IT WAS NOT CAUGHT ON THE RUG AND WHEN I TRIED LIFTING WITH MY FOOT IT WAS NOT STUCK DOWN. THE SECOND TIME, THE ACCELERATOR WAS PUSHED DOWN, AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SPEED UP AND RACE. I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL BUT THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO RACE. I HAD TO KEEP MY FOOD ON THE BRAKE BUT THE CAR AS BEFORE CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE.. I HAD THE DEALER IN RENTON LOOK AT IT BUT THEY SEEM NOT TO BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE PROBLEM. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HYUNDAI AZERA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A SUDDEN INCREASE IN ENGINE RPMS AND LUNGED FORWARD ABNORMALLY, ALTHOUGH THE BRAKES WERE ENGAGED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE ONLY WAY HE COULD STOP THE VEHICLE WAS BY SHIFTING TO PARK AND TURNING THE IGNITION OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,900 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 14,985.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE BY ABRUPTLY APPLYING THE BRAKES. THE DEALER DIAGNOSE WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,050 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 46,085.

IS THIS A COMMON PROBLEM AND WHAT CAN BE DONE THAT IT DOES NOT OCCUR AGAIN? THE DEALER STATED THAT THE THROTTLE SENSOR FAILED AND SHUTDOWN THE SYSTEM.
