VEHICLE GOES INTO "LIMP MODE" WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE INTERSTATE. YOU CANNOT SHIFT OR ACCELERATE. INDICATOR FLASHES EMISSIONS SYSTEM PROBLEM, TRANSMISSION PROBLEM, AWD PROBLEM ALONG WITH MULTIPLE LIGHTS ON THE DASH. THE DEALERSHIP AS WELL AS HONDA ADVISES CODES WERE CLEARED AND CONTACT THEM AGAIN IF PROBLEMS REOCCURS. THIS IS THE SECOND 2016 PILOT ELITE WE HAVE OWNED WITH THIS PROBLEM!
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, IF I GO OVER CERTAIN TYPES OF ROUGH ROAD, I.E. RAILROAD TRACKS, THE ENGINE WILL STOP AND THE CAR SHUT OFF. IT IS A MOMENTARY, LESS THAN 1 SEC, SHUT DOWN. IT HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 3 TIMES IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS. I AM DRIVING 5 MPH OR SLOWER AS I AM GOING OVER A ROUGH BUMP.
Honda Pilot 2016 auto idle feature stalls engine completely when recovering from idle to Run (e.g. complete stop at a signal or busy traffic, engine goes to auto idle and upon releasing the brake the engine stalls). Issue started during warranty period and multiple repair attempts were made by Honda dealership, replaced battery and starter motor (50% paid out of pocket though the car was in warranty, 50% was courtesy credit from Honda). Even after multiple attempts the issue remains unresolved. Honda/Dealership recommended to turn off the feature and use the car. This is a safety issue as engine keeps stalling and only starts after full power cycle (about 1-2 mins).
KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM: THIS HAS BEEN A RECURRING ISSUE. THE HONDA DEALER KEEPS SAYING IT'S THE BATTERY, REPLACES THE BATTERY, FIXES THE ISSUE FOR A DAY. THE NEXT DAY, THE KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM COMES BACK ON THE DASH BOARD. MUST NOT BE A KEY FOB BATTERY ISSUE.
MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN CUTTING OFF, ALL POWER INCLUDING ALL COMPUTER SCREENS/DASHBOARD/STEERING, WHICH LAST 2-5 SECONDS, THEN CUTS BACK ON. THE RPM WILL REV UP TO THE 4-6 THOUSAND RANGE AND AT TIMES THE VEHICLE WILL NO GO OVER 45MPH. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT 35 MPH TO 70MPH. WHILE IN PARK, ABSOLUTELY NO GEAR ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE WILL LURCH FORWARD AND BACKWARD AS THOUGH IT WAS IN GEAR. MY FOOT WILL NOT EVEN BE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND IT WILL MOVE. LAST WEEK THE CAR WAS TURNED ON, PUT IN DRIVE, I PUSHED THE ACCELERATOR, THE RPM'S WENT TO 4000 AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT MOVE. I LOOKED DOWN TO MAKE SURE IT WAS IN DRIVE, WHICH IS WAS, AS I LOOKED UP THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD 2-3 FEET. THE EMISSIONS SYSTEM, LANE ASSIST LIGHT COME ON RANDOMLY. IT WILL TELL ME "STEERING REQUIRED" EVEN WHEN I AM DRIVING AND DO NOT HAVE THE LANE ASSIST ON. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED MULTIPLE PARTS, INCLUDING "COMPUTER UPDATES", THE RADAR SENSING SYSTEM, BUT THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND HAVE TOLD ME THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I HAVE TAKE THE VEHICLE IN AT LEAST 6-7 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS. THE CAR IS UNSAFE, STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND THE DEALER TOLD ME "YOU ARE STUCK WITH IT". THIS CAR IS A HAZARD TO MYSELF, MY FAMILY AND ANYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD. I HAVE TRIED TO DEAL WITH HONDA CORPORATE AND THEY WILL NOT RESPOND. I BELIEVE, FROM MY RESEARCH, THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL THAT HONDA REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE.
THE TPMS SYSTEM ISN'T MONITORING THE WHEELS SENSORS. THE SENSORS WERE CHECK AND ARE GOOD. THE PROBLEM IS THAT TPMS SYSTEM THAT NOT APPEAR IN THE CONTROL PANEL TO RESET THIS. THE LIGHT OF TPMS SYSTEM IS ON ALL THE TIME. THIS OCCURED TO 37,000 MILLES APROX.
MY 2016 HONDA PILOT DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY. THE "EMISSIONS" CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON THREE DIFFERENT TIMES, ALL WITH LESS THAN 40,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE HONDA DEALER CLAIMS THAT THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM EACH TIME; BUT THAT'S NOT THE CASE. THE LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON IN DURING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS.
THE VEHICLE STARTS TO STUTTER WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING THE RPM GAUGE FLUCTUATES GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHILE MAINTAINING SPEED. BROUGHT VEHICLE IN TO HONDA DEALERSHIP THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS FUEL INJECTOR FAILED AND IT WASN'T THE FIRST TIME OF THEM HEARING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. MANY INSTANCES SEEN ALL OVER THE INTERNET ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE.
OIL LEAKING UNDERNEATH CAR. THIS SHOWS UP AS A PUDDLE IN MY GARAGE - IT'S A SLOW LEAK. I THINK IT'S PROBABLY THE SAME ISSUE AS WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH THE OTHER 2016 HONDA PILOTS AND THE SEAL ON THE OIL CONTAINER, BUT MY SPECIFIC CAR HASN'T BEEN FLAGGED.
PASSENGER'S SEAT AIRBAG CONNECTOR WILL NOT CONNECT TO THE ORIGINAL AIRBAG.
MY 2016 HONDA PILOT WAS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD WHEN I BEGAN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH IT. WHILE DRIVING, MY CAR BEGAN ACTING STRANGE AND I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE IMMEDIATELY.THE ENGINE KEPT HESITATING AND SHAKING WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS, ALMOST CAUSING SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH ALL CAME ON AND WOULD NOT TURN OFF. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP I HAD TO PAY FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST $125 AND THEY SAID I NEEDED NEW FUEL INJECTORS ON MY ALMOST NEW CAR.THE DEALER SAID IT WAS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $2000 OUT OF POCKET.I COULDNT AFFORD IT. CALLED HONDA CORPORATE, THEY ALSO REFUSED TO HELP.SO I TOOK IT TO A FRIEND MECHANIC WHO COULDNT BELIEVE I NEEDED NEW FUEL INJECTORS WHEN I ONLY HAD 60K MILES ON THE CAR. HE REPLACED ALL THE FUEL INJECTORS AND THE CAR WORKED FOR A WHILE. HOWEVER, AFTER DRIVING ANOTHER 40K MILES I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AGAIN. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THIS CAR AND IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.I HAVE READ ONLINE THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE DUE TO NEW DIRECT INJECTION TECHNOLOGY THAT WAS INSTALLED IN THE PILOTS AND HONDA IS REFUSING TO DO A RECALL OR FIX THE ISSUE. I CANNOT AFFORD TO REPLACE MY FUEL INJECTORS EVERY 40K MILES. I STILL OWE MONEY ON THE CAR AND HAVE 2 MORE YEARS LEFT TO PAY. I AM STUCK WITH THIS HORRIBLE UNSAFE VEHICLE UNTIL THEN.I NEED IT TO GET TO WORK. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM HONDA AGAIN. I HAVE SUBMITTED A COPY OF THE INVOICE FROM THE SECOND MECHANIC DIAGNOSTIC I WENT TO AFTER I WENT TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP. I AM STILL SEARCHING FOR THE FIRST HONDA MECHANIC DIAGNOSTIC INVOICE.
EMMISSION SYSTEM PROBLEMS. DEALER SAY ITS A " P0430" -POWERTRAIN CATALYST SYSTEM EFFICIENCY BELOW THRESHOLD
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Pilot. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 MPH, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle hesitated and started jerking. Additionally, the vehicle occasionally stalled and the failure was intermittent. The contact stated that the check engine, emissions, and stabilitrak warning lights were illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed and it was determined that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The catalytic converter and fuel injectors were replaced by an independent mechanic. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.
SOMETIMES THE RPM DROPS AND THE VEHICLE HAS A HARD SHIFT JERKING THE CAR FORWARD. IT HAPPENS ABOUT ONCE EVERY OTHER WEEK BUT DOESN'T LAST LONG. UNFORTUNATELY, WHEN IT HAPPENS I CAN'T TAKE THE CAR IN BECAUSE I'M AT WORK AND WHEN I DO TAKE IT IN IT DOESN'T HAPPEN. THIS HAPPENS RANDOMLY WHEN I DRIVE. DOESN'T MATTER WHAT SPEED I DRIVE AT. I WAS ABLE TO RECORD IT WHEN IT HAPPENED AND BROUGHT IT IN TO THE MECHANIC BUT THEY SAID IF THEY CAN'T RECREATE IT THEN IT'S NOT AN ISSUE. I'M AFRAID OF THIS BECOMING A BIGGER ISSUE CAUSING ME TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. HONDA WAS NO HELP. TOLD ME IF I GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE THEN THE INSURANCE WILL TAKE CARE OF IT. HAVING KIDS, I DON'T WANT TO "WAIT" FOR AN ACCIDENT TO HAPPEN BEFORE THEY DECIDE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE ISSUE IS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA PILOT. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE AND WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE AUTO IDLE STOP FEATURE ACTIVATED NORMALLY, BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY RESTART WHEN THE DRIVER RELEASED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. DURING THE FAILURE, SEVERAL INSTRUCTIONAL PROMPTS APPEARED, EXPLAINING HOW TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. ON ONE OCCASION, THE VEHICLE COULD NOT BE RESTARTED AND WAS TOWED TO STERLING MCCALL HONDA (22575 HWY 59 NORTH, KINGWOOD, TX 77339). WHILE AT THE DEALER, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY AND THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the Auto START/STOP fuel-saving feature malfunctioned and the vehicle would not immediately restart after lifting off the brake pedal. The contact indicated that the failure had occurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure and no service was performed. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 22,000.
The contact owns a 2016 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that while driving approximately 80-85 MPH uphill, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the warning message "Transmission Overheating" was illuminated. The contact stated that he continued to drive at a slower speed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that they could not replicate the failure. The contact stated that the failure reoccurred while driving uphill. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer, Moss Bros. Honda (27990 Eucalyptus Ave, Moreno Valley, CA 92555) who did not diagnose the vehicle but informed the contact that the transmission fluid needed to be flushed and replaced. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the transmission fluid was replaced. The contact also stated that the steering wheel was shaking whenever the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to the independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the front rotors needed to be replaced. The contact stated that he was unable to replace the front rotors himself as there were abnormally small compared to the replacement parts. The contact also stated that the front rotors were abnormally smaller than the rear rotors of the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and a case was opened. The contact was awaiting a call back from the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.
CAR WON'T START: KEYLESS START PROBLEM ERROR. I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY TWO TIMES IN 2 YEARS AND DOESN'T FIX THE ISSUE.
THE CAR DISPLAYS KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM STARTED OVER A YEAR AGO AND I WAS CHARGED $140 TO RUN DIAGNOSTICS BUT NOTHING CAME BACK AS AN ANSWER. THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS! I BOUGHT THIS CAR BECAUSE OF IT'S SAFETY FEATURES, AND NOW I DO NOT FEEL SAFE EVERY DAY BECAUSE I AM ALWAYS WONDERING IF THE CAR WILL START. I HAVE THREE KIDS AND MANY RESPONSIBILITIES. MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE BOUGHT A HONDA CIVIC, HONDA CR-V, HONDA ELEMENT AND A 2007 HONDA PILOT BUT HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED A NAGGING PROBLEM LIKE THIS ONE BEFORE. PLEASE ADVISE! *TR
SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED WHILE BEING DRIVEN ON THE INTERSTATE. WAS NOT HIT BY ANY MOVING OBJECT.
2016 HONDA PILOT. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO CLOGGED FUEL INJECTORS AND FUEL PIPE. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED TO COVER THE PARTS, BUT NOT THE LABOR. *JS
I HAVE A "KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM" MESSAGE ON SINCE THE CAR IS MORE THAN 37,000 MILES. TRIED CHANGING BATTERY BUT IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. IT DOES NOT SEEM TO AFFECT THE DRIVING. AT 61,000 MILES THE DEALER RESET THE CODE BUT AFTER ONE DAY, THE MESSAGE CAME BACK. THIS ISSUE DISABLED THE AUTOLOCK FEATURE AS YOU WALK AWAY. NOT SURE WHAT ELSE IS BEING DISABLED BY THIS.
The brakes have been repaired and replaced repeatedly. The vehicle locked down yesterday 2/25/25 when the driver was headed to school to pick up the children. The car came to a complete halt and was a danger to others with a "transmission engine" warning light on the dash. This vehicle has numerous repairs in addition to being too dangerous to drive down a two lane road due to the severity of the following issues: •Abrupt jerking or 'juddering' while accelerating, which can cause sudden unintended movement. •Noticeable hesitation when pressing the gas pedal, impacting the vehicle's response time. •Unusual clunking noises or hard downshifting, indicating potential internal damage.
16 HONDA PILOT TOURING AWD SMELLS OF A VERY, VERY STRONG ODOR OF EXHAUST/GASOLINE COMING INTO THE VEHICLE AT IDLE. ALSO, VEHICLE SMELLS LIKE GASOLINE IN MY GARAGE WHEN I COME OUT IN THE MORNING. MANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS LISTED ONLINE. REMEDY? IT IS SO BAD THAT I AM GETTING HEADACHES AND CAN'T DRIVE THE VEHICLE. GOING TO SERVICE ON 02/21/2018.
I'VE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY CAR STALLING WHEN I TRY TO DRIVE AFTER BEING STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME BUT AT RANDOM TIMES. I HAD THIS ISSUE BACK IN FEBRUARY 2018 AND TOOK IT TO MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER IN JACKSONVILLE AND THEY HADN'T SEEN THE ISSUE BEFORE. THEY REPORTED IT TO AMERICAN HONDA, TOOK A FEW DAYS AND THEN REPLACED THE STARTER AND SAID IT WAS A FAILED STARTER ISSUE. IT WAS WORKING FINE UNTIL AUGUST 2018 WHEN IT STALLED AGAIN. IT INSTRUCTED ME TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN START THE ENGINE AGAIN. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALER AN HOUR AFTER IT HAPPENED BUT THEY WANTED ME TO LEAVE MY CAR SO THEY COULD REPORT IT AND I'M A STAY AT HOME MOM AND NEED TO HAVE MY VEHICLE SO I TOLD HIM I'D TRY TO BRING IT BACK ANOTHER DAY BUT INSTEAD DECIDED TO REPORT THE PROBLEM DIRECTLY TO HONDA TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY UPDATE OR CORRECTION AT THIS TIME. HONDA DIRECTED ME TO REPORT IT TO A DEALER SO I'VE SINCE REPORTED THIS ISSUE TO ANOTHER DEALER IN ST. AUGUSTINE, FLORIDA WHO IS AWARE OF MY VEHICLE HAVING THIS ISSUE. TO DATE, IT HAS NOT OCCURRED AGAIN BUT I ANTICIPATE THAT THIS WILL BE A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THE CAR IF IT WASN'T A STARTER ISSUE. THE ISSUE SEEMS TO OCCUR WHEN I'M IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND I PRESS DOWN ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND GO TO RELEASE IT TO DRIVE THE CAR WHEN THE ENGINE IS GOING INTO THE AUTO-IDLE FUNCTION - ALMOST AS IF IT HESITATES TO START BACK UP BECAUSE IT WAS TOO QUICK OF A RESPONSE FOR THE AUTO-IDLE FUNCTION TO TAKE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA PILOT. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE JERKED, STALLED, AND ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HONDA OF AVENTURA (2150 NE 163RD ST, NORTH MIAMI BEACH, FL 33162) NUMEROUS TIMES. THE BATTERY WAS REPLACED AND THE SOFTWARE WAS UPDATED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE FAILURES WERE NORMAL. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HOLMAN HONDA (12 E SUNRISE BLVD, FORT LAUDERDALE, FL 33304) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT DIRECTLY NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER OF THE FAILURE. EACH DEALER CLAIMED TO HAVE NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND REMAINED IN THE POSSESSION OF HONDA OF AVENTURA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THIS IS A 2016 HONDA PILOT AND THE ENGINE STUTTERS/JUDDER BETWEEN 30-50 MILES PER HOUR APPARENTLY IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM, WENT TO THE DEALER FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION WAS GOOD FOR 6 MONTHS THEN BACK, I THINK THERE IS A DESIGN PROBLEM AS MANY ARE DESCRIBING SAME PROBLEM
POWER DRIVERS SEAT BROKE TWO YEARS AGO +. WILL NOT GO UP OR DOWN. HONDA WANTS $450 TO REPAIR. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE BROKEN AT 3 YEARS OLD.
IT HAPPENED TO MYSELF W/ MY CHILD IN MY CAR & THEN MY SPOUSE DRIVING MY CAR ALONE. HOWEVER THE SAME PROBLEM IS KNOWN TO HONDA BUT UNTIL SOMEONE IS KILLED, THEY ARE REFUSING TO ACKNOWLEDGE, THE CAMSHAFT SHUTTING OFF ALL CONTROLS WHILE DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY IS COMPLETELY DANGEROUS. AS AN EXPERIENCED DRIVER, I WAS ABLE TO AVOID A COLLUSION ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY SURROUNDED BY TRACTOR TRAILERS GOING 65MPH. ALTHOUGH THE HONDA DEALER HAS REPLACED THE CAMSHAFT TWICE ON MY 2016 HONDA PILOT WITH LESS THAN 46,000, I AM FEARFUL THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. WE ARE LEFT WITH A BALANCE TO PAY OFF, THE SAFETY OF OUR FAMILY WHILE DRIVING THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE AND JUST CUT OUT LOSSES. HOWEVER, THIS WILL NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT AFFORD TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE. I HAD A 2006 HONDA PILOT WITH VERY LITTLE PROBLEMS FOR 10 YEARS, 95K MILES ON IT. IT WAS WHY I PURCHASED ANOTHER HONDA PILOT. HOWEVER, I SPENT A LOT MORE MONEY. THIS 2016 PILOT WAS $30K WITH THE $10K TRADE IN. WE MAINTAIN ALL OUR VEHICLES AS WELL AS GARAGE KEEP THEM TO PROTECT THEM FROM THE HARSH PA WINTER ELEMENTS. AS A DRIVER FOR OVER 32 YEARS AND ZERO ACCIDENTS, I DO NOT WANT TO BE THE CAUSE OF A SERIOUS ACCIDENT BECAUSE HONDA IS NEGLECTING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS NEW GERMAN MADE ENGINE AS WELL AS THE TRANSMISSION IS A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM. THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER PROBLEMS LIKE THIS ONE THAT BEGAN ONE YR AFTER PURCHASE I BROUGHT TO IMMEDIATE ATTENTION OF THE DEALER. I AM SURE THEY REPORT THESE FINDINGS TO THE MANUFACTURE AS WELL. THE REMOTE KEY STOPPED WORKING, SEVERAL INTERIOR OUTLETS FOR CHARGING HAS STOPPED WORKING, A DOME LIGHT DOESN'T WORK, THE GARAGE DOOR OPENER CAN'T BE PROGRAMMED ANYMORE AND OTHER FEATURES ARE NO LONGER WORKING. The components that have failed are the fuel injectors and catalytic converter. This is according to the Honda dealerships diagnostics. Whenever I press the gas the car hesitates, shudders, shakes, and wont accelerate. This has been an ongoing issue for the past 4 years when the car was 1 year old. It has gradually become worse.My children's safety as well as my safety are put at risk every time I drive. But one example was when I was entering the highway, I tried to speed up and couldn't and almost crashed with another car because my car wasn't functioning correctly and I wasnt able to merge correctly. The dealership has confirmed the issue but wont take responsibility on fixing it. They want me to pay out of pocket. No it has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, etc. At first there were no warning lamps, but there was a slight hesitation. Eventually, when the car started getting worse, the emissions light as well as check engine light came on. Took it it to the dealership and they got Catalytic converter P0430 error code. However, the dealership kept saying it was fuel injectors issue since it was no longer under warranty and they wanted me to pay for it. Fuel injector warranty is covered until 36k miles and I was at 60k miles.I did replace the fuel injectors with a different mechanic and that didn't fix the problem. Still drove the same. Now that I am over 100k miles on my vehicle, they are saying it's the catalytic converter because that warranty ran out at 80k miles and I would have to pay for it. I am not the only 2016 Honda Pilot owner having these issues and Honda is aware of it but wont take responsibility for it. I cannot afford to get a new car. This year model came out faulty and Honda has made bulletins regarding the issue, but wont cover the cost to fix the cars. They should be held responsible.

THE KEYLESS START SYSTEM APPEARS TO BE FAULTY. THE VEHICLE HAS BEGUN TO INTERMITTENTLY, BUT INCREASINGLY, SHOW A KEYLESS START ERROR THAT PREVENTS THE VEHICLE FROM BEING STARTED WITH THE STARTER BUTTON. MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS ARE SOMETIMES NECESSARY TO GET THE VEHICLE TO START. A CRITICAL SYSTEM SUCH AS THIS SHOULD NOT FAIL IN THIS FASHION, COMPLETELY DISABLING THE VEHICLE, GIVEN ITS CURRENT MILEAGE OF 44,610.
ON MY 2016 HONDA PILOT, ALL THE LIGHTS COME ON IN THE DASHBOARD EX; VSC, CHECK ENGINE, ABS, POWER STEERING. TOOK IT TO HONDA AND THEY PERFORMED A SOFTWARE UPDATE. TWO DAYS LATER THE SAME PROBLEMS OCCURS.
DURING EXTREMELY COLD WEATHER, ALL SYSTEM FAILURE INDICATIONS SCROLL ON THE DISPLAY. HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY AND WILL RESET ITSELF OVER TIME. I RENDERS THE SYSTEMS USELESS AS WELL. ALARMS INCLUDE HILL START ASSIST, TRAILER STABILITY ASSIST, ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION ASSIST, EMISSIONS, AWD AND EPS. MANY OF THESE SYSTEMS ARE SAFETY FEATURES AND NO LONGER RESPOND UNTIL BATTERY CABLE IS REMOVED OR RESET AFTER TIME.
The stop/start system will fail to restart the engine and stall the vehicle. This is the system that is designed to shut the engine off when at stop lights in order to save fuel. There are times when the engine will stall when it attempts to start the engine again. This does not happen all the time but has happened frequently enough that my wife and I have both stalled at the same intersection. You can turn off the stop/start feature each time you get in the car but we do not always remember. When it does stall all the lights on the dash flash and it's normally a frantic moment of trying to restart the car while cars behind you are honking. So far we have been able to restart it each time but I'm concerned this won't always be the case. We've taken this in to Honda and they don't have a solution or even really seem to acknowledge it. This is also a safety issue since my wife is working at various hospitals and some are in higher crime areas. I do not want her to stall there. I also don't want someone to hit us if they try to go when the light is green and we are stuck in front of them. There should at least be a permanent override of the system so we don't have to remember to turn it off each time we are in the car. That could completely solve the issue.
2016 HONDA HAD RECALL FOR FUEL TANK LEAKAGE. MY VIN OUT OF THAT RANGE BUT I NOTICE RECENTLY MY HONDA PILOT 2016 HAVE LEAKAGE TOO. WHEN FUELING I SAW UNDERNEATH CAR THERE'S FUEL DROPPING. HONDA SAID MY CAR NOT IN THE RANGE. SO I WANT TO CLAIM REPORT THERE IS MORE CAR OUT THERE EXPOSED SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENTAL HAZARD SITUATION.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE HOOD WAS BOUNCING AND WHEN A SEMI TRUCK PASSED ME THE HOOD WOULD BOUNCE UP TO 1 INCH. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER AND THEY ADJUSTED IT BUT IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. NOW, AFTER A FEW MONTHS THE HOOD LOOKS LIKE IT IS GOING TO COME OFF OF THE CAR AND PEOPLE PASSING ME ARE INDICATING THAT THE HOOD IS COMING OFF. RUDOLF HONDA SAID THAT IT IS UP TO SPEC. I AM BRINGING IT BACK TO THE DEALER SOON.

THE VARIOUS WARNING INDICATORS AND GAUGES CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE TO DETERMINE IF THEY COULD PROVIDE A SOLUTION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
VEHICLE RANDOMLY CUTS POWER TO ENGINE. WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, STABILITY CONTROL SYMBOL FLASHES WHEN ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED AND POWER IS CUT FROM THE ENGINE CAUSING VEHICLE TO SLOW. RELEASING ACCELERATOR ALLOWS VEHICLE TO COAST AND STABILITY CONTROL SYMBOL ON DASH GOES AWAY. AS SOON AS ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED AGAIN, STABILITY CONTROL SYMBOL FLASHES AND POWER IS ONCE AGAIN CUT FROM ENGINE. VERY SCARY ON FREEWAY. PULLING OVER AND PUTTING INTO PARK AND DRIVE DOES NOT CORRECT ISSUE. VEHICLE MUST BE TURNED OFF AND TURNED BACK ON TO RESET. IMAGINE HOW SCARY THIS WILL BE DOING 70 ON THE FREEWAY AND POWER BEING CUT FROM THE ENGINE SURROUNDED BY TRAFFIC AND UNABLE TO GET TO THE SHOULDER TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESET THE SYSTEM.
I AM EXPERIENCING WATER LEAKING BY THE PASSENGER SEAT. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND I WAS EXPLAINED THAT THEY WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE WHOLE FRONT PART INCLUDING THE STEERING WHEEL TO BE ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC THERE IS A SEALANT ON RUBBER BAND THAT IT UNDERNEATH THE WINDSHIELD THAT HAS TO BE REPLACED SINCE THE BAND IS REALLY TIN AND NEED TO BE REPLACE SINCE THE QUALITY OF IT IS NOT SO GOOD AS THE ONE THAT WAS USED IN THE 2014-2015 PILOTS. SO I LIVE IN A STATE WHERE IS ALWAYS RAINING AND SO THE WATER IS GETTING IN TO MY CAR, AND I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY CHANGE THE TOWELS AS THE PASSENGER SIDE FLOOR GETS SO WET IF I DO NOT USE ANYTHING TO ABSORB THE WATER. THIS FIX WILL TAKE AT LEAST 5 DAYS TO BE REPAIR AND WILL COST ME OVER $2000 TO HAVE IT REPAIR, WHEN THIS IS AN ISSUED CAUSE FOR THE BAD RUBBER QUALITY THAT HONDA USED. *TR
PASSENGER AND BACK LEFT PASSENGER WINDOWS EITHER CAME OFF TRACK OR TRACK BECAME "GUMMED UP". BOTH ISSUED OCCURRED WHILE IN MOTION AND WITHIN A FEW MONTHS OF EACH OTHER. WINDOW MADE THIS GRINDING NOISE WHEN LOWERING AND WOULD NOT GO BACK UP. NO INCIDENT WAS REPORTED OTHER THEN TAKING THE CAR TO THE HONDA DEALERSHIP TO GET AN ESTIMATE. THE GRINDING NOISE SOUNDS LIKE GLASS ON METAL WHEN WINDOW IS RAISED OR LOWERED. REQUIRED FIX FROM DEALERSHIP WAS A NEW TRACK INSTALLED AND WINDOW REGULATOR REPLACEMENT. REPAIRS WERE QUOTED AT $750 PER WINDOW. ONE WINDOW GOES BAD AND CHALK IT UP AS A FLUKE. SAME ISSUE ON BOTH WINDOWS...MANUFACTURER DEFECT!

ALSO, MY BACKUP CAMERA WILL HAVE A BLACK SCREEN AND THEN MY MAPS WILL BE GRAY WITH NO INFORMATION. MY CAR WILL SUDDENLY BRAKE WHEN THERE IS NO ONE IN FRONT OF ME AND SURGE FORWARD AS I'M TO COMING TO A STOP AND THE RPM'S WILL RAISE, IT'S LIKE I'M SLIDING OVER ICE FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. I ALSO CAN'T MAKE PHONE CALLS USING THE SYSTEM, AS IT WON'T RECOGNIZE ANY OF MY VOICE TAGS. AND INSTEAD WILL GIVE ME EVERY CONTACT IN MY PHONE BOOK WITH A HOME NUMBER WHEN I ASK FOR IT TO CALL HOME. RECENTLY THE ABS IS ACTIVATING AS I TURN MY WHEELS TO THE RIGHT WHILE BACKING OUR OF PARKING SPACES, EITHER ON A DRIVEWAY OR FLAT SURFACE. THESE MAY HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING OR STATIONARY AND JUST TURNING THE CAR ON. IT JUST ISN'T SAFE. I'VE HAD PEOPLE SLAM ON THEIR BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING ME AS MY CAR DECIDES TO SUDDENLY STOP FOR NO REASON AND HAVE FEAR THAT I MAY REAR END SOMEONE DUE TO IT LURCHING FORWARD WHILE STOPPING, SO NOW I STOP EVEN FURTHER AWAY FROM VEHICLES AND OBJECTS - JUST IN CASE. I'M ALSO EXPERIENCING A POPPING NOISE COMING FROM MY SPEAKER SYSTEM THAT SEEMS TO OCCUR WHENEVER MY AC COMPRESSOR SWITCHES ON OR OFF OR IF I'M USING MY DOOR LOCKS, LEADING ME TO WONDER IF I'M ACTUALLY HAVING ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM COMES ON AND ISSUES A WARNING THAT IT NO LONGER OPERATES AFTER DRIVING ALONG A ROAD WHERE THERE ARE NUMEROUS ORANGE CONES ALONG THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE SYSTEMS STATES IT IS OVERLOADED AND STOPS FUNCTIONING. SYSTEM MUST BE RE-CODED BY DEALER IN ORDER FOR SYSTEM TO WORK AGAIN. DEALER SAYS THERE IS NO FIX. RECOMMENDATION IS TO TURN OFF THE SYSTEM WHENEVER ENCOUNTERING THIS SITUATION. THIS ESSENTIALLY MAKES DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF THE SYSTEM.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT COULD BUY A HONDA SEAT BELT EXTENDER TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AT 800-999-1009 AND STATED THAT THE HONDA WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE. A CASE NUMBER WAS NOT PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM FAILURE INDICATOR ON DASH AS CAR MOVES PAST MULTIPLE HIGHWAY SAFETY CONES. SYSTEM APPEARS TO BE OVERLOADED AS IT DETECTS CONES ON SIDE OF ROAD. CODES MUST BE RESET IN ORDER FOR SYSTEM TO WORK AGAIN. HONDA CANNOT FIX THIS AT THIS POINT. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH THE CAR.
TWO DIFFERENT TIMES MY CAR HAS SPUTTERED WHILE DRIVING ALSO WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. ONE TIME HAPPEN TWICE 2 WEEKS AGO. YESTERDAY HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND TRANSMISSION SYSTEM PROBLEM LIGHT CAME ON AND EMISSIONS SYSTEM LIGHT. CAR JERKED AND SPUTTERED VERY SCARY WHILE I HAD MY CHILD IN THE CAR WITH ME.. HONDA CURRENTLY REVIEWING PROBLEM.
AFTER LOCKING THE CAR IN A PARKING LOT WITH WINDOWS UP, I RETURNED TO FIND ALL WINDOWS HALF DOWN AND SUN ROOF HALF OPEN. ANOTHER TIME AFTER LOCKING THE CAR I RETURNED TO FIND THE TAIL GATE OPEN.
