I FAILED TO LEAVE THE CAR IN 1ST GEAR ON AN APPROXIMATELY 4% GRADE. I ENGAGED THE PARKING BRAKE AND LEFT THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE REMAINED PARKED IN PLACE FOR 20-30 MINUTES. SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 0 AND 30 MINUTES LATER, THE PARKING BRAKE RELEASED AND THE VEHICLE ROLLED DOWN THE GRADE, CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE AND NEIGHBOR'S PROPERTY. I AM AN EX-BRAKING ENGINEER AND HAVE REPRODUCED THE DEFECT MULTIPLE TIMES WELL UNDER THE FMVSS 135 PROTOCOL LIMITS OF ACCEPTABLE PERFORMANCE. I COMMUNICATED THIS TO FORD CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY WISH FOR ME TO HAVE BODY DAMAGE REPLACED THROUGH INSURANCE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE REVERSING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, THE REAR BRAKES FAILED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WHILE DRIVING FROM SOUTH CAROLINA TO BOSTON MA, A DISTANCE OF 1,000 MILES, ON JUNE 12-13, 2015, I BEGAN EXPERIENCING SEVERE EYE IRRITATION, SORE THROAT, AND DIZZINESS. THERE WAS AN ACRID ODOR THAT I INITIALLY THOUGH WAS COMING FROM THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM. THE RED EYES, SORE THROAT AND DIZZINESS PERSISTED FOR SEVERAL DAYS AFTER I ARRIVED IN BOSTON,REDUCING IN SEVERITY WITH EACH DAY BECAUSE I DID NOT DRIVE THE CAR WHILE THERE. HOWEVER, WHEN I DROVE BACK FROM BOSTON TO SOUTH CAROLINA, THE SYMPTOMS REAPPEARED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT NEW AND THEY CHECK THE REFRIGERANT IN THE A/C SYSTEM AND COULD FIND NOTHING. THEY RECOMMENDED USING ONLY THE MAX AIR SYSTEM IN ORDER TO ELIMINATE EXTERIOR AIR FROM THE SYSTEM. TELLING ME THAT CERTAIN CHEMICALS USED IN PREPPING THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT FOR DELIVERY TO A CUSTOMER CAN EXUDE IRRITATING FUMES. I TOLD THEM THE FUMES I HAD EXPERIENCED SEEMED TO ME TO BE MORE FUEL RELATED, BUT NOT THE ODOR OF RAW GASOLINE. I HAVE BEEN USING THE MAX AIR SETTINGS AND HAVE NOT HAD A SIMILAR SYMPTOM EXPERIENCE, ALTHOUGH I HAVE ONLY DRIVING SHORT DISTANCES SINCE RETURNING FROM BOSTON. I HAVE RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 15S19 FROM FORD, BUT I BELIEVE THE RECALL NOTICE UTTERLY FAILS TO EXPLAIN THE PHYSICAL DANGER TO OCCUPANTS OF THE VEHICLE RESULTING FROM PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO THE FUMES. I BELIEVE THE RECALL NOTICE NEEDS TO BE AMENDED TO EXPRESS AN URGENCY RELATING TO THE MEDICAL IMPACT OF THIS PROBLEM AS I HAVE EXPERIENCED IT. IT TOOK MORE THAN 10 DAYS FOR THE SYMPTOMS, IN PARTICULAR THE DIZZINESS AND SORE THROAT, TO SUBSIDE.
CAR IS EXPERIENCING A VIBRATION PROBLEM AT 65 TO 75 MPH, IN 6 GEAR, AND ENGINE IS AT 1750 RPM. VIBRATION IS DUPLICATED AGAIN, IN 5TH GEAR, AND ENGINE IS AT 2500 RPM. ALSO, WITH CAR IN THE STOP POSITION, CAR IN NEUTRAL, WITH CLUTCH IN OR OUT, SLOWLY REVVING THE ENGINE VIBRATION OCCURS AT 1500 TO 1750 RPMS. ALSO IF YOU QUICKLY REV THE ENGINE TO 2500 RPM AND DROP REVS SLOWLY VIBRATION REOCCURS AT 1750 TO 1500 RPM. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN PRESENT WITH INITIAL PURCHASE OF VEHICLE, DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS TIRES AND DRIVE IT FOR AWHILE. THE CAR HAS SINCE BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES, REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES, FORCE ROAD BALANCED 3 TIMES, AND HAS BEEN TO SECOND FORD DEALERSHIP FOR CONFIRMING VIBRATION PROBLEM. SECOND DEALERSHIP ALSO HAD ANOTHER NEW MUSTANG EXPERIENCING SAME VIBRATION AND COULD NOT BE FIXED. FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS DECLARED THE VIBRATION PROBLEM IS WITHIN SPECS FOR MUSTANGS AND HAS DECLARED IT "NORMAL OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS" FOR MUSTANGS. AT THIS POINT MY CASE WITH FORD HAS BEEN CLOSED. IF THIS VIBRATION PROBLEM IS OCCURRING IN 40 PERCENT OF MUSTANGS AS A PRIOR COMPLAINT HAS STATED THEN FORD MOTORS NEED TO ADDRESS IT AND NOT IGNORE IT.
UPON APPROACHING 60MPH THE CAR EXHIBITS AN EXTREME VIBRATION FROM THE DRIVELINE. IT IS FELT THROUGH THE WHOLE VEHICLE, THE STEERING WHEEL AND SEATS. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE DRIVESHAFT, AND THE VIBRATION IS STILL PRESENT. THE DEALERSHIP BELIEVES THE PROBLEM IS AXLE RELATED AND ASKED FOR ASSISTANCE FROM FORD. FORD ACKNOWLEDGED THE ISSUE, BUT DID NOT OFFER A SOLUTION . THE DEALERSHIP BELIEVES IT IS A SAFETY CONCERN. FORD IS STILL NOT ADDRESSING IT. FROM THE ONLINE COMMUNITY, THIS IS AN ISSUE AFFECTING 40% OF 2015 MUSTANG VEHICLES. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED.
I HAVE A 2015 MUSTANG GT PREMIUM WITH A STANDARD TRANSMISSION AND WHEN EVER I'M AT A STOP AND PRESS ON CLUTCH TO PUT INTO 1ST. GEAR THERE IS A THUD SOUND LIKE THE CLUTCH ISN'T HOLDING. AND GOING INTO 2ND. GEAR THERE'S A GRINDING FEELING LIKE SYNCHROS ARE BROKEN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE ODOR OF FUEL WAS PRESENT INSIDE AND OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED USING NO FUEL CAP. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE FUEL TANK DOOR WOULD RANDOMLY OPEN AND EXPOSE THE FUEL OPENING. IN ADDITION, OIL WAS DISCOVERED LEAKING FROM THE ENGINE. NO FURTHER INFORMATION WAS AVAILABLE. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD MUSTANG GT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THE WINDSHIELD WIPER AND TURNING SIGNAL FLASHER BECAME INOPERABLE INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,200.

WHEN GAS PEDAL IS FLOORED IN DRIVE, FIRST GEAR WILL NOT SHIFT AND HITS REV, LIMITER AND QUITS. BBB SIDED WITH FORD. ARTICLE IN CAR AND DRIVE TESTED A NEW 2015, MUSTANG V-6 6 SPEED AUTOMATIC. AUG 2015 ISSUE. NO PROBLEMS TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. FORD MOTOR CO. STATES THIS IS NORMAL.
2015 MUSTANG V-6, 6-SPEED SELECT AUTO, WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR WHEN GAS PEDAL IS DOWN TO FLOOR ON THE FREEWAY AND ENGINE WILL SHUTS OFF.
I AM THE OWNER OF A 2015 MUSTANG GT WITH COOLED SEAT OPTION. WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN NOVEMBER OF 2014 AND TRIED THE COOLED SEATS THEY WORKED WELL DURING THOSE COLD LATE FALL DAYS FOR THE HANDFUL OF TIMES I USED IT. AFTER IT GOT COLD DURING WINTER AND SPRING I DID NOT USE THE COOLED SEAT FEATURE AGAIN UNTIL APPROXIMATELY MAY 1, 2015. AT THIS TIME THE LOWER SEAT COOLER WOULD COOL THE SEAT BUT THE UPPER SEAT COOLER WOULD NOT COOL THE SEAT FOR ANY AMOUNT OF TIME. IN FACT QUITE THE OPPOSITE OCCURRED. WITH THE SEAT COOLING SET TO MAXIMUM OF 3 BARS THE LOWER COOLER WOULD GET THE SEAT COLD BUT THE UPPER SEAT COOLER WOULD ACTUALLY WARM THE SEAT UP. SEVERAL TESTS CONFIRMED THIS HAPPENING FOR BOTH SEATS, DRIVER AND PASSENGER. DUE TO THE DESIGN OF THE THERMOELECTRIC DEVICE BURIED AND ENCLOSED IN THE SEAT BACK, THE BACK SIDE OF EACH SEAT BACK WOULD ACTUALLY WARM AS WELL TO LEVELS VERY HOT TO TOUCH AFTER AS SHORT OF TIME OF 5 MINUTES OF USE. IT APPEARS THAT MANY OTHER 2015 MUSTANG OWNERS WITH THIS OPTION ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUES. ALSO 2015 FORD F150 OWNERS WHO HAVE THE SAME DESIGN TED COOLING DEVICE ARE EXPERIENCING THIS AS WELL. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND REGISTERED MY COMPLAINT BUT NO FIX IS OUT THERE CURRENTLY FROM FORD THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A FAULTY DESIGN. ITS EQUIVALENT WOULD BE PUTTING A ROOM AIR CONDITIONER INSIDE A ROOM AND EXPECTING IT TO COOL THE AIR. ON TOP OF THAT WITH PROLONGED USAGE THE MATERIAL ON THE BACK OF THE SEAT WHERE THE TED VENTS ITS WASTE HEAT GETS HOTTER AND HOTTER AND COULD POSE A FIRE RISK WITH PROLONGED USAGE IN THE VEHICLE. CURRENTLY WE HAVE NO INFORMATION WHETHER OR NOT FORD IS EITHER AWARE OR EVEN HAS ANY INTENTION OF ADDRESSING THIS ISSUE I DO NOT USE MY COOLED SEATS FUNCTION CURRENTLY BECAUSE IT ONLY WORKS ON THE BOTTOMS AND HEATS US THE UPPER SEAT WHILE IN USE. THE UPPER SEAT WILL ACTUALLY BE COOLER IF LEFT OFF.
PURCHASED THE CAR BRAND NEW NOV 2014. THE 1ST OCCURRENCE WAS AROUND MAY OR JUNE OF 2015 ON A CITY STREET AND I WAS SLOWING DOWN WHILE IN 6TH GEAR WITH THE CLUTCH PUSHED IN AND THEN I PULLED THE SHIFTER INTO NEUTRAL. THE RUN ACTIVE POWER CAUGHT MY EYE AND THEN THERE I ALSO SO THE THE RPM WAS ON 0. I QUESTIONED MYSELF ON THIS 1ST INCIDENT THAT MAYBE I DID SOMETHING WRONG. 2ND INCIDENT HAPPENED SOMETIME IN SEPT 2015 AND I WAS ON ANOTHER CITY STREET IN 4TH GEAR GETTING READY TO COME TO A STOP AT A RED LIGHT, WITH THE CLUTCH ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR I PLACED THE SHIFTER IN NEUTRAL AND I HAD A FEELING THAT THE CAR WASN'T ON ANYMORE AND LOOKED AT THE GAUGES AND SAW THAT RUN ACTIVE POWER WAS ON AGAIN AND RPM WAS ON 0. THIS TIME I KIND OF STARTED TO SUSPECT THE CAR. 3RD OCCURRENCE HAPPENED JUNE 11TH 2016 AND I WAS ON A HIGHWAY SLOWING DOWN FROM 55 OR SO AND PUSH IN THE CLUTCH TO NEUTRAL AND WHILE ROLLING IN NEUTRAL AROUND 40 TO 45 MPH I SAW THE RPM GO STRAIGHT TO 0 AND AT THIS POINT IM CONVINCED THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. ALL 3 INCIDENTS I QUICKLY STARTED THE CAR BACK UP WHILE ROLLING. ALSO SINCE I'VE PURCHASED THE CAR I'VE HAD THE DISPLAY RANDOMLY SAY THAT ALL OF MY DRIVE MODES ARE UNAVAILABLE, TRACTION CONTROL UNAVAILABLE, HILL ASSIST UNAVAILABLE, AND A FEW MORE. 1ST TIME I NOTICED THAT WAS WHILE SITTING IN TRAFFIC, AND 2ND TIME WAS ON A RANDOM START UP. TRANSMISSION THUD/CLUNK THAT MOVES THE CAR WHEN GOING FROM NEUTRAL TO 1ST GEAR. HAPPENS WHEN GOING INTO EVERY GEAR UNLESS SHIFTING EXTREMELY SLOW. THE THUD CLUNK CAN BE HEARD AND FELT THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE CAR.
I WAS ON THE INTERSTATE TRAVELING SOUTH WITH CRUISE CONTROL ON. I WENT OVER A BUMP THAT I USUALLY GO OVER WHEN HEADED IN THAT DIRECTION AND THE DRIVER DOOR ALL OF A SUDDEN OPENED/UNLOCKED ITSELF. IT WAS LOCKED OR ELSE THE DASHBOARD WOULD OF INDICATED THAT MY TRANSMISSION WAS NOT IN PARK BEFORE SETTING OFF ON MY TRIP. *TR
WITH ONLY 500+ MILES ON MY CAR TO DATE, I HAVE EXPERIENCED MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHERE MY 2015 MUSTANG GT'S ENGINE SHUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING WHEN I AM APPROACHING A STOP AND DISENGAGE THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION TO COAST TO A STOP. THE CAR DOES NOT GIVE ANY INDICATION THAT IT IS EXPERIENCING ANY ISSUES PRIOR TO OR DURING THE SHUTDOWN. THE ENGINE SIMPLY DIES. THIS LATEST INCIDENT NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE WHEN I WAS APPROACHING THE RED LIGHT I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL WHILE SLOWING DOWN AND THE LIGHT SUBSEQUENTLY CHANGED QUICKLY TO GREEN--AND MY ENGINE DIED. THE CAR BEHIND ME HAD ALREADY ACCELERATED EXPECTING ME TO PROCEED BUT I WAS COASTING WHILE TRYING TO RESTART THE CAR. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NO REAR END IMPACT AND I RESTARTED THE CAR AND PROCEEDED. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND WHAT MAKES IT WORSE IS HOW RANDOM IT IS. FORD NEEDS TO FIGURE THIS OUT QUICK BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS HURT OR KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT RELATED TO THIS ISSUE. FORD HAS FAILED TO MAKE A SPARE WHEEL/TIRE AVAILABLE FOR THE 2015 MUSTANG. IT IS NOT STANDARD ON ALL VEHICLES (A TIRE INFLATION KIT IS ALL IT COMES WITH) AND THE SPARE WHEEL/TIRE IS ON BACK ORDER FOR ALL DEALERSHIPS BECAUSE SUPPLY IS LOW AND PRODUCTION IS BEING PRIORITIZED OVER OWNER AVAILABILITY. THEREFORE, I AM STUCK WITHOUT A SPARE WHEEL/TIRE. I HAVE EVEN TRIED TO PROCURE AN AFTERMARKET SPARE AND 3 DIFFERENT TIRE STORES HAVE TOLD ME THEY DO NOT HAVE A COMPATIBLE SPARE AVAILABLE. FORD IS HANDLING THE AVAILABILITY OF A SPARE WHEEL/TIRE AS A SHORTAGE OF AN "ACCESSORY" AS IF IT IS A FLOOR MAT, RATHER THAN A SAFETY CRITICAL PART AS A SPARE WHEEL/TIRE IS. *TR
INSTRUMENT GAUGES, TACHOMETER / SPEEDOMETER ARE SUBDUE NO LIGHTING DURING DAY LIGHT DRIVING. COMES AND GOES. SAFETY HAZARD DRIVER DIVERSION. ENGINE WILL OVER-SPEED AT 7,500 RPM AND QUIT TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR IN DRIVE. FORD HAS STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS NORMAL. HASN'T ADDRESS THE ENGINE OVER SPEED YET. UPON APPROACHING A RED LIGHT WITH THE CLUTCH PEDAL PRESSED DOWN, AND MANUAL TRANS IN NEUTRAL THE ENGINE DIED. ALSO HAD "RUN POWER ON" ON THE DASH. BUMPED THE START BUTTON AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. DESCRIPTION OF ELECTRICAL ISSUES: TEMPS OUTSIDE WERE MID 80'S. (CAR WAS STILL COLD ENGINE WISE AND I HAD THE A/C ON FULL BLAST WHEN IT DIED.) DASH BOARD INFORMATION/TOUCH SCREEN READOUT SAID IT WAS 70 DEGREES OUTSIDE WHILE TEMPS WERE IN THE MID 80'S. AND AS I WAS DRIVING, (CITY TRAFFIC) I WOULD SHIFT AT OR AROUND 2500 RPM. WHEN I PRESSED IN THE CLUTCH TO SHIFT THE RPM'S WOULD JUMP ABOUT 1000 RPM'S UNTIL I LET THE CLUTCH OUT. THIS OCCURRED ABOUT THREE OR FOUR TIMES OUT OF TEN TO FIFTEEN SHIFTS. ABOUT 3 MILES UP THE ROAD I PULLED OVER, SHUT THE CAR OFF AND OPENED THE DOOR TO TURN OFF THE STEREO AND TOUCH SCREEN. CRANKED IT UP AND RIGHT AWAY THE OUTSIDE TEMP READING WAS THE ACTUAL 85 DEGREES. NO MORE REVS ON SHIFT AND RAN FINE ALL THE WAY HOME FOR THE NEXT 15 MILES. REPORTING THIS DUE TO MULTIPLE ISSUES OF THIS BEING REPORTED BY OTHER 2015 MUSTANG OWNERS ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND MUSTANG RELATED WEBSITES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM AN IDLE POSITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT FROM FIRST GEAR AND STALLED. ALSO, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED TO ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE SHIFTING ISSUE WAS A NORMAL OCCURRENCE AND THAT A DIMMER SWITCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED FOR THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,171. THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR. IT HAPPENED INTERMITTENTLY WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS PUT TO THE FLOOR AND THE ENGINE REVVED. WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS RELEASED THE VEHICLE WOULD SHIFT PROPER;Y. MY CAR SINCE 2015 WHEN I PURCHASE MY VEHICLE HAD A TICKING SOUND FROM THE ENGINE. FORD NEVER OPEN THE ENGINE INDICATING THAT IT WILL COST TO MUCH FOR THEM TO FIX IT. ON TOP OF THIS PROBLEM HAS WORSEN AND AIRBEGS, STABILITY AND OTHER PROBLEMS HAS ARISE NOW AND FORD REFUSES TO FIX THEM.
2015 FORD MUSTANG GT WAS IN AN ACCIDENT, WHERE I REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE FRONT END WAS PUSHED IN ABOUT 3-4 INCHES TO THE POINT WHERE THE DRIVERS DOOR NO LONGER OPENS AND THE HOOD NO LONGER CLOSES, THIS PROMPTED THE KNEE AIRBAGS TO GO OFF, DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG WENT OFF PERFECTLY FINE, HOWEVER DRIVER SIDE DEPLOYED ONLY HALF WAY (MORE LIKE 1/4) WHICH RENDERED IT DEFECTIVE. I EMAILED THE FOLLOWING TO FORD ON 2/9/2015 WITH NO RESPONSE TO DATE FROM THEM HELLO, I DON'T KNOW WHO TO CONTACT OR HOW TO GET MY POINT TO THE RIGHT PERSON, I AM HOPING YOU WILL MAKE SOMEONE TAKE NOTICE. I RENTED A 2015 MUSTANG WHILE ON VACATION IN JANUARY. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY KNEE HIT THE KEYS ( RENTAL CARS ALWAYS HAVE THE EXTRA KEYS AND INFO TAG MAKING IT BULKY ANYWAY ). THE KEYS TURNED THE IGNITION TO ACCESSORY AND THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC AT 70 MPH. AFTER THE NEWS REPORTS OF THE OTHER IGNITION RECALL THAT I HAVE SEEN ON ABC AND MY FIRST RESPONSE TRAINING, I STAYED CALM AND WAS ABLE TO GET THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD WITHOUT INCIDENT. I WOULD JUST LIKE TO MAKE SURE FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS AND SOMETHING IS DONE BEFORE ANYONE GETS HURT. I NOTIFIED THE RENTAL COMPANY OF THE ISSUE. BOUGHT A BRAND NEW FORD 2015 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE ON 1/13/15 IN FLORIDA. CAR WAS DELIVERED WITHOUT PROTECTIVE TONNEAU COVERS/CAPS. WHEN CONVERTIBLE IS IN DOWN POSITION, THERE ARE BIG, HOLES IN TOP OF REAR PANEL EXPOSING THE MECHANICAL ARMS. S APPARENTLY THE OEM OF THESE PARTS COULD NOT MAKE THEM PROPERLY AND IF AN OWNER TRIES TO PUT UP TOP WITHOUT REMOVAL THE WHOLE CONVERTIBLE TOP MECHANISM GETS DESTROYED.RIGHT NOW ALL SORTS OF DIRT AND DEBRIS GETS INTO THESE BIG GAPING HOLES. THESE PARTS ARE LISTED ON PAGE 186 OF THE MANUAL. THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO COME WITH THE CAR. NO INFO FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY OR MY DEALER IS FORTHCOMING ABOUT WHEN I WILL RECEIVE THESE PARTS. DEALER FINALLY HEARD THE ISSUE AND SERVICE MANAGER ACKNOWLEDGED IT SOUNDED FROM THE TRANS, BUT NOW DEALER IS SAYING THE PROBLEM ISN'T OCCURRING. THEY HAVE FAILED TO FOLLOW MY INSTRUCTIONS ON REPRODUCING THE ISSUE. THIS COULD CAUSE A SEVERE TRANSMISSION FAILURE AND LOSS OF CONTROL BUT NO ATTEMPTS TO REMOVE THE TRANS TO INSPECT HAS BEEN DONE. *TR
FIRST OCCURRENCE (MID DECEMBER 2014): I WAS COMING UP TO A RED LIGHT AND THE TURN WAS SLIGHTLY UPHILL. I APPROACH THE LIGHT AND DROP THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL (CLUTCH WAS FULLY ENGAGED CONTINUOUSLY AT THIS POINT) AND WHILE BRAKING, AS I APPROACHED THE RED LIGHT TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN MY CAR'S RPMS JUST DROP COMPLETELY TO 0. IT DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO CATCH IDLE. THIS WAS ABOUT 1.5 MONTHS AGO. I FIGURED THAT IT MIGHT BE SOMETHING WITH THE TUNE I'M RUNNING SO I CALLED UP BAMA AND HAD THEM SEND ME A FRESH TUNE AFTER EXPLAINING WHAT HAD HAPPENED. ALSO, NOT SURE IF THIS HELPS OR IS RELEVANT INFORMATION BUT I HAD BEEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY FOR ABOUT 40 MIN BEFORE THAT AND DID A PULL ON THE HIGHWAY 2 MIN BEFORE THE CAR DIED. SECOND OCCURRENCE (2/25/2015): TODAY WHILE DRIVING TO WORK IN THE MORNING I WAS SWITCHING LANES AND AS I MERGED INTO THE LANE I ENGAGE THE CLUTCH FULLY AND WAS BRAKING TO ADJUST TO THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME AND WAS PREPARING TO DOWNSHIFT INTO GEAR, BUT BEFORE I COULD DOWNSHIFT THE RPMS KEEP DROPPING AND GO PAST NORMAL IDLE AND DROP TO 0 AGAIN WITHOUT EVEN TRYING TO CATCH IDLE AGAIN. SO I QUICKLY START IT BACK UP AGAIN AND IT DROVE FINE AFTER THAT. THIS CAN BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE IF NOT TAKEN SERIOUSLY. MORE AND MORE MUSTANG OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM AND I HAD TO SWITCH DEALERSHIPS BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM REFUSES TO WORK ON MY CAR SINCE IT IS LOWERED. FORD RACING OFFERS LOWERING SPRINGS FOR THE VEHICLE WHICH IS A FORD PART. IF SOMEONE WAS TO HAVE THESE SPRINGS INSTALLED AND THE CAR WAS LOWERED WITH FORD PARTS DOES THAT MEAN THE DEALERSHIP WILL REFUSE TO WORK ON IT IF IT DOESN'T FIT ON THEIR LIFTS THEN AS WELL? I HAVE REPORTED OTHER ISSUES AS WELL WHICH FORD HAS CLAIMED TO BE NORMAL JUST BECAUSE IT IS OCCURRING ON OTHER VEHICLES AS WELL. PURCHASED BRAND NEW FORD MUSTANG GT PREMIUM 5.0 AUTOMATIC FROM LOCAL FORD DEALER. ON FIRST TEST DRIVE, DID NOT NOTICE PROBLEM. CAR SAT A FEW DAYS PRIOR TO ME LEAVING FOR AN APPROXIMATE 750 MILE RETURN DRIVE HOME FROM VA TO TN. I HAD THE CAR HEATER ON - THE HEATER SEATS ON - NO MODIFICATIONS DONE TO THE CAR - 2 DAYS LATER OUT ON ROAD NOTICED A "STRONG ODOR" ( MORE SPECIFICALLY LIKE "MODEL AIRPLANE GLUE ODOR ). I WAS GETTING DIZZY, SLEEPY, AND VERY NAUSEATED. PULLED OVER RESTED. DROVE CAR WITH WINDOWS DOWN, HEATER ON AS IT WAS COLD. ODOR PERSISTED AND "SICK FEELING" CONTINUED ENTIRE DRIVE HOME. COORDINATING WITH FORD SERVICE CENTER AND BBBAUTOLINE - TOOK THE CAR IN FOR SUB TOTAL OF 5 VISITS TO HAVE ODOR EVALUATED. 6TH VISIT WITH "EXPERT FORD" FIELD TECH WITH SOME SORT OF "DEVICE" TO MEASURE SMELLS ( I ASSUME ) - WHEN I WENT TO PICK UP THE CAR - I ASKED FOR WORK ORDER AND A COPY OF EXPERT'S REPORT. WROTE TO SALES MANAGER REQUESTING THESE REPORTS. I HAVE BEEN DENIED ACCESS TO THESE REPORTS (KIND OF ODD? 6TH VISIT AND ONLY NOW THEY REFUSE TO ISSUE?) BBBAUTOLINE HAS NOW MADE DATE FOR ARBITRATION.
