I WAS TRAVELING ON ROADWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH WHEN THROTTLE SUDDENLY STOPPED RESPONDING. I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR REPEATEDLY BUT ENGINE APPEARED TO STAY AT IDLE AND VEHICLE SLOWED TO A STOP. A WRENCH SYMBOL LIT UP ON DASHBOARD. SHUT VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED AND ENGINE BEGAN RUNNING NORMALLY. FORTUNATELY THERE WERE NO VEHICLES BEHIND ME OR INTERSECTING WITH ME WHICH I WOULD HAVE HAD TO AVOID. *TR
THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED SOMETHING WRONG I WAS TRYING TO PASS A SLOWER MOVING CAR. I TURNED THE SIGNAL ON, MOVED OVER TO THE PASSING LANE, WENT TO ACCL. AND THE CAR BASICALLY RED LINED AND WENT NO WHERE. SO I DON'T PASS AND GOD FOR BID PULL OUT IN FRONT OF FASTER MOVING CARS. NOW, AFTER DRIVING ACROSS TOWN, AND IT GETS UP TO NORMAL RUNNING TEMPS THE CAR HAS TROUBLE SHIFTING AROUND 3RD THROUGH 5TH GEARS. IT LURCHES LIKE IT WOULD IF A NEW DRIVER IN A MANUAL TRANSMISSION MIGHT DO, UNTIL YOU LET OFF THE GAS AND I GUESS LET THE MOTOR CATCH UP. *TR
THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE ENGINE WENT INTO IDLE AND WOULD NOT MAINTAIN SPEED. *TR
DRIVING IN THE MIDDLE LANE ON THE FREE WAY, GOING 75 MILES PER HOUR AND MY FUSION WENT INTO A POWER DOWN MODE. I TRIED STEPPING ON THE GAS AND THE CAR JUST SLOWED DOWN. I GOT TO THE SHOULDER AND WHEN THE CAR FULLY STOPPED IT STARTING SHAKING UNCONTROLLABLY UNTIL I TURNED IT OFF. I GAVE IT A MINUTE, TURNED IT BACK ON AND WAITED FOR A BREAK IN TRAFFIC. I GOT BACK INTO THE RIGHT LANE AND MADE IT ABOUT 200 FEET BEFORE IT DID IT AGAIN. I PULLED OVER AGAIN AND GAVE THE CAR ANOTHER MINUTE AND WHEN I TRIED TO TURN IT BACK ON IT HESITATED FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS BEFORE IT STARTED AGAIN, AND I CREEPED OFF THE FREEWAY GOING ABOUT 10 MILES AN HOUR UNTIL I REACHED A SAFE SPOT TO PARK IT. IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND IT IS WAITING TO BE SEEN BY A MECHANIC. *TR
THE CAR LOST THROTTLE RESPONSE WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR THEN STARTED IDLING VERY ROUGH. TURNED THE CAR OFF THEN ON AGAIN AND IT WAS FINE UNTIL I PULLED BACK ONTO THE HIGHWAY AND IT LOST POWER AGAIN. I TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR APPROX 30 MIN. TURNED IT BACK ON THEN DROVE TO AN AUTO ZONE AND GOT A P2111 ERROR CODE WHICH STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS STUCK OPEN OR CLOSED. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT MORNING AND THEY STATED THAT IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY AND ESTIMATED COST TO REPLACE WAS $400. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE FUSION. *TR
FUEL INLET ERROR ON DASH..TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD WHEN PULLING OUT. *JB
I BROUGHT MY CAR IN FOR A ROUTINE INSPECTION. WITH ONLY 32,459 MILES (MOSTLY HIGHWAY) I WASN'T EXPECTING ANY PROBLEMS. MY MECHANIC FOUND THAT MY BRAKES WERE SO RUSTED THAT THE REAR ONES WERE FUSED TOGETHER WITH RUST. HE WAS AS SURPRISED BY THIS AS I WAS. I SAW THE PARTS AND HAVE USED THIS SHOP FOR YEARS. HE NEVER SAW ANYTHING LIKE IT IN A CAR WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE. HAS TO BE A DESIGN FLAW, AND POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS. SO $900.00 LATER, I STILL HAVE TO WORRY THAT THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. I DOUBT I'M THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ALONG THE TOLLWAY AND HAD TO SLOW DOWN DUE TO CONGESTION. MY CAR MADE A LUNGE, LIKE A HARD DOWNSHIFT AND WAS LEFT WITH NO RESPONSE FROM THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING AS INDICATED BY THE TACHOMETER AND POWER STEERING, HOWEVER I WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE. AFTER PULLING OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, NEARLY BEING REAR ENDED BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC, I TURNED ON THE FLASHERS AND SHUT THE ENGINE OFF. I LET THE CAR SET FOR ABOUT 30 SECONDS BEFORE RESTARTING. UPON RESTART THE CAR RAN FINE AS THOUGH NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. I HAD A SECOND OCCURRENCE JUST TODAY (8/1/2013). I NOW HAVE AN ENGINE LIGHT AND HAVE READ THE CODE - P2112. THE DEALERSHIP/SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT I CALLED MENTIONED THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE FORD FUSION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE MIL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION POWER. THE VEHICLE STALLED MOMENTS LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE THROTTLE BODY HAD FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY MY CAR WAS RUNNING BUT WHEN I PUSHED ON THE GAS NOTHING WAS HAPPENING AND THE YELLOW WRENCH LIGHT WAS ON IN THE CAR. I HAD TO COAST OUT OF THE WAY OF ALL THE TRAFFIC WITH BEING RAN INTO AND THANK GOODNESS IT WASN'T DURING RUSH HOUR. THIS HAS HAPPENED FIVE TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR USED AND IT DOESN'T EVEN HAVE 65,000 MILES ON IT YET. I HAVE ALREADY TAKEN IT TO THE SHOP AND THEY DETERMINED IT WAS A CLOGGED FUEL INJECTOR. THAT WAS CLEANED IT THE CAR RAN FINE FOR HALF A DAY AND THEN IT DID THE SAME THING TWICE IN ONE DAY WITHIN FIFTEEN MINUTES OF EACH EVENT. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND TURN IT OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON AND ITS FINE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE THROTTLE BODY WHICH SEEMS TO BE THE ISSUE THAT IS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BECAUSE ITS A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE DIES OR GETS HURT WHEN THIS HAPPENS TO THEIR CAR. *TR
I HAVE AN 2010 FORD FUSION SE I BROUGHT THE CAR NOT EVEN A YEAR AGO DEC 2012. YESTERDAY WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY MY CAR LOST ALL POWER GAS PEDDLE DID NOT RESPOND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND WRENCH LIGHT. I CUT THE CAR OFF STARTED IT BACK UP HARD START LET IT SIT RAN FINE WITH NO PROBLEM ALL LIGHTS AT THAT POINT WAS OUT TRIED TO TAKE OFF AGAIN SAME ISSUE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON WITH IT BUT I HAVE BEEN CALLING FORD ABOUT LOST OF POWER FOR LIKE 4MONTHS NOW THEY ALWAYS HAD AN EXCUSE CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING AT APPROXIMATELY 65MPH DOWN A TWO LANE HIGHWAY WHEN I LOST ALL THROTTLE RESPONSE THROUGH MY ACCELERATOR PEDAL. ENGINE WENT TO A VERY "ROUGH" IDLE AROUND 600 - 800 RPM AND THE MAINTENANCE WRENCH INDICATOR LIGHT ILLUMINATED. LUCKILY I WAS TRAVELING DOWN GRADE AND WAS ABLE TO SAFELY COAST THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY. AFTER SAFELY PARKING THE VEHICLE I DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WITH ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE. AFTER HAVING THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A DEALERSHIP THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN SMILED AND TOLD ME IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY THAT WAS MALFUNCTIONING. QUOTED ME ON A PRICE FOR A NEW PART AND LABOR WITHOUT EVEN INSPECTING THE VEHICLE ($352)! IF THIS PROBLEM WAS OBVIOUS TO THE TECHNICIAN WITHOUT THE VEHICLE EVEN BEING CHECKED, WHY HASN'T FORD RECALLED THIS PART? *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, MY CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING AND STARTED TO SLOW DOWN NATURALLY (ALMOST LIKE I HAD MOVED IT INTO NEUTRAL). PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR DID NOTHING, AND ALL MY ELECTRONICS STAYED ON. THE CAR DID NOT SHUTTER OR SHAKE, JUST A NATURAL SLOWDOWN. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO CHANGE LANES QUICKLY ON THE FREEWAY AND PULL OVER. I STOPPED MY CAR AND RESTARTED IT AND EVERYTHING WORKED AS NORMAL. THIS HAPPENED 3 MORE TIMES THAT DAY. I HAVE TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY, BUT HAVE NOTICED ALL THE CLAIMS OVER THE MAST 2 MONTHS IN REGARD TO THIS ISSUE. I CALLED FORD AND THERE IS NO RECALL YET. I AWAIT A CALL FROM THE FORD DEALERSHIP BUT EXPECT IT TO BE THE THROTTLE BODY THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, APPROX. 65-70 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHUDDERS, LOSES ALL THROTTLE RESPONSE, AND THE WRENCH LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATE ON THE DASH DISPLAY. THE VEHICLE DOES NOT SHUT OFF OR STALL, BUT IT DOES ENTER LIMP MODE. ONCE THE VEHICLE IS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED THE WRENCH LIGHT IS NO LONGER ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE WILL OPERATE NORMALLY. THIS SITUATION REPEATED 4 DIFFERENT TIMES ON THE INCIDENT DATE. AFTER SPEAKING WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP THE PROBLEM WAS ACKNOWLEDGED AS A DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY. *TR
DRIVING ~40 MPH, TOOK FOOT OFF ACCELERATOR, WRENCH INDICATOR LIGHT TURNED ON, COULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE, HAD TO ROLL ONTO BREAKDOWN LANE. TURNED ENGINE OFF, COULD NOT START CAR 1ST ATTEMPT. CAR STARTED ON 2ND ATTEMPT, AND THE LIGHT WENT OFF. HAS OCCURRED 4 TIMES NOW, 3 TIMES AT SPEEDS OF ~40 MPH AND ONE TIME WHILE SLOWING DOWN FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT. VERY SCARY FOR THE YOUNG DRIVERS IN MY FAMILY. *TR
TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70MPH USING CRUISE CONTROL, WHEN THE WRENCH SYMBOL APPEARED ON THE DIAL AND THE CAR SLOWED WAY DOWN AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. WE WERE ABLE TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, WAITED A FEW MINUTES TO RESTART AND WERE ABLE TO DRIVE AWAY AT NORMAL SPEEDS. THIS HAPPENED TWO MORE TIMES WITHIN THE 2 HOUR TRIP. WE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND WERE TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS THE THROTTLE BODY AND THAT IT HAD TO BE REPLACED, BUT THERE WERE NO PARTS AVAILABLE IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY AND THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER UNTIL PERHAPS 2 MONTHS. WE WERE TOLD THIS IS A FAIRLY COMMON PROBLEM, BUT THERE WAS NO RECALL FORTHCOMING. I BELIEVE THIS IS POTENTIALLY A LIFE-THREATENING PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE COMPANY. I'M GETTING MY CAR BACK FROM THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I NEED TRANSPORTATION AND HAVE NOT BEEN OFFERED A LOANER FOR THE DURATION OF THE TIME IT WILL TAKE TO GET THE NEW PART. I WILL BE LIVING IN CONSTANT FEAR THAT THE PROBLEM WILL RECUR AND I COULD BE LEFT STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AT SOME POINT WHEN THE CAR WILL NOT RESET. *TR
THE CAR HAS DIED UNEXPECTEDLY. THE WRENCH AND ENGINE LIGHT WILL GO ON, IT DID IT ONCE ON JULY 27, AUG. 24 AND 25 AND ON SEPT 4, IT DIED TWICE ON THE FREEWAY IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. THE FORD SERVICE DEPT. DIAGNOSED IT AS A "FALTERING THROTTLE BOX". THERE IS A WAIT OF A MONTH FOR THESE. *JB
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER, THE WRENCH LIGHT TURNED ON AND IT BEGAN TO SHAKE AS IF DRIVING ON A RUMBLE STRIP. I HAD TO PULL THROUGH THREE LANES OF TRAFFIC DURING RUSH HOUR WITHOUT POWER JUST TO REACH THE SHOULDER. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND HAD TO GATHER MYSELF, REALLY HAPPY NOT TO HAVE BEEN HIT BY OTHER VEHICLES. I ATTEMPTED TO TURN THE VEHICLE BACK ON AFTER A FEW MINUTES AND THE LIGHT HAD TURNED OFF AND EVERYTHING WORKED FINE. THE SAME THING HAPPENED THE NEXT MORNING ON A RESIDENTIAL STREET. TAKING THE CAR INTO A FORD DEALER AS SOON AS I CAN. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE AT APPROX. 65MPH DOWNHILL WHEN I LOST THROTTLE POWER. WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND I COULD NOT ACCELERATE. I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO BOTTOM OF HILL. TURNED OFF CAR AND RESTARTED AND DROVE A FEW MILES WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN. APPEARS TO BE THROTTLE BODY ISSUE THAT MANY OTHERS ARE HAVING. CONTACTED FORD DEALERSHIP AND OBTAINED NEW THROTTLE BODY. WILL BE PUTTING IN NEW THROTTLE BODY TOMORROW. FORD DEALERSHIP PARTS EMPLOYEE STATED THAT I SHOULD SAVE MY RECEIPTS AS A RECALL IN THE FUTURE COULD RESULT IN REIMBURSEMENT FOR MY NEW PART. THIS REALLY NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT BY FORD BEFORE SERIOUS INJURIES ARE INCURRED. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON I-85 SOUTH APPROXIMATELY 50-60 MPH IN MODERATELY HEAVY TRAFFIC, BETWEEN EXITS 27 AND 26, THE CAR SOUNDED LIKE IT DROPPED OUT OF GEAR WHILE ACCELERATING. I WAS ABLE TO MERGE TO THE SHOULDER OF THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR CONTINUED DECELERATING AND THE "WRENCH LIGHT" APPEARED. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL. WHEN STOPPED (AT THE RAMP FOR EXIT 26), THE CAR RATTLED AND IDLED VERY HARD AND WAS SHAKING. THE BATTERY LIGHT APPEARED, THEN THE OIL LAMP APPEARED AND THE CAR SHUT OFF COMPLETELY. I WAS TOWED AN HOUR LATER TO KEITH HAWTHORNE FORD IN BELMONT. ON MONDAY, JULY 29, 2013, THE SERVICE MANAGER, STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY HAD FAILED; WHEN THEY HOOKED-UP THE CAR TO THE TESTING MACHINE, IT DID NOT SHOW ANY CODES. THEY REPLACED THE FAILED THROTTLE BODY, I PAID FOR REPAIRS AND HAVE THE FAILED THROTTLE BODY IN MY POSSESSION. *TR
MULTIPLE INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WILL BE CRUISING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THEN LOSE ALL ENGINE POWER AND THE CAR BEGINS TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY. I NEED TO PUT MY HAZARDS ON AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHEREVER I AM, INCLUDING BUSY TRAFFIC. THE CAR CONTINUES TO SHAKE WHILE SHIFTING INTO PARK. AFTER IN PARK, I TURN THE CAR OFF, WAIT 30 SECONDS, THEN START IT AGAIN. THE SHAKING CEASES UPON RESTARTING, AND WILL DRIVE FINE FOR 5-10 MINUTES BEFORE REPEATING THE INCIDENT OVER AGAIN AND LOSING ALL ENGINE POWER. A FORD DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A FAILED THROTTLE BODY. THE REPAIR COST OVER $500. *TR
WHEN TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD IN TYPICAL CONDITIONS THE POWER COULD CUT OUT ON THE ENGINE. ELECTRICAL POWER WOULD STILL BE ON BUT NO POWER WOULD GO TO THE ENGINE FORCING ME TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND RESTART. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND CAUSED A MINOR BUMP WITH A TRAFFIC BARREL. FORD LISTS THIS AS SERVICE NOTICE WHEN IT SHOULD BE A RECALL, I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED HAD I NOT HAD ENOUGH ROOM TO AVOID THE SEMI TRUCK SPEEDING BEHIND ME. *TR
DRIVING DOWN A SIX LANE HIGHWAY AT 50 MPH, CAR SUDDENLY SHUTS DOWN, BARELY IDLING. WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO GET OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WHERE THE CAR STALLED. WAS TOWED TO A SHOP WHERE THE PROBLEM WAS MISDIAGNOSED AS A BAD BATTERY. NEW BATTERY PUT IN AND SAME PROBLEM HAPPENED 36 HOURS LATER. COMPUTER WAS CHECKED THIS TIME AND WAS GIVING A P2111 ERROR CODE WHICH IS A STUCK THROTTLE BODY SENSOR. COULD HAVE BEEN A REAL PROBLEM IF THE EVENT HAPPENED AT INTERSTATE SPEED, OR MAKING A LEFT TURN IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. INTERNET IS FULL OF SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM THE STORE TODAY ON A 4 LANE ROAD AND WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN WHEN THE CAR POWERED DOWN TO 1 MPH AND STAYED THERE. THANKFULLY THE CAR I TURNED IN FRONT OF HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO SLOW DOWN TO AVOID ME. I TRAVELED TWO BLOCKS HOME AS THE CAR ONLY ALLOWED ME TO GO 1 MPH WITH THE WRENCH LIGHT ON AND WITH A SLIGHTLY JERKY RIDE. I CALLED MY LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND THEY GOT ME IN TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT. I ASSUMED BAD GAS OR A FUEL LINE NEEDED TO BE CLEANED, BUT ALSO THOUGHT IT WAS ODD THAT A THREE YEAR OLD CAR NEEDED ANY WORK. THEY TROUBLESHOOTER AND CLEANED THE FUEL LINES AND TOOK OUT THE MOISTURE THEY THOUGHT WAS CAUSING THIS. THE MECHANIC THEN TOOK IT FOR A TEST RUN IN THE LOCAL PARKING LOT WHERE THE CAR SHUT DOWN ON HIM AND ONCE HE RESTARTED THE CAR RAN FINE. HE SAID NO CODES CAME UP BUT WITH INVESTIGATING ONLINE HE FOUND IT TO BE THE FUEL THROTTLE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND HE WOULD CALL ME FOR AN ESTIMATE AND THAT I MIGHT WANT TO JOIN THE COMPLAINT ISSUE ONLINE. I WILL RECEIVE MY ESTIMATE ON MONDAY. FORD REALLY NEEDS TO TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMERS. I HAVE NO PROBLEM PAYING FOR A WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE. I DO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH COMPANIES IGNORING CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS AND NOT TACKLING THE ISSUE BEFORE A DEATH ENSUES. IS IT REALLY WORTH SOMEONE BEING SEVERELY INJURED OR KILLED OVER SAVING YOUR NAME? FUNNY PART IS THAT I CHOOSE TO GO BACK TO AN AMERICAN MADE CAR AFTER WANTING TO SUPPORT THE RECOVERY AND FELLOW FAMILY MEMBERS THAT WORK FOR FORD. I WILL NEVER FORGIVE FORD IF THEY DO NOT TAKE CARE OF THIS AND IF MY CAR IS $400.00 OR MORE IN REPAIR. THIS HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES NOW AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. PLEASE HELP. *TR
THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE. WHEN I REACH SPEEDS AROUND 45 AND ABOVE, THE CAR SEEMS TO STALL AND THE THROTTLE CUTS OUT, LEAVING ME WITHOUT A WAY TO ACCELERATE. CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE ENGINE WOULD RESTART BUT RAN VERY ROUGH. I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE OTHER OCCASION WAS AT AN INTERSECTION. BOTH TIMES THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO AUTONATION IN UNION CITY, GEORGIA. THE THROTTLE BODY WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. *TR

CAR LOST POWER WHILE DRIVING AT 45 MPH, AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES OF DRIVING. IT WOULD NOT RESPOND TO ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THE WRENCH LIGHT WENT ON. I PULLED OFF TO SIDE OF ROAD; CAR RESTARTED AFTER 2-3 TRIES; DROVE WITHOUT INCIDENT FOR NEXT 1500 MILES. I WAS DRIVING TO WORK YESTERDAY MORNING AND ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED BY A SEMI WHEN MY CAR LOST POWER. AFTER WORK I TOOK MY CAR TO THE MECHANIC AND HE VERIFIED THAT THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE THROTTLE BODY. AFTER FINDING THIS OUT I DID SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND FOUND THAT THIS APPEARS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. CAR WAS IDLING IN PARK. PUT CAR IN DRIVE, STARTED MOVING FORWARD SLOWLY AND THE ENGINE STARTED TO SHAKE, LOST THROTTLE CONTROL, CHECK ENGINE AND WRENCH LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. ENGINE DIED WITHIN ABOUT 10 SECONDS. TURNED THE IGNITION OFF AND RESTARTED THE CAR. IT RAN NORMALLY FOR ABOUT 25 FEET AND EXHIBITED THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS BEFORE. RESTARTED THE CAR AGAIN AND WAS ABLE TO LIMP THE CAR TO A SUITABLE PARKING SPACE ABOUT 250 FEET AWAY. AFTER SITTING FOR A MINUTE WITH THE CAR OFF, I STARTED IT AGAIN AND IT RAN NORMAL FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. I DROVE TO THE NEAREST AUTOZONE AND HAD THEM SCAN THE COMPUTER CODES. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY STILL IN THE SHOP WAITING FOR THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY TO BE AVAILABLE TO REPLACE THE FAULTY PART. I WAS DRIVING IN WINDBER, PA GOING AROUND A SHARP TURN WITH A TRI AXLE COAL TRUCK ON MY BUMPER, AS I WENT TO PRESS THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR MADE A POP NOISE. I LEFT THE CAR SIT BECAUSE I WAS GOING TO A APPOINTMENT IN SOMERSET I DID NOT WANT TO BE LATE, WHEN I RETURNED FROM THE APPOINTMENT THE CAR STARTED RIGHT UP NO WRENCH LIGHT I DROVE TO LAUREL FORD, I WENT IN TALKED TO THE SERVICE REP THEY LOOKED OVER MY CAR AND ADVISED ME THAT THE COMPUTER DID NOT LOCATE A PROBLEM, BUT THEY HAVE FOUND THAT THE THROTTLE BODY HAS BEEN THE PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL OF CAR. HE EXPLAINED THAT THE PART WAS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER AND WAS UNSURE WHEN HE COULD GET THE PART. I DROVE THE CAR HOME THAT DAY WITH NO PROBLEM, I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE CAR AGAIN TO GO TO WORK ON TUEDAY 7 MILES FROM HOME THE CAR DID THE SAME THING WENT TO GIVE IT GAS AND THE CAR SHUT OFF I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND IT STARTED BACK UP NO WRENCH LIGHT. WENT TO WORK GOING HOME FROM WORK IT DID IT AGAIN AND NOT ONLY THE WRENCH LIGHT BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL. I GOT THE CAR HOME CALLED LAUREL FORD AND TOOK THE CAR TO THEM FOR REPAIR THERE IS NOT PART TO BE FOUND ITS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER AND ITS BEEN TWO WEEKS I HAVE CALLED FORD AND HAVE NOT GIVEN ME A TIME OR DATE OF WHERE THE PART IS OR IF THE PART IS AVAILABLE. UNDER FURTHER INVESTIGATION, APPEARS THIS IS A COMMON FLAW WITH THE CAR. THE FACT THAT IT IS GOING TO TAKE 2 MONTHS TO GET REPAIRED SUGGESTS THAT IT IS HAPPENING TOO OFTEN.
