There are 26 owner-reported electrical system complaints for the 2023 Hyundai Palisadein NHTSA's database. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
Along with the two recalls of which I have not been contacted by Hyundai or provided any form of remedy, this is highly concerning and makes me feel extremely unsafe driving my vehicle, especially with the fact that I have small children and teenagers. My car had an issue from inception that I’ve let the dealer know about that. They still have not fixed including the fact that well I’ll be driving on certain roads are on the highway. It’ll come up with a warning telling me that I’m going the wrong way and try to engage the automatic breaking system. In addition, the second row seatbelt has been stuck and it won’t go back in. The third row seats often times try to disengage and come down. Anytime I hit a small bump or go over a speed bump even very slow. My Bluetooth goes off-line as well as the Navigation and then it comes back online within 3 to 5 minutes. Carr seems to have had a number of odd issues, including the way the engine has sounded as well as the electrical system is not engaging properly. I feel highly unsafe continuing to drive this vehicle and until all recalls and full proper analysis is conducted to remedy these issues I would want Either a full refund of the cash value that I purchased my vehicle for, a brand new vehicle at no additional charge, or a loaner vehicle until all of these issues are remedied, and then a full analysis to ensure that it meets the standards. My preference would be to get a full refund of the cash value in which I purchased my vehicle for so I can get something else that is more safe for my family.
Safety recalls and I don’t feel safe with my children in car
On September 11, 2025, Hyundai of New Port Richey (Lithia Motors) executed a Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) contract and delivered a 2023 Hyundai Palisade (VIN: [XXX] act day the manufacturer issued a federal Stop-Sale for Recall #283 (Seatbelt Latch Failure). Internal documents show the CPO sale relied on mechanical inspection data from 34 days prior (August 8, 2025). There is no documentation of a point-of-sale safety check performed on September 11, resulting in the vehicle being sold despite the active Stop-Sale order. Presumably, because the sale occurred on the exact date Recall #283 was issued, we were excluded from the manufacturer's October safety mailing. We unknowingly operated the vehicle for seven months without knowledge of the seatbelt defect, though we did receive subsequent notices for campaigns 9C9, 9C8, and Recall #292 (Ejection Mitigation). Combined, the active status of Recall #283 and Recall #292 leaves the vehicle with zero safe seating positions. Furthermore, internal records show the vehicle failed a computer diagnostic test ('NG' code) with a severely depleted 11.90V battery prior to purchase. The CPO sale was executed without resolving this documented fault. This correlates to a severe electrical issue where the parked vehicle spontaneously unlocks. Attached documents: "Palisade Sales Paperwork" - Documents the 9/11/25 purchase date. "Palisade Repair Order" - Documents the electrical/battery failure. (I also possess a video from the Hyundai technician confirming the battery issue). "Final Evidentiary Summary" - Chronological timeline of the transaction. "Palisade Inspection Form" - August 8, 2025, internal document recording the battery failure and outdated recall checks. This was not provided to us with the 9/11/25 purchase paperwork, and the customer signature is left blank. While sitting at a stop sign, I attempted to place my vehicle in Park. I opened the driver’s side door, but the car had not actually shifted into Park. None of the vehicle’s safety systems engaged when the door was opened. The car rolled forward with me partially outside the vehicle, dragging me until it struck a tree. This incident reflects a critical failure in the vehicle’s electrical/safety systems: •The transmission did not engage Park when selected. •The door-open rollaway prevention system did not activate. •The automatic front collision system failed to stop the vehicle. Because multiple electronic safeguards failed at the same time, this appears to be an electrical or computer system malfunction rather than driver error.
My vehicle has an issue with the anti lock braking system on uneven surfaces. On several occasions since buying the vehicle earlier this year, I've observed the issue of chattering or severe on-off reaction of the ABS to gradual braking onnuneven surfaces. I have not had the issue verified by a dealer yet, but plan to soon. The malfunction has extended stopping distances significantly. I have not noticed warning lights during or after the malfunction, likely because I'm focused on safely bringing the vehicle to a stop during the malfunction. My vehicle can be made available for inspection.
I recently purchased a Hyundai vehicle and discovered that the previous owner still has full access to the vehicle’s Bluelink system. This includes remote start/stop, vehicle tracking, horn/lights, and other controls. Despite contacting Hyundai support and proving ownership, they still have not revoked or disabled this access. I am unable to override or reset the system myself. This poses a serious safety concern, because an unauthorized individual can: •Remotely disable the vehicle while in motion or parked, •Track my exact real-time location, or •Manipulate vehicle functions without my knowledge or consent. This is not a one-off issue. Hyundai has no effective system in place to guarantee owner control or revoke prior access, which leaves other buyers vulnerable too. This constitutes a design flaw in connected vehicle control systems, not just an isolated customer service problem.
Was driving vehicle felt a shutter and instrumentation led panel shut off. Radio still works as well as engine
Driving with adaptive cruise control engaged in 45mph zone. Without intervention the cruise setting jumped to 90mph. I was able to press the pause bar to cancel it. Next I was able to re engage cruise normally without a repeat issue. There's been no outside inspection, or assessment. So far it's happened only once. The runaway speed was controllable. We're driving with extra care.
Was driving on the freeway today when I heard a crazy exploding sound. I thought it was a gunshot. Then I heard stuff falling off the roof of my car. Apparently my sunroof spontaneously exploded which was Terrifying!!!
My 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy which I bought in July 2023 failed to start in May 2024 inside my house garage. It had an error message of "Check ESC" where ESC stands for electronic stability control. After trying a couple of more times to start it, it completely died. Had it tow to the dealer and after a few days in the dealer, they told me it was a dead battery. The car went from no warnings at all to completely being dead inside my garage. No explanation of why the battery did not warn of any issues or why a "check ESC" warning code was displayed instead of displaying a "low battery" code. A search in the internet shows an unbelievable amount of accounts of these Hyundai Palisades suddenly causing the car to die and an "check ESC" code showing immediately after the car dies down. There has to be issues with these cars bacause this issue seems to be happening very often.
I bought a 2023 hyundai palisade calligraphy and I found out the seat controls do not work and the air condition doesn’t work but they were fixed but the most important thing is the BLUE LINK BUTTON WHERE THE REAR VIEW MIRROR IS inside the car that I need in case of an emergency doesn’t work at all and doesn’t connect to hyundai blue link . I called hyundai manufacturer and I called hyundai blue link several times and their stupid engineers couldn’t fix the problem and I went to the dealership and their service dept and they couldn’t fix the issue . This is a brand new car that the blue link inside it doesn’t work at all and I paid for 3 years service .i push the blue link butto then it connects then it ends with no ring tone and no one on the other side . It keeps disconnecting and fails to connect me to blue link . This is a major defect in the hyundai palisade calligraphy and needs to be addressed seriously and professionally by hyundai and get it fixed immediately. I am attaching photos and videos and on my car screen it shown that blue link ended on 12/31/2023 but that is wrong because I have blue link until 1/26/2026 three more years but my car screen has it as expired on 12/31/2023 and that is wrong
I have bought this 2023 hyundai palisade and the blue link button and the SOS EMERGENCY BUTTO do not work at all and I cannot get connected with the SOS emergency services in case of a crash or a medical emergency and that is a huge safety issue . I contacted hyundai blue link and hyundai customer service and it’s been 45 days with NO resolution yet and they don know how to fix this issue and cannot fix this issue . I want hyundai to open a recall on the blue link button and the sos button to fix it and repair this defect . Also I am enrolled in blue link till 1/26/2026 but t shows on the screen in my car that the blue link has expired on 12/31/2023 and that is wrong
On three separate occasions while driving the car has shut off while driving. The car and dashboard completely shut off, as well as the radio. This is while driving! The car was in drive and then just shut off with no warning or indication. I've taken the car to be seen by a Hyundai Mechanic and the car had a starter replacement. Yet, the issue has continued. This has put my safety and the safety of others at risk as the car cuts off mid-traffic. I am no longer able to brake or accelerate. The check-ESC message comes up when attempting to restart, but there is no warning or indication that comes on before the vehicle completely shuts down. I feel extremely unsafe. The dealership says it is hard to see codes because this happens mid-drive. Multiple Hyundai Owners, specifically 2023 Palisade Model owners have posted and reported this issue to corporate.
cant get a serviced till 2024 so i guess ill burn and die
Passenger door showing it is open at all times, makes an alert noise while driving. Also can not lock doors because of issue. Can not lock door even when parked and vehicle is off. Brand new car with 1600 miles. And I get door open alerts after I turn the car off
I have lost all confidence in this vehicle and my family, and I are scared to drive in (especially my 5 year old daughter). The mechanical failures that were experienced during these events were intense and life risking. During the first incident the vehicle brakes engaged while driving and caused the vehicle to stall in the middle of an intersection while turning left to enter highway, numerous vehicles were traveling in opposite direction and could have resulted in head on collision. No systems worked during this event, neither the horn nor the headlights worked to signal other vehicles of problem. Had to slam on the gas, which led to violent vehicle take off, that jolted my daughter around in her car seat and narrowly avoided collision with other vehicles. That was on [XXX], and similar events happened on [XXX] and [XXX]. Video and pictures of event were taken as they occurred on [XXX] event. Claim (Case#: XXX) was opened with Hyundai Consumer Affairs on [XXX]. All videos and pictures were shared on multiple occasions with Hyundai Team. Hyundai refused to repurchase the vehicle under Lemon Law provisions and cited that the issue didn’t start until the [XXX] event, which exceeds the 12-month statute. However, the issues started in Aug of 2023 and the dealer service records clearly document this. Hyundai insists that since they could not replicate the issue it didn’t start until Feb 1, when they were able to replicate. I don’t agree with this view and should not be penalized because of Hyundai’s technical limitations. Furthermore, they were perfectly fine with using my family as Guinee Pigs as they instructed me to continue driving the car and bring it when it happened again. Completely dismissing the gravity and potential consequences of the events, as described above, that took place on [XXX]. This vehicle has proven to have major malfunctions and should be removed from circulation immediately. Hyundai claims the issues have INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Car only has 1400 miles on it and is brand new. The engine for the car wont start when utilizing the push button within the car or app. The engine will only start by using the key fob. Initially we thought it was the battery, but after being able to turn the car on from the key fob, it was confirmed it was not the battery. Additionally, the car will randomly shut off when it is on. You can be driving the car and it will just shut off. The dealer service group upon initial drop off said they had never seen this before, but then they said it might relate to the push button and push transmission gears on the car, as they had seen this before on some of the newer hyundai models, just never the Palisade. They made it sound like the technology that is behind the push transmission and push button start is the same, and that is where the problem lies.
I purchased my Hyndai Palisade on 06/14/2023 from Temecula Hyundai. We had the car for a week and then the car sat for three days. I went to get in it and found the battery was completely drained. Jump started the car and drove for two days. Going to leave my house and the battery was again drained. Took the car to the dealership and they said I had a bad battery. They replaced it. Took the car home. The following week we had the same issue, drained battery. Took the car back to the dealership. They had the car for two weeks and said a junction box was bad and causing a parasitic drain. They replaced the junction box and we got the car back. Drove the car for a week and went to Laughlin. The car was parked for two days and the car would not start. Completely drained battery. We got the car jump started and drove if for a bit. Parked it and the next morning the battery was again dead. Taking the car back to the dealership again for the third time for the same problem. We believe the car has an electrical defect somewhere causing this. The dealership has had the car more than we have and I have no confidence they will find the problem.
1. A. Dashboard digital display fades to black. Inability to see speed, meters, gauges, and malfunction graphics on the instrument cluster display. B. When phone charging through console USB port, the entire center console heats up excessively and smells like burning plastic; wiring. Stopped using center USB port to eliminate issue. C. When car put into Drive or Reverse from Park, loud clunking lurch occurs. When stopped at light and the stop idle engaged, the car lurches and makes loud clunking noise. Transmission seems to shift erratically. Turn the stop idle function off every time to avoid issue. 2. A. Dash display going black on highway is a huge safety risk not being able to see any important meters; gauges; warning graphics. The last time it occurred on the freeway going through Camp Pendleton and was frightening. It did come back on once I exited freeway. B. The console heating up was unsafe since it burned my hands to the touch. The sides and underneath area were all excessively heated and the burnt smell was an indication something electrically was malfunctioning. I stopped using the USB port on the console however, that does not eliminate the fact of some sort of electronic defect. C. There is something malfunctioning with the transmission shifting erratically and the stop idle defect. 3. Auto Nation Carlsbad Hyundai service could not duplicate issues driving locally or find any codes showing malfunctions. There is a recall that does not have a remedy that may be affecting the circuitry control system. I do not want to drive the vehicle and feel it's unsafe. 4. I have reported the issue to Hyundai Customer Care. There is a case on it. However, it's been two weeks with no response. Probably overwhelmed. They are very courteous and the General Manager at Carlsbad Hyundai dealer has been helpful providing a loaner. 5. No warning lights. Just fade to black. Increases on freeway after 45 min driving high speed.
Air bag light will intermittently turn on in the digital cluster while driving.
