NHTSA Owner Complaint Log
This page lists owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA for the 2011 GMC Acadia. Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA and do not by themselves prove a defect or defect rate.
Data synced from NHTSA on May 4, 2026
We purchased the vehicle on August 20, 2025. At which time we paid over $4,800 for the vehicle. I will be trying to submit all files pertaining to the vehicle. We are both disabled and on the fixed income from ssi. However, a week after purchasing the vehicle all issues began to rise up. There was no transmission fluid, the oil need changed, catalytic converter showed up on AutoZone print out, wheels to make a sound when turning, brakes needs fixed, electrical seems to have an issue. The reason I am submitting this is in prayer asking for any remedy with this situation through the recalls, bulletins, and whatever else maybe available for the vehicle. I thank you for your time, effort, and consideration in this matter.

Transmission shudder from torque converter
My air bag light keeps coming on saying to service it. I saw the recalled issues before with the other Acadias and was thinking maybe my year model would need to be looked into as well. I haven't ever had a wreck for them to come out but the light comes on frequently.
Tailgate system has failed causing tailgate to force closed after opening halfway. Risk of being pinned between the car and tailgate. Similar to previous recall POWER LIFTGATE PROP ROD RECOVERY, gate is not being controlled or caught.
System failed from wear on the rear ac hose from the power steering hose rubbing on it. Creating a leak in my ac system
Not sure but the ex owner of the vehicle told me the it had a recall on the drivers seatbelt (wasn’t due to a car accident)
The engine light came on. Had a mobile mechanic look at it, he ran a diagnostics, it showed a P0017 code. He advised to get another opinion on how to repair, as he said it may need a new engine. Took it to a local repair shop, was told the same thing. The Acadia runs fine, and only has 116K miles. The problem is that it will not pass the required emission test for annual registration and tag. The cost of a new engine was estimated at about $10K, which is more than the Acadia is worth. Was told that these vehicles have had a history of this same issue.
2011 gmc Acadia slt gear shift does not lock causing it to slip into neutral with slightest bump of shifter or sudden hard breaking Also passenger seat belt does not.lock at all when breaking and driver side seat belt never unlocks there are safty recalls on these issues for this model but.says mine has zero unfixed recall also defrosting and mirror defrost does not work properly causing me to have very bad visibility I had a close call when driving in Houston a week ago when I had to slam breaks due to a crazy driver who did not see me.and cut me off the lane my gear shifted into neutral causing me to not be able to accelerate after breaking to avoid the next speeding car fortunately I was lucky and was able to quickly shift back into drive and go there are electrical issues as well and there has only been one other owner and well maintained so I don't know what to do next my passenger nearly hit dash during this that's when I realized passenger seat belt does not lock
DRLs melted into the housing, seems like this is possibly caused by cowls that are not properly sealed allowing moisture into headlight assembly. This is obviously a fire hazard and will be a costly repair. I am not sure if vehicle insurance covers this but I doubt it.
LOOKING INTO A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT I FOUND I HAD A MISFIRE IN A FEW CYLINDERS. LOOKING INTO IT I FOUND OIL IN MY SPARK PLUG TUBES, MY COILS WERE PERFECTLY DRY AND THE TOP OF THE TUBES WERE DRY AS WELL. LOOKING INTO THIS ISSUE I FOUND MULTIPLE TSB FORMS FOR THE ISSUE STATING THERE WAS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT IN THE HEAD. IT SAYS IT EFFECTS ALL VINS FOR ALL YEARS AS THEY USE THE SAME ENGINE.
Looses power while driving. Cannot jump the battery it needs to be recharged every time. Power steering stops working while driving( low rpm and when stopped) dangerous for merging or lane changes. Engine shudders when trying to accelerate. TCM/ ECM replaced 2020. Problem still persists. Whining noise upon start of the vehicle. Auto start will not work. traction control light, check engine airbag and
POWER STEERING RACK & HIGH PRESSURE POWER STEERING LINE. IF THIS FAILS WHILE YOU'RE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY YOU WILL LOSE POWER STEERING CAUSING A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. ALSO THE TIMING COVER IS LEAKING. BOTH OF THESE EXPENSIVE REPAIRS SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH ALL GMC ACADIA SUV'S YET THE NHTSA HAS NOT INVESTIGATED OR REQUIRED THE MANUFACTURER TO DO A RECALL AND COVER THE COSTS OF REPAIR. COSTS FOR BOTH REPAIRS IS $5000.00 !!!
The contact owns a 2011 GMC Acadia. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, she heard an abnormal noise from the rear passenger side tire. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer but was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
Hi, I think the 2011 Acadia Denali should be in the recall along with the Terrain. The reason being that I always get flashed at night and every night as though I have the high lights on which I don’t. That’s every night. Please check into this. With all this road rage going on I worry I might come across one angry person or cause someone to wreck. Please I’m worried. Thank you.
I had issue with the timing chain an have check engine light is on I have heard other people having problems with there timing chain. It starts hard. I've had it looked at multiple times. I feel like this is a safety concern. It has low miles on it
While driving down the road, transmission will shudder and have difficulty maintaining constant speed. This is especially dangerous while merging on to the highway. It is searching for the gear to be in while rpms are fluctuating.
seatbelt locks and does not release
Upon starting our vehicle to leave the breaks were very hard to compress. They did eventually release but made a whooshing noise as though there is someone blowing air from the brake pedal. There is no damage or leaking from the break line or the master cylinder. This could lead to failure of the breaks and it is concerning. This vehicle is available upon request to inspect. This has not currently be confirmed by a dealer or service center, or others that would inspect vechicles. There are no warning laps or messages presenting. 11/23/21 is the first day that this occured.
I had a collision with a deer and my airbags did not deploy
The steering randomly gets tight and then let's loose while driving or turning.
I was driving on a busy freeway, my car lost power and became very slow at only 20mph. Almost got rear ended, luckily I was able to pull over. Then check engine light came on. My engine failed and had to tow it. Mechanic said faulty timing chains destroyed my engine. Bought a used engine and is costing me over $4,000. I was lucky not to get killed. GM knows there’s a timing chains issues with these engines. People have complained about this costly and dangerous problem. They should recall and pay for the repairs. There was no warning for me until it was too late.
On July 27 at 400 pm I arrived home and my daughter went to take out the trash and I heard her scream daddy the car is on fire. I rushed outside and flames were 6 ft tall I called 911. After putting the fire out he stated th car was running doors locked so they couldn’t open the hood
Accordingly, the said vehicle first manifested a dangerous defect issue on July 14, 2021, while traveling out of town. A significant and abrupt reduction of power completely disabled the vehicle while parking in a parking space .Despite several attempts, the vehicle still fail to start. Only to notice the engine light illuminating and flashing repeatedly. At the same time the dashboard indicated a faulty reading of fuel and oil. This is a very serious and frightened situation because I received absolutely no warning before the vehicle shut down. Without reason of doubt, I do believe it is unsafe, extremely dangerous and is potentially a hazardous situation that should be investigated. Fortunately, I was in a parking lot went the problem occurred. Whereas, if the vehicle engine stopped abruptly in the mist of traffic it could have resulted with a different outcome. On July 16th the vehicle was towed to a certified GMC dealership for further inspection. Hours later, I received the service contract and a follow up call from the dealership given that the diagnostic is the Engine Control Module (ECM) and needs to be replaced. Surprisingly, to my dismay I was advised that General Motors no longer make the part and the Service Center is not sure when and if the part will be available. As of today, July 26th, no one has taken the necessary steps to remediate my situation. I have already attempted to resolve this problem by contacting the Manufacturer directly. Yet, no information on when a resolution will be made. I have been a loyal customer for several years and currently seeking answers.
Vehicle stopped turning, steering to turn and driver ran off the road.
The contact owns a 2011 GMC Acadia. The contact stated upon starting the vehicle, the steering wheel became difficult to turn. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that he used his knowledge of vehicles to depress the accelerator pedal, which raised the RPM and caused the steering wheel to become operative. The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring while the vehicle was idling. Additionally, the contact stated that the steering wheel would seize while driving and steering to the left. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rack and pinion had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 174,300.
I was driving on the freeway then my car suddenly started slowing down. I tried changing lane so i can pull over on the side of the freeway but unfortunately i couldn't get to pull over before the car completely stopped on the freeway. I called AAA. They sent a tow truck which came to the freeway to tow my car. My husband came and took me to work. The car was towed to a GMC dealership. I went to the dealership after work. I was told my car has timing chain problem and if not fixed will damage the engine. I went online to read reviews of this car only to see it was a very common problem for this year and model of GMC which if i have ever read those reviews i would not have bought a GMC. This vehicle should be recalled for this issue.
Had to replace transmission. I waa sowing down to come to a stop and the car shuts off in the road while I am turning into a drive way. After getting a new gmc transmission,My speedometer is moving back and forth again. The vehicle shutters while in park. These are some of the same signs from last time.
The contact owns a 2011 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the subframe underneath the driver’s side felt loose and not properly aligned. The contact merged to the right lane and continued to drive the vehicle. The contact stated that her son and daughter drove the vehicle and noticed the failure as well. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to a local Pep Boys who replaced all four tires and performed a 4-wheel alignment; however, the failure had been reoccurring and was more noticeable while making turns and driving around curves. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.
I HAVE HAD THIS 2011 ARCADIA FOR LESS THEN A MONTH. THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM ASSURED ME THAT THE ONLY ISSUE IT HAD WAS IT NEEDED A NEW A/C CONDENSER. ( PERMANENT CODES, P0008, P0332, P0017 ) (PENDING CODES P0161, P0332, P0017 ) ( STORED CODES, P0332, P0008 ) SEVERE URGENCY REPLACE TIMING CHAINS AND RELATED COMPONENTS, T CHAIN X1 T CHAIN X1 T CHAIN X2 TIMING TENSIONER X1 X1 X1 X1. I HAVENT EVEN BEEN ABLE TO DRIVE IT AND THE SOLD ME THE CAR ON FALSE PRETENSES. THEY WONT HELP ME WITH FIXING IT, THEY WONT EVEN FIX THE A/C CONDENSER. IM GOING THROUGH A DIVORCE AND I PUT THE ONLY MONEY I HAD INTO THIS CAR. I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO.
THE CAR IT'S EQUIPPED WITH A POWER LIFTGATE AND GAS STRUTS THAT HOLD THE POWER LIFT GATE WHEN THE REAR TRUNK GATE IS OPENED, IN MY CAR THE STRUTS CLOSE PREMATURELY AN THE OPEN LIFTGATE SUDDENLY CLOSES AND CAUSING INJURY
WAS DRIVING MY CAR. GOT OFF I-79 TO GET GAS. GOT BACK IN MY CAR AND IT WOULDN'T START. HAD TO GET A JUMP. IT STARTED. STARTED DRIVING (ABOUT 4 MILES) ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STARTED MAKING A NOISE FROM THE MOTOR. IT NEVER GAVE ME A WARNING, NO NOISE OR ANYTHING BEFORE THIS. IT RAN PERFECTLY. I'M SO DISGUSTED. THEY'RE SAYING ALMOST $5000.00 WITH PARTS AND LABOR WITH A USED MOTOR. THE BEARING SPUN, THE ROLLER ROCKER BROKE OFF TIMING CHAIN, AND SOMETHING ELSE. HMM A USED MOTOR. YOU DO KNOW A USED MOTOR WILL FALL INTO THAT CATEGORY AGAIN!! I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC WHERE IT STILL SITS. I UPKEPT THE OIL BEFORE IT WAS DUE. IT HAS 138,706 MILES I NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR AT ALL . GM I HOPE YOU DO US RIGHT BECAUSE WE STOOD BY YOU AND TRUSTED YOU!
TOOK CAR IN FOR OIL CHANGE. GOT IT BACK AND FRONT STRUTS WERE STUCK EXTENDED. TOOK BACK NEXT DAY SAID THEY WERE BAD. WE' REPLACED ON 2/02/2018 WITH 72945 MILES WITH GM REPLACEMENT PART NUMBER 22902412. COULD EASILY LOSE CONTROL. HAD TO LOWER TIRE PRESSURES TO GET BACK TO DEALER. REPLACED AGAIN ON 10/1/2020. WHAT KEEPS FROM HAPPENING AGAIN?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START DUE TO WATER LEAKING IN FROM THE WINDSHIELD OR THE FIREWALL FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE ONTO THE FLOORBOARD UNDERNEATH THE FUSE BOX. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHEN THE KEY WAS REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION, THE ENGINE REMAINED RUNNING. THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED INDICATING THERE WAS NO COMMUNICATION WITH THE KEYFOB. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS A CERTIFIED MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT CALLED CARL BLACK CHEVROLET BUICK GMC (11500 E. COLONIAL DR, ORLANDO, FL 32817), AND INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT A FEE WOULD BE ASSESSED FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST TO BE PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 138,000.
AT 89,000 THE "SERVICE ALL WHEEL DRIVE" LIGHT CAME ON SEVERAL TIMES ON DASH. MECHANIC STATES THAT "REAR DIFFERENTIAL DRUM" NEEDS TO BE REPLACED IN ORDER FOR VEHICLE'S ALL WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM TO OPERATE PROPERLY.
MY CAR HAS TROUBLE STARTING OFTEN SOMETIT TAKES ALMOST AN HOUR TO GET IT STARTED JUMP STARTING IT DOES NOTHING BATTERY TESTED GOOD ONLY A CLICK AS IF BATTERY IS DEAD BUT STILL NOTHING
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V415000 (STRUCTURE) AT ED BOZARTH CHEVROLET #1 BUICK GMC CADILLAC (3731 SW TOPEKA BLVD, TOPEKA, KS 66609) IN 2016. THE CONTACT STATED THAT RECENTLY THE BOLT THAT CONNECTED THE TRUNK SHOCK TO THE LIFTGATE FRACTURED AND DETACHED UPON OPENING THE LIFTGATE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE SAME DEALER TO RETRIEVE A REPLACEMENT BOLT. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WOULD TAKE A FEW DAYS TO ARRIVE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,321.
WHILE SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, MY ENGINE TURNED OFF AND WOULD NOT RESTART. UP UNTIL THAT POINT THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING FINE. I WAS FORTUNATE THAT I WAS ON A SECONDARY ROAD MAKING A LEFT TURN AT A SLOW SPEED WHEN THE ENGINE STOPPED. HOWEVER, HAD THIS HAPPENED 10 MINUTES EARLIER I WOULD HAVE BEEN ATOP A VERY HIGH BRIDGE AND WOULD HAVE BEEN TRAVELING AT ABOUT 65 MILES PER HOUR WHICH IS THE POSTED SPEED FOR I-295. HAD THE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING ON THIS BRIDGE I HAVE NO DOUBT THAT THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES. MY VEHICLE COULD HAVE GONE OVER THE RAILING AND PLUNGED 300+ FEET DOWN INTO THE RIVER. OR POSSIBLY OTHER VEHICLE TRAFFIC COULD HAVE CRASHED INTO ME CAUSING UNTOLD DAMAGE AND INJURY OR POSSIBLY SOMEONE'S DEATH. FORTUNATELY I WAS IN A SAFER AREA WHEN THE VEHICLE STOPPED RUNNING. I HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED AND THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE REPAIRED AT MY DEALER. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING. ENGINES SHOULD NOT SIMPLY TURN OFF AND STOP RUNNING BECAUSE OF SOME ELECTRONIC CONTROL PART. THIS IS A HAZARDOUS SITUATION AND I'M SURE THAT OTHER PEOPLE ARE PROBABLY EXPERIENCING SIMILAR SITUATIONS. I DON'T BELIEVE THIS IS SOMETHING UNIQUE TO MY VEHICLE, BUT ALL NEWER AND LATE MODEL VEHICLES. IT IS DANGEROUS TO THINK THAT THE AUTO INDUSTRY HAS EMPLOYED SUCH A DANGEROUS ENGINEERING AND DEVICE THAT COULD CAUSE THE DEATH OF SOMEONE. I APPRECIATE YOUR HELP REVIEWING THIS SITUATION FOR ALL THE PEOPLE.
The contact owns a 2011 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the steering wheel would shake uncontrollably without warning while driving at various speeds. She also stated that the steering wheel would lock in the middle of turning the steering wheel in either direction without warning. After taking the vehicle to the dealer for routine maintenance, several warning lights appeared on the instrument panel. The contact called that dealer and was informed that the vehicle would reset itself upon restart; however, the failure persisted. A few days later, the Push to Start button failed to operate after multiple attempts and the key was used to start the vehicle. The contact had the vehicle towed back to the dealer and she was informed that the purge valve was defective and needed to be replaced. The manufacturer informed her that there were no recalls on the vehicle and referred her to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE COOLANT SENSOR WAS REPLACED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY TWO ADDITIONAL UNKNOWN MECHANICS BUT NOT REPAIRED. NEITHER THE DEALER NOR THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
STABILITRAK ALWAYS REPORTS OFF AND BRAKE WARNING ALWAYS DISPLAYS ON DASHBOARD, WHILE ON OR RUNNING. HAD IT LOOKED AT BY 4 MECHANICS. BREAKS ARE FINE. ENGINE WONT START AFTER EVERYTIME I PUMP GAS. I HAVE TO PUMP ACCELERATOR SEVRAL TIMES FOR ENGINE TO START. HAD IT LOOKED AT AGAIN. PROBLEM IS ONGOING. ALSO, SLOWED DOWN ON ONE OCCASION WHILE DRIVING ON THE HWY. HAD TO PULL OVER SINCE ACCELERATOR WOULD NOT FUNCTION. AFTER 30MINS OR SO. WAS ABLE TO RESTART.
MY INTERIOR DOME LIGHTS EITHER FLICKER OR DON'T COME ON AT ALL THERE ARE 3 SETS AND NONE OF THE WORK PROPERLY AT ANY TIME. *TR
IN MY 2011 GMC ACADIA SLT1 THE HEADLIGHTS SPECIFICALLY THE LOW BEAMS ARE VERY DIM REGARDLESS OF THE BULB BECAUSE I HAVE TRIED ALL FROM THE LOWEST PRICED TO THE MOST EXPENSIVE. WHILE USING THE HIGH BEAMS THERE APPEARS TO BE A SHADOW IN THE SHAPE OF MICKEY MOUSE'S HEAD IN THE CENTRAL AREA OF VISION. *TR
THIS ALL BEGAN AT ABOUT 75000 MILES. IT FIRST STARTED WITH THE STABILIZATION/TRACTION LIGHT COMING ON WHILE DRIVING ONCE THIS HAPPENED YOU COULD NOT ACCELERATE THE CAR. I ONCE WAS ON A HIGHWAY IN THE MIDDLE LANE WHEN IT HAPPENED I COULD NOT ACCELERATE AND HAD TO TRY TO GET OVER TO THE BREAK DOWN LANE. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BUT THEN TURNED INTO A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PROBLEM. WHILE DRIVING THE BATTERY WOULD START TO DIE WITH NO WARNING. WHEN THIS HAPPENS YOU CAN NOT JUMP THE CAR YOU HAVE TO BRING THE BATTERY TO BE CHARGED ON A CHARGER. ALTHOUGH THE CAR WON'T START THE OTHER THINGS LIKE LIGHTS, RADIO, ETC WILL STILL WORK. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BUT ONCE THE WEATHER WAS WARM IT RAN PERFECT FOR 4 MONTHS. THE FIRST DAY IT WAS EXTREMELY COLD THE BATTERY DIED WHILE DRIVING. I ALSO HAD A HEADLIGHT GO OUT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND ABOUT 3 WEEKS LATER IT CAME BACK ON AND STAYED ON. I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO SEVERAL PLACES BUT NOBODY HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. I CAN'T KEEP SPENDING MONEY TO GET IT DIAGNOSED WITH NO RESULTS. AFTER RESEARCHING ONLINE IT SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN THE ACADIA.
I HAVE A 2011 ACADIA DENALI WITH FACTORY XENON HID LIGHTS. BOTH DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT HOUSINGS AND CONNECTORS HAVE MELTED. THE PASSENGER SIDE BULB HAS MELTED ITSELF TO THE SOCKET ITSELF. THE HOUSING HAS MELTED AND CRACKED. BOTH ARE NO LONGER REFLECTIVE OR FUNCTIONAL AS DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A ISSUE FOR ALL ACADIAS. A FIRE IS INEVITABLE.
THE LIFTGATE UNEXPECTEDLY FALLS. WHEN IT OPENS, IT OPENS ALL THE WAY, THEN IT WILL UNEXPECTEDLY FALL AT TIMES.
IT HAS HAPPEN TO ME WHEN MY VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND WHEN I GO ABOVE 65 MILES PH. THE GMC STARTS TO HEAT UP AND SENDS A MESSAGE ON THE DISPLAY SAYING TRANSMISSION IS HOT A LOT OF SMOKE COMES OUT AND THE SPEED DECREASES COMPLETELY I HAVE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND PARK IN THE STREET UNTIL IT COOLS OFF WHAT IS DANGEROUS IS THAT IT HAS HAPPEN WHEN I'M IN THE HIGH WAY PUTTING ME AT RISK TO CRASH I MADE SOME FIXES ONE TIME THE MECHANIC CHARGED ME ABOUT $500 DOLLARS TO FIX IT NOW IS DOING IT AGAIN AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME ABOUT A $1000 DOLLARS MORE I HAVE BEEN HAVING A LOT OF ISSUES WITH THE GMC SINCE I GOT IT AND I ONLY HAVE LIKE BETWEEN 9 TO 11 MONTHS WITH THE GMC HOPEFULLY I COULD GET HELP SO THEY COULD FIX IT BY THE COMPANY AT NO EXTRA CHARGE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE CAUGHT ON FIRE AS IT TRIED TO ENTER THE INTERSTATE FROM A RAMP. THE CONTACT AND HER PASSENGER QUICKLY EXITED THE VEHICLE AFTER SHE PULLED OFF TO THE SHOULDER. THE COMPLETE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED BY THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE CONTACT WAS THE ONLY ONE TRANSPORTED TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM AND WAS GIVEN A CAT SCAN. THERE WERE NO OTHER INJURIES .THE CONTACT HAD NOT SPOKEN TO THE DEALER OR MANUFACTURER SINCE THE INCIDENT OCCURRED BACK IN 10/2019. THE CONTACT JUST RECEIVED HER VIN FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY SINCE THE FIRE DESTROYED ALL TRACES OF THE VIN ON THE VEHICLE. THE INSURANCE COMPANY DID NOT TOTAL THE VEHICLE SINCE IT ONLY HAD LIABILITY COVERAGE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,000.
I WAS TRAVELING TO DAYTONA FL FROM OHIO FOR VACATION. THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING AND AS I GOT OFF THE EXIT FOR DAYTONA THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT I BARELY MADE IT TO MY RENTAL. I HAD NO EXTRA MONEY AND CAN NOT RENT A CAR BECAUSE I HAVE NO MAJOR CREDUT CARD. SO I HAD TO TAKE OUT A LOAN FOR 3200.00 FOR A1 TRANSMISSION SHOP TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 GMC ACADIA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND ALL THE GAUGES ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT TO ZERO AND THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO LOCATED EIGHTEEN DIFFERENT ERROR CODES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO MOORE BUICK GMC (2445 N MARINE BLVD, JACKSONVILLE, NC 28546), BUT THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FUSES BLEW OUT EVERY TIME THE KEY WAS TURNED IN THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND WAS STILL AT THE DEALER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 166,000.
