My small sunroof spontaneously exploded upwards while I was driving on a flat, smooth, straight road at 45 mph (the speed limit) with no cars in front of or behind me. There are no trees overhanging this road. I do have a dashcam showing this. When it happened, I looked in my rearview mirror and saw a shower of glass flying behind the car which also indicates that the sunroof exploded upwards and not inwards. From the pictures, you can clearly see that the glass did not get hit and break inwards and down. The glass flew up and the broken glass that is still together is domed upwards. This is a safety issue because the explosion was extremely loud which could have caused me to react and hit something or go off the road. The flying glass could have hit someone. There was no warning as this happened suddenly and spontaneously.

2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. Single loud popping noise from right rear area occurring approximately 10–20 seconds after coming to a complete stop. Noise is consistent and repeatable during normal everyday driving. Suspected cause is brake caliper, rotor thermal expansion, sway bar end link, or rear suspension bushing releasing load after vehicle settles. Dealer appointment scheduled for May 4, 2025. Issue is ongoing.
2024 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy. Clicking/knocking noise from left rear shock absorber area. Noise occurs when accelerating from a stop as the rear of the vehicle compresses under load, and can be reproduced by pushing the rear of the vehicle up and down. Consistent with known self-leveling rear shock absorber failure documented in TSB 22-22-001H, which has been reported across multiple Palisade model years. Dealer appointment scheduled for May 4, 2025. Issue is ongoing.
My 2024 Hyundai Palisade has been grounded and rendered completely undrivable for 15 cumulative days as of April 21, 2026, due to an open safety recall for which Hyundai has stated no remedy currently exists and no timeline for a fix has been provided. The vehicle was taken out of service on April 6,2026. due to the open recall 292. Hyundai issued interim notification letters in March 2026 advising that the remedy is still under development. On April 21, 2026, I contacted Hyundai Motor America headquarters directly by phone. I was told that the defect is not covered and that I simply must wait with no estimated repair date. I am making monthly loan payments and paying full insurance on a vehicle I cannot drive. Hyundai has provided a loaner vehicle that is not comparable to my 2024 Palisade. I am filing this complaint because: 1.I own a vehicle with a confirmed safety defect for which no fix exists. 2.Hyundai has provided no timeline for resolution. 3.I am suffering ongoing financial harm — loan payments and insurance — on an undrivable vehicle. 4.Hyundai headquarters has verbally refused to take responsibility. I am requesting that NHTSA pressure Hyundai to expedite the recall remedy and provide relief to affected owners who cannot use their vehicles. I am also pursuing my rights under the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act due to Hyundai’s failure to repair a warranted defect within a reasonable time. There is a recall for the displacement of my 3rd row headrest. I have small children and are in the 3rd row daily. Also, although my 3rd row is under recall for mechanical issues, my 3rd row did malfunction and close on items in the 3rd row on 4/5/26. The sensors didn't detect that there were larger items in my vehicle and continued to close down. Also at this time, the right side wouldn't raise back up after me pushing the button multiple times. The seats not returning to an upright position with pressing the button, has happened multiple times. I never received notification that there are safety recalls on my vehicle. The reason I was given by Hyundai was that I didn't receive the notifications was because I didn't purchase my car from a Hyundai dealership. I am extremely concerned for the safety of my children in my vehicle. I tried to get the seatbelt recall repaired on 4/11/26, but the dealership didn't give me a loaner vehicle, as the Hyundai care center had instructed them to do. I called back to the same dealership today, and they were only able to give me a 4 door car ( Hyundai Sonata). This vehicle doesn't have enough seats for my children. There were no warning messages prior to the malfunction.

Two safety recalls are on the vehicle including defective seatbelts and inadequate safety from bodily injury in a rollover with no available fixes or repairs making the vehicle unsuitable and unusable for a family. I can no longer drive this car.

When picking up my children from daycare, my 2024 Palisade (37K miles) would not shift into park. It was stuck in the reverse position. It would not shift to any drive, park, or neutral. Even in the reverse position, the car would not move. I applied the emergency brake and had to turn the car off without placing it in park. When I restarted the car, and place it in reverse, the engine made clunking noise. The dash said "Shifting Malfunction. Service Immediately".

Vehicle has approximately 41,000 miles on it; rear view mirror broke loose from the windshield; had to have the windshield replaced as it pulled some of the glass from the windshield when it broke loose; went to Safe-lite glass shop and the owner told me they see lots of Hyundai Palisades with the same issue; $2,000 at the dealership and $1,200 at Safe-lite. The OEM windshield glass in this vehicle is a safety hazard. Who knows how it would react in a collision?
I am concerned that there is no remedy for seat belts in 1/2 row and there is a risk of injury in the event of an accident in third row, I have two young children and feel there are no safe seating arrangements in the event of an accident and remedy identified.
When going over bumps while lightly pressing the brake (not hard) the anti lock brakes will kick on preventing you from stopping. Example, I was leaving the grocery store slowed down because the light was turning red, hit a minor bump and my brakes locked up and almost rear ended someone because my car would not stop. I was going 5 mpr or less. Contacted Hyundai dealer and the sales manager stated I could bring it in but it is a known issue that Hyundai is refusing to fix. All of my previous vehicles have had ABS and never have I experienced anything like this. It has happened multiple times going over small bumps, small potholes, etc just lightly tapping my brakes.
While starting to drive from a red light, I was about a car length or 1.5 car length away from the vehicle ahead of me. As I was driving forward because the light turned green keeping the same distance, the car gave me a second and a half of the collision warning, then immediately went to emergency break-in and stopped me in the middle of the intersection during morning rush hour. The car behind me almost slammed into me. This happens once in a while when backing up in parking lots. There’s no one behind me but a curb or some grass. I’m not close it to but the emergency breaking system comes on and stops me. Since the stop is abruptly there’s been times another car could have potentially hit me while either trying to go around me as I’m backing out of a spot in a parking lot or as I mentioned today the car stopping me in the middle of the intersection during a green light. It’s been so random, it hasn’t been reproduced. The car was inspected for the other recalls a few days ago but not for the emergency braking system. The warning was very quick today. It didn’t last more than a second before it started to brake itself. I didn’t have time to react to the warning. After researching online I see this is more common than I thought.
It requires significant force to cause the seat detection to stop folding. I’m concerned for the safety of passengers if this was accidentally engaged since easily accessible in the 3rd row.

I brought my car in to get the recall fixed for the seat belts and the emissions issue. When it was returned to me, the passenger seat was not bolted down in the front (the bolts were rolling around on the floor) and the back bolts were loose. The vehicle was returned to me with the passenger seat completely unattached at the front. When I braked, the seat slammed into my [XXX] ’s car seat. We had two incidences with in a week. 1. My wife was at a stop light getting ready to go through an intersection when the light turned green she pressed on the gas pedal and the vehicle would not go it just flashed a few codes and a warning came up about a possible condition that occurred. She had to place the vehicle in park shut it off start it up again and put it into drive mode in order to get going again all this while in traffic. We made an appointment with Hyundai of Anchorage but they couldnt find a problem they updated the soft ware and gave the car back to us. 2. The second time it did this was about a week later. My wife went shopping and got into the car to leave, she started the car and put it into gear and it would not move when giving it gas it flashed some more codes at that point she called me. I restarted the vehicle got it moving and when I came to a stoplight with five vehicles ahead of me the light finally turned green vehicles started moving but when I went to move the car would not go and there was a vehicle behind me a ways back that was approaching rather fast. As my wife did before I had to shut the vehicle off restart it and put it in drive in order to go.
1. The exact component that failed is unknown at this time. The fire appeared to originate in the driver-side front area of the engine compartment near the headlight. Prior to the fire the vehicle experienced engine shaking and a check engine light. The vehicle has been towed to a Hyundai dealership and is available for inspection by insurance investigators, the manufacturer, or safety investigators upon request. 2. The vehicle caught fire while it was being operated on a public roadway shortly after leaving our residence. Flames were visible from the engine compartment within minutes of driving. This created an immediate safety risk to the occupants of the vehicle and to other motorists because the fire occurred suddenly while the vehicle was in motion. 3. The problem has not been reproduced. The vehicle was towed to a Hyundai dealership following the fire incident and is awaiting inspection. The vehicle is a total loss. 4. The vehicle has been inspected by a tow operator and insurance representatives after the fire incident. The vehicle is currently located at a Hyundai dealership and may be inspected by the manufacturer or investigators if requested. 5. Yes. Prior to the fire the check engine warning light illuminated and the engine began shaking while the vehicle was being driven. Within moments of these symptoms a loud popping sound was heard from the front driver-side engine compartment area, followed by visible flames.
This recall has gone on for the last year. They still claim there are no seatbelts. I put 3 small kids in this car every single day and I’m supposed to trust this vehicle? It’s unsafe to drive with my kids in this car that I’m paying a fortune for. They are failing to provide safety.
2 open recalls on safety with no fix yet. Suspension has messed up, random electrical issues in dash and cruise control.My transmission also stalls at certain times. Dealership replaces struts, states they can’t get the vehicle electrical to act up although I have photos and videos and they can’t get the engine to stall. They can’t fix my seatbelts or the airbag and now a theirs row recall note was sent this week for it. This vechicle is not safe to drive/ride my children in and they can’t fix it.
The paint on my make and model vehicle has a widespread paint adhesion defect, not isolated to road debris damage. I have reported the issue to my dealer and to Hyundai Customer Care and I have been told that it would not fall under a warranty repair. The paint delamination is extensive enough to lead to structural rust if it is not repaired.
RE: Failed Radar Braking on a 2024 Hyundai Palisade What component or system failed or malfunctioned .. . . On Feb 8th, 2026 I was driving in to Lakeland FL on I-75 N, in the right hand lane, near a green stoplight following a car 2 lengths ahead. The radar cruise control was slowing me down, keeping up with the car in front. Another driver suddenly cut in front of me from the far left lane. The cruise slammed on the brakes. Within seconds he took a hard right to catch an exit ramp. The radar cruise then accelerated at an extremely high rate, and no Braking, causing me to hit the car in front of me, which was stopped about a car length away at a red light. Our air bags, 3 on driver's side, 1 on the passenger side deployed and my wife and I appeared to have no injury. The Hyundai front end crumpled in, trapping us in the car. The police pried open the doors to get us out. The car was totaled. We rented a car through our insurance and continued our 4 day journey home. On the 3rd day my right leg started turning black and blue. By the 4th day my left leg started doing the same. On returning to Stevens Point I went to the ER. The Dr. said the bruises would take several weeks to clear. And it is not unusual for the bruising to appear several days later. On March 9th both my legs developed large hematomas. The right one just above the ankle, the left just below the knee. A week after that the right hematoma developed 2 deep open wounds and I had to go for wound care involving twice daily bandage changes and then a wound vac. The Dr. says it will be a long recovery. I would have been better off without the leg airbags. Two people in the front car claimed whiplash and were taken to the hospital for observation. The police said they did not appear to be injured, but better safe than sorry. We were trapped in the car and couldn't get out till the Police got there 20 minutes later. By then the ones in the front car had been taken away.

The car started having a sound that sounded like a bowling ball rolling around in the back. I emptied trunk space and had tires checked but there was no issue. I called the dealership and they stated they knew what it was because it was a common problem in the Hyundai Palisade. I made an appointment to come in and have it fixed, along with a safety recall for rear seatbelts. The appointment was made in early January 2026 to bring the car in on 2/2/26. When I arrived they had no record of my appointment and told me I could bring it back another day. I refused because the car has a safety issue as well as sounding like the wheel is coming off. They asked me to leave it and told me it would be a few days because they would need to order parts. The next day I got a call saying the parts for the safety recall were backordered but the suspension repair would be done by 2/5/26. I called on 2/9/26 because I had not gotten any information and they stated the parts for both repairs were backordered. I asked how long and they said 2-4 weeks. It has been 7 weeks and I still have no car. When I call to check (they have never reached out to me for an update unless I call them) I am told parts are still backordered and there is no projected date. I have now made 2 car payments on a car I can't drive. I have no rental vehicle and was not offered one. The dealership seems unconcerned.
My car has been at the dealership since Feb 2, 2026 and there has been no repair. When I inquire I am told there is a back order for parts. No one updates me unless I reach out. There is no help for a vehicle to drive or date when recall will be fixed.
Rear shocks have gone out I am hearing metal on rubber noises dealer had explained issues is common and shock are on back order

Sub-freezing temperatures caused car not be able to start. The battery in this vehicle is less than 3 years old as it was purchased in October of 2023. It displayed a "Check ESC" message, flashed all the lights and I could not hear the engine crank / turn over at all.
The vehicle has two open safety recalls. Recall 26V034000 – the vehicle does not meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 226 for ejection mitigation. There is currently no remedy available. On January 12, 2026, the vehicle shut off twice during the same trip while driving in traffic. All dashboard warning lights illuminated, the tachometer spiked, RPM readings did not correspond, the gear selector became unresponsive, and the vehicle lost propulsion while in motion. On February 15, 2026, the vehicle shut off again while driving under similar conditions. The vehicle was taken to a Hyundai dealership for diagnosis. The battery failed a load test and was replaced. According to the repair order narrative, after the battery replacement, the stall condition recurred during dealership testing. Multiple extended road tests and datalogging were later performed. The dealership has stated they are unable to re-replicate the condition and that no active diagnostic codes are present. The vehicle has experienced multiple loss-of-power events while in motion. An intermittent stall while driving presents a significant safety hazard, particularly in traffic conditions. The root cause has not been definitively identified.
I am submitting this complaint to report a serious safety issue involving the driver’s seat belt buckle in my vehicle. While driving, the driver’s seat belt buckle failed. Specifically, the buckle un latched and it was then unable to re-latch after that. Making it impossible to be securely buckled while driving. There was no previous warning that the seat belt would fail. This occurred while the vehicle was in operation and created a significant safety risk. The failure of a primary safety restraint is extremely concerning, as it compromises the driver’s ability to operate the vehicle safely and increases the risk of serious injury in the event of a collision. This issue appears to be a defect in the seat belt buckle mechanism, not the result of misuse.

I just purchased the new 2024 Palisade. We were traveling about 15-20 mph when approaching a stop sign when I pressed the brakes the ABS braking system went on and I could not stop the car. The car seemed to learch forward while the ABS braking was going on and the car did not stop in time and we traveled into the middle of the intersection. Good thing the driver coming from the cross street slammed on his brakes and did not hit us. The road we were traveling on was a little rough and bumpy at the point the ABS engaged when I was breaking. The braking after the incident seemed to be normal operation.
Automatic emergency braking. Vehicle has had several instances of slaming on brakes for no reason. Last time we were traveling about 35 miles per hour with a vehicle traveling behind us when system slammed on brakes locking them up and bringing us to a complete stop. We were traveling in the dark, in a rough road in a construction zone. No warnings lamps or messages. Scared us very bad. We are having the vehicle checked the next time we have in for service. Seat belts not fixed as of last service 10/25/25, per dealer no remedy available at this time.
Posterior shocks fractured at 24,000 miles. Car handles poorly and drives unsteady. Dealer has confirmed fracture and has promised new shocks 4 months ago. Have contacted Hyundai corporate and have been told weekly that they are working on a solution but have no idea when a solution will come. There was no warning when this occurred.
ABS system activated when I hit a bump of any kind and I'm slowing down, like a speed bump, a 1/2"edge on my curb as I enter my driveway a little faster than usual. Or exit a long drive at that is dry and lower than the sidewalk and tires flyi over the edge of sidewalk and it activates pumping the brages repeatedly. Dates have been recent and a while ago. 11-25-25 and I don't have exact dates but probably 2 months ago and 4 months ago and 6 months ago and even 1 year ago. I took to the dealer but they said they couldn't recreate it so the couldn't fix anything. That was early on. I thought I was going to hit my garage door because it prevented me from stopping faster. It disengages my ability to use the brakes. They don't activate when being slammed on just when the road is rough. I looked in forums and many others have this issue. Please got it I hate it and it makes me want to return the vehicle because I don't feel safe when it happens.
During a routine inspection at Ron Marhofer Hyundai in Akron, OH on November 22, 2025, the technician reported that both the front and rear brake caliper brackets on my 2024 Hyundai Palisade were “caliper bracket dry.” The inspection sheet also included the following warning from the dealership: “If not replaced, the brake caliper will fail, causing a dangerous condition where either the vehicle will not stop or will pull severely to one side when it does.” This was found on a 17-month-old vehicle with about 33,540 miles. Brake caliper slide pins and brackets should not be completely dry on a vehicle this new unless something was defective in the lubrication, assembly, or materials. The dealership confirmed the condition, provided photos, and gave a repair estimate. I contacted Hyundai Consumer Affairs and the case was escalated several times, but Hyundai ultimately declined to cover the repair, even with the dealer’s written statement that the calipers may fail and the vehicle may not stop. Based on the age of the vehicle, the dealer’s warning, and the nature of the problem, this is a premature brake system defect that creates a real safety risk to me and others on the road.

Dealer advised us to continue driving with a defective seatbelt. Hyundai Customer Care disconnected the call when we attempted to discuss the safety risk and did not offer a loaner or temporary vehicle. Parts unavailable for months.
I was driving and the sunroof glass randomly combusted. Nothing hit it, and there were no other cars around.
I have owned the 2024 Hyundai Palisade for 11 months. On average, I experience at least twice a month an issue with the braking system when coming to a stop. It appears mainly associated with uneven road or where loose gravel or asphalt maybe on the roadway. The vehicle's frontend vibrates and the brakes do not grab and hold. I have to release the brake pedal and then reapply the brakes, all the while my vehicle is continuing moving forward. Today, I was coming up to a stop light and almost went into cross traffic.
we have had the seatbelt come unbuckled twice in second row seat. I am being told by the dealer that there is "no remedy" for this problem. I am also being told to continue to drive my car even though the seat belt buckles may fail in an accident
