LOST POWER IN INSANELY BUSY IRVING/DALLAS INTERSECTION NEAR MAJOR HIGHWAY - COULD HAVE BEEN A HUGE ACCIDENT! 5400 PLUS MILES. FORD 2016 MUSTANG, V6 FROM A STANDING POSITION, SECOND CAR IN LINE AT RED LIGHT. LIGHT CHANGES, TRAFFIC STARTS TO MOVE, I STEPPED ON GAS AND NOTHING! HAD TO CREEP ACROSS TWO LANES OF BUSY TRAFFIC AND LIMP UP ONTO A SIDEWALK AS THAT THERE WAS NO BREAKDOWN SHOULDER. THAN GOD THE CURB WAS ABOUT 2 TO 3 INCHES HIGH. WRENCH ICON ON DASH: "SEE MANUAL". TURNED ENGINE OFF AND BACK ON - RPMS SURGED TO THE RED AND THEN DROPPED TO BELOW 1000. TRIED THE OFF/ON THING ABOUT 3 TIMES - SAME RESULTS. ENGINE WAS CHUGGING, MISSING, EVEN EXHAUST WAS CHUGGING LIKE SOME OLD JALOPY! CHECKED THE ELECTRONIC GAUGE READINGS - EVERYTHING WAS NORMAL EXCEPT THE VACUUM PRESSURE - IT WAS BETWEEN 5 AND 0! AFTER SEVERAL CALLS TO DEALERSHIP, FORD ROADSIDE ASSIST AND TOW COMPANY; TURNED CAR OFF AGAIN - 30 SECONDS TO A MINUTE LATER, RESTARTED IT - AND IT WAS RUNNING PERFECT - ENGINE LIGHT HOWEVER WAS ON. VACUUM LEVEL WAS RUNNING BETWEEN 17 AND 20. TOWED TO DEALERSHIP; IT'S A WEEK NOW AND I HAVE JUST LEARNED FROM THEM THAT IT'S THE THROTTLE BODY. WAS TOLD THAT "FORD HAD A BAD BATCH OF THESE" ON THIS ENGINE SIZE (V6). THE PART IS ON BACK ORDER. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE REP STATED IT'S TAKEN AS LONG AS A "COUPLE OF MONTHS" BUT FORD IS GETTING FASTER AT GETTING THE PART OUT, SO IT COULD BE A WEEK TO TWO WEEKS TO GET IT IN. I HAVE SEEN REPORTS OF THIS SAME ISSUE ON CARCOMPLAINTS.COM FOR EXPLORERS - FROM JUN 5TH 2016 - STATING THAT FORD HAD 7000 THROTTLE BODIES ON BACK ORDER! THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION WITH THESE THINGS LOSING POWER LIKE THIS ON HIGHWAYS AND IN MAJOR TRAFFIC. FORD NEEDS TO ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS THROTTLE BODY!
PURCHASED THIS CAR BRAND NEW & THE AIR CONDITIONING QUIT WORKING THE FIRST SUMMER I OWNED IT. WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, TOOK CAR TO FAMILY FORD AND THEY PUT FREON IN IT BUT IT LEAKED OUT, THEY REPLACED THE COMPRESSOR, PROBLEM PERSISTED. NEXT FOUND THAT THE COMPRESSOR WAS IMPROPERLY INSTALLED & THAT WAS REPAIRED. NOW WARRANTY IS EXPIRED & DEALER DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS THE COMPRESSOR & TOLD ME TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE REPAIRS. CAR HAS 16,000 MILES, GARAGE KEPT, AND HAS NEVER HAD WORKING AC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, A LOUD ABNORMAL NOISE EMITTED FROM THE ENGINE AND THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,800.
6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION; CLUNKS, GRINDS AND DIFFICULT TO ENGAGE IN 1ST-4TH GEARS, HAPPENS UNDER ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS. MANUFACTURER REFUSES TO ADDRESS UNDERLYING CAUSE.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that the rearview camera would function properly on the initial first use however, other attempts to use the rearview camera throughout the day would be unsuccessful. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the camera needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100.
SINCE I HAVE PURCHASED THE CAR WITH 300 MILES I HAD TO TAKE THE VEHICLE IN BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WAS AT TIMES, HARD TO SHIFT, WOULD GRIND A GEAR. LOCKED ME OUT OF A GEAR, AND IN GENERAL CAN SHAKE AND PRODUCE LOUD THUMPING NOISES WHEN ENGAGING GEARS WHILE SITTING AT A STANDSTILL OR EVEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I WAS TOLD AT THE TIME THAT THIS WAS NORMAL BEHAVIOR. I HAD TEST DROVE MORE THAN ONE CAR BEFORE PURCHASING THIS ONE. NONE OF THE OTHERS BEHAVED THIS WAY. I HAVE DONE MORE RESEARCH AND DISCOVERED THAT THIS IS A VERY INTERMITTENT ISSUE BETWEEN BUILDS OF THE TRANSMISSION. I TOOK IT IN AGAIN FOR SERVICE. THEY HAD REMOVED THE TRANSMISSION AND SERVICED SOME PARTS. UPON GETTING THE CAR BACK IT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY WENT BACK TO DOING THE SAME THING. THIS IS NOT A BIG SAFETY CONCERN, BUT COULD CAUSE BIGGER AND MORE EXPENSIVE ISSUES DOWN THE ROAD DEPENDING ON WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS ONE OF FOUR COMPLAINTS I HAVE WITH THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE THAT HAVE NOT BEEN RESOLVED.
STEERING WHEEL AIR BAG LIGHT ON AND APPARENTLY NO REPLACEMENT BAGS AVAILABLE
MY NEW 2016 MUSTANG V6 HAS SEVERE VIBRATION WHILE DRIVING AT MOST SPEEDS. THE DEALER SERVICE DEPT. DETERMINED THE PROBLEM WAS A FAULTY DRIVE SHAFT AND REPLACED IT TWICE AND INDEXED THE SECOND ONE AFTER INSTALLATION. THE CAR STILL VIBRATES. THE TIRES WERE ROAD FORCED BALANCED AND ROTATED AND THE VIBRATION IS STILL HAPPENING. THIS LEADS ME AND OTHER PROFESSIONALS TO CONCLUDE THAT THERE MAY BE OTHER MALFUNCTIONING PARTS OR A POSSIBLE DESIGN FLAW IN THE DRIVE LINE WHICH I BELIEVE FORD MOTOR COMPANY KNOWS ABOUT. THE VIBRATION IS FELT THROUGH THE CAR AND THE REAR MIRROR IMAGE IS BLURRED WHILE DRIVING. A FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE REP. HAS TOLD ME THIS VIBRATION IS "NORMAL" AND "NO REPAIR IS NEEDED". THEY REFUSE TO INVESTIGATE THE CAUSE FURTHER OR FIX THIS DEFECT. I WONDER, IF IT IS NORMAL WHY DID THEY TRY TO FIX IT TWICE. IT APPEARS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS OR IF THEY WERE DESIGNED SO A VIBRATION CAN SHAKE YOUR BODY WHILE DRIVING, AS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP IS IMPLYING, THEN THE CONSUMER SHOULD BE MADE AWARE OR NOTIFIED OF THIS VIBRATION CHARACTERISTIC BEFORE PURCHASING. NOTE, THAT WHILE THE SERVICE DEPT. WAS ATTEMPTING TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM THE SHOP FOREMAN TOLD ME HE DROVE FOUR NEW CARS FROM THEIR STOCK AND FOUND 3 OF THEM TO HAVE THIS VIBRATION DEFECT. NOW IN MY VEHICLE IT APPEARS THAT THE VIBRATION IS CAUSING THE REAR AXLE DIFFERENTIAL SEAL TO START LEAKING. I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST THAT A INVESTIGATION BE STARTED INTO THIS MATTER TO DETERMINE THE EXTENT OR NUMBER OF VEHICLES THAT ARE EXPERIENCING THIS SENSATION. REGARDLESS FORD MOTOR COMPANY SHOULD BE MADE TO FIX THESE DEFECT ON ALL VEHICLES AFFECTED OR REFUND THE CONSUMERS THE PURCHASED PRICE OF THE VEHICLE IF THEY CANNOT FIX IT.
I WAS INVOLVED IN AN INCIDENT WHERE A DEER JUMPED OUT IN FRONT OF ME. I SWERVED AND MY CAR WENT THROUGH A BRICK MAILBOX. MY AIRBAGS TOOK A WHILE TO COME OUT, BUT WHEN THEY DID I WAS BURNED AND BLISTERED.
TEMPORARY LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE DUE TO SHAKING, POPPING, VIBRATION AND LOUD NOISE FROM STEERING ASSEMBLY, CAR WHEELS AND STEERING WHEEL WHEN INITIATING INITIAL MOVEMENT OF VEHICLE FROM A COLD CONDITION (STARTUP FROM A COLD/PARKED STATE). THIS HAS HAPPENED REPEATEDLY ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS IN THE FOUR MONTHS THAT I HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD MUSTANG. WHENEVER THE CONTACT SHIFTED GEARS, A PINGING METAL SOUND WAS HEARD. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE TOWN AND COUNTRY FORD DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVE SHAFT AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,000. ..UPDATED 07/31/17 *BF *CN
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN DECEMBER 2015. I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE MAIL FROM FORD SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE TELLING ME ABOUT THE DEFECTIVE AIR BAGS. I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ADVISED AT PURCHASE OF THIS DEFECT. I HAVE WAITED PATIENTLY FOR OVER TWO YEARS FOR A NOTICE TO TAKE MY CAR IN TO REPLACE THE AIR BAGS. I ASK AT EACH SERVICE AT THE DEALER AND RECEIVE THE SAME ANSWER: I MUST WAIT UNTIL FORD CONTACTS ME. THIS CAR IS MY WIFE'S PRIMARY WORK VEHICLE. I AM GUESSING THAT FORD WILL NEVER MAKE GOOD ON THEIR PROMISE TO REPLACE THESE DEFECTIVE AIR BAGS.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V319000 (AIR BAGS). THE PART TO DO THE RECALL REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
