I TURN MY CAR ON AND POWER STEERING SHUTS DOWN. ENG LIGHT COMES ON STATING POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. I TURN MY CAR OFF TRY AGAIN IT GOES AWAY. STARTED SAT APRIL 28 AND HAS HAPPENED ONCE A DAY. MONDAY DID 3X IN A ROW. LOOKED AROUND UNDER HOOD. TUESDAY (TODAY) NOTHING HAPPENED. GOING TO TAKE TO DEALER BUT WAS TOLD BY PREVIOUS OWNER DID HAVE PROBLEMS LIKE THAT AND FORD DEALER TOLD HER IT WAS DUE TO IT BEING COLD OUTSIDE. IT'S BEEN GREAT OUTSIDE HERE IN OH SINCE IT STARTED DOING THIS ON ME. INTERNET SHOWS A SAFET RECALL FOR EXACT CAR BUT WHEN I LOOKUP MY VIN THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR ANYTHING? WHAT IF MY CAR STALLS AND CAUSES A PROBLEM, ARE FORD FUSIONS ACTUALLY KNOWN FOR STEERING ISSUES LIKE THIS OR NOT
TWICE IN THE PAST WEEK WHEN STARTING THE CAR THE DASHBOARD SHOWED A "POWER STEERING FAULT" MESSAGE AND I HAD NO POWER STEERING. UPON SHUTTING OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTING, THE STEERING OPERATED WITHOUT INCIDENT. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH I FOUND THAT THERE WAS A MASSIVE RECALL OF CERTAIN FORD MOTOR COMPANY VEHICLES THAT EXHIBITED THE SAME ISSUE. I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL AFFECTED VEHICLES MANUFACTURED BETWEEN 9/7/2010 AND 2/28/2012. MY FUSION WAS BUILT 8/2010. CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID THEY WOULD "PASS THE MESSAGE ALONG TO FORD." I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT AT A LOCAL FORD DEALER TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE BUT AM CONCERNED THAT IF I HAVE TO REPLACE THE RACK I'M FACING A $2000 REPAIR BILL. IF THIS IS THE SAME DEFECT REFERRED TO IN THE RECALL, AND I'M EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE, WHY WOULD I HAVE TO EAT THE COST OF THE REPAIR (IF NEEDED) JUST BECAUSE OF A 30 DAY (OR LESS) BUILD DATE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER (VILLAGE FORD, 23535 MICHIGAN AVE, DEARBORN, MI 48124, (313) 565-3900) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR BOX ASSEMBLY NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND ALSO RECEIVED A WHEEL ALIGNMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND RECOMMENDED THAT THE DEALER REPLACE THE PART. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,709.
WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH AND SLOWING DOWN FOR A STOP, VEHICLE WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNING STARTED BEEPING AND SEVERAL DASH ALERTS INCLUDING CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM, BRAKE AND ABS AND IMMEDIATELY LOST FULL BRAKING POWER, AS IF THE CAR HAD STALLED AND LOST POWER BRAKES. BRAKES HAD TO BE PUSHED TO THE FLOOR AND THE VEHICLE STILL WAS HARD TO STOP. I FEAR IF I HAD BEING GOING ANY SPEED, I COULD NOT HAVE STOPPED.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT A NEW RACK AND PINION WAS NEEDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 81,000.
RECALL #15S18, REPROGRAM POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE AND POWER STEERING GEAR. TOOK THE CAR INTO FORD ON DECEMBER 27,2017. FORD CLAIMS THEY REPROGRAMMED THE MODULE. MY WIFE ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT YESTERDAY DUE TO POWER STEERING FROZE ON HER. SAME MESSAGE RECEIVED AS IN DECEMBER THAT POWER STEERING NEEDS TO BE PROGRAMMED. FORD CLAIMS I MIGHT HAVE TO PAY THIS TIME SINCE THEY ALREADY HAVE PROGRAMMED THE MODULE. IT SHOULDN'T LAST ON 3 MONTHS? MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON A ROADWAY GOING AROUND 45 MPH. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION AT THAT SPEED WHEN THE POWER STEERING FROZE. AGAIN, RECALL NUMBER IS 15S18. SHE WAS LUCKY CAR MAINTAINED A STRAIGHT LINE AND SHE WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER SAFETLY. WE OFTEN DRIVE THIS CAR ON ROAD TRIPS AT HIGHER SPEEDS, WHAT IS TO OCCUR AT A HIGHER SPEED? PLEASE GET BACK WITH ME SINCE I FEEL THAT FORD HAS NOT FIXED THE ISSUE. THEY SHOULD REPLACE THE POWER STEERING IF THEY KNOW IT CAN BECOME FAULTY. PLEASE RESEARCH AND HAVE THEM FIX THEIR ISSUE AND HOPEFULLY; IT WILL MAKE ARE DRIVING SAFER. WHEN BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVING, THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. SHUT OFF THE CAR AND RESTARTED IT. THE POWER STEERING THEN WORKED AGAIN. THEN THE NEXT DAY WHEN DRIVING 25 MPH ON A SIDE ROAD, THE CONSOLE DISPLAYED "SERVICE ADVANTRAC LIGHT" LIGHT UP. SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT - THE SERVICE ADVANTRAC LIGHT NO LONG IS DISPLAYED.

TACATA RECALL ;I JUST HAD A REFLECTION ON THE FACT THAT I'VE BEEN DRIVING AROUND IN A TIME BOMB FOR NINE YEARS. I THINK OF THIS ALMOST EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT. NOT A VERY NICE THOUGHT TO HAVE. SO WHAT'S THE DEAL ARE THEY EVER GOING TO FIX MY CAR OR YOU PEOPLE GOING TO JUST LET IT SLIDE. I WAN'T A NEW CAR. I WOULD EVEN TAKE A REFUND. THE STRESS OF THIS IS BECOMING JUST TOO MUCH. I WAS SOLD A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT NOW I WANT TO EXCHANGE IT FOR ONE THAT IS NOT DEFECTIVE. THAT'S MY PROBLEM. NOW WHO IS GOING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. WHO WILL EVEN READ THIS?
I RECEIVED A LETTER ABOUT A RECALL ON MY PASSENGER AIR BAG ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND FORD HAS NOT RELEASED A REPLACEMENT PART YET AND I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF MY PASSENGERS AND MYSELF DUE TO METAL FRAGMENTS THAT COULD BE RELEASED IF THE AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED.
LATELY WHEN I'M DRIVING AND HAVE TO COME TO A STOP AT A LIGHT AND HAVE TO SIT THERE FOR AWHILE MY BRAKES WILL SLOWLY GO TO THE FLOOR AND SOMETIMES I HAVE I WILL HAVE TO PUMP THE BRAKES BECAUSE MY CAR WILL START TO INCH FORWARD TO GET IT TO STOP AGAIN. I CHECKED THE FLUID LEVELS AND BLED THE SYSTEM AND IT STILL DOES IT.
I HAVE VERY LITTLE BRAKING POWER. THERE IS NO POSSIBLE WAY TO LOCK MY BRAKES UP IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. THE BRAKE PEDAL SINKS ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. YES IT SLOWS THE CAR AND YES IT STOPS THE CAR BUT IF SOMEONE MAKES A SUDDEN STOP IN FRONT OF ME MY CAR WILL BE IN A ACCIDENT. I WAS GONNA REPLACE CALIPERS BUT A MECHANIC SAID THEY WEREN'T BAD THEY WERE WEARING NORMAL. THE BRAKE PADS ARE LESS THEN A YEAR OLD AND THE ROTORS WERE REPLACED THE SAME TIME. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN IN A FEW ACCIDENTS BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE LUCKILY IN IOWA WE HAVE BIG SHOULDERS THAT GAVE ME PLENTY OF ROOM TO SWERVE TO THE SHOULDER AND AVOID AN ACCIDENT. THESE INCIDENTS ALL HAPPENED ON HIGHWAYS AS I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND THE SPEED LIMIT IS 65 WHICH WITH BRAKES THAT BARELY WORK I'M SCARED TO EVEN GET TO THAT SPEED. NORMALLY I DRIVE MY OTHER VEHICLE BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM THAT I HAVE WITH THE BRAKES. SO I SPEND ALOT MORE MONEY ON FUEL THEN I SHOULD CONSIDERING I BOUGHT THIS CAR FOR THE GOOD GAS MILEAGE.
NOTHING HAS HAPPNED BUT I CURRENTLY HAVE MY CAR AT MCREE FORD IN DICKINSON TX FOR ANOTHER RECALL FIX AND MENTIONED THE AIR BAGS AND GET TOLD YET AGAIN THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS - IS THIS EVER GOING TO BE SOLVED? I DO NOT JUST HAVE THE FUNDS TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE FOR MY CHILD - WHY IS THIS TAKING SO LONG?

THE INDEPENDENT FACILITY THAT SOLD THE VEHICLE MADE NO MENTION OF IT BEING INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBERS: 15V340000 (STEERING) AND 15V793000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL AIR BAG RECALL STILL HAS NO AVAILABLE PARTS TO PERFORM THE REQUIRED SAFETY REPLACEMENT OF THE SYSTEM. I CHECKED MUCH EARLIER THIS YEAR AND THEY HAD NO REPAIR PARTS AVAILABLE AND THIS IS STILL THE CASE, WHICH IS UNACCEPTABLE. KENDALL FORD IN ANCHORAGE, ALASKA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND SCHEDULED THE CONTACT FOR A SERVICE APPOINTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 85,000.

THE POWER ASSIST STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR LOST POWER STEERING. THIS HAPPENED IN THE DRIVEWAY WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. THE CAR WAS NOT STEERABLE AT THIS POINT. I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND THEN RESTARTED THE CAR AND THE POWER STEERING WAS ACTIVE SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AND FOUND STEERING RACK INTERNAL DAMAGE (INVOICE AND DESCRIPTION ATTACHED). THIS IS THE SAME ISSUE AS IN RECALLED FORD VEHICLES, HOWEVER, BECAUSE THIS VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE ORIGINAL RECALL THE WORK WAS NOT COVERED BY FORD.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (KOONS BALTIMORE FORD, 6970 SECURITY BLVD, BALTIMORE, MD 21244) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. NHTSA AND FORD CHERRY PICKED SEVERAL MODELS OF 2011/2012 FUSION MODELS OUT OF A POWER STEERING RACK SENSOR RECALL. IF YOU CHECK ENOUGH BLOGS YOU WILL FIND THAT THIS LEAVES OUT TENS OF THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES AND MANY HAVE EXPERIENCED LOSS OF POWER STEERING INCLUDING MYSELF. I REPLACED OUT OF POCKET ONE TIME AND 50000 MILES LATER THE ISSUE RETURNED. FORD SHOULD BE ASHAMED FOR THIS. NEVER AGAIN.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOB ROHRMAN SCHAUMBURG FORD 450 (815 E GOLF RD, SCHAUMBURG, IL), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,825.
TAKATA INFLATORS ARE NOT WORKING. LAST YEAR I GOT INTO A FRONT END COLLISION AT 25MPH AND AIR BAGS DIDNT DEPLOY.
RANDOMLY A TROUBLE CODE SHOWS ON MY DASH INDICATING A " POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE", AND I LOOSE POWER STEERING. I DISCOVERED A RECALL FOR 2011-2012 FUSIONS FOR THIS PROBLEM, (RECALL # 15S18 ). THROUGH THE FORD DEALER, THEY SAID THIS RECALL IS NOT FOR MY VEHICLE, BASED ON THE BUILD DATE. THE RECALL IS LISTED FOR BUILD DATES OF 9-7-10 THROUGH 2-28-12. MY VEHICLE BUILD DATE IS 9-1-10, ( WHICH IS JUST 6 DAYS BEFORE THE RECALL START DATE ). AS PART OF THE SAFETY ISSUE INVOLVED, WHY IS MY VEHICLE NOT COVERED? MY VEHICLE WAS MADE AT THE SAME LOCATION. AND MADE WITH THE SAME PARTS AS OTHER 2011 FUSIONS MADE JUST 6 DAYS LATER. SINCE MY VEHICLE IS A 2011 MODEL, AND THE RECALL IS FOR 2011 MODELS, I THINK MY VEHICLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE, BUT THEY DID NOT SEEM TO BE INTERESTED IN MY ISSUE. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS RANDOMLY, AND USUALLY WHEN YOU FIRST START THE CAR. MY WIFE DRIVES THIS VEHICLE REGULARLY, AND I DON'T WANT THE STEERING TO HAVE ISSUES WHILE SHE IS DRIVING, WHICH PUTS HER IN DANGER OF CRASHING. HAD TO REPLACE THE LUG NUTS ON ALL 4 OF MY WHEELS AT 67,119 MILES BECAUSE THEY WERE SWOLLEN. INFORMED OF CONDITION OF LUG NUTS BY THE FORD DEALERSHIP. TOOK DEALERSHIP OVER AN HOUR TO REMOVE THE SWOLLEN LUG NUTS. LUG NUTS WERE OEM 2 PIECE LUG NUTS THAT WERE ON VEHICLE WHEN PURCHASED.
MY CARS POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING ON INDIANA SR 64 EAST IN NOVEMBER 2017. WE UNPLUGGED FUSE AND LET IT RESET, PUT THE FUSE BACK IN AN IT WAS READY TO GO AGAIN.THEN ON FEBRUARY 26, 2018 IT WENT OUT AGAIN WHILE DRIVING ON INDIANA SR 64 WEST BOUND WHILE NOT ONLY MAKING IT HARD TO TURN BUT STEERING COMPLETELY LOCKED UP SO TO TRY AN KEEP IT STRAIGHT TRYING TO GET TO A SAFE SPOT TO PULL OVER IT WAS DARTING ME IN AN OUT OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. NO PREVIOUS WARNINGS OR LIGHTS, LIGHT AN WARNINGS CAME ON WHEN THE STEERING WENT OUT! NOW I'M HAVING TO PAY 1,500 DOLLARS FOR A SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAS PREVIOUSLY BEEN ADDRESSED WITH OTHER CARS OF MY SAME MAKE, MODEL, AND MODEL YEAR. WHEN I ASK SERVICE TECHNICIAN ABOUT THE PREVIOUS SAFETY ISSUES WITH STEERING IN CARS THE SAME MAKE, MODEL AND MODEL YEAR AS MINE HE SAID BUT THERE ISN'T ONE ON YOURS.
LOSS OF POWER STEERING AT START UP. I FIND IT INTERESTING THAT VIRTUALLY EVERY FORD FUSION FOR 2011-2012 WAS RECALLED EXCEPT MINE. MY STEERING DOESN'T WORK AT STARTUP PROBABLY ONE IN 10 TIMES. NOW FORD IS TALKING ABOUT RECALLING 2010 FUSIONS. WHY IS MINE NOT RECALLED WHEN IT'S HAVING PROBLEMS? I GET THAT FORD WANTS TO REPLACE AS FEW OF THESE A POSSIBLE, BUT SERIOUSLY THIS IS WHERE THE NTSB NEED TO STEP IN AND MAKE THEM DO THE RIGHT THING. LITERALLY ALMOST EVERY OTHER FORD FUSION WITH EPAS SYSTEM FROM 2010-2012 IS RECALLED EXCEPT FOR MINE? MY UNCLE GOT HIS REPLACES AND HE WASN'T EVEN HAVING PROBLEMS AND HIS 2011 HAS MORE MILES THAN MINE. MANY OTHER FORD VEHICLES WITH SIMILAR ISSUES AND FORD WANT'S TO PICK AND CHOOSE VIN #'S ? CRAZY.
AT THE GAS STATION MY SERVICE ADVANCE TRACK POWER STEERING LIGHT CAM ON I HAVE NO POWER STEERING AND IT'S NOT SAFE TO TRAVEL. I HAVE READ OTHER FOR FUSION MODELS TO BE RECALLED WITH SAME PROBLEM IN 2015 ONLY MY MODEL IS NOT INCLUDED. I HAVE 2 CHILDREN AND WI THA ONE INCOME AND CAN NOT A FORD TO HAVE THIS 2000 PROBLEM FIXED. MY CAR IS KEPT UP AND IT'S SERVICED REGULARLY.
ENGINE LIGHT ON, DROVE TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS ADVISED DUE TO WORK LOAD THEY COULD NOT PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SCAN AND TO RETURN ON MONDAY. DROVE TO PRIVATE SERVICE MECHANIC, RAN DIAGNOSTIC, REPORT SCAN CODE P1450 UNABLE TO BLEED UP TANK. REPLACED PURGE VALVE AND MESSAGE DID NOT REAPPEAR. I WAS LATER INFORMED THERE WAS A FORD SAFETY RECALL 15S34 WHICH I NEVER RECEIVED THAT WAS ISSUED. I PAID $223.70 FOR REPAIR WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN FREE AT FORD DEALER HAD I RECEIVED NOTICE.
REPORTED 04/15/17 NHTSA ID # 10978640 DRIVER SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BROKEN. I PAID $209.42 AT FORD DEALER TO ORDER AND REPLACE. THE REPLACED DOOR HANDLE BROKE AGAIN ON 02/24/18, NOT EVEN 1 YEAR LATER. RETURNED TO DEALER, ADVISED THAT PART # 6E5Z*5422601*A IS NOW IN STOCK DUE TO MULTIPLE REPLACEMENTS PERFORMED AT DEALERSHIP. SINCE THERE IS A 2 YEAR WARRANTY ON PART, THE REPLACEMENT WAS NO CHARGE HOWEVER WOULD LIKE NHTSA TO INVESTIGATE QUALITY OF PART BEING INSTALLED.
I WAS DRIVING AND GOT A NOTICE TO GET MY POWER STEERING AND ADVANCETRAC SERVICED. SOON AFTER THE POWER STEERING STOP WORKING COMPLETELY. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME IN SEPTEMBER 2016 AND THEY SUPPOSEDLY "FIXED" THE PROBLEM BY REPLACING THE STEERING GAUGE HOWEVER I WAS TOLD THAT THIS NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. FORD ISSUED A RECALL AND PAID FOR THE FIRST REPAIR BUT THEY REFUSE TO PAY FOR THIS ONE EVEN THOUGH IT THE SAME EXACT PROBLEM THAT HAPPENED BEFORE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM SEEING THAT IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER WITHOUT THE POWER STEERING.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE STEERING GEAR COULD NOT BE REPLACED BECAUSE THAT PORTION OF THE RECALL WAS EXPIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER WAS ONLY ABLE TO UPDATE THE POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE. THE FAILURE RECURRED A DAY LATER AFTER THE RECALL WAS PARTIALLY REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,020.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
MY CAR STARTED HAVING DIFFICULTY TO STEER OR TURN THE WHEEL. THE POWER STEERING IS COMPLETELY. I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY REFUSE TO CONDUCT THE RECALL BECAUSE MY CAR IS OVER THE MILEAGES LIMIT ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE MANAGER.

THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO CONFIRMED THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AND THERE WAS NO TIMEFRAME FOR WHEN THEY WOULD ARRIVE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHEN GOING IN REVERSE, I EXPERIENCE A TOTAL LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND THE CAR GOES INTO A MANUAL STEERING MODE. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN THE CAR. WHEN YOU TAKE THE KEY OUT AND PUT IT BACK IN, THE POWER STEERING MAY RETURN. THE CAR HAS BEEN KNOW TO NOT RETURN POWER STEERING FOR A FEW MINUTES. MY FUSION WAS BUILT 25 DAYS BEFORE THE RECALL DATES SO IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES SINCE ABOUT 2015.
MALFUNCTIONING DOOR LATCHES 2011 FORD FUSION -- MY DOOR HANDLE WON'T WORK AND I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT THE SAME PART IS RECALLED ON OTHER MODELS BUT NOT ON THE 2011. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS I HAVE TO CRAWL OUT MY PASSENGER SIDE DOOR.IT'S SAD THAT FORD HAS RECALLED OTHER YEAR MODELS OF THE FUSION; HOWEVER, THE 2011 IS NOT IN THE RECALL. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BECAUSE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE!!!! I SURE HOPE I NEVER GET A BIND OR SITUATION WHERE I NEED TO GET OUT OF THE CAR VERY QUICKLY (CAR WON'T START & ON FIRE, ETC.) I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND HEARD A LOUD STARTLING EXPLOSION SOUND. THE SOUND SCARED ME AND CAUSING ME TO SWERVE. I PULLED OFF ON THE SHOULDER AND NOTICED THAT IT WAS MY SUNROOF GLASS THAT LITERALLY EXLODE. THE GLASS WAS SHATTERED AND PUSHED UP A BIT. THE SUNROOF WAS NOT ENGAGED OR BEING USED AT THE TIME. I HAD JUST LEFT WORK AND WAS ON A 2 LANE HIGHWAY. THANK GOODNESS THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS AROUND WHEN I SWEREVED. THE FORD DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THEY WON'T FIX IT. SURPRISING TO ME BEING IT'S A FORD VEHICLE. I HAVE AN APPT. WITH A BODY SHOP TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIX IT.
MY POWER STEERING ADVANCETRAC WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING, MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED ON HIGHWAY, IN RESULT I BROKE MY FRONT BUMPER AND ALMOST ENDED UP IN A ACCIDENT DUE TO A LOCKED STEERING WHEEL. I TURNED IN TO FORD FOR POWER STEERING RECALL AND THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME. I NEVER HAD A THING LIKE THIS BEFORE HAPPEN. I ALSO HAVE FUEL INLET ON FUEL TANK AND I TOOK IN FOR RECALL AND ALL THE FORD DEALER DID WAS SET MY CAR OUT IN THEIR PARKING LOT AND DID NOTHING TO FIX IT., EVEN THOUGH IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. I WAS JUST GETTING INTO MY CAR WHEN I WAS AT HOME ABOUT TO LEAVE TO WORK WHEN THE MESSAGE CAME ACROSS THE DASHBOARD.
I TURNED ON MY CAR AND DROVE 20 FEET, AND IT SUDDENLY SAID "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW" ALONG WITH "ADVANCETRAC" POPPED UP ON THE DASH. I NEVER HAD ANYTHING WRONG WITH EITHER OF THESE SYSTEMS BEFORE NOW.
WAS PARKED ON LOT BUT WAS UNABLE TO MOVE CAR BECAUSE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND POWER STEERING FAILURE LIGHT CAME ON. WAS UNABLE TO MOVE CAR - TRIED TWICE. HAD TO HAVE CAR TOWED TO FORD DEALERSHIP. DEALERSHIP REPLACED POWER STEERING RACK.
POWER STEERING UPDATE THAT NEEDS TO BE DONE. I HAVE CALLED THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, TO GET THE TIME, AND DAY TOO GET THE UPDATE TO THE STEERING DONE. I LEFT A MESSAGE, THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD CALL BACK, AND I GOT HUNG UP ON . IM HONESTLY OUT OF OPTIONS. I DO FEEL BAD I HAVE TO RESORT TO THIS TO GET THIS DONE. THE CAR IS DRIVABLE, BUT THIS IS STILL INCOMPLETE. HELP ME COMPLETE THIS. SINCE THESE PHONE CALLS HAPPENED OVER SEVERAL DAYS IM GOING TO PUT TODAY'S DATE. I HOPE YOU UNDERSTAND.
SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW LIGHT CAME ON AND BECAME DIFFICULT TO STEER. AFTER PARKING THE STEERING FROZE UP COMPLETELY AND THE WHEEL COULD NO LONGER BE TURNED IN ANY DIRECTION. I HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THERE WAS A RECALL ON OVER 400,000 OF THESE VEHICLES FOR THIS SAME EXACT PROBLEM BUT THE DEALER IS TELLING ME THAT MY VIN IS NOT COVERED. PLEASE EXTEND THE RECALL TO ALL OF THE 2011 FUSIONS.
