I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK FROM A USED CAR DEALERSHIP IN BLAIR, NE WASHINGTON COUNTY. THE DEALERSHIP SOLD THIS TRUCK TO ME WITH REPLACED AIRBAGS THAT DIDN'T WORK. THEY REPLACED THE ORIGINAL FACTORY AIR BAGS WITH WHAT NOW ARE MARKED CHEVROLET AND NOT GMC ACCORDING TO MECHANICAL SHOP. SAME MECHANIC EXPRESSED TO ME THAT THIS TRUCK WAS IN ACCIDENT THAT NOT ONLY BENT THE FRAME BUT ALSO CAUSED THE ORIGINAL AIR BAGS TO DEPLOY. WHEN I PICKED UP TRUCK AFTER SALE I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP OWNER WHY THE LIGHT WAS ON, HE SAID HIS MECHANIC COULD FIX IT. HIS MECHANIC COULD ONLY WORK MONDAY THRU THURSDAY WHICH MADE MAKING ANY APPOINTMENT IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME, SO I TOOK IT TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO LOOK AT IT AND THAT IS WHEN I FOUND THE AIRBAGS HAD BEEN REPLACED IMPROPERLY. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE NE DEPARTMENT OF VEHICLES AND WAS TOLD TO FILE A FEDERAL COMPLAINT ABOUT THE AIRBAGS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME

MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING HIS 2000 GMC SIERRA GOING ABOUT 45MPH. THE ROADS WERE WET HE SWERVED TO AVOID ANOTHER CAR. HE HIT A UTILITY POLE IN WHAT WAS A FRONT END COLLISION. THE TRUCK WAS TOTALED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. HIS EYE HIT THE STEERING WHEEL WITH SUCH FORCE THAT THE GLOBE OF HIS EYE DEFLATED. HE IS NOW BLIND IN HIS LEFT EYE. AFTER THE ACCIDENT I CHECKED THE TRUCK FOR RECALLS. THERE WAS A RECALL ABOUT AIRBAGS NOT DEPLOYING PROPERLY IN FRONT END COLLISIONS. THERE WAS NEVER ANY NOTIFICATION FROM GMC ABOUT THIS RECALL. *TR
I WAS DRIVING IN VERY HORRIBLE CONDITIONS ALONG HWY 97 IN KLAMATH FALLS,OR AND I HIT A PATCH OF BLACK ICE AND BEGUN TO SPIN OUT, MY TRUCK THEN BEGIN HEADING TOWARDS A DEEP DITCH. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY DURING THE MASSIVE IMPACT. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE POLICE AND AMBULANCE WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OCCUPANT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED AND WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER. THE OPPOSING VEHICLE SUSTAINED MODERATE DAMGES AND THE TWO OCCUPANTS WERE INJURED. CUSTOMER STATES THAT THE SEAT BELT IS HARD TO PULL AND DOES NOT RETRACT PROPERLY. *KB THE CONSUMER INITIALLY REPORTED THE SEAT BELT WAS MAKING A SQUEAKING NOISE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SEAT BELT, BUT THE NEW SEAT BELT LOCKED UP ON PASSENGERS RESTRICTING THEIR ABILITY TO LEAN FORWARD AND WAS VERY TIGHT. THE DEALER REPLACED THE SEAT BELT TWO MORE TIMES AND THE RESTRICTION PROBLEM WAS STILL PRESENT. THE DEALER STATED THE BELT WAS SUPPOSE TO WORK THAT WAY. THE CONSUMER STATED THE ORIGINAL BELT NEVER WORKED THAT WAY. THE CONSUMER STATED THE LAST SEAT BELT THAT WAS REPLACED NOT ONLY RESTRICTED MOVEMENT, BUT IT DID NOT RETRACT SMOOTHLY. ONCE THE SEAT BELT WAS IN USE, IT DID NOT RECOIL LEAVING THE BELT LOOSE AND USELESS. IN ADDITION, THE ARM REST KEPT FALLING OFF AND THE SEAT NO LONGER RECLINED. *JB
