WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY THE RIGHT REAR SPRING BROKE AND CUT THE RIGHT REAR TIRE CAUSING THE TIRE TO LOSE AIR AND GO FLAT. *AK
THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS COME ON AND GO OFF ON THEIR OWN. THE CONSUMER NOTICED AT THIS TIME THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WOULD NOT COME ON AT ALL. THE CONSUMER DROVE TO THE DEALER. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR NEEDED REPLACEMENT. PLEASE FILL IN ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB
'RECALL CAMPAIGN' ISSUED FOR FRONT COIL SPRINGS ON 2001 FORD TAURUS. *BF THE CONSUMER WANTED TO KNOW WHY HER VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED FOR THE PROTECTIVE SHIELDS. THE CONSUMER HAS A LETTER WHICH STATED THE PROTECTIVE SHIELD INSTALLATION DID NOT APPLY TO THE STATE OF FLORIDA, HOWEVER THE CONSUMER RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER WHICH STATED OTHERWISE. *JB
DT: THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 FORD TAURUS. SHE STATES THAT WHEN GETTING READY TO PUT THE VEHICLE INTO PARK AND TO HIT THE BRAKES VEHICLE ACCELERATED. THIS HAPPENED TWICE, AND SHE WAS AFRAID THAT THIS WAS GOING TO CAUSE A CRASH BECAUSE THE FIRST TIME VEHICLE HIT SOME BARRIERS BUT THERE WAS NO CRASH. WAS REPORTED THE INSURANCE COMPANY.*AK CONSUMER ADDED THAT THE VEHICLE S VEHICLE SURGED, ACCELERATED, STALLED AND HESITATED. *TT *NM
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT REAR COIL SPRING PROBLEM.. WHILE DRIVING DRIVER HEARD A RUBBING NOISE UNDER THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE . WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE REAR COIL SPRINGS WERE FRACTURED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE VEHICLE, AND THE FRACTURE WAS COVERED WITH RUST WHICH WAS AN INDICATION THAT THE COIL SPRINGS WERE DAMAGED LONG BEFORE THEY BROKE . *AK...CONSUMER HAD THE OLD SPRINGS IN HIS POSSESSION IF INSPECTION WAS NEEDED. ALSO, INDICATED THE REAR COIL SPRING FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO THE MANUFACTURER'S RECALL 04S17. HOWEVER, FORD DENIED CONSUMER'S REQUEST FOR REIMBURSEMENT THAT MANUFACTURER'S RECALL WAS ONLY FOR FRONT COIL SPRING FAILURE. *AK
CAR PARKED FOR 10 MINUTES AFTER A SHORT 5 MILE DRIVE. SMOKE REPORTED FROM UNDER HOOD. ONCE HOOD OPENED, FOUND SMALL FIRE WHICH WAS EASILY EXTINGUISHED BY OWNER. VEHICLE DRIVEN TO LOCAL FORD DEALER. MECHANIC CLAIMED 3 LEAKES FROM RUPTURED POWER STEERING LINES CAUSED HYDRAULIC FLUID TO SPILL ONTO ENGINE. DEALER REPLACED LINES FOR $600.00. OWNER HAD TO CLEAN REMAINING FLUID FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT AFTER REPAIR.*AK
MY SON ADVISED ME TO SEND THIS TO YOU. OUR 2001 FORD TAURUS WAS IN OUR GARAGE WHEN OUR GARAGE CAUGHT FIRE AND BURNED IN FEBRUARY. THERE DIDN'T SEEM TO BE ANY REASON FOR THE GARAGE TO BURN. I WAS ADVISED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT THE CASE WAS IN THE GARAGE WHEN THE GARAGE STARTED TO BURN. WE HAVE PICTURES.
MY DAUGHTER GOT TO WORK AND SHUT THE CAR OFF AND WHEN SHE CAME OUT THE CAR STARTED BUT WOULD NOT GO IN GEAR. NO WARNING OF ANY KIND. WE HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO INVER GROVE FORD AND FOUND OUT THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WITH ONLY 38,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. OF COURSE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED AT 36,000. WE TALKED WITH FORD AND THEY STATED THAT SINCE WE DIDN'T BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I HELPED MY DAUGHTER BUY THIS CAR SO SHE WOULD HAVE A RELIABLE CAR TO DRIVE MY TWO GRANDCHILDREN AROUND IN AND GET BACK AND FORTH TO WORK. I THANK GOD EVERYDAY THAT THE CAR WAS PARKED AND SHE WAS NOT DRIVING IT LET ALONE WITH MY GRANDCHILDREN IN IT. INVER GROVE FORD STATED THAT A MAJOR COMPONENT HAD GONE OUT AND IT WOULD BE $3400 TO FIX THE COMPONENT OR FOR $3500 WE COULD GET A NEW TRANSMISSION PUT IN IT. GIVE ME A BREAK. A $100 DIFFERENCE. I MOST DEFINETELY WILL NOT BE BUYING ANOTHER FORD PRODUCT. SHAME ON THEM FOR NOT STRESSING THE FACT TO ME THAT BY BUYING THIS CAR I REALLY NEEDED TO BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. NOW THE CAR WILL BE SITTING UNTIL WE CAN AFFORD TO GET IT FIXED. THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY TAKES THE MONEY BUT REALLY DOESN'T CARE ABOUT THE CONSUMER. WE WERE TOLD WE WERE NOT LOYAL CUSTOMERS BECAUSE WE DIDN'T BRING THE CAR BACK FOR OIL CHANGES AND SUCH AND GIVE THEM MORE MONEY. WE WERE FAULTED BECAUSE WE COULD CHANGE THE OIL OURSELVES. *AK
DT: 2001 FORD TAURUS. THE VEHICLE HAD A BROKEN REAR COIL SPRING. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AND LEFT A MESSAGE IN WHICH THEY HADN'T RETURNED THE CALL. THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AT MCCRACKIN FORD. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAD 14000 MILES ON IT WHEN THE REAR COIL SPRING BROKE. THE CONSUMER HAD NOT EXPERIENCED ANY ACCIDENTS. THE CONSUMER WANTED HER MONEY BACK FOR THE SERVICE THAT WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. AK *SC
THE VEHICLE STARTED SHAKING, AND THEN THE LEFT REAR TIRE BLEW OUT. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE REAR COIL SPRINGS AND STRUTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB
CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT A REAR COIL SPRING PROBLEM. WHILE BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY REAR COIL SPRING BROKE, CAUSING THE SPRING TO PUNCTURE THE LEFT REAR TIRE. OWNER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, AND WAS TOLD THAT REPAIR FOR THE REAR SPRING WILL BE AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE. *AK THEY REPAIRED SPRING AND STRUTS. BILL WAS $760.00 AND THYE BILLED THE CONSUMER FOR $100.00. THEY DO NOT HAVE PROTECTIVE SHIELDS FOR REAR SPRINGS. IT IS STILL AN UNSAFE CAR TO DRIVE. *BF
MY 2001 TAURUS SES HAS HAD A HESITATION WHEN I ENGAGE FROM PARK TO DRIVE, AFTER A SECOND OR TWO IT FINALLY ENGAGES INTO DRIVE. EVERY DEALERSHIP I SPOKE TO STATED THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE CONCERN. I HAVE HAD IT SINCE 2001 AND I STILL HAVE THIS ISSUE. I FEEL AS IF FORD HID SOMETHING IN THIS MANUFACTURED PRODUCT AND NOW I HAVE A PROBLEM THAT NO ONE CAN FIND. *AK
I HAVE A 2001 FORD TAURUS STATION WAGON WITH A LITTLE OVER 56,000 MILES ON IT. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE AT A LONG STOP LIGHT & WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON, I HAD NO POWER STEERING. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR THE REMAINING MILE TO WORK WITH GREAT DIFFICULTY. WHEN I GOT TO WORK I NOTICED THE SERPENTINE BELT HAD BROKE. AFTER WORK, I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR 2 MILES TO A GARAGE FOR REPAIRS, ONCE AGAIN WITHOUT POWER STEERING. THE GARAGE STATED THAT THE REASON THE SERPENTINE BELT BROKE WAS THAT THE BEARINGS IN THE AIR CONDITIONING CLUTCH WERE SEIZED WHICH CAUSED THE CLUTCH TO LOCK UP. THIS CAUSED TREMENDOUS FRICTION ON THE SERPENTINE BELT CAUSING IT TO BREAK. THE MECHANIC SHOWED ME THE AIR CONDITIONING CLUTCH WITH THE SEIZED BEARINGS & ALSO STATED THAT THE BOLT THAT HOLDS THE CLUTCH TO THE ENGINE WAS ABOUT TO COME OFF & THAT WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE CLUTCH TO COME OFF THE ENGINE. THE SHOP MANAGER STATED THAT THIS PROBLEM SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN TO A VEHICLE WITH THIS AMOUNT OF MILES ON IT, BUT HE HAD NOTICED THIS PROBLEM LATELY WITH NEWER MODEL FORDS. THIS PROBLEM DID NOT CAUSE AN ACCIDENT AS I LOST POWER STEERING WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS NOT MOVING. I AM ALSO A MUSCULAR MAN, SO I WAS ABLE TO STEER THE VEHICLE AT LOW SPEEDS WORTH GREAT DIFFICULTY. HOWEVER, IF THIS HAD HAPPENED AT A HIGHWAY SPEED WITH MY WIFE OR MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER DRIVING, THEY WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE & WOULD PROBABLY HAVE CRASHED POTENTIALLY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. I WOULD LIKE THIS PROBLEM INVESTIGATED TO SEE IF THERE IS A DESIGN PROBLEM WITH THE AIR CONDITIONING CLUTCH ON LATE MODEL FORDS. *JB
MY WIFE AMY L DYKMAN HAS OWNED A 2001 TAURUS FOR ALMOST 3 YEARS. WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATIONS OF MANUFACTURER RECALLS. I CHECKED THE WEBSITE AND THERE ARE NINE RECALLS THAT COULD AFFECT OUR CAR, SOME HAVING TO DO WITH THE CHILD SEAT, WHICH IS VERY CONCERNING TO US. WE ARE BOTH YOUNG PROFESSIONALS AND LOYAL FORD CUSTOMERS WITH FAMILY WHO WORK FOR FORD, BUT THE FACT THAT I HAVE TO FIND OUT ON MY OWN THERE ARE RECALLS MAKES ME QUESTION THE FOLLOW-UP AND INTEGRITY OF FORD MOTORS CO. WE PURCHASED OUR 2001 TAURUS, THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY WOULD FIX SEVERAL WRONGS, ONE INCLUDED THE HEATER. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO DO WHAT THEY PROMISED WE HAVE OUR 2 MONTH OLD $9000.00 PURCHASE SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY UNABLE TO DRIVE BECAUSE OF COLD WEATHER. WE WERE FIRST TOLD THE SWITCH WAS BAD, WE WERE THEN TOLD THE BLOWER WAS THE CULPRIT,. THE CAR WAS DROPPED OFF IN OUR DRIVE WAY BECAUSE, AS WE WERE TOLD, THE CAR COULD NOT SIT IN THE DEALERSHIP LONGER THAN SEVENTY TWO HOURS. THE HEATER WAS STILL NOT FIXED. I CALLED OUR ORIGINAL CONTACT PERSON, HE PICKED UP THE CAR AND TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD US THE CAR WAS DONE. I CALLED TO CONFIRM AND WAS TOLD THE DEALERSHIP WAS NOT DOING ANY THING ELSE TO THE CAR AS THEY HAD PUT TOO MUCH MONEY INTO THE CAR ALREADY,MY WIFE WAS THEN TOLD, IF WE WANTED TO HAVE THE HEATER FIXED WE COULD HAVE IT DONE UNDER THE WARRANTY THAT WE HAD PURCHASED FOR $1750.00 AND PAY THE $100.00 DEDUCTIBLE, BECAUSE OF THE TIME CONSTRAINTS ON OUR WE OWE CONTRACT(THIS IS LIKE A PROMISE TO FIX) CONTRACT WHICH EXPIRED ON THE LAST DATE WE PICKED UP OUR NEW TO US FORD, I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND TALKED TO THE MANAGER, THE MANAGER INFORMED ME THAT THE RELAY WAS REPLACED, BUT THAT MIGHT NOT HAVE BEEN THE PROBLEM........ WHAT A BAD EXPERIENCE ON A 51,000 MILE VEHICLE. I'VE CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS HOPING FOR A FAIR DEAL,NO HELP..I WAS REMINDED THAT MY VEHICLE IS A FORD AND ONLY PURCHASED AT A G.M. DEALER. I'VE CONTACTED FORD AND WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. FORD HAS NO EXTENDED AVAILABLE. AUOTMATIC TRANSMISSION FAILURE WITH NO WARNING AND NO WARRANTY OR RECALL FROM FORD. CAR HAS 53000 MILES . DRIVING ALONG AT 30 MPH AND IT WAS LIKE THE CAR WAS PUT INTO NEUTRAL.COMPLETE TRANS FAILURE WITH NO WARNING NOT A SAFE THING TO HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAY OR ANYWHERE ELSE FOR THAT FACT. BOTH REAR COIL SPRINGS FRACTURED ON MY WIFE'S 2001 FORD TAURUS. LUCKILY SHE WAS NOT DRIVING THE CAR AT THE TIME. THE COILS CUT THROUGH THE INNER SIDE WALLS OF BOTH BRAND NEW TIRES WHICH WERE JUST INSTALLED ON THE CAR (JANUARY 04 2005). MY WIFE WAS HEADING INTO WORK VIA THE FREEWAY AND IF IT WAS NOT FOR THE GOODYEAR TECHNICIAN WHO HEARD A NOISE DURING THE TEST DRIVE, MY WIFE COULD HAVE POTENTIALLY BEEN INVOLVED IN A VERY SERIOUS ACCIDENT HAD THE TIRES BLOWN OUT AT HIGHWAY SPEED. I CONTACTED FORD OF CANADA ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS FOR COMPENSATION BUT TO NO AVAIL. AT THE TIME OF THE TIRE REPLACEMENT, THE VEHICLE HAD ONLY 74,000 KM. UPON REMOVAL OF THE REAR COIL SPRINGS, IT WAS CLEAR THAT THEY HAD BEEN BROKEN FOR SOME TIME AS THE FRACTURE POINTS WERE WELL RUSTED OVER. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN DEATH. WE'VE HAD MANY PROBLEM IN THE PAST YEAR. FIRST IN THE PEAK OF WINTER THE HEATER CORE HAD TO BE REPLACE. FOLLOWING A MONTH LATER WITH THE ENGINE MAKING A HORRIBLE RATTLING, WHEN THE CAR IN IN IDLE IT WOULD STOP ALL TOGETHER, THE CAR HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO A FORD DEALER...WHICH ESTIMATES THE COST TO BE $4700.00 TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE CAR IS AT 81000 MILES AND THOUGH WE PURCHASED THE ESP...IT IS 1800 MILES OVERDUE...SO THE COST WILL BE OURS TO FIX IT. I'VE NEVER HAD AN ENGINE DIE IN A CAR THAT IS 4 YEARS OLD. THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING FOR THE PAST WEEK WHILE WE FIGURE OUT WHAT TO DO WITH IT.*AK

REAR COIL SPRINGS FRACTURED AND RUBBED ON REAR TIRE. HAD TO REPLACE BOTH REAR COIL SPRINGS AND 1 TIRE. WHEN REAR COIL SPRING FRACTURED IT CAUSED THE REAR STRUT TO BREAK THE UPPER STRUT MOUNT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS SAGGING IN THE BACK. I ALSO HAD THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS REPLACED UNDER A EXISTING SAFETY RECALL BECAUSE THEY WERE FRACTURED TO.*AK
REAR COIL SPRINGS ON 2001 FORD TAURUS. BOTH, OF REAR COIL SPRINGS HAVE FRACTURED WHILE DRIVING AND ONE THE SHARP BROKEN SPRING WAS LESS THAN 1/4" FROM THE SIDE WALL OF THE TIRE I HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT DID NOT RIP A HUGE HOLE IN THE TIRE. IF I WOULD NOT HAVE HAD SOME UNRELATED WORK DONE ON THE REAR OF THE CAR I WOULD HAV E NEVER KNOWN UNTIL THE TIRE WOULD HAVE BEEN RIPPED WIDE OPEN AND POSSBLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. *AK

A LOUD GRINDING NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE LEFT REAR WHEEL WHILE DRIVING 35-40 MPH. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT A PART OF THE BRAKE BROKE OFF INTO THE BRAKE DRUM, AND THAT THE DRUM/PADS, AND BRAKE CYLINDER NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED.*AK BEFORE THE LOUD GRINDNG NOISE THERE WAS A LOUD POP FROM THE LEFT REAR WHEEL. REAR SHOES AND REAR WHEEL CYLINDER WERE REPALCED AND BRAKE SYSTEM WAS BLEED. 2 BRAKE DRUMS ALSO HAD TO BE RESURFACED. *TT
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT 65, MPH, THE CONSUMER WAS COMING TO AN EXIT, AND BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN. THEN. IT ACCELERATED, AND THE CONSUMER COULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE WITH THE BRAKES. THE VEHICLE IS NOW PARKED.*AK
CONSUMER HEARD A RUBBING SOUND FROM THE REAR. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT REAR SPRING RUSTED AND SNAPPED, SCORING THE LEFT REAR TIRE. VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM, BUT FOR THE REAR. *AK
THERE WERE TIRE CRACKS 3-5 INCHES LONG AND THEY LEAKED AIR. *SC THEY MANUFACTURER GAVE THE CONSUMER 88.00 WHICH ONLY COVERED THE COST OF ONE TIRE. (THE CONSUMERS SON IN LAW WROTE IN ON BEHALF OF THE CONSUMER LAWRENCE MARINELLI) *JB

WHILE DRIVING THE SIDE AIRBAG INADVERTENTLY DEPLOYED. WHEN TAKEN TO GET SERVICED IT WAS DETERMINED TO BE DUE TO THE SENSOR.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH REAR COIL SPRINGS PUNCTURED THE REAR TIRES. CONSUMER HAD THE TIRES CHANGED. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
ON THE DATE BELOW ABOUT 8.00 AM, I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WITH MY 2001 FORD TAURUS. ALTHOUGH IT WAS VERY COLD THAT MORNING THE SKIES WERE CLEAR AND THEIR WAS NO PRECIPITATION AT ALL. ROADWAYS WERE CLEAR FOR THE MOST PART. I WAS COMING DOWN A MOUNTAIN ROAD TRAVELING TO WORK WHEN I ENCOUNTERED AN ICY PATCH OF ROAD THAT HAD FORMED PROBABLY DUE TO FROST CONDITIONS SINCE IT WAS VERY COLD. WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKES MY FORD TAURUS SEEMED TO ACCELERATE PUSHING ME FASTER DOWN THE HILL. A SLOW MOVING TRUCK WAS A HEAD OF ME AND I COULD NOT SLOW DOWN IN TIME. AT THE SAME TIME A CAR WAS IN IN THE PASSING LANE BESIDE ME SINCE THIS WAS A FOUR LANE HIGHWAY. I SWERVED AN STRUCK THE CAR IN THE PASSING LANE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. MY TAURUS HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE GARAGE AND UPON REPAIRING THE VEHICLE I WAS NOTIFIED THAT A FUEL CENSOR NEEDED REPLACING AT MY EXPENSE. I SPOKE WITH THE MECHANIC AND HE INFORMED ME THAT THIS PART COULD CAUSE THE CAR TO ACCELERATE SUDDENLY. MY INSURANCE IS FORCING ME TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ACCIDENT AND THE POLICE HAS CITED ME ALSO. I WAS NOT SPEEDING AS EVIDENCED BY THE CAR PASSING ME. I KNOW MY CAR HAD ACCELERATED FORWARD AND I BELIEVE THIS MAY BE A DEFECT WITH THE TARRUS. ONE LAST FOOTNOTE IS THAT A CAR BEFORE ME SKIDDED ON THE SAME ICY PATCH AND HAD A MORE SERIOUS ACCIDENT THAT INVOLVED AN AMBULANCE AND FIRE ASSISTANCE. 2001 FORD TAURUS, I WAS TURNING INTO MY HOME DRIVEWAY, WHEN THE FRONT LEFT STRUT SPRING BROKE (DRIVE IS TYPICAL SUBURBAN DRIVE,NO REMARKABLE BUMPS OR TURNS). THE ACTION CAUSED THE BROKEN PIECE TO SHEER THE TIRE FROM THE WHEEL IN ONE REVOLUTION OF THE WHEEL. 2001 FORD TAURUS DEVELOPED A LOUD CHIRPING SOUND THAT WAS HEARD WHEN CAR WAS RUNNING. THIS CAR HAS ONLY A LITTLE OVER 80000 MILES ON IT. WHEN IT WAS TAKEN TO A GARAGE TO BE LOOKED OUT. THEY CLAIMED THE SOUND WAS COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION AND THE TORK CONVERTER. TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, WE NOW HAVE TO PAY $2300.00 FOR A NEW TRANSMISSION. AFTER THE TRANSMISSION WAS INSTALLED, THE SOUND IS STILL THERE. WE WERE INFORMED THAT THE TORK CONVERTER IS WHAT IS MAKING THE SOUND AND IT WILL TAKE SEVERAL WEEKS OF DRIVING BEFORE THE SOUND DISAPPEARS. BRAKE FAILURE IN THE FORD TAURUS 2001 131,000 MILES [XXX] MAJOR ACCIDENT AVOIDED (MASTER CYLINDER FAILURE) LIFE OR DEATH SAFETY ISSUE W/ THE FORD TAURUS 2001 REGARDING THE "BRAKES". YESTERDAY I HAD A COMPLETE "BRAKE FAILURE" WITHOUT ANY WARNING AND OR SIGN OF A PROBLEM. AS IT TURNED OUT IT WAS THE MASTER CYLINDER THAT "FAILED". THE BRAKE FLUID CONTAINER IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WAS FULL EVEN LONG AFTER THE INCIDENT. I WAS TRAVELING ACROSS A FIVE MILE BRIDGE (HOWARD FRANKLIN) FROM CLEARWATER TO TAMPA AT 70 MILES PER HOUR W/ NO VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. WITHOUT WARNING I HAD NO BRAKES AND I HAD TO COAST TO A STOP AND JAM IN THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. LUCKILY I WASN'T KILLED AND OR SERIOUSLY INJURED. HOW CAN THIS POSSIBLY HAPPEN ?
