THE POWER STEERING ASSIST CODE KEEPS COMING ON ON THE DASH EVERY OTHEE DAY FOR WELL OVER A YEAR NOW. WHEN THAT COMES ON YOU CAN BARELY STEER THE FRICKEN THING WHEN IT HAPPENS. IVE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE IT HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING SLOW IN TOWN AND HAVENT HAD ANY ACCIDENTS LUCKILY. SOME VERY CLOSE CALLS THOUGH!

THE CONTACT CALLED D AND D FORD (13655 E WADE HAMPTON BLVD, GREER, SC 29651, (855) 505-1172) AND WAS INFORMED THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE TO COMPLETE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE CONTACT WAS WAITING OVER A YEAR TO HAVE THE AIR BAG REPLACED. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
I WAS ON THE ROAD PACK SADDLE IN JONESTOWN TX 78645, WHEN I PULLED ON TO ROAD 1431. A LARGE TRUCK WITH A CRASH GUARD HIT ME ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE @ 60MPH. THE ACCIDENT TURNED MY CAR INTO A HORSE SHOE, AND SENJT ME INTO ON COMING TRAFIC. ALL OF THE AIR BAGS WERE ACTIVATED AND SAVED BOTH ME AND MY WIFE BUT, THE RESIDUE THAT CAME WITH THE ACTIVATION PEPPERD ME IN THE FACE AND RUINED MY GLASSES. IF I HAD NOT HAD MY GLASSES ON,I WOULD HAVE LOST MY VISION DUE TO SUCH. WE WERE ON A COUNTY ROAD.TURNING LEFT AND MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION.
HALF SHAFT AXEL IS LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID DUE TO THE SHAFTS SURFACE FINISH WEARING DOWN THE COMPONENTS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS MAKE MODEL AND YEAR. VERY COSTLY FOR CONSUMERS TO FIX AND EXTREMELY UNSAFE FOR THE DRIVER AND OTHER MOTORISTS ON THE ROAD AS I WAS TOLD IT CAN CAUSE YOUR TRANSMISSION TO BLOW WHILE DRIVING AND STOP YOUR CAR SUDDENLY IF NOT ADDRESSED. I ONLY BECAME AWARE OF THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN TAKING MY CAR IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE, DUE TO ONLY DRIVING THE VEHICLE 3,000 MILES PER YEAR I ONLY GET AN OIL CHANGE ONCE A YEAR. WHO KNOWS HOW LONG THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM.
LOWER CONTROL ARMS PREMATURE WEAR AFTER POWER TRAIN REPROGRAM
TAKATA-MANUFACTURED AIRBAG RECALL THIS NOTIFICATION WAS SENT OUT BACK IN JANUARY OF THIS YEAR AND HAS NOT BEEN REMEDIED! THIS IS NOT TIMELY AND IS PUTTING NUMEROUS LIVES AT RISK - THEY NEED TO REINSTALL THE ENTIRE AIRBAG IF THEY CANNOT REPLACE THE FAULTY PART. WAITING ALMOST A YEAR FOR A REMEDY IS UNACCEPTABLE.
TAKATA INFLATORS HAVE NOT BEEN REPLACED. HAVE CALLED REPEATEDLY. HAVE CALLED VARIOUS FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE NOT SET UP FREE REPLACEMENT APPT.
I CALLED THE FREEWAY FORD DEALERSHIP IN BLOOMINGTON MN TO SCHEDULE THE RECALL OF MY AIR BAG. THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NO FIX FOR THE ISSUE YET.
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE ON 2012 FORD FUSION. POWER STEERING ASSIST LIGHT IS ON AND THERE IS NO POWER STEERING. VERY DANGEROUS AS IT GIVES OUT WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. FORD KNOWS THEY HAVE A LARGER PROBLEM WITH 2012 FORD FUSIONS (JUST READ THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE) BUT HAVE NOT EXPANDED THE RECALL AND LEAVES THESE DANGEROUS CARS ON THE ROAD WHERE POWER STEERING STOPS WORKING EVEN WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING. FORD DEALER SAID CAR IS NOT COVER BY WARRANTY OR BY RECALL. COST TO REPAIR $1,600.

WE RECEIVED A LETTER INFORMING US OUR FRONT AIRBAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BACK IN MARCH OF 2017. AS OF TODAY (NOVEMBER 8, 2017) FORD STILL DOES NOT HAVE THE REPLACEMENT PART FOR THIS CAR. I'VE SPOKEN TO BOTH OUR LOCAL FORD DEALER AND FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY ALSO COULDN'T TELL ME WHETHER THE CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE OR NOT.

WHILE DRIVING, THE POWER STEERING WILL INTERMITTENTLY STOP WORKING, REQUIRING UNEXPECTED DIFFICULT STEERING.
TAKATA RECALL. IN JANUARY 2017 I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD STATING THAT MY 2012 FORD FUSION HAD A RECALL REPAIR/REPLACEMENT DUE. THE PART TO BE REPLACED WAS A TAKATA INFLATOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE THAT COULD CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH TO THE OCCUPANTS. REPEATED PHONE CALLS AND VISITS FROM JANUARY THROUGH OCTOBER 2017 TO TWO OF MY LOCAL FORD DEALERS RESULTED IN REPEATED DENIALS OF REPLACEMENT DUE TO "WE DON'T HAVE THE PARTS" AND "SOME TIME NEXT YEAR" (2018). IT HAS NOW BEEN 10 MONTHS THAT I HAVE BEEN DRIVING A POTENTIALLY LETHAL VEHICLE.
CAR IIS IN PARK AND PULL THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION IT WILL NOT COME OUT . MAKING SURE IT IS IN PARKED , TURN THE WHEEL TRIED ALL THAT AND STILL STUCK THE ONLY WAY I CAN TAKE THE KEY OUT OF THE IGNITION IS TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. FORD DEALERSHIP SAID IT NEEDED A NEW SHIFTER
TAKATA RECALL: I WAS NOTIFIED OF THIS RECALL BACK IN ARIL 2017 ADVISE CARD DEALER OF RECALL AND THEY STATED THEY WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN PARTS ARRIVE.
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY UPON RETURNING FROM ERRANDS. THE NEXT MORNING THE POWER STEERING ASSIST AND THE ADVANCETRAC SYSTEM FAILURE LIGHTS WERE ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE WHILE DRIVING AND AFTER PARKING AT MY WORKPLACE. USUALLY RESTARTING THE VEHICLE WOULD CORRECT THE ISSUE. THIS TIME IT WOULD NOT RESET AND I BROUGHT IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. I UNDERSTAND THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2012 FORD FUSION AND OTHER FORD MAKES FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THE VIN # ON MY FUSION DOESN'T MATCH ANY CURRENT RECALL AND WILL NOT COVER THE COST OF REPAIR. MY QUESTION IS IF THIS IS A KNOWN FORD PROBLEM WHY SHOULD IT NOT COVER MY VEHICLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE FOR RECALL ? JUST BECAUSE THE VIN # ISN'T IN THE SYSTEM IS NO REASON NOT TO FIX THIS. THE FRONT DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE THEE CAR. I WAS PARKED AND READY TO GET OUT AT WORK.

TAKATA RECALL. I HAD RECEIVED NOTICE OF MY AIRBAG INFLATOR BEING RECALLED ON JANUARY 10TH, 2017. IT IS OCTOBER 31ST, 2017 AND FORD IS STILL UNABLE TO CHANGE OUT MY INFLATOR AND MAKE IT SAFE TO DRIVE. THIS AIRBAG INFLATOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED IN A MORE TIMELY MANNER TO PREVENT POSSIBLE INJURY. THANK YOU.

A RUPTURED INFLATOR MAY RESULT IN METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING VEHICLE OCCUPANTS CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH..." I CALLED FORD COMPANY TODAY 10/31/17 (8 MONTHS AFTER THE INITIAL NOTICE WHICH I TOOK VERY SERIOUSLY) AND WAS TOLD BY THE FORD REPRESENTATIVE THAT THEY HAVE NO DATE FOR WHEN THE PARTS FOR THE REMEDY WOULD BE AVAILABLE. SO FORD HAS TOLD ME THAT ME AND MY WIFE COULD SUFFER SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH IN THE EVENT THAT THE AIRBAG IS DEPLOYED AND THERE IS NO TIMEFRAME FOR RESOLVING THIS VERY SERIOUS DEFICIENCY. DRIVER SIDE FRONT DOOR HANDLE CEASED OPERATION. THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE, BUT WILL OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP ABOUT THIS AND THEY STATED THEY HAVE REPLACED MANY OF THESE, BUT IT IS NOT ON A SAFETY RECALL AT THIS TIME. THE REPAIR COST IS APPROXIMATELY $170. I CONSIDER THIS A SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO NOT BEING ABLE TO OPEN THE DRIVER'S DOOR IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY. VEHICLE WAS PARKED AND NOT MOVING WHEN THIS OCCURRED.

I WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AND THE LIGHTS JUST CAME ON FOR NO REASON. STEERING WHEEL LOCKS ON SHARP TURNS AT SLOW SPEEDS. CUTS OFF BLUETOOTH WHEN IT HAPPENS. ABS, TRACTION AND BRAKE LIGHT COME ON. I LOOKED ON CARS.COM AND SAW A RECALL IN 2015 FOR THIS SAME THING. I GOT MY CAR IN EARLY 2016. UNDER MY VIN IT SAYS THE POWER STEERING WAS SERVICED IN 2014 BEFORE THEY EVEN KNEW ABOUT THE RECALL. NOW THE FORD DEALERSHIPS DON'T SEE THE 2015 RECALL IN THEIR COMPUTERS. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND I DON'T WANT TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. PLEASE HELP ME.
"TAKATA RECALL" I RECEIVED THE NOTIFICATION CONCERNING THE AIRBAG RECALL IN THE MAIL THE DAY BEFORE THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AND WAS EVENTUALLY CONSIDERED TO BE A TOTAL LOSS. THE AIRBAG IN THE DRIVERS SIDE DID DEPLOY AND PIECES OF WHAT I THOUGHT WERE GLASS WERE EMBEDDED IN MY SKIN ON MY LEFT HAND THOUGH THERE WASN'T ANY GLASS IN THAT AREA THAT SEEMED TO BE LOOSE. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE AIRBAG CONTINUED TO BURN FOR AN EXTREMELY LONG TIME. THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED AND AFTER ALL PARTIES WERE EVALUATED AND THE ROAD WAS CLEARED A BIT, THE TOW TRUCK ARRIVED AND THE STEERING COLUMN STILL HAD SMOKE COMING FROM THE AIRBAG REGION WHICH THE PARAMEDIC MENTIONED SEEMED TO BE LONGER THAT USUAL FOR IT TO STILL BE SMOKING. THIS ACCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE ,Y VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND HIT A STOPPED CAR WHICH THEN HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE ON A CITY STREET WHILE DRIVING IN THE FORWARDS POSITION.
POWER STEERING FAILURE! EPAS SYSTEM ON 10/27/2017. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING CAR, SHE STOPPED FOR GAS, SHE STARTED CAR AND POWER STEERING FAILED. I SEE THERE IS A RECALL ON THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM BUT GUESS WHAT MY VIN NUMBER IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL! SOUNDS FISHY TO ME WHY DO I HAVE A EPAS SYSTEM FAILURE AND MY CAR IS NOT PART OF RECALL? I HAVE A CASE NUMBER AT FORD #13421730. I HAVE THE CAR AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN BUDA TEXAS TRUCK CITY FORD. THEY ARE GOING TO CHARGE ME $115.00 TO ANALYSE THE CAR WITH THEIR COMPUTER. UNABLE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH ANYONE WITH TK HOLDINGS INC OR FIND ANY INFO ON HOW TO GET MY AIRBAG REPLACED, THEY JUST HAVE RECORDINGS AND SEND YOU TO NOWHERE
DRIVER INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BREAKING.

THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLES BREAK QUICKLY. THE DRIVES SIDE DOOR HANDLE HAS BUSTED 2 TIMES IN A YEAR AND THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLE HAS BUSTED AS WELL. THIS IS A TERRIBLE DESIGN FLAW ON FORD'S PART. I HAVE ALREADY FIXED THE DOOR HANDLE ONCE AND NOW GOTTA FIX THEM BOTH.

THERE IS A GRINDING/POOPING NOISE FROM FRONT OF VEHICLE WHEN TURNING. THE RECALL 15S18 WAS REPROGRAMMED ALONG RECALL 16B38 BUT THE NOISE HAS CONTINUED AND HAS GOTTEN WORSE. WHEN DRIVING SLOW AND TURNING TO THE LEFT AND RIGHT IN A PARKING LOT IT IS VERY NOTICEABLE THE DEALERSHIP STATED THE NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE STEERING RACK.
I RECEIVED THE SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 17S01 / NHTSA RECALL 17V-024 IN MARCH 2017. IT IS NOW 10/23/17 AND I STILL CANNOT FIND A FORD DEALERSHIP THAT HAS THE PARTS TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I JUST RECEIVED NOTICE THAT TAKATA IS FILING BANKRUPTCY AND THAT I SHOULD FIND A DEALERSHIP TO FIX IT. UNFORTUNATELY ALL FORD DEALERS IN THE RALEIGH AREA SAY THAT THEY STILL DON'T HAVE PARTS.
TAKATA RECALL. I HAVE REPORTED THIS BEFORE, YET NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. I AM VOLUNTARILY TURNING THE CAR IN SINCE THEY DON'T WANT TO FIX IT. THEY HAVE HAD ALMOST A YEAR TO FIX IT AND HAVE DONE NOTHING. THERE HAS BEEN NO ACCIDENT WITH THE CAR. THE BAG HAS NOT DEPLOYED. CAN NOT PUT IN A DATE AS NOTHING HAS HAPPENED YET.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR HANDLE BECAME JAMMED WHEN ATTEMPTING TO OPEN THE DOOR. THE CONTACT HAD TO PULL THE OPEN LEVER AND PULL THE DOOR HANDLE TO OPEN THE DOOR. TAMIAMI FORD (1471 AIRPORT PULLING RD N, NAPLES, FL) DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW DOOR HANDLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
THE ADVANCETRAC AND EPAS (ELECTRONIC POWER ASSIST STEERING) FAILURE WARNINGS HAVE COME ON. IT IS ACTUALLY "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" AND "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW". THIS FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE WAS MY WIFE WAS DRIVING HER 2012 FORD FUSION. SHE WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN AND THE STEERING WENT OUT (STEERING BECAME VERY DIFFICULT). APPARENTLY, IT WENT INTO MANUAL MODE. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM HOWEVER OUR CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED AS PART OF THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT WAS MADE IN THE SAME MEXICO PLANT WITH THE SAME MODEL YEAR PLUS IT IS A 4 CYLINDER 2.5L ENGINE (NOT THE 3.5L). FORD DOES NOT WANT TO OWN UP THAT THIS IS THEIR PROBLEM. INSTEAD, IT WILL BE A $1900 FIX FOR US TO UPDATE SOFTWARE AND/OR REPLACE EPAS. OUR CAR WAS MANUFACTURED A MONTH AFTER THE FEBRUARY 2012 END WINDOW FOR THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE DRIFTS INCREDIBLY TO THE LEFT. JUST RECENTLY, I HAD TO REPLACE JUST THE FRONT LH TIRE AS THE STEEL RADIAL WAS EXPOSED AND THE TIRE BULGED. THIS WAS DUE TO THE UNEVEN WEAR EXERTED BY THE EPAS ISSUE. WE DO NOT HAVE THE DEEP POCKETS TO GET THIS RESOLVED. WE NEED HELP FROM NHTSA AND FORD TO EXTEND THE RECALL TO ALL 2012 FORD FUSIONS. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE DFMEA ON THIS CAR SPECIFICALLY THE STEERING SYSTEM FROM TRW.
CAR HAS UNEXPECTEDLY TURNED TEMPERATURE IN CAR FROM NORMAL TO EXTREMELY HOT. HAS CAUSED WINDSHIELD TO IMMEDIATELY FOG AND UNABLE TO SEE, INCLUDING ON HIGHWAY AT FASTER SPEEDS. APPEARS TO BE ISSUE AFFECTING MANY OTHERS WITH SIMILAR YEARS OF FORD FUSION MODELS, WITH NO IMMEDIATE FIX. I MYSELF WAS TRAVELING AT 65 MILES PER HOUR ON HIGHWAY WHEN ONE OF THE FIRST INCIDENTS OCCURRED. I HAD ANOTHER INCIDENT WHERE THE TEMPERATURE OF THE AIR COMING OUT OF MY VENTS WENT FROM AIR CONDITIONED COOL AIR TO EXTREMELY HOT. WOULDN'T THIS POTENTIALLY CAUSE A LOT OF ACCIDENTS?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FUSION. AFTER STARTING THE ENGINE, THE STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN AND THE "STEERING FAILURE" AND "ADVANCE TRACK" WARNING MESSAGES DISPLAYED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (DON DAVIS FORD IN ARLINGTON, TEXAS) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
I WAS TRAVELING DOWN A MAIN STREET AND I HEARD A BEEP AND POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT LITE UP ON MY DASH AS WELL WITH SERVICE ADVANCETRAC CAME ON SO I PULL OFF THE ROAD AND INTO A PARKING LOT AND MY WHEEL ALL THE SUDDEN GOT STIFF. I SAT THERE FOR A FEW TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG AND I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND LET IT SIT FOR A FEW MINS AND TURNED IT BACK ON HOPING IT WOULD GO AWAY WELL IT DIDN'T, SO I GOT IT HOME FINALLY 6 HOURS LATER STILL WITH ALL THEM LIGHTS ON AND THE WHEEL BEING STIFF LET IT SIT OVER NIGHT AND EVERYTHING NEXT DAY I GO BACK TO THE CAR HOPING ONCE AGAIN IT WOULD GO AWAY AND IT DIDN'T.
