ELEC STABILITY CONTROL LITE ON AFTER STARTING CAR. FAILED TO START ONE TIME. DEALER INVESTIGATED. FOUND PART # 93810-3S000 (SWITCH ASSM STOP LAMP) DEFECTIVE. REPLACED SWITCH. I CHECKED THE INTERNET FOR THIS PART NUMBER AND FOUND A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF FAILURES OF THIS SWITCH. THIS SWITCH CAN FAIL AT ANYTIME, CAUSING LOSS OF POWER AND OTHER SYMPTOMS. I SENT THIS SAME MESSAGE TO HYUNDAI CONSUMERS AFFAIRS. THIS SWITCH MUST BE MARGINALLY FUNCTIONAL FOR IT'S PURPOSE DUE THE NUMBER OF FAILURES NOTED ON THE INTERNET. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH STEERING SINCE AROUND ROUGHLY OCTOBER 2012. THE VEHICLE PULLS LEFT OR RIGHT ON MOST OCCASIONS. I HAVE HAD THIS VEHICLE ALIGNED AT THE HYUNDAI DEALERSHIP AND AT TIRE KINGDOM A NUMBER OF TIMES. THE STEERING STILL GOES TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT EVEN AFTER THE ALIGNMENTS WERE DONE. EVERY TIME I TAKE IT TO HYUNDAI THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAR AND BLAME IT ON ALIGNMENTS MOST OF THE TIME. THE LAST TIME I WENT TO HYUNDAI I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE STEERING STILL PULLING LEFT OR RIGHT EVEN AFTER I HAD JUST ALIGNED IT WITH THEM. THE ONLY CONCLUSION THEY CAN COME TO WAS THAT "I NEED TO KEEP MY HANDS ON THE STEERING WHEEL TO KEEP IT STRAIGHT" THIS VEHICLE YEAR AND MODEL HAS BEEN KNOWN IN THE PAST TO HAVE ISSUES WITH THE STEERING GOING LEFT OR RIGHT ON ITS OWN. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP A NUMBER OF TIMES AND FINALLY DECIDED TO PUT A CLAIM IN ON THE VEHICLE THROUGH THEY'RE CORPORATE OFFICE. I FEEL THIS VEHICLE IS A DANGER TO MYSELF, MY FAMILY AND OTHERS. A CAR SHOULD BE ABLE TO DRIVE STRAIGHT ON A ROAD EVEN IF YOU ONLY LET THE CAR GO FOR A SECOND. I HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT DOESN'T HAVE THIS ISSUE AT ALL. I HAVE DOCUMENTATION ON THE TIMES I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN AND EXPRESSED THAT THIS CAR WAS NOT SAFE AND HAVE ONLY BEEN TURNED AWAY. IV EXPRESSED THAT IV FELT AT TIMES THAT WHILE THE CAR IS PULLING I HAVE TO USE A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF STRENGTH TO KEEP THE CAR STRAIGHT, THIS SHOULD NOT BE THE CASE WITH ANY VEHICLE ESPECIALLY ONLY BEING 3 YEARS OLD. HYUNDAI DOESN'T FEEL LIKE THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH MY CAR AND I COMPLETELY DISAGREE, THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER CASES WITH HYUNDAI CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE BOUGHT THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL VEHICLE AND HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. I WOULD LIKE THIS TO BE LOOKED INTO BEFORE AN ACCIDENT OCCURS DUE TO THIS STEERING ISSUE. *TR
IN APRIL 2013 I DROVE FROM SUFFERN,NY TO BRIDGEWATER,NJ;I SET THE ALARM AND WENT INSIDE. TWENTY MINUTES LATER, I WENT BACK OUTSIDE ONLY TO DISCOVER THE TAILLIGHT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE HANGING OUT BY THE WIRES. NOONE WAS HOME IN AREA AND THERE WERE NO MARKS ON THE CAR- MY ALARM NEVER WENT OFF A YEAR PRIOR (NOT SURE OF THE EXACT DATE) IN A PARKING LOT =WHEN I WENT INTO A BUILDING TO PLAY BINGO, THE TAILLIGHT WAS FINE WHEN I RETURNED TO THE CAR A FEW HOURS LATER THE TAILLIGHT ON THE DRIVER SIDE WAS HANGING OUT (AGAIN HANGING BY THE WIRES) BOTH TIMES I BROUGHT MY CAR TO HYUNDAI BECAUSE I FELT IT WAS A DEFECT IN THE CAR BUT THEY INSISTED IT WAS VANDALISM AND MADE ME PAY APPROX. $300 TO GET A NEW ONE. THERE IS NO WAY SOMEONE COULD TAKE THIS TAILLIGHT OUT WITH NOT ONE MARK ON THE CAR AND IT NEVER CAUSED MY ALARM TO GO OFF. HYUNDAI INSISTED BECAUSE INSIDE THE SCREWS WERE BROKEN TO HOLD IT IN,' THAT IT HAD TO BE VANDALISM AND REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING FOR ME=I EVEN CALLED THE CORPORATE OFFICE.' PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, WE HEARD A KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE. WHILE WE WERE LOOKING FOR A GAS STATION TO PULL OVER, THE CHECK OIL LIGHT CAME ON, ALL WITHIN A MATTER OF MINUTES. WE IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AND CHECKED THE OIL ONLY TO FIND THAT NO OIL WAS REGISTERING ON THE DIP STICK. WE FOUND THAT ODD AS WE HAD OUR OIL CHANGE JUST A COUPLE MONTHS AGO. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS SLUDGE IN THE ENGINE AND WE NEEDED TO REPLACE IT. THE COST TO REPLACE THE ENGINE WAS $6100. FURTHERMORE, THE DEALERSHIP WENT ON AND CHANGED THEIR STORY 5 TIMES AS TO WHILE THE ENGINE FAILED. THEY ASKED US TO PROVIDE THEM WITH OIL CHANGE RECEIPTS, WHICH WE DID YET THEY STILL DENIED OUR CLAIM. OUR CAR HAD THE OIL CHANGES DONE PROPERLY AND WITHIN THE TIME SCHEDULED. OUR CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY YET THEY DENIED OUR CLAIM WE HAVE FILED A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE DEALERSHIP AND HYUNDAI. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA EQUIPPED WITH KUMHO SOLUS KH25 TIRES, SIZE: P205 65 R16. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE TRAVELING 45 MPH, A ROTARY NOISE EMITTED FROM ALL FOUR TIRES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO CONFIRMED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES WERE CUPPED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,616 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 16,649.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED, IT MADE A LOUD TICKING SOUND AND RATTLED. THE NOISE LASTED APPROXIMATELY FIFTEEN MINUTES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ROD ACCESSORY OIL LEVEL GAUGE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,600.
MANY OTHER BUYERS OF THIS VEHICLE HAVE COMPLAINED SAME ISSUE. TAILS LIGHTS ARE FALLING OUT ON THEIR OWN WITHOUT ANY IMPACT. IT SEEMS THAT PLASTIC STUDS HOLDING LIGHTS IN PLACE ARE CRACKING OFF. THERE ARE FOUR STUDS THAT METAL SCREWS ARE HOLDING LIGHT ON BY. HYUNDAI IS NOT HONORING THIS AS A WARRANTY, THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION BECAUSE ONE DRIVER HAD HIS LIGHT POP OUT DRIVING ON HIGHWAY. *TR
I HAVE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR TWO YEARS AND ABOUT TWO MONTHS AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS (PURCHASED BRAND NEW) -- I'VE HAD TO GET A NEW MOTOR (ENGINE CAUGHT ON FIRE (ELECTRICAL/SMOKING) WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE BELTWAY), REPLACED TIRE ROD, NEED 4 BRAND NEW TIRES, TRANSMISSION SLIPPING, AND OTHER ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS WITH COOLING/HEATING SYSTEM (THE BLOWER DOES NOT WORK FOR AIR POINTED IN THE FLOOR DIRECTION), STRONG SMELL OF GAS FUMES INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE GAS MILEAGE GAUGE IS INACCURATE -- I GET NO WHERE NEAR THE HIGHWAY NOR CITY MILES. THE GAS METER IS NOT REGISTERING. PARTS ON THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM HAVE BEEN RANDOMLY REPLACED. I HAVE HAD ALL SCHEDULE SERVICES ON MY VEHICLE AS WELL AS EXTRAS SUCH AS SPECIAL REPLACEMENT FILTERS, ETC. I HAVE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE BREAKING SYSTEM. I BELIEVE I'VE PURCHASED A COMPLETE LEMON. THE CURRENT MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE IS 27700 MILES. THERE IS NO WAY I SHOULD BE HAVING THIS MANY PROBLEMS AS FREQUENTLY AS I HAVE BEEN HAVING. THE CAR'S STEERING PULLS TO THE LEFT AS WELL. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO REPLACE TIRES ONLY AFTER TWO YEARS OF DRIVING AFTER PUTTING NITROGEN AS ADVISED. I'VE NOTICED A NOISE WHEN TURNING THE STEERING TO THE LEFT AS WELL AS IF THE LEFT TIRE ROD OR AXLE WANTS TO BREAK -- WEIRD FEELING TURN THE CAR. THE ALARM SYSTEM IS FAILING TO LOCK ALL OF THE DOORS -- ONLY THE DRIVERS DOOR. -- DEALERS SOLUTION...PURCHASE A NEW ONE ??? REALLY? *TR
I HAVE A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. I HAD MY BRAKE PEDAL STOPLIGHT SWITCH REPLACED A FEW DAYS AGO BY A HYUNDAI DEALER, WHICH WAS COVERED UNDER THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. HOWEVER, IN DOING RESEARCH ON THIS REPLACEMENT, I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM OF HYUNDAI SONATA OWNERS AND IT WOULD SEEM THAT HYUNDAI HAS NOT CORRECTED THIS ISSUE OTHER THEN TO REPLACE THE OEM SWITCH WHEN IT FAILS. BASED UPON WHAT I HAVE READ, I THEREFORE EXPECT THAT THIS REPLACEMENT WILL FAIL AGAIN SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE AND PROBABLY AT AN INOPPORTUNE TIME. SINCE IT TAKES ONLY A FEW MOMENTS TO REPLACE THE SWITCH, SOME HYUNDAI OWNERS THAT HAVE HAD MULTIPLE FAILURES HAVE GONE AS FAR AS CARRYING A SPARE SWITCH IN THEIR GLOVE COMPARTMENT IN CASE THE SWITCH FAILS AGAIN AND THEY ARE EITHER OUT OF WARRANTY OR NOT NEAR A DEALER. THE SAFETY ISSUE REVOLVES AROUND THE FAILURE OF THIS SWITCH WHICH RESULTS IN THE BRAKE LIGHTS NOT BEING OPERABLE AND THE POSSIBILITY OF OTHER SAFETY SYSTEMS BEING AFFECTED TOO, I.E. TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS. IF THIS SWITCH FAILURE OCCURS WITH THE VEHICLE IN PARK, THE GEARSHIFT LEVER CANNOT BE MOVED. IF THIS FAILURE WAS A "ONCE IN A LIFETIME" FAILURE, IT WOULD NOT BE THAT MUCH OF AN ISSUE. BUT AGAIN, THAT DOES NOT SEEM TO BE THE CASE AND RESEARCH OF HYUNDAI'S REPAIR RECORDS OR STATEMENTS MADE BY OWNERS OF THESE CARS SHOULD BARE THAT OUT. THE ORIGINAL OEM SWITCH PART IS #93810-3S000. AN ALLEGED UPDATE MAY BE PART # 93810-3K000 BUT THIS PART CAN NOT BE INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLES HAVING THE ORIGINAL PART AND HYUNDAI HAS NOT MADE A RETRO INSTALLATION POSSIBLE IF THIS "K" SWITCH IS INDEED AN UPDATED REPLACEMENT. I FEEL THAT HYUNDAI SHOULD ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND PRODUCE A RETRO FIT FOR THIS SAFETY RELATED BRAKE SWITCH SINCE IT SEEMS TO BE A CONSTANT ISSUE THAT NEEDS ATTENTION DUE TO THE FAILURE OF THE SWITCH WHICH THEN CAUSES, AT THE VERY LEAST, INOPERABLE BRAKE LIGHTS. *TR
VEHICLE ENGINE WAS SHUT OFF IN A CONSTRUCTION ZONE, WAITING FOR LINE TO MOVE. ENGINE (PUSH BUTTON START) WOULD NOT ENGAGE, THUS CAUSING MAJOR TRAFFIC ISSUES. EVERYTHING DONE ACCORDING TO MANUAL TRYING TO GET STARTER TO ENGAGE. ENGINE STARTER FINALLY ENGAGED AFTER SETTING FOR SOMETIME. THIS IS THE THIRD OCCURRENCE OF THIS SAME PROBLEM. SUSPECT LINKAGE BETWEEN BRAKE SENSOR AND START BUTTON. COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH THE DRIVER SIDE TAIL LIGHT UNIT DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE PASSENGER SIDE TAIL LIGHT UNIT WAS ALSO LOOSE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.
THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT HAPPENED BUT CAN AND PROBABLY HAPPENED TO SOME OTHER OWNER. THERE IS NO SPARE TIRE JUST AN INFLATION KIT WHICH IS USELESS IF THERE IS DAMAGE TO THE SIDE WALL OR RIM. I AM TOLD THAT I CAN CALL FOR HELP AND BE TOWED TO A DEALER IF THAT HAPPENS. THERE ARE NUMEROUS PLACES IN THIS COUNTRY THAT CELL PHONE SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE. IN THE EVENT OF THIS HAPPENING I COULD BE STRANDED ON A RURAL ROAD, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT WITH NO WAY TO GET HELP. WITH A MOUNTABLE SPARE I COULD GET TO A SAFE PLACE. THIS SITUATION IS NOT SAFE FOR ANYONE THAT TRAVELS TO UNPOPULATED AREAS IN THIS COUNTRY. *TR
CAR IS NOT STARTING WITH PUSH BUTTON START AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE. IT TAKES SEVERAL TRIES FOR IT TO FINALLY START. IT IS INTERMITTENT, SOMETIMES STARTS UP RIGHT AWAY, OTHER TIMES IT DOESN'T. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR BRAKE LIGHT ASSEMBLY DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ENTERING A RESIDENTIAL DRIVEWAY WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE ENTIRE LIGHT FIXTURE WAS DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER DID PROVIDE ANY ASSISTANCE OR INFORMATION IN REGARDS TO A REMEDY FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 50,000.
I WAS DRIVING AT THE FREEWAY SPEED LIMIT, I DID NOT FEEL ANYTHING WHEN IT HAPPENED BUT I KNOW THAT IT HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY. I PULLED OVER TO GET SOME GAS, LOOKED BACK NEAR THE GAS CAP AND SAW THAT MY DRIVER'S SIDE TAILIGHT ASSEMBLY WAS HANGING BY THE WIRES ONTO MY BUMPER. WHEN IT FELL OUT, IT BOUNCED AND PLACED SEVERAL DINGS AND CHIPS IN THE PLASTIC BUMPER. I NOTICED THAT THE WHEELS(COGS) INSIDE THE TAILIGHT ASSEMBLY WERE COMPLETELY BROKEN OFF. I HAD TO TAKE THE LIGHT OUT AND PLACE IT IN MY TRUNK AND DRIVE THE REST OF THE TWO HUNDRED MILES WITH NO LEFT TAIL LIGHT OR TURN SIGNAL. IF IT HAD FALLEN INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY, I AM SURE THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN MUCH MORE TO WRITE ABOUT AND NONE OF IT GOOD! *TR
I WAS DRIVING OVER THE BRIDGE WHEN I HEARD NOISES FROM THE REAR OF MY CAR . THE CAR BEHIND ME WAS HONKING. WHEN I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER I SAW MY TAILLIGHT WAS HANGING ON BY WIRES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED POOR ILLUMINATION OF THE HEADLIGHTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE PERFORMING AS DESIGNED. THE DEALER ALSO ADVISED THE CONTACT TO ACTIVATE THE FOG LIGHTS, WHICH SHOULD ASSIST WITH ILLUMINATING THE ROADWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,500.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START AFTER PRESSING THE PUSH-TO-START BUTTON. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER WHO STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND A DEFECT WITH THE IGNITION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
WITH CAR RUNNING LOOSENESS IN STEERING COLUMN. THERE IS TSB ON IT BUT IF OUT OF WARRANTY CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE. *TR
1) TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM LIGHT INDICATES LOW TIRE PRESSURE. 2) DRONING NOISE COMING FROM REAR TIRES. THE TIRE PRESSURE PROBLEM FIRST OCCURRED APPROXIMATELY 2-WEEKS AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR USED FROM A LOCAL HYUNDAI DEALER. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED A COUPLE MORE TIMES AND WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT THE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. WHEN DRIVEN LOCALLY, THE PROBLEM OCCURS ABOUT EVERY 2-TO-3 WEEKS (APPROXIMATELY 200 MILES). WHEN I DRIVE ON OUT-OF-TOWN TRIPS, THE TROUBLE OCCURRENCE VARIES FROM ABOUT EVERY 150 TO 700 MILES. I CHECKED THE TIRES WITH A TIRE GAUGE AND IT INDICATES THE DRIVER-SIDE FRONT TIRE (SEEMS TO BE THE ONLY TIRE HAVING THE PROBLEM) HAS ONLY 25 PSI OF PRESSURE. I INFLATED THE TIRE TO 35 PSI AND CONTINUED MY TRIP. THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON A COUPLE MORE TIMES DURING THIS PARTICULAR TRIP. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS FOUR NEW TIRES, AND THE PROBLEM STILL OCCURS, HOWEVER IT HAS MOVED TO THE DRIVER-SIDE REAR TIRE (THIS MAY BE THE RIM THAT WAS ORIGINALLY ON THE DRIVER-SIDE FRONT. THE DEALER HAS CHECKED THE TIRE AND RIM AND HAS NOT FOUND ANY PROBLEMS. I HAD THE ISSUED CHECKED DURING A RECENT TRIP BY AN INDEPENDENT SHOP AND THEY DID NOT FIND A PROBLEM WITH THE TIRE OR RIM. LAST MONTH WE RECEIVE A LETTER STATING THAT CAR IS BEING RECALLED DO TO THE "SHORT BLOCK" AND OTHER ISSUES WITH THE ENGINE. CAR WILL RANDOMLY NOT START AFTER PARKING IT. DEPRESS BRAKE PEDAL THROUGH THE FLOOR, PRESS START BUTTON, YET IT SAYS "PRESS DOWN BRAKE PEDAL TO START". THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IN THREE WEEKS. I NOTICED THAT THE ESC LIGHT WAS ON. I PULLED OVER AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK. WHEN READING WHAT ESC LIGHT WAS I KNEW I COULD PROCEED WITHOUTH DANGER. I THEN TRIED TO SHIFT AND I COULDN'T. I HAD TO KEEP TURNING THE CAR ON AND OFF UNTIL I COULD. THIS HAPPENED MULTIPLES TIMES. TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY FIXED IN. SUPPOSEDLY WAS A BRAKE SENSOR ISSUE. *TT
ON 5 OCCASIONS MY CAR HAS TEMPORARILY STALLED/LOST POWER FOR AN INSTANT, ALWAYS AT FREEWAY SPEED WITHIN 10 MILES OF MY HOME. THE SENSATION IS AS IF THE CAR HAD RUN INTO SOMETHING HEAVY ON THE PAVEMENT. IT VIOLENTLY PITCHED MY WIFE AND I FORWARD AND I EXPECT THAT WE WOULD HAVE HIT THE DASH HAD WE NOT BEEN WEARING SEATBELTS. AFTER EXITING THE FREEWAY IN ALL CASES, THE CAR HAD BARELY ENOUGH ACCELERATION TO DRIVE MORE THAN 25 MPH FOR THE COUPLE OF MILES TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER CLAIMS THAT THEY CANNOT REPAIR A PROBLEM WHICH THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE. I UNDERSTAND THIS BUT FIND IT DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE THAT HYUNDAI HAS NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE BEFORE. I STRONGLY FEEL THAT MY VEHICLE IS UNSAFE AND NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED UNDER THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. I AM ONLY 30,000 MILES INTO A 100,000 MILE WARRANTY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA HYBRID. THE DRIVER WAS TRAVELING BETWEEN 35-40 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. FOUR PASSENGERS WERE INJURED IN THE CRASH. THE POLICE WERE CONTACTED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED OR INSPECTED FOR THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 700.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 HYUNDAI SONATA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS, WHICH LOCATED THE FAILURE AT THE ENGINE. THE ENGINE OIL EXPERIENCED A BLOCK THAT CAUSED THE OIL NOT TO CIRCULATE AND THE ENGINE TO FAIL. THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
THE CAR HAS BEEN PULLING TO THE RIGHT FROM DAY 1 AND STILL IS PULLING TO THE RIGHT. I HAD A WHEEL ALIGNMENT DONE AT 8,000 MILES AND ANOTHER AT APPROX 21,000 MILES. DEALER KEEPS TELLING ME THAT THE CAR IS TRACKING STRAIGHT, HOWEVER WHEN I DRIVE AT ANY SPEED THE CAR PULLS TO RIGHT. I HAVE TO KEEP THE STEERING WHEEL PULLED TO THE LEFT TO COMPENSATE. THE TECH AT THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT HYUNDAI RECOMMENDS A WHEEL ALIGNMENT EVERY 12,000 MILES. I HAVE LOOKED THROUGH THE OWNERS MANUAL NO RECOMMENDATION FOUND. I HAVE CALLED HYUNDAI WITH NO SATISFACTION OTHER THEN TO TRY ANOTHER DEALER. GETTING VERY FRUSTRATED. THE COMPANY KNOWS THERE IS A PROBLEM BUT WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE KEEPS GIVING THE RUN AROUND. *JS
