TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) AND RELATED A FAILURE EXPERIENCED TO THE RECALL. THE CONTACT'S SON WAS DRIVING AT 40 MPH, WHEN THERE WAS AN ABRUPT TRAFFIC STOP ON THE ROAD AHEAD AND HE DEPRESSED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT IT FAILED TO STOP COMPLETELY. THE CONTACT'S SON STEERED TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID HITTING THE VEHICLE IN FRONT BUT IT HIT THE REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE BUMPER. THE VEHICLE THEN SPUN INTO THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE TRAFFIC LANE AND HIT A TRAILER, THEN IT COLLIDED INTO THE CEMENT RAILING. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS RECEIVED ON THE SCENE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A JUNK YARD. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.*DT - (RECALL RELATED INCIDENT) TS
I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY 2010 BRAKE SYSTEM... THE PEDAL GOES DOWN FURTHER THEN IT SHOULD AND ITS SOMEHWAT HARDER TO BRAKE. I CONTACTED FORD AND THEY SAID THEY ARE NOT EXACTLY SURE WHAT IT IS BUT CAN TRY A FEW THINGS FOR $3000 AND IT MAY FIX THE PROBLEM OR IT MAY NOT. I LOOKED IT UP AND IT SEEMS FORD HAVE A VOLUNTARY RECALL BUT I CALLED FORD AND THEY SAID MY VEHICLE IS NOT AFFECTED EVEN THOUGH THE YEAR AND MANUFACTURE DATE IS IDENTICAL TO THOSE CARS HAVING THESES BRAKING ISSUES... IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO?

The contact stated that the power steering fault message was displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed with needing the rack and pinion to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that they were unable to assist with the repair. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The VIN was invalid.
The transmission fails to shift from first to second and also is shuttering in reverse. It revs the engine and suddenly lurches forward or reverse. It becomes unsafe trying to get to traffic speed from a light or when turning. Yes the by independent service company. No it has need been inspected by a dealer or manufacturer. Warning lights came on after the first time it happened. This is a known issue with these transmissions and I believe its a manufacture failure to recall these transmisisons.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DAVID WILSON'S VILLA FORD (2550 N TUSTIN ST, ORANGE, CA 92865) FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. UPON SERVICING THE RECALL, IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE HECU UNIT NEEDING TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RELATED THE ISSUE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 74,000.
I HAVE NO BRAKES. AND I HAVE NO BRAKE FLUID GOING TO MY LEFT REAR BRAKE CALIPER. I HAVE CHANGED THE MASTER CYLINDER AND FOLLOWED ALL EVERYTHING IT SAID ON HOW TO CHANGE IT AND TO BLEED IT. I ALSO HAVE CHANGED THE ABS MOTOR AND DID THE SAME THING BLEED IT AND FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS. I ALSO CHANGED THE LEFT REAR BRAKE CALIPER OUT WITH THE BRAKE HOSE AND STILL NO BRAKES OR PRESSURE. I WAS DRIVING THE CAR GOING HOME FROM WORK WHEN I ALL SUDDEN I HAD NO BRAKES AND THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. IT HAPPENED ON A STREET IN ILLINOIS BY MAZON ON GRAND RIDGE BLACKTOP THAT STREET IS CALLED COUNTY ROAD 3000 AND ALSO NORTH 21ST ROAD
STEERING QUIT WORKING , ALMOST WRECKING. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME ELECTRIC STEERING HAS FAILED ON THIS CAR. 2007, 08,09, 11, 12 HAVE HAD RECALLS FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THIS CAR WAS BUILT IN 2009 IT'S DEFINITELY A SAFETY ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED, OVER 1600.00 REPAIR A COUPLE OF YEARS AGO
BREAKS CONTINUALLY HAVE TO BE PRESSED ALMOST TO THE FLOOR TO STOP, EVEN WITH BRAND NEW BREAKS INSTALLED. PULLED IN TO PARK AND WENT OVER SMALL POTHOLE, TRIED TO BRAKE BUT BREAKS DID NOT ENGAGE FOR A SECOND AND VEHICLE KEPT ROLLING. EVENTUALLY STOPPED BEFORE HITTING CAR IN FRONT OF ME. MECHANIC SAYS THE ABS VALVE IS STUCK OPEN AND IT SHOULD BE RECALLED BY FORD. FOR SOME REASON MY CAR WASN'T PART OF THE 2010 FORD FUSION RECALL FOR ABS BREAKS?
''POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT'. THE POWER STEERING IN MY VEHICLE WAS RENDERED COMPLETELY USELESS. FORTUNATELY THIS OCCURRED WHEN I STARTED MY CAR IN THE MORNING INSTEAD OF MID-DRIVE WHICH COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC AS THE CAR IS ESSENTIALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER EFFECTIVELY WITHOUT POWER STEERING.
The power steering went out on this vehicle and after research I found that other years have had recalls on it. Although this year was not in the recall it still uses the same parts

Recall 21V-158 for the driver’s side front airbag has yet to have a remedy or even an update for any of the drivers of affected vehicle including myself. Would at least like some insight as to why there’s no way to get this solved yet
The power steering does not work at low speeds-it seems to work ok when I am going fast and I have a few friends/family that have Ford Fusions that have the same problem. I cannot turn without using every muscle in my arms to turn the vehicle, making driving almost impossible. The first time it occurred I was turning into my driveway and almost went down the embankment. I was stopped by a huge rock and messed up the whole front end! I got that fixed a little, the bumper is hung by zip ties and four mechanics I talked to do not know how to fix it because there is no power steering pump.

The NHTSA Recall 21V-158 has been outstanding for more than a year. The letter I received from Ford stated that "parts are anticipated to be available in the third quarter of 2021" which is now more than six months ago. I don't want to lose an eye or be killed by my airbag. Yet, the timeliness of the repair by Ford fails to show any urgency.
I received a safety recall (NHTSA Recall 21V-158) regarding my 2010 Ford Fusion in April 2021 for an issue with the driver airbag inflator. This recall has still not been addressed by Ford, and I have not received any additional information from them regarding the status of the recall since April 2021. Consumer's wife will no longer be using the SRX, dangerous vehicle. Speaking to their attorney.
I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR *2010 FORD FUSION SEL* FOR 4000 MILES AND THE POWER STEERING JUST STOPPED WORKING ALL TOGETHER. IT SAYS THIS COULD BE UPWARDS OF 2000 DOLLARS. I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING BACK HOME AND THE 'POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT' MESSAGE CAME UP ON MY DASH. I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THAT WAS ABOUT UNTIL AFTER ABOUT 4 MILES WHEN I WAS SUPPOSED TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY BUT THE STEERING JUST WOULDN'T TURN. I IMMEDIATELY FREAKED OUT. I KEPT GOING STRAIGHT FOR A BIT AND I THEN TRIED TO FORCE IT TOWARDS THE RIGHT SHOULDER (THANKS GOODNESS I WAS ON THE RIGHT LANE ALREADY) BUT AS I STARTED TO SLOW DOWN THE CARS BEHIND ME WOULD HONK AND THE PASSAGENS WOULD STARE AT ME WHILE PASSING LIKE IF I WAS TRYING TO MESS WITH THEM ON PURPOSE. THAT WAS SCARY AND EMBARRASSING. TURNED THE EMERGENCY LIGHTS ON AND PULLED OVER TO CALL A FRIEND WHO KNOWS A BIT ABOUT CARS. I WAS TOLD I WAS OK TO FORCE THE STEERING IN ORDER TO GET HOME, ALTHOUGH I WAS SO SURE IT WAS GOING TO LITERALLY BREAK AND COME OFF IN MY HANDS. AFTER AROUND 13 MILES I GOT HOME AND MY NOW BOTH ARMS ARE TOTALLY SORE AND I'M NOT KIDDING. I WASN'T EVEN ABLE TO MANEUVER THE CAR INTO MY SMALL GARAGE SINCE IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL IF THE CAR IS FULLY STOPPED. THE CAR IS THERE... PARKED AND USELESS. I JUST CALLED FORD AND I WAS TOLD I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR THE TOW TRUCK TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, FOR THE DIAGNOSTIC AND TO GET THE CAR FIXED. SERIOUSLY? I'M AN COLLEGE STUDENT FULL OF STUFF TO PAY AND ALWAYS LIVING IN A BUDGET. I HAVE A ADVANCE TRAC LIGHT AND POWER STEERING LIGHT I CURRENTLY DON'T HAVE AND POWER STEERING
HELLO, MY NAME IS [XXX]. RECENTLY I BOUGHT A FORD FUISION 2010. I AM PRETTY FAMILIAR WITH CARS SO I UNDERSTAND THE COMMONLY ROUTINE OF TAKING CARE OF A CAR. IT'S BEEN ONLY 30 DAYS. THE FIRST FIRST INCIDENT THAT HAPPENED ON THE PARKWAY MY CAR SHUT COMPLETELY DOWN. I GOT IT TO WORK BACK UP BUT THEN I GOT A MECHANIC TO DO A TUNE UP. EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTH UNTIL I DROVE ABOUT 3,000 MILES INTO THE CAR & IT TOLD TO ME CHECK THE ENGINE OIL AND THE BRAKES. BY THE TIME I WENT TO START MY CAR UP THE LIGHTING SLOWLY FADED AWAY. EVENTUALLY THE CAR SHUT OFF COMPLETELY AND ALMOST ROLLED DOWN THE HILL. I IMMEDIATELY PUT THE CAR INTO PARK AND PUT ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKES. NOW THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. I REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS AND EVERYTHING. I'VE BEEN READING ABOUT RECALLS ON THE MODEL OF THE FORD FUSION 2010. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IF I COULD EITHER GET IT FIXED OR POSSIBLY A LETTER TO GET A NEW OR SIMILAR VERSION FROM THE CAR MODELS DEALERSHIP. DRIVING ON RAINY DAY, ON A BUSY STREET. CARS IN FRONT SLAMMED THEIR BRAKES AND I SLAMMED MINE. MY CAR SLID A LITTLE AND THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKES ENGAGED. AFTER THAT, MY BRAKES DID NOT GO BACK TO NORMAL. I NEEDED TO ADDITIONAL DISTANCE TO BRAKE AND WHEN I WOULD BRAKE, THE PEDAL WOULD GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP. I AM WAITING TO HEAR FROM MECHANIC TO SEE WHAT THE PROBLEM IS.

ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM FAILURE WHILE DRIVING AT NORMAL SPEEDS. THIS IS THE EXACT SAME SYSTEM AND FAILURE ADDRESSED IN SAFETY RECALL 15S18 BUT FOR SOME REASON IT DOESN'T INCLUDE 2010 FORD FUSION MODELS BUT INCLUDES ALL OTHER 2011-2012. EVEN WITH THE EXACT POWER STEERING SYSTEM AND FAILURE. RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO INCLUDE 2010 MODELS.
THIS IS A FORD FUSION HYBRID 2010 VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS VEHICLE WON'T STOP AFTER DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED FEW TIME BUT NOT ALWAYS. WE CAN'T DRIVE THIS VEHICLE DUE TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE. ALSO WE WENT LANDERS FORD COLLIERVILLE TN. THE REPORT THAT THE BOOSTER AND ABS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED COSTING ABOVE $ 2500. It's been over a year since I was notified of a safety recall in which the driver's side airbag could explode and injure or kill myself or my passengers, yet there is no fix available, and I have not been offered a safe car to drive in. Instead my passengers and I are in danger daily.
I STARTED MY CAR TODAY AND WHILE PULLING OUT OF THE GARAGE I ALMOST HIT THE SIDE I HAD NO POWER STEERING AND THE DASH SAID POWER STEERING ASSIST SO I BACKED IN BY MUSCLEING THE WHEEL, NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE BUT IT WAS KIND OF SCARRY,
A WARNING CAME ON TO "SERVICE POWER STEERING SYSTEM NOW" AS WELL AS "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC SYSTEM". STEERING IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. I USED A PROGRAM I HAVE TO RESET THE POWER STEERING MODULE AND IT WILL START WORKING AGAIN UNTIL I POWER OFF THE CAR. THE PROBLEM STARTS AS SOON AS I TURN ON MY CAR. ONCE IT HAPPENS, AFTER RESETTING THE MODULE, IT DOESN'T SEEM TO HAPPEN AGAIN UNTIL I TURN THE CAR OFF.
ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE DRIVING AND WITHOUT WARNING. ALMOST CRASHED, AS THE STEERING FAILED JUST AS I WAS TAKING A TURN. 1800 REPAIR. I HAVE HAD THE CAR FOR A YEAR, IT HAS 86000 MILES ON IT AND IT IS JUNK. I AM MORE CONCERNED WITH THE FACT THAT I NEARLY CRASHED THAN THE MONEY (ALTHOUGH I DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO REPAIR IT)
TOOK VEHICLE IN TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP TO FIX BRAKES AFTER REAR BRAKES WERE COMPLETED AND FORD REPLACED THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER IN ATTEMPT TO BLEEDING THE BRAKES FORD CONFIRMED THE BRAKE CONTROL MODULE IS BAD AND NEEDS REPLACED. THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL CURRENTLY FOR THIS PART HOWEVER DO TO NO REMEDY REALESED BY FORD YET THAT CLAIMED IT WOULD BE AVAILABLE 1ST QUARTER OF THE YEAR 2021 ITS STILL NOT AVAILABLE TODAY'S DATE 03/09/21 . FORD REFUSES TO PUT HER IN A VEHICLE TILL PARTS BE COME AVAILABLE AND SAYS SHE CAN BUY THE PART NOW FOR 1700.00 THEN WHEN PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE THEY WILL POSSIBLY REPLACE AGAIN FREE OF CHARGE, NOW I DONT BELIEVE ITS LEGAL FOR HER NOT TO BE TAKEN CARE OFF OVER A SAFETY RECALL AND BE BASICALLY TOLD TO KICK SAND . ANY HELP OR ANSWERS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED THANK U AND ALSO VEHICLE WAS DETERMINED NOT SAFE TO DRIVE BY FORD.
OFTEN THE "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" WARNING WOULD COME ON WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FIRST STARTED AND STATIONARY. TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTING WOULD CLEAR THE ISSUE. HAPPENED AGAIN AND WHEN RESTARTING THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT CLEAR THE ISSUE HAD TO GET THE VEHICLE TOWED. POWER STEERING RACK WAS FOUND TO BE FAULTY AND HAD TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $2745.76. CALLED FORD TO CLAIM THAT THIS WAS THE SAME PROBLEM COVERED BY THE 2011-2012 FUSION RECALL AND SHOULD BE COVERED BY FORD WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE WAS "TOO OLD." I AM NOW IN A FIGHT WITH FORD TO CONVINCE THEM TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND FIX THE PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE WELL AWARE OF.
THE PASSENGER DOOR LATCH BROKE ON THE INSIDE MAKING THE LOCKING MECHANISM NOT WORK OR THE OUTSIDE LATCH . I HAVE SEEN A RECALL ON OTHER MODELS AND MAKES FOR THIS BUT NOT MINE .
OVER A DOZEN TIMES, BEGINNING MARCH 2021, WITH ABOUT 109000 MILES, THE BRAKING SYSTEM FAILS WITH NO WARNING WHILE DRIVING AND AT TIMES AT A STOP LIGHT (THE CHECK BRAKE/ ALL TRAC LIGHT AND CHIME COME ON, BUT IF THE RADIO IS ON, IT IS NOT HEARD). THE BRAKE PEDAL MUST BE PUSHED ALMOST ALL OF THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO REGAIN BRAKING POWER, BUT IN ALL OF THE INCIDENTS I WAS CAUGHT OFF GUARD, PUTTING MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS IN HARM'S WAY. ONCE THE CAR IS TURNED OFF, AND RESTARTED, ON MOST OCCASIONS THE BRAKES RETURN TO NORMAL FOR A WHILE (SOMETIMES, THIS HAS TO BE DONE MULTIPLE TIMES BEFORE THIS "FIX" WORKS). HOW CAN THIS HAZARD NOT BE ADDRESSED WITH ALMOST 200 COMPLAINTS? THANK YOU.

TWO DAYS AGO, AFTER PARKING, I TURNED CAR OFF. WHEN I WENT TO GO TURN CAR BACK ON, THE LIGHT SHOWED UP AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. SO I TURNED CAR OFF AND BACK ON BUT THIS TIME, THE STEERING WHEEL STAYED LOCKED AND ERROR MESSAGED REMAINED ON. I TRIED IT TODAY AND IT IS STILL IN THE SAME CONDITION. THE CAR WILL START BUT STEERING WHEEL WON'T MOVE.

WHILE PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT, MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND A MESSAGE CAME UP 'SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC - SERVICE POWER STEERING'. IT'S ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND GOT THE COMPUTER RESET. IT WAS FINE FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN LOCKED UP AGAIN WITH THE SAME MESSAGE. I HAVE A FRIEND WITH THE SAME MAKE MODEL AND YEAR THAT HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN TO HER. BOTH ELECTRIC POWER STEERING AS WELL. I KNOW THAT THERE WAS A RECALL INVESTIGATION ABOUT '10-'12 FORD FUSIONS ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SPECIFICALLY BUT THAT WAS CLOSED. REALLY LOOKING FOR SOME HELP HERE. I DON'T WANT TO PAY A MONTHS WORTH OF MY HARD EARNED MONEY FOR SOMETHING THAT CAN OR WILL BE RECALLED.

I WENT TO WORK AND IN THE MORNING I STARTED IT AND THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT LIGHT CAME BACK ON. I TURNED IT OFF AND ON A COUPLE MORE TIMES, BUT IT WOULDN'T GO OFF. I GOT IT HOME AND THERE IT SITS.

I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN A WARNING LIGHT ALERTS APPEARED AND SAID POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. THEN THE CAR SUDDENLY BECAUSE VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. FOLLOWED BY TRACTION CONTROL WARNING. I HAVE SERVICE THE VEHICLE AS REQUIRED AND HAVE RECORDS IT HAS BEEN SERVICED IN A TIMELY MANNER FOR ITS LIFE TIME.
