THERE ARE SEVERAL PROBLEMS. THE LOCK FUNCTION DOES NOT WORK WHEN YOU WALK AWAY FROM THE CAR. IT BEEPS ONCE, BUT DOES NOT LOCK. CONTINUE TO GET THE MESSAGE "KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM". THE SCREEN (FOR RADIO AND SUCH) GOES BLACK. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BOTH STATIONARY AND IN MOTION. I CAN OPEN MY CAR DOOR AND IT WILL SAY "KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM BEFORE I EVEN START THE CAR.
VEHICLE RANDOMLY DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY RESTART AFTER AUTO IDLE STOP ENGAGES WHEN IN STOP-GO TRAFFIC ON FREEWAY OR WHEN STOPPED AT INTERSECTION, RESULTING IN A STALLED VEHICLE IN THE MIDDLE OF FREEWAY OR INTERSECTION. ATTEMPTS TO MANUALLY RESTART THE VEHICLE GENERALLY SUCCESSFUL AFTER FRANTICALLY (OR SLOWLY!) PUSHING THE START-STOP BUTTON SEVERAL TIMES. DEALER HAS REPLACED BATTERY & ENGINE START-STOP BUTTON TO NO AVAIL.
POWER STEERING, EMISSIONS, TRAILER STABILITY, HILL ASSIST WARNING INDICATION DISPLAYED ON DASH. ALL OF THEM AT THE SAME TIME ONE RIGHT AFTER THE OTHER. I COULDN'T DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE OF ALL OF THESE WARNINGS.
AUTO STOP MALFUNCTION FIRST YEAR OF OWNING THE PILOT ELITE, THE AUTO STOP FUNCTION WORKED AND WOULD RESTART AFTER COMING TO A STOP. BY THE SECOND YEAR, AFTER COMING TO A STOP IN CITY TRAFFIC AND ENGINE IS SUPPOSED TO COME BACK ON, IT STALLS AND SHUTS OFF AND NEEDS TO BE SHIFTED TO NEUTRAL AND THEN RESTART ENGINE. HAVE TAKEN THE CAR FOR SERVICES SINCE HAVING THIS ISSUE AND REPORTING THE ISSUE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ARE UNABLE TO FIX THE ISSUE OR REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. NOW INTO YEAR 3 OF OWNERSHIP THE AUTO STOP FUNCTION HAS GOTTEN WORSE BECAUSE NOW WHEN IT SHUTS OFF AFTER AUTO STOPPING, IT TAKES A COUPLE OF MINUTES BEFORE YOU ARE ABLE TO RESTART THE CAR. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AT AN INTERSECTION WHEN THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN. ONLY WAY AROUND THIS ISSUE IS TO DISABLE THE AUTO STOP FUNCTION AT THE BEGINNING OF THE DRIVE WHICH DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF HAVING SUCH A FUNCTION AND WE AREN'T ABLE TO PERMANENTLY DISABLE THE FUNCTION. I HAVE REPORTED THIS PROBLEM EACH AND EVERY TIME I HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE AND THEY HAVE RUN DIAGNOSTICS AND SAID THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE.
For years, dating back to 2018, our 2016 Honda Pilot Elite auto on/off switch operations has been failing. Vehicle will not restart the engine after its engaged the auto start off. Engine and all components including electrical are off. Dashboard indications light up and essentially we are stalled, at risk of not being able to drive. It requires to place the car into park and restart the engine. This is serious safety issue that could result in being struct by another vehicle without being able to move. I have been taking the car to several authorized Honda service dealerships to address the issue. They have replaced multiple times the auto on/off switch, battery, adjusted values and updated software with no resolution. One dealership claimed to disable the auto on/off switch but this is NOT feasible. With the latest inspection, another local Honda dealership contacted Honda Corp Tech Line for assistance. Once again they instructed the dealer to perform all the potential fixes above and to ignore a code P2638. After investigating this online, Honda and NHTSA have opened an investigation June 2022 on this issue after 220+ complaints. There is no known fix, yet Honda Corp Tech Line informed local dealer to conduct value adjustments yet again, at a labor cost to us.
***AUTO IDLE STOP MALFUNCTION** WHILE IN MOVING TRAFFIC ON A HIGHWAY IN NORTHERN VIRGINIA, THE PILOT HAS STALLED AND EVEN POWERED OFF WHILE THE AUTO IDLE STOP FUNCTION WAS ENGAGED. THE CAR POWERED DOWN AND REQUIRED A RE-START WHICH NEEDED MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS TO ACTUALLY TAKE EFFECT (UP TO 20 SECONDS-MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS). THE DEALERSHIP HAS NO SOLUTION TO OFFER AND HONDA HAS NO RECALL AVAILABLE TO COVER THE ISSUE. THIS HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS WHEN THE AUTO IDLE FEATURE HAS BEEN TURNED OFF. THE DEALERSHIP COULDN'T "REPRODUCE" THE ISSUE WHILE IN THEIR POSSESSION SO ONLY OFFERED TO KEEP IT LONGER (TO DRIVE IT IN REAL WORLD SCENARIOS) AND ATTEMPT TO REPRODUCE THE MALFUNCTION.
MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET WHEN SEVERAL ALERTS WENT OFF ON MY DASHBOARD: ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM, TRAILER STABILITY ASSIST PROBLEM, HILL START ASSIST PROBLEM, VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST PROBLEM, EMISSIONS SYSTEM PROBLEM, POWER STEERING SYSTEM PROBLEM. I COULD FIND NO REASON FOR THESE ALERTS. I TOOK MY CAR INTO A DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO ISSUE AND THE LIGHTS WERE TURNED OFF. 10 DAYS LATER THEY ALL CAME ON AGAIN AS I WAS DRIVING ON A LOCAL STREET. THE NEXT DAY WHEN I WENT TO TAKE MY CAR TO THE DEALER, THE LIGHTS HAD TURNED OFF. I TOOK IT IN ANYWAY, AND THEY AGAIN SAID THERE WAS NO ISSUE. I REPORTED THE ISSUE TO HONDA CORPORATION AND WAS TOLD BY ONE AGENT THAT THIS WASN'T THE FIRST TIME THE ISSUE HAD COME UP IN A NEWER MODEL PILOT. AGAIN 2 DAYS AGO, ALL THE LIGHTS CAME ON AND NOW ALSO THE BRAKE ASSIST ALERT IS ALSO ON. I WILL TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN. I AM CONCERNED ALL THE FALSE ALARMS MAY BE HIDING AN UNDERLYING ISSUE THAT COULD RESULT IN A DANGEROUS ACCIDENT. I ALSO FEEL THAT HONDA GLOBAL IS NOT TAKING ME SERIOUSLY AS I AM ACTIVE DUTY STATIONED OVERSEAS AND HAVE TO RELY ON LOCAL HONDA DEALERSHIPS THAT DO NOT HAVE MUCH EXPERIENCE WITH THE HONDA PILOT. THE DATES OF THE LIGHTS WERE 17 SEPT, 27 SEPT, AND 6 OCT 2018.
WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, I SLOWED TO MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURNING MERGE ONTO ANOTHER HIGHWAY. AS I WAS SLOWING, I GOT A TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WARNING IN THE DASH. WHEN I HIT THE ACCELERATOR TO MERGE SAFELY,THE CAR ABRUPTLY BEGAN TO LOSE SPEED AND MY INPUT TO THE GAS PEDAL HAD NO EFFECT. I WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND WHEN IT CAME TO A STOP, I HEARD A LOUD GRINDING SOUND. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND HAD IT TOWED TO GARY SMITH HONDA. GARY SMITH FOUND AN ISSUE WITH AN OIL PRESSURE SWITCH BUT THE SERVICE TECH CLAIMS THERE IS NO PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION.

ALSO, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED SARASOTA HONDA AT 941-923-3413 (LOCATED AT 7333 S TAMIAMI TRL, SARASOTA, FL 34231) AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000.
COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM (CMBS) COMPUTER OVERLOAD IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE WITH VEHICLE IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY. CMBS COMPUTER SHUT DOWN AND WOULD NOT RESET WITHOUT TAKING VEHICLE TO DEALER. DEALER REBOOTED COMPUTER FOR $62 AND ADVISED TURNING OFF CMBS BEFORE ENTERING CONSTRUCTION ZONES TO AVOID A REPEAT. TURNING OFF A SAFETY FEATURE WITH A DIFFICULT-TO-FIND SWITCH WHILE DRIVING IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE WOULD BE UNSAFE. DRIVING WITHOUT A SAFETY FEATURE WOULD BE IRRESPONSIBLE AND POTENTIALLY UNSAFE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND YET HONDA DOES NOT WARN OWNERS ABOUT IT BUT INSTEAD MAKES MONEY FROM IT.
AUTO START-STOP FAILS TO RE-START ENGINE AFTER SHUTTING OFF AT A STOP/STATIONARY. FIX HAS BEEN HAVING TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN PARK, SHUT OFF ENGINE & RESTART ENGINE. MULTIPLE DASH MALFUNCTION LIGHTS ALSO ILLUMINATE.
MY VEHICLE IS DISPLAYING THE KEYLESS IGNITION ERROR AND IT JUST SO HAPPENS THAT ITS A KNOWN ISSUE AMONG MANY MANY OTHER 2016 HONDA PILOT OWNERS. I FEEL THIS IS A SCAM TO GET US TO DROP MONEY AT THE DEALERSHIP. MY CAR WAS RUNNING, OPENING UP FINE UNTIL ALL OF A SUDDEN THAT MESSAGE POPPED UP. WHAT A COINCIDENCE THIS IS HAPPENING AT TTHE SAME TIME AS EVERYONE ELSE.
2016 PILOT INTERMITTENTLY SHOWS ERROR MESSAGE 'KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM'. THERE ISN'T A PATTERN WHEN ERROR MESSAGE OCCURS OR WHY IT SUDDENLY STOPS APPEARING. APPEARS IF I START WHILE IN THE CAR OR REMOTE STARTING WITH EITHER KEY FAB. ACCORDING TO DEALERSHIP, THEY AREN'T SURE WHAT'S CAUSING THE ISSUE.
1. KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM ERROR WARNING 2. TRANSMISSION OR THROTTLE ISSUE: JERKY OR CHOPPY ACCELERATION WHEN AT LOW OR MODERATE ACCELERATION BETWEEN SPEEDS OF 20 TO 50 MPH OR DURING CRUISING AT SPEEDS OF 20 TO 50 MPH. BROUGHT IT TO DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES FOR ISSUE, FIRST TWO TIMES UNDER WARRANTY, AT WHAT TIME THE SOFTWARE FOR THE TRANSMISSION WAS UPDATED WHICH RECTIFIED ISSUE FOR 3 MONTHS. THE THIRD TIME, SOFTWARE WAS AGAIN UPDATED BUT WITHOUT IMPROVEMENT OF THE ISSUE. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE WARRANTY ON POWERTRAIN LAPSED BETWEEN SECOND AND THIRD REQUEST FOR REPAIR AND ISSUE IS NOT BEING TREATED AS A CONTINUATION OF A KNOWN PROBLEM.
KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM ERROR COMES ON AND OFF SINCE ABOUT 50,000 MILES. I OFTEN HAVE TO TRY SEVERAL TIMES TO START THE VEHICLE EVEN WITH A NEW BATTERY. TRANSMISSION ISSUES OFTEN AS WE ARE DRIVING ALONG THERE IS A BUMPINESS WHETHER ACCELERATING OR JUST DRIVING ALONG. THIS STARTED AT ABOUT 30,000 MILES
[2016 HONDA PILOT EXL AWD WITH SENSING, 28 K MILES AND 2.4 YEARS SINCE PURCHASE] ON FRIDAY AUG/24/2018 WHILE DRIVING HOME (AROUND 40MPH) THE VSA LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON FOR BARELY 4-5 SECONDS AND THEN TURNED OFF. DID NOT NOTICE ANY MAJOR ISSUES THEN. ON SUNDAY 26/AUG/2018 WHILE DRIVING AT AROUND 30-35 MPH, THE CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP ALMOST LIKE THE BRAKES HAD BEEN APPLIED (DID NOT NOTICE THE ORANGE BRAKE SIGN OR THE COLLISION WARNING BEEP SOUND). I WAS ON THE RIGHT LANE WITH NO ONE BEHIND OR AHEAD OF ME AND NO OBSTACLES IN FRONT. TURNED ON THE HAZARD LIGHT AND THEN NOTICED THAT THE VSA LIGHT WAS ON. CAR WOULD NOT MOVE AND JUST KEPT REVVING WHEN I TRIED TO ACCELERATE. PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THEN IN DRIVE, NO CHANGE. PUSHED THE VSA BUTTON TO TURN OFF VSA AND BOTH THE VSA LIGHT AND THE VSA OFF LIGHT STAYED ON BUT THE CAR WOULD STILL NOT MOVE. SHUT DOWN THE CAR AND RESTARTED IT AFTER WHICH THE LIGHTS WENT OFF, AND THE CAR STARTED MOVING (ALTHOUGH SLOWLY). DROVE HOME WITH VSA TURNED OFF AND AT A SPEED OF AROUND 20-30 MPH. THE ABRUPT BRAKING/STOPPING WAS PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS AND WOULD HAVE CAUSED A COLLISION EVEN IN REGULAR TRAFFIC ON ANY OTHER DAY. NOTE: THE KEY FOB WAS LOW ON BATTERY AND THE ONLY OTHER WARNING I HAD ON THE CONSOLE WAS ONE INFORMING ABOUT THE KEY FOB BATTERY BEING LOW.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HONDA CARS OF KATY (21001 KATY FWY, KATY, TX 77450) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND OPENED CASE NUMBER: 08934725. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
THIS VEHICLE STALLS WHEN THE BRAKE IS DEPRESSED. THE ENGINE SHOULD RESTART WHEN YOUR FOOT COMES OFF THE BRAKE. IT DOES NOT RESTART. IN ORDER TO RESTART THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE HAS TO BE PUT IN PARK POSITION, PUT FOOT BACK ON BRAKE, & HOLD THE START BUTTON UNTIL THE VEHICLE RESTARTS. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IN TRAFFIC.
THE CAR CONTINUALLY STALLS AT RED LIGHTS AND OTHER FULL STOPS AFTER THE "AUTO-SHUTOFF" ENGAGES. THE CAR FAILS TO RESTART AND RESULTS IN DANGEROUS SITUATIONS IN HIGH TRAFFIC AREAS IN THE CITY. THE CAR CAN NOT BE MOVED EASILY BECAUSE IT BECOMES COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE, EVEN DISABLING THE FLASHERS. IT HAS HAPPENED REPEATEDLY.
AROUND 38,000 MILES ON THE 2016 HONDA PILOT, IT STARTED TO SHOW AN ERROR ON THE SCREEN IN THE DASH SAYING "KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM" THAT CAUSE THE CAR NOT TO WORK ON THE AUTOLOCK FEATURE WHEN YOU WALK AWAY OR THE AUTOMATIC TIMER LOCK WHICH IS SET AT 30 SECONDS. AFTER 30 SECONDS, THE CAR DOESN'T LOCK AT ALL. LEAVING THE VEHICLE BEING UNLOCKED AND POSSIBLY BEING STOLEN. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THE DEALER IS ASKING $307 DOLLARS TO REPLACE THE START BUTTON. THIS SHOULD BE COVERED BY HONDA SINCE IT IS AN ELECTRICAL SYSTEM PROBLEM THAT WAS NOT CAUSED BY THE OWNER. MANY OTHER PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE ON FORUMS.

THE RPMS DROPPED TO 35 MPH AND THE ENGINE REVVED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS RELEASED, THE VEHICLE WOULD SIGNIFICANTLY DROP IN SPEED. NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND IT RESUMED TO NORMAL. THE CONTACT MENTIONED WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED THE FIRST TIME, ALL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HONDA OF SUPERSTITION SPRINGS, 6229 E AUTO PARK DR, MESA, AZ 85206, AND WAS DIAGNOSED BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 40,000.
WHEN DRIVING, THE VEHICLE JERKS FORWARD WHEN IT CHANGES SPEED OR GEAR.
KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM ERROR MESSAGE. SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL NOT START UNTIL I HAVE TRIED MULTIPLE TIMES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA PILOT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 20 TO 30 MPH, THE ENGINE REVVED UP AND THE VEHICLE STARTED JERKING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DROVE MUCH SMOOTHER ONCE THE SPEED EXCEEDED 40 MPH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT RESEARCH SHOWED THAT DUE TO A CODING ERROR, THE TRANSMISSION OVERHEATED AND CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID TO NOT PERFORM AS NEEDED IN REGULATING THE TRANSMISSION TEMPERATURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HUGHES HONDA (2260 MOODY RD, WARNER ROBINS, GA 31088, (478)449-3939) AND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID WAS CHANGED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 HONDA PILOT. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE "AUTO IDLE DISABLER" FEATURE ENGAGED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING AFTER THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AT A STOP LIGHT. THREE WEEKS LATER, WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH ON THE FREEWAY, THE "AUTO IDLE DISABLER" FEATURE ENGAGED AGAIN WHILE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT SHIFTED THE GEAR INTO PARK, DISABLED THE POWER, AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. IN ADDITION, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, ALL OF THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT GEARS PROPERLY AND THE RPMS RAPIDLY INCREASED TO 5,000. ALSO, THE REVERSE GEAR SHIFTER BECAME INOPERATIVE AND THE GEARS WOULD NOT SHIFT WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH. BIG STAR HONDA (11200 GULF FREEWAY, HOUSTON, TEXAS 77034) COULD NOT DIAGNOSE AND DUPLICATE THE FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 49,000. *DT *JS
9 SPEED TRANSMISSION GOES INTO NEUTRAL AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS 2X. ON BOTH OCCASIONS, HAD TO PULL OVER TO SHOULDER WITH NO POWER. VERY DANGEROUS. HONDA IS REPLACING TRANSMISSION WITH 48K MILES ON CAR. THEY ARE NOT EXTENDING THE WARRANTY ON A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS TRANSMISSION.
I WAS TRAVELING ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY AT A SPEED OF AROUND 75MPH. I NEEDED TO SLOW DOWN SO PULLED MY FOOT OFF ACCELERATOR AND SLOWED BY ABOUT 10MPH. WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE AGAIN I HAD NO POWER AND THE CAR BEGAN TO DECELERATE FOR THE NEXT 10-15 SECONDS. I HAD NO POWER AND HAD A CAR COMING IN CLOSE BEHIND ME AND A BIG RIG TO MY RIGHT. AFTER TAKING IT TO HONDA TO BE CHECKED THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT "DUPLICATE" THIS NOR FIND ANYTHING IN THE LOG BUT HONDA HAS PLACED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE TRANSMISSION. AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ISN'T GOING TO SAVE OUR LIVES IF THIS SITUATION OCCURS AGAIN. HONDA NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE.
THE CAR STALLS INTERMITTENTLY WHEN AUTO IDLE STOP IS ENGAGED AND CAR IS STATIONARY. INSTEAD OF THE ENGINE STARTING UP AGAIN AFTER TAKE FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND PRESS THE GAS PEDAL, THE CAR STALLS COMPLETELY AND HAVE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK, PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL AND PUSH THE START BUTTON TO GET IT ON AGAIN. SOMETIMES HAVE TO TRY SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE CAR RESTARTS. DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE TO FIND ANYTHING OR REPLICATE PROBLEM. FIRST REPORTED TO DEALER OCT. 2017, DID SOFTWARE UPDATE, BUT HAPPENED AGAIN JUNE AND JULY.
AS YOU ACCELERATE, THE CAR GOES IN AND OUT OF GETTING FUEL TO THE ENGINE. THE RPM’S DROP AND INCREASE AT LEAST 1,000 RPMS EACH SECOND. VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. HAPPENS BOTH ON CITY STREETS, BUT MORE SO ON THE OPEN HIGHWAY, ESPECIALLY IF SMALL TEXAS HILLS ARE INVOLVED. TOOK CAR TO HONDA DEALERSHIP. THEY CLEANED THE FUEL LINES, AND RESET THE COMPUTER. THIS HAS HELPED.

WHILE TRAVELING ON I-95 AT ABOUT 75 MPH, EVERY WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE CAR SLOWED DOWN AND CHANGED INTO NEUTRAL. WE WERE ABLE TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER BUT THE CAR IN PARK. WE DID NOT TURN THE CAR OFF BC WE WANTED A/C AS LONG AS POSSIBLE (OCCURRED ON JUNE IN GA, HOT). THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO GEAR SO WE HAD TO HAVE THE CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. THE FOLLOWING DAY AT THE DEALERSHIP, THEY WHERE ABLE TO GET AN ERROR CODE TO APPEAR. AFTER CONTACTING AMERICAN HONDA, THE TECHNICIAN WAS TOLD THAT HONDA IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE. HE WAS TOLD TO CLEAR THE CODE AND IF THE CODE REOCCURRED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION BUT IF NOT, THEY WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING. WELL, THE CODE WOULD NOT DUPLICATE EVEN AFTER THE DEALERSHIP TRIED FOR MULTIPLE DAYS. WE DROVE BACK TO GA FOR OUR 4 HOUR DRIVE HOME AND PRAYED IT WOULD MAKE IT BACK TO HOME. LUCKILY IT DID; HOWEVER, THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS IN LOW GEARS AND WE ARE JUST WAITING ON IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN. BY THE WAY THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. IT HAPPENED TWICE IN TOWN DURING THE MONTH OF MAY. THEY DID A SERVICE UPDATE AND REPLACED ALL OF THE FUEL INJECTORS (OUT OF POCKET AS IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY). IT IS REALLY TROUBLESOME THAT HONDA KNOWS ABOUT THE ISSUE AND I PERSONALLY HAD THIS HAPPENED THREE TIMES & HAVE A CAR WITH A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. THE LAST OCCURRENCE WAS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD AS WE HAD OUR FAMILY & DOG AND STUCK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR OVER 2 HOURS IN TRYING TO GET THE CAR TOWED. PLEASE AMERICAN HONDA FIX THIS ISSUE.

WHILE DRIVING ALL WARNING LIGHTS ACTIVATED CYCLING THROUGH EACH OF THEM. THE VEHICLE LOST ALMOST ALL POWER CAUSING A VERY UNSAFE AND POTENTIALLY FATAL CONDITION. SEVERAL TRANSMISSION AND OTHER CODES WERE NOTED FOLLOWING THE INCIDENT. SO MY WIFE PULLED OVER AND SAW THAT HER SUN ROOF HAD EXPLODED. SO I ASKED IF ANYTHING HIT THE SUNROOF AND SHE SAID NO. SO I LOOKED AT THE SUN ROOF WHEN SHE GOT HOME AND IT WAS SHATTERED FROM CORNER TO CORNER. NO WAY A ROCK OR FLYING DEBRIS COULD CAUSE THAT. LUCKILY THE SUNROOF COVER WAS CLOSED, SO SHE DID NOT GET HIT WITH SHARDS OF GLASS. I TOOK THE CAR INTO MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED. THEY AGREED THAT IT WOULD BE DIFFICULT TO CAUSE THAT KIND OF DAMAGE TO THE SUN ROOF WITH A ROCK. UNFORTUNATELY, IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE "WARRANTY" AND I HAD TO PAY FOR THE NEW WINDOW WHICH WAS CLOSE TO $700.

DURING IDLE (SUCH AS AT A RED LIGHT), THE AUTO ENGINE IDLE STOP FUNCTION CAUSES THE ENGINE TO CUT OUT (THIS IS NORMAL) AND THE ENGINE IS SUPPOSED TO COME BACK TO LIFE WHEN THE BRAKE IS RELEASED. HOWEVER, SOMETIMES THE ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CUT OUT COMPLETELY (MOST EASILY IDENTIFIED BY THE RADIO CUTTING OUT) AND THE ENGINE DOES NOT COME BACK ON WHEN THE BRAKE IS RELEASED AND THE CAR MUST BE PUT INTO PARK AND RESTARTED, WHICH CAN TAKE QUITE A BIT OF TIME - IT OFTEN HAS TROUBLE RESTARTING WHEN THIS OCCURS. THERE IS USUALLY SOME KIND OF ERROR CODE WHEN THIS OCCURS; THE CODE VARIES BUT IS MOST OFTEN "COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM'. THIS CONDITION CAN BE QUITE HAZARDOUS, ESPECIALLY WHEN IN AN INTERSECTION. THERE IS AN OVERRIDE OF THE ENGINE IDLE STOP, BUT IT MUST BE ACTIVATED EACH TIME THE CAR IS RESTARTED, WHICH IS EASILY FORGOTTEN. THIS PROBLEM WAS OCCURRING SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK UNTIL I STARTED USING THE OVERRIDE.
The engine in my vehicle fails to restart after coming to a complete stop. My car stalls out and can take several attempts to try to restart the car. This has been very dangerous. It can occur whether I'm stuck in traffic on a major highways or even just at a stop sign. It always occurs when the start/stop function is engaged. I have taken the car to the dealer multiple times to deal with this issue and even tried to get the start stop function removed. Unfortunately, they have never been able to fix the problem.

I WAS DRIVING AT 75MPH ON A HEAVILY CONGESTED AREA OF THE INTERSTATE. VEHICLE WAS RUNNING NORMAL, THEN THE EMISSIONS LIGHT CAME ON FOLLOWED BY 'TRANSMISSION SYSTEM PROBLEM' AND I LOST ALL ABILITY TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE, DESPITE PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT UP OR DOWN AND I NARROWLY MISSED BEING IN A HORRIBLE ACCIDENT AS I FOUGHT TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. ONCE IN PARK, THE VEHICLE SPUTTERED AND THEN REVVED AT A RAPID RATE. I WAS AFRAID IT WOULD DAMAGE THE MOTOR SO I SHUT IT OFF. AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET, APPARENTLY THERE IS A WELL KNOWN TRANSMISSION ISSUE THAT HONDA REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE.
Rattling Noise in Engine after I stepped on the gas pedal at a light. Honda said the Engine needs to be replaced. 80,000 Miles never missed an oil change. Prior to the engine issue the pilot would stall at stop lights due to the auto shutoff feature. Honda attempted to replace the stop/start button, it did not fix the problem. When I brought it the 2nd time they said my battery was likely causing the issue and it needed to be replaced. I informed them I purchased a new battery two months prior. The issue was so bad that we had shut off the feature everytime we started the car.
THE MESSAGE "KEYLESS START SYSTEM PROBLEM" SHOWED UP IN THE INFORMATION SCREEN ABOUT A FEW WEEKS AGO, IT WOULD COME UP INTERMITTENTLY, WHENEVER I START THE ENGINE, AND THE MESSAGE STAYS ON THE ENTIRE TIME THE ENGINE IS RUNNNING. WHEN THE ENGINE IS SHUT OFF, THERE WILL BE A DING, AND THE MESSAGE WILL STAY ON FOR A FEW MINUTES BEFORE GOING AWAY. I TOOK IT TO THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP, THEY HAD NOT ENCOUNTERED A MESSAGE LIKE THAT BEFORE, AND COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG. I ALREADY HAVE OVER 42,000 MILES ON MY VEHICLE, SO THE FACTORY WARRANTY HAS RUN OUT. TODAY I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP, SINCE THAT MESSAGE IS STILL SHOWING UP, AND I FINALLY HAVE THE TIME TO LEAVE IT FOR A FEW HOURS. THE SERVICE ADVISOR SAID NOW THERE IS A CODE FOR THAT ISSUE, BUT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR WHATEVER REPAIRS NEEDED TO FIX THE ISSUE. I FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD BE A MANUFACTURING RECALL ISSUE, PERHAPS WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, OR WITH THE KEYLESS START SYSTEM, AND THAT I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR. I'M AFRAID OF WHAT WOULD HAPPEN WHEN THE ISSUE GETS WORSE, ESPECIALLY WHEN I GO ON VACATION, AND THE ENGINE WILL NOT START BECAUSE OF AN ERROR WITH THE KEYLESS START SYSTEM AFFECTING THE PUSH BUTTON START. AGAIN, THE MESSAGE DOES NOT COME UP EVERYTIME I DRIVE. BUT TODAY, ON 6/28/2018, I HAVE STARTED THE ENGINE A TOTAL OF 3 TIMES WHILE RUNNING ERRANDS AROUND TOWN, WITHIN 90 MINUTES, AND THIS MESSAGE HAS SHOWN UP EVERY TIME I STARTED THE ENGINE.

IT DOES HAVE AN OVERRIDE TO THIS 'AUTO IDLE STOP' SYSTEM, BUT YOU HAVE TO ALWAYS REMEMBER TO PUSH THE BUTTON AND IF I FORGOT AND THE CAR WAS IN 'AUTO IDLE STOP' MODE AND I PUSHED THE BUTTON, MANY TIMES THE CAR WOULD STALL. I NOW ALSO HAVE A PROBLEM STARTING THE CAR. WHEN I PUSH THE START BUTTON, MANY TIMES THE ENGINE WON'T START. I HAVE TO PUSH IT 3-4 TIMES TO GET IT TO START. THIS MAKES MY STALLING EVEN MORE DANGEROUS, AS IF IT WAS NOT DANGEROUS ENOUGH, BECAUSE IT WILL TAKE ME MUCH LONGER TO START THE CAR FROM A STALL. I CAN IMAGINE BEING IN SITUATIONS WHERE I WOULD HAVE TO BE ABLE TO GET OUT A SITUATION QUICKLY AND IF I STALL I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO. IF I AM ON A FREEWAY AND STALL IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, OR STALLING ON TRAIN TRACKS IF I AM IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AND I HAPPEN TO BE THE CAR LEFT ON THE TRACKS AND CAN'T START. OR IF A CAR OR OBJECT IS HEADING TOWARDS ME AND WILL CRASH INTO ME AND I CAN AVOID IT BE SPEEDING AWAY. IF I STALL I CAN'T.
