TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING FAILED TWICE AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED THE SERVICE LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE DECREASED THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE WHENEVER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 41,000. *TR
THIS MORNING WHILE TRAVELING THE INTERSTATE WITH CRUISE CONTROL SET AT 75MPH MY CAR HAD A SWIFT JERKING MOTION AND LOST ALL ACCELERATION ACCIDENT WAS A NEAR MISS TRYING TO GET OFF HIGHWAY TO EMERGENCY LANE. TOWED TO FORD DEALER AND RIGHT AWAY THEY KNEW IT WAS A THROTTLE BODY FAILURE. CAR SHOWED NO SIGNS OF ANYTHING BEING WRONG UNTIL INCIDENT OCCURRED. THROTTLE BODY REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE DUE TO THEY SAY NOT COVERED UNDER POWETRAIN WARRANTY. FORD OBVIOUSLY KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS AND REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT AT THIS TIME. HAVE READ SEVERAL FORUMS OF NUMEROUS OTHER PEOPLE WITH SAME PROBLEM AND RAN ACROSS ARTICLE OF YOUR INVESTIGATION OF FORD. FORD SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THERE FAULTY PARTS. IN THE RIGHT SITUATION SOME IS GOING TO LOSE THERE LIFE RELATED TO THIS PROBLEM. *TR
1ST INCIDENT: CAR STALLED IN TRAFFIC WHILE GOING 40 MPH, COASTED INTO PARKING LOT, RESTARTED CAR AND DROVE FINE - NO WARNING LIGHTS 2ND INCIDENT: 6 WEEKS LATER WITH NO ISSUES OR WARNING LIGHTS CAR STALLED AGAIN LATE AT NIGHT WHILE GOING 35 MPH UP A SMALL RISE 3RD INCIDENT: 2 DAYS LATER - STILL NO WARNING LIGHTS, CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER, DID NOT STALL, BUT WOULD NOT GO OVER 5 MPH WHILE ENTERING ATTEMPTING TO ENTER INTERSTATE. SAT ON SIDE OF INTERSTATE FOR 45 MINUTES WAITING ON A TOW TRUCK. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY WHICH COST $385. THE NOTES ON THE INVOICE STATE THEY "RETRIEVED CODE P2111 THROTTLE SYSTEM STUCK OPEN." I FEEL CERTAIN FORD HAS SOME SERIOUS ISSUES WITH THESE CARS AS THE TRANSMISSION HAS ALREADY HAD TO BE REBUILT.
I WAS DRIVING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. THEN I NOTICED IT READ " ADVANCED TRAC NEEDS SERVICE" AND " SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW." I HAD NO WARNING PRIOR TOO THIS. IT COST AT LEAST $100 JUST TO TAKE A LOOK AT IT AND FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAYS IT MAY COST BETWEEN 200.00 TO 1000.00 + DOLLARS TO FIX IT. I NOTICED SEVERAL COMPLAINT ABOUT THIS AND I'M A LITTLE CONCERNED AND UPSET THAT THIS DOESN'T HAVE A RECALL BY NOW. *TR
I HAVE A 2010 FORD FUSION, MY CAR STARTED SURGING FOR ABOUT 20 MILES THEN AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, IT LOST ACCELERATION, THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING, BUT IT LOST SPEED IT WOULD NOT GO, I PUSHED THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND WITHOUT WARNING, IT QUIT GOING! I HAD TO TRY TO GUIDE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I PUT MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON AND SAT ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I CRANKED IT BACK UP AND DROVE A FEW MORE MILES SURGING AND IT CUT OFF WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AGAIN, VERY DANGEROUS. I GOT IT TO THE ADVANCE AUTO PARTS AND THEY PUT A DETECTOR ON IT AND IT SAID IT WAS THE THROTTLE SENSOR. THIS IS VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE IS INJURED OR KILLED. *TR
ELECTRIC POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AT 45 MPH. CAR COULD NOT BE MANUVERED WITHOUT EXTREME DIFFICULTY. ALL INDICATIONS LED TO A FAILED ELECTRIC POWER STEERING RACK. HAD IT REPLACED WITH A PART FROM A SALVAGED VEHICLE WITH LIGHT SIDE DAMAGE AND 25,000 MILES. WORKED FINE FOR 3 DAYS, FAILED AGAIN AT 50 MPH. TOO DIFFICULT AND NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, WILL BE TOWED TO DEALER. NEED FORD TO OWE UP ON THIS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, WHEN SUDDENLY MY CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE. I NOTICED THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON BEFORE THE CAR CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I THEN HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE EVALUATED. THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG, BECAUSE THE WRENCH LIGHT WAS OUT. I THOUGHT THAT WAS VERY STRANGE BECAUSE A CAR JUST DOESN'T STOP AND LOOSE POWER FOR NO REASON. I TOOK THEIR WORD FOR IT AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. ON APRIL 19, 2013, I WAS DRIVING TO WORK WHEN MY CAR BEGAN TO SHAKE, THIS TIME THE WRENCH LIGHT AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON BEFORE MY VEHICLE CAME TO AN ABRUPT STOP. UNLIKE THE FIRST INCIDENT, I WAS ALMOST IN A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT. THE CARS BEHIND ME HAD TO SWERVE TO AVOID HITTING EACH OTHER INCLUDING THE BACK OF MY CAR. I WAS FURIOUS BECAUSE I FELT THE FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT PUT MY LIFE IN DANGER BY NOT LOOKING INTO THE PROBLEM FROM THE FIRST INCIDENT. I HAD MY CAR TOWED A SECOND TIME, THIS TIME THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A DEFECTED THROTTLE BODY. THEY EXPLAINED THEY CANT DIAGNOSE A PROBLEM WITHOUT A CODE, EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE WRENCH LIGHT AND THE POWER LOSS OF MY VEHICLE. I HOPE FORD TAKE CARE OF THE THROTTLE BODY ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED. MY SAFETY WAS IN DANGER BECAUSE OF THIS MALFUNCTION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE WRENCH WARNING ICON AND THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AS THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURE RECURRED TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,353. *TR
THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. AS I AM DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD BOTH ACCELERATING OR AT A CONSTANT SPEED, THE WRENCH LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THE VEHICLE WITH NO LONGER HAVE THROTTLE ABILITIES. I HAVE TO PULL OFF TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD BECAUSE NOTHING WORKS. AS THE VEHICLE STOPS AND I SHIFT INTO NEUTRAL, THE VEHICLE SHAKES EXCESSIVELY. I SHUT THE VEHICLE OFF, WAIT A MINUTE, TURN IT BACK ON AND THE WRENCH IS GONE AND THE VEHICLE RUNS PROPERLY UNTIL THE NEXT OCCURRENCE. FORD HAS BEEN NOTIFIED ABOUT THIS FOR YEARS AND REFUSES TO PUT OUT A RECALL ON THE THROTTLE BODY WHICH IS THE PROBLEM. *TR
ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS MY CAR HAS STARTED TO STALL OUT AS I BEGAN TO ACCELERATE. THE FIRST TIME HAPPENED WHEN EXITING THE HIGHWAY, WHERE I CAME TO A YIELD SIGN, I THEN PROCEEDED TO ACCELERATE ONTO THE ROAD AFTER YIELDING AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND STARTED TO HAVE JUMPY MOTIONS AND KEPT REVVING EVERY TIME I WOULD TRY TO STEP ON THE GAS PEDAL. I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT AT THAT TIME. THEN ONE DAY ON ANOTHER EXIT ONTO THE HIGHWAY WITH BUSY TRAFFIC I SLOWED DOWN TO SEE IF TRAFFIC WAS CLEAR TO MERGE AND WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC IT REPEATED THE SAME SYMPTOMS. THE LAST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS I WAS EXITING THE HIGHWAY AND ONCE AGAIN TRIED TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN BUT IT ALSO HAPPENED AT THE RED LIGHT DIRECTLY AFTER THE MERGE. I WAS NOT TRYING TO ACCELERATE TOO QUICKLY ON ANY OF THE OCCASIONS BUT IT MAKES IT EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO GET THE PROBLEM CHECKED OUT AND THEY CAME BACK THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY ON MY 2010 VEHICLE WAS BAD AND THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE IT. THEY THEN PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT THE PART WAS ON BACKORDER AND I WAS NUMBER 2 ON THE LIST TO RECEIVE THE PART BECAUSE THEY HAVE THREE CARS IN THE SHOP WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THIS SEEMS TO BE A REGULAR OCCURRENCE WITH MY TYPE OF VEHICLE IN MY SEARCH FOR ANSWERS I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE FORUMS WITH PEOPLE POSTING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. THE FORD ASSOCIATE ALSO TOLD ME THAT THE PART SHOULD BE RECALLED BUT HE WASN'T SURE THAT IT EVER WOULD. AS SOMEONE WHO DRIVES FREQUENTLY ON THE HIGHWAY THIS IS A HUGE CONCERN TO ME THAT I WILL GO TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC AND END UP SERIOUSLY INJURED BECAUSE MY CAR WON'T ACCELERATE. NEEDLESS TO SAY IT HAS BEEN ALMOST TWO WEEKS SINCE I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND I AM STILL WAITING ON THE PART FROM FORD. *TR
AT ANY GIVEN TIME, USUALLY WHEN WE ARE DRIVING THE CAR OVER 25 MILES AN HOUR, THE CAR WILL ABRUPTLY STUTTER AND THEN STALL. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION SINCE WHEN I AM ON THE INTERSTATE, THE VEHICLE WILL TURN OFF WHILE WE ARE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. WE HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ISSUE AND SEVERAL HUNDRED OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WHICH APPEARS TO BE WITH THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY. WE CALLED FORD AND THEY SAID THAT WE NEED TO TAKE IT IN. FOR A POTENTIAL SERIOUS DANGEROUS SITUATION, THERE WAS A LACK OF CARE AND CONCERN ON THEIR PART. I BELIEVE THAT SOMEONE SHOULD INVESTIGATE THE STALLING OF THIS VEHICLE AND MANDATE THAT FORD RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM. *TR
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON ALONG WITH A WRENCH LIGHT. THE CAR NO LONGER ACCELERATES AND STARTS STOPPING. WHEN THE BRAKE IS APPLIED IT STARTS SHAKING. IT HAS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES SINCE THE FIRST OCCURRENCE WITH THE LAST ON THE EXPRESSWAY WITH MY DAUGHTER DRIVING. SHE AS TRAVELING IN THE LEFT LANE WHEN THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING AND EVENTUALLY CAME TO A STOP. SHE MANAGED TO SOMEHOW GET IT OVER TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER AS IT WAS DYING AND SHAKING. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH AND THIS APPEARS TO BE A KNOWN DEFECT WITH THE THROTTLE BODY. I TOOK THE CAR IN AND THERE IS A NATIONAL BACK ORDER ON THE PART SO IT CAN'T BE REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY. IT SEEMS IF THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND CAN BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS THAT THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. *TR
WE WERE TRAVELING AT ABOUT 30 MPH ON A MODERATELY BUSY STREET. ALL OF A SUDDEN OUR CAR LOST POWDER. IT WOULD BARELY MOVE. LUCKILY WE WERE NOT ON A BUSY FREEWAY OR WE WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT BY ON COMING CARS. WE WERE ABLE TO GO CHUG, A CHUG OVER TO A NEARBY PARKING LOT. WE TURNED OFF THE IGNITION AND TRIED TO DECIDED WHAT WE SHOULD DO. MY HUSBAND STARTED THE CAR AGAIN AND IT SEEMED TO BE WORKING. WE MANAGED TO GET HOME. WE DROVE IT AROUND LOCALLY FOR THE WEEKEND WITHOUT A PROBLEM. ON TUESDAY I WAS ON A CURVING TWO LANE ROAD AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I WAS ABLE TO GO CHUG, A CHUG UNTIL I REACHED A LOCATION WHERE I COULD PULL OVER TO TURN OFF THE IGNITION. WE IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT OUT TO A FORD DEALER. THEY SAID IT NEEDED AN ENTIRE THROTTLE POD. THEY REPLACED IT FOR $685.00. DRIVING HOME WE REALIZED THAT THE ENGINE DIDN'T RETURN TO IDLE AFTER TAKING OUR FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE RPMS WERE SET TOO HIGH FOR SAFE DRIVING. THE CAR CREEPS EXCESSIVELY AT STOPS. THE ENGINE CONTINUES TO ACCELERATE WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE. AT TIMES, WHEN WE DO PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND THEN REMOVE OUR FOOT, THE CAR HAS CONTINUED TO ADVANCE FOR EIGHT BLOCKS WITH NO FOOT ON THE PEDAL. WE TOOK THE CAR BACK AND WERE TOLD THE CAR WAS SET THAT WAY FROM THE FACTORY BECAUSE IT DOESN'T HAVE A "HILL ASSIST" AS THE 2013 CARS HAVE. THESE PROBLEMS ARE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR SAFE DRIVING. *TR
WAS AT A STOP SIGN WAITING FOR TRAFFIC COMMING OFF OF THE FREE WAY. THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME ACCELERATED TO MERGE AFTE I HAD A OPENING TO MERGE I ACCELERATED TO MERGE AND THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND I HIT HIM FROM BEHIND. THERE WAS OVER $8,000 IN DAMAGE.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2010 FORD FUSION HOME FROM WORK LATE AT NIGHT AND IT STARTED SPUTTERING AND SLOWING DOWN. THE CAR SHUT DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF AN AROUND ABOUT, THANK GOD A POLICEMEN WAS BEHIND ME, BECAUSE IF NOT I WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND. I WENT THE NEXT DAY TO HAVE THE CODE PULLED FOR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND FOUND OUT THE THROTTLE BODY IS STICKING OR GOING BAD. UPON MY RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET I FOUND OUT THAT IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THE 2010 FORD FUSIONS AND FORD HAS REFUSED TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS PART. I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE I DIDN'T EXPERIENCE ANYMORE PROBLEMS UNTIL AGAIN I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK, LATE AT NIGHT AND THE CAR DID IT AGAIN THIS WAS 5/21/13, DID I MENTION I AM 6 MONTHS PREGNANT. I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED BECAUSE THE CAR SLOWED NOW IN THE MIDDLE OF A 2 LANE ROAD AND THEN CAME TO AN COMPLETE STOP. I TURNED MY FLASHERS AND THE CAR THAT WAS BEHIND WENT AROUND, I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND WAIT ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND THE CAR STARTED BACK UP BUT IT WAS STILL SPUTTERING LIKE IT WANTED TO CUT OFF, BUT I WAS ABLE TO MAKE LESS THAN ONE MILE TO MY HOME. THIS PART GOING BAD ON THESE FORD FUSION IS AN SERIOUS ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESS BY FORD, AN RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NOW THAT I AM READY TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY IT IS ON BACKORDER HERE IN GA AND THE DEALERSHIPS HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THEY WILL RECEIVE ANY SHIPMENTS. PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS PART AND MAKE FORD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FINANCIAL COST OF THESE REPAIRS. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *TR

AFTER THE VEHICLE SAT FOR A CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TIME IT WAS RESTARTED AND OPERATED AS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT NO CAUSE FOR FAILURE WAS FOUND. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 43,000.
I WAS TURNING OUT OF MY STREET AT APPROX. 5 MPH IN MY 2010 FORD FUSION AND HEARD A CHIME LOOKED ON DASH AND IT READ "ADVANCE TRAC NEEDS SERVICE" ALSO THE LIGHTS FOR ABS, TRACTION CONTROL AND EMERGENCY BRAKE WERE ILLUMINATED. THE STEERING WHEEL GOT VERY STIFF AND I COULD NOT TURN MAKING ME HIT A CONCRETE BARRIER. CAR HAD NO WARNING BEFORE STEERING WENT OUT. PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM I SEE IT IS VERY COMMON FOR 2010-2012 FORD FUSIONS. CAR IS AT DEALERSHIP NOW AND HE THINKS IT MAY BE THE STEERING RACK, WHICH IS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE TO FIX ESPECIALLY WITH 0 WARRANTY WHICH EXPIRED LAST DECEMBER. *TR
I WAS DRIVING THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY, AND THE CAR ENGINE DIED. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE LANE AND HAD TO COAST TO THE RIGHT SHOULDER IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. I TOOK MY CAR TO MY MECHANIC SINCE THE CAR WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. HE CLEANED THE INJECTORS AND THROTTLE BODY. IT APPEARED TO FIX THE CAR. HOWEVER, A FEW DAYS LATER THE CAR DIED AGAIN, BUT THIS TIME I WAS ON A TOLLWAY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC GOING 70 MPH. I HAD TO CLEAR ONE LANE OF TRAFFIC TO MAKE IT TO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT POWER. I HAD TO BE TOWED IMMEDIATELY BY THE TOLLWAY AUTHORITIES, BECAUSE IT IS DANGEROUS BEING STALLED ON THE SHOULDER. MY MECHANIC NOW TELLS ME THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS IS APPARENTLY A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS FORD. *TR
I PURCHASED A USED 2010 FORD FUSION WITH 59674 MILES ON 4/4/13. ON THE DRIVE HOME I EXPERIENCED A LURCHING OCCASIONALLY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM 1ST TO 2ND AND 2ND TO 3RD GEARS. (IT IS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION.) THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS LIT. THE LURCHING CONTINUED TO GET WORSE. IT BUCKED AND IDLED ROUGH. IT DIED SOMETIMES (MOSTLY WHILE IDLING), LEAVING ME BLOCKING TRAFFIC, TILL I COULD PUT IT IN NEUTRAL AND RESTART. THE LURCHING WAS THE MOST CONCERNING, BECAUSE THE CAR BECAME HARD TO CONTROL. I HAD TO WORK HARD TO KEEP FROM GETTING IN AN ACCIDENT. I FOUND THIS SITE AND OTHERS DESCRIBING THE THROTTLE BODY PROBLEMS AND I RECOGNIZED THAT WAS THE EXACT PROBLEM I WAS HAVING. I CALLED TWO FORD DEALERSHIPS, BOTH OF WHOM SAID THEY COULDN'T GET THE THROTTLE BODY BECAUSE SO MANY ARE FAILING THAT THERE IS NOT ENOUGH SUPPLY. ONE DEALER SAID THAT PEOPLE WERE JUST BRINGING IN THEIR FUSIONS AND PARKING THEM AT THE LOT UNTIL A THROTTLE BODY WAS FOUND. AT THE DEALERSHIP, THE CLERK WAS ON THE PHONE WITH THEIR PARTS DEPARTMENT UNHAPPY THAT SHE HAD TO TELL A ANOTHER CUSTOMER IT WOULD BE 3-4 WEEKS BEFORE THEY WOULD GET A THROTTLE BODY FOR THEIR 2010 FORD FUSION (NOT MINE). I BEGRUDGINGLY I AUTHORIZED THE $95 DIAGNOSIS FEE. I WAITED 3 HOURS. THEN SHE TOLD ME THEY SAID IT WAS A FAULTY MAF SENSOR AND WOULD COST $500. I REMEMBERED READING THE COMPLAINTS HERE THAT OTHERS WERE TOLD THE SAME THING, ONLY TO HAVE THE PROBLEM REOCCUR AND THEN HAVE TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY. I CHOSE NOT TO HAVE THE WORK DONE AND LEFT AN ORDER IN THE PARTS DEPARTMENT FOR A THROTTLE BODY. FROM THE MOMENT I DROVE OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP THE CAR WAS WORKING FINE. I THINK THEY CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY. I WILL HAVE MY MECHANIC INSTALL A NEW $70 MAF AND WAIT FOR THE THROTTLE BODY TO FAIL EVENTUALLY, AS I FULLY EXPECT IT TO DO. THE DEALERS KNOW THIS IS A RAMPANT PROBLEM. THIS NEEDS A RECALL! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ALL FOUR DOOR HANDLES FAILED TO OPEN. THE CONTACT HAD TO PULL HARD ON THE DRIVER SIDE LOCK IN ORDER FOR THE DOOR TO OPEN. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A COLLISION CENTER TWICE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
THIS HAPPENED 5 TIMES WITHIN 2 WEEKS BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO GET THE ISSUE DIAGNOSED AND FIXED. I HAVE ONLY OWNED THE CAR FOR 2 MONTHS. THIS HAPPENED AT THE WORSE POSSIBLE MOMENT EVERY TIME. I LIVE IN HAWAII WHICH IS KNOWN FOR ITS 4 LANES OF BUMPER TO BUMPER TRAFFIC (NO FARTHER THAN 20' APART OR SOME ONE WILL PULL IN BETWEEN YOU) GOING 70MPH. THIS INCIDENT HAPPENED 4 TIMES TO ME ON THE HIGHWAY DURING THIS RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. INCIDENT: WAS CASUALLY DRIVING AT A CRUISING SPEED (70 MPH NOT ACCELERATING) WHEN THE CAR SHIFTED TO 1ST GEAR AND IDLED AT 1000-1200 RPMS. I COULD NOT ACCELERATE, AND I COULD NOT SHIFT GEARS MANUALLY (I HAVE THE MANUAL OVERRIDE FEATURE). NOTHING WORKED AND MY CAR QUICKLY SLOWED DOWN TO A CRAWLING SPEED OF ABOUT 10 MPH. I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE. IN HAWAII, THAT MEANS YOU ARE STUCK NEXT TO A CONCRETE MEDIAN LESS THAN 2 FEET FROM THE ACTUAL LANE. THIS MEANT THAT I HAD TO GET FROM THE LEFT LANE ACROSS 3 LANES TRAFFIC TO THE RIGHT LANE WITH CARS NO FARTHER THAN 20' APART GOING 60-75 MPH WHILE I WAS GOING 10 MPH. NEEDLESS TO SAY IT WAS NOT THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY DAY/MONTH/YEAR... THIS HAPPENED 4 MORE TIMES WITHIN THE NEXT 2 WEEKS. FORTUNATELY I LEARNED MY LESSON AND STUCK TO THE RIGHT LANE (OF COURSE ONE OF THESE TIMES THERE WAS NO RIGHT HAZARD LANE EITHER SO I HAD TO DRIVE 10MPH FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES ON THE HIGHWAY BEFORE I COULD GET TO A TURNOFF). WHEN I TOOK IT IN FOR DIAGNOSTICS NOTHING CAME UP ON THE READING. FORTUNATELY MY TECHNICIAN DROVE IT AND IT FAILED ON HIM SO HE WAS ABLE TO FIGURE OUT IT WAS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL. $350 (BASED ON RESEARCH USUALLY COSTS ABOUT $500 BUT I KNOW THE TECH.) LATER I HAVE IT FIXED ENOUGH TO TRADE IT IN FOR A FOREIGN CAR. *TR
I OWN A 2010 FORD FUSION AND I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL GOING DOWN TO THE FLOOR. THE BRAKES ARE SOFT, AND THE BRAKE PEDAL IS NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY. I TOOK IT TO A SHOP TO HAVE THE BRAKES CHECK TO SEE IF I NEEDED NEW BRAKE PADS OR WHAT THE ISSUE WAS. I WAS REFERRED TO THE DEALER FOR POSSIBLE FACTORY WARRANTY BRAKE CONDITION, STATING IT HAS TSB ON BRAKE BOOSTER SWITCH, BRAKE PEDAL LEVEL SWITCH PROBLEM. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES AND THEY STATE THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE BRAKES, BUT WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE BRAKES ARE NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY. THE BRAKE PEDAL IS GOING DOWN TO THE FLOOR WHEN BRAKING IS NOT A NORMAL OPERATION, DRIVING THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS. THE BRAKES FEEL LIKE A SPONGE AND I FEAR ONE DAY THIS CAR IS NOT GOING TO STOP, AND I HAVE EXPLAINED THIS TO THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP AS WELL AS THE MANAGER IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THE ONLY ACTION TAKEN BY THE DEALERSHIP WAS TO BLEED THE BRAKES, WHICH DID NOTHING TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. AT THIS POINT I FEEL I HAVE NO RECOURSE BUT TO PARK THE CAR UNTIL I CAN GET ANOTHER VEHICLE, BECAUSE I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. *TR
THE CAR LOOSES POWER SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR GIVES NO RESULT. THE ENGINE IS RUNNING, BUT I CAN'T GIVE IT ANY GAS. NOW I'M TOLD THAT THE MANUFACTURER ISN'T RELEASING THE PART UNTIL MID-JULY. I HAVE TO DRIVE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE FOR ANOTHER 5 WEEKS WHILE WE WAIT FOR THE PART. ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS AROUND THE INCIDENT DATE, MY 2010 FUSION HAD A SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER ACCOMPANIED BY A ROUGH IDLE. THE "WRENCH LIGHT" CAME ON DURING EACH INCIDENT. EACH TIME I MOVED THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, SHUT IT DOWN AND RESTARTED IT. EACH RESTART TOOK A PROLONGED TIME BEFORE THE ENGINE WOULD TURN OVER. AFTER EACH RESTART, THE CAR RAN FINE. THE FIRST TIME THE INCIDENT HAPPENED I HAD A VEHICLE BEHIND ME AND WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED. I ENDED UP TAKING THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. GIVEN THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE MALFUNCTION SYMPTOMS AS WELL AS THE TRIGGERING OF THE "WRENCH LIGHT" I WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE, THE SERVICE ADVISOR ALONG WITH THE LEAD TECHNICIAN AGREED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS THE LIKELY PROBLEM AND PERFORMED THE REPAIR. DUE TO THE FACT THE CAR WAS APPROX. 3 MONTHS PAST THE 3YRS OF THE 3YRS/36K WARRANTY IT WAS NOT COVERED. THIS REPAIR WAS ALSO NOT COVERED BY THE EPA OR POWER TRAIN WARRANTY NOR WAS IT A COVERED PART ON MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. THIS RESULTED IN A REPAIR BEING PAID OUT OF POCKET. IT DOES SEEM LIKELY THAT FORD MOTOR CO. IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM AS THE REPLACEMENT THROTTLE BODY HAS AN UPDATED PART NUMBER (PART # DS7Z9E926A) FROM THE ORIGINAL LISTED PART. THIS INFORMATION ABOUT THE UPDATED PART NUMBER WAS PROVIDED BY THE SERVICE ADVISOR AT THE DEALERSHIP. IN ADDITION TO THE THROTTLE BODY BEING REPLACED, AN UPDATE TO THE VEHICLE COMPUTER WAS ALSO REQUIRED. I HAD TO SWERVE SHARPLY TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID BEING REAR ENDED BY A SEMI-TRUCK GOING 65 MILES AN HOUR. NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAD THE VEHICULE TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE 3 YEAR WARRENTY HAD EXSPIRED BUT THE VEHICULE ONLY HAD 25000 MILES ON IT.I WAS QUOTED AROUND $600 FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE THROTTLE BODY. THIS PART SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED WITHIN THE AMOUNT OF MILES THAT WEE ON IT. I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 65MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR LOST FUEL PRESSURE. I PUT THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING HAPPENED. DRIVING ALONG IN TRAFFIC ABOUT 40MPH CAR JUST SHUT OFF. PULLED OFF ROAD TURNED KEY OFF AND RESTARTED CAR. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. TOOK CAR TO MY MECHANIC THEY TRIED TO CHECK PROBLEM BUT IT DID NOT STALL FOR THEM. WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN I TOOK IT IN TO THE FORD DEALER THEY SAID THEY JUST GOT A NEW PROGRAM TO TEST FOR SPECIFICALLY THROTTLE TROUBLE. MY CAR FAILED THE TEST AND THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE KIT- COSTING ME $392.20. NOT ONLY WAS IT VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THE CAR NOT KNOWING WHEN IT WOULD JUST STOP RUNNING BUT IT WAS EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE. I HAVE STOPPED DRIVING THE CAR BECAUSE THE LAST THROTTLE FAILURE OCCURRED AS I CROSSED A BUSY 4 LANE HIGHWAY AND COULD'VE RESULTED IN A DEADLY ACCIDENT. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO HAVE THE PROBLEM FIXED IN APRIL, MY LOCAL DEALER CLAIMED FORD HAD PLACED A "HOLD" ON ALL THROTTLE BODIES AND THAT A NEW DESIGN OF THE THROTTLE BODY PART WAS BEING SHIPPED FROM THE SUPPLIER IN MID-MAY. (THE DEALER ALSO INFORMED ME THAT, DESPITE THIS BEING A PART OF THE ENGINE, THE THROTTLE BODY IS NOT COVERED BY THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY.) WHEN MY "NEW" THROTTLE BODY ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP IN MID-JUNE AND I CAME IN TO HAVE THE PART REPLACED, I WAS TOLD FORD HAD PLACED ANOTHER "HOLD" ON THE PART AND MY CAR COULD NOT BE SERVICED AT THIS TIME. IF FORD WILL NOT FIX THIS PROBLEM ON THEIR OWN, IT IS IMPERATIVE THE NHTSA PROTECT CONSUMERS BY FORCING THE COMPANY TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM AND TO DO SO AT NO COST TO THE CAR OWNERS. TWO DAYS AGO MY CAR STALLED WITHOUT WARNING, I LOST ALL ACCELERATION, AND THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY PULL TO THE SIDE. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND WAS ABLE TO START UP AFTER A FEW MINUTES. WHEN I PULLED OUT OF MY DRIVE WAY THIS MORNING, WHEN THE CAR WAS CHANGING FROM 1ST-2ND GEAR, IT SLAMMED INTO 2ND SO HARD IT WHIPPED MY HEAD BACK. IF THERE HAD BEEN A CAR BEHIND ME, I PROBABLY WOULD HAVE BEEN HIT, BECAUSE WHEN IT SLAMMED INTO GEAR MY REACTION WAS TO LET OFF THE GAS AS THE CAR MADE A SUDDEN JERK. *TR
MY CAR HAS BEEN CONSTANTLY SHIFTING OUT OF GEARS WHEN DRIVING. IT HAPPENS WHETHER I AM GOING 10 MPH TO 60 MPH. THE CAR WILL SLOW DOWN, JERK BACK, THAN CATCH UP TO GEAR (AUTOMATIC DRIVE). I BROUGHT THE ISSUE UP TOT THE DEALERSHIP AFTER PURCHASE OF THE USED AUTO ($20K) MILES AND THEY INDICATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG. AT $35K I WAS DRIVING DOWN MY STREET GOING 20 MPH WHEN THE CAR JERKED RAPIDLY AND SHUT DOWN. I WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET WITH THE CAR FAILING TO RESTART. THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT (WRENCH) CAME ON AND I WAS STUCK TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO NEXT. I FINALLY GOT THE CAR TO START UP AGAIN AFTER 3 TRIES AND I WAS ABLE TO GET INTO WORK BUT TOOK THE BACK STREETS INSTEAD OF THE HIGHWAY. ALL OF THIS HAPPENED AFTER I HAD THE CAR AT THE DEALERSHIP THE DAY BEFORE AND IT PASSED THE 120 POINT INSPECTION. I ACTUALLY PRINTED OFF ALL 306 COMPLAINTS ON THIS WEBSITE REGARDING THIS ISSUE AND TOLD THE DEALER WHAT TO FIX AS I DID NOT WANT TO GET ANY RUN AROUND. THE DEALER TOOK IT OUT ON 3/20 AND THE CAR DID THE SAME THING TO THE SERVICE TEAM AND LUCKILY THEY WERE ABLE TO WITNESS THE CRITICAL ERROR. THEY AGREED TO FIX IT BUT ARE NOW TRYING TO STICK IT TO ME. THE CAR WAS UNDER 36K ORIGINAL WARRANTY BUT THE CAR WAS ORIGINALLY PURCHASED ON 3/5/2010 AND THE INCIDENT HAPPENED ON 3/18/2013. THE DEALER TOLD ME I WAS TWO WEEKS PASS THE WARRANTY SO I WAS OUT OF LUCK. I FORTUNATELY BOUGHT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND THEY ARE NOW TRYING TO MAKE ME PAY THE $100 DEDUCTIBLE WHICH I AM FIGHTING. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRIC ASSIST HAD BURNED OUT AND AS A RESULT, THE STEERING SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 58,500. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE MAINTENANCE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN OFF AND RESTART THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO TEMPORARILY REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE ETHANOL AND GASOLINE IN THE THROTTLE BODY. AS A RESULT, THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000. UPDATED 7/15/13 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD LOSE POWER WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO STATED IF THE WRENCH WAS NOT ILLUMINATED THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER DID NOT DIAGNOSE NOR REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND FILED A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
DRIVING AND CAR SPUTTERED AND LOST POWER. WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. PULLED OFF ONTO SHOULDER. TURNED CAR OFF. RESTARTED CAR AND TRIED TO DRIVE AGAIN AND SAME THING HAPPENED. HAD CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER AND FOUND THAT THROTTLE MOTOR WAS NOT RESPONDING. DEALER REPLACED THROTTLE BODY AND MOTOR. COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS IF HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGHER SPEEDS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING LOOSE POWER, HAVE TO STOP AND SHUT OFF AND RESTART VEHICLE TO GET THROTTLE RESPONSE BACK. HAD TO HAVE THROTTLE BODY REPLACED. THERE ARE SEVERAL CASES OF THIS LISTED ON INTERNET. SHOULD BE THE SAME ISSUE AS IN YOUR INVESTIGATION PE13003. I WOULD LIKE TO BE KEPT INFORMED IF THIS TURNS INTO A RECALL, AS I WOULD LIKE FORD TO REIMBURSE ME FOR THE COST OF REPLACING THE THROTTLE BODY. *TR
IN MODERATE TRAFFIC ON I385, TRAVELING AT 60 MPH, WITHOUT ANY WARNING SIGNS THERE WAS A SUDDEN "CLUNK" AND THE ENGINE LOST POWER. WEATHER WAS CLEAR AND SUNNY WITH AN OUTSIDE AIR TEMPERATURE OF 64 DEG. F. PAVEMENT WAS DRY. WITH MY WIFE AND TWO GRANDCHILDREN IN THE CAR I HAD TO CROSS TWO LANES OF MODERATE TRAFFIC TO SAFELY GET TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE. SOME CARS AROUND ME HAD TO MAKE AVOIDANCE MANEUVERS. NOT GOOD! ONCE I GOT STOPPED IN THE BREAKDOWN LANE WITH THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS ACTIVATED, I DETERMINED THAT THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING WITH THE RPM SURGING BETWEEN APPROXIMATELY 700 AND 1500 RPM. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IN THE BREAKDOWN LANE TO AN EXIT RAMP AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH WITH THE CAR JERKING FORWARD WITH THE CHANGE IN RPM. THE "WRENCH" LIGHT WAS ON BUT NO "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT. ONCE ON THE EXIT RAMP I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND ATTEMPTED TO RE-START IT. AFTER A LONG CRANKING CYCLE THE ENGINE RE-STARTED AND RAN NORMALLY. THERE WAS NO "WRENCH" OR "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT AFTER THE RE-START. THE CAR RAN NORMALLY ON THE TRIP HOME (APPROX. 10 MILES). THE ENGINE IS A 3.0 LITER, V-6 WITH "FLEX FUEL" CAPABILITY. *TR
STOPPED FOR LIGHT STARTED TO GO CAR STARTED JERKING AND ROUGH IDLE COULD ONLY GO ABOUT 2-4 MPH WAS ABLE TO GET TO SIDE OF ROAD TURNED OFF FRO SEVERAL MIN. THAN RESTARTED RAN FINE FOR ABOUT 8-10 MILES THAN SAME. GOT IT DEALER THEY REPLACE THROTTLE BODY. *TR
CAR APPEARS TO STALL FOR NO REASON. APPARENTLY (ACCORDING TO FORD) THE CAR WAS NOT COMPLETELY STALLING BUT INSTEAD GOING INTO A "LIMP HOME MODE" WHEN CAR COMPUTER DETECTED AN ENGINE PROBLEM. CAR WAS BROUGHT TO DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY WHICH CORRECTED THE PROBLEM (OVER $400). THIS "STALLING" EFFECT OCCURRED ON INTERSTATE 95 IN WEST PALM BEACH FLORIDA, WHERE SPEED LIMIT IS 65MPH, WHICH PUT US AND OTHERS AT CONSIDERABLE RISK OF CRASH AND INJURY. I SUBSEQUENTLY READ THAT THIS COMPONENT DEFECT AND STALLING SYMPTOMS WAS A FORD FUSION "EPIDEMIC". *TR
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME MY 2010 FORD FUSION STALLED WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THE CAR WILL JUST START LIMPING AND WILL NOT ACCELERATE. ONCE I MANEUVER THE CAR SAFELY ONTO THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY AND TURN THE CAR OFF I AM NORMALLY SUCCESSFUL IN RESTARTING THE CAR AND RESUMING MY COMMUTE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL STAY ON, AND ONCE YOU REFUEL THE VEHICLE ALL SYMPTOMS AND WARNING LIGHTS ARE NO LONGER PRESENT. THIS PROBLEM IS AN OBVIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY FORD'S ENGINEERS. *TR
AFTER DRIVING FOR ~20 MINUTES AND THE ENGINE WARMING UP, THE ENGINE WILL SURGE WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP AFTER BRAKING. THERE IS ALSO A SMELL OF GAS. IMMEDIATELY AFTER REFUELING, THE ENGINE IS DIFFICULT TO START. ONCE STARTED IT RUNS ROUGH FOR A FEW SECONDS AND WANTS TO LURCH AWAY. *TR
I HAD JUST STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT AND WHEN IT TURNED GREEN, I PROCEEDED TO THE RAMP TO GET ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN MY 2010 FORD FUSION SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY. I MANAGED TO GET TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD AND COASTED INTO A PARKING LOT. IT TOOK 3 TIMES OF TRYING TO RE-START IT. FINALLY STARTED AND TAKING ALL SIDE ROADS, I MADE IT HOME. IT HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE THEN, BUT LAST FRIDAY, JUNE 14, 2013, I HAD LEFT THE GROCERY STORE WITH A TRUNK FULL OF GROCERIES, AND HAD TO MAKE A LEFT TURN ONTO THE HWY. IT DIED ON THE TURN AND SHOOK WORSE THAN EVER. I MANAGED TO ONCE AGAIN COAST TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ROAD INTO A PARKING LOT. THIS HAPPENED AT LEAST 7 OR 8 TIMES BEFORE I GOT HOME THAT DAY. IT HAS SCARED ME SO BAD, I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR. *TR
THIS IS IN REGARDS TO NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE13003 MY FUSION WAS HAVING STALLING PROBLEMS LEAVING MY NEIGHBORHOOD. IT WOULD ACT AS THOUGH THERE WASN'T ENOUGH FUEL BUT NOT ENOUGH TO STALL OUT. THE ENGINE WOULD SHAKE LIKE CRAZY AND THROW THE ENTIRE CAR INTO A SHAKE THAT WAS INCREDIBLY STRONG. I WOULD HAVE TO STOP, PARK AND SHUT OFF THE ENGINE TO GET IT TO STOP. THIS HAPPENED AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK LEAVING THE HOUSE IN THE MORNING ON MY WAY TO WORK. ONCE IT SHOOK SO HARD I THOUGHT IT MIGHT TEAR THE ENGINE MOUNTS RIGHT OUT OF THE CAR. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MULLINAX FORD OF APOPKA WHERE THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY. THEY CLAIMED IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY AS IT ISN'T A "MECHANICAL" ENGINE PART, THAT IT WAS AN ELECTRONIC COMPONENT. *TR
