VERY SLOWLY BEFORE I PULLED INTO MY DRIVEWAY. THE CAR WAS "IDLING" INTO THE DRIVEWAY. ABOUT 5 FEET FROM THE WALL AND 2 FEET FROM WHERE I USUALLY STOP, THE ACCELERATOR SLOWLY PULLED DOWN TOWARD THE FLOOR. IT TOOK ME ONE OR TWO SECONDS TO REALIZE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. DURING THAT TIME, MY CAR MOVED HEAD ON TOWARD THE GARAGE WALL. I PRESSED ON THE BRAKE AND THE CAR STOPPED. THE CAR HAD ALREADY SLAMMED STRAIGHT INTO THE WALL OF MY GARAGE. MY TODDLER WAS IN THE BACKSEAT OF THE CAR AND STARTED CRYING. I WAS SHOCKED BY WHAT HAD HAPPENED. I LOVED THAT CAR AND ALWAYS BELIEVED THAT IT WAS THE PERFECT CAR. NOW, I HAVE DAMAGE TO THE CAR AND TO MY HOUSE. MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE CAR SPONTANEOUSLY ACCELERATED AND A PERSON COULD HAVE BEEN CAUGHT BETWEEN MY CAR AND THAT GARAGE. I WAS GOING TO GO TO A POPULAR GROCERY STORE IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD THAT DAY. BUT, I DECIDED NOT TO DO SO BECAUSE MY TODDLER WAS LOOKING SLEEPY. IF I HAD GONE TO THE STORE, I COULD HAVE RUN A SHOPPER OVER WITH MY OUT-OF-CONTROL CAR. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHO SOLD ME THE CAR IMMEDIATELY. THEY DID NOT CALL ME BACK. *TR
MY TRIP ODOMETER CONTINUES TO MALFUNCTION DESPITE BEING REPLACED WITH A BRAND NEW INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. I WILL PARK THE VEHICLE, RESET THE TRIP ODOMETER TO 0.0, AND WHEN I RETURN THE NEXT DAY OR SEVERAL HOURS LATER THE TRIP ODOMETER WILL INCREASE IN MILEAGE BY ITSELF! FOR EXAMPLE, THE TRIP ODOMETER WILL NOW READ 0.1, 0.4, 0.6, 0.7, OR 0.9. APPARENTLY THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW WITHIN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FOR THIS VEHICLE THAT I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR DISCOVERING, WHICH EXPLAINS THE WARRANTY PROVIDING ME WITH A BRAND NEW INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THE FORD DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THAT THE TRIP ODOMETER IS ROUNDING OFF TO THE TENTH BASED UPON THE CURRENT TENTH THAT THE MAIN ODOMETER IS ON. I QUESTIONED THE DEALERSHIP ON THE FACT OF WHETHER OR NOT MY MAIN ODOMETER WAS BEING COMPROMISED? WHILE THE MAIN ODOMETER IS CAUSING THE TRIP ODOMETER TO MOVE WITHOUT BEING DRIVEN, CAN THE TRIP ODOMETER CAUSE THE MAIN ODOMETER TO MOVE WITHOUT BEING DRIVEN AS WELL? THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME NO, BUT IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THIS SITUATION COULD BE A TWO WAY STREET, AND IF IT IS THEN FORD IS GUILTY OF ODOMETER FRAUD!!!!! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE STOPPED WITH HER FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE ATTEMPTED TO SURGE FORWARD. THE CONTACT APPLIED HEAVY PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FROM MOVING WHILE IT ATTEMPTED TO SURGE FORWARD THREE TIMES. ONCE THE ENGINE STOPPED REVVING, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY MOVE VERY SLOWLY. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL SO THE CONTACT PULLED OVER AND SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE. UPON RESTART THE VEHICLE OPERATED AS NORMAL AND WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 1,100.
SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NEW THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS OR JUMPS INTO GEAR. THE ENGINE ALSO HESITATES WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS PUSHED AND THEN STARTS TO GO. VISITS TO THREE FORD DEALERSHIPS OVER THE YEARS AND CALLS TO FORD HAVE BEEN USELESS. FORD DEALERS WILL CHARGE FOR REPROGRAMMING OF COMPUTER WHICH DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM, THERE IS WHAT FORD CALLS A RECALL BUT THEY WILL ONLY FIX THE PROBLEM IF THE DASH LIGHT COMES ON BECAUSE THEIR OIL CHANGE PEOPLE CAN'T TELL IF THERE IS A PROBLEM UNLESS THE LIGHT COMES ON. FORD HAS GIVEN ME NUMEROUS "WORK TICKETS" BUT THEY ARE UNWILLING TO FIX THE VEHICLE OR DON'T KNOW HOW. I KNOW THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH FORD VEHICLES AFTER SITTING IN DEALERSHIP WAITING ROOMS WITH OTHERS WHO HAVE THE SAME ISSUES. IF YOU OWN A FORD BE CAREFUL WHEN MERGING ONTO A HIGHWAY BECAUSE YOUR VEHICLE MAY NOT GO WHEN YOU WANT IT TO. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION DISENGAGED FROM THE ENGINE, CAUSING LOSS OF ALL POWER WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO REPROGRAMMED THE COMPUTER IN JUNE 2010; HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN IN JANUARY 2011. THE CONTACT DID NOT INFORM THE MANUFACTURER NOR WAS THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 34,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 23,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
I HAVE A FORD FUSION 2010. I FIRST NOTICED MY CAR HAD AN ISSUE IN APRIL. I WAS BEHIND A TRUCK AND IT WAS SLOWING DOWN SO I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND THE CAR ACCELERATED BY ITSELF. I WAS IN KY OVER THE WEEKEND AND NOTICED THE CAR SPEEDING UP INTO PASSING GEAR AFTER I STEPPED ON THE BRAKE. I GET HOME FROM KY AND FIND A RECALL FOR A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. I DID NOT REPORT THE PROBLEMS I WAS HAVING TO THE DEALER BECAUSE I SAW WHAT THE MEDIA DID TO OWNERS OF TOYOTAS SAYING THAT THEIR FOOT SLIPPED OFF THE BRAKE AND ON TO THE GAS. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER FOR THE RECALL ISSUE THIS PAST TUESDAY. IT WAS NOTED I WAS THE FIRST TO REPORT THAT THE CAR ACCELERATED BY ITSELF. I'M NOT SURE IF I FALL INTO THE STUPID CATEGORY OR NOT BUT I DID NOTICE IN THE PAPER YESTERDAY THAT FLOOR MATS MAYBE CAUSING THE ACCELERATING ISSUE. WHO EVER SAID THIS IS REALLY THE STUPID ONE. AND PLEASE DO NOT BLAME THIS ON DRIVING HABITS I'M AVERAGING 25.1 MILES PER GALLON. DO I TRUST MY CAR WITH ONLY 4100 MILES ON IT? WOULD YOU? *TR
WHILE DRIVING OUR BRAND NEW FORD FUSION SEDAN SE ON THE FREEWAY AROUND 2PM. I WAS FAR AWAY FROM CARS AND I DON'T DRIVE NEAR SEMI'S OR DUMP TRUCKS I HEARD A NOISE IN THE WINDSHIELD FRAME ON THE PASSENGER SIDE MID WAY UP AND THEN A HORIZONTAL CRACK APPROX 14 INCHES APPEARED. I GOT OFF THE NEXT EXIT AND CALLED OUR DEALER IMMEDIATELY AND THEY SAID BRING INTO SERVICE DEPT 7AM NEXT MORNING. THE SERVICE DEPT LOOKED AT WINDSHIELD AND FRAME AND STATED IT WAS A MICROSCOPIC CHIP. WE HAD TO PAY ALMOST $400 FOR A NEW WINDSHIELD AND WE STILL THINK IT WAS A DEFECTIVE WINDSHIELD. IT WAS AT APPROX 1,000 MILES. IT'S INTERESTING AND CONCERNING A FRIEND OF OURS BOUGHT A FORD FUSION S AT THE SAME DEALER OVER A MONTH AGO AND AFTER 2 WEEKS HIS WINDSHIELD DID THE SAME THING. WE'D APPRECIATE YOU CHECKING INTO THIS. I SPOKE WITH THE BUSINESS MANAGER AT THE DEALER THE DAY IT HAPPENED AND HE SAID MAYBE IT'S THE HEAT. I HAD 2 OF THE WINDOWS DOWN PARTIALLY IN THE BACK. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HIS VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR AN UNKNOWN TRANSMISSION REPAIR. AFTERWARD, WHENEVER HE WOULD RELEASE HIS FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD DOWN SHIFT AND THE FAILURE WOULD RECUR AT ANY TRAVELED SPEED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY HAD RECALIBRATED THE POWER CONTROL MODULE IN ACCORDANCE WITH A NEW FEDERAL REGULATION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO RECUR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,500 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,900.
I WAS DRIVING A FORD FUSION THAT I HAD RENTED FROM HERTZ IN MINOT, NORTH DAKOTA. I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE PARKING SPACE AND LUCKILY HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. I HAD TO PUSH DOWN VERY HARD ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TO KEEP THE CAR UNDER CONTROL. I IMMEDIATELY PUT THE CAR IN "PARK" AND THE ACCELERATION SLOWED DOWN. I DROVE THE CAR THAT DAY BUT REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO HERTZ AND URGED THEM TO GET THE CAR CHECKED. THE FORD FUSION HAD LESS THAN 3000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER SO I ASSUME THAT IT WAS A 2010 MODEL. *TR
AFTER THE CAR HAS BEEN UNUSED FOR 2 OR MORE DAYS, THE TRANSMISSION EVIDENCES AN ENGINE FLAIR WHERE THE GEARS ARE DISENGAGED, FOLLOWED BY A VERY HARD SHIFT BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEARS. SOMETIMES IT ALSO FLARES BETWEEN 4TH AND 5TH. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE ON LEFT TURNS AND WHEN MERGING INTO TRAFFIC. *TR

VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN FOR TRANSMISSION RELATED PROBLEMS 2-TIMES, WAITING TO SCHEDULE 3RD. ALL 3000 MILES OR LESS. *TR
WHEN DRIVING THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SOMETIMES SLIPS OUT OF GEAR AND GOES TO NEUTRAL. THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS FROM 10-40MPH AT 0-50% THROTTLE. LOSS OF POWER HAPPENS BETWEEN 5-10 SECONDS AND THE ENGINE RPMS WILL INCREASE TO 7,000 RPMS. DEPRESSING THE THROTTLE ALLOWS THE TRANSMISSION TO ENGAGE AGAIN WITH AN ABRUPT AND HARD SHIFT. ACCELERATING AGAIN AFTER THIS IS VERY SLOW AND SLUGGISH AND IS BELIEVED THAT THE CAR IS IN AN UPPER GEAR. ALMOST CAUSED A WRECK THAT COULD HAVE ENDED MY LIFE BETWEEN TWO TRACTOR TRAILERS BECAUSE OF LOSS OF POWER AND FAILURE TO ACCELERATE. *TR

FIRST VISIT, 5/18/2010 (8767 MILES-BOUGHT NEW AT 15 MILES-10/10)/ PRESENTLY, JULY, 2011, CAR WITH 22,000 IS IN FOR 4TH RETURN TO DEALER: 10/2010 CAR 1 YEAR OLD, 14,000 MILES, LOCAL OIL REPAIR SHOP NOTICES BOTH LOWER BALL JOINTS BOOTS SPLIT, RETURNED TO DEALER TO RESOLVE. STILL HESITATING AND JERKING AND BUCKING, PARTICULARLY DURING GEAR SHIFTS. SECOND VISIT, 11/2010 RETURNED FOR SAME DRIVING PROBLEMS. THIRD VISIT 6/30/11 SERVICE SHOP NOTICES LEAK UNDER CARRIAGE, RETURNED TO DEALER. ALSO, SEALANT AROUND WINDSHIELD MELTS AND BECOMES TACKY IN HOT WEATHER (TEXAS). HAD DEALER RESEAL LAST SUMMER. NOW, AREA IS GETTING TACKY AGAIN. WILL THIS OCCUR EACH SUMMER AND WILL SEAL HOLD DURING HARD RAIN?
WE WERE TRAPPED ON AN INTERSTATE OUT OF STATE AFTER FLAT TOWING PER FORD'S SPECS AND FORD'S RECOMMENDATIONS. TRANSMISSION FAILED. HAD TO TRAILER FUSION HOME AFTER DEALER SAID IT WOULD BE SIX DAYS BEFORE ONE WAS AVAILABLE. TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. WAS TRAPPED ON INTERSTATE A SECOND TIME ON 5/23/12 WHILE FLAT TOWING, THE 2ND TRANSMISSION FAILED. THIS TRANSMISSION HAD 15,707 MILES ON IT. IT WAS OBVIOUS THAT THIS TRANSMISSION WAS NOT MADE FOR FLAT TOWING. WE ASKED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE TO BUY BACK THE FUSION SINCE THE ONLY REASON WE BOUGHT IT WAS THEY RECOMMENDED IT FOR FLAT TOWING. THEY REFUSED. ON 4/25/13 I TOOK THE FUSION IN TO CHECK FLUID LEVEL FOR FLAT TOWING AND WITH ONLY ABOUT 8000 MILES ON FLUID SINCE 2ND REPLACEMENT THE REPORT RECOMMENDED THE TRANSMISSION BE FLUSHED AND REFILLED BECAUSE THE FLUID WAS BURNT. FORD WOULD NOT PAY FOR IT EVEN THOUGH I HAD AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AND MY CAR ONLY HAD 24215 MI. THE SERVICE WRITER TOLD ME NOT TO FLUSH AND REFILL WITH ONLY 8000 MI ON THE FLUID EVEN THOUGH THAT WAS THE MAIN REASON I WENT IN. I HEARD FORD WAS WORKING WITH REMCO AND HAD DEVELOPED A TRANSMISSION COOLER THAT THEY WERE INSTALLING TO KEEP THESE TRANSMISSIONS FROM FAILING BUT THE DEALER KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THIS. FORD SEEMS HAPPY TO HAVE CUSTOMERS TRAPPED ON DANGEROUS FREEWAYS AND THEN CONTINUE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSIONS AT THE INCONVENIENCE AND DANGER TO THE OCCUPANTS OF THE FUSION. THE MECHANIC FOUND AN ABS CODE AND A COOLANT REFRIGERATOR CODE. HE DROVE THE VEHICLE 20 MILES AND AGAIN STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE THAT WOULD CAUSE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE HAPPENED AGAIN THE SAME DAY. THE WRENCH LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP WAITING FOR REPAIRS. FIRST NIGHT I DROVE THE CAR A NEIGHBOR TOLD ME I HAD NO TAIL LIGHTS, I HAD STRONG RUNNING LIGHTS THAT I WAS DRIVING BY THAT I THOUGH WERE AUTOMATICALLY SWITCHED HEAD LIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN HOME WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT THAT DAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER TO GET THE PCM "FLASHED", I ASSUME WITH A NEW SHIFT PROFILE. THE VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONED TWO MORE TIMES WITH A DATA RECORDER FROM THE DEALERSHIP INSTALLED. THE LOSS OF DRIVE OCCURRED AFTER RAPIDLY DECELERATING TO SLIGHTLY LESS THAN 40 MPH AND THEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO THE PREVIOUS SPEED. AGAIN, ENGAGEMENT WAS HARSH WHEN THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO PROVIDE DRIVE. FORD HAS ACKNOWLEDGED AT LEAST ONE ENGINE RPM SPIKE FROM THE RECORDER, BUT DENIES THAT IT IS SIGNIFICANT OR THAT IT IS INDICATIVE OF A PROBLEM. I HAVE HAD THE TRANSMISSION FLUID FROM THIS VEHICLE TESTED AT AN INDEPENDENT LABORATORY. THE SAMPLE RESULTS SHOWED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID TO BE HIGH IN ALUMINUM (7 TIMES THE AVERAGE FOR A UNIT WITH SIMILAR MILES), AND HIGH IN IRON ABOUT 1.6 TIMES THE AVERAGE. SEVERAL WEEKS BEFORE THE INCIDENT, I REMOVED THE DRIVER'S SIDE ALL-WEATHER FLOOR MAT (THE FACTORY-DEVELOPED OPTIONAL ONE) FROM OUR 2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID AND TOSSED IT IN THE TRUNK. IN THE DAYS LEADING UP TO THIS INCIDENT, THE CAR HAD BEEN TO THE BODY SHOP AND THE CAR WASH. UPON COMPLETION OF THIS MANEUVER I EASED UP ON THE GAS, BUT THE PEDAL STAYED DOWN AND THE CAR KEPT ACCELERATING, UNINTENTIONALLY AT THIS POINT. AT FIRST I WASN'T SURE WHAT WAS GOING ON, BUT AFTER ABOUT 3 OR 4 SECONDS I HEARD A "CLICK", THE PEDAL RETURNED TO NORMAL AND THE CAR SLOWED. IT WAS THEN THAT I THOUGHT OF THE ALL-WEATHER FLOOR MAT, AND WHEN TRAFFIC CLEARED I TRIED ANOTHER EXPERIMENTAL FULL-THROTTLE DAB TO SEE IF I WAS CORRECT. IT HAPPENED AGAIN (BUT I WAS READY FOR IT), WITH THE PEDAL RELEASING ON ITS OWN AFTER A FEW SECONDS, JUST LIKE BEFORE. AS BEFORE, THE PEDAL STAYED STUCK FOR ABOUT 3 SECONDS AFTER I PRESSED IT TO THE FLOOR. I WAS ABLE TO REPEAT THIS SEVERAL TIMES. BUT IN ONE TRIAL THE STUCK THROTTLE PERSISTED FOR OVER 30 SECONDS, WITH THE PEDAL STAYING STUCK DESPITE VIGOROUS STAMPING IN AN EFFORT TO FREE IT. RECENTLY A NEW PROBLEM HAS DEVELOPED AT HIGH SPEEDS WHERE THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT AND RUNS AT 4500 RPM FOR 20-30 SECONDS. FORD SAYS NOTHING IS WRONG DESPITE ME SENDING A VIDEO OF THE CONSOLE WHEN THIS HAPPENS. *KB
THIS IS THE 4 CYLINDER VERSION OF THE 2010 FUSION. SINCE THE CAR WAS ONLY A FEW MONTHS OLD, THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SLIPPING IN LOW GEAR. AS THE MILEAGE HAS GONE UP IT HAS OCCURRED MORE OFTEN BUT MAINLY IN LOW GEARS. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN THAT IT DOES NOT SET OFF ANY SERVICE LIGHTS SO THEY HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING TO FIX. AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR ABOUT A YEAR, IT FINALLY HAPPENED AT HIGH SPEED AND TURNED ON THE SERVICE LIGHT. IT WAS BAD ENOUGH THAT I HAD TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. BY THIS TIME, THE TRANSMISSION WAS DAMAGED AND THEY HAD TO REBUILD MANY OF THE PARTS. FORD KNEW THIS WAS OCCURRING AND HAD A BULLETIN ALL ABOUT IT. THIS SHOWS THAT PRIOR TO THE REBUILD, FORD ALREADY KNEW THE TRANSMISSION HAS HAD ISSUES. PRIOR TO THE REBUILD, THE TRANSMISSION HAD BEEN THROUGH MULTIPLE TESTS, A REPROGRAMMING OF THE TRANSMISSION, AND OTHER CHANGES TO THE TRANSMISSION FROM THEIR TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS. I DID OPEN A CASE WITH FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY ADMITTED TO ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAS HAD ISSUES IN OTHER CARS AND THEY ARE WORKING ON HOW TO RESOLVE THEM. SOON AFTER I WAS TOLD THAT, I WAS ASSIGNED TO A DIFFERENT CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE WHO DENIED THIS FACT. AFTER A FEW MONTHS MORE, I GOT A CALL FROM FORD STATING THAT THEY HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM SO THEY ARE JUST CLOSING THE CASE WITH NO RESOLUTION. I ASKED FOR A REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION AND THEY HAVE SAID NO. IF YOU LOOK IN THE FORUMS FOR THE 2010 FORD FUSION 4 CYLINDER, YOU WILL SEE HOW COMMON THE ISSUE IS. ON TOP OF ALL THIS, MY GAS MILEAGE HAS DROPPED SINCE THE REBUILD OF THE TRANSMISSION. *TR
THIS PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. WHEN I HIT THE GAS AFTER SLOWING DOWN, THE VEHICLE WILL NOT MOVE. I WILL HAVE TO JAM DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL BEFORE IT DOES ANYTHING. AT THAT POINT, THE RPM'S FLY UP AND THE CAR WILL FINALLY START MOVING. IT IS INEVITABLE THAT THIS WILL CAUSE ME TO GET INTO A CAR ACCIDENT AND EVEN POSSIBLY KILLED ONE DAY. THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL TIMES WHERE I HAVE BEEN JUST SHY OF GETTING SLAMMED INTO BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC AS I TURN IN FROM OF THEM CAUSE MY VEHICLE IS NOT MOVING. ALSO THERE HAVE BEEN THREE INSTANCES IN WHICH THE CAR WILL TOTALLY STOP MOVING. THE CAR IS ON, BUT IT WILL NOT GO. I WILL HIT THE GAS AND NOTHING HAPPENS. I HAVE TO SHUT THE CAR COMPLETELY OFF AND THEN BACK ON AGAIN IN ORDER TO GET IT TO MOVE. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES ABOUT PROBLEMS WITH MY VEHICLE AND NOTHING EVER GETS DONE.THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND I FEAR FOR MY LIFE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM THAT CONTINUES TO GO UNHEEDED BY THE DEALERSHIP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITH THE ILLUMINATION OF THE WRENCH WARNING ICON AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ALSO ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FAILURE; HOWEVER THE DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE A CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS TEST DRIVEN AND THE FAILURE WAS DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE 1,000 AND THE CURRENT FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
AT 2000 MILES HAD CAR BACK FOR BRAKES.ITS BEEN BACK 8 TIMES. THEY HAVE CUT THE ROTORS AND REPLACED PADS AND STILL JUMPS AFTER ABOUT 5000 MILES. VIBRATION IN CAR THAT THEY COULDNT FIND Y. REPLACED TROTTLE BODY . THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE BRAKES THEY NEED TO FIND OUT WHATS WRONG. THEY HAVE CUT THE ROTORS DOWN TO THE POINT THEY REPLACED THEM AND THE ONES ON THE FRONT ARENT 6 MONTHS OLD AND THEY CUT THEM AGAIN. *TT
