READ ABOUT RECALL OF SIDE DOORS OPENING WHILE DRIVING IN NEWSPAPER 2 MOS AGO AND CALLED FORD. WAS LIED TO AND TOLD MY VEHICLE WAS NOT ONE OF THE ONES BEING RECALLED. TODAY GOT A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD IN THE MAIL. WHY WASN'T I TOLD ABOUT THIS WHEN I CALLED THEM? FORD HAS FAILED TO REMEDY THIS SAFETY RECALL FOR MY VEHICLE IN A TIMELY MANNER. ("FORD PROVIDED THE GENERAL REIMBURSEMENT PLAN FOR THE COST OF REMEDIES PAID FOR BY VEHICLE OWNERS PRIOR TO NOTIFICATION OF A SAFETY RECALL TO THE AGENCY IN "FEBRUARY 2015". THE ENDING DATE FOR REIMBURSEMENT ELIGIBILITY IS OCTOBER 31, 2016.) SO, THEY WAITED 1 1/2 YEARS KNOWING THE PROBLEM BUT IS GIVING PEOPLE ONLY 3 WEEKS FOR REIMBURSEMENT--NOT ACCEPTABLE. THEN, THE PART WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE SECOND QUARTER OF 2017!! (CERTAINLY NOT A TIMELY REMEDY) SO I HAVE TO DRIVE AROUND FOR AT LEAST 9 MONTHS WILL A POTENTIALLY FATAL SAFETY ISSUE. I HAD INITIALLY CALLED FORD BECAUSE I WAS CONTEMPLATING A LONG CAR TRIP, WHICH IS MOSTLY ON HIGHWAYS. A DOOR OPENING ON ITS OWN WHEN ONE IS DRIVING AT 60-70 MPH IS NOT AN OPTION. HAVE HAD TO CANCEL THE TRIP AS FORD WILL NOT GIVE ME A LOANER FOR 9 MONTHS! P.S. THE LETTER INCLUDED A REFERENCE TO GO TO WWW.SAFERCAR.GOV REFERENCE NHTSA SAFETY RECALL 16V-643. I TRIED IT AND YOUR SITE STATED "SORRY, NO RESULTS FOUND FOR NHTSA SAFETY RECALL 16V-643." SOMETHING IS OBVIOUSLY NOT WORKING AT YOUR END.

THE DEALER DID NOT GIVE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND COULD NOT PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED DATE FOR WHEN THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS EXPERIENCING A PROGRESSING FAILURE IN WHICH THE DOORS WOULD SOMETIMES UNLATCH TO OPEN OR CLOSE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
16S30 RECALL - MY DOOR LATCH CLOSED WHILE THE DOOR WAS OPEN WHICH PREVENTED ME FROM CLOSING THE DOOR. AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR OF MESSING WITH THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR LATCH I CALLED A FRIEND TO BRING TOOLS TO HELP. WITH TOOLS I WAS ABLE TO FORCE THE LATCH BACK OPEN SO I COULD DRIVE THE CAR HOME. I HAVE NOT OPENED THE DOOR SINCE BECAUSE I WAS MADE AWARE OF THE RECALL AND THE FACT THAT FORD MO CO HAS NOT PROVIDED A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM! I CANNOT EVEN TRADE IN THE CAR DUE TO THE SAFETY RECALL AND THE VALUE OF MY CAR HAS DECREASED BY $2000.00. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW A MOTOR COMPANY CAN NOT BE LIABLE FOR A SAFETY ISSUE OF SUCH A SERIOUS NATURE AND NOT BE FORCED TO RECALL THE VEHICLES FOR REPAIR OR A BUY BACK. NOW THE AVERAGE AMERICAN CONSUMER IS STUCK WITH THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE REGULATING AGENCIES ARE EITHER WORKING WITH FORD OR OTHERWISE SHOWING LENIENCY IN THIS MATTER RATHER THAN REQUIRING OR MANDATING A SOLUTION BE PROVIDED IMMEDIATELY...
FORD MUSTANG 2015 IS NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE A TRUNK THAT DOES NOT PROTECT INSIDE BECAUSE NO EDGE TO EDGE SUPPORT. MY TRUNK EDGE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE OR WHEN FACING THE TRUNK (LEFT SIDE) IS SO MALALIGNED AS TO MAKE ME THINK EITHER THE CAR IS TWERKED OR THE FRAME IS....THIS CREATES UNSTABLE DRIVING CONDITIONS.FORD REPLACED MY ORIGINAL TRUNK WITH THERE VERSION OF A FITTED TRUNK.

16V643 - NO RESOLUTION POSTED IN OVER 138 DAYS SINCE THE RECALL WAS PUBLISHED, THIS NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED
NHTSA RECALL NUMBER:16V643 RECALL DATE: SEPTEMBER 2, 2016 MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER: 16S30 IT HAS BEEN OVER 6 MONTHS SINCE THIS RECALL WAS PUT IN PLACE AND THERE STILL HASN'T BEEN A REMEDY FOR THIS FAULTY DOOR LATCH. IS SOMEONE GOING TO HAVE TO FALL OUT OF A MOVING CAR AND DIE BEFORE THEY FIX IT?
TAKATA RECALL-A DOOR LATCH WITH A FRACTURED PAWL SPRING TAB TYPICALLY RESULTS IN A "DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE" CONDITION. ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED.
THE RUBBER LIP LOCATED UNDER THE CAR ON THE SPLASH SHIELD CAME UP FLYING LAST NIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 287 TO WICHITA FALLS. COMPLETELY UNANNOUNCED, ON A EMPTY ROAD, WITH NO HAZZARDS.
2015 MUSTANG 2.3 L ECOBOOST, WHEN AT IDEAL FOR MORE THEN 5 - 10 MIN. IT STARTS SMOKING WHITE SMOKE FROM THE TAIL PIPES, THE LONGER IT SITS THE HEAVIER THE SMOKE GETS. STEERING : SOMETIMES WHEN TURNING LEFT THE STEERING WHEEL DOESN'T RETURN TO CENTER, I HAVE TO PULL THE STEERING WHEEL, AS IF IT IS STUCK. TRANSMISSION FEELS LIKE IT SHIFTS HARD SOMETIMES AND SOMETIMES IT DOES NOT. PASSENGER AIRBAG : WHEN SOMEONE IS RIDING WITH ME THE AIRBAG TURNS OFF. DRIVER SIDE SEAT: HAS COOLED SEATS. DOESN'T WORK ALL THE TIME, STATES IT IS ON, BUT NOT FEELING ANYTHING COOL. CONTACTED FORD AND THEY WILL NOT DO MUCH ABOUT IT. EXCEPT TELL ME TO BRING IT TO THE SHOP.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED AND WOULD NOT HOLD WHEN THE VEHICLE IDLED TOO LONG ESPECIALLY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ALLAN VIGIL FORD OF FAYETTEVILLE (275 GLYNN ST N, FAYETTEVILLE, GA 30214, (770) 461-1151) SEVERAL TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS WARMED UP RATHER THAN FROM A COLD START. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.

WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED ON AN INCLINE WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE ROLLED AWAY IN REVERSE INTO A DITCH AND CRASHED INTO A RETAINING WALL. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE CRASH SCENE TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,800.
AIR CONDITIONER POTENTIALLY LEAKING FREON INTO PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. WHILE DRIVING AROUND NOTICED LITE FOG/SMOKE COMING THROUGH AIR VENTS INTO PASSENGER COMPARTMENT (NOT OBSERVED THIS BEFORE AND WINDOWS WERE CLOSED). 20 MINUTES LATER AIR CONDITIONER STARTED BLOWING WARM AIR. LATER THAT WEEK FOUND OUT AIR CONDITIONER EVAPORATOR COIL HAD LEAKED RENDERING THE AIR CONDITIONING UNUSABLE. MILEAGE AT TIME OF OCCURANCE ~12,255 MILES. ALSO NOTICED A LOT OF 2015 MODEL CARS WITH SIMILAR FAILURE MODE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE LOCKS ON THE VEHICLE MALFUNCTIONED AND CAUSED THE DOORS TO LOCK ON THEIR OWN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
WHEN USING DRIVER'S MEMORY FUNCTIONS, DRIVER AND PASSENGER MIRRORS TILT IN ONE DIRECTION TO IT'S LIMITS AND CLICKS MULTIPLE TIMES. DOES NOT GO BACK TO PRESET SETTING UNLESS THE MEMORY BUTTON IS PRESSED ANOTHER TIME.
ON A MONDAY MORNING, I GET IN MY CAR TO GO TO WORK AND THE VEHICLE'S WARNING SENSORS START TO GO OFF INDICATING THAT MY LEFT REAR TIRE HAS ONLY 15 PSI. NOW, ONLY THE NIGHT BEFORE, I WAS DRIVING AROUND WITH NO PROBLEMS ON MY TIRES SO THIS LEADS ME TO BELIEVE I MUST HAVE PICKED UP SOMETHING ON MY WAY HOME LIKE A NAIL OR A SCREW. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE NEAREST TIRE SHOP AND WHEN THEY INSPECTED THE TIRE THEY INDICATED THERE WAS A BULGE IN THE INNER EXTERIOR OF THE TIRE. WHEN I ASKED THEM WHAT THAT MEANT THEY INFORMED ME THAT A BULGE USUALLY CREATED WHEN DRIVING THROUGH A POTHOLE. I WAS INDICATED THAT IT MUST HAVE BEEN A SIGNIFICANT POTHOLE TO CREATE SUCH A CONDITION ON A FAIRLY NEW TIRE BUT THE PROBLEM IS THAT I NEVER RAN OVER A POTHOLE. THE WHEELS DO NOT HAVE ANY BENDS OR SCRATCHES INDICATING IT WENT THROUGH A POTHOLE THE SIZE OF WHICH NEEDED TO BE SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH TO CAUSE THE DAMAGE. THIS IS A NEW VEHICLE WITH ONLY 4,800 MILES AND FACTORY TIRES. BECAUSE THE BULGE IS AT THE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE, THE ONLY COURSE OF CORRECTIVE ACTION IS THE REPLACE THE TIRE.
CAR WOULD IDLE THEN CUT OFF DURING STATIONARY, ENGINE WOULD CUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION ON HIGHWAY OR CITY STREET TURNING AND NOT TURNING. CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OR MOVE WHEN PRESSING GAS. HEATED SEAT CAUGHT ON FIRE. STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS STOPPED WORKING. NEW BATTERY WOULD DIE THEN BE FINE, CAR HAVE PROBLEMS AFTER FILLING WITH GAS WOULD NOT START, BLACK AND WHITE SMOKE CAME OUT OF THE EXAUST AND DISPLAYED LOW FUEL WHEN IT HAD A FULL TANK. CAR RESTRICTED ME FROM DRIVING PAST 80. POWER TRAIN ISSUES , AUXILIARY EMISSION CONTROL FAILED, COMPUTER OUTPUT CIRCUIT FAILED.
UNDERCARRIAGE OF VEHICLE GETTING VERY HOT. YOU CAN FEEL HEAT COMING UP OFF THE FLOOR BOARDS IN THE VEHICLE. IF YOU PLACE A PURSE ON THE FLOOR GETS HOT ON THE BOTTOM OF PURSE CAN FEEL HEAT ON YOUR FEET ALSO BOTTOM OF SHOES GET HOT. EVERY SINCE I BOUGHT THE CARE. I TOLD FORD ABOUT IT AND THE DEALER SHIP AND GOT THE RESPONSE THAT MY VEHICLE AND WAS NOT ONE OF THE ONES LISTED IN THE VOLUNTARY RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. HOWEVER SINCE I NOTICED THE PROBLEM AND IT CAUSED ME TO LOOK IT UP AND I FOUND THE FOLLOWING: THERE HAS BEEN A VOLUNTARY RECALL ONLY TO PLACE NEW FUEL TANK SHIELD , NEW THERMAL WRAPPING IN THE FUEL VAPOR LINES AND NEW THERMAL WRAPPING ON THE PARKING BRAKE CABLE. THE DEALERSHIP RESPONSE WAS STILL THE SAME. I FEEL AS A CUSTOMER I SHOULD BE RIGHT AND THEY SHOULD TO THE RECALL REPLACEMENTS. IF I DID NOT FEEL THE HEAT COMING OFF OF THE FLOOR BOARDS I WOULD NOT HAVE KNOWN THERE WAS A VOLUNTARY RECALL FOR IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
MY ENGINE HAS RANDOMLY SHUT OFF THREE SEPARATE TIMES NOW. I HAVE ABOUT 12,000 MILES ON MT 2015 MUSTANG GT W/PP MANUAL TRANSMISSION. THE FIRST TIME I WAS PARKED AND IT WAS IDLING, MY FRIEND AND I BOTH WITNESSED THE IDLE DIP, THEN 3-5 SECONDS LATER THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. THE SECOND TIME (WAS MUCH MORE DANGEROUS) I WAS CHANGING LANES BECAUSE OF A CAR FAST APPROACHING FROM BEHIND, I DOWNSHIFTED FROM 3RD TO 2ND GEAR (30-40MPH), LET OUT THE CLUTCH SMOOTHLY, PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR DID NOTHING, I LOOKED DOWN AND THE RPM WAS AT 0 AND "PRESS CLUTCH TO START" WAS DISPLAYED ON THE GAUGE CLUSTER SCREEN. I QUICKLY DEPRESSED CLUTCH AND RESTARTED ENGINE AND TOOK OFF TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. THE THIRD TIME HAPPENED TODAY 3/15/2016 I WAS AGAIN AT IDLE AND THE ENGINE JUST SHUT DOWN WITHOUT ME TOUCHING ANYTHING, IT AGAIN DISPLAYED "PRESS CLUTCH TO START". I'VE READ IN FORUMS THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE INTERMITTENTLY, THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT CAN HAVE DEADLY CONSEQUENCES. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS ISSUE CORRECTLY RATHER THAN SENDING EVERYONE HOME WITH THE "WE DIDN'T FIND ANY ISSUE" GO-TO RESPONSE. HOPEFULLY PEOPLE DON'T HAVE TO GET INJURED, OR GOD FORBID DIE, BEFORE THIS ISSUE IS TAKEN SERIOUSLY.
BREMBO BRAKE KIT SQUEALS WHEN DRIVING AT SLOW SPEED COMING TO A STOP. MY CAR AS 13K MILES ON IT
FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS. WHEN I GO TO WORK. EVERYTHING IS FINE. WHEN I LEAVE WORK. I BACK THE CAR UP ABOUT 15-30 FEET. THEN PULL OUT OF THE PARKING LOT. WHEN I PULL OUT. AS I PRESS THE GAS & START GOING FASTER. THE CAR STALLS, JERKS AS IF THE BREAKS ARE PUSHED, THEN STARTS DRIVING AS NORMAL AGAIN. IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. BUT MY FORD PLACE SAYS IT HAS TO DO IT WITH THEM DRIVING FOR THEM TO KNOW WHAT TO DO OR WHAT THE ISSUE IS. THEN THIS PAST WEEK. THE SAME THING HAPPENED. BUT IT HAPPENED FOR A LONGER TIME AND THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT BRINKED THE WHOLE TIME I WAS TRYING TO ACCELERATE. SO A FRIEND AT A FORD BODY SHOP TOLD ME IT WAS PROBABLY MY ABS SENSOR. ALSO THE HOOD OF MY CAR STARTED TO LOOSE PAINT FOR NO REASON. NO RUST. IT'S JUST FLAKING OFF. THE FLACKING STARTED NEAR THE HEADLIGHT UNDERNEATH THE TOP OF THE HOOD. & IS SLOWLY COMING TOWARDS THE TOP OF THE HOOD. MY 36,000 MILE WARRANTY JUST EXPIRED RIGHT AFTER I NOTICED THE ISSUE. AND THEY WOULDN'T COVER IT. I DON'T THINK THAT'S RIGHT!
AT ABOUT 2000 MILES I NOTICED THE STEERING TENDING TO PULL TO THE LEFT PREVENTING THE CAR FROM GOING STRAIGHT DOWN THE ROAD. IT APPEARS TO HAPPEN ON ANY ROAD SURFACE AND WAS INTERMITTENT. THE DEALERSHIP SUGGESTED THE MUSTANGS STEERING IS VERY SENSITIVE AND WAS RESPONDING TO ROAD CONDITIONS. THEY DEFLATED THE TIRES AS WELL AS CONDUCTING A DIAGNOSTIC. AS TIME PASSED THE CONDITION WORSENED AND DEVELOPED TO THE RIGHT AS WELL AS THE LEFT. IN ADDITION THE CAR DEVELOPED A CLUNK NOISE WHEN THE WHEELS WERE TURNED HARD LEFT OR RIGHT, ALSO INTERMITTENT. MY DEALER CHECKED IT OUT, SAW THE PULLING TO THE RIGHT AS THE TECHNICIAN ROAD WITH ME, AND COMPLETED AN ALIGNMENT. THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE ISSUE BUT I EXPERIENCED IT AS I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT FOLLOWING THEIR "REPAIR." IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN AND REQUIRES CONSISTENT ATTENTION TO ENSURE THAT WHEN THE STEERING GOES AWRY IT CAN BE CORRECTED. THE LAST REPAIR WAS 12/2 AND 12/3 AND THE CAR CONTINUES TO MANIFEST THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP INSISTS THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE THAT THEY CAN DETERMINE. I INTEND TO CALL THE FORD COMPANY.
WHEN THE CAR IS STILL SILENT FOR SEVERAL MINUTES IT RUN OUT OF BREAKS AND THE SOUND WHEN BRAKING IS DRY AND IT SEEM TO SHAVE. THE RECOMMENDATION ON THE FORD DEALER WAS NOT MUCH USE OF THE BREAKS, IN MY IMPRESSION THIS IS WAS COMPLETELY IRRESPONSIBLE

THE PART NUMBER WAS FR3Z-3504-A, KIT - STEERING. I WOULD HATE TO THINK ABOUT WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF I HAD BEEN ON A BUSY ROAD OR INTERSTATE WHEN THIS OCCURRED.
THE ABOVE VEHICLE IS A 2015 FORD MUSTANG ECO-BOOST CONVERTIBLE. IT IS EQUIPPED WITH ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL. WHEN A VEHICLE IN FRONT SLOWS BELOW A SET SPEED OR A VEHICLE CUTS THE CAR OFF THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SLOWS THE CAR DOWN, OR STOPS IT, TO KEEP A PREDETERMINED DISTANCE. ACCORDING TO FORD THE SLOWING IS DONE BY THE ENGINE AND NOT THE BRAKES. ONCE THE VEHICLE SLOWS, AND IT IS SAFE, IT BEGINS TO ACCELERATE BACK TO THE SET CRUISE CONTROL SPEED. THE SLOWING, NOT BEING DONE BY THE BRAKING SYSTEM, DOES NOT ACTIVATE THE BRAKE LIGHTS. ONLY WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS STEPPED ON WILL THE BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WHICH ALSO WOULD DISENGAGE THE CRUISE CONTROL. WE HAVE HAD A COUPLE OF INCIDENTS IN WHICH THE VEHICLE BEHIND DOES NOT SEE THE CAR SLOWING, BY BRAKE LIGHTS, AND CLOSES AT A RAPID SPEED ON THE REAR OF THE CAR. LOOKING AT A DODGE RAM CLOSING, NOT KNOWING IT'S GOING TO STOP, CAN BE A BIT UNNERVING. I HAVE RECENTLY READ THAT THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING MAY BE INSTALLED ON FUTURE VEHICLES AS A STANDARD OPTION. I CAN'T IMAGINE THAT KEEPING A VEHICLE FROM CRASHING INTO A FORWARD MOVING VEHICLE IS ANY MORE OR LESS IMPORTANT THEN BEING STRUCK IN THE REAR BECAUSE BRAKE LIGHTS DON'T COME ON. I AM CERTAINLY MORE CAUTIOUS DRIVING THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ON BECAUSE OF THIS SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE TALKED TO FORD "CUSTOMER RELATIONS DEPT" WHO WEREN'T SURE HOW TO FOLLOW THIS UP BUT TO SENT IT UP THE LADDER. THE PUSH BUTTON IGNITION SWITCH IS LOCATED DIRECTLY UNDER THE RADIO CONTROL BUTTONS. THE IGNITION BUTTON WILL SHUT THE CAR OFF WHILE IN GEAR AND IN MOTION. THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS IN A PARKING LOT, GOING ABOUT 5 MPH. MY HUSBAND ACCIDENTLY PUSHED THE IGNITION BUTTON INSTEAD OF THE RADIO CONTROL BUTTON AND SHUT THE CAR OFF. FORD HAS NO SOLUTION TO THIS HAZARDOUS DESIGN FLAW, AND TOLD ME THEY CAN'T RE-ENGINEER THE VEHICLE TO ELIMINATE THE RISK OF A SERIOUS ACCIDENT.

AFTER PULLING OVER AND TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF FOR ABOUT 3 MINUTES, I CRANKED THE VEHICLE BACK ON TESTED THE BRAKES BEFORE I CONTINUED AND THEY FELT NORMAL, THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS 115. TWO DAYS LATER, AS I AM PULLING UP INTO MY DESIGNATED PARKING STALL OF MY WORK. BRAKE PEDAL BECAME HARD AND NONEXISTENT, PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND HAD TO USE THE HAND BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. I PARKED THE VEHICLE AND SET UP AN APPOINTMENT WITH MY PURCHASING DEALER THAT SAME DAY. AT THE END OF MY WORKING DAY, I TURNED OVER MY VEHICLE AND TESTED THE BRAKES BEFORE LEAVING THE OFFICE, JUST TO MAKE I HAD BRAKES. AND JUST LIKE LAST TIME BRAKES WERE NORMAL. I DROPPED OFF MY VEHICLE ON THURSDAY AT 5:15 PM, TODAY IS MONDAY AND THEY ARE STILL WORKING ON THE PROBLEM.THE SERVICE ADVISOR, WHO IS WORKING ON MY CASE IS GIVING ME A PROJECTED RESPONSE DAY OF WEDNESDAY. THAT WOULD MEAN, THAT MY VEHICLE WOULD BE IN AT THE REPAIR FACILITY FOR A ABOUT 4 WORKING DAYS. THE PROBLEM THAT HE IS FORESEEING IS THAT THEY ARE HAVING DIFFICULTY REPLICATING THE ISSUE. ON JULY 4TH, MY 2015 FORD MUSTANG, HAD A BREAK PEDAL ISSUE, THE PEDAL WOULD LOCK AND WOULD NOT ALLOW VEHICLE TO STOP. THE FIST TIME HAPPEN TO ME WILE DRIVING 55 MPH AND I WAS LUCKY BECAUSE IT WAS EARLY IN THE MORNING ON A NOT BUY AVENUE SO I WAS ABLE TO TOP THE CAR WITH THE HAND BREAK. HOWEVER, IN THE PROCESS I WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP AT A RED LIGHT. THE TOW THE VEHICLE WITH 882 MILES AND RETURNED TO ME WITH 882 MILES. SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE I HAD PURCHASE THE RENTAL CAR OPTION AND THE CAR WAS NOT PROVIDED TO ME UNTIL THE DAY AFTER THE INCIDENT. IN ADDITION, THEY ONLY CONDUCTED A VISUAL POINT INSPECTION AND REPROGRAMMED THE PCM. I SPOKE TO MY CASE MANAGER AT FORD AND THEY GUARANTEE THAT THEY HAD RESOLVE THE PROBLEM AND THAT IT WOULD NOT HAPPEN. UNFORTUNATELY ON AUGUST 1ST ONLY A MONTH LATER AND AT AROUND 1500 MILES, THE BREAK PEDAL LOCKED AND THIS TIME I WAS INVOLVE IN AN ACCIDENT. ALTHOUGH I WAS DRIVING ONLY 35 MPH, MY VEHICLE SUFFER SEVER DAMAGES. I TOW THE VEHICLE TO FORD AND EXPECTED A RENTAL CAR, BUT THEY TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE RENTAL, WHICH IS STUPID BECAUSE MY EXTENDED WARRANTY SHOULD COVER THE EXPENSES OF THE RENTAL. I FEEL LUCKY THAT I HAD THE ACCIDENT AT A LOW SPEED AND I DIDN'T HAVE ANY INJURY TO MY SELF. HOWEVER IF IT WOULD BEEN AT A HIGHWAY SPEED I COULD BE DEATH AND POSSIBLE MANY OTHER, DUE TO AN ISSUE THAT I HAD PRESENTED TO FORD A MONTH IN ADVANCE. I HATE FORD, I AM SCARE TO DRIVE, AND EVERY TIME I HEAR A HONK I PANIC. TODAY IS A WEEK SINCE THE ACCIDENT AND DEALERSHIP HAS NOT EVEN LOOK AT THE CAR SINCE THEY ARE STILL WAITING ON FORD INSTRUCTIONS. THE DEALERSHIP EXCUSE IS THAT THEY NEED TO DRIVE THE CAR TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE, HOWEVER THE WHEEL AND TIRE AND THE ARM THAT HELP TO GIVE THE DIRECTION OF THE CAR IS DAMAGE AND DOES NOT ALLOW THEM TO DRIVE IT. I SPOKE TO SOMEONE IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT; THEY KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THE RECALL; PUT ME ON HOLD; SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO CALL ME BACK. MY FATHER OWNES A MOBILE ELECTRONICS SHOP AND HAS SEEN LOTS OF DIFFERENT ISSUES ON MANY VEHICLES WHERE THE CPU'S IN THE VEHICLE HAS ISSUES AND CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO ACT IN MANY FAULTY WAYS. SOME WITH CODES, OTHERS WITHOUT. IT APPEARS TO ME THAT ONE OR MORE OF THE CPU'S IN MY VEHICLE HAVE A DEFECT CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO ACT THIS WAY. AIR BAG DEFECT SINCE NEW VEHICLE DELIVERY. I TOOK DELIVERY OF THIS VEHICLE ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO AND IMMEDIATELY LEFT WITH IT ON VACATION. WHEN DRIVING OFF THE DEALER LOT I NOTICED THAT THE AIR BAG LIGHT IN THE DASH WAS ON. BUT THOUGHT THIS TO BE NORMAL AS THAT IS HOW THE DEALER DELIVERED IT TO ME AND THAT I AM USED TO GM VEHICLES WHERE THE AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON UNDER PROPER CONDITIONS. TODAY WHILE AT THE DEALERS BODY SHOP FOR MINOR PAINT REPAIR I WAS TOLD TO IMMEDIATELY TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THEIR MECHANICAL SHOP AS THE LIGHT ON A FORD INDICATES THE SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING. THE DEALER WAS ACCOMMODATING AND IN SHORT ORDER DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM TO BE A DEFECTIVE DRIVERS SIDE AIR BAG. THEY THEN TOOK THE PART OUT OF A SIMILAR NEW CAR IN STOCK AND REPLACED MINE. THE PROBLEM WAS NOT SOLVED. I AM NOW DRIVING A LOANER VEHICLE AND BEING TOLD THAT A CLOCK SPRING IS ON ORDER.
VEHICLE EVENT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. WHILE ADJUSTING THE AIR TEMP WITH MY RIGHT HAND, MY PINKY TOUCHED THE START STOP BUTTON CAUSING THE VEHICLE ENGINE TO SHUT DOWN. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND DISCOVERED THAT MY CAR WOULD SHUT DOWN IN DRIVE BY JUST TOUCHING THE START STOP BUTTON. THE ONLY WAY TO RESTART THE ENGINE IS TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. IT WAS SAFE FOR ME, ALTHOUGH I WAS IN A LINE OF TRAFFIC, BECAUSE I WAS ON A TWO LANE ROAD WITH SHOULDER ROOM AVAILABLE. THE SEAT DID NOT RETURN TO THE EXIT POSITION. I AM VERY CAREFUL NOW WHEN MAKING ANY ADJUSTMENTS TO THE CONTROLS CLUSTER BECAUSE OF THE CLOSENESS OF THE START STOP BUTTON TO THE OTHER CONTROLS. THE SWITCH ALSO OPERATES WITH VERY LIGHT PRESSURE AND ITS SURFACE IS CONVEX. I DO NOT LET ANYONE ELSE DRIVE THIS VEHICLE IN ITS CURRENT CONDITION.
WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD ONLY A MILE FROM MY HOUSE. SLOWED DOWN FOR A RED LIGHT AND THE ENGINE STALLED OUT. I HAD TO PULL OVER TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE STARTED BACK UP FINE. I THOUGHT MAYBE I STALLED IT SINCE THERE WAS NO CEL AND IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP. HOWEVER THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED 3 DAYS LATER, THE SAME DISTANCE FROM MY HOUSE. THIS TIME I KNEW I DID NOT STALL IT. IT IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW. THEY EXPLAINED THEY WOULD HAVE GREAT DIFFICULTY REPLICATING THE ISSUE SINCE IT DIDN'T THROW ANY CODES. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR A BRAND NEW CAR WITH ONLY 10,000 MILES.
RENTAL CAR, I WAS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC GOING INTO THE LINCOLN TUNNEL WHEN THE BRAKE PEDDLE DID NT WORK PROPERLY. THE PEDDLE WENT DOWN ALMOST TO THE FLOOR. WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE PEDDLE PULSATED AND NEEDED A LOT OF PRESSURE TO STOP THE CAR. THE BRAKES STARTED TO WORK AGAIN AFTER ABOUT 10 MINUTES. THIS INCIDENT WAS SCARY AND COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I REPORTED THE INCIDENT TO ENTERPRISE CAR RENTAL.
