I OWN A 2001 FORD TAURUS SEL WITH 156K MILES. I LOSE CONTROL OF MY VEHICLE DURING RUSH HOUR COMMUTE HOME. THE CAR ACCELERATED VIOLENTLY ON ITS OWN AS IF THE THROTTLE WAS STUCK. I NEARLY SLAMMED INTO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. THE ACCELERATION OVER POWERED THE BRAKES. I SHIFTED THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL AND THE ENGINE REVVED TO THE POINT I THOUGHT IT WOULD BLOW. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND HAD TO BE PUSHED OUT OF A DANGEROUS/BUSY LOCATION. WHAT SCARES ME THE MOST IS THAT I SHARED THIS VEHICLE WITH A 16 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. *TR
FORD TAURUS 2001 CRUISE CONTROL POORLY DESIGNED CRUISE CABLE CAUSED THE CAR TO CONTINUE RUNNING AT HIGH SPEED. CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT ENGAGED AT THE TIME OF THE PROBLEM SHOWING UP. I TURNED ENGINE OFF. IT COULD HAVE BEEN BAD IF SOME ONE ELSE WAS DRIVING. I HAVE INVESTIGATED THE PROBLEM AND CAN EASILY REPRODUCE IT. WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL BOTH THE THROTTLE CABLE AND THE CRUISE CABLE ARE MOVING TOGETHER. BUT WHEN THE PLASTICS ON THE END OF THE CRUISE CABLE GETS OLD THE TWO PARTS SEPARATE AND THE CABLE SLEEVE IS GETTING STUCK ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOLDING PIECE. THE ACCELERATOR CABLE THEN CANNOT GO BAKE INTO IDLE POSITION. IF THE EXPLANATION IS NOT CLEAR I CAN ADD PHOTOS OF THE PROBLEM. ARIE KRYZEWSKI *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 FORD TAURUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE INTERMITTENTLY AND THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DIFFICULT TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
IN MARCH OF 2009 I HAD A FRONT SPRING BLOW OUT ON MY 2001 FORD TAURUS. AT THAT TIME FORD REPLACED THEM UNDER A RECALL, HOWEVER FORD REFUSED TO PAY FOR A NEW TIRE WHICH A SET OF NEW HAD BEEN INSTALLED IN FEB. 2009 AND THE TOWING BILL. NOW THE RIGHT REAR SPRING HAS DONE THE SAME THING AND DESTROYED ANOTHER TIRE. THE MECHANIC AT MY LOCAL FORD TELLS ME THE REPAIR IS 280.00 NOT INCLUDING ANOTHER TIRE AND TOWING. HE ALSO STATED TO ME THAT FORD SHOULD HAVE RECALLED THESE CARS FOR THE REAR SPRING ALSO, BECAUSE THEY'VE HAD AS MUCH TROUBLE AS THE FRONT. LUCKILY BOTH INSTANCES HAPPENED AT A LOW SPEED. I BELIEVE IT IS UP TO YOUR AGENCY TO PUSH FOR A MANDATORY RECALL, BEFORE SOMEONE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY GET SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED! OR DOES THE LAST SENTENCE HAVE TO HAPPEN FIRST! *TR
MY 2001 FORD TAURUS WITH 97,000 MILES ON IT HAS ONE FRONT AND TWO REAR COIL SPRINGS BROKEN. I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THAT THE REAR ONES ARE NOT COVERED. MY LOW MILEAGE 2001 FORD TAURUS HAD THE REAR COIL SPRING BREAK WHILE I WAS DRIVING CAUSING OTHER CAR DAMAGE INCLUDING RIPPING OPEN A NEW TIRE. ALL TOLD $600 OF DAMAGE OCCURRED AND IF I HAD BEEN DRIVING FASTER, MY LIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN DANGER. *TR
MY BOTH FRONT AND BOTH BACK SPRING COILS BROKE IN MY CAR. NO-ONE EVER NOTIFIED ME ABOUT RECALL FOR MY CAR MODELS. I AM LUCKY THAT DIDN'T GOT INTO ANY ACCIDENTS. MY TIRES ARE LESS THAN 2 YEAR OLD AND ARE JUNK BECAUSE OF THE SPRINGS DAMAGING THEM. NOW I WILL HAVE TO PURCHASE ANOTHER TIRES, AND IT WILL COST ME A MONEY I DON'T REALLY PREPARED TO SPEND RIGHT NOW. 2001 TAURUS SE, WHILE DOING A TIRE ROTATION, NOTICED LEFT REAR COIL SPRING BROKEN, SHARP END WAS ONLY 1/4" FROM TIRE. LEFT FRONT SPRING BROKE LAST YEAR DAMAGING A NEW TIRE, SPRING WAS REPLACED IN RECALL BUT NOT THE TIRE. HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE YOU MAKE THEM RECALL THESE CARS WITH DEFECTIVE SPRINGS? *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 FORD TAURUS. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT THE REPAIR SHOP, THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE REAR QUICK STRUTS SPRING FAILED. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE SPRINGS FAILED SEVERAL YEARS AGO. THE ISSUE WITH THE SPRINGS FOR THIS YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION. MY SON WAS DRIVING MY 2001 FORD TAURUS. HE PULLED IN TO MY DRIVEWAY WITH SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND RIGHT SIDE OF CAR. MY MECHANIC SAID THE FRONT SPRING BROKE WHICH ALSO BROKE THE STRUT AND SHREDDED THE BOOT. ITS COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. NOW MY CONCERN IS THE REAR SPRINGS. WHY IS THERE NO RECALL FOR THIS! APPARENTLY FORD KNOWS OF THESE COMPLAINTS AND DOES NOTHING! PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL!! BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED! *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD NOISE FROM THE REAR OF HER VEHICLE. SHE DISCOVERED THAT THE COIL SPRINGS FAILED, WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A CRASH. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE GOODYEAR AND THEY REPLACED THE REAR COIL SPRINGS AND THE STRUTS AT THE COST OF $976. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO MY MECHANIC BECAUSE MY TIRE WAS SHREDDED. LATER I FOUND OUT THAT THE TIRE SHREDDED DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE REAR COIL SPRINGS. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT THE FRONT WAS ALSO IN POOR CONDITION AND SHOULD NOT DRIVE THE CAR MUCH LONGER. I CALLED FORD AND THEY TOLD ME THE FRONT WAS UNDER RECALL. I DROPPED HE CAR OFF TO STONEHAM FORD WHO TOLD ME THAT SINCE THEY WERE NOT CURRENTLY "FRACTURED" THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THEM. THEY WOULD NOT TELL ME THE CURRENT CONDITION YET MY MECHANIC STATES THEY ARE IN VERY POOR CONDITION. FORD CONTINUED TO SAY THAT SINCE THEY ARE NOT FRACTURED AND NO ONE HAS YET BEEN HURT, THEY ARE NOT REPLACING THEM. NO ONE HAS BEEN KILLED YET.*TR

DRIVING MY 2001 FORD TAURUS AND REALIZED I HAD A FLAT. MY HUSBAND CAME TO GET ME AND NOTICED THAT MY REAR TIRE WAS SHREDDED AND MY REAR SPRINGS BROKE AND THE JAGGED METAL SHREDDED MY TIRE. I CALLED FORD WHO TOLD ME IT WAS COVERED UNDER SOMETHING LIKE A RECALL, BUT NOT AN ACTUAL RECALL. WE DROP CAR OFF, I THEN GET A CALL SAYING IT WILL BE $736!!! THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID HE DIDN'T REALIZE IT WAS MY REAR TIRE (NOT FRONT) WHEN HE TOLD ME IT WOULD BE 100% COVERED. WHY ISN'T IT COVERED IF ALL THESE COMPLAINTS AND THEY ARE COVERING FRONT. MY CAR HAS A LITTLE MORE THAN 40,000 MILES ON IT. THIS WAS AFTER SPENDING $1200 ON AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM LAST SUMMER AND $600 FOR HEATER PROBLEMS THIS WINTER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 FORD TAURUS. WHILE DRIVING 5 MPH AND TURNING LEFT OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE COIL SPRING FAILED AND PUNCTURED THE PASSENGER SIDE TIRE. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE WHEN THE REAR TIRE BLEW MAKING THE CAR UNDRIVABLE. IT WAS TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHO FOUND THAT BOTH OF THE REAR SPRINGS HAD SNAPPED. I WAS TOLD THAT HAD HE BEEN TRAVELING AT A HIGHER SPEED HE MOST ASSUREDLY WOULD HAVE EITHER BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED. THE COST OF THE REPAIR SO FAR HAS TOTALED ALMOST $900 DOLLARS. FORD HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THEY KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND MY FRONT SPRINGS ARE ALSO ABOUT TO SNAP. FORD STATED THAT THE FRONT SPRINGS ARE RECALLED BUT THE REAR ARE NOT BECAUSE THERE HAVE NOT BEEN ANY FATALITIES YET. I HOPE THAT IT DOES NOT TAKE A DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY TO GET FORD OR THE NHSTA TO MAKE FORD OWN UP TO ITS RESPONSIBILITY. *TR
MY MOST RECENT CONTACT WITH FORD WAS HIGHLY UNPLEASANT AND DISCOURAGING. I OWN A 2001 FORD TAURUS WITH 80,000 MILES THAT HAD 2 FRONT COIL SPRINGS AND 1 REAR COIL SPRING BREAK. I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE TO INQUIRE WHAT I NEEDED TO DO REGARDING THE RECALL ON THE COIL SPRINGS; I GAVE MY VIN # TO THE AGENT AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS CAR DOES NOT HAVE ANY RECALLS AND FORD COULD NOT OFFER ME ANY SERVICE FOR THE BROKEN SPRINGS. I THEN CONTACTED AIRPORT FORD IN FLORENCE, KY AND EXPLAINED WHAT I WAS TOLD BY FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THE 3 BROKEN COIL SPRINGS, THEY TOLD ME I COULD NOT BE HELPED SINCE FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE SAID THAT THERE WAS NOT ANY RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE. RECALL 04V332000 RECALLED THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS AND EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 10 YEARS OR 150,000 MILE, WHICH THIS CAR IS STILL COVERED. RATHER THAN CONTINUE DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE, I DECIDED TO GET THE CAR FIXED. I HAD THE COIL SPRINGS, WHEEL BEARINGS, BALL JOINTS, TIE RODS, DRIVE SHAFTS, AND ROTORS REPLACED ON THIS CAR. THE 2 BROKEN FRONT COIL SPRINGS DESTROYED EACH OF THESE COMPONENTS BY PLACING UNNECESSARY STRESS ON THESE COMPONENTS. THE REAR COIL SPRING WAS INCHES AWAY FROM PUNCTURING THE TIRE OF THIS VEHICLE; THIS WAS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. I BELIEVE THAT AT A MINIMUM THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY FORD DUE TO THE RECALL AND EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THESE FRACTURED SPRINGS; THIS COST ME $343.12. I FEEL THAT FORD SHOULD COVER THE TOTAL COST OF THIS REPAIR TO MAKE THIS VEHICLE WHOLE AGAIN AT MY COST OF $986.28. FORD MOTOR COMPANY'S RESPONSE TO THIS COMPLAINT WILL MAKE OR BREAK OUR MUTUAL RELATIONSHIP. I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING YOUR RESPONSE AND HOPE A MUTUAL AGREEMENT CAN BE REACHED. *TR
2001 FORD TAURUS. MARCH 09, 68,000 MILES DRIVERS FRONT COIL SPRING BREAKS AND CUTS TIRE DOWN. JULY 09, 78,000 MILES MECHANIC FINDS BOTH REAR COIL SPRINGS SIMILARLY BROKEN. I HAD TO REPLACE ALL 4 SPRINGS, STRUTS AND 1 TIRE. LUCKILY, THE CAR WAS NOT BEING DRIVEN WHEN SPRINGS BROKE ON FRONT END. DONT KNOW WHEN THE REARS BROKE, BUT SOMETIME IN THE LAST 10K MILES OR THE 4 WHEEL ALIGNMENT WOULD HAVE DISCOVERED THE BROKEN REAR SPRINGS IN MARCH 09. *TR

THE GAS PEDDLE ON MY 2001 TAURUS HAS BEEN STICKING FOR ABOUT THE PAST THREE YEARS. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO AUTO REPAIR SHOPS AND ALWAYS ASK FOR IT TO BE LOOKED AT WHEN OTHER REPAIRS ARE NEEDED. HOWEVER, NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT THE STICKING. I AM AFRAID THAT IT WILL STAY IN A STUCK POSITION WHILE DRIVING SO I AM EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS. LATELY IT SEEMS TO HAVE GOTTEN WORSE ESPECIALLY IN THE COLDER WEATHER. I REALIZE THE CAR IS OVER 10 YEARS OLD, BUT THIS IS A REAL HAZARD. *TR
I OWN A 2001 FORD TAURUS. APPROXIMATELY 2 YEARS AGO, I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND HEARD SOMETHING DROP FROM MY CAR (AT A SPEED OF 20 MPH). I STOPPED MY VEHICLE AND WALKED DOWN THE ROAD TO FIND, WHAT APPEARED TO BE A PART FROM MY VEHICLE. MY HUSBAND LOOKED AT IT, AND WOULDN'T YOU KNOW, IT WAS MY FRONT COIL THAT HAD BUSTED. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPAIRED IT SINCE THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE FRONT COILS. LAST WEEK, I WAS ON THE FREEWAY AND I HEARD SOMETHING METAL-LIKE FALL OFF MY VEHICLE AND MY CAR FISHTAILED (ABOUT 55 MPH). I STOPPED THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND FOUND THAT A COIL HAD BUSTED YET AGAIN. THIS TIME, THE COIL THAT BROKE WAS FROM THE REAR AND GOOD OLD FORD ADVISED THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THE REAR COILS---JUST THE FRONT!ARE YOU KIDDING ME? SO, IN SHORT, THERE IS AN APPARENT PROBLEM WITH THE COILS ON THE 2001 FORD TAURUS. I HAVE READ THROUGH ABOUT 200 COMPLAINTS THUS FAR AND DECIDED THAT SOMETHING AS TO BE WRONG WITH THESE COILS AND I FEEL THAT IT'S THE COMPANIES RESPONSIBILITIES TO RESOLVE THESE ISSUES. 2001 FORD TAURUS HAS A BROKEN REAR COIL SPRING. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS ARE COVERED UNDER AN EXTENDED RECALL DUE TO A CORROSION/HIGH FAILURE RATE ISSUE. WHY AREN'T THE REAR COIL SPRINGS COVERED BY THIS RECALL? *TR
FORD HAS A WARANTY REPLACEMENT ON THIER FRONT SPRINGS FOR A FORD TAURUS BUT NOT ON THIER BACK SPRINGS, I OWN A 2001 FORD TAURUS WITH 83,000 MILES AND THE BOTH BACK SPRINGS ARE BROKE AND IT WAS CLOSE TO PUNTURING THE REAR TIRE, IF THE FRONT SPRINGS BREAK AND ARE COVERD BUT NOT THE BACKS ONE IS'NT IT A SAFETY ISSUE AS WELL. *TR
A NOISE FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE LEAD ME TO LOOK AND FIND MY REAR COIL SPRINGS ON BOTH SIDES ARE BROKEN. I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A RECALL ON THE FRONTS, BUT NOT THE REARS, WHICH MAKES NO SENSE. FROM OTHER COMPLAINTS I'VE READ, I'M PRETTY LUCKY. MINE BROKE NEAR THE BASE, AND CAUSED NO FURTHER DAMAGE, BUT MANY APPARENTLY BREAK IN THE MIDDLE AND DESTROY THE TIRE. HE TOOK HIS VEHICLE IN FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND THEY CONFIRMED THE FAILURE. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE REAR COIL SPRINGS AT THE COST OF $1,200. THE CONTACT CALLED THE FORD MANUFACTURER AND THEY STATED THAT THEY DO NOT COVER THE REAR SPRINGS OF THE VEHICLE, ONLY THE FRONT SPRINGS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000. I AM SENDING THIS ON BEHALF OF MY FATHER WHO DOES NOT HAVE INTERNET ACCESS. HE OWNS A 2001 FORD TAURUS THAT IS PRIMARILY DRIVEN BY MY MOTHER AND ONLY HAS 26000 MILES ON IT. A FEW DAYS AGO WHEN HE WAS CLEANING OUT HIS GARAGE HE FOUND A PIECE OF METAL ON FLOOR WHICH HE BELIEVED WAS FROM THE CAR. AFTER TAKING THE VEHICLE TO HIS LOCAL MECHANIC HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR COIL SPRING WAS BROKEN AND NEEDED REPLACED. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ON YOUR WEBSITE I FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL ON THE FRONT SPRINGS BUT NOT THE REAR. I ALSO CHECKED WITH THE DEALER WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING ABOUT THE RECALL FOR THE FRONT BUT NOT THE REAR. I ASKED THE DEALER WHY THERE WOULD NOT BE A RECALL FOR THE REAR AND ACCORDING TO HIM HE THINKS THERE SHOULD BE BUT FORD HAS NOT RELEASED ONE AS OF YET. BOTH REAR SPRINGS AND SWAG END LINKS HAD TO BE REPLACED THE CORRECT THE ISSUE AT A COST OF ABOUT $500. THIS WHOLE SITUATION IS A LITTLE DISHEARTENING SINCE THE VEHICLE HAS SUCH LOW MILEAGE, IS A 1 OWNER, VERY WELL MAINTAINED AND HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT SINCE IT WAS NEW. *TR

2001 FORD TAURUS, 112,000 MILES. DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH ON HIGHWAY INTERCHANGE, HEARD LOUD BANG AND CAR PULLED LEFT AND I GAINED CONTROL AND STOPPED. FOUND LEFT FRONT COIL SPRING BROKE PUNCTURING LEFT TIRE. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR. FORD WILL COVER COST OF FRONT SPRINGS REPLACEMENT. DEALERSHIP CALLED AND SAID RIGHT SPRING WAS BROKEN ALSO AND TRANSMISSION PAN WAS ALSO PUNCTURED FROM BROKEN SPRING AND NEEDED REPLACED. FORD WILL NOT COVER COST TO PAY FOR PUNCTURED TIRE OR TRANSMISSION PAN PLUS FLUID. TIRE HAD AROUND 300 MILE ON IT. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 04V106000, EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS, SWITCH IS RELATED TO THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 99,900.
BROKEN COIL SPRINGS IN FRONT AND REAR OF VEHICLE. *TR
THE FAILURE IS A BROKEN LEFT REAR SPRING, REQUIRING REPLACEMENT OF BOTH REAR SPRINGS. THE OLD PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. I WOULD NOT SAY THAT THE BROKEN SPRING IN MY PARTICULAR CASE CAUSED IMMEDIATE DANGER AS THE SPRING WAS STILL IN THE SPRING SEAT, HOWEVER IT IS CAUSE TO FAIL A PA STATE SAFETY INSPECTION, AND COULD HAVE BECOME DANGEROUS IF THE SPRING WAS NOT REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD 99,600 MILES AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. I CAN'T PINPOINT ANY SPECIFIC EVENTS OTHER THAN ALMOST 100,000 MILES OF USE IN THE SALT BELT. IT IS A COMMON FAILURE ON THE TAURUS, AND MINE BROKE LATER THAN MANY OTHERS. THE FRONT SPRINGS (WHICH HAVE NOT BROKEN ON MY CAR) ARE COVERED UNDER RECALL...THE REARS SHOULD BE AS WELL. *TR
I BOUGHT MY 2001 FORD TAURUS USED, IN 2004 IT HAS BEEN A GOOD CAR UNTIL 2008 WHEN IT STARTED SHAKING IN THE FRONT END. I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A RACK AND PINION, SO I HAD THAT REPLACED AND PAID THROUGH THE NOSE. I NOTICED THAT AFTER INSTALLING FOUR BRAND NEW TIRES ON MY 2001 FORD TAURUS, THAT THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT DRAMATICALLY WHILE DRIVING. THE ALIGNMENT WAS JUST DONE AS WELL. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT COILS WHICH FORD WILL FIX NO CHARGE UNDER 04M04 CUSTOMER SATISFACTION GUARANTEE BUT IT DOES NOT COVER THE REAR SPRINGS. IN THE EVENT OF THE BACK SPRING WORKING IT'S WAY TO THE TIRE THERE HAS BEEN REAR TIRE BLOWOUTS WITH EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE ITSELF AND A DANGER TO THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE SERVICE MANAGER SAID HE THINKS THERE SHOULD BE A MANDATORY RECALL BUT HE DID NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY TO MAKE THAT DECISION AND REFERRED ME TO YOU. THE COST TO MY MOTHER WHICH IS ON A FIXED BUDGET IS 600.00 AND SHE CANNOT AFFORD IT. THE SERVICE MANGER ADVISED HER TO GET IT FIXED BEFORE IT CAUSED NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WHICH WOULD NOT BE COVERED EVEN THOUGH THE DAMAGE OCCURRED FROM THE BROKEN COIL SPRING. CONSUMER REQUEST A RECALL ON REAR COIL SPRINGS ON 2001 FORD TAURUS AND MERCURY SABLE VEHICLES *TGW THE CONSUMERS SON WAS INVOLVED IN A FATAL ACCIDENT DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE REAR COIL SPRINGS.
