THE STEERING ISSUE ON THE CAR HAPPENED ONLY TWO WEEKS AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. CAR BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER, THOUGHT PERHAPS FOR SOME REASON THERE WAS NO FLUID IN IT. CAM TO LEARN THAT THIS CAR DOES NOT USE A POWER STEERING PUMP, RATHER IT HAS AN ELECTRIC MOTOR THAT ASSISTS THE STEERING. AFTER DOING SOME SEARCHES, I FOUND OUT THAT SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE. CONTACTED THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD TO BRING IT IN TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT, CAME TO LEARN THAT THE POWER STEERING RACK HAD TO BE REPLACED TO THE COST OF 1500.00... I AM BESIDE MYSELF AS I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR!!! THIS IS A RECALL ITEM, BASED ON ALL THE REPORTS OF PEOPLE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE, FORD NEEDS TO STEP UP TO THE PLATE HERE AND REALIZE THEY HAVE A PROBLEM AND BAD DESIGN TO GET THESE COMPONENTS REPLACED OUT ON THESE CARS BEFORE SOMEONE SERIOUSLY GETS INJURED. THE CAR IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER WHEN THIS GOES OUT AND IF SOMEONE LIKE AN OLDER PERSON OR YOUNGER INEXPERIENCED DRIVER RUNS INTO THIS SITUATION THE PROBLEM IS GOING TO CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY... THE FAILURE HAPPENS WITHOUT ANY INDICATIONS. FORD RECALL THE PART AND FIX THESE CARS!!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE AT A STOP SIGN HE WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE WHICH CAUSED HIM TO CRASH INTO THE BACK OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
I WAS IN A LINE OF TRAFFIC TO TURN LEFT AT A TURN SIGNAL. THE CARS IN FRONT OF ME WENT WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED YELLOW, THE TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME STOPPED. I WENT FROM ACCELERATING TO BRAKING, AND THE BRAKE WAS PUSHED TO THE FLOOR, BUT THE CAR WAS STILL ACCELERATING. I OBVIOUSLY REAR-ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. HE SAID HE COULD SEE ME AND LET OFF HIS BRAKE WHEN HE REALIZED MY CAR WASN'T STOPPING. LUCKILY, NO ONE WAS INJURED. I HAVE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE THE CAR LOOKED AT TONIGHT AT A DEALERSHIP. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE WITHOUT INCIDENT, AND I THOUGHT I WAS JUST IMAGINING IT. *JS
TOOK MY FUSION IN FOR OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION. TECHNICIAN NOTIFIED ME THEY CANNOT ROTATE TIRES WITHOUT DAMAGING LUG NUTS. FORD USED SLEEVED LUG NUTS (CHROME SLEEVE OVER STEEL LUG NUT) SO WHEN THE LUG NUT CORRODES UNDERNEATH THE SLEEVE EITHER FALLS OFF (REDUCING THE DIAMETER OF THE NUT SO THE WRENCH ROUNDS OFF THE LUG NUT) OR IT SWELLS (INCREASING THE DIAMETER OF THE LUG NUT SO THE WRENCH WILL NOT PROPERLY FIT ONTO THE LUG NUT). THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. HOW DO YOU PROPERLY ROTATE YOUR TIRES AT THE RECOMMENDED INTERVALS IF THE FACTORY LUG WRENCH WILL NOT FIT THE LUG NUTS? AND IF YOU HAD A FLAT IN A REMOTE AREA HOW COULD YOU CHANGE YOUR TIRE AND DRIVE TO SAFETY? WHEN I CALLED FORD MOTOR CO. THEY TELL ME THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY OR RECALL SO THEY WILL NOT REMEDY THE SITUATION. VERY DISAPPOINTING THAT FORD WOULD PUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AT RISK AND NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT FOR SUCH A BASIC YET CRUCIAL COMPONENT OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
WHEN I START MY CAR AND DRIVE OUT OF PARKING IT SPUTTERS FOR A BIT. THEN LATER ON I WILL COMPLETELY LOOSE THE ACCELERATION. I HAVE TO TURN OFF AND RESTART THE CAR. IT WILL WORK FOR A LITTLE BIT AND THEN I LOOSE ACCELERATION AGAIN. HAS HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY, AT A INTERSECTION, AND SIDE ROADS. I HAD THE THROTTLE REPLACED AND IT STILL HAPPENS...... *TR
GOOD DAY, I BOUGHT MY CAR USED BACK IN 2011. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES IN THE 3 YEARS REGARDING THE TINTED WINDOWS. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY WORK DONE ON THEM WHILE I OWNED THE VEHICLE EITHER. LAST WEEK THE SERVICE STATION REJECTED AN INSPECTION STICKER DUE TO THIS ISSUE. MY WINDOWS ARE AT A 27 AND I WAS TOLD THAT SHOULD BE AT A 35. I HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT CARS TODAY WHO'S TINTED WINDOWS DO NOT LOOK ANY DIFFERENT THAN MINE AT ALL. WHY ARE SOME PEOPLE ALLOWED TO GET AWAY WITH SOME THINGS IF ITS THE LAW... AND OTHERS DO NOT? TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND LOST POWER STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AN HOUR LATER AND RESUMED TO NORMAL. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON THREE DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 52,800.
I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT IN HOPES THAT FORD WILL BE FORCED TO ISSUE A RECALL REGARDING THE DANGEROUS ACCELERATION ISSUE THE FUSIONS ARE HAVING. MY CAR WILL LOSE POWER WHEN DRIVING. I HAVE TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL ALMOST TO THE FLOOR TO GET THE CAR TO ACCELERATE ONCE I HAVE LOST POWER AND THE CAR JERKS AND SPUTTERS. THE ISSUE BEGAN ON JUNE 3, 2014 AND WORSENED TODAY, JUNE 4, 2014. I DO NOT HAVE ANY CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS OR WRENCHES. I HAVE ONLY TRAVELED BACK ROADS AND HAVE NOT DRIVEN THE CAR AT A HIGH SPEED DUE TO FEAR OF HAVING AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS REGARDING A THROTTLE BODY ISSUE. SO, I AM TAKING MY CAR TO A FORD DEALERSHIP ON TOMORROW, JUNE 5TH TO HAVE MY SIMILAR ISSUE DIAGNOSED. I AM CONCERNED BECAUSE THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WILL ONLY BE FOR AN UPDATE TO MY POWER TRAIN SYSTEM; WHICH IS NOT WHAT I READ IN THE LETTER. I WANT TO HAVE MY THROTTLE BODY REPLACED AND THE POWER TRAIN UPDATE SO TO PREVENT ANY FUTURE AND MORE DANGEROUS FAILURES. I AM ALSO FEARFUL BECAUSE OF THE 'ONE-TIME' REPAIR PROGRAM, I WILL BE OUT OF LUCK AND A BUNCH OF MONEY SHOULD MY THROTTLEBODY FAIL AFTER THE POWER TRAIN UPDATE. *TR
WHEN OUR VEHICLE A 10'FORD FUSION SEL SEDAN STARTED THIS THE VEHICLE WOULD START TO SHAKE AND DIE WHEN THE SPEED WOULD EXCEED FORTY MPH THEN AFTER A COUPLE DAYS OF NOT BEIN ABLE TO DRIVE OVER FORTY MPH THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT GO AT ALL IT WOULD START AND JERK AND DIE TO THE POINT THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE DRIVEN. *TR
IT STARTED OUT THAT WHEN I FILLED UP MY FUEL TANK I WOULD TRY TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD NOT START, I WOULD HAVE TO TRY SEVERAL TIMES THEN IT WOULD START. IT THEN STARTED SHAKING AND IDLING ROUGH WHEN I CAME TO A STOP. THEN AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE IT JUST DIED. I WOULD PULL OVER AND START AGAIN THEN WOULD DIE. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE VAPOR LOCK THAT WENT BAD WHICH IN TURN CAUSED GAS TO GET INTO MY OIL. THEY ALSO STATED THAT THIS PART CAUSED FUEL TO GET INTO THE VAPOR CANISTER. RESEARCH HAS SHOWED ME THAT SEVERAL FORD FUSION WITH THE CAP LESS FUEL HAS CAUSED SEVERAL PROBLEMS. THEY HAVE SINCE STATED THEY HAVE UPGRADED THE CAP LESS GAS TANK BUT WHAT ABOUT THE 2010. IT ENDED UP COSTING ME 700 FOR BOTH PARTS BUT THE ISSUE THAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE. EXPERIENCING TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. IN ATTEMPTING TO GET UP TO 60 MPH ON A LOCAL 4 LANE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND LURCHED WHEN ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE GEARS. THE VEHICLE CANNOT ACCELERATE SMOOTHLY AND REVS INCONSISTENTLY. THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED SIMILAR ISSUES AT 30,000 MILES AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS OVERHAULED. *TR

AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO A DEALER TO REPROGRAM THE COMPUTER AND REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE RACK AND PINION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V232000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
AFTER A FILL-UP A SMELT GAS, ONCE I CHECKED UNDER THE VEHICLE I COULD SEE FUEL LEAKING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE GAS TANK. MY MECHANIC HAS REMOVED THE TANK AND FOUND CORROSION AND A SPLIT IN THE TOP OF THE TANK. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW FROM A DEALERSHIP IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA, AND AS FAR AS I KNOW IT HAS NEVER BEEN SUBMERGED IN WATER. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE ROADS WERE BUMPY WHICH CAUSED THE AIRBAG LIGHT TO TURN ON . THE LIGHT DOES NOT TURN OFF EVEN AFTER THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND ON AGAIN. THE CAR IS IN NEED OF REPAIR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE STOPPED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE CHECK ENGINE AND SERVICE ENGINE SOON WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL LINE AND FLAP NEEDED TO BE CLEANED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND FAILED TO RESPOND WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, THE VEHICLE STRUCK A CURB AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,927.
I BOUGHT MY 2010 FORD FUSION SEL V6 WITH 12000 MILES AND DRIVE IT DAILY 120 MILES/DAY TO WORK. IT HAS 106,000 MILES NOW. LAST WEEK, FOR THE THIRD TIME, THE "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW" AND "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" INDICATORS FLASHED ON WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH AT NIGHT, USING CRUISE CONTROL. ARRIVED HOME SAFELY, NEXT MORNING, NO POWER STEERING. DROVE CAR TO FORD DEALERSHIP, WHO HOOKED IT UP TO DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE, AND CLEARED MESSAGES, POWER STEERING NOW FUNCTIONING AGAIN. THE SECOND TIME THIS OCCURRED THE DEALERSHIP LOOKED AT SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE WHEEL ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. I HAVE NOT USED CRUISE CONTROL WITH THIS CAR SINCE THE SECOND EPISODE, NEARLY A YEAR AGO. LAST WEEK, WHEN THE THIRD FAILURE OCCURRED, MY FRIEND WAS DRIVING THE CAR AND HAD ACTIVATED THE CRUISE CONTROL, AND I HAD WARNED HIM THAT I BELIEVED THERE WAS SOME RELATIONSHIP FACTOR WITH USING CRUISE CONTROL AND THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING. I DRIVE QUITE ROUGHLY, AGGRESSIVELY, AND HAVE HIT MANY BUMPS WITH NO LOSS OF POWER STEERING. DURING THE FIRST AND SECOND OCCURRENCE THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS ACTIVATED, A ROUGH SPOT WAS ENCOUNTERED, AND THE "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW -ADVANCETRAC" MESSAGES CAME ON, WITH CONSEQUENTIAL LOSS OF POWER STEERING. NO MECHANICAL WORK SEEMS TO MATTER, ONLY EFFECTIVE ACTION IS CLEARING THE MESSAGES AND REESTABLISHING POWER STEERING BY HOOKING UP TO DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE. I BELIEVE IT IS A SOFTWARE GLITCH MAYBE INVOLVING A SENSOR. I AM NOT A MECHANIC. WILL THE RECALL/REPLACEMENT OF THROTTLE ASSEMBLY SOLVE THIS PROBLEM?? WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OVER 30 MPH THE ENGINE WILL LOOSE POWER AND THE RPMS WILL DROP AND THEN REV BACK UP. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THERE IS A QUICK ACCELERATION, LIKE MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY, PULLING ONTO A BUSY STREET. THE WORST EXPERIENCE HAPPENED JUST LAST NIGHT, MARCH 2,2015. I WAS ACCELERATING FROM A STOP ON TO A BUSY STREET AND THE CAR STUTTERED AND SHOOK AS IF IT WAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE SPEED OF THE CAR AND TRAFFIC WAS COMING TOWARDS ME IN BOTH DIRECTIONS. OUT OF NOWHERE THE VEHICLE CLICKED INTO GEAR AND ACCELERATED. WE REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY LAST YEAR AND ARE STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS. REPLACING THE THROTTLE BODY HAS MADE NO DIFFERENCE. THIS VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN ITS CURRENT CONDITION. *TR
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 19V001000 (AIR BAGS) AND 14E028000 (EQUIPMENT), BUT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE EQUIPMENT RECALL CAMPAIGN AND WAS CHECKING WITH THE MANUFACTURER. AUBURN FORD (1650 GRASS VALLEY HWY, AUBURN, CA 95603, (888) 823-6591) WAS CONTACTED AND WAS AWAITING A RESPONSE FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
I WAS DRIVING AT 50 MPH WHEN THE ENGINE STOPPED WORKING, EVEN AS I FLOORED THE ACCELERATOR. THE LIGHTS, RADIO AND A/C STAYED ON. I HAD TO COAST ACROSS SEVERAL LANES OF AT LEAST 50 MPH TRAFFIC TO THE SHOULDER. AS I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, THE CAR RUMBLED AND SHUDDERED FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. I WAITED A MINUTE, THEN RESTARTED THE CAR AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE. FORD COVERED THE PROBLEM UNDER AN "EXTENDED WARRANTY" FOR A THROTTLE BODY PROBLEM, BUT I FEEL THAT MY SAFETY WAS IN JEOPARDY BY NOT FIXING THE PROBLEM BEFORE MY CAR ENGINE SUDDENLY QUIT AT HIGH SPEED. IN THIS AREA, HAVING A CAR SUDDENLY DIVE FROM 50 MPH TO ALMOST NOTHING CAN GET YOU KILLED. THE THROTTLE BODY PROBLEM SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED BY A SAFETY RECALL, RATHER THAN WAITING TO SEE WHO SURVIVES THE PROBLEM TO TAKE THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE. *TR

THE THROTTLE BODY FAILED ON MY 2010 FORD FUSION THAT I PURCHASED LAST MONTH. THE CAR FELT AS IF IT SIMPLY STOPPED WORKING AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THANKFULLY, IT OCCURRED AT A LOW SPEED, THOUGH IT WAS VERY FRIGHTENING. APPARENTLY, THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND FORD SAYS IT ISN'T COVERED UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT DRIVING THE CAR, AND I FEEL AS THOUGH THIS KNOWN DEFECTIVE PART WILL FAIL AGAIN. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON INTERSTATE, CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND WRENCH CAME ON. TURNED THE CAR OFF AND STARTED IT BACK UP AND THE CAR ACTED FINE BUT REPEATED THIS PROCESS 5 MORE TIMES ON THE WAY HOME.CAUSING CARS TO ALMOST RUN IN TO THE BACK OF THE CAR. FOUND ON LINE WHERE, FORD WAS EXTENDING A WARRANTY ON 2010 FUSION THROTTLE BODY FOR 150,000 MILES. TOOK THE CAR IN TO THE KEITH HAWTHORNE FORD DEALERSHIP IN BELMONT,NC AND SERVICE MANAGER SAID THIS WAS TRUE IF IT WAS INDEED THE THROTTLE BODY. CALLED BACK LATER TO CHECK AND SAID THAT IT WAS INDEED THE THROTTLE BODY BUT MY CAR EVEN THOUGH ITIS A 2010 FORD FUSION WITH LOW MILES IS NOT COVERED BUT HAD NO REASON WHY. *TR
DRIVING ON FWY AT 65 MPH WHEN ENGINE DIES IN MY 10 FUSION! PUSHING GAS PEDAL RESULTED IN NO ACTION RPM GAUGE TO 0 AS I MOVED TO SHOULDER. MY GOD WAS WATCHING OVER ME AS I HAVE NO IDEA HOW I MADE IT TO THE SHOULDER AVOIDING CARS ALL AROUND ME AND NOT CAUSING A WRECK OR GETTING HURT. CAR STARTED UP AFTER 5 MINUTES OF PRAYERS AND DROVE TO DEALER WHO WAS LESS THAN 1 MILE AWAY. CAR DIED AGAIN 200 YARDS FROM DEALERSHIP BUT STARTED UP AND MADE IT TO DEALER. WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE IT SUDDENLY FELT LIKE IT STALLED, BUT IT ACTUALLY HAD NOT. BEFORE I COULD SAFELY PULL OFF THE ROAD IT BEGAN VIOLENTLY JERKING THE WHOLE CAR. GAS AND BRAKE CONTROLS WERE EFFECTED AND THE CAR WAS DIFFICULT TO GET OFF THE ROAD SAFELY AND DIFFICULT TO STOP IT FROM MOVING FORWARD ONCE I GOT OFF THE ROAD. I ASKED THE SERVICE MANAGER TO DROP THE FUEL TANK AND TAKE A LOOK TO SEE WHY IT WAS LEAKING. WE HOPED IT WOULD BE A SEAL, WHICH WOULD NOT BE A BIG DEAL. HOWEVER, THEY FOUND A HOLE IN THE TANK, RUSTED THROUGH 1/4 OF THE WAY DOWN FROM THE TOP OF THE TANK. THE COST OF FIXING THE TANK IS OVER $1700.00, THIS IS BEYOND ACCEPTABLE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED ABOUT 3 TO 4 MONTHS AGO. I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE RECALL AT THAT TIME. BOTH INCIDENTS OCCURRED WITHOUT NOTICE AND WHILE I WAS PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN THE LEFT HAND LANE, THE VEHICLE LOST ALL ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. WHILE ALL OTHER CONTROLS REMAINED (STEERING, BRAKING, HVAC), THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE OR MAINTAIN HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE SERVICE WRENCH LIGHT ACTIVATED ON THE DASHBOARD AND THE VEHICLE INDICATED A TRANSMISSION ERROR. THIS WAS A DANGEROUS SITUATION AS NOT HAVING THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE WHILE ON THE INTERSTATE MAKES IT VERY HARD TO POSITION THE VEHICLE SAFELY ON THE ROADWAY. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A FORD GARAGE WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED AS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE BODY. WHILE IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE, FORD ONLY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE ITEM AND DID NOT RECALL THE VEHICLE. GIVEN THE DANGER ASSOCIATED WITH THE LOSS OF ACCELERATION, THIS VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED BEFORE THE VEHICLE LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE WHILE ON AN INTERSTATE. *TR
WHILE ROTATING THE TIRES, I NOTICED THAT TWO OF THE WHEEL STUDS HAD SHEARED OFF THE FRONT LEFT WHEEL. THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS MODEL OF FUSION BUT MY CAR HAS MANUFACTURED ON 3/28/2009 AND THE RECALL ONLY COVERS VEHICLES MANUFACTURED FROM 4/1/2009 THROUGH 4/30/2009. SINCE MY FAILURE IS IDENTICAL TO WHAT THE RECALL ADDRESSES, I SUBMIT THAT THERE ARE SOME VEHICLES THAT FAILED TO GET COVERED BY THE RECALL AND THE DANGER OF THEM HAVING WHEEL BOLT FAILURES SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY FORD AND A REMEDY OFFERED. I HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER AND HE IS UNABLE TO OFFER A SOLUTION. I ALSO CONTACTED FORD (CASE #CAS4265584) AND THEY REFUSED TO TAKE ANY ACTION. NEITHER OF THOSE CONTACTED COULD OFFER A SOLUTION AND I AM LEFT WONDERING IF THIS VEHICLE IS SAFE TO DRIVE. *TT
2010 FORD FUSION SE 2.6L DROVE VEHICLE TO RESTAURANT FOR DINNER. WHEN WE CAME OUT AFTER APPROX 1 1/2 HOURS STARTED CAR, WITHIN 30 SECONDS "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE" LIGHT CAME ON AND THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING. PUT CAR IN REVERSE, TRIED TO DRIVE BUT WAS SO UNBELIEVABLY TIGHT, COULD ALMOST NOT TURN AT ALL. PUT CAR BACK IN PARK AND TURNED ENGINE OFF. WAITED APPROX 20 SECONDS AND RESTARTED CAR. "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE" LIGHT CAME IMMEDIATELY BACK ON. DROVE ACROSS PARKING LOT TO GAS STATION TO PURCHASE POWER STEERING FLUID AND FOUND OUT THAT MY VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE POWER STEERING FLUID...IT'S ELECTRICAL. WHILE THE ENGINE WAS OFF AT THE GAS STATION EVIDENTLY THE SYSTEM RESET ITSELF BECAUSE WHEN WE RESTARTED THE CAR IT WAS FINE. - I HAD MY FAMILY..2 SMALL KIDS AND HUSBAND IN THE CAR..THIS WAS VERY FRIGHTENING...AFTER DOING ALL THE RESEARCH TONIGHT ABOUT THIS FAILURE...I'M HONESTLY VERY FRIGHTENED TO DRIVE IT ANYMORE. I HAVE MANY FUTURE DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS ABOUT 2 1/2 HOUR DRIVE FROM MY HOUSE COMING UP FOR SURGERY...AND I'M SERIOUSLY QUESTIONING FORD'S THINKING ON NOT RECALLING THE VEHICLES FOR THIS PROBLEM. *TR
I WAS NO LONGER ABLE TO ACCELERATE. THE CAR WAS RUNNING BUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND AS I TRIED TO GIVE THE CAR GAS IT JUST INCREASED RPM'S BUT DIDN'T MOVE THE CAR. I PULLED OFF INTO A PARKING LOT TURNED THE CAR OFF AND ON AND IT BEGAN TO RUN AGAIN, BUT LOST ALL COMPUTER INFORMATION SO THE MECHANIC COULDN'T FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. IT HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE THEN. *TR
THE THROTTLE BODY FAILED CAUSING THE CAR TO LOSE ALL POWER. I MADE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. TURNED THE CAR OFF AND LEFT IT OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES. TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND IT RAN. I TOOK IT TO A DEALER, WHERE FORD REFUSED TO FIX THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH THE PART IS UNDER WARRANTY. DROVE THE CAR FOR THREE WEEKS AFTER THAT WHEN IT OCCURRED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE FORD DEALER WHERE ONCE AGAIN FORD HAS REFUSED TO FIX THE ISSUE. *TR
