ABS NO LONGER WORKING DUE TO CORROSION IN SEALED COMPUTER MODULE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AND APPLYING THE BRAKES PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, AND THE BRAKES BEGIN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY.DEALER WAS CONTACTED, AND STATED THAT THIS WAS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. *AK
WHEN VEHICLE EXCEEDS 40 MPH ODOMETER WILL BOUNCE. ONCE THIS HAPPENS, DRIVER CANNOT TELL HOW FAST VEHICLE IS MOVING. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
VEHICLE WAS IN FOR A RECALL SERVICE AT AL PIEMONTE, AND TRANSMISSION LEAKAGE OCCURRED AFTER RECALL REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. *AK
CONSUMER HAD DIFFICULTY WITH DEALERSHIP DURING RECALL REPAIR OF (98V-323).
RIGHT FRONT COIL SPRING BROKE CAUSING IT TO DROPPED DOWN ON TOP OF THE TIRE. NLM
VEHICLE IS LEAKING BECAUSE OF TIMING COVER GASKET AND WATER PUMP GASKET FAILURE. YH

WHILE PUTTING VEHICLE IN THE PARK POSITION, THE VEHICLE IS STILL IN REVERSE OR THE VEHICLE WILL REVERSE UNEXPECTEDLY WHICH MAY CAUSE A CRASH OR INJURIES. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION AND VIN#. *AK
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE STALLED UNEXPECTEDLY WITHOUT WARNING WHICH MIGHT HAVE CAUSED A CRASH. DEALER COULD NOT DETERMINE THE PROBLEM. SOMETIMES, VEHICLE WOULD RESTART AFTERWARDS. IF NOT IT WOULD, IT NEEDED TO BE TOWED. *AK

MISALIGNED HEAD LAMPS/FRONT&REAR DOOR/TAILGATE DOOR/HOOD. YOU CAN HEAR GAS IN TANK MOVING AROUND
TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE FOUND RECALL 98V323000 FOR THE 1995 FORD TAURUS ON 05/1999. HE MISPLACED THIS LETTER YEARS AGO. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A FORD DEALERSHIP, AND THEY STATED THAT THEY COULDN'T FIND THE RECALL FOR STRUCTURE: FRAME & MEMBER . HE STATED THAT THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT FIX THIS RECALL FOR HIM. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE SAYVILLE FORD IN SAYVILLE, NY, AND THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY COULDN'T REPAIR THE RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE CALLED THE MANUFACTURER, AND THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE IS NOT INVOLVED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000, AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 93,400. *AK THE CONSUMER WOULD LIKE FORD TO HONOR THE RECALL REGARDLESS OF THE FACT THE CONSUMER MISPLACED AND FOUND THE DOCUMENT AT LATER DATE. THE VIN NUMBERS ON MY CAR AND PAPER WORK ARE DIFFERENT. WE GET PAPER WORK FROM U ALL FOR THE VIN# ON OUR PAPER WORK WHICH NOT IS THE SAME AS OUR CAR. OUR MOTOR MOUNTS ARE COMING LOOSEAS DUE TO THE BOLTS AND THINGS,I DO NOT THINK THAT IT IS FROM WARE AND TEAR. MAYBE SOMEONE CAN LET ME KNOW SOME THING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM... AT 66,900 MILES TRANSMISSION HAS MALFUNCTIONED AND WILL NOT SHIFT INTO FIRST GEAR. REPAIRS WERE MADE AT OWNER'S EXPENSE, WANTS REIMBURSEMENT. *AK *ML
CRUISE CONTROL GOT STUCK WHILE DRIVING AND INCREASED TO 90 MPH. CONSUMER COULD NOT TURN CRUISE CONTROL OFF--DRIVER HAD TO SHUT THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY OFF, PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL, AND COAST OFF THE ROAD TO PREVENT ACCIDENT. OWNER DISENGAGED CRUISE CONTROL TO PREVENT PROBLEM FROM OCCURRING AGAIN. DEALER NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT PROVIDE ANY HELP. *YC
ENGINE OVERHEATED, TOOK TO REPAIR SHOP, HEAD GASKET FAILED, WAS AFTER RECALL DATE (DEC. 98) WAS TOLD NO MAXIMUM MILEAGE BY FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE. LATER FORD CHANGED DATE BUT PUT A LID OF 100,000 MILES. HAVE CONTACTED FORD SEVERAL TIMES TO NO AVAILE. I FEEL THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MILEAGE OF THE VEHICLE BUT A DESIGN PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE REIMBURSED TO THE CUSTOMER.
THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT PROPERLY. WOULD STAY IN LOW GEAR. WOULD JERK WHEN ACCELERATOR WAS APPLIED. TOOK TO DEALER TO HAVE IT CHECKED. CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED WITH A REBUILT TRANSMISSION. *AK

SPEEDOMETER FLOPS BACK AND FORWARD, AND CONSUMER CAN'T TELL HOW FAST VEHICLE WAS GOING WHEN UP TO 45 OR 50 MPH. *AK THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED TWICE AND THE CONSUMER POINTS OUT THAT IT SHOULD BE THE MANUFACTURE'S RESPONSIBILITY TO REPLACE IT. *YH

THE SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE BOUNCES AROUND WHILE TRAVELING 35 MPH. MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED, BUT THE PROBLEM WAS NOT CORRECTED. *AK
I WAS TOLD BY FORD THEY WERE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RUINED ENGINE. BUT HAD THEY NOT INSTALLED FAULTY HEAD GASKETS, OVERHEATING WOULD NOT HAVE OCCURED AND THEN RUINED THE ENGINE. THIS CAR IS NO LONGER USEABLE, CAN YOU HELP, PLEASE? WHO CAN I CONTACT ABOUT THIS. THANK YOU
SPEEDOMETER/ODOMETER MALFUNCTIONED/REPLACED (39,000 MILES)BUT NOW VEHICLE IS TMU-TRUE MILEAGE UNKNOWN-ANY RECOURSE?DASHBOARD VIBRATES INTENSELY AT 70-75MPH. TIRES BALANCED, ROTATED, REPLACED. STRUTS(4) REPLACED, STEERING COMPONENTS CHECKED BUT STILL VIBRATION. APPEARS THAT DASH DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH SUPPORT. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY SPEEDOMETER WENT HAYWIRE UNABLE TO TELL SPEED ENTIRE TRIP. *AK
ENGINE FAILURE - TOOK CAR IN ON 12/23/1998 TO HAVE TEST FOR WARRANTY (FORD 98M01). PAID TO HAVE DEALER TEST COOLANT AND ENGINE FOR LEAKS ($146.98), TOLD ME OK, 4 MONTHS LATER I HAVE USED TWICE A MUCH ANTIFREEZE AS BEFORE AND THERE ARE KNOW VISABLE LEAKS. DEALER TOLD ME OUT OF WARRANTY TOUGH LUCK. TRANSMISSON, HAD IN FOR SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES UNDER WARRANY, SAID FIXED BUT NOW PROBLEM IS GETTING WORSE,.TELLS ME YOU ARE OUT OF WARRANY, TOUGH LUCK. *AK

SPEEDOMETER BOUNCES UP AND DOWN, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE HOW FAST ONE IS GOING. TOOK TO DAELER WHO FIXED PROBLEM TWICE BEFORE, BUT IT REOCCURRED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING SPEEDOMETER WILL JUMP AROUND AND YOU DO NOT KNOW THE EXACT SPEED YOU ARE TRAVELING. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH ON A BUSY INTERSTATE VEHICLE STALLED AND WENT OUT. CONSUMER HAD TO DRIFT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BECAUSE POWER STEERING ALSO WENT OUT, UNTI L VEHICLE COOLED OFF. CONSUMER THEN STARTED VEHICLE, WENT A COUPLE OF MILES, AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. CONSUMER FEELS THIS PROBLEM ONLY HAPPENS WHEN IT IS HOT OUTSIDE. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT COULD HAPPEN ANYWHERE, AND MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. *AK A MECHANIC ADVICED THAT A FUEL PUMP BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT COULD OVER HEAT AND SHUT DOWN IN HOT WEATHER. THE DRIVER DID NOT ACCEPT THE ADVICE AND THE FUEL PUMP IS DOING FINE. *YH

FORD HAS EXTENDED COVERAGE FOR '95 TAURUS' WITH A V6,3.8. I HAVE A '95 TAURUS WITH A V6 ,3.0 AND THEY AREN'T INCLUDING THE 3.0'S. NO SAFETY DEFECT LISTED IN THE SUMMARY. *AK
CONSUMER BELIEVES ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS DEFECTIVE POSSIBLY DUE TO THE #4 FUSE COMING FROM FACTORY W/20 AMPS WHEN MANUAL STATES 15 AMPS. THIS FUSE HAS BLOWN 8 TIMES,IT CONTROLS SEVERAL COMPONENTS, INCLUDING THE DASH/REAR TAIL LIGHTS WHICH HAVE FAILED SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT AND THE TURN SIGNAL BULBS WHICH HAVE BEEN REPLACED 6 TIMES. OTHER ELECTRICAL REPAIRS INCLUDE 3 TRIP INDICATORS AND 1 SPEEDOMETER.
STARTED LOSING OIL - 2 QUARTS IN FOUR (4) DAYS. STARTED RUNNING HOT AND SMELLING LIKE BURNT OIL.
BRAKING SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE WHICH MAY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. CAUSE UNKNOWN. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION AND VIN#. *AK

I HAVE REQUESTED THE DEALER REPAIR THIS SPEEDOMETER ON THREE OCCASIONS TO NO AVAIL. PLEASE ADVISE.
VEHICLE SPEEDOMETER MALFUNCTIONING. *YC
2 WIRES CONNECTED TO THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH, ON THE BRAKE PEDAL, SHORTED TOGETHER. AT THIS POINT THE WIRE INSULATION AND SHEATHING BEGAN TO MELT AND BURN FILLING THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT WITH SMOKE. THE ONLY WAY I COULD STOP IT WAS TO DISCONNECT THE CAR BATTERY. THE 15 AMP FUSE FOR THE BRAKE LIGHTS DID NOT BLOW!! I HAVE SAVED THE 2 INCH SECTION OF WIRING THAT WAS BURNED AND MELTED.
VEHICLE WAS ENGAGED IN CRUISE CONTROL AND EXPERIENCED SUDDEN ACCELERATION RESULTING IN ACCIDENT. MJS
THE VEHICLE IN THE COMPLAINT WAS A RECALLED VEHICLE. HOWEVER, WHEN IT WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALER FOR REPAIR OF THE SYSTEM WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. THEREFORE, THE AFFECTED PART WAS NOT REPLACED . NOW WE OWN A VEHICLE WITH A CRACKED ENGINE HEAD THAT IS GOING TO COAST A BUNDLE TO REPAIR. AFTER CONTACTING THE COMPANY WE WERE TOLD THAT THE WARRANTY WAS VOID. THEREFORE, FORD WASN'T GOING TO DO ANYTHING. A DEFECT IS A DEFECT WHICH SHOULD BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF FORD. RECALL 97V-019, COOLING FAN. *AK
TWICE IN A MATTER OF WEEKS VEHICLE LOST FULL POWER, ONCE IN TOWN AND ONCE ON INTERSTATE. REQUIRED PULLING OFF ROAD AND RESTARTING VEHICLE. AFTER FIRST FAILURE, RETURNED TO LOCAL (OHIO) FORD DEALER FOR FULL INSPECTION. VEHICLE WAS FOUND TO BE IN "NORMAL" CONDTION. *AK
1ST FUEL FILLER TUBE ASSEMBLY FIRE OCCURRED ON 7/16/98, AND WAS REPLACED WITH FORD PARTS BY PARKER'S SERVICECENTER, 7544 ST JOE ROAD, FT WAYNE IN 46835, (219) 485-5032. SECOND FUEL LINE FIRE OCCURRED ON 2/06/99 WHICH CAUSED TOTAL DAMAGES TO MY AUTO, AND I HAVE FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORTS ON INCIDENT. *AK
HAVE DISCOVERED THAT A MOTOR MOUNT IS BROKEN. NOTIFIED THE DEALER, WE WERE INFORMED THAT IT WOULD COST OVER $300 TO FIX. A FRIEND OF OURS HAS A 1992 TAURUS WITH SAME PROBLEM, WAS FIXED BY DEALER AT NO COST. CAR HAS LOW MILEAGE, IN GOOD CONDITION, OWNER ONLY PUT ON 27,000 MILES, MOSTLY LOCAL MILEAGE.
WHEN CONSUMER TRIED TO START VEHICLE IN THE MORNING, VEHICLE STARTED. BUT WHEN SHE MOVED THE TRANSMISSION PAWL FROM PARK TO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE. WAS TAKEN TO DEALER , WHERE THEY TOLD CONSUMER THAT PROBLEM WAS TRANSMISSION FAILURE. *AK

RIGHT REAR DISK BRAKE CALIPER LOCKED UP ON ROTOR CAUSING BREAK PADS TO WEAR TO THE POINT OF METAL TO METAL CONTACT WITH THE ROTOR.*ET
THE SPEEDOMETER BROKE. COULD NOT TELL HOW FAST VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP & WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS HAD TO BE ORDERED FROM MANUFACTURER FOR REPLACEMENT. AK
SPEEDODOMETER REPLACED 02/03/1998 WITH ONLY 29776 MILES ON IT CO SAYS THEY WILL TALK TO ME ABOUT IT WHEN I GO IN NEXT WEEK. WAY ISNT THE FORD CO EREPLACING THESE ITS SEMMS TO BE A PROBLEM ON ALL 95 TAURUS?*AK
