TAKATA RECALL - THE AIRBAG, TAKATA RECALL, WAS ISSUED IN 2016 & I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET THIS REPLACED SINCE 2016. THE FORD DEALERSHIPS AROUND LAFAYETTE, LA STILL DO NOT HAVE THIS PART IN STOCK FOR IT TO BE FIXED/REPLACED. THIS IS A VERY UNSAFE (& COULD BE DEEADLY) ISSUE THAT MUST BE FIXED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING), BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A GEAR ISSUE RELATED TO THE RECALL. THE GEAR WAS REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE DEALER STATED THEY WOULD CONTACT THE FORD RECALL CENTER TO HAVE THE RECALL REOPENED OR ELSE THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.

DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE THIS IS HIGHLY UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY FORD HAS BEEN MADE AWARE OF THIS FROM MANY PEOPLE AND HAS RECALLED OTHER YEARS OF THIS MODEL FOR THE SAME THING. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO REACH OUTSIDE MY WINDOW TO OPEN THE DRIVER DOOR
WHILE DRIVING WHENEVER I STOPPED OR SLOWED TO TURN THE ENGINE WOULD START TO NOT PULL AS IF NOT GETTING GAS, THE CARE WOULD START SHAKING. HAPPENS WHENEVER SLOWING THEN TURNING OR PULLING OFF FROM A STOPPED POSITION

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALER, BUT THE WARNING INDICATOR CONTINUED TO REMAIN ILLUMINATED FOR MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SECOND DEALER AND REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR INSIDE HANDLE BROKE AND DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED AT THE TIME IN MY DRIVEWAY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE BEING ABLE TO EGRESS FROM AN AUTO WHEN IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION IS IMPERATIVE.
STOPPED CAR IN A PARKING LOT GOT OUT TO REFEREE A SPORTING EVENT. RETURNED TO CAR AND THERE WAS NO POWER STEERING WHEN I STARTED THE CAR. THE ELECTRONIC INDICATORS TOLD ME TO HAVE THE ELECTRONIC STEERING MODULE SERVICED. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR HOME BUT IT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO TURN THE WHEELS. THIS HAS BEEN BE AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM FOR A YEAR NOW BUT WOULD STRAIGHTEN ITSELF OUT BY TURNING OFF AND ON THE IGNITION. THIS TIME THAT PROCESS DID NOT STRAIGHTEN OUT THE PROBLEM. I CONTACT FORD VIA THEIR ON-LINE COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT. FORD REPLY BACK TO ME WAS THAT ALTHOUGH THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM MY VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. FORD ALSO ASKED ME TO TAKE THE CAR TO MY DEALER TO REMEDY THE SITUATION. SINCE THIS IS A KNOWN SAFETY PROBLEM WITH THIS MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR FORD SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. I AM NOW PAYING FOR A CAR LOAN FOR A CAR I CANNOT DRIVE.
MY SON AND HIS NEW FAMILY WERE GOING ACROSS A MAJOR INTERSECTION WHEN THE CAR JUST DIED. THEY WERE ALMOST HIT BY OTHER CARS. THEY COASTED ACROSS THE INTERSECTION, THEN SHUT THE CAR OFF THEN RESTARTED IT IT DROVE FOR A FEW FEET THEN DIED AGAIN. MY SON PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THERE WAS ALSO TWO CHILDREN IN THE CAR, 3 YEAR OLD AND 2 MONTH OLD. I HAD IT TOWED TO A DEALER. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY THAT FAILED. THEN I DID RESEARCH AND FOUND THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS CAR,AND THAT MANY PEOPLE WERE ALSO INVOLVED IN NEAR MISSES AND OR ACCIDENT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THEY FULFILLED THEIR RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE MECHANIC AND REPAIRED. ONE MONTH PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO BE REMEDIED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V793000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. DAUGHTER SAYS HER FUSION STEERING LOCKED TIGHT AT LOW SPEED IN A PARKING LOT AND SHE COULDN'T TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP. THEY SAY THE RACK AND PINION AND THE ELECTRONIC MODULE NEED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $1600.
MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH WOULD NOT OPEN... WENT TO THE DEALERS AND THEY TOLD ME THAT 2012 , 2013 HAVE BEEN RECALLED BUY NOT MY YEAR.
2011 FORD FUSION. THE POWER STEERING SERVICE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO 2 FORD DEALERSHIPS FOR SERVICE. BOTH DEALERSHIP REPAIRED AND CLEARED THE CODES, BUT ITS STILL A PROBLEM. ITS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR 6 MONTHS. THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME 3000.00 TO REPLACE THE WHOLE STEERING SYSTEM. ANOTHER ISSUE I HAVE IS THE DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. I HAVE TO PUT THE WINDOW DOWN TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. THIS MOVE IS UNSAFE. FORD SHOULD BE AWARE OF THIS.

UNACCEPTABLE TO BE QUOTED OVER $1000 TO FIX ALL CONTROL ARMS ON A CAR WITH THAT MANY MILES. COMMON PROBLEM IN THIS MODEL. WE HAVE REPLACED THE WORST CONTROL ARMS AS THEY HAVE GONE BAD, BUT STILL NEED TO REPAIR THE REMAINDER. VEHICLE NOW HAS 125,XXX MILES

THE CONTACT TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND IT RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED AT LEAST TEN TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

TOOK IT TO DEALER THAT SOLD THE CAR (TODAY 04/25/2016) TO HAVE SUSPENSION AND POWER STEERING CHECKED. I SEE ONLINE THERE ARE RECALLS ON SOME FORD FUSION POWER STEERING? MY VIN IS NOT LISTED.
BRAKE PEDAL RANDOMLY GOES TO THE FLOOR WHILE IN MOTION AT LOW SPEEDS.
"FUSION RECALL" MY 2011 FORD FUSION SE MADE IN MEXICO HAS A POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. THIS HAPPENED WHEN LEAVING MY DRIVEWAY. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THE PROBLEM IS A FAULTY STEERING GEAR. THIS PART IS CURRENTLY PART OF A RECALL ON 2011 FORD FUSION MANUFACTURED IN MEXICO. MY ISSUE IS THE RECALL DOES NOT INCLUDE MY VEHICLE AS THE RECALL BEGAN WITH VEHICLES MANUFACTURED IN SEPTEMBER OF 2010 AND MY VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN AUGUST OF 2010. SAME PROBLEM, SAME PLANT, SAME CAR, SIMPLE MADE THE PREVIOUS MONTH. COSTING ME THE CONSUMER ALMOST $2000.00 TO FIX THIS KNOWN MANUFACTURES DEFECT. WHILE THERE WAS INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS THAT SEEMED TO GO AWAY WITH RESTARTING THE ENGINE TOTAL FAILURE OCCURRED ON APR 11 2016. I HAVE SEARCHED VARIOUS FORUMS AND I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON THIS HAS HAPPENED TO WHOSE VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED WITH IN A FEW WEEKS OF THE RECALL DATE.
WHEN I START UP THE ENGINE THE MESSAGE "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" SHOWS UP IN THE DASH AND POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING. TURN THE CAR OFF AND ON AND IT SEEMS TO WORK AGAIN. LUCKILY SO FAR HAS ONLY HAPPENED WHEN STATIONARY
STEERING, LEFT OR RIGHT, CAUSES SIGNIFICANT "GRINDING" TYPE NOISE. INDEPENDENT SHOP COULD NOT NARROW IT DOWN, ALTHOUGH FIRST THOUGHT WAS RACK & PINION. THIS VEHICLE (3.0L) DOES NOT HAVE A STANDARD RACK AND PINION. THIS NOISE OCCURS WHETHER STATIONARY OR IN MOTION. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE, HOWEVER, THEY COULD REPLACE THE CONTROL ARMS TO SEE IF THAT HELPS RESOLVE THE ISSUE. DUE TO THE COST (ROUGHLY $1500, WITH NO GUARANTEE IT WOULD RESOLVE THE ISSUE) WE DECIDED TO SEE IF WE COULD GET A BETTER IDEA OF WHERE THE ISSUE COMES FROM. IT OCCURS WHILE STATIONARY AND IN MOTION, SO IT IS NOTE RELATED TO THE SUSPENSION CYCLING, BUT IS SPECIFICALLY RELATED TO STEERING LEFT OR RIGHT. SEEMS TO BE RELATED TO THE STEERING MECHANISM. THIS IS AN ONGOING/RECURRING ISSUE THAT IS GETTING WORSE, WITH NO SHOP TECH ABLE TO SPECIFICALLY IDENTIFY. ALL RECALL/SOFTWARE UPDATES (PCM, ETC.) HAVE BEEN COMPLETED BY THE DEALER.
BOTH FRONT SEAT, INTERNAL DOOR LATCHES HAVE BROKEN. THE DRIVER'S SIDE WENT FIRST, FOLLOWED BY THE PASSENGER SIDE, BOTH RECEIVED ONLY NORMAL USE. NOW, TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, THE WINDOW MUST BE ROLLED DOWN AND THE DOOR OPENED FROM THE OUTSIDE LATCH, OR A TWO-HAND TECHNIQUE CAN BE LEARNED TO OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. THIS PREVENTS SPEEDY EGRESS IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY SITUATION I.E. FLOODS, FIRES, ETC. THE CAR CURRENTLY HAS 72863 MILES BUT THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED MORE THAN A YEAR OR TWO AGO.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,700.

HAD BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY 2011 FORD FUSION SINCE EARLY 2015. EACH TIME I PUT FUEL INTO THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE WOULDN'T START ' SIMILAR TO WHAT HAPPENS WHEN ENGINE IS FLOODED. THOUGHT IT WAS BAD FUEL. RAN THE FUEL TANK TO NEARLY EMPTY AND REFUELED. SAME ISSUE EVERY TIME I REFUEL. MADE SURE THERE WAS NOTHING BLOCKING THE FUEL FILLER CAP/FLAP. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WOULD GO ON AND OFF AND THEN STAYED ON. IN SEPT 2015, TOOK VEHICLE TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC AND THE ERROR CODES (PO456 AND PO104) INDICATED A PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM. REPLACED PURGE SOLENOID. DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 15S34 IN JANUARY 2016 RELATED TO A DEFECT/SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE FUEL SYSTEM & FUEL TANK. MARCH 2016 (ENGINE LIGHT STILL ON) TOOK VEHICLE TO FORD DEALER AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEMS I'VE BEEN HAVING AND PROVIDED BILL FROM MECHANIC AND DOCUMENTATION FOUND OF OTHER FORD OWNERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. DEALER INSPECTED VEHICLE & SAID EVERYTHING WAS FINE EXCEPT THAT I HAVE A LEAK IN MY FUEL FILLER NECK WHICH IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL, BUT THEY COULD REPLACE 'FOR ABOUT $250 OR SO'. HOW IS IT THAT THIS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL? FUEL AND FUMES LEAKING FROM THE FILLER NECK ARE AS DANGEROUS AS CRACKS AND LEAKS IN THE TANK. DID SOME RESEARCH AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM THAT FORD HAS BEEN MADE AWARE OF. THERE IS NO REASONABLE EXPLANATION AS TO HOW I WOULD HAVE CRACKED THE FUEL FILLER NECK. THE CAR ONLY HAS APPROX. 66K MILES ON IT, WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW IN 2010, IS REGULARLY SERVICED AND HAS NEVER BEEN MISUSED. CONTACTED FORD AND WAS ADVISED THAT THEY WOULD "NOTE" MY SAFETY CONCERNS IN THEIR CASE (CAS-9098523). NHTSA NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS AND FORCE FORD TO TAKE CORRECTIVE MEASURES.

AFTER GETTING THE VEHICLE UNDER CONTROL I CALLED B & B FORD'S TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON. I ENDED UP HAVING MY VEHICLE TOWED TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP. THE FORD DEALERSHIP MENTION THE POWER WAS MY RACK AND PINION HAD TO BE REPLACE BECAUSE IT WAS CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH MY POWER STEERING, WHICH COST ME $1650.51. SINCE HAVING THE POWER STEERING FIXED, I BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP OVER 5 TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEMS AND BEEN HAVING TO PAY THEM OVER AND OVER! SOMETHING THE B & B FORD SAID THEY FIXED THE FIRST TIME I GAVE THEM 1650.51

POWER STEERING GOES OUT, FORD SAYS THIS VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. IT SHOULD BE, THE POWER STEERING THROWS A CODE. YOU MUST PULL OVER AND RESTART THE CAR FOR IT TO RESET.
