TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH AND TURNING LEFT, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AND THE "STEERING WHEEL DEFAULT" WARNING MESSAGE ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO A TREE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND DEEMED DESTROYED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V793000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE ELECTRONIC STEERING ASSIST ... STEERING ON MY FORD FUSION IS STARTING TO FAIL I SAW THE WAS A RECALL FROM SAME ISSUE ON 2011 AND UP I CONTACTED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM THEY SAID THEY WAS NO RECALL FOR MY YEAR MODEL .. WHEN IM EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM .. THE STEERING WHEEL HAS LOCKED ON ME 2 TIMES WHILE I WAS AT WORK AT WALMART ON 9/25/ 2016. AT 44665 VALLEY CENTRAL WAY, LANCASTER, CA 93536 .. BUT FORD REFUSED TO FIX THE PROBLEM . THEIR ONLY ADVICE WAS TO TAKE CAR AND PAY THE REPAIR OUT OF MY OWN POCKET
IT'S THE RECALL WITH THE THROTTLE BODY. I'VE TAKEN CAR BACK 3 TIMES ALREADY. FIRST THEY REPLACE PURGE VALVE. THEN LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND CAR WAS JUMPING FORWARD. NOW THIS IS 3RD TIME LIGHT BACK ON AND NOW THEY WON'T FIX CAR UNLESS I PAY. THEY SAID IT'S ALL A PART OF THE SAME SYSTEM BUT I NEED TO PAY FOR A LEAK THAT IS COMING FROM FILTER NECK. SO I LEFT. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS. THIS IS A RECALL. DOES THIS QUALIFY UNDER LEMON LAW? THIS CAR SCARES ME TO DRIVE. DRIVE WITH BOTH FOOT ON GAS AND BRAKES.
STEERING SENSOR FAULT/ SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC.... 95,000 MILES. COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING AT A SPEED OF 2-25 MPH.... 2011-2012 MODELS RECALLED, HOWEVER 2010 NOT COVERED AND HAS THE SAME TRW GEN 1 EPAS MODULE!?!
TAMARA RECALL I TOOK MY CAR INTO A FORD DEALERSHIP ON 9/25/17 FOR A FUEL TANK AND CANISTER PURGE VALVE INSPECTION AND REPAIR (16B338C) AND THEY GOT IT FIX. I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE AIRBAG RECALL AND THEY SAID THEY DON'T HAVE ANY INSTRUCTIONS FOR THAT YET, SO I'M CURRENTLY WAITING FOR AN AIRBAG REPLACEMENT. I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER A YEAR.
POWER STEERING FAILED TRYING TO GET OF PARKING SPACE, SHUT DOWN ENGINE WAITED 5 MINUTES AND RESTARTED ENGINE...POWER STEERING WAS BACK, TOOK CAR TO FORD DEALER AND THEY ARE GOING TO REPLACE STEERING CONTROL ASSEMBLY AT $1900.00 COSTLY FIX..
POWER STEERING SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING AND NOW THE SERVICE POWER STEERING WARNING IS COMING ON AND WE CANT RESET IT. WE WERE DRIVING ON THE ROAD WHEN THIS HAPPENED, AND NOW HAVE NO POWER STEERING.
DRIVING HOME FROM WORK MY STEERING ASST FAULT LIGHT CAME ON AT THE STOP LIGHT AND THE CAR BECAME DIFFICULT TO DRIVE FOUGHT THE CAR HOME. DAYS LATER GOT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO TELL ME THE POWER STEERING GEAR NEED TO REPLACED TO THE TUNE OF 1800. TO NO FAULT OF MY OWN. THE RECALL ONLY INCLUDED 2011-2013 WHEN MY CAR IS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING NOTED IN THE OTHER RECALLS

IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT HEARD A RATTLING NOISE. IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STUDS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 11V574000 (WHEELS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.

2 WARNING SERVICE ERRORS WILL SHOW UP AND POWER STEERING BECOMES DISABLED AS DRIVING ON RESIDENTIAL STREET. POWER STEERING BECAME COMPLETELY DISABLED BY THE TIME THE TOW TRUCK CAME TO PICK IT UP. MECHANIC STATED IT WAS THE SAME CODES AS THE RECALL FOR 2011 FORD FUSIONS. HAD TO TAKE IT TO THE FORD DEALER TO HAVE IT CORRECTLY FIXED. STATED IT WAS THE STEERING RACK ASSEMBLY. LOOKED UP ISSUE AND MANY OTHERS WITH FUSION HAS THE SAME EXACT ISSUE BUT NO RECALL ON 2010 MODELS. SAME ISSUE AND FIX FOR THE FORD FUSIONS WITH RECALLS (2011 AND ABOVE) EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND COULD HAVE CAUSED A LIFE THREATENING CRASH. LUCKILY MY FIANCE (FUTURE HUSBAND) WAS DRIVING THE CAR AS I WOULD HAVE NOT BEEN STRONG ENOUGH TO SAFELY PULL OVER BY TURNING THE WHEEL.
POWER STEERING SYSTEM FAULT MESSAGE CAME ON WHEN STARTING THE CAR. RESTARTED THE VEHICLE BUT MESSAGE REMAINED. DROVE HOME 45 MILES WITHOUT POWER STEERING. NEXT TIME I STARTED THE VEHICLE POWER STEERING WAS FINE. STOPPED AT FORD DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE IF MESSAGE WAS BEING DISPLAYED. MESSAGE AGAIN APPEARED APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS LATER BUT WENT OFF WHEN VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER FORD DEALER AND DESCRIBED THE PROBLEM (OCTOBER 5, 2016). THEIR DIAGNOSTIC INDICATED THAT THE POWER STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THIS APPEARS TO BE THE SAME PART THAT WAS RECALLED ON 2011-2013 FORD FUSIONS. THE PART HAS BEEN REPLACED AT A COST OF APPROXIMATELY $1,800.
I WAS DRIVING AND I LOST STEERING I HAD HAD NO CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE I ALMOST CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE ON A SEMI BUSY STREET, THEN THE SERVICE POWER STEEING NOW LIGHT CAME ON. I HAD NO STEERING I CAME TO A STOP PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RESTARTED IT. THE SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW LIGHT CAME BACK ON. I COULD NOT GET THE STEERING BACK I COULD NOT TURN THE WHEEL. MY HUSBAND HAD TO COME GET THE CAR BECAUSE IT WAS TO HARD FOR ME TO STEER. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED MORE THAN 60 MILES BECAUSE WE DONT HAVE A DEALERSHIP WHERE WE LIVE. THE SERVICE TECH CALLED ME TO LET ME KNOW IT WAS A FAILURE ON THE POWER STEERING AND THE COST WAS AROUND 2500.00 TO REPLACE IT.
POWER STEERING FAILED. I HAD TO HAVE THE UNIT REPLACED. VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN AND PARKED. IT SET FOR ABOUT A WEEK BEFORE IT WAS DRIVEN. THE POWER STEERING WAS NOT WORKING WHEN I DROVE IT THE NEXT TIME.
TAKATA RECALL THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WAS RECALLED OVER A YEAR AGO AND THE PART IS STILL UNAVAILABLE FOR REPAIR OF THE AIRBAG. THE CAR IS IN ONE OF THE STATES THAT HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS A HIGH HUMIDITY, AND THEREFORE, A HIGH RISK STATE.

THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAD A FLAT TIRE AND WAS UNABLE TO LOOSEN THE LUG NUT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (BERGSTROM FORD OF FOX VALLEY IN NEENAH, WI, 920-727-9000) FOR TIRE ROTATION, BUT THE TECHNICIAN REFUSED TO ROTATE THE TIRES WITHOUT CHANGING ALL THE LUG NUTS AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT UNLESS THERE WAS A RECALL, THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED BY THE CONTACT'S FRIEND. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
I RECEIVED A RECALL ON THE FUEL SYSTEM OF MY 2010 FUSION. I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP IN APRIL 2016. THEY INSPECTED THE SYSTEM AND SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE. NO PARTS WERE REPLACED. A FEW MONTHS LATER, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, INDICATING THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH MY FUEL SYSTEM. THE RECALL WAS ON THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE, WHICH IS THE EXACT PART THAT NEEDS TO NOW BE REPLACED. I RETURNED TO THE SAME DEALERSHIP AND ASKED WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO TO FIX IT. THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD NO LONGER FIX THIS PROBLEM UNDER THE RECALL BECAUSE THEY HAD PREVIOUSLY INSPECTED IT, AND IT WAS FINE. THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM THAT SHOULD OCCUR ON RELATIVELY NEW CARS, AND FORD HAS ALREADY ADMITTED TO PUTTING IN FAULTY CANISTER PURGE VALVES. I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HIT ANOTHER DEAD END. BOTH CLAIM THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE BECAUSE IT IS NOT AN "OPEN RECALL". I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT BECAUSE IT SHOULD BE AN OPEN RECALL. JUST BECAUSE A CRACK HAD NOT FORMED IN APRIL, DOESN'T MEAN THAT THE EXACT PROBLEM THAT COULD CAUSE A CRACK TO FORM DIDN'T EXIST THEN. THE DEALERSHIP MISSED THE PROBLEM, AND NOW FORD IS NOT BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR MISTAKE IN MANUFACTURING.

POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING GOT MESSAGE THAT SAID POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT ,IM 225 AND COULD NOT TURN WHEEL AT ALL. SHUT OFF CAR LET SIT FOR A SHORT TIME STARTED BACK UP EVERY THING WORKED AS IT SHOULD, IVE HAD THIS HAPPEN 3 TIMES HOPE IT DONT HAPPEN WHEN GOING AT HIGH SPEED
MY DAUGHTER'S 2010 FORD FUSION POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING AFTER AND WAS BECAUSE SHE HAD A LOW TIRE. THE ADVANCE TRAC SYSTEM LIGHT IS ON BUT NO POWER STEERING. WE'VE HAD IT LOOKED ATBUT NOBODY CAN GIVE ME A SOLUTION AND IT'S A $100 JUST TO HAVE THE DEALER RUN A DIOGNOSTIC ON IT. I'VE BEEN DOING SOME RESEARCH AND THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE FUSIONS AND MOST ARE REPLACING THE WHOLE STEERING RACK AVERAGING AROUND $1500 TO REPLACE. I THINK FORD NEEDS TO DO A RECALL BECAUSE OF THE DANGER OF THE POWER STEERING GOING OUT WHILE DRIVING.
POWER STEERING. THIS IS 7TH TIME I TAKING MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP IN THE PAST 2 YEARS, AND 3 TIMES THIS JUST PAST MONTH. THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATCH DOES NOT OPEN. I AM STUCK IN THE CAR UNLESS I ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW AND OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE WHICH IS NOT THAT EASY.. THIS WILL PROBABLY RESULT IN MY HAVING TO REPLACE THE WINDOWS MOTOR!
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A MOUNTAIN PASS AND A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON STATING "POWER STEERING SENSOR FAULT" AND AT THE SAME TIME MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO SO I MANHANDLED IT UNTIL I GOT TO MY OFFICE BUT HAD A DIFFICULT TIME MAKING A LEFT TURN AND COULD NOT MANHANDLE IT INTO A PARKING SPACE; I HAD TO FIND ONE I COULD DRIVE STRAIGHT INTO. WHEN I CAME OUT A COUPLE HOURS LATER, THE POWER STEERING WORKED. I TOOK MY CAR TO RIVERSIDE FORD IN SUMNER, WA TO GET THIS FIXED AND THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS GO ONLINE AND YOU WILL SEE MANY STATING THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I AM WORRIED ABOUT OTHERS OUT THERE WHO HAVE A SUDDEN LOSS OF STEERING. MY DAUGHTER'S 2010 FORD FUSION POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING IT. SHE DIDN'T CRASH THE CAR BUT IT MADE IT HARD TO TURN. HE LOW TIRE INDICATOR LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE POWER STEERING JUST WENT OUT. WE GOT THE TIRE PRESSURE BACK BUT NOW THE POWER STEERING WON'T WORK. WE HAD ONE MECHANIC LOOK AT THE CAR BUT HE SAYS IT'S THE STEERING RACK AND THOSE CARS ARE KNOWN FOR THIS ISSUE. I'VE RESEARCHED THIS AND SEE THERE HAS BEEN LOTS OF COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND THINK FORD NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT BAD OR KILLED. I ALSO OWN A 2012 FORD FUSION AND THE FUEL PUMP WENT OUT IN IT AND I HAVE SEEN THAT THIS IS A ISSUE WITH THIS YEAR. THE COST OF THAT REPAIR WAS $555 AND THE STEERING RACK CAN RANGE FROM $1200 TO $1600 AND IF FORD DOESN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT EITHER ISSUE THEN I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER FORD VEHICLE AGAIN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC STEERING ASSIST ASSEMBLY WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 69,784.
TAKADA AIRBAG RECALL- THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A FEW YEARS WITHOUT NOTICE OF HOW TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS. I HAVE RECENTLY MOVED AND LOST THE PREVIOUS NOTICE. I AM DRIVING THE CAR TO AND FROM WORK DAILY AND FEEL I AM IN DANGER ON A DAILY BASIS THAT THE AIRBAGS ARE NOT REPLACED.
MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, SETTING IN A PARKING LOT. WHEN I WENT TO BACK OUT OF A PARKING SPOT, I GOT AN INDICATION ON MY DASH "POWER STEERING FAULT" AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS UNMOVABLE.
IN SPRING OF 2014 WHILE DRIVING IN MY MILITARY BARRACKS PARKING LOT WITH A PASSENGER THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY LOCKED UP WHILE TURNING CAUSING THE VEHICLE FIGHT BACK FROM THE TURN. POWER STEERING FAILURE AND SERVICE ADVANCETRAC NOTIFICATIONS APPEARED. I THEN HAD TO PARK THE VEHICLE WITH NO POWER STEERING AND HAD A FELLOW SERVICE MEMBER LOOK AT THE VEHICLE AND WE DETERMINED TO TAKE IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. THE FORD DEALERSHIP CLAIMED IT TO BE A RANDOM ISSUE AND CHARGED 1700$ TO REPLACE THE PIN AND STEERING RACK. TWO YEARS LATER IN SEPTEMBER 2016 WHILE DRIVING THE POWER STEERING FAILED AGAIN IN THE SAME MANNER. I CONTACTED THE SAME FORD DEALERSHIP IN WHICH THEY STILL CLAIMED IT TO BE A RANDOM FAULT AND IT WAS TWO MONTHS OUT OF WARRANTY FOR THE STEERING RACK AND PIN AND WOULD CHARGE ME 1700$ TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING AGAIN. I HAVE SINCE DROVE WITHOUT DUE TO NOT BE WILLING TO PAY TO REPLACE IT AS IT WAS TOO COSTLY TO CONTINUE TO REPAIR THE ISSUE.
SEVERAL MONTHS AGO, IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION, MY CAR UNEXPECTEDLY SHOOK AND WENT TO "LIMP" MODE IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY INTERSECTION WITH THE WRENCH LIGHT COMING ON. I PULLED INTO THE CLOSEST DRIVEWAY AFTER PUTTING ON MY HAZARDS AND, AFTER TURNING OFF THE ENGINE, RESTARTED THE CAR, WHICH TOOK ABOUT ABOUT 5 SECONDS OF TRYING TO TURN OVER THE IGNITION. SINCE THAT TIME, THE SAME PROBLEM HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST TWO DOZEN TIMES, SOMETIMES SEVERAL TIMES IN A ROW; AND THE REST OF THE TIME, THE RPMS FLUTTER IN AN IRREGULAR WAY. I DO MOSTLY CITY DRIVING AND HAVE THANKFULLY BEEN ABLE TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT WHEN HAVING TO PULL OVER AND RESTART; BUT IN EACH CASE, IT IS NOT A GOOD SITUATION. BY ALL ACCOUNTS ONLINE, THIS IS A VERY FREQUENT PROBLEM AND DUE TO A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY. NOTABLY, THE PROBLEM WITH MY CAR BEGAN TO OCCUR AT AROUND 45,000 MILES, WHICH IS TYPICAL FROM WHAT I'VE READ OF OTHER COMPLAINTS. THIS SEEMS MUCH TOO EARLY, MUCH TOO COMMON, AND MUCH TOO DANGEROUS OF A PROBLEM FOR IT NOT TO BE COVERED UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY OR RECALL. THERE WAS, IN FACT, AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT IT EXPIRED IN EARLY 2015. I WAS TOLD BY THE LOCAL DEALER THAT IT WOULD COST $600 TO REPAIR.
UNABLE TO STEER CAR. CAR WAS STATIONARY. CAR WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT. WAS LEAVING THE SITE. I STARTED CAR AND WHEN I STARTED TO MOVE I REALIZED THE STEERING WAS NOT WORKING. I WAS UNABLE TO STEER CAR. IMMEDIATELY STOPPED AND CALLED AAA FOR A TOW TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. *TR
WHEN BACK UP FROM PARKING SPOT AND GARAGE, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED. "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" MESSAGE SHOWED ON THE DASH. HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE WEEK, SENT THE CAR TO DEALER TO CHECK. BUT, THE DEALER COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THE DEALER'S ACTION WAS RESET THE SOFTWARE CODE. IT HAPPENED AGAIN DURING THE WEEKEND. THE CAR WAS SENT BACK TO THE DEALER. THE WHOLE STEERING GEAR WAS REPLACED AND COST $1670.

THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSIS OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT OF NO RECALLS RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER ACKNOWLEDGED THAT OTHER VEHICLE OWNERS HAD FILED COMPLAINTS IN REGARDS TO THE STEERING WHEEL FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
WHILE IN MOTION DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE STOPPED RESPONDING TO THE ACCELERATOR. THE WRENCH AND BATTERY LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE CAR LOST DRIVE AND ELECTRICAL POWER (NO POWER BRAKES OR POWER STEERING). AFTER ROLLING TO A STOP, THE CAR COULD BE RESTARTED FOLLOWING A FEW MINUTE PAUSE. THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE RESET. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE, I EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER STEERING FOLLOWED BY THE POWER STEERING/ADVANCE TRAC FAILURE LIGHT APPEARING ON THE DASH. I CAREFULLY PULLED OVER AND HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. FORD DETERMINED I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE PSCM R&R STEERING GEAR AT A COST OF $1919.63
ON 6/2/15 WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY AT 70 MPH, CAR STARTED SHAKING, SPEED DROPPED, COULDN'T ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO GET CAR TO SIDE OF ROAD. SHUT CAR OFF. AFTER FEW MINUTES STARTED CAR AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT AT 25 MPH TO GET IT OFF FWY BUT WAS OPERATING IN LOW POWER MODE. DROVE IT TO DEALER IN LOW POWER MODE. THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED AND COVERED UNDER FORD RECALL. NOW ON 8/19/16 THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME ON WAY TO WORK. AGAIN HAD MY HUSBAND FOLLOW ME TO DEALER IN LOW POWER MODE. DEALER COULD NOT DIAGNOSE PROBLEM BECAUSE CAR WAS NOT HAVING PROBLEM BY THE TIME THEY GOT AROUND TO IT. THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE PROBLEM SO NOTHING THEY COULD DO. THIS IS THE SAME THING THAT HAPPENED TO ME 1 YEAR AGO SO I FEEL IT IS RELATED TO THE THROTTLE BODY WHICH THEY REPLACED UNDER FORDS RECALL, BUT THEY INSIST IT IS NOT THE THROTTLE BODY. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WHICH FORD KNOWS ABOUT IT BECAUSE THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ONLINE FOR THIS ISSUE. DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO BE SERIOUSLY HURT FOR THEM TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. I HAVE NEVER IN MY LIFE HAD THIS HAPPEN WITH ANY OTHER CARS I HAVE OWNED OVER THE YEARS.
THE POWER STEERING FAILED, FORTUNATELY WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STILL IN THE DRIVEWAY. THE VEHICLE IS USED FOR DAILY COMMUTING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, SO IT WAS VERY LUCKY THAT IT FAILED WHEN THE POTENTIAL DAMAGE WAS MINIMIZED. I HAD TO REPLACE THE STEERING GEAR ASSEMBLY AT A COST OF $1872.69, INVOICE ENCLOSED.
WHILE DRIVING, THE VEHICLE WILL STALL, THE ORANGE WRENCH COMES ON ON THE DASH BOARD. THE CAR WILL REMAIN RUNNING WHILE IDLING ROUGHLY. AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR A FEW TIMES IT WILL START AND APPEAR FINE WITH NO SYMPTOMS AND NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS ON. HOWEVER, THE CAR WILL DO THE EXACT SAME THING RANDOMLY, IT MIGHT BE THE NEXT DAY OR AN HOUR FROM THEN. I CHECKED THE CODE WHILE THE ORANGE WRENCH LIGHT WAS ON AND GOT A P2111 CODE (THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM). CALLED FORD TO HAVE THEM REPAIR IT SINCE IT IS UNDER WARRANTY, AND I WAS TOLD THAT SINCE THE ORANGE WRENCH LIGHT ISN'T ON RIGHT THIS MOMENT, THAT THEY WILL HAVE TO TRY TEST DRIVING IT LONGER TO GET IT TO ACT UP BEFORE FORD WILL ALLOW THEM TO REPLACE IT. THE VEHICLE IS AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW.
THE POWER STEERING COLUMN WENT OUT WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PULL OUT OF DRIVEWAY. WHEN I STARTED THE CAR AND PUT THE CAR INTO REVERSE I IMMEDIATELY HAD AN ALERT ON THE DASH THAT STATED "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED" THEN FLASHED TO "SERVICE AUTOTRAC". THOSE WARNINGS KEPT FLASHING AND I HAD NO POWER STEERING WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE MY CAR 4 MILES TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. I WAS INFORMED THE POWER STEERING WAS NON-REPAIRABLE AND MUST BE REPLACED. THE REPAIR COST ME APPROXIMATELY $2000 AND DESPITE BEING A SINGLE MOTHER I DID NOT HAVE MY CAR FOR THREE DAYS.

I RECEIVED THIS RECALL NOTICE IN SUMMER OF 2016 CALLED FORD FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND EVENTUALLY LEFT MY INFORMATION FOR THEM TO CALL ME WHEN THE PARTS FOR THE REPAIR BECAME AVAILABLE. YESTERDAY, OVER A YEAR LATER I CALLED BACK BECAUSE I HAD NOT HEARD FROM THEM. MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE PARTS AVAILABLE. I FEEL THIS HAS BEEN MORE THAN AN AMPLE AMOUNT OF TIME.

STARTED THE CAR THIS MORNING AND A MESSAGE POPPED UP SAYING POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT TRIED TO MOVE THE CAR BUT COULD NOT MOVE THE WHEELS. THE CAR CAN ONLY GO STRAIGHT. SO I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND IT SEEMED TO FIX. GLAD I WAS NOT DRIVING THE CAR.
THROTTLE BODY HAD TO BE REPLACED WHEN ENGINE WOULDN'T REV ABOVE 1000 RPM...LIMPED A FEW MILES THEN HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED BECAUSE IT'S A MANUAL AND IT WOULD STALL..DESPITE ALL THE INFO ON NHTSA AND OTHER SITES ABOUT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY FORD WAS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE ON THESE, THEY HAVE SAID OUR CARS REPAIR ISN'T COVERED. $300 LATER..AFTER A TOW AND A RUINED TRIP TO PICK UP OUR DAUGHTER FROM HER INTERNSHIP IN NYC, I'M PRETTY DISAPPOINTED.
I WAS PULLING OUT OF THE BANK DRIVE THRU AND POWER STEERING QUIT WORKING AT ALL WHILE I WAS TURNING ONTO THE STREET.
SUDDEN STALLING OR ACCELERATION. ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF DEPENDING ON HOW MANY TIMES I START THE CAR. MY CAR STALLED OUT AND DIED I WAITED FIVE MINUTES AND RESTARTED IT AND IT SEEMED FINE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. NOW MY CAR SUDDENLY STALLS AND I HAVE NO CONTROL ON THE THROTTLE. WHEN I GIVE IT GAS IT JUST CREEPS ALONG. LIMP HOME MODE. I WAS IN OTION ON A CITY STREET AND BARELY HAD ENOUGH CONTROL TO GET OVER ON A SIDE STREET SAFELY WITH MY CHILD IN THE CAR.
