SINCE 31,000 MILES VEHICLE HAS BEEN STALLING INTERMENTTENTLY AT MULTIPLE SPEEDS. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO DEALER ON TWO OCCASIONS, AND PROBLEM STILL OCCURRING. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
THE DEALER REPLACED A SOLENOID THE FIRST TIME. THREE WEEKS LATER THE SAME PROBLEMS EXISTS AND IS VERY UNSAFE TO DRIVE. TH VEHICLE OCCASIONALLY SHIFTS OUT OF DRIVE INTO NEUTRAL.*AK
RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER TURNED IN RIGHT FRONT SEAT TO ADJUST REAR AIR CONDITIONING CONTROLS. IN DOING THIS, PRESSURE WAS PUT ON THE SEAT BACK AND THE SEAT BACK SNAPPED AND BROKE LOOSE FROM THE SEAT BOTTOM ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE. THE SEAT WAS NO LONGER SAFE TO SIT IN BECAUSE THE SEAT BACK WAS NOT SECURED TO THE SEAT BOTTOM ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE. WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY SAID THAT THE INNER ADJUSTER STUD WAS BROKEN. AMERICAN HONDA AGREED TO PAY FOR THE PART OUT OF WARRANTY ($100) BUT THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT WANT TO HELP WITH ANY OF THE LABOR AT FIRST. IN TALKING TO AMERICAN HONDA, THEY SAID LABOR HAD TO BE HANDLED WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND THE DEALERSHIP FINALLY AGREED TO COVER $60 OF THE $160 LABOR CHARGE. THE COST IS ONE THING, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF THIS PART FOR OTHER PEOPLE. I FEEL THERE COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE HERE AND THAT THIS PART SHOULD NOT HAVE FAILED. WITH THE SMALL AMOUNT OF PRESSURE APPLIED TO THE SEAT BACK TO CAUSE IT TO BREAK, THE SEAT WOULD HAVE SURELY FAILED IN AN ACCIDENT (MUCH GREATER FORCE), POSSIBLY CAUSING SERIOUS INJURY TO ANYONE SITTING IN THE SEAT. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE PART THAT FAILED WAS DEFECTIVE AND DO NOT WANT SOMEONE ELSE TO FIND OUT AS A RESULT OF AN ACCIDENT THAT POSSIBLY INJURES SOMEONE. WE HAVE NOT HAD THE PART REPAIRED, BUT NEED TO DO SO THIS WEEK. I WILL HAVE THE DEALERSHIP SAVE THE PART FOR ME IN CASE YOU NEED IT FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. BACK TO THE COST OF REPAIR, I FEEL THAT DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE FAILURE AND POSSIBLE SAFETY ISSUES THAT HONDA SHOULD PAY FOR THE ENTIRE REPAIR. AMERICAN HONDA DID AGREE TO PAY FOR THE PART, OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE THEY FELT THAT THE PART SHOULD OT HAVE FAILED, BUT THE DEALERSHIP IS NOT WILLING TO INSTALL IT AT NO CHARGE. TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE DRIVING. DEALER "FIXED" TRANSMISSION PER MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDATION AND SPECIFICATIONS AND IT FAILED A SECOND TIME ONE WEEK AFTER FIRST REPAIR. I DID NOT HAVE AN ACCIDENT, BUT I COULD HAVE HAD I BEEN ACCELERATING TO MERGE ONTO A HIGHWAY OR ANOTHER SITUATION WHEN NOT GETTING INTO GEAR WOULD BE A DANGER.*AK
DRIVERS SIDE SLIDING DOOR OUTSIDE LATCH HAS BROKEN DUE TO TOO MUCH EFFORT TO OPEN DOOR. *AK *ET
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON EVERY TIME THE GAS TANK GETS BELOW 1/2 TANK. THE DEALER STAES THAT THEY OR HONDA CAN NOT DETERMINE WHY THIS IS HAPPENING. THEY ARE CHANGING PARTS, BUT CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY THE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON.
INTERMITTENTLY REAR DOORS WERE HARD TO OPEN. CONSUMER PULLED THE HANDLE OFF ONCE TRYING TO OPEN THE REAR DOOR. CONSUMER FELT THAT TREMENDOUS SUCTION WAS BEING FORMED BY THE DOOR GASKET. THIS SUCTION MADE IT DIFFICULT OPEN THE DOOR. *AK
2000 HONDA ODYSSEY LX. BOTH SLIDING DOORS STICK WHEN EITHER OPENING FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. NOT MAJOR INJURY - YET! I AM CONCERNED IF ANYTHING DID HAPPEN AND WE COULD NOT GET THE DOORS OPEN IN A HURRY. THEN WHAT? *JB
A CHILD WAS ABLE TO PUT HIS ENTIRE ARM IN EXHAUST PIPE, RESULTING IN BURNS.*AK

BOTH ELECTRIC SLIDING DOORS WOULD NOT CLOSE ELECTRONICALLY. WHEN ELECTRONIC DOOR IS DIABLED, AND DOORS CLLOSED MANUALLY --- THE DOORS OPEN WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. ALSO DOOR CLOSES ON IT'S OWN WITHOUT INTERVENTION MAKING IT VERY DANGEROUS FOR KIDS. ALSO DOORS SAFETY SYSTEM (NOT CLOSING AND CRUSHING SOMEONE WHEN IN THE PATH OF CLOSING ELECTRONIC DOOR) DOES NOT WORK.*AK

LEFT POWER SLIDING DOOR ACTS LIKE IT IS LOCKED EVEN THOUGH ALL OTHER DOORS NOT LOCKED. RIGHT POWER DOOR WILL NOT LATCH COMPLETELY. THIS WAS SECOND TIME FOR THIS DOOR, AND HAS HAPPENED ON LEFT DOOR PREVIOUSLY.*AK
I AM A SHARP 62 YEAR OLD WITH A PERFECT DRIVING RECORD. I WAS PULLING ONTO AN OFF-STREET PARKING SPACE AT A SLOWED CRAWL PACE. MY FOOT WAS ALREADY ON THE BRAKE BECAUSE I HAD SLOWED TO ENTER THE PARKING SPACE AND I APPLIED MORE PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE VEHICLE JUMPED INTO A HIGH ACCELERATION MOVING THE PARKED CAR IN FRONT OF ME 5 FEET WHICH SLOWED ME DOWN. I CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP ONLY WHEN I TURNED OFF THE KEY AND REMOVED MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE. DO NOT DISCRIMINATE BECAUSE I AM 62 - THIS WAS NOT OPERATOR ERROR. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THE PASSENGER SIDE TIRE BLEWOUT, PRIOR TO THE BLOWOUT THE TIRES HAD BEEN PROPERLY CHECKED AND ROTATED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS (FIRESTONE AFFINITY P215/65R16). NLM
FAMILY WAS DRIVING HOME ON HIGHWAY AND VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE. CONSUMER'S HUSBAND HAD TO REALLY HOLD VEHICLE STEADY TO KEEP CONTROL. WHEN HE WAS ABLE TO PULL VEHICLE OVER OUT OF TRAFFIC HE CHECKED IT, AND FOUND THAT FRONT PASSENGER TIRE HAD CAME APART. FIRESTONE, SIZE P215/65/R16.
DOOR LOCK SYSTEM AUTOMATICALLY ENGAGED WITH INFANT IN CAR IN SUMMER HEAT. FIRE AND RESCUE WERE CALLED IN AN ATTEMPT TO GET INTO VEHICLE, BUT EVENTUALLY HAD TO BREAK WINDOW TO GAIN ACCESS AND REMOVE CHILD. MINIVAN HAS BEEN IN SHOP SEVERAL TIMES FOR SLIDING DOORS NOT SHUTTING AND OR LOCKS NOT ENGAGING, OR DOORS OPENING WHILE VEHICLE IS MOVING ON ROAD. HONDA REFUSES TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY, BUT HAS ADMITTED TO US IN THE PAST THAT THEY ARE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE DOORS ON THIS VEHICLE.
CONSUMER WANTS TO REPORT EXCESSIVE WEAR ON ALL FOUR TIRES ON A 2000 HONDA ODYSSEY. ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT, AFFINITY TIRES. TIRE SIZE P215/65R16, DOT# UNAVAILABLE. DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *MRTHE DEALER REFUSED TO COMPENSATE CONSUMER FOR NEW TIRES. *JG

MANUAL SLIDING DOORS WOULD LOCK UP, AND UNABLE TO OPEN FROM EITHER SIDE. DEALER NOTIFIED, AND MADE SOME REPAIRS. LATER ON SAME PROBLEM HAVE REOCCURRED. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE US WITH ANY FURTHER DETAILS ON THIS MATTER . *AK
DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR MAT WILL ROLL UP UNDERNEATH ACCELERATOR PEDAL AND WILL INTERFERE WITH DRIVER'S FEET. CONSUMER WAS WORRIED THAT THIS COULD POSSIBLY INTERFERE WITH APPLICATION OF BRAKE PEDAL. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION/ATTACHMENTS.*AK

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 HONDA ODYSSEY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE SLIDING SIDE DOOR OPENED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION BUT THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE THE DIAGNOSIS INFORMATION. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECURRING FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS IN THE VEHICLE WOULD FAIL INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED OR REPAIRED FOR THE ELECTRICAL FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000. UPDATED 6/10/14*CN
DRIVER WAS STOPPED AT A CROSSWALK AND WAS STRUCK FROM THE REAR AT A SPEED OF 25-35 MPH. DRIVER WAS WEARING A SEAT BELT AND THROWN FORWARD AND BACK WHEN HIT . AS DRIVER CAME BACK THE SEAT BENT BACK/BROKE AND BENT TO THE RIGHT AT A 15-25% ANGLE CAUSING INJURIES. *AK

DT: THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED A MALFUNCTIONING OF THE SEAT BELTS IN THE MIDDLE ROW OF THE VEHICLE. THEY HAVE BEEN REPLACED BY THE DEALER SIX TIMES. THE SEAT BELTS WORKED CORRECTLY FOR A SHORT TIME THEN FAILED TO RETRACT. SLIDING DOOR HIT REAR QUARTER PANEL WINDOW, CAUSING WINDOW TO SHATTER. DOOR WAS MOTORIZED, AND NOT CONTROLLED. *AK
CONSUMER HAD VEHICLE SERVICED FOR POWER SLIDING DOOR. CONSUMER COMPLAINED IS THAT DEFECT WAS NOT REPAIRED, AND DOOR COULD CRUSH A SMALL CHILD SINCE IT HAS ENOUGH FORCE BEHIND IT TO SHOVE A 200 POUND MAN OUT OF WAY.*AK
I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY HONDA ODYSSEY 2000 SLIDING DOORS SINCE THE YEAR BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERS MULTIPLE TIMES. THEY WERE NEVER ABLE TO FIX IT. THEY WOULD NOT EVEN TRY WHEN IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. BOTH SLIDING DOORS WORK OFF AND ON, BUT THE PASSENGER SIDE WILL NOT LATCH CLOSED ANY MORE WITHOUT HAVING TO MANUALLY PUSH IT FROM THE OUT SIDE. TO KEEP THEM FROM BUZZING WE TURN THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH OFF, WHICH IS A REAL SAFETY HAZARD. NO ONE CAN OPEN THE DOORS UNTIL THE SWITCH IS TURNED BACK ON. THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHEN EVERYONE IN THE CAR HAS TO GET OUT THE DRIVERS FRONT SEAT BECAUSE NEITHER SLIDING DOOR WILL WORK CONSISTENTLY. IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE TO EXIT THE CAR QUICKLY IN AN EMERGENCY. THE DOORS CAN BE OPENED MANUALLY ONLY IF YOU ARE A STRONG ADULT. *TR

WHEN TRYING TO OPEN SLIDING DOOR WITH REMOTE CONTROL IT WILL NOT OPEN. SOMETIMES COULD OPEN ON ITS OWN WHILE DRIVING. *AK
TRANSMISSION IS FAILING, UNABLE TO SHIFT INTO LOWER GEARS, DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.*AK
WITHIN THE FIRST ONE OR TWO INCHES OF TRAVEL, THE ACCELERATOR STICKS, WHEN GENTLE PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO START OUT OR ACCELERATES SLOWLY THE ACCELERATOR DOES NOT MOVE, BUT WHEN ADDITIONAL PRESSURE IS APPLIED, THE ACCELERATOR JUMPS A HALF INCH OR SO, THIS MAKES IT VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBILE TO START SMOOTHLY FROM A STANDING STOP OR, ONCE MOVING, TO GRADUALLY AND SMOOTHLY ACCELERATE, CONSUMER HAS HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED BY PERFORMING CLEAN CARBON BUILD UP FROM THROTTLE PLATE WHICH STILL HAS NOT RESOLVED PROBLEM, ALSO WAS ADVISED BY DEALERSHIP THAT VEHICLE WAS COMPARED TO ANOTHER ODYSSEY AND SHOWED THE SAME CHARACTERISTICS AND THE HONDA TECH-LINE WAS CONTACTED, WAS ADVISED THAT OTHER HONDA ODYSSEY'S WOULD BE CHECKED ONCE THEY CAME IN. *JB
CONSUMER STATES IN THE FIRST ONE OR TWO INCHES OF TRAVEL, THE ACCELERATOR STICKS WHEN GENTLE PRESSURE IS APPLIED TO START OUT OR ACCELERATE SLOWLY THE ACCELERATOR DOES NOT MOVE, BUT WHEN ADDITIONAL PRESSURE IS APPLIED THE ACCELERATOR JUMPS A HALF INCH, THIS MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO START SMOOTHLY FROM A STANDING STOP OR ONCE MOVING TO GRADUALLY ACCELERATE SMOOTHLY, CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE IN TO BE INSPECTED AND DEALERSHIP CLEANED CARBON BUILD UP FROM THE THROTTLE PLATE, HOWEVER THAT DID NOT RESOLVE PROBLEM. *JB
3 PREVIOUS TIMES THE ELECTRIC DOORS WENT FOR SERVICING TO THE DEALERSHIP.3 TIMES NEW SENSORS WERE INSTALLED. LAST INCIDENT 1/28/01 THE PASSENGER'S BACK DOOR WOULD NOT COMPLETELY CLOSE/LOCK IN PLACE, AND WOULD NOT OPEN EITHER. A VACUUM SOUND WAS MADE AS THE DOOR WOULD NOT PROPERLY CLOSE WITH AIR COMING INTO THE VAN. SIMILIAR TO CABIN AIR PRESSURE FAILURE ON A PLANE. IT WAS TERRIFYING AS WE HAD TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE TO GET HOME AND COULD NOT ENGAGE THE DOOR TO SHUT. THOUGHT IT MIGHT DISENGAGE WILL IN OPERATION.NO MANUAL OVERRIDE EXISTS FOR THE ELECTRIC DOOR FAILURE! AFRAID FOR FAMILY SAFETY.
THE PASSENGER SLIDING DOOR DID NOT OPEN WHEN THE DOOR WAS UNLOCKED FROM THE INSIDE. *JB
TRANSMISSION FAILED AND WAS REPLACED. *SLC
THE ENGINE LIGHT AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON SEVERAL TIMES. EACH TIME IT WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR THIS PROBLEM AND THE DEALER SAID THE PROBLEM WAS THE EGR VALVE SYSTEM. ALSO, THE EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION SYSTEM FAILURE CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO LURCH FORWARD AND STALL WHILE DRIVING. *YH
WHILE DRIVING BUZZER GOES OFF TO INDICATE SLIDING DOORS ARE OPEN. THERE WAS RECALL 00V119000, BUT THIS VEHICLE WAS NOT AFFECTED DUE TO VIN. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN TO DEALER 3 TIMES, CANNOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM.*AK
STEERING COLUMN AND INDICATOR LIGHTS SHOW THAT VEHICLE IS IN "R" BUT IS ACTUALLY IN NEUTRAL WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS USED. HAS OCCURRED ON THREE OCCASIONS W/ 2 DIFFERENT DRIVERS. THIS IS ESPECIALLY HAZARDOUS WHEN PARKED DOWNHILL. *AK
SLIDING DOORS ON BOTH SIDES HAVE STUCK MULTIPLE TIMES RESULTING IN BOTH DOOR HANDLES BEING BROKEN OFF. IT IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE WE ARE UNABLE TO OPEN DOORS EASILY. THEY HAVE STUCK MULTIPLE TIMES EVER SINCE WE BOUGHT THE VAN AND WE HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THEY HAVEN'T KNOWN WHAT TO DO TO KEEP THEM FROM STICKING.
WHEN THE TEMPERATURE CHANGES THE SLIDING DOORS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE BECOME STUCK. CONSUMER CANNOT GET THE DOORS OPEN. DEALER SUGGESTED USING A SILICONE SPRAY ON THE DOOR SEALS. CONSUMER CALLED THE DEALER ABOUT THIS PROBLEM SEVERAL TIMES BUT RECEIVED NO HELP. *AK *NM

SINCE DAY ONE OF OWNING OUR 2000 HONDA ODYSSEY LX, BOTH SLIDING DOORS STICK. RECENTLY, THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE BROKE. DEALER HAS ONLY GREASED THE DOOR, WHICH ONLY PREVENTS THE SEAL OR VACUUM OR WHATEVER FOR A SHORT PERIOD. *LA
SIDE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. LATCH FROM EITHER INSIDE OR OUTSIDE APPEARS TO PARTIALLY UNLATCHED, BUT NOT ENOUGH TO ALLOW THE DOOR TO BE PULLED OPEN. CHILDREN CANNOT GET OUT OF THE CAR. ALSO GAS TANK DOOR IS STUCK OPEN, WHEN MANUALLY CLOSING IT THE ELECTRIC LOCKS LOCK THE CAR FROM THE OUTSIDE! IT IS POSSIBLE TO LOCK YOURSELF OUT OF THE CAR.*AK
