DOOR LOCKS. WHEN IT IS WARM OUTSIDE ABOVE 55 DEGREES THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR LOCK WILL NOT STAY LOCKED. IF IT IS BELOW 55 DEGREES THE DOORS WILL LOCK BY ITSELF. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS WHILE DRIVING THE DOOR COULD OPEN UP. I HAVE READ THAT HONDA IS AWARE OF THE INCIDENTS AS THERE ARE MANY CLAIMS ON THIS. IT IS ONLY THE PASSENGER FRONT DOOR AND HONDA WANTS TO CHARGE 105 DOLLARS JUST TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG. THAT IS NOT EVEN TO FIX THE PROBLEM THAT THEY KNOW EXISTS. *TR
I BOUGHT MY 2008 CRV USED IN 2010 AND SOON AFTER PUT ON 4 NEW TIRES. NOW IT IS 2014 AND I PUT ON ANOTHER NEW SET OF TIRES. I WONDERED WHY I NEEDED TIRES SO SOON, WELL NOW I KNOW. I BOUGHT 4 NEW TIRES AND WHEN THEY TRIED TO DO THE ALIGNMENT THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED TO BUY A CAMBER KIT AND SHOWED ME THE PICTURE OF THE ALIGNMENT AFTER. THEY WERE UNABLE TO ALIGN THE RIGHT REAR PASSENGER WHEEL WITHOUT THIS ADDED KIT. I CAN'T AFFORD THIS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
THE 2008 HONDA CRV HAS ISSUES WITH THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM. ~ I PURCHASED MY CAR NEW CAR, AND RECENTLY BROUGHT MY CAR INTO THE DEALER FOR STATE INSPECTION. I WAS TOLD BY HENDRICKS HONDA, WOODBRIDGE, VA THAT I HAVE A LEAK IN MY RACK & PINION WHICH CANNOT BE FIXED. I HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE POWER STEERING/ RACK&PINION SYSTEMS WITH AN ALIGNMENT FOR A COST OF OVER $1600. I ASKED WHETHER THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS YEAR'S MODEL AND DIDN'T GET A STRAIGHT ANSWER. BASED ON NUMEROUS REPORTS HERE AND ON THE WEB, IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM/DEFECT WITH 2008 CRVS AND HONDA SHOULD RECALL THE MODEL. I ALSO UNDERSTAND BY REPORTS FOLKS HAVE FILED THAT THIS IS POTENTIALLY A SAFETY HAZARD, POSSIBLE FIRE HAZARD. HONDA SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO RECALL AND CORRECT THE DEFECT.. *TR
MY HONDA 2008 CR-V'S REAR RIGHT DOOR UNLOCKS ITSELF 1. AFTER LOCKING IT THRU THE REMOTE, 2. AFTER LOCKING IT MANUALLY FROM THE LOCK SWITCH. 3. EVEN AFTER LOCKING IT THRU THE KEYS. IT HAS A FEATURE OF AUTOMATICALLY LOCKING ALL DOORS FROM FULL STOP TO 9MPH BUT THIS DOOR WILL UNLOCK ITSELF IN ANY WAY. I FEEL LIKE MY CAR IS NOT SECURED AND ME AND MY PASSENGERS SAFETY IS BEING COMPROMISED. *TR
STEERING RACK & PINION WAS FOUND TO HAVE A LEAK. AFFECTED STEERING PERFORMANCE OF VEHICLE ALONG WITH LEAK BEING A FIRE HAZARD. PURCHASED NEW IN 2007. WENT TO DEALER TO HAVE IT REPLACED AND TOTAL COST CAME OUT TO USD $1200. *TR
ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.
APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS AGO, PERIODICALLY, WHILE DRIVING (30-45MPH) WE WOULD HEAR AN UNUSUAL WHIRLING NOISE IN THE MOTOR; NOT HARSH BUT MORE A PURRING SOUND. THE NEXT TIME WE DROVE THE CAR WE WOULD NOT HEAR IT. IT CONTINUED BUT SPASMODICALLY. THEN IN NOVEMBER WE BEGAN HAVING TROUBLE STARTING THE ENGINE. WE HAD A NEW BATTERY INSTALLED BUT AGAIN, PERIODICALLY, BOTH THE WHIRLING NOISE AND NO ENGINE TURNOVER. YESTERDAY, AFTER MAKING A QUICK STOP BEFORE GOING TO WORK, WE HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK CO. WHO ALSO CHECKED THE BATTERY (NOW LESS THAN A MONTH OLD AND CHARGING PERFECTLY). WE ARE NOT CERTAIN OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE NOISE AND THE FAILURE TO START. *TR
THE CUSHION MATERIAL IN THE FRONT SEATS IS DISINTEGRATING. EACH WEEK THERE IS MORE AND MORE FOAM DUST UNDER EACH OF THE FRONT SEATS ON THE DOOR SIDE. THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT IS NOT USED OFTEN AS I AM SINGLE---MY MOTHER DOES SIT THERE(SHE WEIGHS 110 LBS). I AM THE ONLY DRIVER OF THE CAR AND AT 137 LBS I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THE SEAT WAS SO POORLY CONSTRUCTED THAT THE FOAM, OR WHATEVER THE SEAT IS MADE OF, IS DISINTEGRATING ON A WEEKLY BASIS. I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS PROBLEM IS COMPROMISING THE SEAT CUSHION AIRBAG. I AM UNSURE OF THE EXACT START DATE BECAUSE IN THE BEGINNING I BELIEVED THE DUST TO BE JUST THAT OR POSSIBLE DIRT/SAND FROM SHOES GETTING IN AND OUT OF THE CAR. AFTER INQUIRING ABOUT THE PROBLEM AT LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIP IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT I CONTACT HONDA DIRECTLY. I WILL BE CONTACTING THEM SOON IN AN ATTEMPT TO ASK ABOUT THIS ISSUE; HOWEVER, I WANTED TO CONTACT YOU AS I CONSIDER THIS TO BE A SAFETY CONCERN. COULD THIS POTENTIALLY LEAD TO THE AIRBAGS INFLATING BECAUSE OF A LACK OF PADDING? NO LONGER WILL THE AIRBAGS BE CUSHIONED FROM ANY IMPACTS/BUMPS/WEIGHT-- NOT AS MUCH MATERIAL. AGAIN, I AM SURE THIS COULD LEAD TO A PROBLEM OF SAFETY IF IT COMPROMISES THE CUSHION AIRBAGS. THANK YOU
DRIVER'S DOOR WILL NOT LOCK BY ANY METHOD OR CONFIGURATION. CANNOT LOCK IT MANUALLY FROM INSIDE THE CAR, OR FROM THE OUTSIDE WITH THE ELECTRONIC KEY FOB OR PHYSICALLY WITH THE KEY. WHEN DRIVING THE CAR ATTEMPTS TO LOCK ALL THE DOORS AUTOMATICALLY AFTER THE CAR EXCEEDS 15 KPH - ALL THE DOORS LOCK EXCEPT FOR THE DRIVER'S DOOR WHICH IMMEDIATELY MOVES BACK TO THE UNLOCKED POSITION. CANNOT LOCK THE DRIVER'S DOOR MANUALLY OR BY PRESSING THE LOCK BUTTON IN THE ARM REST EITHER WHILE PARKED OR WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE, AS WELL AS A SECURITY ISSUE - CAR ALARM CANNOT BE SET SINCE THE DRIVER'S DOOR WON'T LOCK. *TR
AFTER THE DOORS AUTOMATICALLY LOCK, THE PASSENGER DOOR AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCKS BY ITSELF AND CANNOT BE LOCKED MANUALLY. *TR
ELECTRONIC DOOR LOCK SOLENOID HAS A MIND OF ITS OWN, LOCKS ME IN THE CAR AND ALSO OUT OF THE CAR, AND I HAVE THE KEY FAB. ALSO MAKES A HORRIBLE NOISE. *TR
REAR PASSENGER DOOR LOCK DOES NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY. IT WILL STICK IN THE LOCKED OR UNLOCKED POSITION. IF IT IS UNLOCKED, IT WILL REPEATEDLY TRY TO UNLOCK WHEN DRIVING ABOUT 10 MPH. *TR
DOOR LOCKS GOING OUT MAKING BUZZING NOISE WHEN ENGAGED IN REVERSE .HONDA SHOULD REPAIR FREE OF CHARGE, TOTAL COST TO FIX $850.00! RIDICULOUS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CHECK FUEL CAP WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED INTERMITTENTLY. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL CAP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT STAY LOCKED. IT SLOWLY UNLOCKS AND THIS POSES A SAFETY CONCERN FOR CHILDREN IN THE BACK AS WELL AS THE FACT THAT MY VEHICLE CANNOT EVER BE LOCKED. *TR
BOTH REAR DOOR LOCKS DON'T STAY LOCKED. AFTER YOU PASS 10 MI PER HOUR THE LOCKS UNLOCK AND MAKE A LOUD CLANKING SOUND WHEN THIS HAPPENS. AFTER YOU STOP AND TURN OFF CAR THEY DON'T LOCK, YOU HAVE TO TRY 2-3 TIMES TO LOCK THEM. ALSO WHEN YOU LOCK OR UNLOCK THE CAR THERE IS A LOUD CLANKY SOUND FROM THE LOCKS. *TR
WHEN TRYING TO UNLOCK THE DOOR WITH THE REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY, ALL DOORS UNLOCK EXCEPT THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR. FROM LOOKING AT THE INTERNET, THERE LOOKS TO BE OTHER HONDA CRV OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. *TR
THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT LOCK. *TR
I ALSO HAVE A HONDA CRV 2008. THE LEFT REAR DOOR STARTED UNLOCKING WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. I USED TO BE ABLE TO PLAY WITH THE DOORS AND THE LOCKING MECHANISM A BIT AND FINALLY GET IT TO STAY LOCKED. HOWEVER, SINCE IT FIRST STARTED, IT HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE AND NOW IS NOT LOCKING AT ALL WHICH PRESENTS BOTH A SAFETY AND SECURITY RISK. I SPOKE WITH HONDA AND THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS SAFETY/SECURITY ISSUE. HOWEVER FINDLAW.COM SAYS THERE IS A RECALL FOR 2012 CRVS AND ACURA ILXS FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. I AM CURIOUS AS TO WHY IT WAS NOT EXTENDED TO ALL CRVS EXPERIENCING THIS SAME PROBLEM. *TR
I FIRST NOTICED THE PROBLEM ON 8/21/14. AFTER STARTING THE CAR AND PUTTING IT IN DRIVE, THE DOOR LOCKS ACTIVATED A FEW SECONDS AFTER THE CAR STARTED MOVING, AS THEY NORMALLY DO. ABOUT A MINUTE LATER I HAD TO COME TO A STOP. WHEN THE CAR STARTED MOVING, THE REAR DOOR LOCKS CYCLED AGAIN. THIS WOULD HAPPEN EVERY TIME THE CAR WOULD START TO MOVE AGAIN FROM A STOP. I REACHED MY DESTINATION AND EXITED THE CAR, LOCKING THE DOORS WITH THE HONDA REMOTE. A SECOND AFTER THE DOORS LOCKED, I HEARD A FAINT CLICK FROM THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR, AS IF SOMEONE HAD OPERATED THE LOCK BUTTON FROM THE INSIDE. I CHECKED THE DOOR HANDLE AND THE REAR DOOR OPENED. I CHECKED THE DRIVERS DOOR AND IT WAS STILL LOCKED. I HIT THE DOOR LOCKS AGAIN WITH THE KEY REMOTE AND CHECKED TO MAKE SURE IT WAS PHYSICALLY LOCKED. WHEN I CAME OUT IN THE MORNING, I CHECKED THE DOOR, AND FOUND IT UNLOCKED. I CHECKED THE DRIVERS DOOR AND IT WAS STILL LOCKED. THIS STARTED AS A INTERMITTENT PROBLEM, BUT IS NOW APPROACHING ALMOST A CONTINUOUS EVENT. I CAN'T HAVE PASSENGERS IN THE BACK SEAT BECAUSE I CAN'T BE SURE THE DOORS WILL STAY CLOSED IN CASE OF AN ACCIDENT, AND I FEAR THAT THE CAR IS NOW EXPOSED TO THEFT BECAUSE IT'S EASY TO ACCESS REGARDLESS OF THE OTHER DOORS, OR THE ALARM. THIS IS NOW AFFECTING MY SAFETY AND MY SECURITY. PLEASE HAVE HONDA FIX THIS ISSUE. *TR
THE CAR'S AUTO-LOCK SYSTEM HAS BEEN DESIGNED TO AUTOMATICALLY LOCK THE CAR DOORS WHEN DRIVING. HOWEVER, ONE OF THE DOORS STARTED TO AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK ITSELF. SO, WHENEVER THE CAR IS STATIONARY (I.E. STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN) AND THEN GOES INTO DRIVE, THE CAR WOULD AUTOMATICALLY LOCK BUT THEN THE ONE DOOR WILL UNLOCK. EVEN WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN PARKED AND TURNED OFF, THE DOOR WILL NOT STAY LOCKED THEREBY POSING A BIG RISK IN AN EVENT OF SOMEONE TRYING TO ENTER INTO THE CAR OR STEAL SOMETHING. *TR
FIRST: ALL 4 DOOR LOCKS STARTED TO LOCK AND UNLOCK BY IT SELF SOON AFTER PRESSING THE LOCK/OPEN DOOR BUTTON ON CAR KEY. AT ONE POINT WHEN TRYING TO OPEN THE CAR DOOR BY PRESSING LOCK/OPEN, IT WOULD CLICK OPEN AND LOCK JUST AS QUICKLY. IT TOOK A TOTAL OF 5 MINUTES AND WAS ABLE TO OPEN CAR DOOR WHILE HOLDING DOOR HANDLE AND PULLING AS SOON AS IT CLICKED. SECOND: THE CAR ACCELERATES WHEN PRESSING BRAKE, IN ORDER TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT THE BRAKE MUST BE PRESSED AT A DISTANCE OF THREE CARS. BOTH OF THESE PROBLEMS ARE VERY SERIOUS AND A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. HONDA DOES NOT HAVE RECALL FOR THIS PROBLEM. NHTSA PLEASE ISSUE A RECALL, DON'T WAIT FOR A SERIOUS ACCIDENT THAT WOULD TAKE THE LIFE OF A PERSON/PERSONS. *TR
WHEN DRIVING THE DOOR LOCKS KEEP LOCKING AND UNLOCKING. NOW THE PASSENGER FRONT AND REAR DOORS WILL NOT LOCK AT ALL. THIS POSES A PROBLEM WHEN CHILDREN ARE RIDING IN THE CAR AND MAY TRY TO OPEN A DOOR WHILE THE DRIVER IS DRIVING, BY ALLOWING THIEVES TO ENTER THE CAR WHILE IT IS PARKED (ALSO NOT PARKED), AND OTHER HAZARDS WHICH MAKE MY FAMILY NOW AFRAID TO RIDE IN THE CAR. I DREAD THE COST OF THIS REPAIR FOR A PROBLEM THAT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. *TR
STEERING RACK & PINION WAS FOUND TO HAVE A LEAK. AFFECTED STEERING PERFORMANCE OF VEHICLE ALONG WITH LEAK BEING A FIRE HAZARD. PURCHASED NEW IN 2008. WENT TO DEALER TO HAVE IT REPLACED AND TOTAL COST CAME OUT TO USD 2.2K+. *TR
THE DOOR LOCK FOR THE BACK DOOR OF OUR VEHICLE KEEPS SLOWLY UNLOCKING AFTER WE ATTEMPT TO LOCK THE DOORS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN WE USE THE FOB OR WHEN WE ATTEMPT TO LOCK THE DOORS MANUALLY. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A CLASS ACTION SUIT (OR SUITS) AGAINST HONDA FOR THIS. *TR
ALL DOORS ARE LOCKING AUTOMATICALLY IMMEDIATELY AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN UNLOCKED. ON OCCASION, AFTER LOCKING, THE DOORS WILL NOT UNLOCK NOR ALLOW MANUAL OVERRIDE OF THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR TO UNLOCK IT - THE DRIVER HAS HAD TO CRAWL THROUGH THE CAR TO LOCATE A DOOR THAT COULD BE UNLOCKED MANUALLY IN ORDER TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. *TR
DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LOCK ISSUES - UNABLE TO LOCK THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR USING ALL AVAILABLE METHODS, I.E. ELECTRIC DOOR LOCK, INSIDE MANUAL DOOR LOCK OR OUTSIDE KEY LOCK. SIGNIFICANTLY, WHEN DOOR LOCK ISSUES OCCUR IT POSES A SAFETY RISK TO THE OPERATOR AND PASSENGERS IN THE VEHICLE SINCE THE DOOR LOCKING AND UNLOCKING FEATURES FAIL TO OPERATE CORRECTLY. IN MY PARTICULAR CASE THE DOOR DID NOT LOCK AT ANY TIME, WHETHER THE VEHICLE IS TURNED ON OR OFF. *TR
FRONT PASSENGER DOOR LOCKS WILL ENGAGE AND DISENGAGE WHILE DRIVING. NOT ABLE TO LOCK DOOR WHEN VEHICLE IS OFF. *TR
THE SRS AND SEAT BELT SYSTEMS ARE NOT FUNCTIONING AS EXPECTED. THE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON, AND HONDA ADVISES WE NEED A NEW SIDE IMPACT AIR BAG AS SYSTEM HAS FAILED. HONDA WILL NOT REPLACE THIS WITHOUT CHARGE OF OVER $1000. CAR HAS LESS THAN 100000 MILES ON IT, HOW CAN THE MANUFACTURER NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LIFETIME WARRANTY ON A SAFETY SYSTEM? SHOULDN'T THAT BE A FEDERAL REGULATION- THAT THE SAFETY SYSTEMS BE WARRANTIED FOR LIFE? HOW CAN A MANUFACTURER NOT STAND BEHIND ITS SAFETY SYSTEM? PER THE INTERNET, THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED PROBLEM WITH HONDAS. A RECALL ON THIS VERY ISSUE FOR OTHER MODELS WAS DONE, BUT DESPITE THE SIMILAR ISSUE, NO RECALL HAS OCCURRED ON THIS MODEL. THIS SEEMS LIKE IT NEEDS INVESTIGATION. *TR
CAR WAS PARKED. WE WERE IN AND OUT OF THE VEHICLE, HEARD A POP. LOOKED AND THE SUNROOF WAS DEFORMED OUTWARD/SEVERE CURVATURE IN THE SUNROOF. LOOKED INSIDE FROM UNDERNEATH AND SUN ROOF WAS SHATTERED. NATURALLY WHEN DRIVING BACK AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IT CONTINUED TO BREAK AWAY UNTIL WE COULD DUCT TAPE IT AND DRIVE 400 MILES HOME. DEALERSHIP TRIED TO BLAME 'A ROCK' I CALLED B.S. ON THAT. GIVEN WE OWN THREE HONDA'S THEY FIXED IT ON WARRANTY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, SHE WAS CUT OFF CAUSING HER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO 12-15 METAL POSTS HEAD-ON. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER SUSTAINED UNKNOWN INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000. UPDATED 8/28/14*CN UPDATED 11/28/2014 *JS
THE PASSENGER DOOR LOCKS AND UNLOCKS ITSELF. IT TRIES TO RE-LOCK AND THEN OPENS. IT CONTINUES TO DO THIS REPEATEDLY. I CANNOT LOCK THE PASSENGER DOOR. THE PROBLEM APPEARS TO BE WITH THE ACTUATOR. THE REAR HATCHBACK DOOR ALSO WILL NOT UNLOCK WHEN IT IS HOT (OVER 80 DEGREES). I CAN'T LOCK THE DOORS ON THE VEHICLE. *TR
REAR PASSENGER DOOR (BEHIND DRIVER) UNLOCKS WHEN CAR IS IN MOTION. I HAD CHILDREN IN THE CAR WHEN DOOR SUDDENLY UNLOCKED. PROBLEM IS CONTINUING. *TR
THE LOCKS ON MY CR-V DO NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. IF I UNLOCK THE DOORS, EITHER FROM THE CAR DOOR OR REMOTELY, THEY INSTANTLY RELOCK. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS ON OR OFF, EVEN IN DRIVE. THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR CANNOT BE UNLOCKED MANUALLY. I SEE THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING--AND EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR! IT IS ALSO DANGEROUS, AND MAKES ME NERVOUS TO TRAVEL WITH MY CHILDREN BECAUSE I DON'T TRUST THE LOCK SYSTEM. *TR
THE AIR CONDITIONING GOES OUT INTERMITTENTLY WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS ABOVE ~85F. THIS HAPPENED MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY UNTIL THE SYSTEM STOPPED PUTTING OUT COLD AIR ALTOGETHER. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH CR-VS, AND HONDA EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THE A/C COMPRESSOR CLUTCH TO 100,000 MILES. A MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THIS AS MY PROBLEM, ALTHOUGH IT HAPPENED 4,000 MILES OVER THE EXTENDED LIMIT FOR WARRANTY SERVICE. *TR
ON JUNE 14, 2014 I WAS RUN ON THE ROAD INTO A UTILITY POLE.BY ANOTHER DRIVER. MY AIRBAG EXPLODED WITH ABRASIONS TO MY RT ARM AND CHEST. MY DOORS ON BOTH SIDES LOCKED ON ME WHILE FUMES FROM UNDER THE HOOD WERE FILLING MY INTERIOR. THE POLICE HAD TO PRY THE DOOR OPEN.TO GET ME OUT. I LATER STARTED HAVING PAIN IN MY CHEST AND FOUND OUT THAT CARTILAGE BROKE AWAY FROM MY CHEST CAVITY--COSTOCHONDRITIS. THE CAR WAS TOTALLED, BUT I WAS ADVISED TO CHECK THE RECALL ON THAT MAKE AND MODEL. I FOUND TWO RECALLS THAT IT SEEMED JUST HAPPENED. I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG THESE AIRBAG PROBLEMS EXISTED. I BOUGHT ANOTHER HONDA AND CHECKED FOR RECALLS ON MY 2014 CRV. SO FAR NONE HAVE BEEN NOTED. I LOVE MY CAR, BUT WHAT SHOULD I DO ABOUT RECALLS ON THIS ONE.
AC COMPRESSOR /CLUTCH IS BROKEN, NO COLD AIR, ONLY HOT AIR BLOWING FROM AC. EXPENSIVE TO FIX. HONDA NEEDS TO REPLACE THIS FREE OF CHARGE!! I UNDERSTAND THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THE POORLY PLACED AC COMPRESSOR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CRV. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT AND REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOORS BECAME INOPERABLE. THE DOOR WOULD UNLOCK FOR A SECOND AND THEN INDEPENDENTLY BECOME LOCKED. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. UPDATED 10/31/14*LJ
ALL DOOR LOCKS WILL LOCK THEMSELVES AFTER BEING UNLOCKED AND UNLOCK AFTER BEING LOCKED. IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IT IS UNLOCKED BY THE REMOTE, THE DOOR KEY OR THE INTERIOR LOCKS. THE LOCKS WILL ALSO CYCLE WHEN EITHER PROCEEDING FROM A STOP OR WHEN YOU BEGIN BRAKING. *TR

DRIVERS DOOR AND TRUNK WOULD NOT UNLOCK. I HAD TO CLIMB ACROSS THE CAR AND GET OUT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. KEY WOULD NOT UNLOCK THE DOOR AND I COULDN'T MANUALLY PUSH THE LOCK TO THE UNLOCK POSITION. IT WAS COMPLETELY STUCK. *TR
DOOR LOCKS ARE DEFECTIVE. HAVE BEEN SELF LOCKING AND UNLOCKING EVERY 2 MINUTES WHILE DRIVING. ADDITIONALLY I HAVE A CHILD IN THE BACK SEAT WHO'S DOOR IS NOW UNCONTROLLABLY UNLOCKING. THIS IS A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE. I CALLED MY HONDA DEALER AND AMERICAN HONDA HEADQUARTERS AND THEY WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE ANY DEFECT ISSUE EVEN THOUGH THERE IS NOW A CLASS ACTION SUIT AND THOUSANDS OF OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. *TR
DOOR LOCKS COME UNLOCKED AFTER LOCKING. THEY WILL NOT STAY LOCKED. *TR
LEFT REAR DOOR COMPLETELY UNLOCKED, NO MATTER DURING THE DRIVING OR STOP. *TR
DOOR LOCKS REMAIN UNLOCKED OR LOCKED. IN ONCE CASE REAR RIGHT DOOR DOES NOT LOCK WHETHER YOU DO IT MANUALLY OR AUTOMATICALLY. THIS IS LEAVING CHILDREN EXPOSED TO UNSAFE CONDITION WHERE THE DOOR MAY OPEN WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION IF THEY PLAYED WITH THE DOOR HANDLE. A WEEK LATER, FRONT RIGHT DOOR DOES NOT UNLOCK AT ALL WHETHER YOU DO IT MANUALLY OR AUTOMATICALLY. IN AN UNFORTUNATE SITUATION, ONE CANNOT UNLOCK THE DOOR TO ESCAPE THE VEHICLE IN AN UNFORTUNATE SITUATION. TO ME BOTH OF THESE ARE SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERNS. I AM GOING TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT TAKE A LOOK, BUT HONDA NEEDS TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE BY RECALLING THE DOOR LOCKING MECHANISM. *TR
FRONT DOOR DRIVERS SIDE LOCK WILL NOT STAY LOCKED. FOUND OUT IT IS THE ACTUATOR THAT IS BROKEN. THE CAR ONLY HAS 50,000 MILES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 HONDA CR-V. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LOCKS FAILED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. A PRIVATE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE ACTUATORS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 115,000.

MY CAR FIRST BEGAN AUTOMATICALLY LOCKING CONSTANTLY EVERY TIME I RELEASED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND BEGAN TO ACCELERATE WITH THE GAS PEDAL. A FEW WEEKS LATER I NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AND REAR DOORS WERE NO LONGER LOCKING. I TRIED TO LOCK THEM MANUALLY BUT THEY AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK. MY CAR IS STILL CONTINUING TO AUTOMATICALLY LOCK EVERY TIME I SWITCH FROM THE BRAKE TO GAS PEDAL ONLY NOW IT MAKES A VERY LOUD, STARTLING BUZZ SOUND FROM THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WITH EACH LOCK. THE ISSUES SEEM TO FLUCTUATE BETWEEN NOT LOCKING AT ALL, LOCKING CONSTANTLY, AND BUZZING LOUDLY WITH EACH LOCK EACH TIME I DRIVE THE CAR. IT ALSO SEEMS THAT THE CHILD LOCKS ARE ACTIVATING THEMSELVES AS YOU CANNOT OPEN EITHER PASSENGER DOOR FROM THE INSIDE OF THE CAR. THIS IS BECOMING A GRAVE SAFETY CONCERN BEING THAT I CANNOT LOCK MY DOORS PROPERLY. I BECAME VERY FRUSTRATED TO FIND THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE QUITE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH CR-V'S MADE BETWEEN 2007-2011 AND HONDA HAS NOT RECALLED THEM. FIXING THIS ISSUE THROUGH THE DEALER IS VERY COSTLY AND DOES NOT PROMISE TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. HONDA CAMPAIGNS TO "START SOMETHING SPECIAL". I HAVE YET TO SEE WHAT IT IS THAT THEY HAVE STARTED THAT IS SO "SPECIAL" WHEN IT COMES TO REPAIRING THEIR OWN MISTAKES TO BENEFIT THE SAFETY AND CONVENIENCE OF THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS. *TR
