REAR BRAKE PADS PREMATURELY WORN OUT AT 25,000 MILES IN 2008 HONDA ACCORD AND HAVE TO BE REPLACED BY THE DEALER. UPON INSPECTION, BOTH OF THE INNER PADS ARE TOTALLY WORN OUT, WHEREAS THE OUTER PADS ARE OK (WITHIN NORMAL WEAR & TEAR). THIS PROBLEM, IF NOT CORRECTED IN TIME, WILL LEAD TO FAILURE OF THE REAR BRAKE SYSTEM AND PRESENT A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE MOST OWNERS (MYSELF INCLUDED) WOULD NOT EXPECT IT TO FAIL THAT EARLY UNDER NORMAL USE. *TR
BRAKES ON A 2008 ACCORD COUPE WORE OUT IN THE REAR MUCH EARLIER THAN EXPECTED. I FOUND THEM TO NEED REPLACING AT 21,400 MILES. BRAKE PADS WERE WORN DOWN AND NEEDED REPLACED. THEY ARE TOO SMALL FOR THE SIZE AND WEIGHT OF THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD THAT IS BEING IGNORED BY HONDA. *TR
BACK BRAKE PADS FAILING ON 2008 HONDA ACCORD AT VERY LOW MILEAGE. I BEGAN TO NOTICE A VIBRATION AT 25,000 MILES. WHEN I HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED BY THE DEALER, I WAS NOTIFIED THAT MY BACK BRAKES HAD DETERIORATED TO THE POINT THAT IT WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. THE ROTORS HAD BEEN DAMAGED. THE FRONT BRAKES WERE STILL IN EXCELLENT SHAPE. THE BACK BRAKES SHOULD NEVER WEAR OUT BEFORE THE FRONT BRAKES. IT IS GENERALLY TWO PAIRS OF FRONT BRAKES FOR EVERY PAIR OF BACK BRAKES. HONDA ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE BACK BRAKES AND THAT THEY WERE RECEIVING HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS. THEY CHANGED THE BRAKING RATIO AND THE REAR BRAKE PADS ARE WEARING OUT AT AN ALARMING PACE. HOWEVER, THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPLACE THE BRAKE PADS, EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. I CHECKED WITH SEVERAL OTHER INDIVIDUALS IN MY AREA WHO OWN THE SAME VEHICLE AND THEY HAD ALL EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE WITH REAR BRAKES. ONE INDIVIDUAL'S REAR BRAKES WENT OUT AT 15,000 MILES. THE BRAKING ISSUE WAS NEVER MENTIONED WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, EVEN THOUGH HONDA HAS BEEN AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. DRIVERS DON'T ANTICIPATE REAR BRAKE ISSUES AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE. THERE IS A GREAT POTENTIAL FOR INJURY WITH THIS PROBLEM. OWNERS DON'T KNOW THEY SHOULD BE WATCHING FOR REAR BRAKE PROBLEMS AT LOW MILEAGE. *TR
MY REAR BRAKES ON MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD ARE PREMATURELY WORN AT 30K MILES. THE DEALER SAYS THAT THE BRAKES ARE NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANT. *TR
I HAVE A 2008 HONDA ACCORD AND DRIVE ABOUT 22,000 MILES MAINLY HIGHWAY A YEAR. AT 20,000 MILES MY REAR BRAKES WENT OUT A YEAR AFTER PURCHASING. I WAS TOLD I MUST HAVE DROVE W/THE PARKING BRAKE ON AND BRAKES WERE REPLACED. NEXT, AS TIME WENT ON MANY OTHERS WERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS AND DEALERSHIPS WERE AWARE AND AGREED THIS WAS AN ISSUE BUT HONDA WASN'T DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I HAVE NOW REPLACED MY REAR BRAKES A SECOND TIME AND CALLED AMERICAN HONDA I HAVE 42,000 MILES THIS TIME. I WAS TOLD DUE TO THE HIGHWAY MILES I'M GETTING MORE OUT OF THE BRAKES THEN INTENDED. THE BRAKES ARE WORKING UP TO SPECS IS WHAT WAS SAID BUT ALSO SAID THAT HONDA KNOWS THIS ISN'T RIGHT FOR THE CUSTOMER OR FOR WHAT A HONDA BUYER IS EXPECTING BUT THERE WILL BE NO CHANGE. I WAS HEADING TOWARD THE MOUNTAINS OF CHATANOOGA WHEN I WAS GOING TO HIT THE MARK FOR REPLACEMENT. I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR AND HAVE THE BRAKES GO OUT. I THOUGHT TO REPLACE THEM BEFORE THE NOISE I'D HEAR JUST IN CASE I WAS ON THE MOUNTAINS. I TOOK THE CAR IN AND MY ROTORS WERE EFFECTED EVEN THOUGH I HADN'T HEARD ANY SIGNAL NOISE YET AND THE REAR BRAKES NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE DEALERSHIPS APOLOGIZE AND ADMIT THEY'VE BROUGHT THIS TO HONDA'S ATTENTION BUT NOTHING IS DONE ABOUT IT. I COULD HAVE BEEN ON THOSE MOUNTAINS WITH IT GOING OUT BUT LUCKILY I KNEW ALREADY IT WAS A POSSIBILITY AND CONCERN. FOR ME, I'M GOING TO HAVE TO REPLACE THE REAR BRAKES YEARLY. IT IS STILL CHEAPER THAN ME BUYING A NEW CAR IN THIS ECONOMIC TIME BUT AWFUL TO BUY A TRUSTED NAME LIKE HONDA AND HAVE THIS SAFETY CONCERN EACH YEAR THAT A COMPANY IS AWARE OF BUT WON'T FIX OR TAKE ON THE COST OF REPAIR. I WAS TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM WAS HANDLED IN THIS YEARS MODEL BUT DON'T KNOW THAT FOR SURE. NO ONE IS THINKING AT 20,000 MILES THEIR REAR BRAKES MIGHT GO OUT WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT I HOPE WILL BE ADDRESSED. I WAS TOLD TO SEND MY COMPLAINT HERE BY A SERVICE MECHANIC AT HONDA BECAUSE HE SAID HE KNOWS THIS IS AN ISSUE NOT BEING ADDRESSED. *TW
REAR BRAKES HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 22,000 MILES AT COST OF $207.52. IT IS NOW 12,000 MILES LATER AND BRAKES ARE SQUEALING AGAIN AND WILL NEED TO BE REPLACE AGAIN VERY SOON. *TR
MICHELIN PILOT MXM4 P225/50R17 ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT TIRE ON A 2008 HONDA ACCORD 4DR EX. MOUNTED ON RR WITH ONLY 17735 MILES DEVELOPED A SIDE WALL BLISTER NEAR THE BEAD. THE TIRE WAS PROPERLY INFLATED AND HAD NEVER SUFFERED ANY IMPACT DAMAGE. THE TIRE HAD TO BE REPLACED AT OWNERS COST BECAUSE MICHELIN DEALER WOULD NOT HONOR WARRANTY. DEFECTIVE TIRE KEPT BY OWNER FOR INSPECTION BY MICHELIN REP. *TR
BRAKE PADS ON 2008 HONDA ACCORD SEDAN (4-CYLINDER ENGINE) NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT 25,000 MILES, WHICH I FEEL IS PREMATURE. THE BRAKE PADS SHOULD LAST AT LEAST 50,000 MILES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA ACCORD. WHILE DRIVING 55 MILES PER HOUR THE CONTACT NOTICED BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM THE MUFFLER. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO CONSUME EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF OIL. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE DEALER WHO REPLACED THE OIL GASKET, THE VTC OIL CONTROL VALVE AND THE CHAIN CHASSIS RING. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO LEAK OIL. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ENGINE RATTLED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED ON. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO SPEAK WITH THE MANUFACTURER FOR FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE CONTACT FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE MANUFACTURER WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURES WERE NORMAL. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 88000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25000.

I HAD MY REAR BRAKES REPLACED ON MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD AT 34000 HIGHWAY MILES BECAUSE THEY WERE WORN BEYOND THE SENSOR WHICH I NEVER HEARD. I NEVER REPLACED THE REAR BRAKES ON MY LAST CAR EVEN AFTER 1400,00 MILES AND I READ ON LINE THAT THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM ON 2008 AND 2009 HONDAS. HONDA TOLD ME THE REARS WEAR FASTER THAN THE FRONTS NOW AND THEIR MECHANIC SAID HE OFTEN REPLACES THEM AT 15,000 MILES. *TR
THE REAR BRAKES ON MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD NEEDED REPLACING AFTER 19,000 MILES. WHEN I ASKED THE SERVICE REP AT HONDA< I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS COMMON ON THIS YEAR AND MODEL. I ASKED DO THEY KNOW WHY? THEY DIDN'T HAVE AN ANSWER. I CONTACTED HONDA NATIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE IN WRITING. THEY RESPONDED ABOUT 3 WEEKS LATER BY PHONE AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY CONTACTED THE HONDA DEALERSHIP, WHERE I HAD MY CAR SERVICED, THEY STATED THAT THEY DIDN'T KNOW OF ANY OTHER PROBLEMS. HONDA CUTOMER SERVICE, SAID THEY KNEW OF NO OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT REAR BRAKES. *DT I TOLD CUSTOMER SERVICE THA TI HAVE NEVER REPLACED REAR BRAKES ON ANY OF MY PREVIOUS CARS BEFORE 45,000 MILES AND THART FRONT BRAKES NORMALLY WEAR OUT 2 TO 1 TO REAR BRAKES. MY CAR HAD 1ML LEFT ON THE REAR AND 9 ML LEFT ON THE FRONT BRAKES. I WAS TOLD THAT UNDER NORMAL WEAR HONDA EXPECTS THEIR REAR BRAKES TO LAST 30,000 - 40,000 MILES AGAIN I ASKED THEM TO EXPLAIN WHY THESE BRAKES WORE OUT, I WAS A PREPARED STATMENT, SAYING SOMETHING TO THE EFFECT THAT THEY WOULD TRACK BRAKE PROBLEMS OVER THE NEXT 2-3 YEARS AND IF THEY HAVE A PROBLEM, WILL GET BACK TOME. I FEEL HONDA HAS A PROBLEM WITH WEAR OF BACK BRAKES ON 2008 ACCORDS.

2008 HONDA ACCORD LXP 4 CYL. AUTO PURCHASED 9/23/2007. PRODUCT/ MANUFACTURING/ENGINEERING DEFECT IN REAR BRAKES - PREMATURE REAR BRAKE WEAR. REAR BRAKES REQUIRE NEW PADS AT APPROXIMATELY 22,000 TO 24,000 MILES. CONSUMERS ARE UNKNOWINGLY DRIVING CARS UNDER WARRANTY WITH REAR PADS BELOW SAFETY LEVEL. NEITHER THE DEALERSHIPS OR HONDA ARE ALERTING CUSTOMERS TO THE PROBLEM. THEY'RE WAITING UNTIL THE CUSTOMER HEARS A SQUEALING NOISE INDICATING METAL IS RUBBING AGAINST METAL, TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE REAR BRAKES ARE WORN. THIS IS A KNOWN DEFECT. THE: DEALERSHIPS, HONDA WORLDWIDE, AND AMERICAN HONDA ARE AWARE OF THE DEFECT. I DROVE THE CAR FOR 6 MONTHS OR LONGER WITH UNSAFE BRAKES. SO ARE THOUSANDS OF CONSUMERS. THE REAR PADS WERE AT 00MM AT 30,840. FRONT PADS AT 7MM AT 30,840 DEALERSHIPS ARE NOT TAKING A PROACTIVE APPROACH TO ENSURE THE CONSUMERS' SAFETY. THE BRAKES SHOULD BE CHECKED AT REGULAR INTERVALS AS EARLY AS 10,000 MILES. A CONSUMER COUNTS ON THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER TO ENSURE KNOWN EQUIPMENT AND SAFETY ISSUES ARE CORRECTED. THE DEALER AND MFR. COST FOR THE PART AND LABOR WITHOUT MARK-UPS IS $50 TO $75. CONSUMERS ARE BEING ASKED TO PAY FOR THE ONGOING REPAIRS AT A COST OF $180 - $255 INCLUDING THE MARK-UPS. CONSUMERS EXPECT THAT A NEW CAR UNDER WARRANTY WILL HAVE SAFE EQUIPMENT AND BRAKES. CONSUMERS ALSO EXPECT THAT THE HONDA DEALERSHIPS AND HONDA WORLDWIDE WILL ABSORB THE COST OF THE REPAIR. THE CONSUMER WOULD HAVE NO EXPENSE DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD AT A LOW MILEAGE WERE IT NOT FOR THE PRODUCT/ENGINEERING DEFECT. IN FACT, THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW AFFECTING THOUSANDS OF 2008 HONDA ACCORDS. REAR BRAKE PADS ON A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT 17,200 MILES. THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM. *TR

ALSO, THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED FAILURES WITH THE REAR BRAKES. WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE CONTACT WOULD HEAR AN ABNORMAL SQUEALING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE DEALER AND THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE KEY FOB HAD A FAULTY PART AND THE REAR BRAKES WERE EXHIBITING THE ABNORMAL NOISE DUE TO NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 41,000.

THIS INVOLVES CONTINUOUS BRAKE ROTOR PROBLEMS WITH MY 2008 HONDA ACCORD EX 6 CYLINDER CAR. AT 42600 MILES I COMPLAINED TO HONDA ABOUT A GRINDING NOISE WHEN MAKING TURNS. THEY REPLACED THE REAR PADS/SHOES AND MACHINED THE ROTORS. AT 61200 MILES I COMPLAINED TO HONDA ABOUT SCRAPING AND CLUNKING NOISES WHEN BACKING UP. THEY REPLACED THE FRONT PADS AND HAD TO MACHINE THE FRONT ROTORS BECAUSE OF WARPING. AT 64200 MILES I COMPLAINED TO HONDA ABOUT THE SAME CLUNKING NOISE WHEN GOING IN REVERSE AND A THUMPING SOUND WHEN BRAKING. THE TECH FOUND A RIGHT REAR CALIPER BOLT WAS LOOSE. HE RETORQUED THE BOLTS. I'M SEEING SO MANY COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THE '08 ACCORD BRAKES AND I'M CONCERNED THIS PROBLEM IS GOING TO KEEP OCCURRING. I'VE NEVER NEEDED TO HAVE MY ROTORS WORKED ON IN ANY CAR I'VE OWNED. *TR
I HAD TO REPLACE MY REAR BRAKE PADS AT JUST UNDER 23,000 MILES. THEY WERE WORN EXTREMELY UNEVENLY ON THE INSIDE ONLY. THE OUTSIDE PAD WAS NOT WORN AT ALL. NOW AT JUST UNDER 45,000 MILES, THEY ARE IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT AGAIN. SAME PROBLEM -- WORN ON THE INSIDE ONLY. THE MECHANIC THAT I GO TO TOLD ME THAT HE SUSPECTS THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CALIPERS. IT IS UNUSUAL TO SEE ABSOLUTELY NO WEAR ON THE OUTER BRAKE PAD AND ALL THE WEAR ON THE INNER PAD. THE FIRST TIME I HAD THEM REPLACED, I WENT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT IS HOW HONDA REDESIGNED THE BRAKING SYSTEM IN THE 2008 ACCORD. I PURCHASED A HONDA BECAUSE OF IT'S AMAZING REPUTATION FOR RELIABILITY AND AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THE BRAKES NOT WORKING PROPERLY IS NOT BEING FULLY INVESTIGATED BY HONDA. *TR

MY HONDA ACCORD COUPE (2008) REAR BRAKE PADS WEAR OUT ABOUT EVERY 15,000 MILES AS IT STARTS TO MAKE THE NOISE FROM THE SENSORS. MY CAR IS APPROXIMATELY 32,000 MILES, 1 1/2 YEARS OLD, AND HAVE CHANGED THE REAR BRAKE PADS TWICE IN CONTRAST TO THE FRONT BRAKE PADS THAT HAVE NEVER BEEN CHANGED. I AM THE ONLY DRIVER OF THE CAR AND USUALLY DRIVE ON HIGHWAYS. I COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS ON THE DEALER AS THIS IS VERY UNUSUAL. THEY SAID THAT HONDA ENGINEERS WERE INVESTIGATING AS THEY HAVE BEEN NOTICING A VERY LARGE AMOUNT OF CUSTOMERS WITH CARS HAVING THIS KIND OF ISSUE EVERY 15K TO 20K MILES. THEY ALSO SPECIFIED THAT IF A RECALL WAS TO BE DONE THEY WILL REFUND MY MONEY. THE INTEREST THING ABOUT THIS IS THAT WHEN YOU HIT THE BRAKES THE CAR HAS A TENDENCY TO LEAN TO THE FRONT WHICH WOULD MAKE YOU THINK THAT THE CAR USES FRONT BRAKES THE MOST RATHER THAN THE BACK ONES. BY OPENING THIS COMPLAIN I WILL LIKE RAISE AWARENESS AND IF POSSIBLE AN INVESTIGATION AS MY BELIEVE IS THIS IS NOT NORMAL. EACH REPLACEMENT WILL BE APPROXIMATELY BETWEEN 100 TO 150 DOLLARS. *TR

THE REAR CALIPERS ON A 2008 HONDA ACCORD SEIZED UP AND CAUSED PREMATURE DESTRUCTION OF THE BRAKE PADS AND DAMAGED ROTORS.. THIS HAS RENDERED THE CAR UNSAFE ACCORDING TO A SERVICE TECH OF MY OWN AND THE DEALERSHIP. AFTER SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET, IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG 2008 AND 2009 ACCORDS. SOME ARE HAVING TO REPLACE BRAKES AT 9,000 MILES. TO ME, THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I HAD NO IDEA MY BRAKES NEEDED REPLACING. THERE WERE NO WARNING SIGNS - NO SQUEAKING, NO CLICKING, THE CAR DID NOT DRIVE AND/OR BRAKE ANY DIFFERENTLY. TYPICALLY, I WOULD NOT HAVE THE BRAKES CHECKED AT 17,000 MILES FOR NO REASON. THE PROBLEM WAS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION ON A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE. TO ME, THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. HAD I NOT HAT THAT OIL CHANGE, I WOULD HAVE KEPT ON DRIVING AN UNSAFE CAR, WITH THE RISK OF A COMPLETE BRAKE FAILURE. THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT COVER THE COST ($270) BECAUSE HONDA IS NOT ACKNOWLEDGING THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH 2008 AND 2009 ACCORDS. IT IS NOT SAFE TO HAVE THIS MANY CARS ON THE ROAD WITH BRAKE ISSUES. I ELECTED TO TRADE IN THE CAR, RATHER THAN DEALING WITH HAVING TO REPLACE THE BRAKES EVERY 17,000 AND I DID NOT WANT TO DRIVE AN UNSAFE VEHICLE. *TR
ON 2008,2009 AND POTENTIALLY 2010 HONDA ACCORDS , BRAKING DISTANCES ARE MAY LONGER DUE TO THE OVERLOADING OF THE REAR BRAKES. THIS OVERLOADING OF THE REAR BRAKES CAUSES PREMATURE WEAROUT (18,000 TO 27,000 MILES) OF THE REAR BRAKES. DUE TO A FAILURE TO BALANCE THE LOADS IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM, FRONT BRAKES MAY NOT PERFORMING THEIR PROPER BRAKING FUNCTION. I OWN A 2008 HONDA ACCORD. IT STARTED TO MAKE SOME NOISE IN THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME THAT IT WASN'T MY FRONT BRAKES AND ADVISE ME TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER, I DID. MUCH TO MY SURPRISE THEY TOLD ME THAT I NEEDED BACK BRAKES. I WAS SHOCKED I ONLY HAD 12,787 MILES ON MY CAR, REAR BRAKES GENERALLY DON'T GO BEFORE THE FRONT ONES AND NOT ESPECIALLY AT THIS LOW MILES. I CONCERN THAT IT THE BRAKES ARE WEARING OUT THIS SOON THEY HAVE TO BE DEFECTIVE AND I'M CONCERN THAT SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT. LETS NOT WAIT TILL SOMEONE DIES BEFORE DOING THIS RECALL. AT 22,000 MILES OUR 2008 HONDA ACCORD, V6 NEEDED NEW REAR BRAKE PADS. HONDA U.S.A. WAS CONTACTED BY MY WIFE AND SHE WAS TOLD THIS IS NORMAL WEAR. AT THIS RATE WE WILL NEED TO REPLACE THESE BRAKES 4 MORE TIMES BEFORE THE VEHICLE REACHES 100,000 MILES. THE DEALER REPLACED THE PADS FOR $300 SINCE THEY TOO CLAIM THIS IS NORMAL WEAR AND NOT COVERED UNDER THE 36,000 MILE WARRANTY. THE MAJORITY OF THE 22,000 MILES WERE DRIVEN BETWEEN OUR HOME AND MY WIFE'S WORK (MOSTLY FREEWAY MILES). I LOOKED AT ONE WEB SITE, CARCOMPLAINTS.COM AND THERE ARE 517 COMPLAINTS REGARDING PREMATURE BRAKE WEAR FOR 2008 AND 2009 HONDA ACCORDS,WITH A SEVERITY RATING OF 7.8 OUT OF 10. HONDA SHOULD RECALL THESE CARS AND FIX THE DESIGN DEFECT THAT IS CAUSING THIS PREMATURE BRAKE WEAR, AND CAR OWNERS SHOULD BE REIMBURSED FOR PREMATURE REPAIR WORK REGARDING THIS ISSUE. BECAUSE CONSUMERS ARE NOT EXPECTING BRAKE PAD FAILURE AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE THEY MAY IGNORE THE BRAKE WEAR SENSOR NOISE OR THINK IT IS SOMETHING ELSE. JUST REPLACED REAR BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS AT 60,000 MILES WITH INSIDE PAD WORN TO METAL AND SCRAPING ROTORS YET OUTSIDE PADS WERE VIRTUALLY UNTOUCHED. BEEN DRIVING 50,000 HIGHWAY MILES FOR YEARS AND NEVER HAD TO REPLACE FRONT BRAKE PADS BEFORE 60,000 MILES OR REAR PADS SOONER THAN 100,000 MILES. SHOWED UNEVEN WEAR ON REAR PADS AND SCRATCHED ROTORS JAY WOLFF HONDA SERVICE MANAGER WHO ADMITTED THAT THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH PRE-MATURE WEAR ON HONDA ACCORD PADS BUT SAID LATER IT IS JUST NORMAL WEAR TO GET ME TO LEAVE. *TR

TOOK VEHICLE TO LOCAL CAR DEALER (HONDA EAST, CINCINNATI, OH). THEY ARE AWARE OF PROBLEM BUT WILL NOT RESOLVE/REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE BRAKE PADS UNLESS PERSON DOES ALL SERVICE WORK WITH THEM - EVEN THOUGH CAR WAS PURCHASED FROM THEM.
