TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE STARTING THE VEHICLE WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER ON, VAPORS ENTERED THE CABIN OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO (FAIRWAY FORD, 2323 LAURENS ROAD, GREENVILLE, SC 29607) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE EVAPORATOR COIL FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 35,600.
CAR IN MOTION; ON 10/09/2017 - I WAS DRIVING 80 MPH (WHICH IS THE LEGAL SPEED LIMIT), ON MAJOR TEXAS HIGHWAY 130 TOLL ROAD, ENGINE STALLED, CAR HARD TO CONTROL, DIFFICULT TO PULL OFF THE ROAD TO SAFETY. ATTEMPTED TO RESTART CAR SEVERAL TIMES, AFTER 7 OR 8 TIMES IT FINALLY STARTED. IT HAD A ROUGH IDLE, AND CONTINUED TO STALL OUT 6 MORE TIMES FOR THE REMAINING 30 MILES UNTIL I REACHED MY HOME. THERE ARE NO STORES, OR SAFE PLACES TO PULL OFF OF THE ROAD ON THIS TOLL ROAD, AND IT IS A VERY LONG STRETCH OF HIGHWAY TO BE LEFT STRANDED ON. I'VE CONTACTED FORD SERVICE AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO, MY CAR IS A 2016 MUSTANG WHICH I BOUGHT BRAND NEW...
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, CARBON MONOXIDE ENTERED THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE AIR CONDITIONING VENTS, WHICH CAUSED THE CONTACT TO HAVE HEADACHES AND NAUSEA. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS NOT REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE FRIENDLY FORD OF CROSBY DEALER LOCATED AT 2425 US-90, CROSBY, TX 77532; (800) 568-9561 WHERE THE GAS KIT WAS REFILLED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ODOR WAS GETTING WORSE EVERY DAY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 800-568-9561 AND WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND A CASE NUMBER 12966085 WAS PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,835.
HAVE HAD ISSUES THAT THE CAR DRIFTS TO THE RIGHT ACROSS LANES UNDER ANY AMOUNTS OF ACCELERATION OR SPEEDS. ONE TIRE HAD GONE COMPLETELY WARN OVER THE COURSE OF SEVERAL MONTHS WHILE THE PROBLEM WAS MOST NOTICEABLE. AFTER NEW TIRES WERE PUT ON THE PROBLEM SWITCHED ITSELF TO STEERING TO THE LEFT INSTEAD. THE SUSPENSION AND STEERING COMPONENTS WERE INSPECTED AS WELL AS TIRE ALIGNMENT. NO MECHANICAL ISSUES HAVE BEEN FOUND. TO JUSTIFY THE CARS BEHAVIOR I WAS INSTEAD FALSELY ACCUSED OF MISHANDLING THE CAR ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS AND PROVIDED PAPERWORK THAT CLAIMED IT WAS NORMAL FOR FORDS WITH ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING (EPAS/PDC) TO DRIFT AROUND THE ROAD ON THEIR OWN AND THAT IT WAS NOT A SAFETY CONCERN. THIS IS ONE OF FOUR COMPLAINTS WITH THIS CAR THAT HAVE NOT BEEN RESOLVED.
THIS CAR WAS NEVER WRECKED AND HAD APPROXIMATELY 7,000 MILES ON IT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, THE PASSENGER DOOR DISLODGED AND CAME HALFWAY OPEN. WITHIN 5 MILES, THE DRIVERS DOOR DID THE SAME EXACT THING.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2016 MUSTANG GT BASE MODEL DOWN A STRAIGHT ROAD WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL "ON" AND THE CAR RANDOMLY LOCKED ALL OF THE WHEELS AND TURNED SIDEWAYS INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND ONLY STOPPING WHEN I HIT A CURB. WHILE SLIDING THERE WAS NO THROTTLE OR BRAKE CONTROL BECAUSE THE TRACTION SYSTEM LOCKED ALL FOUR WHEELS. I WENT TO THE FORD DEALER PREVIOUS TO THIS INSTANCE TO COMPLAIN THAT THE FRONT SUSPENSION WAS NOISY AND THE VEHICLE WAS HARD TO CONTROL ON CERTAIN ROAD SURFACES AND IT FELT VERY UNSAFE. AFTER GIVING THEM THIS INFORMATION THEY SCHEDULED ME FOR AN APPOINTMENT A WEEK LATER AND LET ME DRIVE OFF. SUBSEQUENT TO SAY, THE VEHICLE TOTALLY LOST CONTROL 3 DAYS BEFORE THE APPOINTMENT. ROAD SURFACE WAS DRY, IT WAS SUNNY 94 DEGREES AND I WAS TRAVELING AT 40MPH ON A STRAIGHT ROAD AND MY VEHICLE HAS 26K MILES. THE NOISE AND CONTROL ISSUE WAS MINISCULE BUT EXISTENT ON THE VEHICLE AT 14K MILES AND ONLY KEPT GETTING WORSE. I NOTIFIED THE DEALER OF THE POSSIBILITY OF A SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND THEY WERE VERY DEFENSIVE AND MORE CONCERNED ABOUT CHARGING ME FOR THE DAMAGES THAT RESULTED FROM THE VEHICLE MALFUNCTION. I REQUESTED THAT THE COMPUTER LOGS BE PRESERVED AND SENT TO FORD AS IT MAY BE A SAFETY ISSUE AND I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD CHARGE ME EXTRA FOR THAT AND THAT IT WOULD BE QUITE EXPENSIVE AS TO DISCOURAGE ME FROM REPORTING IT. I RETAINED A PRINTOUT OF MY INITIAL COMPLAINT THAT WAS DOCUMENTED AT THE DEALER UPON MY INITIAL VISIT. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY AND IS BEING DIAGNOSED FOR THE FRONT SUSPENSION NOISE ISSUE.
CLUNKING WHEN SHIFTING. THIS APPEARS TO BE WIDESPREAD ON 2015, 2016, AND 2017 FORD MUSTANGS. AFTER PROBLEM APPEARS, FORD TELLS CONSUMER IT IS NORMAL. FROM INTERNET RESEARCH, THIS PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD AND FORD IS NOT ADDRESSING IT.
CLUNKING IN SHIFTING AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. LOAD CLUNK IN REAR OF CAR WHEN ACCELERATING FROM STANDING STOP. PROBLEM APPEARED AT 4,500 MILES ON NEW VEHICLE. FORD ATTEMPTED TO FIX, TOOK 3 VISITS AND OVER ONE MONTH. PROBLEM STILL REMAINS. FORD NOW TELLS ME CLUNKING IS NORMAL. I AM AFRAID THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
Periodically when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear, with manual transmission, I am unable to engage 3rd gear, like I am locked out of 3rd gear. My safety (and vehicles around me) is at risk because I am unable to continue accelerating and have to either go back to 2nd gear or into 4th gear. This problem has not been addressed at service center as it is intermittent. I have had this happen dozens of times. There is no warning when this happens.
I WAS IN A WRECK THAT TOTALED MY VEHICLE. ALL AIRBAGS DEPLOYED EXCEPT DRIVER SIDE STEERING WHEEL. CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO MY NOSE. HAD STITCHES, BROKEN NOSE. ALREADY HAVE HAD ONE SURGERY AND STILL HAVE TO HAVE ONE MORE. I WAS ON A A REGULAR STREET AND SWERVED A DEER AND HIT AN EMBANKMENT.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD AND NOTICED MY PARKING BRAKE INDICATOR FLASHING. I DISCOVERED THAT IT WAS THE PARKING BRAKE HANDLE THAT WAS MOVING FREELY WAS BOUNCING AROUND ENOUGH NEAR THE PARKING BRAKE ENGAGEMENT POINT TO TURN ON THE LIGHT. I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR SERVICE. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NORMAL AND THAT THEY TIGHTENED SOMETHING BUT IT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE CORRECT FIX INVOLVES REMOVING THE CENTER CONSOLE TO GET ACCESS TO THE ADJUSTMENT FOR THE BRAKE CABLES. THIS HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETED YET. THIS IS ONE OF FOUR PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD WITH THIS VEHICLE THAT HAVE NOT BEEN RESOLVED. THIS IS SOMEWHAT A SAFETY CONCERN. DEPENDING ON HOW LOOSE THIS IS, PARKING ON A SLOPE COULD FIND THE CAR IN A PREDICAMENT WHERE IT COULD GET LOOSE AND ROLL AWAY.
AFTER ABOUT 8 MONTHS OF PURCHASE OF THIS VEHICLE THE BACKUP CAMERA BEGAN TO ACT UP. THE CAMERA WOULD OCCASIONALLY GO TO STATIC OR A COMPLETELY BLACK SCREEN. I HAD FINALLY MANAGED TO HAVE TAKEN A VIDEO AND PRODUCED IT FOR THE MECHANIC TO SEE. THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT RECREATE THE ISSUE SO THEY HAD BLAMED THE PROBLEM ON THE HEAT. WHILE I AGREE IT IS HOT IN THE STATE OF ARIZONA, THIS IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SORTED OUT DURING THE DEVELOPMENT CYCLES OF THE VEHICLE AND THE CAMERA. ARIZONA THE LAST I CHECKED IS A PART OF THE UNITED STATES WHERE FORD EXISTS AS A COMPANY AND ROAD TESTS VEHICLES ON ACCOUNT OF THE HEAT. THESE ARE SITUATIONS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIGURED OUT ALREADY. YOU ARE NOT EXPECTED TO RELY ON BACKUP CAMERAS, BUT IN A VEHICLE LIKE THIS IT IS AN IMPORTANT WAY OF BEING ABLE TO SEE OUT THE BACK OF THE CAR AND IS A PREMIUM ITEM. THIS IS ONE OF FOUR COMPLAINTS I HAVE HAD ABOUT THIS VEHICLE THAT HAVE NOT BEEN RESOLVED.
ENGINE OIL COOLER TUBE ASSEMBLIES LEAK BROUGHT THE CAR TO THE DEALER TWICE PROBLEM NOT FIXED, YESTERDAY 4/12/17 BROUGHT THE CAR AGAIN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS SAYING THE COUJLD NOT FINISH THE JOB TODAY AND WANTS TO KEEP THE CAR OVER THE WEEKEND FOR FURTHER REPAIRS. WE PAID GOOD MONEY FOR THIS CAR, WE WANT TO USE THE CAR INSTEAD OF HAVING THE CAR I N THE REPAIR SHOP!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY FAILED WHILE THE DRIVER TURNED AT LOW SPEEDS, AND THE VEHICLE ABRUPTLY VIBRATED AND SHOOK. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER. THE CONTACT PLACED THE VEHICLE INTO REVERSE. WHILE REVERSING, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE SEPARATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE LOWER TIE ROD ASSEMBLY BOLT FAILED. THE BOLT WAS NOT SECURELY FASTENED AND THREADED THE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY, WHICH CAUSED THE TIRE TO SEPARATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 409.
THERE IS A SMALL CRACK IN THE CAULKING AROUND MY REAR WINDSHIELD THAT ALLOWS WATER TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT AND SEATBELT GET WET. THE HEADLINER ALSO SHOWS WATER DAMAGE. THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE CAR IS PARKED. MY DRIVEWAY HAS A SLIGHT UPWARD SLANT AND IT SEEMS TO BE WORSE THAN WHEN MY CAR IS PARKED ON A LEVEL SURFACE.
I BOUGHT A 2016 FORD MUSTANG IN APRIL 2016 ITS A GREAT CAR. I HAD AN ACCIDENT AND THE AIR BAGS GOT DEPLOYED LUCKILY NOTHING HAPPENED TO ME. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT RUSSELL AND SMITH COLLISION CENTER IN HOUSTON,TX FOR 51 DAYS AT A COST OF 18000$ (CAR COST 34000$). ON THE 26TH OF MARCH 2017 A GUY SKIPPED A RED SIGNAL AND CAME INTO THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION SO I HAD TO CRASH INTO HIM AT A SPEED OF 50 MPH. THIS TIME NO AIRBAGS GOT DEPLOYED . ITS ONLY BY GODS GRACE THAT I AM NOT HARMED. I TRIED COMPLAINING TO PEOPLE AT FORD BUT ALL I AM GETTING IS A RUN AROUND FROM THEIR CUSTOMER CARE REPRESENTATIVES. ALL I WANT TO KNOW WHY MY DRIVER AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY EVEN AT THAT SPEED.
DRIVESHAFT VIBRATION GETS WORSE WHEN GOING OVER 45 MILES EVEN WORSE GOING 80
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that the rear-view camera failed to operate as needed with a blank or distorted image on the display screen. The contact then received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V082000 (Back Over Prevention). The vehicle was taken to a dealer for the recall repair; however, upon return of the vehicle, the failure persisted. The dealer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that he had to pay out of pocket for the repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 8,000.
TAKATA RECALL. THE ISSUE WITH MY CAR IS THAT THE ENGINE IS SHUTTING OFF WHILE COMING TO A STOP. WHETHER THE CLUTCH IS ENGAGED ALL THE WAY OR IF IT'S JUST IN NEUTRAL. SUDDENLY THE RPM'S JUST DROP TO ZERO AND I WOULD HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR AGAIN BY HITTING THE START ENGINE BUTTON. THIS HAD HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE PAST FEW COUPLE OF MONTHS. OTHER THAN THAT THE CAR STILL RUNS SMOOTH AND EVERYTHING ELSE IS FINE. I HAVE ALMOST 18000 MILES ON IT. I REALLY HOPE FORD COULD FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEMS IS.
I HAVE SOME SERIOUS CONCERNS ABOUT THE SAFETY RATINGS, SPECIFICALLY THE 2 STAR RATING AFTER THE CRASH TESTS CONDUCTED BY THE EUROPEAN NCAP AND THE AUSTRALIAN ANCAP. THESE CRASH TESTS SHOW THAT THE FRONT AIRBAGS DID NOT INFLATE SUFFICIENTLY TO AVOID HEAD INJURIES. WHEN I WAS FIRST TEST DRIVING THE 2016 MUSTANG, THE WINDOW STICKER HAD A 5 STAR SAFETY RATING BY THE NHTSA.
FORD INTELLIGENCE/NOT SO INTELLIGENT THIS MORNING I WAS PUTTING MY 2 YEAR OLD CHILD IN HER CAR SEAT AS I NORMALLY DO WITH THE CAR STARTED AND I PLACED MY PURSE AND THE KEYS IN THE FRONT SEAT OF THE CAR. AFTER SECURING MY CHILD I CLOSED THE DOOR TO WALK AROUND AND GET IN AND THE DOORS WERE LOCKED. MY CAR WAS RUNNING AND MY 2 YEAR OLD BABY WAS FRANTICALLY SCREAMING IN THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR. WHY DID THIS HAPPEN? WHEN I CONTACTED FORD, THEY SAID THE CAR WAS NOT SUPPOSED TO LOCK WITH THE KEYS INSIDE, SO WHY DID IT HAPPEN?
WHILE DRIVING IN FORWARD AND BACKING UP VEHICLE COMPLETE LOSS OF ELECTRIC POWER STEERING. INCLUDING WARNING CEL FOR SERVICE ADVANCTRAC, HILL ASSIST N/A AND TRACTION CONTROL. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND HAS BEEN TAKE TO DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES. THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL VEHICLE. 3 TIMES ON CITY STREETS WHILE TURNING AND 4 TIMES ON DRIVEWAY.
THE POWER WENT OUT WHILE THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING, WHILE MOVING STEERING WHEEL FROZE,,TOOK TO HAVE FIXED AND POWER TRAIN WAS DAMAGED FROM REPAIRS BUT TOLD IT WAS FIXED , BUT THE DASH SCREEN KEEPS GOING OUT. NOW 3 RECALLS 2 FOR SEATBELTS, FRONT AND BACK, AND THE COOLING SYSTEM IS BEING RECALLED FOR A HOSE OR SYSTEM MALFUNCTION THAT COULD CAUSE A FIRE . ALREADY HAD THE AIR ASSEMBLY FIXED , NOW THIS LATEST RECALL. ALL AROUND THIS IS AN UNSAFE CAR TO DRIVE, IT ONLY HAS 11,000 MILES ON IT AND IT HAS HAD MAJOR DEFECTS AND SEVER THINGS GO WRONG . IT'S A LEMON
Rear View Camera, distorted or doesn't work at all at times. This has tried to be corrected 5 or 6 times at dealership, works for awhile, then happens again. Dealer does not give me a copy of what was done to attempt to fix problem. Now I see this same issue is for other Ford vehicles, just doesn't include the Mustang.
ROUGH IDLE WITH NO THROTTLE CONTROL WHILE IN DRIVE. ENGINE DIED AND WOULDN'T RESTART. WAS TAKEN INTO FORD FOR SIMILAR PROBLEM A FEW MONTHS AGO AND I REPORTED IT HERE. THE FIRST REPAIR WAS RECORDED AS A DEFECTIVE THROTTLE BODY. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE!
GOODYEAR EAGLE F1 ASYMMETRIC ALL SEASON TIRE BLEW OUT WHILE DRIVING DOWN WINCHESTER ROAD IN TEMECULA, CA AT 45 MPH AROUND 6:45PM. THERE WAS A LOUD POP, FOLLOWED BY THE TPS WARNING THAT THE REAR PASSENGER TIRE HAD 1 PSI OF AIR LEFT. THE CAR WAS BROUGHT TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IMMEDIATELY. AFTER BEING TOWED FROM THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND IT WAS DISCOVERED UPON INSPECTION THAT THE INNER SIDE WALL HAD FAILED.
RECALL ISSUED, TOLD NOT TO DRIVE. SITTING WITH CAR FOR MONTHS NO EXTENSION OF WARRANTY, NOT DRIVEABLE
PURCHASE DATE 4-16. EIGHT DOCUMENTED VISITS TO DEALER/REPAIR. OTHER VISITS WHERE SERVICE ADVISER SAID TO RETURN WHEN SYSTEM FAILURES WERE HAPPENING, AS PROBLEM WOULD RESOLVE BEFORE I ARRIVED AT SERVICE. RE WATER INSIDE, DRIVER DOOR ISSUES, SYNC, CAMERA/STEREO ELECTRICAL ISSUES INCLUDE DOORS WILL NOT UNLOCK AT TIMES, TAKES MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO BE GRANTED ACCESS INTO CAR, THUS CAUSING SAFETY CONCERN. SYNC GOES OUT FAIRLY REGULARLY INCLUDING PHONE FUNCTION, BACK UP CAMERA, STEREO. CURRENTLY IN SHOP AGAIN SINCE 7-3-17 @ 9 AM.(16 CONSECUTIVE DAYS THIS TRIP). SAFETY CONCERN OF MOST IMPORTANCE TO ME IS THE FACT THAT CAR HAS LOST POWER MULTIPLE TIMES ON HIGHWAY AND THANKFULLY HAS NOT YET BEEN IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT. QUICK REFLEXES OF DRIVERS BEHIND ME ARE ONLY REASONS THAT ACCIDENTS HAVE BEEN AVOIDED THUS FAR. I AM TOLD BY DEALER THAT THIS IS A THROTTLE BODY MALFUNCTION. THROTTLE BODY HAS BEEN REPROGRAMMED AFTER A NEAR REAR END ACCIDENT ( HIGHWAY/ INTERSECTION/TURN). THROTTLE BODY WENT OUT WITH NO WARNING CAR INSTANTLY DECELERATED WITH NO ACCELERATION CAPABILITY. ONE WEEK LATER THROTTLE BODY FAILS AGAIN CAUSING A NEAR ACCIDENT THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN FATAL IN NATURE DUE TO THE SPEED OF TRAFFIC ON HIGHWAY. MY 7 YEA OLD WAS IN REAR SEAT. MY CHILDREN ARE NO LONGER FOR ANY REASON ALLOWED IN THE VEHICLE SINCE OCTOBER 2016. THROTTLE BODY HAS YET AGAIN BEEN REPLACED JUNE 2017. THIRD ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THIS CAR WITH NO INDICATION THAT THIS IS A REPAIR, IT SEEMS TO BE MERELY A REPAIR ATTEMPT AS THIS PROCESS OF ATTEMPTED REPAIRS HAS CAUSED 3 NEAR REAR ACCIDENTS. THIS CAR HAS PROVEN ITSELF TO BE A DANGER ON THE ROAD AND A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD FOR ANYONE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE OF THIS VEHICLE WHILE IT IS IN MOTION. LOW MILEAGE IS INDICATOR OF HOW UNTRUSTWORTHY VEHICLE IS TO ME. IT IS ONLY DRIVEN BY ME, NO PASSENGERS ALLOWED. ONLY DRIVEN IF ANOTHER CAR CAN NOT BE BORROWED. UNRESOLVED ISSUES.
When putting the manual transmission in gear (1-5 and R) the transmission makes a clunk noise. The noise appeared when the car was less than one year old. Also experienced a few gear clash during shifting while clutch properly disengaged.
I BOUGHT A NEW 2016 MUSTANG IN APRIL. I WAS DRIVING UPHILL AT 40 MPH. ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE ENGINE CUT OFF. WHEN THE ENGINE WENT OFF A LARGE WRENCH CAME UP ON THE DISPLAY AND IT SAID SEE MANUAL. I TRIED PRESSING THE START BUTTON BUT IT WOULD NOT START. I HAD TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT. THIS COULD EASILY LEAD TO DEATH! IF THIS WOULD HAPPEN ON THE BELTWAY OR I-95 I COULD GET KILLED. THE CAR DIDN'T OVERHEAT AND ALL THE GAUGES SHOWED NORMAL. NOW I AM AFRAID TO EVEN DRIVE IT; I DON'T WANT TO BE KILLED OR KILL SOMEONE IF THE ENGINE STOPS.
IT HAS A LITTLE OVER 5000 MILES ON IT AND IT IS USING OIL EXCESSIVELY. IT IS USING A QUART OF OIL EVERY 600-900 MILES AND IS GETTING WORSE. I HAVE BROUGHT IN TO FORD TWICE. BOTH TIMES THEY SAID I WOULD NEED A NEW ENGINE. BUT, I JUST RECEIVED A CALL FROM THEM LAST FRIDAY ON 10-21-16 AND THEY SAID THEY ARE NOT GOING TO BE PUTTING A NEW ENGINE IN THE CAR AS THEY FEAR THE NEW ENGINE WILL DO THE SAME THING. THEY SAID THEY "MAY HAVE A FIX NEXT SPRING." I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEIR REGIONAL REP CALLED ME BACK. SHE ONLY OFFERED ME A MAINTENANCE PLAN FOR FREE OIL CHANGES. THIS IS WORTHLESS TO ME AND MY CURRENT PROBLEM AS IT DOESN'T NEED OIL CHANGES AND DOES NOTHING TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. SINCE THEY ADMIT THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE AND HAVE NO REPAIR FOR IT, I ASKED THEM TO BUY THE CAR BACK. THEY REFUSED.
TAKATA RECALL I BEEN DEALING WITH A ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH MY CAR AND ITS BRAND NEW. EVERY TIME I GET IN THE CAR AND TURN IT ON AND DRIVE FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES MY MUSIC TURNS OFF AND SHOWS THE HORSE SYMBOL DISPLAYED ON THE SCREEN AND IT COMES BACK ON 10 MINUTES LATER. BUT THEN SOMETIMES IT DOES THAT AND THEN THE DISPLAY SCREEN TURNS BLACK AND I CAN'T TURN ON THE RADIO OR ANYTHING. AND THAT LAST FOR A FEW HOURS OR SO.. IT'S REALLY GETTING ANNOYING AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.
PARKING BRAKE ENGAGEMENT/ADJUSTMENT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE DOES NO ENGAGE WHEN THE HANDLE IS PULLED UP DUE TO A SLACK IN THE CABLE LINE OF ABOUT 2 INCHES. THIS CAUSES AN ISSUE DRIVING AS THE SENSOR IS ENGAGED AND CAN CAUSE CRUISE CONTROL TO TURN OFF. ALSO, IT BECOMES A RISK PARKING THE CAR ON A HILL SINCE YOU HAVE TO PULLED THE HANDLE ALL THE WAY UP FOR PROPER TENSION ON THE BRAKE LINE CABLE. THE OTHER ISSUE IS THIS CABLE CAN COME LOOSE RESULTING IN LOST OF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE FUNCTION. ALSO, IT CAN CAUSE VIBRATION AND RATTLING SINCE THE CABLE MOUNT AND BOLTING CAN MOVE AGAINST THE TRANSMISSION CASING. THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND NO ACCELERATION WAS POSSIBLE. THE TROUBLE LIGHT CAME ON. CAR WOULD ONLY ROLL AT 10MPH WITH ENGINE POWER. THE GAS PEDAL WOULD NOT CONTROL THE MOTOR SPEED. CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT. THIS HAPPENED WHEN I JUST PULLED IN TO A PARKING LOT. I WAS ABLE TO USE THE EMERGENCY FLASHERS TO GET THE CAR HOME USING SIDE STREETS AT 10MPH. LAST YEAR A GUY IN HIS 2015 MUSTANG ASKED ME IF I HAD THIS PROBLEM AS HE EXPLAINED THE SAME SITUATION WHEN I ALSO OWNED A 2015 MUSTANG. I DIDN'T HAVE THAT WITH THE 2015, BUT I JUST BOUGHT IT WHEN WE TALKED. I KNOW WHAT HE MEANS NOW. AS MY 2016 DID WHAT HIS 2015 DID WITH A LOSS OF POWER.
I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT 8/28/2020. THE CAR WAS PUSHED OFF THE ROAD BY A TRACTOR TRAILER AND HIT A GUARDRAIL HEAD ON. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. NOTICED A RECALL FOR THE TAKATA AIRBAG THAT I NEVER RECEIVED. HOW MANY OTHER CARS ARE OUT THERE. THE CAR WAS A MUSTANG BOUGHT IN 2016 AND WAS TOTALED.
THE VEHICLE HAS APPROXIMATELY 1000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. IN AN EFFORT TO RECTIFY SQUEALING BRAKES, I CHECKED EACH LUG NUT TO ENSURE THEY WERE TIGHTENED TO FACTORY SPECIFICATION. ALL TWENTY (4 WHEELS WITH 5 LUG NUTS EACH) WERE ONLY TIGHTENED TO APPROXIMATELY 90FT-LBS OF TORQUE. FORD SPECIFIES IN THE OWNERS MANUAL THAT LUG NUTS BE TORQUED TO 150FT-LBS. I USED TWO DIFFERENT STYLES OF TORQUE WRENCH TO CONDUCT MY TEST. ONE TYPE WAS USED TO LOOSEN TEN LUG NUTS AND ANOTHER WAS USED TO LOOSEN THE REMAINING TEN. MY INTENT WAS TO RULE OUT ANY GROSS ERROR IN TORQUE READINGS. TO MY KNOWLEDGE THE WHEELS HAVE NEVER BEEN REMOVED FROM THE VEHICLE, THEREFORE I SEE THREE POSSIBILITIES: THE DEALER REMOVED THE WHEELS FOR SOME REASON AND DID NOT TORQUE TO SPECIFICATION OR THE LUG NUTS ARE LOOSENING THEMSELVES EVENLY OR THEY WERE NOT TORQUED TO SPECIFICATION FROM THE FACTORY. I FEEL THE MOST LIKELY SCENARIO IS THAT THEY WERE NOT TORQUED TO SPECIFICATION FROM THE FACTORY.
DURING NORMAL DRIVING DURING 5PM TRAFFIC, THE CAR SHUDDERED, A WRENCH ICON CAME ON THE SCREEN, THE CAR LOST POWER AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT THE TIME ON A 4 LANE ROAD WITH MULTIPLE OTHER VEHICLES IN CLOSE PROXIMITY. AFTER PULLING OVER AND SHUTTING THE ENGINE OFF AND ON 2-3 TIMES, I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES TO DEALERSHIP. SERVICE DEPARTMENT SEEMS TO THINK IT IS A DEFECTIVE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY.
THE REAR DECK "GT" EMBLEM BROKE ON MY NEW CAR AND FELL OFF. I RETURNED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT REPLACED BECAUSE IT IS A NEW VEHICLE AND STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE EMBLEM WAS REPLACED AS WELL AS THE BACK DECK LID AND THE REVERSE CAMERA BECAUSE IT IS ALL ONE PIECE. AS I LEFT I NOTICED THAT THE NEW DECK LID DID NOT SEAL PROPERLY AND WATER COULD GET IN MY TRUNK SO I RETURNED TO THE SERVICE SHOP. AT THAT TIME I WAS TOLD BY AN ASSOCIATE THAT AN UPDATE WAS MADE TO THE SERVICE MANUAL AND A NEW "BUMPER PAD" WAS REQUIRED TO BE ADDED UNDER THE DECK LID THAT WAS PREVENTING IT FROM CLOSING PROPERLY. I TOLD THEM IT WAS UNACCEPTABLE AND IT NEEDED TO BE FIXED. THEY CONTINUED TO EXPLAIN IT WAS A FACTORY CHANGE AND WAS CORRECTED EXACTLY HOW IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ACCORDING TO THE NEW MANUAL UPDATES. THE LARGER PROBLEM IS THAT I EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT I AM ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY AND WAS PICKING THE CAR UP TO DRIVE STRAIGHT TO MY NEW BASE. THEY STATED IT WAS NOT AN ISSUE AND I COULD HAVE MY LOCAL DEALER LOOK AT THE ITEM AND FIX IT UNDER WARRANTY. WELL, I AM NOW AT MY NEW LOCATION AND THE LOCAL DEALER STATED THERE IS NOT ANY UPDATES TO THE MANUAL FOR THEM TO ADD AN EXTRA BUFFER PAD AND THEY THE DECK LID THEY ADDED IS WARPED FROM THEM TRYING TO FORCE IT ON. HOWEVER, THE LOCAL DEALER CANNOT TOUCH IT BECAUSE IT WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY AT THE OTHER LOCATION AND THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE. NOW THEY WANT ME TO DRIVE IT BACK 490 MILES ONE WAY TO HAVE THEM FIX IT WHEN THEY FIRST LIED TO ME ABOUT WHAT WAS DONE AND THEN ALSO TOLD ME I COULD BRING IT TO A LOCAL SHOP BECAUSE THE MILITARY MOVED ME AND THE WARRANTY WOULD STILL COVER IT. THEY NEED TO PAY WHAT EVER THEY NEED TO THE LOCAL DEALER SO I CAN HAVE MY NEW CAR REPAIRED SINCE THEY MESSED IT UP AND THEN LIED TO ME. MALL OF GEORGIA FORD IS WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND THE SAME SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT LIED TO ME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN TO 2 MPH. THE SERVICE LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER STATED THAT THE FAILURE MAY BE DUE TO THE FUEL LINE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,814.
ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY BROKE, WAS FIXED BY DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE ORIGINAL THAT IS BEING PUT ON 4 MODELS FROM FORD HAVE FAULTY ONES, BUT SINCE ONLY 5,000-8,000 HAVE BROKEN, THERE WAS NO NEED FOR A FULL SCALE RECALL. I PULLED OUT IN TRAFFIC AND LOST ALL POWER, ONLY 1.5 MONTHS AFTER I DROVE OFF THE LOT WITH A BRAND NEW CAR.... YES IT IS MAJOR
1) I have a 2016 Ford Mustang. Within first 5k miles the reverse camera did not operate intermittently. Was told by dealer that no fix was available in 2016. The car is driven summer months only. As years went on I had same defect. They didn’t have a loaner available or I would have to rent a car myself for them to service the said defect. I left it at dealer a few times afterwards then they said they could not duplicate defect. Now they are charging it against my extended warranty and wanted me to pay deductible. I argued with service manager and deductible was waived. Here we are 2021 and defect still remains. Vehicle currently had 23k miles. 2) Also, had to buy new tires already. The Pirelli P-zero tires had major sidewall cracking. 3) Hood of vehicle has corrosion. Contacted Ford corporate with claim. Vehicle is out of warranty as of January 2021. They will make partial payment but not all.
WHEN I HAVE MY FRONT RIGHT WINDOW DOWN ABOUT THREE INCHES AND ACCELERATE, I GET CAR EXHAUST INTO CABIN. I LATER FOUND OUT THAT THE EXHAUST MOVES FROM THE EXHAUST PIPE OF THE MOVING CAR INTO THE CAR TRUNK AND THEN INTO THE CABIN OF MY CAR. I FIRST NOTICED THIS DAYS AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR BUT THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT AND SAID IT WAS PROBABLY A NEW CAR SMELL. I HAD IT CHECKED AGAIN THREE MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE BUT, AGAIN, MECHANIC HAD SAME OUTCOME. I FINALLY GOT FED UP WITH THE SMELL AND ASKED AGAIN 18 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE. FORD SPENT WEEKS EXAMINING IT AND HAD A FORD TECHNICIAN ALSO EXAMINE THE CAR. FORD FOUND THE SMELL THIS TIME AND SAID ANOTHER MUSTANG LIKE MINE ALSO HAD THE SAME SMELL. FORD CLAIMED THE SMELL WAS NORMAL FOR THIS TYPE OF MUSTANG. I HAD AN EXPERT TEST THE CAR SEVERAL HOURS ONE AFTERNOON (SEE PART OF REPORT ATTACHED). HE FOUND THAT CARBON MONOXIDE WAS MUCH HIGHER IN THE TRUNK THAN IN THE CABIN. HE FOUND LEVELS AS HIGH AS 411 PPM IN THE TRUNK AND 14 PPM IN THE CABIN. HE CONCLUDED THAT EXHAUST MOVED FROM EXHAUST PIPE TO CAR TRUNK TO CAR CABIN.
I WAS DRIVING ON LOCAL CITY ROADS. I HAD JUST TURNED AT A LIGHT ONTO A 4 LANE ROAD ACCELERATING AT A NORMAL RATE DUE TO HEAVY TRAFFIC. THE WRENCH INDICATOR CAME ON AND I LOST ALL POWER. LUCKILY, I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE AND WAS ABLE TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT. THE DEALERSHIP STATES THAT IT'S THE THROTTLE BODY AND WILL TAKE AT LEAST A WEEK TO GET THE PART IN. THIS IS RIDICULOUS FOR A CAR WITH LESS THAN 5000 MILES.
I JUST PURCHASED MY BRAND NEW 2016 MUSTANG LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AGO AND HAVE ALREADY BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH IT. I WAS STATIONARY WAITING AT THE STOP LIGHT AND SHIFTED INTO 1ST GEAR 3 TIMES AND MY CAR WOULDN'T BUDGE. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED IT TO MOVE IT OUT OF THE STREET. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON BRIEFLY THEN SHUT OFF. A WEEK LATER I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MILES PER HOUR ON THE FREEWAY AND MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY STALLED WITH NO WARNING. I DO NOT REMEMBER THE ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON THIS TIME. I JUST TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS A BAD THROTTLE BODY.
REAR DIFFERENTIAL TRACTION CONTROL CLUTCH PACK FAILURE
ENGINE STALLED OUT ON TWICE ON HIGHWAY AND LOCAL ROAD. WRENCH SYMBOL APPEARED ON DASH BOARD AND MESSAGE SAYING "SEE MANUAL" THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME SAFELY. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THE THROTTLE BODY HAD TO BE REPLACED.
WHILE DRIVING IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON MY WAY TO WORK, I ATTEMPTED TO CHANGE LANES, BUT THE CAR STALLED AND STARTED FLASHING THE MESSAGE "SEE MANUAL". THANKFULLY, I WAS ABLE TO NAVIGATE AT A VERY REDUCED SPEED (MORE LIKE A COAST) INTO A GAS STATION PARKING LOT. THE CAR IS ONLY SIX (6) MONTHS OLD WITH A LITTLE OVER 8,000 MILES. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED INTO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT A NEW THROTTLE BODY WAS NEEDED. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN FORD AS I LEARNED THAT THE THROTTLE BODIES HAVE BEEN GOING OUT FOR YEARS IN MANY OF THE FORD MODELS AND STILL THE SAME PROBLEMATIC THROTTLE BODIES ARE BEING INSTALLED INTO NEW VEHICLES. I AM THANKFUL THAT I HAD ALREADY EXITED THE INTERSTATE WHEN THIS HAPPENED BECAUSE THE OUTCOME MIGHT HAVE BEEN VERY BAD HAD I BEEN TRAVELING AT 70 MPH WHEN THIS OCCURRED. FORD REALLY SHOULD LOOK INTO INSTALLING BETTER THROTTLE BODIES ONTO THEIR VEHICLES BEFORE SOMEONE IS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR EVEN KILLED.
SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT, COMPUTER SYSTEM INSIDE CAR SHUTS OFF BUT CAR IS STILL RUNNING. COULD NOT TURN CAR OFF OR OPEN THE DOORS. AFTER HITTING THE UNLOCK BUTTON SEVERAL TIMES I REALIZED I WAS LOCKED IN THE CAR. AFTER ABOUT 10 SECONDS, THE SYSTEM REBOOTED ITSELF AND STARTING BLINKING ERROR CODES. 37 CODES TO BE EXACT. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE, IF THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN AN ACCIDENT THE PERSON INSIDE THE CAR COULD NOT GET OUT.
NEW VEHICLE LESS THAN 500 MILES. BAD VIBRATION WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE VIBRATION STARTS AT AROUND 60 MPH AND IS PRESENT ALL THE WAY BEYOND 80 MPH. THE VIBRATION CAN BE FELT INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND ALSO THROUGH THE STEERING. FORD RE-BALANCED THE TIRES AND ALSO REPLACED THE DRIVESHAFT, BUT VIBRATION STILL PERSISTS. FROM OTHER SOURCES IN THE INTERNET IT LOOKS LIKE THIS IS A PROBLEM WHICH IS NOT UNCOMMON ON MUSTANGS AND FORD SEEMS TO REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE. SINCE THIS OCCURS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND SEEMS TO BE COMING IN FROM THE DRIVETRAIN MAKES THIS ISSUE SCARY.
TRANSMISSION OVERHEATS RESULTING IN LOSS OF POWER AND REDUCED RPM. THE LOSS OF POWER IS COMPUTER CONTROLLED. WHEN THE TRANSMISSION HITS A CERTAIN TEMPERATURE THE COMPUTER REDUCES THE ENGINE POWER AND RPM. THIS IS DOCUMENTED BY MY FORD DEALER BY FINDING TRANSMISSION OVERHEAT CODES WHEN THE CARS COMPUTER IS SCANNED. LOSS OF POWER IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION.
