TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED ON THE HEADLIGHTS COME ON BUT THE TAIL LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON UNLESS YOU TURN THE SWITCH FOR THE LIGHTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THEY DROVE WITHOUT TAIL LIGHTS AND GOT A TICKET. THE CONTACT HAD NOT SPOKEN TO THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,260 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 37,148. *TR
I OWN A V6 2010 FORD FUSION AND ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATE SPEEDS OF 65 MPH THE ENGINE HAS STALLED WITHOUT WARMING. AT THE TIME THE ENGINE STALLS, A SERVICE LIGHT WILL COME ON AND THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUTS DOWN. IN BOTH INSTANCES, THE CAR COULD BE RESTARTED, AND THE SERVICE LIGHT DISAPPEARED UPON RESTART. WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER BOTH INCIDENTS, AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO IDENTIFY A FIX AS THE SERVICE CODE IS NOT BEING STORED IN EVENTS OF ENGINE FAILURE (AND THE LIGHT IS NOT STAYING ON AFTER RESTART). THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION AS IT HAS HAPPENED WITHOUT WARNING, WHILE TRAVELING ON MAJOR HIGHWAYS AT HIGH SPEEDS. I HAVE SEEN ENTRIES FROM OTHER OWNERS ON BOTH THE NHTSA SITE AND OTHER BLOGS SITTING THE SAME PROBLEM, YET FORD IS UNWILLING TO ACCEPT THAT THIS IS A PERVASIVE PROBLEM AND IS NOT WORKING TO FIND A SOLUTION. WE HAVE ESCALATED FROM THE DEALERSHIP UP TO THE CORPORATE FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT WITH NO SUCCESS. *TR
DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY CAUSES CAR TO LOSE POWER. *TR
WHEN I WAS DRIVING MY 2010 FORD FUSION THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR LOST ALL POWER AND STALLED OUT. LUCKILY I WASN'T IN FRONT OF A TRUCK OR ON THE FREEWAY. VERY SCARY MY CAR ONLY HAS 15391 MILES ON IT. THIS CAR WAS ALSO LEAKING OIL. I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS CAR. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THIS PROBLEM DIDN'T SHOW UP AT FIRST SO THE SERVICE PERSON KEPT THE CAR LONGER AND FINALLY IT DID THE SAME THING AND LOST ALL POWER SO THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY AND REPLACED THE THE GASKET THAT WAS LEAKING OIL. ALSO A FEW MONTHS EARLIER ONE OF THE COILS WENT BAD AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. *TT
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, MY 2010 FUSION (35,265 MI) LOST ACCELERATION. JERKED CAR INTO THE MEDIAN AND PUT INTO PARK, IT IMMEDIATELY BEGAN IDLING VERY ROUGH AND ALMOST SPUTTERING TO CUT OFF. THE WRENCH LIGHT DISPLAYED. I CUT THE CAR OFF AND LET IT SIT FOR A MOMENT AND THEN CUT THE CAR BACK ON. I PRESSED THE GAS AND THE CARS RPM SHOT UP TO OVER 5000 RPM. IT THEN IDLED NORMALLY AND I MERGED BACK IN TRAFFIC JUST HOPING TO GET IT TO MY OFFICE. I MADE IT ANOTHER 2-3 MILES AND IT DID IT AGAIN, THIS TIME BOTH THE ENGINE LIGHT AND WRENCH LIT UP. I IMMEDIATELY CUT IT OFF, RESTARTED IT AND IT SEEMED FINE. I DECIDED TO GET OFF AT THE EXIT I WAS CLOSE TOO AND PARK THE CAR AS I KNEW I WAS GOING TO CAUSE A MAJOR ACCIDENT IF I DID NOT GET IT OFF THE ROAD. I CAME TO THE TOP OF THE EXIT RAMP AND SAT IN TRAFFIC FOR A FEW MINUTES, THE CAR SEEMED OKAY, NO ROUGH IDLE NOTHING STRANGE EXCEPT THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL DISPLAYED. I MERGED INTO TRAFFIC OFF THE RAMP AND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD SAME THING OCCURRED, NO ACCELERATION, I HAD MY FOOT TO THE FLOOR. I GOT IT INTO A PARKING LOT AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. I HAD THE CAR TOWED IN GOT A LOANER TO DRIVE INTO WORK. THE FORD DEALERSHIP CALLED ABOUT AN HOUR LATER AND SAID THE CAR IS FIXED AND I CAN COME GET IT. THEY SAID THEIR WAS AN ISSUE IN MY ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY AND THEY HAVE REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. I LOVE THIS CAR BUT AT 35,000 MILES I SHOULD NOT HAVE ALREADY HAD A BAD BATTERY AND NOW THIS ISSUE. I AM STARTING TO NOT TRUST THE CAR. I HOPE THE ISSUE IS FIXED, BUT I AM ALMOST SCARED TO GO PICK IT UP TONIGHT. I HAD NO IDEA OF THESE ISSUES UNTIL I LOOKED IT UP ONLINE AFTER THE THIS MORNING. *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 40 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STALLING RECURRED TWICE AFTERWARD. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND AFTER A SECOND DIAGNOSTIC TEST THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT A CYLINDER WAS MISFIRING. THE DEALER REPLACED THE COIL WIRE TO THE CYLINDER BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED AFTER REPAIRS. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE ANY FURTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO FURTHER REPAIRS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,586.
CAR SHIFTS EXTREMELY HARD INTO REVERSE--FEELS LIKE TRANSMISSION IS GOING TO DROP OUT OF THE CAR. DOES NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY; FEELS LIKE ACCELERATING IN A HIGHER GEAR WHEN STARTING OFF. DOES NOT SEEM TO SHIFT GEARS WHEN DRIVING. SHIFTS HARD WHEN CHANGING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE. ALSO FEELS LIKE TRANSMISSION DROPS RANDOMLY WHEN DRIVING AT HIGH AND LOW SPEEDS. CAR HAS BEEN INTO THE DEALER ON 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS OVER 9 MONTHS AND PROBLEM STILL ISN'T FIXED. *TR
MY 2010 FORD FUSION HAS HAD ISSUES FOR THE LAST MONTH WITH THE LACK OF ACCELERATING WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND THE WRENCH LIGHT COMING ON. TOOK IT TO ADVANCED AUTO WITH A CODE OF P2112. TOOK IT TWICE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WITH THE FIRST TIME THE DEALER TELLING ME NOTHING. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE I WAS DRIVING THROUGH AN INTERSECTION WITH MY TWO KIDS IN THE CAR AND LOST ALMOST ALL POWER AND WAS NEARLY HIT BY AN 18 WHEELER. DEALER SAID THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, WILL COST ME $520 DOLLARS AND IT ISN'T COVERED UNDER MY POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. THOUSANDS OF REPORTED PROBLEMS WITH THIS VERY SAME PROBLEM WITH FORD NOT BEING HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR FAULTY EQUIPMENT...SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT OR KILLED. *TR
WHEN CAR IS DRIVEN FOR THE FIRST TIME OR CAR HAS HAD A FEW HOURS TO COOL OFF THE TRANSMISSION HESITATES TO SHIFT FROM 2-3 AND 3-4. USUALLY SEAMS TO SLIP FROM 3-4. *TR
TRAVELING ON THE STREET AT ABOUT 40 MPH, CAR SHUDDERED TO A STOP. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. HAD CAR TOWED HOME. CAR STARTED THE NEXT DAY. CAREFULLY DROVE THE CAR TO THE FORD DEALER. THEY REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. THE THROTTLE BODY SHOULD NOT BE FAILING AT 60000 MILES. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. *TR
2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE BRAKE SYSTEM *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED IN FEB 2010, FORD ISSUED A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM RECALL TO REPROGRAM THE BRAKE SYSTEM. UNFORTUNATELY, THE GENERAL RECALL DID NOT CORRECT THE MALFUNCTION WITH HIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE. SINCE THAT TIME, HE HAS CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE THE PROBLEM THAT PROMPTED THE RECALL. THE MALFUNCTION OCCURRED RANDOMLY AND WITH NO WARNING. THERE WERE TIMES, WHERE THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN DRIVEN FOR MONTHS, WITH NO PROBLEM. BUT, THEN WITHOUT WARNING, THE MALFUNCTION WOULD OCCUR AGAIN. ACCORDING TO FORD, THE BRAKE SYSTEM SOFTWARE MAY UNNECESSARILY CAUSE THE REGENERATIVE BRAKE SYSTEM TO TRANSITION TO CONVENTIONAL BRAKES, IF THAT OCCURS THE RED BRAKE WARNING LAMP WILL ILLUMINATE, THE MESSAGE CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM WILL APPEAR AND A WARNING CHIME WILL SOUND. THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE ISSUE DID OCCUR, AT TIMES HE WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE, TURN IT OFF AND RE-START IT; OTHER TIMES HE WOULD HAVE TO LET THE VEHICLE SIT FOR AN HOUR OR MORE.
ON OCTOBER 1, 2011, WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE, GOING LESS THAN A FEW MILES AN HOUR AND APPLYING THE BRAKE , THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD AND ACCELERATED ON ITS ON - JUMPED THE CURB AND CRASHED THROUGH THE WINDOW OF A BUSINESS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT AND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY CONTROL WARNING LIGHT BECAME ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR AN INSPECTION, WHO INSTALLED A NEW RELAY FOR THE FUEL PUMP AND LOCATED A FAILURE WITH THE CATALYTIC ASSEMBLY. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REPORTED TO THE MANUFACTURER. ON SEPTEMBER 30TH I WAS DRIVING HOME AND I HAD ONLY DRIVEN LESS THAN A MILE AT APPROXIMATELY 35 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THE WRENCH LIGHT APPEARED ON MY DASH AND MY CAR QUICK MOVING. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO MOVE ABOUT 1 MILE PER HOUR SO I GOT THE CAR OFF THE ROAD AND SHUT IT OFF. IT WAS DARK AND I WAS ALONE. I WAS GOING TO CALL AAA FOR A TOW AND I DECIDED I WOULD TRY TO START THE CAR AND SEE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN. THE WRENCH LIGHT WAS GONE AND THE CAR WAS MOVING LIKE NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN ON OCT 5TH AND OCT 7TH DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC AND BOTH TIMES I WAS FORTUNATE THAT I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC TO AVOID GETTING HIT BOTH TIMES MY SPEED WAS APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO TWO CAR REPAIR SHOPS AND THEY CAN NOT FIND ANY THING WRONG WITH IT WHEN THEY CONNECT IT TO THEIR DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE. FROM SEPTEMBER TO CURRENT DATE THE CAR HAS DONE THIS AT LEAST ANOTHER 10 TIMES. SOMETIMES THE SPEED MAY BE AT 55 OR 60 MILES PER HOUR. I DID CONTACT THE LOCAL FORD DEALER AND I WROTE A LETTER TO THE FORD COMPANY NEITHER PARTY HAS DONE ANYTHING TO HELP ME. THERE IS A DEFECTIVE IN THEIR PRODUCT. THE LOCAL FORD DEALER SUGGESTED IT MAY BE VALUE BODY AND THROTTLE BODY ISSUE. I CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE CAR TO WORK AND BACK WAITING FOR IT TO BREAK DOWN OR TO BE KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT WHEN IT QUITS IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY AND I AM UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE LINE OF TRAFFIC. SO MUCH FOR THE COMMERCIAL "NUMBER 1 MOST DEPENDABLE CAR IN AMERICA ". MY FORD FUSION SUCKS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR TO GET ON FREEWAY IT BOGGLED DOWN LIKE IT WAS GOING TO TURN OFF AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON AND WRENCH SYMBOL SO PULLED TO THE SIDE AND CAR WAS SHAKING AS IF IT HAD NO GAS SO TURNED OFF FOR 3 MIN AND TURNED BACK ON AND DROVE NOT EVEN A MILE DOWN THE ROAD AND IT DID THE SAME THING SO TURNED OFF AND ON AGAIN AND IT RAN AS IF WAS FINE NOT EVEN A MONTH LATER STARTED DOING THE SAME THING ONCE YOU DRIVE AND IT STARTS TO ACCELERATE IT BOGGLES DOWN AND LIGHTS COME ON. GOT IT CHECKED AND WAS TOLD IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY WHICH IS HAPPENING IN A LOT OF FORD FUSION 2010 CARS. *TR
POWER STEERING WAS IN A PARKING LOT. IT COULD BE STEERED BY MAN POWER. TOOK TO FORD GARAGE AND WAS THE POWER STEERING RACK. WAS ADVISED IT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS IF IT HAD HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEED AND ON CURVES WHICH WE HAD JUST DONE THAT DAY. *TR
I PREVIOUSLY SENT A COMPLAINT BECAUSE MY CAR KEPT STALLING, WRENCH LIGHT WOULD COME ON, BUT WHEN I TURNED CAR OFF THEN TURNED ON, IT WOULD RUN, BUT THEN THEY COULDN'T GET THE CODES. BASED ON MY INTERNET RESEARCH, LOOKS LIKE 2010 FUSIONS ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM BETWEEN 30,000 AND 50,000 AND IT IS ALWAYS THE THROTTLE BODY THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY BECAUSE THE CODES WERE NOT COMING UP. I JUST WANTED TO GIVE YOU AN UPDATE, I PURCHASED MY OWN CODE READER AND AFTER MY CAR DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD (VERY DANGEROUS) THREE MORE TIMES, WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET THE CODE MYSELF. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WITH THE CODE THEY WERE FINALLY ABLE TO LOOK IT UP.....AND IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY....JUST LIKE I TOLD THEM SINCE EVERY 2010 FORD FUSION BETWEEN THIS MILEAGE IS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. SINCE THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECT ON THIS CAR AND IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE CAR STALLS IN MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED! I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO GO THROUGH WHAT I WENT THROUGH, AND I WOULD LOVE TO GET REIMBURSED FOR THE MONEY I HAD TO PAY ON FORDS DEFECT. THANK YOU *TR
THIS HAS HAPPENED A NUMBER OF TIMES SINCE IT STARTED A FEW MONTHS AGO, BUT SOON AFTER STARTING AND DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, THE FUSION SUDDENLY LOSES POWER, THE WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON THE DASH, AND THE IDLE IS VERY ROUGH. THERE IS NO ACCELERATION POSSIBLE. WE HAVE TO COAST TO A STOP, TURN OFF THE ENGINE, THEN RESTART THE CAR. THIS SEEMS TO RESET THE PROBLEM AND THINGS GET BACK TO NORMAL. WE'VE HAD THE DEALER LOOK AT IT TWICE NOW. THEY SUSPECT A THROTTLE BODY PROBLEM. FORTUNATELY FOR US, WE ARE STILL UNDER WARRANTY, BUT IT IS VERY DISCONCERTING AND A BIT DANGEROUS FOR THIS TO HAPPEN. ONE TIME I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AROUND 60 MPH AND IT HAPPENED. I HAD TO COAST TO THE EMERGENCY LANE WHILE MULTIPLE CARS PASSED ME AND SWERVED AROUND ME. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED YESTERDAY THREE TIMES IN ONE 30 MINUTE PERIOD. THE DEALER SAID THAT FORD HAS GIVEN THEM NO HELP IN SOLVING THE PROBLEM. WE ALMOST BOUGHT A TOYOTA CAMRY INSTEAD OF THE FUSION. I GUESS WE SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT. *TR
WHILE TRAVELING 45 MPH LOST ACCELERATION AND COASTED TO SIDE OF THE ROAD. WRENCH OR SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON. SHUT CAR OFF AND WAITED ABOUT 30 SECONDS AND RESTARTED CAR AND SERVICE LIGHT WENT OFF AND CAR OPERATED NORMALLY. TOOK THE CAR TO NEAREST DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T PULL UP ANY DIAGNOSTIC CODES AND FOR ME TO WAIT FOR THE PROBLEM TO OCCUR AGAIN AND BRING IT BACK. CAR ONLY HAS 37000 MILES AND AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I HAVE FOUND MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE VERY SAME ISSUE WITH OTHER FUSION OWNERS. ALL THE CARS THAT HAVE BEEN REPAIRED HAD TO REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY 2010 FORD FUSION DOWN A VERY BUSY MAIN ROAD IN ATLANTA, IT DIED. I WAS LUCKY THAT I WAS ABLE TO GET OVER INTO THE RIGHT HAND LANE WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO ACCELERATE AND GET ONTO A SIDE STREET TO PARK. THE DEALER REPLACED THE THROTTLE UNDER WARRANTY, BUT LESS THAN A MONTH LATER I WAS GETTING ON A BUSY FREEWAY HERE IN ATLANTA. ABOUT THE SAME SPEED, 45MPH, IT WOULDN'T ACCELERATE, BUT THIS TIME IT DID CONTINUE RUNNING. EVENTUALLY IT PICKED UP AGAIN. IT IS CURRENTLY BACK IN THE SHOP HAVING THE TRANSMISSION CORRECTED. FORD DID ISSUE A RECALL LAST YEAR WHICH WAS SUPPOSED HAVE CORRECTED THIS ISSUE, AND I DID TAKE THE CAR IN FOR THE RECALL WHEN I HAD ONLY HAD IT FOR 30 DAYS. THAT WAS OVER A YEAR AGO, AND IT HAS "SKIPPED" BETWEEN 2ND AND 3RD GEARS THE WHOLE TIME WHICH HAS MADE ME UNEASY, BUT EVENTUALLY BECAME THE NORM. ANYWAY, THE RECALL DID NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE. MY FEAR IS THAT WHEN I AM UNABLE TO ACCELERATE, OR WHEN THE CAR SIMPLY SHUTS DOWN, I WILL BE REAR ENDED AND CAUSE A SERIOUS CAR ACCIDENT INVOLVING OTHERS AS WELL AS MYSELF. THIS IS MY FIRST AMERICAN BRAND CAR AND I WANT TO LOVE IT, BUT FEELING UNSAFE DRIVING IT IS MAKING IT DIFFICULT. I WANT THIS ON FILE BECAUSE ALTHOUGH I HAVE A WARRANTY ON MY CAR, I THINK FORD SHOULD BE CORRECTING THE ISSUE FOR ALL FORD FUSION OWNERS SINCE OUR SAFETY IS AT RISK. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 45 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND THE THROTTLE MISSION CONTROL FAILURE SWITCH ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED FIFTEEN TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY CONFIRMED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,800 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 62,882.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION HYBRID. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE HAVING AN OIL CHANGE THE MECHANIC NOTICED THE FRONT RIGHT AXLE NUT HAD COME LOOSE. THE CONTACT SPOKE TO THE DEALER WHO STATED THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO SINCE THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE DEALER INSTALLED A NEW AXLE NUT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WAS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT THAT COULD CAUSE THE TIRE TO DISCONNECT FROM THE VEHICLE AND CAUSE A CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE 37,571. UPDATED 10/14/11 *BF UPDATED 11/02/11

MY CAR IS 10 MONTHS OLD WITH JUST 23,000 MILES (5700 OF WHICH WERE ON IT BEFORE I BOUGHT IT) AND THE DEALERSHIP I TOOK IT TO IS TRYING TO TELL ME THAT IT'S NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR, AND THAT THE CLUTCH AND CLUTCH PLATE NEED TO BE REPLACED. THEY'RE ALSO SAYING IT'S NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY AND THAT IT WILL COST ME $1300 + TAX TO REPAIR. I DON'T DRIVE THIS CAR HARD, NOR DO I DO ANY TYPE OF RACING OR MODS TO IT. IN ADDITION, THEY SAID THEY WOULD WASH/FILL UP THE GAS TO WHERE I LEFT IT. THIS WAS DONE CORRECT ONCE. AT ONE POINT, MY CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FOR A MONTH. THEY DECIDED THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ? WHICH THEY WOULD DO FREE OF CHARGE. ON THE DAY THIS REPAIR WAS TO BE MADE, THEY ALL OF A SUDDEN CHANGED THEIR MINDS AND RENEGED ON THAT COMMITMENT - CLAIMING THEY HAD FOUND THE REAL ISSUE WHICH, AS IT TURNS, OUT THEY DID NOT. WHEN I HAD COME TO PICK UP MY VEHICLE, I FOUND A PACK OF CIGARETTES IN MY MIDDLE CONSOLE ALL HALF SMOKED. I WAS TOLD BY DJ, KOON? SALES MANAGER, THE REPLACEMENT PROCESS SHOULD TAKE ONLY A WEEK. HE EVEN SUGGESTED THAT I SHOULD NOT MAKE ANOTHER PAYMENT ON MY VEHICLE. I STARTED THIS CLAIM PROCESS ON DECEMBER 1, 2011. I WAS FINALLY SENT A BREAKDOWN WORKSHEET FROM CORPORATE, IN PARTICULAR, JEFF TERRELL, ON FEBRUARY 3, 2012. ON 3 AUGUST 2011 MY CAR FELT LIKE IT DID A DOWNSHIFT WHILE GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. AT THIS POINT MY ACCELERATOR FAILS TO WORK. ONCE THEY REALIZED I KNEW THAT IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY THAT WAS THE PROBLEM I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS NOT A PART THAT WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY SO I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT OUT OF POCKET. I TOOK THE TIME TO TALK TO SEVERAL REPS AT FORD AND I WAS TOLD THAT IF THE MECHANIC DID NOT THINK IT WAS DEFECTIVE THEN THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I TALKED TO THE MECHANIC AT THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THAT IT JUST STOPPED WORKING. SO I ENDED UP PAYING $479.05 FOR A NEW THROTTLE BODY ASSEMBLY AND HAVING TO BE WITHOUT MY CAR FOR A TOTAL OF FOUR DAY. ONLY TO GET IT BACK WITH A CRACKED WINDSHIELD, BUT THAT IS A DIFFERENT ISSUE. *TR

THE PART WAS ORDERED AND REPLACED A FEW DAYS LATER. ON THE 16TH OF SEPTEMBER WHILE DRIVING THE BRAKES FAILED. THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO GANLEY FORD ON THE 19TH OF SEPT. THEY INITIALLY DETERMINED IT WAS A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM THAT WAS REPAIRED IN AUGUST. ON THE 21ST OF SEPT. THE MAINTENANCE PEOPLE DROVE THE CAR WITH A COMPUTER CONNECTED TO ANALYZE WHAT WAS HAPPENING BUT FOUND NOTHING WRONG. NOW THEY SAY THE PROBLEM IS HYDRAULIC RELATED BUT WILL NEED TO KEEP THE CAR FOR AT LEAST 30 DAYS TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. AT THIS TIME THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS REALLY WRONG. INSIDE THE CAR IS AN INTERMITTENT NOISE. IT CAN ONLY BE HEARD WHEN JUST STARTING OUT OR AT VERY SLOW SPEEDS. GANLEY FORD HAS NO IDEA WHERE THIS NOISE IS COMING FROM. *TR
WHILE DRIVING THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED AND MADE THE CARE DOWNSHIFT AND UPSHIFT THE CAR HARD. I HAD TO APPLY THE BRAKES HARD BECAUSE THE RPMS WHERE JUMPING AS I CAM TO A COMPLETE STOP. THEN WHEN ACCELERATING THE CAR SHIFTED HARD. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD ILLUMINATE ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE VEHICLE WOULD STOP ACCELERATING. IN ORDER TO CORRECT THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT WOULD STOP THE VEHICLE AND SHUT IT OFF. UPON RESTART, THE VEHICLE WOULD OPERATE AS NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 46,000.
2010 FORD FUSION STUDS BREAKING OFF. SECOND TIME IN 4 MONTHS. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, MY 2010 FORD FUSION SUDDENLY SLIPPED GEARS ON ITS OWN. THE CAR STARTED TO SLOW DOWN. I WAS STEPPING ON THE GAS PEDAL, THE ENGINE WAS TURNING BUT THE CAR WASN'T ACCELERATING. I WAS NEARLY REAR ENDED. I MANAGED TO COAST TO THE EMERGENCY LANE. I PUT IT IN PARK AND TURNED THE CAR OFF. I WAS AFRAID TO CONTINUE BUT THOUGHT I WOULD GIVE IT A TRY. THE CAR STARTED OK AND ACCELERATED NORMALLY. THE NEXT WEEK, MY HUSBAND HAD THE SAME EXPERIENCE. MY HUSBAND TOOK THE CAR TO FORD DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY. THE DEALERSHIP CALLED AND TOLD US THAT THEY CAN'T DUPLICATE THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AND THEIR COMPUTER TESTS DID NOT DETECT ANY PROBLEMS. I TOLD THEM OF THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS I FOUND ONLINE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THAT I DIDN'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR. THEY SAID THEY HAVEN'T HEARD OF ANY COMPLAINTS NOR ANY TSBS ON THIS CAR! I SENT THEM A LINK TO THIS WEBSITE AND TOLD THEM TO READ IT. WILL THEY STILL SAY NOTHING WAS WRONG BECAUSE THEIR COMPUTERS CAN'T DUPLICATE IT? THROTTLE BODY WENT BAD ON MY 2010 FORD FUSION V6 AFTER ONLY HAVING 45,000 MILES ON IT. ON VEHICLE NOT EVEN 2 YEARS OLD; A PART THIS IMPORTANT SHOULDN'T FAIL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT WARNING WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. THE WRENCH WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AFTER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND A DIAGNOSTIC WAS PERFORMED BUT THE TECHNICIANS WERE UNABLE TO GENERATE A FAILURE CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 21,000.
DRIVING ON THE WEST VIRGINIA TURNPIKE AT 65-70 MPH WHEN THE RPM'S JUMPED ABOVE 4 AND LOST ALL POWER TO THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING BUT HAD NO POWER FROM THE GAS PEDAL TO THE ENGINE. PULLED TO THE FAR RIGHT SIDE OF THE ROAD AS I WAS GOING UP HILL INTO THE TRUCK LANE AND THEN EVENTUALLY ON TO THE BERM AS THE TRUCKS WERE NOW RUNNING FASTER THAN ME GOING UPHILL. IT WAS THE MOST DANGEROUS DRIVING SITUATION I HAVE EVER BEEN THROUGH. I WAS ABLE TO LOCATE A FORD DEALERSHIP ON THE TURNPIKE WHERE I COULD LEAVE THE CAR FOR THE NECESSARY REPAIRS. THE REPAIRS TOOK A TOTAL OF 25 DAYS. FORD WOULD NOT PROVIDE ME WITH A LOANER CAR AS I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED AND THEREFORE NO RENTAL COVERAGE EVEN THOUGH THE ISSUE WAS A KNOWN ISSUE DUE TO FAULTY PARTS AND A POOR INITIAL REPAIR BY FORD. I HAD TO RENT A VEHICLE IN WEST VIRGINIA IN ORDER TO COMPLETE MY DRIVE HOME AND HAD TO DROP THE RENTAL IN COLUMBUS. $185 + GAS + DEPOSIT AND RESULTING NSF FEES IN MY CHECKING ACCOUNT FOR A 12 HOUR CAR RENTAL THAT FORD WOULD NOT COVER. UPON GETTING MY VEHICLE BACK IT RAN SMOOTHLY UNTIL OCTOBER OF THE SAME YEAR. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO A NATIONAL CHAIN OIL CHANGE COMPANY WHO ADVISED THAT THEY COULD SEE TRANSAXLE FLUID ALL THE WAY TO THE BACK OF THE UNDERBODY OF THE VEHICLE. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP WHO FOUND THAT THE REPAIR COMPLETED IN WEST VIRGINIA DID NOT GET THE PAN SEALED PROPERLY AND THE FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM THE FAULTY SEAL, WHICH THEY REPAIRED BUT IT TOOK THEM 14 DAYS TO DO SO. FAST FORWARD TO MAY AND ANOTHER HARD SHIFT WITH A LURCH FORWARD AND THEN NO POWER FROM THE GAS PEDAL TO THE ENGINE. TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP WHO COULD FIND NO ERROR CODES AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. 5/13 - MOTHER'S DAY AND IT HAPPENS AGAIN BUT THIS TIME THE ENGINE LIGHT IS NOW ON AND THE CAR RUNS ROUGH. TAKING TO DEALERSHIP AGAIN TOMORROW. *TR
